What outstanding staff, The Bistro staff too!!!The breakfast was so amazing, even though it was expensive, and the pool was amazing even without a hot tube for mum, we enjoyed our stay here so muchWe will be back, and are looking forward to it!Thank you for allowing my children who have autism to feel welcome as they played, ran around a bit much, and may have caused a bit of a ruckus without a complaint about their behaviorI did have a man during the day who wasn’t pleasant, but whatever you never know what anyone is going through these days

Sajeev Mehta

Everything was great and I am actually happy to see they aren’t doing daily maid service anymore That was a waste, and there’s plenty of other things to enjoy in the facility (nice food options, beverages, open spaces for meetings, etc)

I was fortunate enough to get a Bonvoy upgrade, which meant a lot because I rarely travel these days

Cristina Denise

I would have given more stars, however they over charge for room rates, the wifi was non working I booked online and was quoted 200 for the night as a member, got here they upped my price 20 dollars Over priced hotel

Stayed one year ago and paid 100 which seems to be what it should have been for the night I only needed a room to be close to the UofM medicine school to test in the morning but next time I’ll stay elsewhere

I was in Ann Arbor with my daughter for funeral services I packed hurriedly the next morning When I unpacked the next day I realized I had left precious photographs and called TPSuites

I gave them room# and date; Tanya said she would check lost and found: FOUND! I had left the contents of a drawer (including driving glasses and jewelry bag) Long story short: I got my belongings back via UPS – Terry Bailey took it there and called me with tracking infoI was SO HAPPY to get the box!The accommodations were very pleasant; we were happy to find a table for 4 and a full kitchenette, so my brother and his wife were able to come and be with us the last evening The shopping center was much appreciated; we both had to pick up needed items

Ellen Slomp

Service was lovely from Brandi at the front desk The room was clean, stylish, and relaxing Breakfast included waffles, eggs, bacon, baked goods, yogurts, etc

There were lots of nice touches, like full bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the shower instead of the sample sizes you typically see Also they have the option to borrow items, like board games, kitchen supplies, and umbrellasIt was a great stay for a great price!

The front desk attendant, Carlos was very nice, friendly, and just had an overall excellent customer service persona Breakfast was great for the price of the hotel The beds are comfortable

The rooms are decently clean The sink in the room and not the bathroom is kind of strange and I kept waking my husband up earlier than he would have liked since I had to leave for work training If you’re looking for something on the cheaper side but a good deal for the money, I would recommend this hotel

Thomas Kwong

The front desk team was very friendly and accommodating The rooms were a bit small but that is expected for a Fairfield traveling with a family of 5 The walls are very thin

We could hear the conversation that the man had next door on his phone They need some better insulation The pool was nice and big but the gym was very limited Otherwise a decent stay overall

Kathryn Wagner

My husband was having a bunch of his guy friends over to our house for the Michigan football game, so I decided to take my kiddos and head to a near by hotel We had a great time!! The room was a perfect size for us Due to Covid, we had to sign up for pool time which was actually really nice because we had the pool to ourselves for an HOUR! It was awesome!! SUPER friendly front desk staff! I wish there was a better breakfast option but again because of Covid they really do not have any other option

We will definitely be back!!!

What a beautiful hotel! The location is fantastic, the grounds are well maintained as is the hotel itself All of the staff were very helpful and friendly, our room and bathroom were very clean which is so important to us There was a nice pool and exercise room

Plus, the complimentary hot breakfast that changed every day was great! We would definitely stay here again 🙂

Seth Held

I had a really nice experience here with the staff!!!They were very kind and accommodating! My room was very clean and nice but I opted for the larger room with a sofa bed It was very sparsely furnished For being so large they need an armoire or chest of drawers

Maybe some additional wall coverings? Was also rather shocked that they didn’t accept Apple Pay Is that all Hilton facilities? Seems way behind the times Breakfast was really good Didn’t use the pool or other facilities Great snack store behind the counter too! Really need the most popular digital pay format though

Chris Stovall

We came for a little over a week for a conference and they were excellent Friendly faces on the staff Clean modern rooms

Comfortable bedsThe continental breakfast was a little repetitive, but that’s to be expected: most people aren’t staying a whole week and wouldn’t notice the same choices repeating over every couple of daysI gave 4 stars on location because there’s almost nothing close

Had a great time Nice location, room was way bigger than we thought Clean enough with a number of nice ammenities at a great value

Quite goodThe only two problems were that door handle to get in the room was loose and in need of repair, and it was difficult to get to the front desk at night (turns out there is an unlocked back door you can get in after the front is locked) Neither is a deal breaker by any stretch

Christian Gold

There are some positives to this property but the negatives sadly outweigh themNot only are the more traditional hotel-style rooms accessible from the outside, they are tragically run-down The bathroom had rust on the metal surfaces

The tile grout had started to turn black The bed I had was unforgiving and I got no duvet – so I literally had to go buy oneTo top this off, this property advertises one room but shows the rate of another, just to rope you in $69/night doesn’t get you the big, lofted suite – it gets you a broom closet At $100-ish a night, you do get a room with a nice kitchen, full-size fridge, and electric range, but its not worth the trouble They also advertised a deal where if you stayed 7 nights or longer, you would get a 15% discount off the final bill The front desk people could not help me out in this matter I was told to email the assistant general manager (Jody?) I have 3x and no answerSadly – this is a property I will not be returning to I love Sonesta’s but this one let me down hard

T Irabagon

Pool CLOSED for the season TV Cable had been ripped out of the TV and can’t be plugged in We borrowed their pack’n’play for our baby to sleep in, but the main bottom supports are broken, so it keeps collapsing

The desk staff are nice, the breakfast was good, the room was tidy The pool closure was the major blow – it was 80% of why we chose this place so my kids could play while I worked from the room If you’re here to let your kids swim in the pool, BOOK ELSEWHERE

The furnishings were nice The water was hot It’s downhill from there

The website says breakfast vouchers No, you have to pre order cold food Basically either a cold bagel or a fruit cup There’s a cafe in the building but no hot food The coffee tastes like cardboard The building is old and poorly insulated Needs paint No smart TV The location is convenient, but there are real hotels nearby Won’t make this mistake again

Patrick Morgan

I was impressed with the amount of (lacking) service that came with a $13500 room The room had the look and feel of a college dorm, including a section of missing siding on a wall and a yellowed off-white paint used on the walls

The carpet wasn’t clean, and the bathroom fixtures were all dated I don’t mean dated as in “old fashioned”, mind you, but dated as in “old with poor quality” None of the desk receptionists I saw were in uniform, and they were unhelpful on questions about navigating the campus One did openly flirt with me, however, which was unprofessional Another was downright rude, refusing to give me more than a few words at a timeThe room comes with no amenities that I can name I thought it might come with a 1-day pass to the recreation facility or pool (no), or breakfast (none of any kind), or anything really There was a coffee station, but each time checked the water was room temperature I honestly don’t believe it was changed the entire time I was thereDon’t stay here You can get better service and a better room at a discount hotel than here

I enjoyed my stay here I had fallen a bit sick at the time of my stay and I was looking forward to cast some of my podcast episodes on the TV but the TVs only let you put channels So I found the Office in here and had an okay time

The breakfast given is standard breakfast, with some fresh fruit Needless to say the employees were really great and helpfulCons:- I did find a used coffee cup in my room, but other than that everything was clean- The stand in showers are a bit slippery- Ground floor rooms are directly exposed to the street

Lynn “Pencilmarks”

You cannot beat this location if you want to be within walking distance to all of main campus Have stayed numerous times as had two kids attend Michigan Rooms have been renovated and much improved

Breakfast provided a nice bonus Always great service, very comfortable beds with nice fluffy (plentiful) pillows and crisp white linens Definitely recommend the $20/day valet parking for the total convenience The giant chess game in the window is fun when folks actually try to play Can move a piece each time you walk by But nobody’s perfect 😉 Would be 5 stars if rooms had mini fridge and they could upgrade the elevator service (notoriously slow, ya gotta be patient!) Highly recommend

Christina Lange

Such a cute hidden gem! It was in walking distance to do many great food and shopping locations Stayed here for a overnight getawayBreakfast was amazing and everything in the hotel was very aesthetically pleasing

The employees are kind and very professionalOnly issue I had was the sleep quality The mattress was quite uncomfortable and the pillows are the kind where your head sinks all the way thru Lots of tossing and turning unfortunately But I’d still stay here again regardless

Stayed at the hotel because the price was right We were not expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived Jaleeyah was friendly and helped us get checked in

When we got to our rooms we saw a sticker on the door that said the room was sanitized and when we got in we had a cute note from the housekeeper Durance who cleaned the room Room was spacious just lacked a pullout couch that you find in most newer hotels Room was clean and had everything we needed Store was nice and had coke products YES! Hotel was quiet and we both got some great sleep Checkout was seamless and quick I recommend this hotel for anyone coming in the area

Pablo Paul Smith

Warm, cozy, comfortable, my 3 day stay wasn’t bad Not much reaction or contact with staff other than at check in or passing the front desk and this could’ve been because of Covid protocols This means you had to take care of your own room while staying there and that was fine with us

The desk was willing to help with anything you needed Rooms with kitchenettes and a full size refrigerator so a good place for longer stays My only complaint was that I was unimpressed with the shower(head), super low water pressure which could’ve been a water saving measure but man! I usually take advantage of a good shower at hotelsStill would try another stay

Lisa Cummings

Had a great stay and asked the staff how I could tell the world about it and they said Google and Trip Advisor So Tiffany this is a review just for you 🙂 Had a beautiful stay with great people working and clean rooms Everyone was so nice and pleasant

Only bad thing was the internet was moving slow We will be back in the Spring for our daughters graduation!

We stayed here for one night, before the Mid-American Poms State Championship at the EMU Convocation Center, a quick and easy 5 minute drive away Check in was quick and easy, and we were able to get into our room an hour before check in timeOur room was very clean and fresh

Everything worked without issue and it was very comfortable There was a mini fridge and microwave, which was nice The hotel itself was also clean and comfortable We didn’t use the pool or hot tub, but it looked very niceThe breakfast area was on the small side, and the choices were limited to the usual continental breakfast choices, but it was a nice breakfast The Bearclaw Coffee was excellent!Hotel staff was very attentive and friendly I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a pleasant, clean friendly place to stay, close to major roads and attractionsThank you Ann Arbor Regent Hotel for the great stay!

Jennie Kackley

If I could have given this hotel and more importantly, the staff 100 stars, I would have My daughter is on a collegiate cheer team and EMU was hosting the NAIA national competition this last weekend The hotel hosted the kids and coaches on the team plus all of the families traveling in from Missouri

First, Kathy and the entire staff were amazing We were all on a first name basis when we left From making sure we had what we needed and the space to make it happen to accommodating last minute rooms as their bus broke down and they had to stay an extra day Everyone was so much fun Every interaction with staff was positive and sweet The rooms were clean and my son loved the pool and shuffleboard table!I’m just glad we found you all! Thanks for making our stay so much fun!

Dana Cook

Over the last 20 years I have stayed in numerous hotels around Ann Arbor The Ann Arbor Regent has been the best we have stayed at It is super clean, renovated nicely and has a wonderful pool and spa area

The staff is so polite and accommodating and the ladies that clean the rooms are thorough and so very nice I wish we could give the Ann Arbor Regent 10 stars Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one We will be back I also want to offer a shout out to Michelle at the front desk She was so pleasant from the moment we walked through the door and she welcomed us so warmly!

Name Unknown

there were dirty underwear when pulling out the sofa bed, the floor wasn’t vacuumed well, and the bed was made messy There wasn’t any coffee pot for the room They need to have better housekeeping and not rush and actually care about the room being clean

Breakfast lady was nice but a lot of things were out of stock (no coffee lids, juice was watered down, no sugar substitutes) Giving atleast 2 stars because the coffee in the lobby is decent 🤷🏼‍♀️

Liz Yvonne

Clean beds, easy access to exits, lots of parking and all the amenities to keep kids happy Pool 😃 breakfast 😃 and wifi! 😃 The pool and laundry room needed some cleaning Fitness room was great, had plenty of towels and many machines! Tv in it too! Overall it’s a great place to stay

Sadly we weren’t able to have any of evening foods or dinner due to staff shortages

Stayed two nights with them No housekeeping given after the first night Only excuses given, short staffed, they need to turn the rooms over

No apologies, no offer to adjust bill So much for that you will be 100% satisfied or they will make it rightWe stayed Mon, Tues, looked pretty empty in parking lot both daysCheap coffee maker, afraid to push the buttons it felt like it was falling apart2 people staying in the room and you offer 1 reg and 1 decafShould have taken the time to read more reviews myself This is a on going issue here Maybe time to get rid of the management who continues making this an acceptable stayThere are plenty of other places

Donna Robichaud

I had a reservation that was to take place after an appointment out of town so that I didn’t have to drive back home in a blizzard I was not able to make it to my appointment due to icy roads and had to turn around and head home I called to cancel my reservation at appr 4:30 pm and the desk clerk told me that only the manager can cancel reservations and he was gone for the day

Then I asked if there was an assistant manager that could authorize it and he was ALSO gone for the day! He told me the best he could do was have me call the manager in the morning Well then I become a no-show and they can charge me the room fee How convenient! I told him I have never had this happen before and I will not be staying here again if this is how they manage this motel I booked it through my AAA account, and couldn’t cancel on their page either so I’m screwed either way

K. Rochelle Harris

I’ve contemplated on writing this review for several reasons: The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained The guest services staff has been a horrifying experience for us! In fact, it has been our housekeeper that has made us feel welcomed when the customer service should have existed at the point of us making our reservation then upon check-inReview your folio and credit card statement carefully! I made our reservation with Tom who it many terms almost was suggesting we not book this location ( wish I’d followed those first instincts)

He made our reservation quoting $134/night and about an hour later I received a confirmation email confirming the rate Check-in was definitely lacking customer service, so much that I asked the guest services rep to soften his tone as we were guests He did do so We asked to extend our stay another night for a family event and was quoted the same rate of $134; I asked why the rate didn’t decrease after the peak time and was told it would decrease slightly, but not by much ( an odd answer) Upon checking out the folio had a different charge for each night ( $134 night 1, $169 night 2, and $144 night 3) with taxes, etc Our total was to me $149 Our credit card was charged a total of $700!!!The guest services rep Ryan advised rates could change and he couldn’t adjust it even though our reservation said $134 He had me email the hotel a copy of our credit card charges and the rate shown on the reservation He advised that his manager Nator would be giving me a call that day After hearing from Nator, I called back and was told Ryan lied All of my other calls and emails have gone unanswered Knowing that I also talked to Nator 3 hours before check-in and he too confirmed our rate as being $134 I’m deeply concerned as to why all of the variances on both our card and guest folio? It seems highly unethical and sad that we’re being forced to file a complaint for what otherwise would have been an excellent stay!

Staff were very friendly and helpful The room (standard w/ king bed) was spacious but there are some design/installation issues that could have been done better (shower door didn’t close all the way, there aren’t many places to hang towels, not enough lights in parts of the room) Overall I would stay there again if I needed to stay in the area though

Mycah Thomas

I came and my room was dirty There was a toenail on the floor and hair all in the bed I didn’t even complain just cleaned it myself

I smoke so I spent the weekend smoking in my car, never ever in the room I brought trash from my car into the hotel room and was told I was smoking in the room when I didn’t I was charged $250 I will be disputing with my bank and not returning

Marianna Matthews

We thought this hotel was nice There’s been a child screaming all morning and we’ve lost sleep because of it Hotel says there’s nothing they can do about it, and that it’s out of their hands

My whole morning has been taken up by loudness banging, crying and whatever else the people in the next room were doing We got placed by the door as well so we could hear everyone going in and out in the AM as well as at night This was extremely unpleasant

A big shout out to the entire staff!I Had two rooms at this location for the weekend I could tell they were short staffed,ONLY because I saw the same workers a lot Will was the only front desk person I ever saw the entire time! This said, everything was in good shape and ran smoothly

I had one need/concern and Will addressed it immediately I was very pleased with my stay I will stay here on my future trips to Ann Arbor

Russ Lyons

Friendly, attentive front desk Unfortunately, there is no safe in the room, so I had to use the front desk a lot The mattress is quite firm

The window opens, but it is too hard to reach it because of the desk blocking it The kitchenette is reasonably well equipped The room was clean The bathroom/sink area was poorly designed: there is no towel rack by the sink, which is separated by a door from the shower/toilet Furthermore, that door had a misaligned latch and strike plate, so it could not latch closed The shower enclosure uses a sliding glass door, but it is poorly designed, leaking water on the floor The (bath) sink drains somewhat slowly The fridge buzzes briefly throughout the day and night The ventilation works well but is a bit tricky to understand Air does not circulate from other rooms, which is good The wifi was good I could hear noisy neighbors through the walls (but they were quiet at night) Near good grocery shopping

Cyntha Gale

Updated:Thank you for your quick responseI really appreciate it and have changed my stars to 5Please upgrade the gym

Missing the 15# weights, stationary bike doesn’t function properly It needs some additional equipment The shower enclosure does not close causing water to pool on the floor Needs a hook for hand towel by the bathroom sink Dishwasher latch broken Ice maker not working

Manager was rude to me I had to get 3 sets of room cards before they worked Bar and restaurant were closed due to staff having covid

Which is understandable but then was told by the manager that breakfast is $20 extra and it’s a big deal around here Besides the manager being rude, I spoke with two other staff members a cleaning lady and a maintenance worker and both were very nice The room was very nice too Clean which is what I wanted Comfortable bed The indoor, outdoor pool was good too Due to the initial up front experience and the way they handled things I won’t be coming back

The hotel was conveniently located near Ann Arbor and also an easy drive to Detroit (45 minutes) The staff and management went above and beyond to accommodate us and make us feel special We were given a room at the top floor (6th floor) since we are Marriott Bonvoy members

This was so nice because we didn’t hear any outside noise and were able to get a good night’s sleep The Assistant General Manager sent an email halfway through our stay asking how it was going and if anything could be improved The room was very nice and clean The bathroom was a little small, but not a big deal I also like that they had the big size bottles of toiletries to use We would give this 5 stars, except we chose this hotel because of the pool My 4 year old son loved the pool and we used it twice during our stay However, we noticed several large patches of ants, especially near the hot tub At one point, my son had several ants on his swim trunks Overall, the hotel was clean and well kept Special attention could made the pool area though

This is possibly the cleanest hotel I have stayed at The staff is very pleasant and 0phelpful We were informed at check in there was no daily housekeeping but told us to ask for what ever we needed

On Saturday staff tapped on our door and offered free bottled water, towels and coffee The lobby bar is spacious and offers plenty of options to visit with friends and family The day before we arrived I received at email to welcome us Also the weekend weather report and a couple local eating options With all the choices we have today I belive the little things count Sheraton brand is my go to hotel chain

This is an extremely nice hotel, and the staff is top-notch! Myself and 2 colleagues ended up here as a last-minute schedule change We were tired and hungry Chris was amazing at check in, even going above and beyond to call the restaurant and have them hold a table for us as they were just about done seating guests for the night

We dropped our bags in our rooms, and headed over for a PHENOMENAL dinner Everything was fantastic, made in house, and our server, Dallas, was also exceptional! This could not have made for a better ending to a long and stressful dayThe rooms were very nice, beds comfortable, and showers SOOO relaxing! The musical mirrors are a nice feature, too! As someone who spends about 150 nights a year in (mostly 4-star) hotels, this is among my best experiences! Thank you Weber’s!

Tracy Schmidt

Very accommodating to special requests! Nice rooms Beds are squishy soft like giant marshmallows If you like that kind of thing it’s perfect

If you like a firm bed do not stay here Giving five stars even though I dislike soft beds, because everything else was great and they were quite nice, and the softness of the bed is probably what most people prefer anyway

Kaycee Brunell

This hotel will always be my favorite, I have been visiting since I was very young with my grandparents (when they had a slide into the pool) My husband took me back last year for my birthday and it was so much fun We loved exploring the hotel, looking at all the famous people that have stayed, the restaurant reminds me of the titanic, the retro game room, and so much more

The pool at night on the adult time is just amazing a relaxing We will be going back soon!

This is a beautiful hotel with a lot of historical portrait all around The rooms are nice and clean but they are like your a standard hotel rooms The event rooms are nice and big and you can decorate them how you like

The staff was very friendly and helpful for everything And the food was okay it looked really pretty The only thing is the parking is very minimal so if you are there for an event you might have some walking to do But it’s really close to the mall and other restaurant so there is a lot of things to get into around the hotel as well Overall I would recommend staying at this hotel it’s nice and a good location

I have been meaning to write this review for months now and am finally remembering! My husband and I got married here October 16 2021 We had our ceremony in the courtyard area outside and our reception inside in the grand ballroom Let me start by saying that everything was truly beautiful, exactly how we imagined it to be decorated and Leah is absolutely fantastic at what she does! She is a great wedding coordinator and incredibly kind and accommodating!A few key things that really stood out to my husband and I and made the experience that much better for us:•My bridal party was a little too big for the bridal suite that they let brides use, so we were able to get the suite my husband and I stayed in the night of our wedding a day early so morning of we could have access to it to get ready

•I was dead set on having my ceremony outdoors and it didn’t rain the day of, but it was wet from rain the day before, they put mats down over the super wet parts and had guests avoid that area for sitting/standing•And the BIGGEST thing for us, I have a gluten allergy and so do a few of my family members, all of the food (except the vegetarian dish) were prepared gluten free so that I didn’t have to worry about anything and possibly getting sick on my wedding day (The guests didn’t even know it was gluten free!) And they were extremely accommodating of any other dietary restrictions while the food was still delicious (Dairy free, nut allergy etc)And at the end of the night, the staff helping with our reception loaded up a cart with our decorations, gifts and brought it all to our room!Thank you to the wonderful staff, we had a very memorable wedding and it was exactly how we imagined it to be!!

Probably years late writing this, but I am able to have an honest opinion now from both sides I was a guest there about 10 years ago and had a wedding reception there The food was excellent, the ballroom was beautiful and clean, and the staff kept everything running so smoothly, that I always remember and cherish that time I had with my family and friends

The room was clean and comfortable, and they left complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and champagne My only complaint was the thermostat was broken in the room at the time, so we wound up checking out a bit early to go on our trip But I’m certain maintenance got on it after the fact, as I’ve seen things are taken care of as soon as possible We were only staying really a few hours after the reception so it wasn’t a big enough deal to call about10 years later, I work there part time so I’ve gotten to see more of the ins and outs of things I’m new so I don’t really have an opinion bias as of yet, and can see through the eyes still of a prior guest I’m still trying to understand the back end storage system, but the first thing I noticed and continue to notice when I walk in is how clean in general the place is in the guest areas at least that I’ve been to so far I’ve worked custodial jobs at other places, and it’s not typical that things appear that clean by the end of the day The attention to detail throughout the day that the staff gives really shows Nobody can ever be 100% perfect, but my first impressions from the culture there so far is that they strive for that, and seem to care about their workers as they care about the guests Even if COVID has altered the way services in most hotels run (as I’ve experienced on travels to other hotels), Kensington places an emphasis on guest care regardless what position their employees hold, and everyone tries to chip in to get things doneSo far my opinion is that I would be comfortable staying at Kensington and would gladly do a reception there again
