We had been driving all through the night and stopped early morning The staff were so kind to let us check in early The halls had a pleasant very clean smell unlike many other hotels we’ve stayed at

Our room was was large, modern, clean smell and welcoming The ONLY thing that wasn’t clean was the bathroom mirror but that’s not a big deal Fantastic location Starbucks, Panera bread, cold stone, a movie theater going in and many other stores all in walking distance By far the best comfort Inn we have stayed at Thank you for the last minute accommodations for our family to get some much needed sleep

ecayn1

Disappointed because pool temp closed Main reason for choosing hotel Also, no bathtub- prob why no pics of full bathroom where I booked

No ice bag either Overall tho, nice hotel & good location I probably would have got a better room if I didn’t go through a third party I suggest calling I had to make sure of availability of their amenities before booking so you can make the most informed decision

Hayley Currier

The staff was welcoming and kind, but that’s really the only positive I have The elevators were covered in stains and smelled like pee

The hallway carpeting wasn’t much better and also carried an odorThe rooms themselves were fine besides the dinged up walls and the noisy AC unitBreakfast was very “eh” The waffle machine didn’t work, the fruit was bad and so was the ketchupNot impressed for the price

This Hampton Inn is, by far, the best hotel in the Raleigh area that I have stayed in The rooms are gorgeous, impeccably clean, spacious and functional Every staff member that I have ever encountered has been welcoming and friendly

The complimentary breakfast is always great with lot’s of options The location is convenientI’ve stayed in many hotels and I can tell this one is run with great care and attention to detail Stay here- you won’t regret it!

I am a Hilton Honors member Booked room Used AAA discount

Needed to cancel the reservation 5 days in advance of my stay Called the Hampton Inn facility direct No answer This went on for 11 tries All the time I was also doing an online chat with Hilton Honors and was told the reservations were non refundable I challenged that They suggested they I contact them directly! HELLO???? 11 tries and no answer…what do I need to do- drive there? I finally got my husband who is a platinum member to call corporate Got it cancelled, however THE REPRESENTATIVE tried calling the facility direct with her personal cell phone and also no one answered FINALLY she used her resources and contacted the General Manager who agreed to cancel the reservation Note that all the while this was happening, I continued to call the facility direct…On the 12th try I was finally connected to a recording that directed me to an option to EDIT my reservation The front desk must have been asleep in that back room where they hide I cannot imagine front desk being that busy to not be able to answer the phone that is ringing incessantly!!!!! SLACKERS THERE ARE OTHER PLACES NEARBY TO STAY ALWAYS, ALWAYS, check cancellation policy because it is HIDDEN behind “ flexible date change options” PROCEED WITH CAUTION THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY QUICKLY BUT ARE SLOW OR DIFFICULT TO REFUND OR ADJUST!! Corporate Office will be advised of this situation Should not have taken me 45 min to cancel / “edit”

My daughter reserved a room back in December to have her fiance’ a surprise birthday party Today a week before the party she was informed they could not have the event, all of a sudden they couldn’t accommodate the number of guests Customer service fail!! Good thing we all hadn’t booked our rooms to stay

This poor service resulted in a loss all the way around Don’t make plans with them!!!

Me and my girlfriend just left the hotel and it was a excellent experience We live nearby but we went to stay so we can grill with friends and get in the pool Super excellent stay

2 days of excellent service Workers went above and beyond to keep the place cleaned Workers went above and beyond to give us everything we needed and even to get a new propane tank for the grill Front desk lady was excellent and gave us what we needed! Maintenance was excellent All of those workers needs a raise no matter how much they’re getting! Breakfast was good and delicious! Our hotels we get out of town sucks compared to this excellent hotel! I wish we can get service like this when we leave town! Excellent Excellent! Not 5 stars but 10!

Jody Eley

Absolutely, not what you expect from Hilton We clearly were interrupting the front desk, she seemed really bothered to help The entire hotel is in needed of renovation

The microwave in the room was broken so they threw a very small microwave on the counter Upon arrival the nightstand was falling over, I had to shimmy under it for it to stand Bathroom sink cracked No sheets or blankets for pull out bed and in asking the front desk, they seemed again very bothered to be asked for anything and hand us sheet nothing else My husband and I are Diamond members and have been to Hiltons all over the US and this was the worst experience If we had not used points that were not refundable we would of left immediately very happy it was not a long stay Location is the only benefit

Kristin McGraw

We’ve stayed here probably 4 times because we have a student at NCSU, but haven’t been here for about 2 years because of the pandemic Everything has gone downhill We are HIlton Diamond members which was not recognized when we checked in either by thanking us for being diamond members, which every other Hilton brand hotel has done, offering us an upgrade or even the 2 bottles of water we’re supposed to get

This is the first time staying with a very well-behaved pet We were given a room clearly given to previous pet owners based on the pet pee odor as soon as we walked in The bathroom needs serious renovation (the toilet is even crooked), and the beds need replacing I’ve never slept in a more uncomfortable bed The wifi keeps shutting off every five minutes so we can’t work on devices When I took our dog out at 3:30 AM, the desk clerk was sleeping on a couch in the lobby If I hadn’t cashed in points to reserve this room for 2 nights I would cancel the second night and find another pet friendly hotel Seriously Hilton, this is disgraceful

This hotel has pros and consPros: the door locks The bathroom fixtures worked

The sheets were cleanCons: everything is ratty Most surfaces didn’t appear clean Things are broken AC in the room I was in was moderately quiet for a few minutes at a time, but when the compressor turned on, it was loud, and sounded like it might fall out of the wall When the compressor turned off, it was quieter again Tough to sleep next to that Breakfast was pretty awful

Roger Stanton

You get what you pay for Except here Selected the Comfort Suites because it was appx 40% more expensive than our other options in the area

The pictures looked decent enough, thought it was perhaps a newer property with nicer things — including a nice staffWrong on all counts: service was somewhere between less than hospitable and total indifference, water pressure in shower was nonexistent, breakfast was probably the best the place has to offer and the scrambled eggs were like they had been washed in a bucket of water, the location couldn’t possibly be “new” as it’s so badly wornSleep is the top concern wherever I’m staying overnight, and “Comfort” shouldn’t even be in this location’s name The air conditioner quit cooling the room and made sleep on the hardened mattress impossible Checkout was smooth, and welcome: drop room key in fishbowl at front desk and don’t look backMy advice, find a better place and save your money

michael miller

we are just now checking in and getting to the room so at the moment I’m going to mark it three stars, So far everything is great! Front desk was very polite and helpful, check-in was fast and without any problems (we booked online with a 3rd party) the room is clean and well taken care of, this will be a one night review stay so we will be updating after breakfast for a final reviewFULL REVIEW— so as the clothes out to my review I have absolutely nothing that I can say negatively about this hotel, we had a great night sleep the hotel was quiet throughout the evening the front desk appeared to be manned at all times and having had an opportunity to utilize the gym the only complaint I would have is that there was no hand sanitizer at the time, the shower in the bathroom had great water pressure, tub drain nicely And all appliances in the room were working perfectly and in good clean order, Should we be in need of a close by staycation this would definitely be the 1st on my list, I highly recommend

Upon arrival, check in staff was very rude I don’t know why I continued to be friendly despite the way I was being treated

He just made my whole visit unpleasant On a brighter note My room was clean and my bedding was fresh The bed was comfy I wanted to see if the hotel had a a la carte item for sale, so I called to the front desk to see if they did Once again the same front desk person was rude he assumed I was trying to get a freebie, and rudely explained to me why they couldn’t give that item away I said I wanted to know if there was any u could buy? There wasn’t , which was all he needed to say I guess my profile didn’t meet his standards!Breakfast in the morning was nice a good variety and kept clean The woman was very friendly Upon checkout I was treated much better by a very pleasant woman Thank goodness!I feel if People don’t like people they should not work in customer service!!!!

Jonathan Fletcher

Very nice, updated hotel The staff were amazing – friendly and knowledgeable We came with a group of 8 teenagers for an event in the area and they had no trouble or complaints with accommodating our group

The breakfast was excellent for a hotel breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised to find bacon on the buffet The rooms themselves were recently updated and very nice and clean Bring your own K-cups for use in the in-room Kuerig Their options on that are limited but available Although we didn’t utilize it, the proximity to a Cracker Barrell (just a hop and skip from the front door) could be an added bonus We will return!

We picked this hotel based on reading previous reviews here and at surrounding pet friendly hotels We were so pleased with our stay here! The room was clean, sheet were clean (and smelt fresh too)! The two woman at the front desk who helped us check in were very friendly! They also don’t seem to be discriminatory towards different pet breeds and sizes, which is always a plus in my mind!! Would definitely recommend and stay here again

Milton Nolan

My first week there was ok When I entered my room, it smelled like fish Someone had heated up fish in the microwave

It should have been cleaned much better The room was clean despite the smell I went and purchased some air freshener as the front desk did not have any cleaning suppliesThe room was quiet and the AC worked greatThe breakfast was good as expectedThe staff was friendly

Juanita Covarrubias

Made an online reservation looking for decent hotel in Goldsboro NC while on a last minute trip to visit my son Arrived and check was smooth and quick I appreciated the well lit hallways to the room

I stayed in a king size studio The room had a kitchen with a stove and full size fridge which I wasn’t expecting There was silverware and plates and bowls There was a big closet/pantry with extra pillows/blankets/ironing board and iron There was a big desk area and a couch The bed and pillows were very comfortable There was a “normal” door to the bathroom, not a slide door! If I had stayed longer I definitely would have utilized the kitchen! I also loved that they had a sign of necessities/kitchen appliances you could borrow! There was continental breakfast that consisted of waffles, sausage biscuits, oatmeal, juice and coffee Overall, my stay was pleasant and the rate of the room was fair I will stay there again next time I’m in town

We stayed back in July 2021 The lady working the breakfast was phenomenal She was all by herself but she could multi task so well

Truly professional The gentleman working the front desk was polite and courteous I would recommend this hotel to anyone! But the fact that its on New Bern Avenue and I grew up in the city of New Bern doesn’t hurt either Ha ha

Amanda Deason

Parking lot was very small for us to park Clerk was very nice and welcoming Our room smells like someone had been smoking pot in it, the exhaust fan didn’t qork in the bathroom so it made the room feel like a sauna, in addition to the fact that the ac wouldn’t keep the temp in the room regulated and so obnoxiously loud it kept us up most of the night

I was in town to take my state boards and needed a good night’s sleepthat definitely DID NOT HAPPEN! We are high level IHG rewards members, so we used our points to cover the room, it showed This must be where the guests that use their rewards get stuck and the “paying” guests get put in the nicer rooms

We stayed one day and one of the room was infested with ants We only came to know following day after my family were bitten by ants and it was not acceptable When we checked out we informed our concern to the front desk and she told me she needs to talk to the general manager

They talked behind the counter and she came back and told me they can offer to give $20 dollars We were very frustrated and complaint if anyone can take the room when ants are everywhere However she told me that’s what they can offer! Manager didn’t show up to us and apologized but left the scene well before we have been in IHG hotels numerous times but this never has been a concern until now We asked this is going to be a reputable damage to IHG if this is how they treat customers She was indifferent to the situation We did not accept their offer and contacted IHG They told me that this can be an insurance claim and this is not acceptable and escalated the claim to the top management After we left, hotel’s general manager finally called us and apologized and told me that he can refund one of the two rooms to settle the case We told them that this is very disappointing We are not asking for any refund or any monetary compensation but sought for an apology at the time we raised the concern Hotel has sanitary rating A everywhere on their walls but ants were also everywhere The manager only contacted us to apologize only after IHG reached out and told them the possible contract revoke in the future! IHG needs to better manage their hotels! We have stayed in many different locations in the past but this truly disappoints us If they want to keep the business in a right way, they do need to manage their customers damn seriously!

Mary Holmes-Burgess

Rooms were quiet and clean We just needed a place eto lay our heads for the night as we were just traveling through The beds were a little hard but pillows were comfortable

Room was perfect for the two of us and there are plenty of places to choose from for eating We needed to get up and going early and they gave us a wake up call Would stay here again if we were in the area

Rob C

The room above ours sounded like there was a soccer match going on until late in the night Front desk absolutely refused to address the problem after hours of asking We stayed two nights and will never stay at this Holiday Inn location again

Typically Holiday Inn has great rooms with staff that care… not this one! Don’t waste your money here, go check in at any of the other hotels within a 1/4 mile of this place Room was semi clean and breakfast was as advertised

This hotel was overall very friendly and clean There were no issues with dirty sheets, towels, or dirt and we did not run into any bugs Could be a little noisy between 10 pm to 12 pm, but nothing too crazy

Breakfast was good and there were great options The muffins were really good Coffee isn’t amazing, but it was okay Also pet friendly if you are looking for a place to take your pups Rooms slightly dated, but it wasn’t bad and it was still clean

The best thing about this hotel is the staff and the bull We had to move rooms three times and we were paying with our points How embarrassing for this hotel

The first room almost had a fire right in front of me because of a lamp When I say almost had a fire I mean we could have burned the entire place down on that lamp We asked to move and went to another room that was not clean They removed us immediately and moved us to another room The air conditioner leaked all night onto the carpet This hotel is going down I would expect for Hilton property to write me a personal letter I could’ve called the fire department immediately It was that close Please make sure that this place has been inspected The staff was very apologetic and nice and the pool was in great condition The beds sucked

Matty Roop

The sink was clogged and was supposed to get fixed while I was out for the day It wasn’t done when I came back 9 hours later Instead of giving me a new room, I had to wait for maintenance

The toilet ended up being clogged up also The TV stand had gunk all over it The 2nd day I came back to the room from work, my towels on the floor was missing, but I left the do not disturb sign on the door I ended up finding the towels submerged in my sheets on the other side of the bed where I wasn’t sleeping My overall stay was lousy

The hotel felt like a safe place to spend the night Not a lot of traffic of people, it seemed clean, bedrooms, bathrooms and the cafeteria The beds are too soft for my test but that’s very personal

Breakfast was typical, good to begin the day on the road More fruit and of better quality would have been betterThe room was quiet, we slept good

Mali Blunt (Mali)

I really enjoyed my stay The staff was kind (Chris was particularly awesome) and the cleaning staff were also very kind I was having issues with my card at some point and a person cleaning the rooms helped me while I got my card key covered

I tried to give her a tip for her service but she wouldn’t take it It is about 30 to 40 minutes away from Raleigh, BUT there are still plenty of eateries and cinema nearby I also enjoyed the hot breakfast AND whatever little towel creature this is! (Yoda perhaps?) So cute! Overall, I would come back here

Simone Fazio

We stopped here for the night in our way to Florida and then again going back home It was a good experience because the hotel is new, in a new area, the room was big with two beds and so much room around, same for the bathroom I need to say the place is really in good conditions

This was the first time for us in a Beat Western Prices are on average, we paid less the first night, something around 40$ cheaper than the second night 19 days later Staff is friendly Lots of restaurants in the area and the Carolina premium outlet is less than 5 minutes far by car

for a 3 star rated hotel I give them 5 stars The hotel is very clean and updated The location is right off 95

It won’t disappoint The best thing about the hotel is truly the staff Crissi and Sarah both went out of there way to find me a room on the first floor They were super busy at the front desk, but immediately recognize you and attend to your needs Thanks a million ladies

Darcy O’Brien

The hotel itself is decent, clean, the staff is friendly However, the bed (at least ours) was on top of some hollow metal bed frame so every time you move on the bed, the metal below you pops and makes a lot of noise It’s like putting a mattress on a filing cabinet

If you don’t move at all while you sleep, you’ll probably be fine But if you do, or have a dog that might not like the sound (ours was afraid of it), this may not be a place for you The walls are also very thin We could hear people in the shower next door to us & hear their entire conversation I thought they were in the hallway, turns out they were next doorOverall, the hotel is decent and a good location Super easy to get back on the highway if that’s why you’re stopping & staying in Smithfield

hannah

Stayed here for one night on a weekend night passing through from Florida to NY My expectations were higher based on the website/photos We stayed with our two small cats and that was an extra $60 to the rate

The hotel has a nice spacious lobby area The room seemed ok at first but during use it was not up to standard The beds are on a metal base that is extremely loud anytime you move in the night The pillows are very firm and uncomfortable The tub was dirty and stained Walls are thin and can hear everything your neighbors are doing through the vents in the bathroom Overall I don’t believe the value was there, we like that it’s a pet friendly option but it was not worth what we paid

Overall, this hotel is outstanding We had an issue with our reservation the first night that we checked in, but Darren, the general manager, called us first thing in the morning, and straightened things out immediatelyDarren was extremely professional, friendly, and willing to help in any way possible

Our refrigerator failed on our second night It was fixed within a couple hours, and we were reimbursed for the cost of lost food immediately This kind of service is a rare thing to find, and it made our stay an absolute delightThe full-size fridge, two burner stove (complete with pots and pans) made meals convenient The washers and dryers are free to use if you have your own detergentThe hotel was clean and well-maintained inside and out, the rates were reasonable, and the entire staff is outstandingI will absolutely stay again, and recommend that you take a look at the Candlewood if you’re in the area

Nicole Stanley

I had surgery on June 1st so we decided to come down the night before and stay and leave the day after The room was clean and well maintained The beds were very comfortable

Close to restaurants Checking in and out was a breeze Very polite employees The day of departure, we went out and our vehicle wouldn’t start It’s a brand new vehicle so we knew it was the battery My husband went in and asked if anyone could give us a jump and the manager came out with a jump box and it started right up Will definitely stay here again!

Sally Jones

I stayed at this hotel 3-4 nights a week for almost a year traveling for work The staff is the absolute best and treated me like family The rooms and bed are very comfortable

I switched jobs and no longer traveling but would absolutely recommend staying here If I ever travel to Raleigh again I will be be back Thanks to the staff and everyone there for testing me with such kindness and warmth!!!

Clean, comfortable room Nothing fancy The room had a few damaged spots on the wall but they were small

The room was probably over-priced but that’s more a result of the market No complaints about the room or the staff Wasn’t crazy about the $100 damage deposit I had to pay upon checking in – that was unexpected and not disclosed beforehand But if you’re just passing through and need a clean room for a night or two, this is a good option

Hannah Elford

Booked through Bookingcom 5 days in advance Had a confirmation email and number, but hotel did not have the information for our stay

Thankfully, they had room and they treated it as a “walk in” When I pulled the comforter bad, there was a hair on the sheets Old fashioned rubber bath mat grossed me out A/C unit did not cool effectively Overall price was good, but I would have rather paid more for a much cleaner, renovated, and comfy-feeling place

Sharon Futral

We were there to attend a concert at the Amphitheater and found this hotel nearby Very, very pleased with the hotel It was exceptional clean, fresh/modern and really like the layout and design of the King room

Someone gave a lot of thought into the design for it was spacious and very practical with design and elements Best Mini fridge I’ve encountered on my travels with great depth and overall capacity The bathroom was spacious, and the full wall length vanity was a plus for unloading both our toiletry bags Used their shampoo/conditioner and was very impressed with the brand (RAIO) – kept touching my hair throughout the day for it was soooo soft Ended up ordering the product from Amazon The bed was very, very comfortable The front desk and hotel personnel were super friendly, astute, and go out of their way to help you The hotel is conveniently located to various restaurants and shopping areas yet secluded from noise and traffic I would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area and highly recommend this hotel!!

Genuinely one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had! The staff was incredibly friendly, the rooms were large and very clean and very well appointed, the setting was secluded and relaxing, and it was very quiet It’s both family and adult friendly, and the 24 hour coffee was delicious I can not say enough good things about this hotel

I will definitely be back!

The staff group were incredible I received a cold bottle of water when I came and when I left Breakfast was good, and the bed was great

Little dated hotel, but due to Covid understandable The staff just impressed me so much I have never written a review before, but the entire staff deserved itThe manager should be proud It’s hard to get a staff like they haveI don’t stay in the area often, but will never stay anywhere else

Friendly staff, clean facilities, and great location The restaurant had good quality food and excellent service The rooms are spacious and clean

I would recommend this hotel to anyone It’s also the only place I have seen a top stop spinning standing straight up It didn’t fall over Then it happened again Very well balanced top I guess I made it from washers, nuts, and bolts

We travel from Florida to Massachusetts and back each summer We always make it a point tostay at this hotel The Staff is very friendly and really nice

There is a “50’s style diner right out front that’s great as well and super convenient! The rooms are clean and comfortable It’s also located about a mile from Interstate 95 so it’s not noisy

The Candlewood Suites (located in Rocky Mount) is a great location for a quick overnight stay, especially for travelers! Our room was clean, and the staff were very nice A huge bonus is that they take dogs! The reason I’m giving 4/5 stars is because our room’s A/C quit working right around the time we were getting ready to go to bed This required an unexpected late-night room change, which was a little inconvenient

However, the staff prioritized this issue and offered us a new room quite quickly, which was very helpful! Overall, it was a good experience

DID NOT HONOR MY GUARANTEED RATE! Made a reservation on January 25,for a 1-night stay, on April 30, at a rate of $165 Rec’d a confirmation email stating “…from the time the reservation is made, until the time of arrival, the confirmed rate is guaranteed” Upon arrival and check-in, I was handed a portfolio to initial, with a rate of $260

When I questioned the rate change, I was told it was due to a baseball tournament, and a concert in the area However, when I received an email reminder of my upcoming reservation, there was NO mention of a rate change The older gentlemen at the front desk was quick to tell me “you can cancel” and stated proudly “we can sell that room to someone else” NO apology or remorse for my inconvenience whatsoever As a Gold Elite member, I am truly appalled at the way the staff handled this situation! IHG needs to do a better job of training and managing its personnel at this location!

You get what you pay for Except here Selected the Comfort Suites because it was appx 40% more expensive than our other options in the area

The pictures looked decent enough, thought it was perhaps a newer property with nicer things — including a nice staffWrong on all counts: service was somewhere between less than hospitable and total indifference, water pressure in shower was nonexistent, breakfast was probably the best the place has to offer and the scrambled eggs were like they had been washed in a bucket of water, the location couldn’t possibly be “new” as it’s so badly wornSleep is the top concern wherever I’m staying overnight, and “Comfort” shouldn’t even be in this location’s name The air conditioner quit cooling the room and made sleep on the hardened mattress impossible Checkout was smooth, and welcome: drop room key in fishbowl at front desk and don’t look backMy advice, find a better place and save your money

we are just now checking in and getting to the room so at the moment I’m going to mark it three stars, So far everything is great!

Really nice hotel, reason why I typically choose a Hilton when I have to stay somewhere Place was very clean and all the staff were friendly I was a little sad we could only stay the one night

We even got some cookies after we checked in, which is a nice touchThe breakfast was good for $10/person, a much better deal than trying to find a place to eat in Raleigh I have to give a shout out to the lovely lady at the breakfast buffet this morning, she had a unique name and I can’t remember it One of the guests was in a wheelchair and came down for breakfast She set up a little table, and made his plate and some coffee, that was soo sweet of her to go out of her way to do that I thought I felt bad since most people don’t tip after paying for breakfast, but she definitely deserves it!Great place to stay for a good deal, you won’t be disappointed!

The customer service was excellent Very professional and they were wearing facial mask However when I checked in the room, there were Doritos chips ALL over the floor

Under the furniture and even near the restroom I called the front desk and notified them, and they said okay Also, the coffee cup lids had sticky orange substance UNDER the lid as if it had already been on top of a cup Not sure I will be staying at this property again I was informed through the check in staff member that this property was under renovation, and by the end of this year (2 more months) this property will be a Hilton owned property I actually look forward to the Hilton experience as the property is convenient for me for work commuting
