First thing they did was ding me for $10 for parking If it’s on “their” website, it isn’t obvious At least the deal on the room was decent

First floor room Room and bathroom are definitely dated, but relatively clean Inside Outside my room are bottles, cans, and cigarette butts on the ground Can’t remember ever seeing that before at any hotel I’ve stayedThat $1000 would have gone to housekeeping You blew that

Rhonda Robinson

4/5only because of all the construction and the pool was closed in 90 degree weather in July! The food was hot, delicious and ready in 5 minutes Staff were attentive to our needs and friendly They welcomed us and met all of our expectations

Cynthia Carbajal

We got our car window shattered in the middle of the night and the hotel does not want to be responsible for it Nothing was taken as there was nothing valuable in there However they have all this “security” driving around when you arrive but all of a sudden have none at night

It doesn’t seem right For the prices this hotel is charging they should have better service or security when it comes to these things

At arrival we got a great customer service from Keith and Morgan at the front desk, they gave us recommendations for dinning and exploring Other staff members weren’t as accommodating ☹️At 9 am we were woke up by the fire alarm and had to exit the rooms without any explanations

Definitely not staying here again

We have been Marriott customers for yearsThis was one of the most disappointing stays we’ve ever hadRoom was described as having a pull out couch

in actuality, it had a pull out chair with a bed that was about as wide as a yoga mat and not long enough for a 5’10” personThere was no bedding for the “pull out bed” and we had to go request it They had no more pillows, so he had to pull a pillow from the bed for the pull out bedThere weren’t enough towels in the roomWe had the do not disturb sign on for all 3 days of our stay Housekeeping still felt it was appropriate to knock on the door first thing every morning, and came into our room while we were gone in spite of the sign being up and us telling them not to clean when they knocked on the door When we raised the issue with the management, the response was “did they steal anything?”The hot tub has a luke-warm tubAll in alla pretty disappointing stay at a Marriott property

The Review Master

We love staying here when we are passing through the lovely city and capital of California, Sacramento Jeanette at the front desk was not only the nicest employee ever, but she was knowledgeable in here line of work and was able to help me and my family with an issue we had with our credit cards Thank you Jeanette!!

I’m sure we aren’t the only ones that chose this location just for you Keep up the hard work!!

Nice, comfortable, spacious room Hotel was quiet Room was clean

Bed was comfortable Minor nitpicks: no microwave in the room, though there was one in the lobby Toilet was on the low and small, though it gave me a chance to work on my quads Breakfast was minimal, apparently because of COVID But they did offer bananas and mandarin oranges and an instant oatmeal bowl, granola bars, and a small packaged sweet roll

This is a nice and clean property with limited services The property does not have enough housekeeping staff If you need towels, toilet paper or anything else, you need to ask the front desk and they will get it for you

The breakfast is OK They do not have as much food variety as other Residence Inn The property is within walking distance to some restaurants, including Famous Burgers and Brew, which is goodThe room has a very small bed and a pull out sofa bed We traveled with an 8 year old, so I had to use the sofa bed It was comfortable, but would prefer having a King size bed with a pull out sofa

Doug Turner

This place is my home away from home I have been deployed to the Rancho Cordova/ Mather area for work for the past 4 years I have logged over 300 nights and have always been totally satisfied

Kristen and the rest of the staff are the best I have seen and I travel all over the statesHighly recommend!

Kelsie Bennett

I stayed for two nights and it was excellent! The front desk was super nice They have breakfast in the morning unfortunately I slept in both days with my daughter so we missed it ! The rooms are really nice I had a kitchen with a dishwasher in my room it had silver ware and pots and pans everything you’d need to cook on the go

The only thing I would say is that if you like really hot showers becareful showering with bathroom door open or smoke alarm will go off Will definitely be back next time in town

Nice clean rooms and friendly staff The gym was great and looks out onto the pool deck This is an older Marriott but really well taken care of so it feels more vintage than “old”

The pool/hot tub deck with waterfalls is a nice touch The waterfalls help mask the traffic noise The only thing I wouldn’t do again is the buffet breakfast in the restaurant But there’s a full Starbucks inside as well

Jennifer W

Pros: AC worked well, was not too loud Bed and pillows were comfortable Water pressure was good

Nice bar/restaurant on site Fridge was nice and coldCons: a little outdated, two lamps were not working, one outlet didn’t work No privacy please tagSatisfactory stay, just expect more from Marriott

Jess

I stayed here for approximately 6 weeks for work I stayed in a double queen room It was spacious for just me, clean

The only thing I hated was the marble type bathroom floor It’s a slipping hazard if you are not careful I ran into no issues, staff is attentive and pleasantThey have a washer and dryer on site, but they are always busy since it is free Nice and clean hot tub and pool I utilized the gym some during my stay They offer free water in the gym and they do have things to clean the equipment once you are finished I had a very pleasant long term stay Many restaurants near the hotel and also you can find groceries

I read a mix of reviews about this place but I liked the management responses to the reviews so we decided to give this place a try I’m VERY glad we did! Parking was easy, free and plentiful Our room was large and extremely clean! I liked not having carpet and the hard-surface floor in our room had clearly been thoroughly scrubbed

Also, we were happy with how absolutely quiet it was overnight so we could sleep well The beds were soft and comfortable The breakfast was perfectway more variety than expected I loved that the cheese omelettes and potatoes were unseasoned which allowed us to season them ourselves Excellent value for the price! We would definitely stay again

Alyssa Rousseau

I usually don’t write reviews, but feel like many of the reviews did not paint this location how we felt First the good The staff was great

They were kind and friendly The breakfast was great as well We did get there pretty soon after they opened, about 6:45 or so (breakfast is from 6-10 every day), but it was fresh, eggs with cheese, sausage, biscuits filled with sausage and eggs, potatoes, sausage gravy, waffle station, cereal, bread and bagels, fruit, juice and coffee We did stop by before leaving about 8:30 one morning and all of the waffle stuff was put away, so it may go fast The location also seemed fairly safe, even though it is a rougher area a few blocks overOne of the reasons we booked the hotel was because it had such great reviews and was recommended for families We were traveling to visit the Zoo and FairyTale town with our young kids, 2 and 4 This is more of a mix between hotel and motel Some rooms are accessible from hallways inside, others are outside through a locked gate, more like a motel We stayed in one of these rooms When we walked in, the smell of cleaning supplies took us back and all windows had been left open They have removed all carpet and replaced it with linoleum floors, our feet were sticking to the floors as we were walking around (we assumed from whatever they used to clean) The beds also shifted on the floors if you leaned against them or bumped them Because of the floors and lack of carpet and padding, you hear every step the people above you make There isn’t a built-in closet, but a freestanding one and desk and cabinets with a fridge and microwave in it These close very loudly with strong magnets Again, you can also hear when your neighbors close theirs Not helpful with small kids if you are trying to open or close them while kids are sleeping The bathroom only had one bar towel rack, a back of door hook would have been helpful, there is basically no counter space, and the toilets don’t have lids Not very friendly for sharing a space with others, or being able to close the lid so kids don’t throw stuff in It gave the bathroom a public restroom feel It would have been nice as well for them to see we reserved the room for 4 people and provide enough bath towels and washcloths for everyone, but I had to request more They provided containers on the wall in the shower for shampoo, conditioner and body wash, the conditioner was empty (only to find out while taking a shower), and they had hand soap and lotion on the wall in the bathroom The lotion was not lotion Overall, this was not what we would have expected for the price or the other reviews

Jojo Dukes

When we first saw the room we were like wow nice! as we entered we could smell that funky rundown motel smell, there was a spill on the table/counter top that was next to the TV Luckily we always take a container of sanitizing wipes with us because I had to get to work and wipe down all table tops, bathroom cupboard top, sink and toilet, the wipes were so dirty, I was surprised because it looked like everything was nice and clean except for that spill On our wall was a bug that looked like a roach that someone smashed but no one cleaned it up

One thing the sheets looked nice and clean We were really happy that we stayed only one night

This was the perfect hotel to stay at while visiting a family member at Sutter Medical across the street Discounted rates are available; just tell the hotel you’re visiting the hospital The location is super convenient, since the main entrance to the hospital is literally a block away

All the staff, from the reservation office and front desk to the restaurant and cafe, were quite friendly and understanding when they realized why we were staying at that hotelThe cafe and restaurant serve delicious food I was there only for breakfast, but they seem to have options for lunch and dinner, along with drinks at the bar In fact, many people seem to visit the cafe and restaurant even if they’re not guests at the hotelThe ambiance is quite trendy and welcoming I’d love to come back to Sacramento someday to see the neighborhood again

Eric Walters

The atmosphere is pristine and upbrow; the Cafe’ Bernardo is superb with a gourmet menu begging a trip from out of town just to eat The top draw, however, is the people: we had Tonya literally roll out the red carpet for my wife and I The location catty-corner from Sutter hospital enabled my mobility-challenged wife to easily stroll to our room

It’s a three-star hotel: but it’s a five in my book!

Ryan Behee

The best hotel experience possible Our unexpectedly long stay was a master class in hospitalityAll needs and desires were quickly provided by the most attentive staff we’ve ever experienced

The entire hotel is gorgeous and clean The room was quiet, the beds are extremely comfortable, and we loved the TV/streaming setup Blackout curtains, powerful AC, and nice views of Midtown gave us every comfort of homeThe location is perfect for visiting Sutter Hospital, with only a block and a half walk to the entrance A bunch of great restaurants, groceries, and services are also within a few blocks Parking can seem tricky in Midtown, but the staff gave good adviceWithout leaving the building, you have a world class bar, The Four Palms, plus one of the best restaurants in the city: Café Bernardo Room service is fast and affordable Every floor has either an ice machine or filtered water The comfortable lobby has a peaceful ambience and a gas fireplace for cooler nightsThe vigilant and personable security unit made us feel completely safe at all timesThe front desk staff is a finely-tuned team of experts Jash, Christina, Alexis, and the other desk agents made us feel like the most important guests they had The housekeeping and maintenance teams were equally accommodating, professional, and generous Without exaggeration, the service here is better than any luxury resortDoubtlessly the finest hotel in Midtown We’ll never stay anywhere else

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend to celebrate her birthday We booked the Mozart room because it had a Jacuzzi tub, fire place and private patio The host was very nice when we checked in and asked us what time we would like breakfast brought to our room etc

He also brought us silverware and dishes for take out we ordered to our room Overall customer service was good However, for a hotel room at almost $300 per night my cleanliness expectations, especially during COVID, were much higher The room was very dusty and had cobwebs on the light fixtures There were still random rose petals and tooth past caps etc left on the floor from the last person’s stay The toilet had brown marks in it and there was hardly any hand soap left in the bathroom Breakfast was very pretty but my wife and I could not eat the waffles They tasted like fried funnel cake but were so chewy I had a hard time cutting them with a knife I honestly wouldn’t have left a review at all but the final straw for me was the pot smoke The manger/ hosts unit backs right up to the room we stayed in The host would stand on their patio backing up to our room and smoke morning and night We could hear him hacking and we couldn’t use the patio at all because it reeked like pot and would fill our room The last morning we were there the whole lobby smelled like pot I don’t care if people smoke but it was very unprofessional to do so in an area that effects your guests Not everyone wants to stay in a $300 hotel room that smells like weed! Anyway the rooms were very pretty, the bed was comfortable and overall the place was very quite

Jay Rose

Such a great experience We went for our 9-year anniversary and had an amazing time Everything from check-in to check out was absolutely flawless

Every little nook and cranny is so adorable The attention to detail in the decorations was amazing I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing timeThe breakfast and bed was delicious, the jacuzzi tub and the room was so relaxing, and the space was impeccably clean!

This is a cool hotel! Right in downtown Sacramento, it’s easy walking distance to numerous good restaurants Parking is an issue There’s not much of it, and it’s first come, first served

I just parked and left my car thereFrom check-in, you go up to the rooms in a cool little elevator, which opens up to a common area with lots of seating All the rooms look out to this area It’s nice and quietThe rooms are what might be the biggest issue for some people They’re small For me, I was there by myself for work, so no biggie It was perfect They’re rather nice, especially considering this is an older hotelSo despite a couple drawbacks that were very minor for me, I’d definitely stay here again

jordan pardo

This hotel is very nice, and in a great location near capitol park The room price is very reasonable, and the room itself is very nice and comfortable This place is very clean, and the atrium on the 2nd floor is a beautiful place to have a cup of coffee in the morning, or unwind with a drink in the evening

The gals at the front desk were very professional and provided excellent customer service This is now, without question, our new hotel we’ll always book with when visiting Sacramento

First time here Very clean all around Our view was of the roof

😆 The hotel location is not the most scenic, but what can you do? Just down the road about 5 min, and you get to the mall, restaurants, etc Lots of receptions here, we enjoyed seeing the fancy dresses The pool served its purpose-it could use a cleaning The hot tub does not work BIG BOO! I’m not surprised, but making a note to myself to check hot tub status at different hotels in advance With AAA we got free parking, which was great gated entrance for safety in the late hours Ohthe toilet is pretty low Not a huge deal, but, a bit surprising to my knees 🤣

Deborah Wallace

This hotel was spotless, the food extremely delicious, the room comfortable, the pool pristine, and the amenities amazing But my favorite part of my stay was the graciousness and friendliness of EVERY staff member that I encountered I did not encounter one staff member who didn’t greet me with a smile, accommodated my needs, and just wanted me to have a nice stay

Tom Sparks

I was in town on business and chose the Hilton Sacramento Arden West to stay at for a few hours Check in was easy The hotel looked very clean and nice! I didn’t get a chance to explore all the amenities and lobby much

Went to the room and just worked for a few hours The room was clean! and the view was nice! Although it was near the freeway I didn’t hear any road noise at all! a huge plus! I would stay there again!

The spot to pull over for valet parking is a nightmare to get to (if it isn’t full by the time you get there, so get there extra extra early if you want to park there) We parked a street or two down and had to walk 6 minutes with all of our stuff to the hotel Once we got there we walked up and asked to check in during which we were told the room was somehow not ready (check in was said to be at 3pm and we got there at 5pm)

We waited and eventually got up but didn’t get much time to enjoy it since we had a concert that night The guy checking us in gave us a whopping $25 discount (off a very expensive room) which was then null and void considering we had to pay for overnight parking in a totally different garage because they don’t have enough parking to accommodate the rooms Not to mention they overbooked and screwed us on the wait I realize it’s not the fault of the front desk staff, they just work there However, I’m sure they were all well aware that a concert this big was going to be in town and could’ve prepared themselves a little bit better for that Overall, not impressed with how things were handled ESPECIALLY the parking Wouldn’t recommend for concerts/big events Just go to a Holiday Inn or something else I can say the beds were comfortable though, if that’s something you’re looking for

Desiree Lee

My daughter and I were in Sacramento one night for a concert at the Golden 1 Event Center This hotel is hands-down the best located to the arena We literally walked around the corner

The room was modest compared to other Hyatt hotels I’d stayed in the past We had two queen beds, and they were comfortable My daughter got creative with the pillows on her bedThe bathroom was small There was only a shower, no tub It was serviceableI signed up for a rewards program during check-in I asked the desk clerk if there were any welcome perks for new members She gave us a room upgrade to one with a view of the Capitol She also gave us extra shampoo and conditioner at no chargeThe fridge and coffee maker were housed in a cabinet with a lovely floral aestheticOne thing I found odd at the time, but in retrospect it’s probably due to COVID-19 measures is that all the drawers were empty No city guide, no hotel directory, no pen and paper NadaOne aspect I really liked was the split-design trash can It had one side for waste and one for recyclablesNow the bum end of the visit The hotel has no self-service parking I had the choice of valet parking for $3750 (which I could bill to the room) or try my luck with a public garage two blocks away Valet it wasThere’s no complimentary breakfast There’s an on-site restaurant, but we didn’t use it

John Sandoval

To be honest, all Hyatt Centric places I have visited do not disappoint This is no exception The hotel service was excellent, the rooms are very comfortable and spacious

My only two complaints are no suitcase racks provided and the metro runs operates around the hotel My room was on the 7th floor and I hardly heard the metro My view of the state capitol was superb Thank you hotel staff for your excellent hospitality Definitely will visit again

I’ve stayed at this location before and it was fineRecently I was In Town for the Miranda Lambert concert When i went to the lobby to check in the man behind the counter acted like my being there was a nuisance

I paid a early check in fee because I arrived 15 hour early which was fine I also paid a parking fee which was new as I didn’t have to pay it when I was there a couple months earlier, but still I was fine paying itWhen we got to our room we unloaded our luggage and crashed in bed for a nap after driving for hours I went to use the restroom and the toilet seat had urine dried all over itI went back to let the front desk know and he just looked at me with an annoyed face and said he would send someone up to clean itnever apologized or anythingAfter waiting for 20 min no one showed up to clean the bathroom so I went back to the lobby to request a new roomI wouldn’t have even been upset about the situation if the customer service was betterOh and they no longer offer the continental breakfast like they did when I booked So the service went down and the fees went up

Greg Mullins

The best thing about this spot was the location 2 blocks from the venue, The golden one Arena The Room had a funk of urine we couldn’t quite place where it was

Thank God we were only there for one night, and when we got in the Room after the show it really didn’t matter The staff is extremely friendly and will go out of their way to help I think the only thing they need to improve on is the quality of their Room cleaning For the price and the location it was perfect for our needs

Josh Kimbrough

What can I say, you get what you pay for Definitely not the Hyatt but a nice place to stay I do have to say the room was clean, the Linens were clean, and it was a good place to rest our heads

It’s a short one block walk into Old Sacramento which was very convenient The staff is also very friendly and accommodating We did not eat the continental breakfast so I cannot give any feedback on that

Felt overwhelmed by the druggy filled community in there Serious dealers dealing resin, no policing what so ever Felt unsafe a lot of the time and shaken up by the large homeless population in an around the building

Beds were amenable and could have been more soft Generally a horrible experience with a minority hosteller which could have been monitored more carefully by more consisentious staff

Very very nice access to well equipped kitchen Very nice private rooms Nice dorms for good price

Very very clean no worries of any type of bugs Staff is nice and all the other guests who come through are awesome company Old Victorian home with lots of history Even if you live in Sacramento I recommend staying in a private room for at least one night

We stayed in room 204, which had two queen beds The room was basic but clean It was equipped with a tiny fridge and coffee maker

The hallway door had a gap at the bottom which allowed hall light into the room and hall noise But the major problem was an interior door which opened up into the adjoining room next door You could hear a pin drop through that door At midnightwe were sound asleepthe individuals staying in the room on the other side of the connecting door decided to have a lengthy conversation We could hear every word

While the hotel was clean and quiet There is a $5 parking charge and $995 “data service charge”, they do not tell you about

Also, even through the AC read that it was was 65 in the room it felt more like 78 and muggy Did not get comfortable sleep due to the room being so muggy When I google “data service charge” , it seems Marriott is the only one that pops up as charging this fee

Rooms are newly renovated and update to date Very roomy Full suite with mini kitchen with a stove, sink, dishwasher, full size fridge and utensils

Close to restaurants and can easily walk to Front desk was really helpful in getting me a room for early checking in, due to I have to attend a wedding that evening Very welcoming, I appreciate it alot and recommend this place

I cannot see the current renovations solving the main problem with this hotel, which is the windows and walls are paper thin One the side of the hotel faces a dance club that plays music until 2 to 3am We could make out the words to the music on the 6th floor

Construction loudly started 7 to 8am each morning The voices in the hallway and nearby rooms were audible; but minor in comparison to ridiculous music and constructionThese problems could have been mitigated Construction could have started later We could have been placing on the opposite side from the dance club, or on a higher floor As a Marriot Titanium customer, this seems like basic considerations that should have occurredI will never stay at this hotel again

Pros:- nice space for studio room- kitchen amenities plus- nice bathroom- phone charger everywhereCons:- no windows to open, AC gets too cold or hot, my adult dog with respiratory issue died in the room- not ideal for guest over 70 without company- no bathroom exhaust fan, bring odor spray- TV shuts off after some time- bring your Netflix id and password, not free in hotel

Let’s face it, if you’re staying here, it’s because of budget concerns That being said, the rooms are spacious and clean The bed in the room that I got was stiff and very springy, some might like that but it’s not my cup of tea

You will be in a bad neighborhood, but they do have parking lot security that makes their presence known Walls are not very sound resistant If you’re coming on business or traveling solo, it’s an acceptable place to stay I would not bring family

Calla Flower

The lobby area was ok but the room that I got was dirty They don’t do a good with cleaning I had just checked in

It was around 5pm already when one of the cleaning ladies tried to open my door she must have a master key it was a good thing that I used the lock-lever on the door to secure the door from the inside When she couldn’t open the door she said something in Spanish and left The carpet is worn The elevator is old and shakes

Vladimir Gusiatnikov

This is a budget place Some Hamptons are fancier and this ain’t one Rooms are clean and well kept, showing some age

Beds are comfortable enough, pillows are basic If your room faces the freeway, you’ll get freeway sounds Unlike a previous reviewer, I didn’t find the neighborhood “bad”, it’s a working-class Sacramento hood, but then my tolerance is likely higher than that of most There is a sizable bank of EV chargers in the parking lot Some were ICEd out but not to the detriment of the several EV-owning guests Both of the two chargers I used worked in a straightforward way, price is $029/kWh I don’t know what the top charging speed is

Nice hotel and in an excellent location During the week it’s full of business people which adds to a relaxed and professional atmosphere At the weekend however, it fills with a younger, more party orientated crowd

Pool can become crowdedGym is great but is in a bizarre locationWe had to repeatedly ask to get our room cleaned which was a bit strangeStaff are for the most part friendly and helpfulWorth noting the bar shuts at 10pm

My family and I stopped by to attend a graduation ceremony at the Golden 1 center The hotel was walking distance from the venue and had many great spots along the wayThe room was very clean, quiet, and we felt very secure throughout our stay

The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpfulWe had no issues with the parking, and were very thankful for the in and out privileges for when we had to make short trips

A decent stay at the Hyatt Sacramento Service was great Vines restaurant was surprisingly fantastic

Bed was comfortable and the AC worked well Good views of the capital Fitness center is connected to the hotel but you have to go outside to access The wifi needs some significant improvement as it continually dropped throughout my stay Great location near the capitol building

This location was perfect for my stayWe went for a quick weekend away in Sacramento This hotel is minutes away from food and the metro line is on the other side of the free way

I was concerned that there would be a lot of noise at night since the hotel is right next to the free way However once inside you could not hear any noise from outside! The complimentary breakfast was amazing! And the staff are super friendly and welcoming! 10/10 would recommend a stay here!

Gregory Janssen
