My sister and her family used to go here from Chattanooga often and moved it It had a great pool slide for her boys When I married, my husband and I loved going and told his family with kids

We often met up for family reunions there until we were walking out and I looked into the laundry room There was a huge poster board stating “ONLY CHANGE SHEETS ONCE A WEEK REGARDLESS IF IT’S THE SAME CUSTOMER OR NOT”This was when my now 20 year old was 5 None of us has been back Even when we were actively going, I ignored a lot

While not a great motel without a lot to offer and some trashy locals the service here was good, I have a special needs dog and I work 3rd shift, my AC went out about 20 mins before work and I didn’t have any time to wait for a serviceman, the staff at the front went up to my room and set up a oscillating fan for my dog and made sure she stayed comfortable for the night, I was relieved when they sent me a direct message letting me know my dog was cared for Aside from everything else my dogs safety is my #1 concern and this was our first time having to stay in a motel and I did a whole lot of worrying, just knowing my dog was taken care of was everything to me during hard time’s I would like to personally thank everyone for all the care and help and would like to personally thank Heith for keeping me and my dog cool

I’m here to tell you Anyone that leaves a good review here is working for, or friends with the workers/owners If you think of staying here consider this

About 2 weeks ago the power went out, at 11am, around 4pm I decided to see what was going on (thought maybe there was a wreck) well the workers at the time said the owner (Ricardo) left town and drained his bank accounts, that we were basically up a creek and would not see our money Well it took some time to get help for a sudden move, and that cops would escort everyone off the premises The current maintenance told us to get out (trying to warn us and help) that is was all around bad He came back after getting the power turned back on at 545 pm After we were told 6pm they are escorting us out Now that aside We stayed the last week but its constant bullying from security and staff about smoking And even if you don’t smoke, if someone walks down the hall smoking and they smell it they pester you, because they charge a 200 dollar fine if you do I have athsma I can’t be around smoke, and when it came time they insisted we did Owner said I’ll do you a FAVOR and give you your deposit back, as long as you give us a good google review This is a real review and it’s a drug alley, and staff is the ones that are shady and you have to worry about Trust me It’s not worth it even if its 50 dollars a month No privacy, no customer service, it’s a money scam I never leave reviews hardly but this place deserves this review Constant worry they would barge in our room and steal, and former guests can back that up If anyone doubts this review I will gladly reply, and give you my name and info and show you the pictures and videos we have of this place It will be shut down soon No covid sterilization either although they claim they do No indoor pool as they claim, and no wifi

The lady at the front desk working, the heavy set woman was all over the place She clearly was on a substance and couldn’t stop sweating and moving her mouth Seen her in the parking lot smoking that substance in her jeep

Over priced for the conditions of this place My room had bed bugs and roaches I’m older so I like to sleep at a decent hour but can’t here, neighbors constantly fighting Owner throws out families who have children with no where else to go with no remorse One of the workers fight with all the tenants and causes drama like high school The place REEKED of weed and mold If you need a place to stay I do not recommend this hotel The short staff woman was very professional though and tried to take care of my concerns but it was beyond what she could do

RM !

OK I like to read reviews and when there are so many divided I figure it’s going one way or another

so this place is awful They charge way too much for the condition these rooms are in My room was nasty, bed sheets were gross, floor had never been vacuumed and my feet were literally sticking to it, ceiling chipped away and the sink has barely ever been cleaned The shower had great pressure if that helps anyone As you can see from the two separate floor pictures it’s disgusting and not been vacuumedunfortunately you can’t see the sticky but your feet would definitely feel it

Loved the room, very clean and spacious Complementary breakfast was good, plenty of seating and a comfortable casual atmosphere Couldn’t visit the bar during our stay but it looked immaculate and there was a nice pool table and outside seating to enjoy

Within walking distance to restaurants and shops, very close to a walking trail as well Also pet friendly which is a big plus, and every employee was kind and courteous The only negative is you have to valet park your car, but valet was very fast and kind as well Would absolutely come here again to explore more of Athens!

We practically lived in this homewoods suite for over a two month period We enjoyed the only two bedroom suite around that area for an incredible price! The staff was friendly and helpful, the manager appeared to care and was on top things The room was always clean and we had everything we needed

Home away from home Everyone on the staff was pleasant to interact with, our favorite was the valet guy, Sterling! He always greeted us with a smile while he took great care with all three of our vehicles while having a fun attitude! I highly recommend this hotel, we would never stay anywhere else while enjoying the Athens area I almost forgot to mention the most important part! They are the most dog friendly hotel ever They accommodated our every need Our three French bulldogs felt perfectly at home each time we stayed there They loved having ice from the ice machine and watching activity out of the big windows We love this Hilton and that is why we are proud Hilton Diamond Members!

Susan Headley

If you need a place to stay in Athens, this is your place! If you need a place to stay with a group, reach out to Phillip in sales! The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff were professional and kind, and while the valet is required – they are quick and efficient when dealing with your vehicle Now, probably one of the best thing about your stay here, the breakfast! You will leave to start your morning with a full tummy and ready to conquer your day! Don’t sleep through it – make sure you get the breakfast! You will not regret it!!! While I cannot remember all of their names, every person I have worked with at the front desk have been a delight to work with There was some confusion with our business card, but they took the time to make sure everything went smoothly

OH and they have a quaint little bar area with a pool table and other games/tv, which was a great place to wind down after work before going up the the room! And the outdoor green space with plenty of seating and outdoor grills! They really do have everything to make you feel you are at your home, away from home!

We drove 10 hours today and we’re looking forward to a good nights rest however… the toilet didn’t work in our room No other rooms available We suggested we could put up with it if the Room was complimentary BUT that wasn’t an option Instead a person showed us how to manipulate the toilet with the lid off

Management offered a small discount The girl at the desk did her best but really??? Is this the holiday inn???

Ritzy Boo

My family of 5 got 2 rooms to stay in for a night 3 of us shared a room, there were outside bugs that somehow got in, the walls couldve been cleaned a little more thoroughly (there was some kind of bug smashed on the wall by the lamp) the room other than that was fineThe beds however were more like 3 stars; they were uncomfortable

I woke up with back pain and a semi restless nightAlso the bathroom door wouldn’t shut so we weren’t able to lock it at allIn conclusion the service was fast and breakfast was delicious! Thank you for your services!

We understand the hotel is four years old At the time of our visit the bottom three floors were closed due to a break in the sprinkling system Nevertheless, the hotel common areas were very clean and our room was spotless

Very large bathroom with nice tub / shower and good lighting (my wife made me say that) Bed was very comfortable Didn’t use the pool or fitness room but they appeared to be clean and well maintained Staff was welcoming and friendly The complimentary breakfast was what you’d expect but still good and fast enough to get us back on the road We’ll likely stay here again next time we’re passing through An overall good value

I came in town for the Perry Stone Conference and really enjoyed my stay at this hotel For someone who normally stays in 4 star hotels, this was the nicest and cleanest 2 star hotel that I’ve stayed in The hotel looked and smelled fresh and clean when you first walk in the lobby and also the other parts of the hotel

The room was bigger than what I thought it would be but most importantly, the room had icy cold AC!! I sleep much better when my room is on the cooler side and I was happy to find out that I could set the thermostat at a temp that was comfortable for me Some hotels have the AC controlled by corporate or some other outside group Terrie, the breakfast buffet manager was amazing (Give her a raise)! She not only made sure that the buffet had enough food, but she also had friendly interactions with the hotel guests She made sure that everyone was happy, well fed and comfortable with the breakfast buffet area I am glad that turkey sausage was available along with the pork sausage for us who don’t partake in swine I hope that the next time I stay there, there will be more of a variety of breakfast items (maybe breakfast potatoes, bacon) I was very impressed and look forward to staying there again next summer

Heather Hurt

Loved our stay The only complaint I have is the pillows and bed If you’re a person who likes firm pillows or pillows your head won’t completely sink through, definitely bring your own

The bed was too firm, was not comfortable at all for me, I prefer a softer more pillow top bed Those are my only complaints though, the rest of the room and our stay was perfect

Wish I could give it less stars The trash woman who answered the phone for one Our house caught on fire and my wife tried to get a room because we aren’t allowed to be at our house

She turned her away saying they don’t rent to locals I called to talk to her and she told me the same thing then hung up the phone on me What a piece of trash person What a piece of trash hotel So many better places to stay in Sweetwater Avoid this place like the plague Who turns someone away whose house just burnt and has no where to stay Regardless of your polices That just shows a lack of compassion and character I will do everything in my power to trash this hotel any chance I get

We stayed this past Saturday night Found the location to be clean, front desk very helpful at check in, and the room was neat and clean, as you would expect Sunday morning we had a great breakfast before we left

Thats when the best part of the review comes We were about 10 miles down the road, when my girlfriend remembered she had forgot a couple of bracelets left in the room I called the hotel, and we turned around Got back to the hotel, got a key to go check the room and get them, but housekeeping had already been to the room We saw the housekeeper cleaning the next room, and asked her if she found the bracelets She said yes, handed my girlfriend a plastic bag, dated, items found, name of person finding them, and all information pertaining to the situation Its refreshing to find honest, friendly staff, on top of clean facilities Needless to say, i would definitely recommend a stay here if your in the area We will be back!

Great location right next to the interstate, several restaurants, and near Walmart We were traveling with a small dog We arrived and there was already some type of animal hair all over the bed and chew marks on the chair legs

We called the front desk and they changed the linens within 10 minutes,no issue There was human hair on the sink and tub, but we just cleaned that ourselves No bugs, weird smells, or people hanging around outside other than other guests The staff we met were not overly welcoming, but pleasant and helpful The bed was hard as a rock, not firm, just hard We didn’t sleep very well and woke up with stiff backs

Melissa Pace

Room floor was very dirty Bathroom door wouldnt shut The wood on it and expanded from chronic shower water exposure

Comforter had burn holes in it and had seen better days We stopped after long travels Was thankful for pet friendly rooms Dog kept barking at noises The door at the end of the hall had a band on it to keep it from locking Surrounded by 3 abandoned houses Definitely not worth the 90$ I got charged Night time check in lady was nice Man in the morning was very rude Snapped at me about my room number, basically accusing me of sneaking in my dogs even though I paid the pet fee for all the dogs on 2 rooms Pool outside had been filled in with cement! No bugs

Bonnie Muse

Riff-raff at the front door People knocked on our door to ask us if we wanted to party No manager available, couldn’t get a phone number for manager

Shower head had a lot of crud on it Ac vents were disgusting Good coffee Room was clean other than ac and shower The folks at the front door were a big deal to me Every time I left my room they were hanging out in the hallway outside our room I believe they are regulars from how the acted

Me and the family stayed overnight on our way back from vacation and had the greatest stay! Everything was perfect The property was clean and quiet To make the stay worth every penny, we were greeted by front desk clerk Bebe W

She went above and beyond for us We didn’t arrive until after midnight and she still had a smile on her face and was very friendly to my family and I She made sure we went to our rooms without a need left standing She accommodated everything we needed and made sure we got our value worth We had a young one and she went out her way to make sure the young one had milk for the night and she also brewed fresh coffee upon our arrival She went above expectations and delivered absolutely amazing service Bebe W Is definitely a asset to this company I was a GM at Hilton years ago and I would have loved to had a full staff just like her! She gave us the best holiday inn experience ever!

A last minute stopover and we got the last of 2 rooms Our non smoking room #212 was clean, had a firm bed, was quiet and had a friendly staff We woke up to a nice view of a pond out the back balcony with good coffee in the lobby

My husband even caught and released a decent bass We were told they may give it a much needed remodeling to get rid of the 80s decor because it is a little ragged Overall, good for a quick, inexpensive stay

Chris Boyd

Wow Pleasant Surprise!Stayed July 5th and was under $70 With Tax and room was clean and comfortableWas trying to save a little money and was very happy with my stay!Room is dated but well kept and clean Had 0 Issues!Just a basic clean hotel that is priced as it should be with good bedding and clean towels

Will definitely stay here again if in area!

Brian Tripp-Schaefer

The room was clean and mostly in good repair ( toilet loose from flange), we were told they had large vehicle parking, but due to a large natural hump in the lot it would be very difficult for any large vehicle to not bottom out going across it as many have This currently a construction project going on but they did not start working until 8:30 am

overall it was a good experience and I would stay again

Miss Kim, the lady at the front desk was just excellent and very professional Yes it is expected of front desk staff to be polite and nice but when somebody does it naturally like she does and makes you feel like you do matter as a guest, I think they need to be commended Kudos to her and the breakfast kitchen lady who was equally courteous and just welcoming

I just moved out of my apartment and needed a place to stay until I leave town the next day My room was very clean I had 2 Queen size beds and the mattresses and pillows were very comfortable

I slept very well My sheets and towels were clean and I could smell the bleach in the bathroom The bathroom was very clean My room appeared to have brand new carpet The walls in my room was painted a couple of shades of green which was very appealing to me The room temperature was set at 74 degrees, the room temperature was very comfortable it stayed cool in my room Also, I was on the 4th floor and had a very good view I could see everything from my window My only complaint is that the ironing board cover needed to be changed I looked old and was very dirty Overall, I enjoyed my stay It would of been nice if I could have stayed longer I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Quirky Clarke

The mana at the front desk was nice and the check in process was smooth and easy My room is clean and smells good, they have free breakfast in the morning from 6-9:30 The pool area is open until 11pm!!!!! Which is amazing nowadays most hotels close their pool at 9pm

The hot tub works, pool is chilled(not bad though) they have a cool slide and water umbrella sprinkler for kiddos Slide has a weight limit of 325lbs so adults can get in on the action too!!! This one is definitely saved and starred♥️♥️ Half way between FL and MI

brandon “Brandy” riddle

The staff here were pleasant, the pool and fitness center were great, but the cleanliness of our room was definitely not what I would call clean The floor was not vacuumed, there were broken crayons, and crumbs of food throughout We had a king-size bed, which was comfortable, but there were stains on the down comforter

The hideabed we had in our room had food particles under the cushions The bathroom floor was dirty, and the toilet definitely had not been touched or sanitized We should have requested a different room, but we had an extremely late check in, 1 am and had a very long day We came in for a funeral, I was very emotional and exhausted and just needed sleep and some quiet time

visited 3 – 5 June 2022: The room was clean, breakfast was light but adequate staff were pleasant and helpful My wife and I used the gym (elliptical and treadmill)

None of the displays work and one treadmill didn’t work at all The breakfast staff person Saturday was one point however, the staff person on Sunday morning was slow to restock the juice/milk chest so both were warm Plus you had to ask for water because it was not available in the serving area Visited this hotel when it was first built so we know a better job can be done Yet, if our options are limited as was in this case we would stay at a Homewood Suite Hotel

Jonathan Jones

I’ve stayed at several Homewood Suites before, always among the best small-suite hotels Here, the lady at check-in was one of the sweetest people we met while in Chattanooga, genuine & hospitable, she made us truly feel welcome The majority of other staff we encountered, however, barely lifted a finger

One employee at the breakfast area simply watched TV for half an hour Fresh coffee would have been nice What was there was lukewarm When trying to re-enter the next morning, a man at the front desk simply yelled through the glass “Back Up” as I keyed the entry, and then not a word or even eye contact when I walked through the door That was the general vibe for most of the staff except the sweet lady on check-in Plus, these are old rooms w/ a makeover Smaller than other Homewood suites and with popcorn ceilings and bathrooms that would look more like fitting in a Super 8 than in a Hilton brand hotel

While the front desk and lobby areas are pretty modern, the rooms are in need of an update They could also use some extra time being cleaned as my room didn’t look like it had more than some sheets thrown on the bed Also, and perhaps more importantly to some, you hear EVERYTHING around you

Guy above you taking a dump? Yup, you hear it Couple below you on their honeymoon? Yup, you hear that too (Congrats Darla and Craig, hope you nuptials last longer than well you know)The included breakfast is mostly typical (premade omelets, a meat and starch) but it didn’t offer as much variety as other Hilton’s and was barely warmed up the days I stayed The second day I literally threw it in the trash after a few bites and walked across the street to the waffle houseIt’s not all bad, but if those are some critical criteria for your trip, then consider another location
