We had a great time over 5 days The bar staff was great with good drink options The breakfast options weren’t substantial but decent for grabbing something if needed

Rooms were clean, and cleaned well when we requested The front desk staff was helpful, friendly, and tried to make the stay enjoyable and fun There was great love blues music one night for a couple hours, and we stayed at the bar thoroughly enjoying it We would stay at Aloft again The only downside was the 8 minute walk to the train, but this did not disrupt our trip at all

Great location and friendly people The lobby area is fun and energetic with a large snack area too Check in and check out was super fast and easy

Can’t give five stars because the room I had was a little run down with colored stains on the white bathroom counter A few other minor annoyances like no soap dish (probably explains all the leftover stains from previous guests), and the main floor lamp had to be manually plugged and unplugged (dead wall switch)

Stacy Rich

Great place! Room was clean and had good air flow Able to crack windows to let fresh air in, which is a huge deal to help air quality! The staff, including Mr Robot 🤖 were all nice and helpful! The valet with the shaved head and Mohawk type hair with an accent was super nice and accommodating

He helped us find a nice place for brunch and we just really enjoyed the atmosphere and staff

There is a lot of good about a stay at this particular Hampton Inn The employees are friendly The beds are comfortable

The rooms are clean and roomy The breakfast was actually more than we expected The location Is terrific in terms of walking to the theater, to restaurants and to local attractionsTwo things keep this from being a four star review The first is the fact that this Hampton is located directly across the street from the fire station We were awakened several times during the night due to the alarms going off and the fire equipment heading out The second has to do with the extra charge for early entry to the room If you get a notice that your room is ready, you should not be charged for early entry unless that is clearly stated in the text notice The charge was removed once we complained but it should never have been on our bill

We had a terrible experience here! We stayed for 3 days, 2 nights and every single day the toilet flooded Even after they sent someone to “fix” it, the toilet was still slow when flushing nothing The third time it overflowed, water poured into the hallway and under the bed

We called to the front desk to report it immediately and their response was, “Nobody can come in until after 7am You can come downstairs and get more towels if you need” It took 45 minutes for anyone to show up and help We had to call AGAIN to remind them we needed helpThe actual maintenance staff/engineers who helped us were very nice I felt bad for them because this was a recurrent issue At the same time our toilet was overflowing, they also had to deal with a ceiling leak several floors downThe cleanliness of the room itself was okay When we initially arrived there were a couple of short curly hairs on the bathroom sink, which fortunately we could rinse down the drain Still, that shouldn’t have even been an issue The room smell was awful, like chemicals covering up for a smoker It was insanely strong at first and only faded slightly over the course of 3 daysThe location itself is fine because there’s plenty within walking distance Just be prepared to sleep poorly You’ll hear sirens you’ll through the night since the fire station is nearby Probably the only good thing here is that the staff are very niceOverall, we were disappointed in our stay and hope people steer clear of this hotel We are warning our friends and family to stay away, and personally, we will NEVER book here again[Just rechecked our booking and realized I accidentally posted my initial review to the wrong location I confirmed with my husband the 33 W Illinois location is correct]

I’d stay againRooms: Our room was on average 76 degrees, regardless of the setting which made sleeping quite difficult and uncomfortable The foot of our mattress was much higher than the head We needed to sleep backwards to accommodate the slant

The lack of lighting made it extremely difficult to see There isn’t an overhead light, relying all on wall mounted lighting or lamps – which were installed with a rustic-like light feel which was cute but useless as far as lights go We used the large window as our main light sourceService: VALET was super helpful and friendly Calling to valet line to notify pickup, however, never went through after 20 minutes Call the main desk line instead Front desk was super easy and helpful Always accommodating when in need Breakfast was always busy, but went smoothly and they all were very friendlyLocation: absolutely loved this location Close to shopping and eatery Rarely needed to call a ride to anywhere once we arrived We walked nearly everywhere which was a nice cost and time saver

Overall it’s wasn’t bad Rooms and bathroom were clean and beds well made Want to give 5 stars but except for Kevin, front desk staff can be more on top of things and better trained

I also appreciated Kevin’s knowledge of getting around Midway Airport Had to pickup my family at airport at 1:00am and preferred not to get lost like in O’Hare

F F

Alyssa checked us in she was super sweet and helpful made us feel welcomed The room was clean and housekeeping even gave us extra towels Maria checked us out she was super busy but she took the time to make us feel important and made sure we had everything we needed before we left to the airport

With customers service like these two ladies gave us we would always choose doubletree

James Milks

This was a last minute choice due to flight delays, but it was enjoyable and conveniently located near Midway airportThe free shuttle was also convenient and appreciated, as it is less than a 10 minute driveRooms were clean and quiet, hotel restaurant was ok but not spectacular

Lots of airline crews checking in, which I considered a good sign

Lucy, from the front desk is fabulous I cannot say enough about her kindness, her attention to detail and her genuine concern for creating a pleasant experience for guests She truly went above and beyond to ensure that I was taken care of after a canceled flight and a long day of travel

I spend about half the year in hotels and Lucy truly stood out by providing next level customer service Thank you!

Pretty nice place to stay, clean rooms, friendly staff, showers with water pressure, comfortable beds, I really have no complaints about this placeSome reviews have mentioned problems with sounds from the trainyard but they didn’t bother me at all in my room It was also really nice going walks on the sidewalk paths as opposed to the usual hotel experience of pure parking lot and nothing else

Jennifer Norman

We loved our stay as a family of 4 at Hilton Grand vacations Chicago! The room was very spacious, clean as well as updated and modern! We had a corner suite on the 22nd floor with a great view (Pull out bed) The location is excellent for walking any where from the magnificent mile to Navy Pier Hotel staff Were very pleasant and helpful! The outdoor pool was warm and great for the kids

That was one of the main reasons for choosing this place with outdoor pool for our summer stay and the location (we wish they would enforce the no glass on the pool as there was a piece of glass my husband stepped on inside the pool and a patron walking around with a glass of wine)This is our new place to stay when visiting Chicago!

Patrick Brannan

We had an excellent stay at this facility! Everything was immaculately cleaned and fresh smelling in our room We enjoyed the view to the north, especially the Hancock Tower and small glimpses of Lake Michigan The pool was well tended and a nice retreat after a couple of very hot days of sightseeing

All of the staff members were very friendly, efficient, and helpful They shared information regarding transportation options, restaurant options, and arranged for the handling of baggage before check-in and after check-out The only issue were had was with the number of towels in the bathroom, and that was quickly taken care of The location is a little more suited to activities north of the river, but the various transportation options can quickly get you to attractions in the Museum Campus, Financial District, or other parts of the city There are several very delightful restaurants in the area that offer a wide range of cuisine We would definitely stay here again

Audry Kiamana

Booked two suites for my friends and I’s birthday weekend in the city The suites are beautiful and located on the top floors providing an amazing view Every member of the staff was great

They checked in on us every-time we were in the lobby The concierge carried our bags to our room and made sure we knew how all the controls worked before leaving In total we had a group size of 8 people between 2 suites and I can honestly say that we were all satisfied for the entire two days that we were there!

Checked in on the second due to flight cancellations, needless to say I felt right at home Came down to the smell of bacon, ordered the French toast and let me tell you it was delicious I had it the next morning! Brice did a great job everything on the menu looked great Server was nice very attentive which was awesome I believe Vanessa is her name

Rooms where clean and comfy front desk where pleasant Definitely recommend

Jonea Charles

I read a review that said parking was $17, when I got to the hotel parking was actually $18 + tax which ended up being $24/nightThe room was big, clean and comfortable, no complaints thereBreakfast and lunch cost, there is no complimentary breakfast, even the things you’d think were complementary was like $6, for a bagel it was $6

But I paid for a freshly cooked breakfast and it was not good The bacon was way too salty, the cheddar cheese for the eggs was nasty, potatoes were a little over cookedIf you think parking for the hotel is ridiculous just don’t go to Chicago, EVERYWHERE WE WENT WE HAD TO PAY FOR PARKING, I’ll never go to Chicago again

I liked this hotel Friendly staff and very clean updated rooms It’s pricey for being basic

I would like more clarity at check out on which card we are being charged I was traveling for works and someone two reservations got charged to me Given that they must do this often, would be nice for it to be clarified when charged This has now happened twice at different locations And making reservations is a PIA if you’re booking as part of an event and need to speak to a live person for an accommodation

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking a stay This web site will compare hundreds of booking websites and normally will have rates much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the highest rated in the area

I’ve been coming here for years If you decide to stay here you for sure won’t regret itLocation, location, location! Spacious room for a downtown hotel A great river view if you room is north facing The only downside while I was staying was occasional loud noise from emergency vehicles in the middle of the night

David Lopez

As an elite member, I stay at a lot of their nice hotels This one has great river views, but at high prices (which is fine) but their service is awful

Not once did someone check in to see how our stay was, not once could I get anyones attention for some local area help, and valet … Oh boy… they don’t take bags out or help put in car (if needed) they were to busy on their phones…The city was phenomenal and I’ll always come back, but not staying here again… Again, best thing about hotel is view…

Very nice hotel Friendly helpful staff Nice complimentary breakfast

Hotel was close to the airport, close to public transit, and walking distance to two pizza placesMy only complaint is that as near as I can tell the room was never cleaned during our stay Maybe that is a change for COVID And, truth be told, the room didn’t need cleaning

JJ Ryan-Billings

I love Hampton Inn Great mattresses, great linens, always clean, and this location is no different However, audits should not be run when people are checking out for 5am flights

That task should be completed earlier if doesn’t allow guests to get invoices on check-out Even WORSE, the tall, older lady working the front desk at this time was literally the surliest hotel employee that I have run across in 25 years of business travel She definitely should not have a career in hospitality If she were my employee, I would fire her immediately It wouldn’t kill her to greet guests with a smile, or to apologize for not being able to provide a service I don’t need her to educate me on how hotels work A friendly attitude would have gone a long way, especially at 410am I love Hampton Inn but wouldn’t stay at this location again There are plenty of other Hilton hotels to choose from

SheRoe Jakk

Very satisfied and happy with this hotel stay The hotel shuttle was absolutely fantastic and so thankful for its existence The front desk staff was patient and friendly

I had the opportunity to observe them for several hours as I enjoyed many cups of coffee in the front lobby There was around the clock hot tea and coffee station near the elevators This was a welcomed amenity by those in my group The hotel also offered a computer The room was fresh and clean Comfortable Quiet Hotel area is very convenient We were able to stroll to Giadornos for fresh hot Chicago Deep Dish If I ever get delayed by Southwest Airlines again and must leave the airport because they cancelled the flight even tho they said it would take off in 30 minutes, I WILL STAY AT THIS HAMPTON INN

Would give 0 stars if possible Made a reservation 2 weeks before reservation date Called and spoke to manager here to make sure they had a pool and open availability for use of said pool

Was told pool only closed on Mondays for cleaning which is understandable Our reservation was for Wednesday at 3pm Tried checking in at 330 and spoke to Jennifer at front desk Not only was she rude, but a bit snobby Told us as we were checking in ” oh we have a private event so pool is closed, will only be open from 830 to 10 pm” We reserved at this location which is over an hour away specifically for the pool as it was for my three year old son’s birthday, and all he wanted for his Birthday was to go swimming So obviously My wife and I were upset, we even asked why this was the case as we called two weeks beforehand and confirmed pool usage and times and Jennifer rudely said well we changed our policy No apologies, no commitment to service Thank goodness we reserved through Bookingcom and William the supervisor we spoke to was kind enough to help us cancel the reservation as well as find us a replacement reservation on short notice Would never recommend this location to anyone, and do not be fooled by false and obviously fake reviews for this location This is NOT a 4 star hotel and if you are staying here good luck and hope you are not expecting the amenities promised at the time of your booking

Lynn “Sunshine” Carter

It’s part of a group of hotels near the airport It would be great if the free shuttle was a scheduled ride for really early morning flights Overall I would stay again because the room was good for what I needed overnight

Front desk staff was really great and helpful Checked in online so not too much hassle to get keys to room When you get on elevator, hold key over sensor while pushing floor button

Service was great but it is an older hotel The rooms had a weird smell and the towel I used had a slight cigarette smell The bed was clean

There is a shuttle that goes to Midway which is why we stayed here The shuttle is convenient but keep in mind the front desk needs you present in order to call it The shuttle can be available every 20 minutes It’s a pretty large shuttle that is shared with other hotels so there’s plenty of space but there could be many people as well We were flying with 10 pieces of luggage and everything fit

tristan brown

The location is great and overall the hotel was clean and in good order The beds are a little small but for 2 people (1 per bed) it is not that bad Was here for 2 nights

I was very disappointed when it comes to having the rooms refreshed I don’t think they even came into the room They didn’t make the beds or put new towels, water cups, or take out the trash I think it’s time to start changing rooms every night or checking out and checking back into a different room They can do a 20 min clean or a full clean every day Had asked for new towels and asked for 2 more bed pillows I was able to get the towels The staff was supposed to come and give me the pillows but never showed up or even called to let me know anythingBreakfast was very disappointing we had peanut butter and jam but no bread or Bagels There were no waffles It was simply cereal and a sausage biscuit

Debra Westbrook

Nice hotel for a weekend visit and the location was excellent Typical hotel issues not enough towels and our fridge was not cold would not stay cold even after it was repaired

Shout out to Suzette doing breakfast she was amazing and very helpful in telling us about different things around the city Shout out to the manager that allowed us an early check-in and a late check out which worked excellent with our travel plans overall service was amazing

stores, restaurants, entertainment etc Front desk was super friendly and helpful We needed a light bulb in our room and within 10min they brought us a bulb They even have a game room that is so swanky and so clean I was so impressed and I’m not easy to please I would most definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel

The room was nice and the staff were exceptional I was quite tipsy after a House of Blues show and left a personal belonging in the hotel lobby bar which I stopped at before retiring to my room The bartender who was an exceptional sweetheart gave it to the front desk who returned it to me the next morning when I checked out

I wish I would have got her name because I will always remember this act of kindness

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the years Covid 19 has taken its toll First, let me say that the front desk staff is wonderful and helpful

They get 5 stars It’s what had happened to the rest of the hotel that brings my score down There is no longer a doorman or personal to help with luggage You are on your own There is no valet parking, but there is a good garage across Delaware from the hotel My room was not serviced while I was there No clean towels Bed not made Trash cans not emptied I have never seen it like this The rooms have been redone and are very nice Over all, if you do not need help with luggage and parking, and don’t mind not having your room serviced while there, it is well worth the price The location is great and the price is far below their nearest competitors’

I’ve been coming here for a long time If you decide to stay here you definitely won’t be disappointedMy family and I just spent four days there The hotel is centrally located downtown, and the staff were very nice and helpful I asked for hot water for coffee, they sent a hot water heater I asked if the kitchen could reheat pizza for my daughter, they sent up a microwave I would definitely stay if I go to Chicago again

Doug S

My flight landed extra early so i called and the receptionist granted me early check in which was really nice! The rooms are basic and pretty dated, really need new carpet and decor bathroom was clean, beds on the extra firm side but they were tolerable Overall, I would stay here again

Just like any budget friendly hotel there’s a few little things i didn’t like, lack of outlets by bed, no fridge or microwave, firm bed etc but all in all a nice place and very friendly staff

Reserved a room almost 3 months in advance of our trip The shuttle was so inadequate that it was completely packed with no room for all the waiting passengers for 3 full round before we were even able to get on to go to the hotel We arrived after traveling all day, get up to the room and find out that while we paid in full in advance for a room with 2 queen size beds (for 4 people) we were given a room with just one king bed with no couch or pull out for the other sleeping arrangements

We asked the front desk for a roll away bed or a cot because we were tired and didn’t want to make a big fuss They told us to sleep on the floor Yes, the floor They told us there was no manager on duty to speak with until the next day and wouldn’t give us any solution other than to sleep on the floor because they over booked and gave our room away

Don’t know what happens with Marriot hotel Made reservation via phone Got to the hotel just to found out that I didn’t have a reservation

Once I showed my confirmation they kept looking until they found my reservation Got there late because my flight got delayed So from 3:00 am they wanted me to wait until 5:00 am to check me in Which is absurd Paid for a hotel that wasn’t giving me a room Had to wait in the lobby for more than an hour We are sleeping the the sofas I really just wanted to cancel and go somewhere else I am still waiting

Obnoxiously loud room with all the planes flying overhead Like most airport hotels, they could care less about sound insulation Management, please don’t give me some corporate platitude about trying to do better next time because unless you are planning to soundproof the entire building, you can’t do better

Also, staff was rude and incompetent–the guy couldn’t find our reservation and when pressed, declared there were no reservations until his coworker found the reservations I was also put on hold and forgotten when i tried to request something grom the front deskThen they acted like nothing happened I ended up asking for extra bedsheets so I could sleep on the bathroom floor because it was the only quiet place I could find (SEE PIC) And there are minor irritations like the nonsensical requirement of a card key to access the ice machine And equip your vans with some shock absorbers Not impressed with the Marriott brand overall Overpriced and overhyped

Last 2 times I stayed; I could not have had a better experience Staff are SO friendly and helpful, even called a cab for me which I thought was amazing The views are awesome, clean room, had a great sleep minus the sirens which are out of the hotel’s control because with fire and EMS vehicles going by since it’s a huge city and being by a hospital, it’s not uncommon and so I didn’t let it affect me

I’ll be sure to come back to this place every time

We stayed on a Saturday night They did not provide parking and the nearest parking was full Next was an entire block down

Room clean TV on satellite with terrible delay between the sound and picture Maintenance guy said they are aware and yet not pursuing a correction or replacement of the provider! 40,000 points $54 in parking Note these issues and if they bother you, choose a different hotel!

Hotel is in a great location, good place if you’re just looking for somewhere to sleep Nothing special Left a few clothing items in the closet and was hoping I could pay to have them shipped back to me but was told “nothing got turned in” and they already had other guests in the room so they couldn’t check…so either the cleaners stole it or they left it for the new guests

Either way not great Disappointing!

This hotel is under renovation during the summer of 2022 I sure hope the update will improve the guest experience I do understand construction is an annoyance and I took that into consideration before posting a review

I stayed here for business purposes The rooms were fine but my room (and none of my colleagues) did not have a pleasant smell I had a barely lukewarm shower for 3 days and when I brought it to the attention of the staff, I was not offered an apology or any type of compensation The staff weren’t rude, but they were by no means friendlyThough the location is pretty good, there are many other places to stay in the city that would offer a much better experience

We stayed here for a wedding The room was large for Chicago standards and very clean The shop in the lobby had lots of essentials

The construction noise wasn’t an issue over the weekend when we stayed The real reason our stay was so wonderful was that Tabitha at the front desk is exceptional I called to request an early check in, and she was so friendly on the phone She was also extremely friendly in person and even remembered me from the phone call She has such a sunny disposition and goes above and beyond in every interaction Even though our trip was 2 weeks ago, I still remember her and how welcome she made us feel staying at this Marriott

I’ve been coming here for a very long time If you decide to stay here you definitely will love it I’m sure!Even though they were under construction I had a great stay Was working at McCormick place during the day so missed all the noise It was very quiet at night so I slept very well Would definitely stay there again
