My business partner and I have been staying at The Easterner for the last three summers and would never consider staying anywhere else We typically stay there 3-5 times a summer for several days at a time Our experiences have always been great, and we love Fran the proprietor

The rooms are squeaky clean with full kitchens, updated appliances and furnishings The mattresses are high-quality and super comfortable The motel is also extremely quiet, and very convenient to everything one could want in the Hamptons No complaints at all! Having stayed at many different kinds of hotels all over the world, this completely satisfies my needs

Selfa Fraire

I went to this great place with my daughter and my parents, we had such a good time! The “houses” are very comfortable, clean and organizes, you have everything you need And if something is missing, Fran, the owner, will get it for you! She helps us with everything!Fran you’re the best!!!!Thank’s a lot!

This place is a beautiful hidden gem in the Hamptons If you’re the kind of person who wants to be part of the Hamptons “scene” and hit the night clubs, its probably not for you If you’re the kind of person who loves the beach, the pool and having a BBQ with friends, its wonderful, and for the price, you won’t find anything better out here

Fran, the owner, is delightful and extremely helpful She has beach chairs, umbrellas, and even beach towels if the need them, all at no extra charge There’s also news papers in the front officeThe rooms are set up like little cottages, not at all a traditional motel You drive up to the little cottage and inside the room, you’ll typically find two large, comfy beds, two tables, a nice, new dresser and television and a kitchenette The bathroom is in the back, left hand corner and its a good size with a stand up shower The room as an AC unit but luckily, the Easterner’s cottages are cool and shady so AC isn’t necessarily at night (in my experience) The rooms are simple and cute, they have everything you need for a weekendIts a great place, secluded and just a short walk to the beach on Peconic Road That beach may seem too rocky to lounge on at first but its actually got a great flat, sandy spot about 200-300 years down the beach path if you turn leftEnjoy!

The room was good, the staff was friendly the breakfast was above average and had many choices My only complaint was the aggressive manner in which they try to force you out of your room in the morning We attended a wedding nearby and obviously wanted to sleep in a little

The cleaning staff used a card key to enter my room at 8am after a quick knock and we were in bed Thankfully I had locked the safety latch and then we went to have breakfast around 9am and the staff was waiting outside of our room and asked are we leaving?? We replied no we are going to get breakfast and then put the do not disturb sign on the door out of fear of being evicted from the room This was just unnecessary in my opinion Check in for the next guests is not till 3pm This should not be my inconvenience to even think about the logistics of how they will clean all of the rooms in time, meanwhile 11-3 all rooms are vacant I would not stay here again unless I had to I believe that this hotel could do a little better even though they probably get by with the steady stream of business from local vineyards and wedding venues

It is gone downhill since last year we stayed there One of there elevators wasn’t working upon checking in, we realize that we didn’t have any blackout curtains in out room We notified the front desk and they said they would send maintenance in the next morning

I had to call again that next day to make sure that someone was going to come before they left for the day Maintenance had to hang something to black out the room for night time but then we weren’t able to have any natural light for 6 daysThe curtains weren’t working at all in our room Went down to the front desk one morning and to get some extra towels they said they would have housekeeping bring them up to us and they never did had to go back down again, and we had only use housekeeping one time the whole stay Breakfast was good but you have to get down there early Pool was nice! Customer service wise, the girls were great however there was an on duty manager that you could tell hates his job (Manager On DutyNathaly Joya) Husband had a not so good interaction with him Wouldn’t pay that much to stay there again going to stay at one of the other hotels in town the next time we come

Nugget Queen

First night was great! Quiet hotel and great breakfast Saturday morning! Saturday night wasn’t so pleasant, Girls Dance Team or whatever checked in and it was incredibly noisy and loud then They were running up and down the hallway screaming and just acting like it was a playground Didn’t get any sleep and Was hoping to enjoy breakfast but again the girls dance team ruined that as well

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary this week We loved the location! We were able to walk to get breakfast and dinner, we walked down to the small beach down the road, and we were only about 10 minutes from other stores/restaurants We stayed in one of the bungalows, and we were happy with it

We had a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee pot and stove, so we didn’t have to go out to eat for every meal The pool was great, we spent the whole day there and the atmosphere was super relaxing Reveka was welcoming and helpful We can’t wait to make this trip an every year event

Where do I start! We had our daughter’s wedding there this past weekend The property and accommodations are beautiful, extremely well-maintained, comfortable and overly welcoming! The staff couldn’t be more gracious and helpful, we wanted for nothing and everything was taken care of exactly the way we requested and beyond! Also, cannot say enough about the food, delicious! If anyone is considering holdings an event there, do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed! If you have no celebrations on the calendar, I would definitely consider booking a weekend getaway or, at the least, going for an outstanding meal! Looking forward to our next visit!!!

Gail Simons

Very pretty & charming with an old fashioned feel The inside is tastefully decorated and the staff is quite nice For such an upscale spot, though, I did expect more high-end type service

Food, when delivered, for example was just plunked down, not “presented” as one would expect from a more lavish spot Nothing terribly wrong, I just think their servers need a little extra training in “fine dining” The food was good but the sides were super basic White rice with zero garnish or flavor just was “meh” I would recommend this spot, but hope that my review is taken constructively for the management to train their staff a bit more Coming from YEARS in the service industry myself, I do know what I’m talking about

Sneha Clark

I had my wedding at Jedediah Hawkins a week ago The moment we had dinner there on our engagement weekend I was convinced this was it We visited the venue and after that the owner, Lia, was extremely available answering all my questions and very accessible via text and phone

In addition, the staff is amazing!!! It didn’t matter who was my bridal attendant, each person checked up on me and made sure everything was perfect We had Korryn, Collin, Olivia, Eugenia and Elias taking care of us but honestly – they were all so sweet They were so kind, easy going and caring I felt so much support and care from the team and really couldn’t have had a more perfect wedding Not to mention the food is amazing!!! My guests have been raving about the wedding and have booked weekends to visit through the summer If not host a wedding you at least need to visit for a really awesome weekend You will not be disappointed!!

We paid $658 ($705 after taxes and fees) for the “waterview bungalow” for one night It was as simple as the listing was on Hotelscom: “double bed, bathroom, waterview”

No amenities Not even a microwave or cooler No place to hang clothes unless you count the hooks in the bathroom There is one dresser with shallow shelves No chair Just a double bed, bathroom, and a TV The TV wasn’t set up either Took us a while to turn it on and set up (the remote batteries were put in wrong) No hairdryer eitherThe restaurant opens after 5pm so you have tp look for your own breakfast and lunch There is only one cafe in town that’s 2 min away for brunch so the line is endless We wished there was at least a coffee machine in the roomBeautiful interiorw lovely benches and chairs view outside of room deck with water and a bridge that you can drive across to the beachwhere you have to pay $30 to park or walk 20-30min there for freeThe Inn Spot is still waiting for their beach permit for guests and also has no reception desk so like us, many guests also walked into the restaurant with their luggages confused The desk number rings with no answer (Celia is the one who called us back after we called their sister company EP Marine)We did not receive any check-in instructions via text which would have been helpful Sergio, who worked at the restaurant (?) was kind enough to let us into our roomIt seemed like the place had just reopenedand it needed to be more organized this experience was probably worth around $300 not $700

Nick Jagodzinski

We had a great experience staying here Besides the location being beautiful, the staff was extremely accommodating and helpful with anything we needed and any questions we had about the area The location was perfect too, very close to the beaches and a short drive from some really good restaurants

We’ll be back! Thank you for the wonderful time!

annabel levy

The waiter was nice, as was the view, and the food was okay But the place has no ambiance at all It felt oddly abandoned

The other server/greeter wasn’t exactly rude, but she was brusque, disinterested and slow The food is overpriced They had run out of the fish special by 7:15, despite the fact that the restaurant was about 70% empty The cocktail menu is meh, and when I ordered a vodka tonic with lime I got a very small and slightly brown slice of lime The women’s restroom has two stalls, one of which had a broken door The menu is limited and includes some things that sound plain unappetizing, to be honest There were only two fish dishes on the main menu, plus the special, which again, they no longer hadat 7:15 I would not go back, and I feel bad saying this, because again, the waiter did a good job I’d describe him as heroic in a thankless role I’d call this place the Out Spot

Room 42 is not a standard room, which would according to their own definition accommodate 2 queen size beds No way would 2 queen beds fit in that room According to them, all their rooms are standard

This is deceptive, especially for people who are new to staying in hotels Rooms 38-43 appear to be the same layout The door was tricky to lock We called and someone came to assist us Breakfast was good, but “small plate” We waited for our food a long time I’m glad we ate elsewhere for dinner after inquiring whether they could accommodate a low sodium diet The man was honest He said that their food is Spanish and therefore salty The room was clean & decor was actually nice However, it bothered me that the lamp on one night stand was tall enough to interfere with 2/3 of the giant solitary picture in the room They need to get shorter lamps or smaller pictures Also, we had 3 conversations with different people before booking One woman was honest She said that no room had a view of the water One man stated that room 42 had a partial view of the water because it’s “higher” By partial, he meant a vague 15 percent patch of blue between branches that are still bare at this time of year

A wonderful resort ideal for families or couples Right ron the bay with a marina and fire pit to spend the evening conversing with your companions or guests We found it by chance and we’re very surprised how nice the property was abd the views , and the owners were very congenial

We fell in love with this place and will be coming back for many years and for a longer stay 5 stars doesn’t do this place justice

Anita Howard

The floors were filthy I took off my shoes and walked around for a few minutes and my feet were black with dirt They sweep the floors but do not mop them

The couch was disgusting It had a cover on it that had numerous stains It was broken down and needed replaced There was never anyone in the office to speak to – just the cleaning crew However, the outdoor facilities/ location was great They even provided wood for the fire pits But overall, I would not go back

Cecilia Komosinski

We booked several rooms to celebrate my daughter’s college graduation and We had the most bizarre experience at this resort

there was a dent in the wall in one of the rooms so we reported it and front desk said it was fine i had to leave early and my daughter checked out for our us and our guests and the management demanded a room inspection?? Then claimed they then claimed the dent was our fault and had us pay $250 for damages wow! Didn’t want to bother any further so just paid it as some of our guests had to catch flights But very disappointing! WOULDNT go back or recommend this resort

Beautiful spot with access to a private beach that is so calm and relaxing , you feel as if you are in another place (not long island) Staff was very lovely

the property is very well kept and clean The rooms are very comfy with flat screen tvs, king beds, and access to a patio with a personal hot tub Wonderful place to stay after a day of wine tasting Hit the beach right after and just relax They have paddle boards and kayaks for guest use as wellSomething to notethe vibe is a very quiet, low key kind of place I felt as if we were being disruptive by playing some music from our phone while on the beach Wanted to play a couple of beach games, but after reading the atmosphere, we decided not to Not a bad thing, but it is worth keeping in mind if you were interested in a more upbeat type of pace

We booked a block of rooms with this hotel for our wedding weekend on the North Fork of Long Island We worked with Suzanne Lincoln who was SO incredibly helpful in arranging the block, sharing information, answering questions, and assisting with last-minute requests All our guests were very happy with their stays and it was nice to be able to gather with other guests in the spacious lobby, at the bar, and over breakfast

We would absolutely recommend this property for groups or for family travelers One thing that could be improved is the layout of the rooms There was no closet (which for a wedding with lots of things to hang was challenging) and the room arrangement was a little strange Also, we were staying off-season and it was very hard to find food, coffee, lunch within walking distance of the hotel The hotel restaurants are either not open off-season or are closed from Monday-Wednesday which is when we were there There are very limited take-out/delivery options in Riverhead You would need to drive to get food, which might not be ideal for everyone But, honestly, all the staff at the Hyatt were amazing and so great to work with They were patient and helpful and we would definitely return and recommend it to others

I won’t give 1 star as we didn’t get a chance to dine in the half empty restaurant But the experience trying to get a table was disappointing We were in Southampton and a friend recommended American Hotel for happy hour and dinner

So off we went as the house we are staying at this summer is around the corner We went to the bar and were informed that the bar is for dining, not drinking who knew then we asked for a table and we’re then informed that they were completely committed for the entire weekend Luckily LuLu’s across the street was able to accommodate us with drinks and then an amazing dinner As Nancy Reagan once said Just say no

Incredible experience Called to book a 2 night stay- business meeting in Sag Harbor I was told that they couldn’t accommodate me

I thanked them, then began to look into booking with Sag Harbor Inn or Barron’s Cove Before I had a chance to book Sag Harbor Inn ( which had availability) , I received a call back from American Hotel, telling me that they could accommodate me for 2 nights I then booked it When I arrived at hotel on Sunday afternoon, I was told that I would need to move to another room for the 2nd night- I was a bit taken aback, but I went along with it to be helpful to them The following morning around 11:00AM , I went to the front desk as I was leaving for a meeting, asking to move my things into the other room ( an “ apartment”- the next level up) I was told that the room was not available and wouldn’t be for awhile I asked for a key as I told the clerk that I would be back very late They wouldn’t give me a key for the apartment roomThey told me there would not be any problem later in the evening Well here is the unbelievable part- I returned to the hotel around 10:45PM- the hotel was completely closed-locked up I am with my bags and there is no one there! I had nowhere to stay that nightIf gets better- I called the hotel the following morning explaining what happened I asked to speak to the manager- I was told that he would call me as soon as he came into work I called back at 3:00PM and was told that he had left for the day Can you believe this!He never called me backThe clerk I spoke with at 3:00PM insisted that there was a bartender there at 11:00PM the night before and could have let me inWell , I’d like to know where he or she was , as the place was locked up and dark- no one responded to my persistent knockingI have stayed at the American Hotel on a few other occasions – this was a shocking and incredibly disappointing experienceI will never stay there again- this experience was horrible I would encourage you to stay away – there are other much nicer places to stay in Sag Harbor

We had a great experience staying here Besides the location being beautiful, the staff was extremely accommodating and helpful with anything we needed and any questions we had about the area The location was perfect too, very close to the beaches and a short drive from some really good restaurants

We’ll be back! Thank you for the wonderful time!
