I am a stand-up comedian of over twenty-five years experience and I was doing a show this past weekend in Port Aransas, TX I was looking for a room for the night nearby and I found the Sleep Inn & Suites in Ingleside, TX And all I can say is, “Wow!” There are a number of hotels in the area, but I’m so glad I found this one

You walk through the front door of the lobby and immediately get a taste of everything the Sleep Inn & Suites has to offer Across from the front desk, you see the large dining area where they offer their free fantastic breakfast You can also see their impressive workout room as well as signs that point to their other amenities like an outdoor pool, laundry room and business center A fax and copy machine are also available I was only their for one night and wished I had more time to take advantage of everything this place had to offerThe room was really beautifully designed with plenty of room for luggage and still space to move around comfortably A large bathroom, such a plus, that offers all the bells and whistles a weary travelers is looking forAll these things by themselves would be enough for a five star review But here is where the Sleep Inn & Suites goes above and beyond When I entered the room I found bottles of water and snacks waiting for me But there was also a hand written note from Karen She is the Operations Manager at the Sleep Inn & Suites and also the woman I spoke with when I booked the room While on the phone I mentioned I was a comedian and in town for a show The note from Karen read”Welcome! Hope the show is great! Enjoy your stay! Karen”As I guy who spends a great deal of time living out of a suitcase, I can not tell you just how much something like that is appreciated As a person who makes his living talking for a living, I don’t often say this But I was speechlessThank you Karen, your staff and Sleep Inn & Suites

The staff are overly friendly and professional anything you need they will accommodate your stay

The rooms are well kept and the beds give you the rest you need for your travel literally a home away from home Breakfast was good, the morning attendant warms up your breakfast sandwiches I wish we could stay longer but we have school and work duties

Caitlin Gable

The kids really enjoyed the free breakfast It was conveniently close to Corpus and a lot of great restaurants They were upfront about being low on staff and how housekeeping needed to be requested

My only complaint was the ant infestation in the kitchen area and how the lock on the bathroom was broken Otherwise, it was a nice stay

Rich Gonz

First and foremost, I have never felt the need to post my views about my stay whether I enjoy my stay or disliked it This hotel was clean and is at a great location My only complaint is some of the employee’s on the facility

Like mentioned on a few reviews posted already, the breakfast lady is rude and obnoxious Myself and my family felt as we were bothering this lady at the breakfast area everytime we needed something She was not only rude to me, but also to my kids I believe this old lady’s name is Nancy (as to what her coworkers kept calling her) This older lady has an attitude, mean and talks down to people If you’re wanting any breakfast from this hotel, your going to wait until you find this lady and until she is off of her phone She always seems to be mad at the world anytime you come across herThe hotel is clean the times that I’ve been there And there’s other employee’s that are friendly and helpful My only suggestion is stay away from the breakfast area if you are wanting breakfast There are other nearby restaurants that you can go and have breakfast that aren’t too far from the hotel Which I think is a great location as to where this hotel is located at

I stayed here during a last-minute trip with my children to visit Port Aransas and North Padre Island Overall, my stay was great and if I had to I’d stay again It was a bit far from the areas we wanted to visit, but it wasn’t too bad and we made it work

1 The staff here were all very friendly and accommodating I think this was the best thing about the hotel We had to get up early to go to North Padre Island for the turtle release, and the front desk agent opened breakfast for us early before we left No complaints here2 The grounds were clean, as was the lobby3 Traveling to Port Aransas wasn’t that bad, the length of the trip really depended on the wait for the Ferry Getting to the ferry wasn’t that bad of drive, but one of the days we did have a wait to load the ferry It isn’t a big of a deal enough for me to complain4 My only complaint was the room It was clean, the bedding was fine but it did have a very distinct stale/old smell I went and bought Febreeze Spaces fresheners, and while it helped it didn’t completely cover or rid the smell Our things even smelled like the room once we left Other than that, the room was comfortable for us to sleep in, and even with it being on the first floor we heard minimal noise

Me

We literally only picked this hotel because of the big beautiful swimming pool they use as their man advertising picture We get there and check in and they also “charge to the nearest tenth” so your over charged and have to wait 3-5 days to get the over charged amount back Besides that, literally AS SOON AS I paid for our stay, lady at the desk was like “oh ya by the way our pool is closed because it’s dirty”…

We had an 8 year old little girl who was excited to swim in that big pool they advertised If I would have known the pool was closed BEFORE I paid, we would have went somewhere else with a clean available pool I literally typed in “hotels with best swimming pools” so our stay there was basically pointless So if you are wanting to stay here to enjoy the swimming pool, go somewhere else Because you won’t get that here The room was okay! The shower looks cool but the water pressure is horrible and we also saw old boogers wiped on the shower wall along with little curly black hairs in the wash cloths So bring your own linen The pull out sofa my daughter was supposed to sleep in had tons of debris, crumbs, dirt, and unknown junk all on the mattress and under the mattress The sofa had trash like wrappers and junk under it Obviously they don’t do the necessary deep cleaning that should be done for other clean people to enjoy their stay I kept feeling like something was crawling on me while I was in bed but I couldn’t figure out what it was I had a few bites on me when I woke up this morning I wouldn’t go back and I definitely wouldn’t recommend The staff was nice aside from being told the pool was closed AS SOON AS the money was pulled from my card I felt that was done purposely in a sneaky snake kind of way You need to inform people before they check in and pay Not immediately after It’s shady to do it like that

Alex Orozco

This spot was perfectWe loved the service and the roomPool was a little bit dirty but okay

The AC did not work to it’s fullest but it didn’t heat upSome areas where dirty but over all a very good experienceI RECOMMEND STAYING HERE

Stayed at many chain hotels And I was very surprised this one has been one of the best Most of the hotels I have stated at I have questioned whether or not I would go back and always leave feeling like we need to find a better one next time

We will definitely be back here Everything was great starting from my experience during check-in The receptionist Rochelle was very friendly, very informative and I could tell she cared about our stay We stayed in a standard one bedroom king No moldy wet smell in the rooms…Yes! No hairs in the bathroom and bed…Yes! There is no place like home but it is the experience that I expect from a hotel Breakfast times are longer than typical which is great so that I did not have to wake up early just to make sure I made the free breakfast Breakfast was average nothing special nothing different than other chains that serve complimentary breakfast Oh and no pets-sorry pet owners but definitely a plus for me Opted to check out in person just to see the experience And it was just like the check in Thank you! I’ll be back

Great hotel Very convenient location Clean and looks up to date

We have a large family and not all hotels have large rooms This room has sleeping space for 6, which was perfect The room was large with plenty of space and some modern lighting features Has usb charging ports Breakfast was a little so-so, but pretty standard to what I would expect at a hotel (very clean and hot) One negative was on the last day, the housekeeper didn’t see the “do not disturb” sign on the door and knocked loudly 3 separate times while we were still sleeping

J Rodriguez

This motel was clean and neat The hallways were a little warm coming in from the Texas heat, but overall we enjoyed our stay When we first entered the room, the shades were drawn and very dark

We tried to use the remote to open them, but never could get it to work There were holes in the shade which still allowed light to come thru in the morning, and not very appealing to the eye Breakfast was good There was an issue with the pancake machine, but someone promptly came to fix it Great variety of cereal, cinnamon rolls, eggs, sausage, turkey sausage, toast, bagels, milk, and juices We would recommend this place and stay here again

Room was very dirty we experienced a last minute change due to 3rd party booking

I will say, that I was more than pleased with the front desk service who were able to make the last minute accommodations We had driven from San Antonio and we were not in the mood for a 4-5 lay over with food in the car Thank you and for the $10 pantry coupon

John m

I had to ask for a broom and dustpan to sweep up food crumbs and debris from floor Dishes had food caked on them Dog hair and human hair on bedding

Like a lot of it Water bottles and a trash under ac unit Staff was very friendly though, particularly a young man named josh He was really professional and this saved our stay Otherwise, we would have gone elsewhere No pool, no breakfast Thats what you’re dealing with I do appreciate how quiet it was but wont be staying here again

We enjoyed how big the room was and that they had a little kitchenette with dishes, pots and pans etc The breakfast options could have been better but it worked for my family When we checked in the front lady said they were very short staffed so to get towels if we needed them

The pool can only be accessible through the outside but again it worked out Very good rates and only 25 min away from our destination at the beach

Maria P. Bell

This wonderful hotel is unobtrusive but wonderful Our room was huge, clean, and thankfully on the ground floor The breakfast is great and you get to make your own Texas shaped waffle

We even had biscuits and gravy on Sunday Even though you’re in a small town, you’re only 20 minutes from all the sights Holly made us feel right at home and gave us great local advice Give her a raise!

Lovely Deanna

Pros and cons mixed feelings for sure Justin and Jessica for the front staff are super helpful and kind The other lady I am not sure if she is the manager, but she had an attitude about checking in with my family and also when we asked about cleaning… room service did not come during our whole weekend stay

The hotel rooms layouts are nice and spacious, but needs to be cleaned all around, dishes were dirty, ac was dirty I wore white clean socks and literally were black from the floors… The breakfast was fully stocked throughout the whole breakfast hours, and simple

I booked a stay on priceline ( non refundable) and when we checked in they didn’t advise the hotel that it was a junior suite The clerk Jocelyn took care of our needs with a smile She’s a wonderful person and her customer service skills are outstanding

Corporate should be happy to have her on staff As usual the property was clean and well kept Every one there was very friendly and helpful They really make you feel at home Just a couple of reasons that we stay there every year The location is perfect for us Close to grocery and department stores so you don’t have to pay tourist prices for everyday essentials A five mile drive puts you at the ferry landing then your off to the sand I’m already looking forward to seeing everyone next year Thank you for the amazing stay

The receptionist Lily was lovely and so helpful joined us on the loyalty scheme very chatty and very happy to be of helpGood breakfastBeautiful pool and area good piped musicJust one small thing we thinkthe room had been remodelled but there was no hanging space and also in the bathroom a really disgusting towel rack which was completely rusted and falling off the wall!

Jose M

6/21/22 6/24/22 I can’t understand why would you remodel this place? Nice try trying to hide the mold that exist in this place90 percent of the room was remodeled but who would think a rusted towel rack would be of use Why would room service pick up our towels but won’t replace them or fix our beds? I was stuck in the elevator for 10 min and my daughter’s friends pushed the button from the outside to get the doors to open

As you walk into this place you smell the mold floating around So how long has this place been getting remodeled ? I’m not the kind to complain but after arriving to out room after being out in the sun all day I sure did not want to walk into a place with my sheets and covers on the floor I was so upset I packed up and drove home a day early I didn’t care what time it was I needed to get out of this place and drive back go Houston

Joe Ortega

Absolutely loved this place The staff was great, friendly and went out of there way to accommodate to my autistic child needs The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable

They had a hot breakfast every morning Coffee 24 hours in the lobby amd free laundry Pool had a waterfall and was very relaxing I will absolutely stay here again and recommend it highly

I stayed here for work from June to December 2021 I must say every single staff member goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant They listen to your concerns and resolve any issue immediately or within reasonable time

Smiles always Greeted warmly daily by either Eileen or Brandy after work Eileen is especially a genuine soul and great to chat with! Rooms clean with services after hours if needed Just all around professionals treating guests with a personal touch Cons: No elevator but only 2 floors so not so terrible and breakfast was all prepackaged items (due to covid) I’m sure that will go back to normal though

Daniel Kendall

If I could give them no stars then I would The first thing I asked the lady at the front desk was if there were any surprises, no breakfast, elevator not working, etc What they don’t tell you at booking is that they have no elevator

The breakfast is a horrible grab and go! They have no eggs, sausage, biscuits, toast, waffles, or fresh fruit The owner should ask himself if this is what he would want for breakfast! I told the young lady at checkout about the problem with the breakfast, and I got no apology She just laughed about it It seems to me that the reviews have been written by their family The first room I was giving smelled of smoke, and all rooms are non smoking They gave me another room, and it was okay The rooms have wood floors I don’t like wood floors in hotel rooms If someone walks heavy above you, it’s horrible It’s also uncomfortable The checkout time is 11am, and I don’t like check outs before 12 noon I am a diamond member, and the lady checking me in did not want to guarantee me the extra hour I won’t be returning

The location was great it was a short ferry trip to port Aransas Beach The service was great too But the room was not the best although the beds were clean the sink bowl was cracked and when you wanted cold water it was a little stream of it and If you wanted hot water it came out a lot faster but that is the only problem we had

Overall a good place to stay on vacation or business

Darrian Bertrand

Hotel room was dirty (something sticky all over the desk and hair all over the shower curtain) and the bathroom ventilation was poor (even with the fan on, within a few minutes of the shower being on the whole bathroom was soaking wet and there was moisture behind the large mirror in the room) This was probably why there was a strong musty smell Breakfast is also only a yogurt or a frozen sandwich, which has to be requested at the front desk

Not terrible for a night or two, but I wouldn’t want to stay there any longer

The heater didn’t work in the hotel The first night i spoke to the the gentleman about it and he confirmed it wasn’t working and he tried two other rooms but they didn’t work either The toilet wouldn’t shut off and the water was running the whole time

We had to use the hair dryer to help heat the room where we could sleep We woke up for the free breakfast but it’s not on, contrary to what is reported on the hotel site You are given a breakfast bag with a muffin, a fruit cup and a granola barTerrible customer service and the manager was never there and wouldn’t return any phone calls They never offered a room that had a heater that worked or any compensation NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

We stayed at this amazing hotel Feb 20,2022 until Feb 22,2022

This hotel is amazing because of it’s management They are the epitome of great customer service We were made to feel so welcome from the sign in to our rooms to the cleaning staff, pool staff, breakfast staff, etc There was always a happy greeting or a “can we do something for you to make your stay more satisfactory” The rooms are spacious and clean, the pool had many lounges and chairs and warm towels and the breakfast for the two days was more than adequate There was always coffee and hot chocolate available Recommend this hotel for its location to restaurants, shops and activities Great for single people or families

Large rooms with comfy beds Great pool area and breakfast was good too The beach was a 2 min drive and absolutely beautiful! So much to see, lots of big ships coming in the channel to watch and the jetty goes out quite far in the ocean-really neat to walk to the end of it So scenic and peacefulAll the restaurants we went to had superb food-lots of shrimp /fish If you like seafood you will love it here We tried Fin’s and Virginas-both excellent meals We will definitely be back here in the future!
