We were a little skeptical prior to our arrival as we’d read some of the reviews prior to this Whilst the price for rooms is slightly on the higher side, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here

The room was spacious, clean and it seemed newly renovated The bed was huge and super comfy, as well as the bathroom being really clean and sleek It was walking distance to a street filled with loads of awesome bars, restaurants as well as the beach Plenty of room outside to park our car as well as having a pool and hot tub included Whilst we didn’t use either of these, we did venture down for a look and it definitely looked inviting Had we had more time we would have definitely made more use of these facilitiesDefinitely a great place to stay, ignore the other negative reviews

We just came back from staying in this hotel and we appreciated the location but otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend staying here We requested and were approved for late check out our first day there (which we were paying $25 extra for) and this morning at 10:30, we get a call from the front desk saying our late check out was now not approved because they were now fully booked for the weekend and needed the room We had to quickly pack up and leave which was unexpected and a bummer on our last day of vacation

We also had issues with our initial reservation confirmation and the rooms were much too expensive considering the service and amenities It seems like this place could use better communication tools and organizational systems Hopefully they make some changes in the future

Great room, great location, some issues We chose for the style, location, and hot tub- Unfortunately the hot tub was broken, apparently for weeks- with no mention It wasn’t even clean, so a bit unsightly

A pretty big bummer to our get away to not be able yo relax as hopedAlso was charged for mini bar snacks that I did not consume/were never in the fridge to begin with

The reason we chose this hotel was because of the free hot cooked breakfast that was supposed to be included For the price, we thought that was decent considering we could have stayed elsewhere for the same price that included breakfast So that’s disappointing! Also, parking fee of $10 was not mentioned when booking room either

The deluxe room IS nice though because there is a bedroom and a living room (where the sleeper sofa is) so can’t complain about that Very spacious! So if you’re looking for free breakfast and free parking, look elsewhere I should have called ahead and asked all the questions prior to reserving the room!!

GymRat Repair

Pros; beautiful property, comfy beds, attentive staff also linens were soft ie towelsCons; Breakfast featured in pictures and on website but not available due to pandemic, pictures need to be removed and notated on website breakfast not available, also didn’t appreciate additional parking fee should be included in room fee without notice ALSO don’t book a room where room construction is below

Customer service was horrible when we first arrived Her name was Odalys She rude, doesn’t smile and not very helpful

The hotel is big rooms good size but it’s old So our carpet stain and the toilet Lots of bugs If it can be updated it would make the perfect hotel And they need new employees I am bummed because I forgot the name of the guy who end up checking us in he was AMAZING!!!

We had a wonderful time here Nice vacation spot with kids It wasn’t super busy too when we went

All staff were kind, professional and always smiledThe hike trail was one of my favorites, beautiful scenic view at sunset If you can’t hike it, you can access it via parking lotEvery part of the resort was beautiful for pictures I’d recommend to bring your camera !The bistro had delicious buffet options They had fresh juices and plenty of healthy optionsThe beach was okay I wish there was beach lounge chairs, umbrellas etc There was a dead seal and lots of flies It could be maintained better ( I’m guessing it’s not a private beach) The beaches on shoreline are better maintained and better for kids if that’s something you are looking forRegarding rooms, I knocked off one star cause we had pigeon poop all over the balcony And the toilet didn’t flush properlyOverall, I wouldn’t pay $1000 a night again This was my first time staying here but honestly you are paying for the name I’ve been to other 5 star hotels but this location wasn’t worth $1000 a night

WOW The beach location of this Ritz Carlton is one of the nicest in the entire California for sure I have stayed at all of the Ritz Carlton Resorts in CA and I can say this beach location is one of a kind

It is truly gorgeous especially during sunset The sunset view itself is worth the $1500/night The room is also spacious comparing to the other locations More of a Spanish style which I miss I owned few properties in Barcelona and Madrid and visiting here last week reminded me back in Spain- We had a great time and we will be back when the weather gets warmer ;)As always, the ladies and gentlemen at the Ritz provided top-notch services

Shideh Bahmanyar

It’s a beautiful and vast resort with great views The food we had for the event we were attending were great For dinner they did multiple tables and had an amazing poke table that was my favorite! I wish I had more time to do the walk to the beach but we were on a tight schedule

Enjoyed walking through the property for our scavenger hunt activity! Sure got our steps in!

This place had a great location and a fast and friendly downstairs lobby Everything was clean and we were in a suite which was a lot of fun! It had a nice living room, kitchen and dining room area and a separate bedroom and bathroomIt’s what you would expect for a hotel in Santa Barbara price wise, but we were definitely pleased

They ran out of parking when we came home from dinner late at night but they called up their security guy who showed us where we could park safely It was really nice of them and it showed that they cared about their clients We would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay here, the pool area and jacuzzi were great with plenty of chairs and loungers to relax in The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything we neededWe hadn’t planned on using the grab and go breakfast but after our first day that was all we had for breakfast

There was a good range and the cakes in the fridge were really nice! Good coffee too and the kids loved the range of cereal and fresh milk in the fridgeThomas on front desk was great, breakfast and the coffee was ready nice and early, great when you’ve arrived from a completely different time zone!

The staff at this hotel deserve 10 stars I brought my son to school and we stayed two nights The staff make you feel welcomed and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need

The room was impeccable and the grounds were very well taken care of You can tell the staff at this hotel take great pride in where they work The bed was super comfortable and breakfast was good Coffee, oatmeal and other snacks Not to mention you can grab some waters for the day I highly recommend this hotel

Rosemarie Melkowits

I almost cancelled my reservation after reading some not so nice reviews but am sooooo glad I didn’t Is it older, yes, dated, yes as some reviews said but I can tell you the rooms were very clean the beds were extremely comfortable and the courtyard was just beautiful The pool and hot tub were perfect temperature

It was only 60 degrees during our visit and the kids were in the pool that’s how warm it was Breakfast was a grab and go type, yogurt, granola bars, wrapped banana bread and lemon cake, oatmeal, cold cereals, fruit also breakfast sandwiches that you could take back to your room to heat up The lobby coffee was probably one of the best I’ve had Joel at the desk was such a great help I can’t say enough nice things about him He somehow managed to place my daughters room close enough to ours so we could help with the kids, which made our trip even more enjoyable Victoria was also helpful All in all we had a great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone

The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean, quiet, and in good repair These are the most important things to me, so it pains me to have to say a couple negative things, but I feel obligated as a traveler These are things I wish I knew beforehand: first, the little breakfast buffet is $13, which just grated me because even lower rated hotels manage to throw some bagels and coffee to their guests without an extra charge

I went to Target and got some bananas Second, you have to ration your coffee pods in your room if you choose not to have housekeeping come every day One cup, no more, or dig into the tea and hot chocolate pods Lastly, the bathroom has no fan, and the bathroom door is weighted to swing shut So either balance on one leg while repeatedly kicking the door open while you try to brush your teeth in the steamed-up mirror, or prop that door open with the trash can Neither is an attractive look But again, I slept well and that’s what matters

I usually book a vacation rental for my husband & I when we visit our daughter away at college in Goleta, CA Never again! It was always very uncomfortable and a little stressed not knowing how indeed the homes/rooms would fair vs the ads for the vacation rentals all whilst getting less worth the potential money saved staying at a full service hotel

The difference in vacay rentals and this Hilton Garden Inn is massive! From the ease of booking the room, arriving at the lobby greeted so great, the room was super clean & modern w/everything we needed and more! The gym had newish machines that worked like new! The rooftop patio bar was enchanting! Got some great pics of the sunset and the fire pit! There’s a little market in the lobby that has everything, the housecleaning crew were adorable and so helpful! An all around 10 outta 10 experience I’ll always stay here when visiting our daughter!! Thank you for the perfect stay!!! 🙂

Stayed there during for Thanksgiving Very welcoming staff, good room and swimming pool However the breakfast was a total disaster : buffet was almost empty (few fruits and some bread) and was not replenished, staff told that there were out of orange juice, coffee not great

And on top of that the elite breakfast credit is confusing and I received only it partially Next day I went to a nearby cafe and got a MUCH better breakfast for less money

We stayed 3 nights at this Ramada and were very pleased ALL of the staff were so friendly and helpful, every single person we encountered The room was clean and the bed was comfortable

We had a view of the lagoon which had multiple birds, turtles, and fish The pool and hot tub were clean, warm, and well kept They do offer a grab and go breakfast (we did not use) and have a freezer with some things you can purchase Our rental car plans changed and they were able to send a (free) taxi to get us at the airport within 10 minutes, and they arranged to have a taxi pick us up at the hotel and take us back to the airport when we left (free) If you stay here you will need a car or transportation plan, it is not within walking distance of anything other than a gas station and Ihop for the most part We used Uber had had good experiences with that For the price we paid (they were offering a stay 2 nights get 1 night free deal when we went) I was very pleased

megan lopez

If you like to sleep in past 8am this is not the place to stay Every time I stay here I get woken up at 8am consistently with the maids talking/laughing outside the room doors quit loudly The whole place echoes and the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything your neighbor does (I listened to my neighbor talk on the speaker phone for 3 hours from 6-9am and I could hear everything coming from the phone

) They are also doing construction and start working with Loud tools at 8 am as well No consideration for morning sleep here They have Comfortable beds, and cute patios, and they just started doing normal breakfast again so there is a plus

We got the budget queen room off of the lobby You are right next to the breakfast area and lobby which was completely fine with us We heard a little bit of noise but it didn’t effect us whatsoever

The front desk employee was amazing Super energetic and happy to be there He suggested a wonderful restaurant and was extremely friendly We ended up having the complimentary breakfast We ended up renting the bikes (for free) and cruised around the coast Super close to the beach and also close to downtown Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed at The Eagle Inn for 2 nights and highly recommend it We booked our reservation directly with the Inn and found Paul to be very friendly and helpful in helping us decide which room and location we wanted We requested early check-in (about an hour early) and were contacted by Peter on arrival day to say they were able to expedite room cleaning so we could check in early

Upon arrival Peter greeted us, checked us in quickly and easily and pointed to the just baked chocolate chip cookies Our room was very clean, comfortable, had adequate space for our needs and was very quiet Peter was on duty each day, answered all our questions, made some excellent suggestions for dining spots and was a pleasure to speak with Breakfast was served each morning in the dining area and we enjoyed the food There was a selection of either a hot breakfast or yogurt with various accompaniments such as granola and nuts or cold cereal with berries In summary, we won’t hesitate to stay at The Eagle Inn again when we spend some time in beautiful Santa Barbara

KJ

We had a lovely room on the second floor in the front We were so surprised to have a sunrise and enjoyed the complimentary delivered breakfast on the balcony in the warm January sunshine The room was large and clean and included a big tub with jets

The hotel is conveniently located to the beach, State Street and the funk zone The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the woman at the front desk upon check-in with recommendations for restaurants and other areas of interest We enjoyed our stay in Santa Barbara and the Eagle Inn was the ideal spot for us

We stayed here in their ocean view suite It had such a nice room/patio! We enjoyed that we got complimentary glasses of wine with our stay Room service wasn’t going since it wasn’t the weekend, but we ate outside at the restaurant and the food and service was good

We enjoyed how they have games throughout the grounds (chess, checkers, croquet), how close it is to the beach and parks, and how the buildings are split up Great hotel and wonderful service by everyone!

khristine jackson

I had a meeting with some VIPS We also had to discuss “Top Secret” details concerning a project

So I decided to arrange the meeting in my suite I had stayed at this hotel some years back when it was owned by the late actor and hotel owner Fess Parker He guest starred in the television 📺 series called “Daniel Boone” This property is rather largeso you may want to have a golf cart ride you to your buildingencase your not in the main lobby area The hotel has made some up gradesgone are cookiesthey use to give They were so delicious 😋 🍪😂 I included a few pictures Unfortunately I couldn’t include pictures of the lunch and equipment because these VIPS would not want to be included in an online review what I can say is my view of the ⛱️ beach was superb There is a poolSelf parkingThe bed 🛏️ was rather shorter but really comfy I really loved the 🚿 shower The buildingsyou must use a key card as a safety measure There is a park close by and an area off property where you can exercise In the end even though it’s no longer the Fess Parker It’s still a lovely place to spend a weekend, vacation or have a business lunch on property

Catherine Berry

We stayed here three nights for an anniversary getaway, and it was wonderful! The property is beautiful, a set of Mission-style buildings facing the ocean across a wide expanse of grass and palm trees Our room was very comfortable, and the accessibility features for my disabled partner were top notch However, the very best thing about our stay was the staff

From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, often anticipating our needs before we even asked I will definitely stay here again the next time I need some pampered relaxation time

My husband and I stayed here during his business trip Perfect location in the Funk Zone and just a 10-15 minute walk to down town Santa BarbaraThe staff were extremely friendly and aimed to assist me with whatever queries I had

There is a huge kitchen near reception where you can prepare and cook your own meals should you wish, and a large communal table for guestsWe had a large room on the ground floor The bathroom had an odd layout, where the shower door was right next to the toilet Since this hotel is located near the highway, it does get noisy!Tips:- If the road noise from the highway is an issue, ask for some ear buds at reception! They were more than happy to hand me a couple packs- There is a happy hour between 5-6pm

Phyllis Langley

From the staff to the location to the comfy beds, I was so impressed with the Waterman Hotel I would 100% cone back to stay here because you cannot beat the location for the price, beautiful pool and other helpful amenities like the full shared kitchen You can walk to all of the great spots around the Funk Zone for breakfast, drinks and dinner

Franchesca Wyatt

This was the perfect spot to stay in the Funk Zone It was easy access to everything! The service was amazing I accidentally dropped a bottle of wine in the lobby

I felt so horrible that I made a mess The GM cleaned everything up and replaced my bottle of wine with one of theirs It was top notch service I would 100% stay here again!

Overall hotel was fine Nice pool and breakfast My biggest issue is when we checked in on a Monday night they must have had several rooms available because they asked if we wanted the first or second floor

I opted for the first floor Everything was fine until the morning when they started to remodel the room right next to us promptly in the morning Lots of construction noise and there was tools and supplies outside of our room pretty much the entire morning We were planning a slow start the morning and unfortunately it wasn’t pleasant with all that noise The other minor grip was in the morning of our departure We had a very early flight and I went to the lobby to get coffee and it was empty The desk check said there wouldn’t be more until breakfast started, which was slightly disappointing, as we had to leave prior to breakfast I thought it would have been nice if he offered to make some more

Honestly one of the nicest family friendly hotels we’ve stayed in and conveniently located only about 15 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara We utilized the gym, pool/Jacuzzi, complimentary bikes, and mini golf course Bonus is great breakfast food at the hotel and Starbucks coffee if you can’t make it over to Dune Coffee just down the street

Very good hotel but it has issues The most obvious is the expense I got the best deal available and it was 340 a night

Women should notice the warning about the hotel posted about chemicals used on property can cause birth defects Restaurant was not open but the Starbucks we No safes in room although they have one available at the front desk Marriot has terrible support issues so don’t bother with their apps

This hotel is rundown and has not been kept up The walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything in the rooms around you Rooms are small with old scratched/ dated furniture and dirty carpets

For this price point I would expect a lot more- I’ve stayed all over Santa Barbara for years and have had much nicer rooms with better service for much less money Disappointing- would not recommend

Incredible accomodations The 5:30 cheese and wine was a delight Tasty danishes in the morning too

We got a garden view which also showed the pool and the ocean The place is designed to have comfortable social settings for guests and I really loved it Also no air freshener in the rooms which is awesome We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in Santa Barbara

I couldn’t decide whether to give West Beach a 3 or 4 star review I’m a bit sour over the cost/value, and frankly feel a bit taken The room was clean & large, the bed comfortable, the staff pleasant

We had an ocean view with a big sliding glass door and patio that looks over the road so it’s somewhat noisy But basically, it’s an old roadside motel that’s been remodeled to a clean, well-located Best Western I don’t think the street/ocean view was worth the added cost I would recommend staying a few blocks inland and taking a nice walk to the beach instead

We found this hotel the day of our arrival It was a group of 4 of us and prices were ridiculous that weekend but they were able to give us a great rate for a suite with two bedrooms The stay was comfortable and chill

They also mailed me a very special purse that I forgot at the hotel Most hotels never mail you your forgotten belongings I am so thankful they did!

Sometimes it’s hard to find a good hotel where you can just relax, lying on a sun lounger by the pool, drinking a good Mojito, especially on a hot day Lemon Tree inn managed to surprise me, it’s an amazing place for the price, especially when comparing alternatives in Santa Barbara 20 minutes walk and you are already in the city center with a huge number of cool establishments, the restaurant in the hotel itself is also worth noting, it is really good, it reminds of the vintage atmosphere of the 90s, but what delicious food, it is even tastier with a 10% discount for guests

From controversial points, it is difficult to contact the staff, but given the busy days, it is quite difficult for them to answer everyone, but they try However, if you want to have a good time, this hotel is for you

Patty Hlinka

Front desk staff was amazing, personable and professional They worked very hard to honor my specific requests for where I wanted my room located That was so appreciated

From desk staff, waiters, gardeners, housekeeping and maintenance you cannot ask for better service and friendliness I have been staying at Lemon Tree when I come to SB from northern CA for over 25 years, it is like coming home There are great restaraunts all around and a new Starbucks about 1 1/2 blocks up from LemonTree on State that is awesome You can’t go wrong with Daily Grind and their heavenly scones Can’t wait for next trip to SB and Lemon Tree
