Perfect stay for the forgetful travellers as WALMART is literally right there Lol We stayed on the second floor

They accommodate smokers with at least 3 outdoor dedicated smoking areas Pool and hot tub were clean with (small) towels provided (More details on website) Breakfast was very plentiful as it included hot and cold breakfast with many options (buffet style) I would stay again Favorite thing about the room is that the window was not screwed shut which allowed opening for fresh air

Michael Storandt

traveling for work and there was a schedule mix up so I couldn’t make it to Grand Rapids so they still charged full price for the cancellation fee Understand that for a same day cancellation they would charge a fee but one would think they would discount it Guess it is always worth while to pay a little more and go to a hotel with a no penalty cancellation policy

denise freeman

Both were so high in chlorine it burned our eyes gave us a rash ruined bathing suit!!!¡fumes in hot tub where so bad couldn’t even sit in had to stand to get away from fumes !!!!! This is not good!!! I had a family member who was receiving care at the Spectrum Health complex nearby and the hospital gave me a discount code to use at the Hampton Inn here This is easily the highest-end hotel I have ever stayed at Cushy, comfortable and a highly trained and competent staff

I would stay here again if given the chance, but I’m afraid it may be priced out of my range without the hospital discount! Thanks to Renucci and Spectrum for making this available for us!

Alisha Spencer

Very disappointed in our stay here Room wasn’t cleaned well, old food items from past tenants were left, fridge was broken, nothing appeared to be wiped down Fire Alarm went off at 6am, apparently was a false alarm but never bothered to send any staff out to update guests standing outside while it was snowing

Some guests were in pjs with no shoes or coats Finally went up to lobby while alarm was still going off to find staff at desk Was extended a credit for parking which i never got and charged full price for room even after multiple hours were spent out of the room for alarm Never received any kind of outreach apologizing for the inconvenience Submitted concerns in a survey after the stay and still nothing I certainly hope they fix their emergency plan so their guests I would expect better for $300/night on a weekend

jane buntic

The room was clean- the bed was at an angle that was difficult to view the TV We were not given any additional details on pool hours- my husband went to the pool at 8pm & couldn’t access entry We had to get up at 4:30 the following morning I had to call the front desk to obtain info on how to access tv channels

The variety of tv channels was very disappointingWe had to leave before breakfast was available, we would rather have had a discount on the price of the room, rather than a granola bar & apple It might be advantageous to give a discount tto persons using your hotel because of procedure’s at the OAM SURGERY center

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars all around

Here are the reasons why I didn’t First, the hotel is in a perfect location You don’t get the river view, but otherwise you are central to everything downtown The rooms are quiet, except from outside noise (from the windows), you definitely have city sounds that creep into the living space all night long But if you have a 1 room suite, shut the bedroom door and you get total silence But my major dissatisfaction came from 1) the website said there was evening drinks/appetizers offered Sun-Thur but when we checked in were told it was only light appetizers on Wed evening Second, breakfast kind of sucked They were out of one or more items each morning (No cream for coffee, no potatoes to go with the eggs, no fresh fruit, it really changed daily) They kept saying they were waiting on a truck, but I really think they just were not ordering correctly as this was the fourth Hilton property we’ve stayed in over the last two weeks and no other property had this issue, including the one I’m at now writing this reviewI do want to give a special shout-out to Prentice He was extremely helpful and friendly If anyone deserves a raise, it’s that guy for sure Thanks for making our stay better

Big comfort rooms, mini kitchen, tableware on shelfGreat breakfast in the morningStaff at desk friendly and courtious

A bar on main floor and roof top with selected hours The waitress really great; smile at greeting, checks on you if additional order wantedPool lower level of hotelSecurity nice: room key required entering from outside sidewalk (after7pm), and to rooms 3-6 and roof top loungeFamily stay or business; it’s a nice getaway, hope to return

Awesome location in a historic building in Grand Rapids Close to everything that can walk just about anywhere in the city which is great The staff was okay as had to see front desk people three times to get a key to work for the in and out for garage

The garage is a little pricey compared to rest of garages in area, but hotel does provide in and out access which is nice Room was perfect for my wife and I with our toddler as he had a bed in the living room area and we had our private bedroom We could cook which was nice, but biggest positive was having a full size fridge after visiting the Fulton Street Farmers Market and the Holland Farmers Market Would stay here again if had kid with us just for the space of the rooms

Brianna Hellrigel

We had a wonderful 3 night stay here for my birthday The staff was incredibly friendly and professional I would like to commend Drew especially for going above and beyond with our accommodations

The whole hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed a dinner in Margaux’s outdoor igloos which was cozy and fun, as well as the delicious breakfast buffet inside the restaurant The omelette chef was amazing and greeted us each morning as well Would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area and not to mention it is within walking distance of all the best spots in town

Natalie Bell

The lobby is so awkward in when you check in

it is pretty shabby if you look closely around especially the ceiling Also in the rooms the windows were filthy and smelled very foul My room smelled different bad than my mom’s adjoining room which was odd The rooms are nice though esp the bathroom configuration We also had a very helpful bellhop and the man who checked us in was also very good They do need to let guests know the elevator takes a keyand the railing at the elevator bank needs to be higher seems so low for being 9 stories upI slept really well here which is priceless The luncheon buffet was good, and the evening bartender really went the extra mile and was very attentive Breakfast was also good but a tad $$$ $50 for two meals and 2 coffees Good brewed house coffee

Courtney Guthrie

The staff was very professional and kind Shout out to the front desk guy who checked us in last night – he was a manifestation of an amazing front desk associateThe place appeared very well cleaned

Our room was beautiful I very much enjoyed staying here Plus the Starbucks is a bonus 😎🥰

very clean, staff was always helpful, room was spotless, restaurant was attached to end of hall excellent food didn’t even have to go out in the rain to eat can’t understand why it doesn’t rate as a 5 star Breakfast was very good eggs were scrambled and moist very good I would absolutely stay again when back in G

R Anyone who complains will complain about any where they stay I travel a lot and this is a great place to stay, bottom line Great job management if it was my hotel everyone would get a bonus

Beth Severns

Down the road from Craig’s Cruisers, across from shopping and food everywhere Came with kids and utilized the pool/ hot tub The pool was busy around the clock on the weekend with mostly other kids

Customer service was friendly and accommodating with each encounter Breakfast was exciting because of the waffle maker, but make sure to get in early to avoid linesKid friendly and local to everything Would book again if ever in the area

Christopher Bucher

Loved the room, very clean unlike some reviews were sayingThe pool and hot tub needed a little work, taking a star off for that – water in the pool was murky, and it is 4′ at the deepest segment The hot tubs jets were weak and too wide to be effective

Breakfast was good and included eggs and sausage patties as well as waffles, cereal, etc

I checked into what was called the Executive Suite with a Jacuzzi tonight The room was disgusting The night stand/tables CLEARLY had not been touched

There was a sticky substance with hair The tv had splatters all over it which had dried The refrigerator had a nasty film where something had spilled and was not cleaned The hot tub had hair in it Even though I reported the condition of the room when I arrived, nothing was done I tried to make the best of it but end up leaving If I can’t trust the furnishings to be clean, you think I’m sleeping in the bed??? The front desk lady called the manager because I asked for a refund She said JOANN said for the front desk person to go clean the room UNACCEPTABLE! This room was $175 and I deserved a better room than this I was denied a refund even AFTER the front desk clerk went and verified my complaints Not a happy customer and will probably not return again

Annette Etchison

This was a very nice Best Western It appears to have been recently renovated and was done tastefully It was clean and the bed was comfortable

I’m not really a fan of the functionality of the barn door bathroom door, as it doesn’t actually completely close, though it sure looked nice I just think a bathroom door should completely close while in use

Tracy Hue

We only stayed one night and fit for that need However the first front desk person could not get an extra blanket because she didn’t know where they were, but the second one knew We did not check out the breakfast because we had to leave for competition

Also, the shower leaked and the bathroom door is a barn door slider that doesn’t lock Overall not a bad stayJust an FYI the large castle looking building in the picture is not the actual hotel It’s an apartment building The hotel is smaller

Really enjoyed this conference center Very friendly staff, very accomodating and willing to help The large lobby is supportive of a community feeling, all lobbies need to be like this

The reason for the 4 star is a very noisy fan in the bathroom We mentioned it on our way out because we assumed it would not be able to be fixed on a weekend The location was ideal because we had a relative graduating in the area The breakfast and snacks were plentiful with 24 hour coffee, other beverages and fruit Lots of nature and trees in the area

Alex Larner

Let me start off by saying that I have been a conference organizer & AV tech for 16 years, running conferences anywhere from 300 to 3000 attendees all across the state of Michigan Just this past weekend I lead an AV team at a conference here, where we rented out the whole conference center I must say that in all my years of administrating conferences and AV, this place ranks head and shoulders above the rest

There are ethernet ports and power hookups every 3-6 feet along the walls in all the rooms and open areas, plenty for vendors, speakers, and AV to never have to compete for power or internet The wired internet speeds are 1Gbps Up & 100Mbps down which is fantastic for live streaming The great hall and all the breakout rooms are all wired for HDMI & XLR and contain ceiling mounted projectors making presenting in any of the rooms a breezeThe pricing is very reasonable, especially considering there are no extra charges to use their cables or equipment, and there are no charges to plug things into their outlets or ethernet ports, unlike most venuesThe staff are outstanding and extremely accommodating, they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need When we had AV issues during our AV setup the night before the conference, the AV staff (Rob & Matt) stayed past midnight to help us troubleshoot the issue, even running all over the place to get us spare equipment and cables to help troubleshoot Even though they were supposed to be off the clock by 9 PM During the conference the AV staff (Ashe, Matt, and Rob) were always available to get us a cable or an adapter at a moment’s noticeFrom now on, I’ll highly recommend for any conference that I run or am working on that we use the Prince Conference Center

Angelina Amato

I called and Sonali answered to help me book a room She was absolutely AMAZING! I think it was a little hard to hear me because I was trying to find a hotel since mine overbooked and she was so nice and understanding! The rooms were nice and cozy and got the job done for what I needed One major thing I care about when checking into a hotel is how clean it is, no cutting corners and they absolutely got that down! Having cable was a special touch, my kids were able to watch what they wanted and then I was able to watch a movie

Breakfast in the morning was light but they had many options to choose from so didn’t really bother me Everyone here was super nice and I will easily choose to stay here the next time I’m in the area

This place is great The second shift girl, Middle age, glasses is so polite

There was a little confusion the next day I was supposed to have check out at 2 but they thought 12 but they fixed it right away for me There breakfast was great The got tub is really hot not cold or like warm Rooms are so nice and clean and the shampoo and conditioner are not those little bottles that you need to use three or four for they have actual bottles in there for you to use it’s great it smells good I love going there at least once every 2 months and bring my kids

Andrea 1994

Check In: Checking in was a breeze The young lady at the front desk was nice, and friendlyRoom: The room was clean for the most part minus the pictures I attached below

These include scuffs and scratch marks I was shocked to have a room on the first floor However, I was not disappointedParking: There was amble parking even though the hotel was quite busyBreakfast: N/ARoom Cleaning: N/AOverall great stay the room was acceptable for the price and quite clean

Mom Secret

The rooms are great, the hotel seems like a local hangout though 18+ kids birthday party last night, little babies with diapers on in the hot tub, and there definitely wasn’t any bacon for breakfast There’s literally not enough room in the 5ft deep pool for guests that aren’t staying, and getting a football to the head and seeing the saggy diaper baby climb out of the hot tub made the water seem really, really unappealing

The only thing that I was happy with is the continental breakfast and hot coffee There was a display with a complimentary bottle of water that read “Ask about me”

And when I asked I was told it was something they were doing a long time ago My question is why not take it down if you are know longer offering bottled water The rooms are dirty, some rooms were so bad that people asked to be moved to a different room The hotel is located in a drug infested area The staff was very nice and pleasant but that did not make up for filthy rooms I was there on business and if I had a choice in the matter I would have never chosen that hotel I will never go there again

Muktar Abasanbi

This hotel is very clean and the front desk people were nice My only recommendations are1 The windows are not sound proof

The noice from outside is loud2 I recommend putting toothpaste in the bathroom3 There is no smart TV in the room My kids tried to watch something on YouTube but the TV doesn’t support YouTube (not smart)Everything else, wonderful!

Ashton Fuoss

The room was okay, a lot of things were broken I smelled weed coming from somewhere at night The front desk attendant who checked us in did not answer my questions

He could not find our reservation at first, did not want to explain why I was being charged an extra 50 dollar deposit after I paid for the room months in advance We picked a room with a jetted heart shaped tub, the fixtures only produced water around 85 degrees and the spout was loose The doorknob on the bedroom door was brokenOverall not horrible, but not at all worth the price

Lovely stay at this wonderful location I’m not into the traditional Bed and Breakfast where you usually stay in old accommodations with old decor and then eat breakfast with strangers We stayed in the New York Loft with every detail taken care of and a delicious breakfast delivered to our room in the morning

Whirlpool tub, comfortable king size bed, tile shower, and heated toilet seat with a pool nearby We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing stay in this little oasisThe bathroom in this unit was a little small for my taste, but this did not detract from the experience

Cs Josey

Relaxing, super clean, private retreat Many special touches with the bird hoses with chirping baby birds, slightly splashing water fountain, hammock and chairs for relaxing Beds were spacious and comfortable with plenty of pillows

Fresh baked goods in the kitchen and a snack basket in room upon arrival Heated towel bars, heated toilet seat- more hot water than one would expect for such large jacuzzi tubs- filled completely with out running out Hosts value your privacy, but are easily contacted for any needs you may haveHaving breakfast delivered to the door around 10 am was AMAZING!Well worth the trip!

Erika Fleming

We stayed in the Upstairs Guest House (Note that this room’s jacuzzi only fits one person) Everything was clean and organized; the staff were kind and attentive; and communication from staff was very clear leading up to, during, and after our stay

We loved the couples massage, the hot breakfast delivered each morning, the bouquet of flowers, and even the DVD selection We enjoyed walking around the local area too Would highly recommend for a weekend away!

This review is specifically for the Accessible Room on the first floor Clean and spacious, linens seemed stained and older, but clean Bathroom was well set up and had the movable shower seat

Very clean! The room hasn’t been updated in awhile, but gets the job done You can hear the pool echoing during the day, but quiets down once people leave for the night Service was great! Woman at the front desk was a great help and very friendly and professional Continental breakfast was standard fare, but no real gluten free options except fruit and yogurt Location is tucked away off a side road, but had parking available for us Good value for the cost if you’re looking for something close to the airport

Tom

Our family stayed one night with two toddlers Everything from start to finish was perfect, from the staff to the accommodations This was without a doubt one of the best customer service experiences we’ve ever encountered

The staff were very sweet with our kids! The pool was a little outdated but still tons of fun Breakfast had tons of options including scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches and other cold items If we’re ever back in town, we’re staying here!

C. Morgan

The staff here makes this place Very nice employeesWhile staying in Grand Rapids we made reservations here at the Fairfield Inn & Suites

My observations were that the rooms were fairly updated The Cleanliness was not as good as I’d hoped The bedspreads had dark staining almost like makeup (see photos) the refrigerator had previous guests items in it still The Bodywash in the shower was empty There were broken tiles in the bathroom Water pressure was good The room was fairly quiet, you can occasionally hear your neighbors beside and above (we were on 2nd floor) The breakfast was okay, nothing wonderful but they did have hot foods, and cold cereal as well as fresh fruit to choose fromThis wasn’t a bad stay, it was just not exactly as I had expected it to be I would stay again though The location was good, we were able to visit many attractions and you could literally walk to many restaurants in the area

We needed an overnight stay ahead of a competition at Grandville High School, so I was happy to find this Hilton hotel right behind the campus The hotel and our room were impeccably clean, and the breakfast had a great variety of foods to choose from The only issues we ran into were our digital key in the Hilton app did not work upon arrival, the parking lot was plowed poorly so there were many unusable spaces, and our sliding bathroom door was very hard to move

Other than those small issues, we had a good stay and would not hesitate to return for our next trip to the area Finally, the location is fantastic with easy access from the freeway and plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, including a Costco with gas station a short drive down the same street

Although finding the entrance was a little tricky, we full enjoyed our stay We were in town for an event at Grandville High School, and this property is very conveniently located, with an access drive to the school located adjacent to the property Everything inside and outside the property was very well maintained

Our first floor room was perfect for our family as it allowed space to spread out and relax and the wet bar provided area for snacks and drinks The pool area was a favorite of our kids Although there were no pool towels when we arrived, the desk staff immediately found towels for us to use The morning breakfast bar and coffee area were well stocked and maintained by the friendly staff My kids enjoyed the available hot chocolate as a pre bedtime treat My wife and I both comment on how comfortable the bed and associated linens were They were neither too hot and heavy nor to light and cool This is an excellent facility

Matthew the General Manager was stellar The ideal example of customer service, compassion, and consideration When unforeseen circumstances arose, he ensured I was taken care of lighting fast before I even had to ask

Exceeded my expectations This is where I will always stay when I’m in the area Great leader, great staff, great property Highly recommend

This hotel is amazing! The GM of the hotel checked us in The process was quick and efficient, and he was super friendly and accommodating to our requestsThe Hotel staff were friendly and always greeted with a smile and a “hello”

Breakfast was good, including sausage, eggs, waffles, and I had no complaints from the kids! There was one gentleman particularly who was very helpful in the breakfast room, and had a conversation with my sonvery pleasant! He even helped him get syrup for his waffles! The room was clean and included a note from the housekeeper welcoming us Our beds were comfortable, and the room was spacious with a nice TV Access to the highway was very easy, and there were many options for dining nearbyAlthough we left our fur family at home, it is also nice to know we could have brought them with us as the hotel is pet friendly We will do so next time!Overall, if I could give this hotel a rating it would be a 10+ No complaints at all, just a relaxing few days away from home with my family with awesome accommodations! Highly recommended! We will be back!

Can’t say enough nice things about this place! We were running late and I called to be sure they wouldn’t think we were a no show on our reservation The gentleman who answered (I believe his name was Tim) made note of it, wished us safe travels and said he’d see us soon We arrived close to 1:00 a

m without stopping for dinner They had microwave meals and sodas available at the front desk, which were just what we needed at that moment Tim made sure we had utensils and napkins, asked if we actually had a pet in our pet friendly room and told us where the best spot to take our dog out was Our room was clean, pretty, quiet and comfy, with down pillows on the bed and great water pressure in the shower Our only regret was having to leave at 6:00 am (the one time in my life I was checked in and out by the same person) He wished us safe travels and made sure we had hot coffee…we were too early for breakfast We will definitely stay again and highly recommend

Great customer service, great looking room and very clean Only thing is the curtains don’t shut completely for privacy at our window and the heat took long to warm the room up The window not being able to close with the curtain made the room even harder to warm up because of the cold air outside coming in, which the bed was located right next to the window

Other than those things it was clean, quiet, respectful staff and very friendly and everything we needed was all already in the room Although, hot breakfast would’ve been great

Weird layout to the rooms We liked the sitting area but not impressed that there isn’t a sink outside the bathroom Plumbing is INSANELY LOUD! Woke up this morning to what literally sounded like a person repeatedly smashing on our wall with a large hammer

It was from the pipes due to the people upstairs taking a shower Crazy insane loud! NOT a good way to start your day Toilet doesn’t flush properly, we need to take the lid off the tank and mess with the plunger Lock on bathroom door doesn’t work Pool area is VERY small The place is quite clean though and a very well stocked hot breakfast (coffee was very good too) Staff was very friendly and helpful

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel!!! From the moment we walked in, when we received a fabulous welcome from the desk attendant, to the time we left, with more kind words from ANOTHER desk attendant, we were so pleased with this hotel The room was beautiful, clean, nicely appointed, and comfortable I noticed others comment on noise–that was not our experience even though the hotel was fairly full with lots of children running around

The complimentary breakfast the next morning was tasty and nicely laid out, and the lounging area was great Our only disappointment was the rain that started to fall just as we walked out to enjoy the outdoor firepit Not their fault! LOL! A great stay at a nice hotel with terrific staff Two thumbs-up!!!

Veronica Phoenix

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful However, we asked for a quiet room away from the highway, which we did get, but they put us directly above the firepit area which was supposed to close at 10 or 11pm There was a sports team out at the firepit ALL night

We called the front desk multiple times starting at 12am to no avail It was 6/7am before the party broke up – loud music, loud talking We paid to get sleep and got no sleep
