We had my parents stay here for a family wedding in Keene The room was great Big, clean, comfortable, fully accessibleThe staff were amazing

Every member of the staff was friendly and helpfulHalf of the family stayed in this location and raved about the comfort and friendliness versus the sister hotel across the parking lot that was horrible, unfriendly and unaccessible (Except for the woman who attended to the breakfast She was awesome)

Max Hotkowski

Fine hotel with a great location in downtown Keene Right near the center circle, there are tons of restaurants and stores to walk to and neighborhood by a coop groceryRoom was nice and big (1 king), fridge and microwave

The limitations of room service were slightly confusing as cause some minor hectics with getting clean towels and removing trash Nothing major Laundry only had one working washing machineVery small pool, but enough for young kids to play Workout room looked smallLimited breakfast, but did not partakeVery friendly desk staffSeems like it’s a pretty busy hotel considering the convenient location and low competition

We’ve been staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in Keene NH for eight years starting when our daughters were attending school further east in NH Over the years we’ve made the Courtyard a regular overnight stay with favorable experiences every time The property is well maintained and is kept clean and neat

The rooms are comfortable I like the thermostat to adjust the heating and cooling as opposed to controls on the HVAC unit that never seemed very precise The staff is always prompt, friendly and accommodating The only downside during our recent stay was the the on-site bistro wasn’t operating The bistro was always a good option for a quick meal The Monadnock Food Coop right next door is a great option for food with their expanded cafe We’ll be back again and I recommend the Courtyard in Keene

Awesome place, would highly recommend! We stayed here in a double queen with our two kids (4m and 4y/o) and the place was fantastic The staff was so friendly during the whole stay The room was one of the cleanest of any that I have stayed in and had enough room for a pull out bed for the 4y/o

Loved the flexibility to have breakfast in the room or dining room depending on how the kids were doing Speaking of breakfast, it was awesome Fresh baked muffins that were the best I have had every morning with some great choices At the end of the night, the room was close enough to the restaurant to go to after we had the kids down to grab a couple drinks watching the monitor

I stayed here for a wedding in Keene and could not recommend this Inn enough Everyone working the front desk was so kind and helpful The rooms are gorgeous – ours had a small deck and fireplace

Super cozy, clean and comfortable I think they even have dog friendly rooms! We had dinner at the Inn’s restaurant – our waitress was fabulous with such helpful recommendations and vegetarian accommodations The food was amazing! This is a must for a New England weekend getaway Looking forward to returning

The Chesterfield Inn is really special This is a charming and delightful country inn The room was spacious and nicely furnished

The Holiday Inn Express was a delight Check-in was quick and easy The recently updated rooms had the most comfortable beds with heavenly pillows

The pool was just big enough to get in some laps before breakfast And breakfast was a great surprise with more options and gracious help on hand The pancake making machine was a novelty and made good pancakes Thanks for making our visit special Four of us stayed in the last two rooms available The stars aligned for us this particular week Thanks to the staff for their gracious hospitality, and the sunrise through the trees was an added bonus

Avoid at all cost The room had an awful smoke smell There was mold about the size of a hamburger bun on the bathroom ceiling

The smoke detector keep beeping and the windows were cracked Myself and my girlfriend mentioned the issues and all the front desk offered to do was give us a candle for the smell and take $35 off Overpriced as well $175 for a night, ouch

We ended up using the Holiday Inn Express, for our guests to our 100 person wedding We had the unfortunate situation of working with an employee who was working during their two weeks notice, which caused us to not have a written contract with the hotel chain We fortunately were able to get a discount code generated for 25 rooms

Overall, this was a pretty stressful situation, which caused many guests to not be able to get rooms with our preferred rate, after the initial 25 rooms were bookedThat being said, the staff at the front desk, and particularly Alice who is a manager for the hotels around the area, we’re very sympathetic and helpful in trying to resolve the situation I truthfully believe that if we had worked with a different individual during our initial correspondence, we would have had zero issues I would use them again in the future, but I’d be sure to have something written and signed before proceeding Our guests also had very nice stays, and were impressed both with the cleanliness and the better than expected breakfast!

Need to advise future customers Older hotel Pillows are old and stained(very yellow)As if a 100 plus sweaty heads slept on it

I mean super yellow water marks It had such an Awful smell(BO)The room had a musty-mildew smell The AC made the smell worst There is carpet underneath the bathroom sink The room needs a major renovation The lobby is the only section updated/renovated Changed hotels after a nights stay

Jae-Woo Choi

Hotel could use some improvements1 Insulation is very thin

You can hear kids running around in the hallways all day and night2 There is no hot water And it’s not clear when it will be restored Looking at other reviews, it seems to be a common occurrence

Ended up traveling to Vermont for myin-law’s life celebration, We booked a room for 2 nights at the colonial motel We had a good experience I traveled with my two children and husband

I love that the rooms were set up as an efficiencySabrina was wonderful, welcoming, and hospitable breakfast was also great

wendy limbaugh

Very out dated It looked much nicer in the pictures The room smelled like a nursing home

It was so bad we bought air fresheners The pull out couch had stains on the cushions Beds were old springy mattresses The staff nice but the breakfast had stale cereal and unrecognizable eggs I definitely wouldn’t stay here again The other guests seemed as though they were long term and did not send off a welcoming vibe

Bob Meyers

This is a dingy old place in a very convenient location Rooms are smallish and dark and badly in need of remodeling They have soap dispensers in the bathroom which would be OK if they were filled

You shouldn’t have to pump the dispenser ten dimes to get a teaspoon of soap in the shower The free “breakfast” was a couple of muffins and a few slices of bread Orange juice was empty I could go on, but there seems to be plenty of other places in town – give them a try

DON’T do it! Do yourself a favor & find a different hotel I was here for two nights, only needed to sleep & shower The smallest pillows ever, it seemed clean but the rug was gross & I never got any housekeeping, there was no sign on my doorknob to put out on the outside door

The front desk person, no hello, no smile, no welcome & when I checked out, no ‘how was your stay?’, no smile, no nothing He wasn’t interested at all The worst customer service experience! I’ll never go here again It sucked!

BED BUGS!!! After a week’s stay my daughter was filled with bites and has been left with scars from a serious bed bug infestation Our room was right next to the spot that looks like a blood stain in the hallway and it’s a filthy place We found live bugs old shells debris and bug fecal matter

when we brought it to the managers attention he accused us of infecting the room with bed bugs when we asked for a different room he declined and immediately kicked us out We spent the following week at the Best Western across the street which was spectacular, had great fantastic customer service and completely bed bug free Spend the extra $15 a night at the Best Western and save yourself the expense of hundreds of dollars of laundry, bloody scars and a nasty owner The owner was not surprised at all when I brought the live bed bug to him in a bottle He told me he was going to hire a specialist to evaluate the room to see if it was a pre-existing infestation or if it was brought in there by me or my daughter The problem was I’ve never seen a bedbug in my life and I had no idea what a bed bug bite looks like and it wasn’t until we found a live one and looked up online did We realize what it was I made two attempts to try to get him to reimburse me for all of the clothing that had to be washed and cleaned and for a partial refund and he said good luck and get a lawyer

Disgusting I had no other choice since i got to the town late(trucker), but man what a waste of money I wish i could report it somewhere i still have that disgusting smell on my clothes🤮🤮🤮🤮

Unbelievable! Please if you value your life do not stay here We were sold a room window was covered in plastic with cracked windows and tapedTwo full size beds in the room one was covered in white sheets no quilt the other an empty metal frame with no mattress

Did I mention the sketchy characters sitting outside? Needless to say we left but not before almost $200 for the night we tried calling the manager but he never called back This is a very badly run hotel and possibly dangerous to your health

Christine H

Our room was fine, but I unfortunately think we just got very lucky The area of the hotel is VERY sketchy with people lurking around Rooms are non smoking but don’t be surprised if yours smells like an ash tray still

Rooms might not have a deadbolt either No breakfast and no pool Beds not comfortable and hard Once arrived immediately wanted to cancel but unfortunately could not

We’ve passed by the Inn so frequently over the last 40 years we finally arranged an overnight stay 3 days ago We were pleasantly received and the accommodations were clean and comfortable Earlier in the day before our arrival, very icy conditions resulted in a slip and twisted ankle

The receptionist changed our second story room to the first floor without hesitation per our request Thank you

JMM

Lovely place, renovated rooms, very clean, scenic, by the Contocook river Staff is friendly Lots of coffee, cold drinks, and snacks available

Coffee maker in the room Heater was noisy but didn’t prevent me from sleeping Room was also very warm even on a low temp setting Do not hesitate, very nice place We had 8 people all in five rooms and we were all happy with the rooms

Yin Henrie

Loved this place Idyllic, beautifully groomed setting, large rooms, front porches

From start to finish probably the nicest bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in The Inne is a wonderful combination of both elegance and charm Our breakfast was served on English China and sterling silver

What a wonderful way to start a day Susan and her son David were so hospitable and helpful We can’t wait to go back Thank you for making our weekend so wonderfully memorable

Sam Hong

My wife and I stayed here for three nights to see the fall foliage We really loved staying hereSusan and David (owner and son, respectively) were excellent hosts

From the booking of the stay to check out, we felt welcomed by SusanWe stayed in the Slate room with an “en suite” bathroom It is situated directly above the dining area The room was clean and the bed was comfortable The house was originally built in the late 1700s, so it experiences creaks of an old home But it was very quiet for usThe common areas of the dining, kitchen and living areas (and the patio too which we used during a warm day this time of year) were comfortable and cozy There was a Keurig coffee/tea maker available 24/7, along with a tea kettle for steeping tea if you preferDavid made us breakfast for the three days we were there Although he is not a professional chef, he made us breakfasts that are better than 90% of places we’ve eaten for breakfast in restaurants David’s breakfasts were the bestSusan was the kindest and fun owner of a B and B we have stayed with Although we have not stayed at a lot of B and Bs, we’ve been to enough Susan and David really go the extra mile by learning who you are as a person When we introduced ourselves to Susan, I use a catch phrase for people to remember our names (Sam and Patty) by saying remember the fish salmon patty Susan joked and said she only had smoked trout She mentioned this to David and the morning we had a charcuterie plate, there were lox And in another conversation, we talked about how our daughter has an apple festival for her birthday and the last morning we had apple crisp How many places can you think of where they would do something like that to make your stay even more enjoyableIf you want a fun place to stay with the best hosts possible, this is the place to stay It’s close enough to many restaurants in Keene, but far enough away for privacy We loved it here

Patty Wenzel

Susan, the innkeeper, was very sweet, accommodating, and a wonderful hostess The inn is clean, quaint, and beautifully decorated Breakfast was excellent! We would definitely return to the Bridges Inn at Whitcomb House if coming back to this area

Susan suggested other things to do while in town, which we did on her recommendation; the covered bridge tour (about an hour by car), and “Maple Weekend”; when the sugar houses allow visitors to experience the process of making maple syrup (& sample it)!

I wish I could give this hotel zero stars It was disgusting I don’t know how anyone can give this hotel a high rating

My room smelled musty and everything felt damp I had to keep the window (which was covered in some sort of nasty film) open during my whole stay There were black hairs in and around the sink Additionally, I got up to get ready for work I get out of the shower and the front desk is calling telling me that the person below me is complaining about banging coming from my room I got up and got into the shower I’m not sure how there was banging but if that’s the case they need to work on their noise reduction between rooms I’d rather sleep in my car than stay at this hotel again

Megan M

They gave away our room

the room that was under my name, to someone else without asking that person for identification When I tried to check in, they asked me several times if I checked under a different name, but I provided them all my information and showed them all the details of my VIP priceline itinerary and details They then proceeded to try to make the other person who snuck into our room come down while the owners made us wait 20 for nothing and then ended up having a different room The nightmare doesn’t end there The fridge had some just god awful rotten food still in the fridge from, I’m not sure how many guests ago It made the WHOLE hotel room stink We proceeded to open the windows and use disinfectant spray, but the smell definitely lingered Even little things line hairs all over the place and not even the toilet paper could be changed?! I will never come here again, nor ever recommend to any friends or family!!

Had a great one night experience here The room was impeccably clean, huge, and had a view of the river too! There was an issue with the TV not working but Ken made his way up and took care of it within minutes Just a reboot needed but it was great having that level of customer service

They also had a sleep number bed that was perfect I’ve never slept in one and it was extremely comfortable!

Lee D.

Had a great stay here for one night due to a snowstorm we did not wish to drive through We were able to book a room the day before with no trouble The room was very spacious and had everything we needed for our nights stay

Bed was comfy enough, not a huge fan of sleep numbers, but it did the trick If we’re ever back in the area we will definitely be staying here again

Meredith Passey

My boyfriend and I were looking to go away right as summer started, but didn’t want to travel too far or spend too much Found this place on a Google search and were blown away by it’s charm, cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff The view is amazing! The room is absolutely beautiful with hardwood floors and huge clean bathroom

It was in perfect distance to all the hiking, food, and beer we did while in NH/VT I could not recommend this place more!

Fantastic stay and this wonderful boutique hotel The general manager checked me in and was super friendly and helpful and he gave me a free upgrade to a two-level suite because of my Marriott membership status, what a wonderful room The hotel has nice touches like exposed brick and has photos of the interesting history of the location as a former department store and hardware store, etc

The hotel is not run down at all as a previous reviewer mentioned, my room was spotless and up-to-date The hotel is in great spot right on main Street with fantastic restaurants nearby and a roaster coffee shop four doors down and another marvelous organic coffee roaster on nearby Emerald Street The Fairfield inn has a good included breakfast and also is attached to a good restaurant next door Can’t wait to visit Keene again and I will definitely stay at this hotel again

UPDATED FROM 5 STAR TO 1 STAR SEE UPDATE: Quirky art deco style hotel conversion, possibly an old bank or store, in a quirky town Expect flaws

Rooms are comfortable and clean In fact fixtures, carpeting, furniture was a little on the higher end Understand this building is probably 100+ years old So if a creaky floor is what you call run down, I wouldn’t stay here If you call it charm, this is your spot Not your usual Marriott Personally thought it was fantastic UPDATE: unfortunately I spoke too soon Breakfast buffet is guarded Of course I do not know what I want, hence the reason it’s a Buffet I am presuming it is for my safety, yet there is no mask mandate at this hotel, the tables are 3 feet apart in the room they are serving breakfast, and the person guarding the breakfast is not wearing a mask Also the coffee section is not guarded I do not want to lean over the counter and try to figure out what they have for breakfast Will not be returning to this hotel

Jenna Struble

Overall, highly recommend this very nice property in lovely downtown Keene Excellent service by Michael who was super kind and professional-he not only ensured my stay was a memorable one, he loaned me a charger The suite was nice, with Keurig, two bathrooms(!) and nice decor

I did find the mattress to be a bit too firm and the air conditioning a bit too loud The bedroom can also be improved with a chair Breakfast room and choices were good
