I can start off by saying you get what you pay for here and it’s one of the cheaper places in town What got my was the 4 star average rating for this place The rooms are small and crammed and a little out dated

We also had a cockroach in our room There’s also a homeless man living in the back parkinglot plus a lot of shady people staying here Just be weary of the higher rating before staying here The front desk staff was nice though I’ll give them that

Great hotel for the price, nice and clean This is no high end hotel of course Some of the nicest people in the world are in Johnson City, except for those who work at this hotel

I VERY specifically asked the Manager how I could park my small trailer so I didn’t take up too many spots He said I could either disconnect it, or back it onto the grass so the truck was in the parking spot He went on to say I can “do whatever you want here, you are the king” Next day I get serious attitude from some maintenance guy about how it was parked so I politely went back to the Manager about Wrenchy McGruff and now he says I can’t park on the grass, or I can check out (with attitude) Real nice It’s a budget hotel and I don’t expexct the world, but it doesn’t cost anything to treat your customers with respect

We enjoyed our stay They called us the morning before our stay to see if we were bringing a pet and had our room completely ready in a clean pet friendly room For a stay with a dog, it was smooth and had no issues

Customer service was exceptional from beginning to end They were doing some renovations, which we knew coming in, and it didn’t impact our stay whatsoever Will stay again next time we are in town!

Breakfast left something to be desired but I guess it was free after all Pool needed some maintenance and a good cleaning but was pleasant enough Rooms were outdated and linens needed refreshing (one of ours actually had a hole it was so threadbare)

But I loved the location (perfect as a road trip stop) and the little balcony for fresh air Staff was extremely friendly! Would definitely stop again

Lindsey Boss-Ruch

The room was dirty, crushed chips on the floor, lots of dirt and dust around the bed and headboards The bathroom was disgusting, looked as though water had poured through the ceiling at some point The freezer had a box of pizza rolls in it that was frozen to the shelf

The hallway ceiling was literally falling down and the wallpaper was held to the wall with thumbtacks The side door did not close, so no security there Dog barked for half an hour at 6 in the morning Breakfast was eh And you will absolutely hear the people in the room above you Staff was friendly enough

BE AWARE! DO NOT LEAVE ANY PERSONAL ITEMS!!!! I stayed here about 1 month ago for my birthday The bathroom was dirty and had hair all over the floor After checking out I realized I left my shirt and charger in the room

My husband called and asked if anyone turned in my items to lost and found and the front desk rep advised my husband that she located my shirt and charger in the lost and found She said she would mail it to our residence in North Carolina It’s been almost 1 month and I still haven’t received my items I have been calling the hotel multiple times a week for the past 2 weeks trying to figure out what happened to my items and always getting the runaround, they will lookinto it and call me back I have requested to speak with a manager multiple times and have never been successful with speaking to one One of the front desk representative’s, Casey, has been extremely rude and has the worst customer service I have experienced at a Hilton hotel!! She refused to transfer me to a manager multiple times and even lied saying she was the manager She never attempted to help me figure out what happened to my items and had a horrible attitude She hung up the phone on me several times and refused to let me know what hours the manages work so I can call during that time None of this makes any sense and all I wanted was to get an explanation about what happened to my items No tracking number was provided and nobody calls me back to give me an answer!! I can’t help but to think someone stole there stole my items and that’s why they wont let me speak to a manger to get answers! Please BE CAREFUL staying at this hotel WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I didn’t expect this from a Hilton hotel!

Heard about this hotel from a girl that swore up and down they had an AMAZING breakfast with this biscuit covered in all that is holy down south Now that I went to see for myself, I swear I would hire that breakfast staff full time if I won the lotto tomorrow 😍 We stopped in Johnson City on a very long road trip and everything about the stay was great Brand new hotel, great friendly staff, and unlike other hotels that hand you an apple and granola bar, they have something home cooked for breakfast along with all the regular staples

We were very happy with the stay

Ajimon Thomas

One of the most nicest hotels Ive stayed at in a while No complaints at all We stayed there for 1 night only

Plenty of parking Our room was super big for some reason, we might have booked an accessible one by mistake Nevertheless, it had a king bed and also a pull out couch Very spacious The first thing you see when you enter your room is a welcome sign with your name on, as the tv wallpaper The room also came with utensils and other stuff, more than you will need The bathroom was neat and thr shower pressure was so good The breakfast opens at 7 am and it was really nice So many options to eat and drink The hotel also has a pool and gym although we never used it We also got some cute tips from the reception and the staff was really helpful Definitely going back to this place if we ever get a chance

Here for a softball tournament The hotel was the host hotel but they were not very host like Broken elevator, out of towels at the pool, add a $250 fee if your kids our load during quiet time

Parking lot wasn’t the best The in house restaurant was understaffed and not many options Wayne the bar tender was amazing nice and polite Needed help running the restaurant and bar The lady running breakfast buffet came in on her day off was amazing also she had to cook and stock the buffet on top of cleaning the tables The hotel really drop the ball on this However they had so many front desk people maybe one or two of them could of help out in the restaurant or at least kept up with the towel and house keeping Our room never seen a house keeper we was in it for almost a week Trash was over filling so we went got a large bag to dump the trash in The room need so serious cleaning Found broken glass and other trash beside the bed and under the chair cushion The bed wasn’t level or very comfortable The remote work half the time The bathroom paint was cracking and falling down The bathroom was designed for kids not adults The counter was at way below waist and the toilet felt like you where sitting on the floor I’m 5ft10 so I felt like a giant in there The room doors don’t close alway until you pull them shut and check to make sure they close The little market they had on site was low or out of stuff

Autumn S

The entryway was very nice and the staff seemed friendly The parking lot was a little weird and seemed small for how large the place was The rooms were not as nice and the entrance and “garden view” apparently just means access to the pool

It would be convenient had I brought my bathing suit, but few plants were in sightWent to check out breakfast but it was going to be like $12 for a standard buffet unless you pre-purchased meal tickets with your stay (which wasn’t offered when I booked) so we decided to eat elsewhere Stay wasn’t bad but I think we’ll stay at the Holiday Inn Express like we usually do next time, at least we always know exactly what to expect like breakfast

Lorie Young

We stayed here for 4 very long days and I would not recommend this place to anyoneDo not let the lobby deceive you It is beautiful, updated, and very clean but that is not the case for the rest of the hotel

There are two elevators in the hotel and only one worked the whole time we were there The buttons inside and outside the elevator were filthy, the hand sanitizer stations near the elevators were empty for all 4 days, we couldn’t tell what was on the floor… was it pizza sauce or blood? And the one working elevator, was very slowThe room we were given was right next to the elevators All night long, we heard the elevator going up and down, stopping at each floor and would bang really loud every time it would stopThe rooms have not been updated The bed was uncomfortable There was mold in the shower, and the bathroom sink didn’t drain It’s like everything was designed for shorter people If you over 5’5” good luckAnd finally, there is a restaurant in the hotel but it is only open during breakfast and dinner, and that is if the cook shows up The breakfast is not free, you actually need to add that to your reservation if you want it included Spend your hard earned money at a different establishment

The campus itself is beautiful Obviously well maintained and, given the traffic, people clearly enjoy it The public areas were beautiful – lobby and pool were fantastic

We very much enjoyed the pool and hot tub The bar had great ambiance However, our room left much to be desired It was so small and very outdated Super tiny Wouldn’t recommend if traveling with children The linen on our bed had extreme pilling, which I found to be tacky for this type of accommodations The room was very dark, also adding to the sense of being outdated The staff was not particularly friendly or welcoming, which is never great Glad we gave it a shot, but we won’t be returning

Russell Miles

Very much enjoyed courtyard and bar/grill We are local so did not have a room Drank and ate in courtyard by the bar/grill

Main restaurant was closed on a Sunday so it was very quiet and peaceful Bar opened at 4 and food available at 5 Had a couple good craft draft beers from bar Wife had a local Gypsy Circus cider which she loves Shrimp and Grits was good Wife’s BLT probably best we’ve ever had Service at the bar was excellent A bit more expensive than usual haunts but was well worth it for good food and drink in the comfortable, peaceful courtyard Will make this a regular after hiking Bays Mountain, etc

William Heath

It’s very expensive and they charge for wifi and breakfast And the a/c barely worked in my room Not worth it for what you have to pay

I’ve stayed in nicer hotels that are cheaper for the money The Hampton inn in Johnson city was a lot cheaper and the rooms were way nicer and they even had a nice couch to sit on almost like a den area and nicer bathrooms And they offered a breakfast that was complimentary It wasn’t greatest breakfast ever But they offered a decent variety

Very nice place, I had to stop here by surprise in the middle of the night so I stayed here I got there very last room and it was everything I needed It was clean, a little warped because of the humidity in the air but that’s fine

I just wish it had a coffee maker on the inside but overall I had a good room and a good experience The service here is great, you can tell people like coming here it was completely packed from people who consistently come to town If I find myself back in this town I’ll probably stay here again especially for the price

Rochelle Broadus

The room wasn’t very clean in regards to the floors The sink drain was gross&had some miscellaneous items down there There seemed to be a problem with fruit flies in our room during our 3 night stay

The staff I encountered were friendly&nice This hotel is ok to stay at if you need a cheap, convenient&somewhat comfortable place to stay

Easy access from the freeway and lots of restaurants to choose from The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful The hotel was clean and updated with a nice free breakfast selection (scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins, juices, coffee, etc

) The room we stayed in was clean, large and nicely appointed with a sitting area, microwave and a refrigerator The decor and finishings were fairly recently updated and well maintained The only reason I took a star off for the room was the tub/shower floor was slanted towards the center and hard to stand flat under the shower It felt kind of spongy and I wondered if I’d end up in the bathroom of the neighbor below me Other than that, everything was great and I’d stay there again

Jessica Mead

I booked a 2 queen bed with sofa pull out bed When I arrived I was told that over booked I got offered a king size suite with a pull out couch

I told the lady I had 3 big kids with me that I didn’t think that would work She said that’s all they had And I knew I wouldn’t have been able to find another place I asked for a discount and was told I would be paying much more if I had the regular price of that room I told her that’s not my problem because I wouldn’t have picked that room to begin with So no discount I go into my room the bed is hard as a rock The pillows are so thin you sunk into the bed The toilet leaked Bath tub was disgusting I went downstairs to ask for pillows for the pull out couch, was told they didn’t have any but offered me a blanket to scrunch up as a pillow There was only one extra blanket for me pull out bed One of my children slept on the floor (I offered to instead) It rained the next morning but by the time the pool was supposed to open it was sunny Got told the pool was not opening because of thunderstorms even though it was not raining and no thunderstorms Just an over all experience with too many excuses

Michael Rojas

Used a 3rd party (a perk from my work) to book my 4 night stay through the 4th of July Booked 2-3 weeks prior to visit and had in the special requests that I needed a pull out sofa since my wife and son would be with me While checking in I was pretty much shook down for having more than just me in room and was forced to pay and additional $20 per night for having my family with me before checking in

Pretty much negated any discount I was receiving for using the 3rd party My card was already charged so refusing to pay and trying to look for another hotel was out of the question The lady wanted me to tell her how much my discounted price was and said if I cancel with the 3rd party then she will try and give me a discounted rateAs for the room, the foundation must have done some serious shifting cause the door to the room wouldn’t lock with the latch It wouldnt line up straight and would just slide open The bathroom door wouldn’t stay closed and wouldn’t lock The 1 star that I give this hotel is for the a/c actually working well and kept room cold Everything else about this stay pretty much sucked

This is our second extended stay at Staybridge Suites in Johnson City In 2021, everything was fantastic In 2022, this hotel has deteriorated quickly! Examples: Garbage and towels put out in hall for pickup, still in the hall one and two DAYS later

Garbage from many guests at the trash can by the elevator (bags and bags), not picked up for days It was a fight to get towels, and then we would have to go to the desk to get them The room was not cleaned a single time in ten days We had to request sheets and change them ourselves The room had a broken toilet seat The slider shower door would not stay closed The lights and fan on the microwave didn’t work They had malfunctioning fire alarms, and didn’t bother to tell anyone whether or not to evacuate BUT THE WORST PART the front entrance is full of cigarette smoke I don’t care that people smoke, but I don’t think guests should have to navigate a crowd of smokers to get in the front door They could have a designated smoking area on the interior lawn but then I guess the front desk people wouldn’t be able to smoke and watch the front desk We spent about 2k on this stay, just for the hotel Very disappointed in the conditions and the lack of staffing to manage the hotel appropriately We didn’t eat breakfast, well, because if the rooms and common areas are that dirty, can the food really be all that sanitary?? Good points laundry is still free, but go early to get a machine The mattresses are comfy The two king suite is nice for a family; has two bedrooms/bathrooms and actually had three king beds If you are prepped to do all of your own linens/towels/garbage, then this might be an okay place to stay!!

John Paskell

Not a good experience this timeI got here at 7:00pm and rooms were STILL not ready Had to wait 30 minutes to get into my room

Then I went to buy some frozen food from the front desk, just to find out the GM does not allow you to put food on the roomHad I known that, I would have picked something up while I had to wait on my room to get readyNow I have to go back out to get something to eat! It’s OK though it’s not like gas prices are historically high oh waitBad job IHG, bad job

Brandi Elliott

Stay was OK at best However my main issue

we booked at a military rate which should have been discounted for the 7 days we first stayed + the 17 extended days a few weeks later They charged us the full rate and assured us they would refund for accidentally charging Supposedly the manager was out “sick” so she had to wait for her After a MONTH of the run around now we’re being told no refund… absolutely absurd we are getting screwed out of $600 This WILL be reported as it was their mistake and essentially now fraud

First time staying here At check in Jeff was very nice and friendly Fast check in and he explained everything and the fees they hold at check in and I got them back one day after checkout

They do serve a breakfast here but we didn’t get up in time for it The hotel was very clean and the rooms are nice The indoor pool was nice and heated Great location with great views right off of I-26 with stores and restaurants close by

Kendra Bryan

Edit: after letting the front desk know about the AC not working in our room, they apologized and said that there are no batteries for the thermostat They aren’t sure why it would say low battery when it’s hardwired into the wall with full electricity, and that was after I showed her the video of what it saidShe said she would put in a work order

No compensation or incentive for the 2 nights of sleeping in 75+ temps She was nice tho and did say sorry

Zadi Sunset

If you are not more than 50 miles away from this hotel company policy denies you a room Company policy says to not give rooms to locals This is a lie because I’ve stayed at a comfort inn in Jonesboro TN and I live in Johnson City

If you are trying to get away from home for the night and don’t live 50 plus miles away do not try and stay here Otherwise you are just wasting your time and gas

When we arrived our room wasn’t quite ready due to staff shortages Which we felt was understandable in these times The front desk attendant provided superb customer service, and was very apologetic

He provided updates as we waited I said to my family, “I bet that is Gabe” They said yes, and asked why I said because there were numerous reviews that mentioned the great service they received from Gabe As mentioned on those reviews, the IHG Corporation needs to take care of this staff member This is what makes you want to come back to this hotel, and this type of service is becoming harder to find Also the other staff that were working hard that night at getting rooms cleaned and ready were working super hard and very courteous I hope the upper management team is finding ways to reward these individuals

I have got to say if I could I would give them 10 stars 🌟 The staff is amazing The room was great

Breakfast was one of the best I have had My son lives in pinny flats so I am always booking ahead when I come visit him Only one thing was the pools heater was broken so it was too cold to swim for me But everything else was amazing Thank you

We stayed here while doing training for a job We loved it We had a room with two queen size beds

The beds were very comfortable, but small to me There was a small size refrigerator with a mini size freezer compartment It is sufficient enough, but if you’re going to be staying a while you may have to get things to eat every few days Of course there is a microwave that you can utilize for warming food or whatever you may need it for The bathroom and shower were very clean and stocked, but if you need anything that you don’t have you can go to the front desk and ask for a complimentary item Overall our stay was very pleasant and the breakfast was beyond awesome Their breakfast actually had hot and cold dishes as well as the normal which includes cereals, waffles, muffins, breads, several kinds of milk, yogurt, etc If you’re not interested in their options, there are several other restaurants in the vicinity If you’re looking for comfort at a home away from home this location should be your go to We enjoyed our stay here We hope that you can as well

They except pets The room we stayed in is clean and reasonable They had a group that stayed in the room next that partying most of the night and we could not even hear them

Good sound proof Wish they had zippered mattress covers The bed sheets and comforters are white which is good to see things Dark ones are used to hide stuff they even let us check the room before checking in Breakfast was ok it was hot we have had bad and we have had great this was in the middle but for the room rate it was on the better side We will stay again We stayed in 3 other places in the area some were cheaper and some were more but we will stay here again over all the others good balance for price The parking lot was well lit
