We stayed several nights visiting family It was affordable and clean We had a king and pullout couch

Staff was super helpful and the older place is newly renovated Rooms are spacious and appealing The breakfast is basic continental The indoor pool is the most dated part of the building Simple, quite, safe and clean Thanks to the staff Would stay again

It’s a 55 minute stay from Athens, OH but there wasn’t much available Because of that it was really expensive We ended up with a handicap room

The good:it was clean It had been painted/remodeled recently The workers were friendlyThe bad: The shower drain was sticking up at least 3/4” and I was afraid I would slice my toe That fear grew even more real when the timer light turned off while I was in the shower and I was left in complete darkness! The hotel was full so it was crowded and very noisy all night Light spilled in from the windows so it was not dark in the bedroom The bed felt like a small queen- and had a large divot so my husband and I were rolling towards each other all night I barely slept My mother had requested a wake up call and it never happenedIt didn’t feel dirty or unclean, but I don’t need to stay here again

Upon walking in this place seemed to be undergoing some much needed renovations Although no activity was visible or heard, the plywood over windows and unmatched interior design hopefully suggests that updates were being done We were glad we were there only for one night

The walls in our room were filthy with black hand prints, splatter of who knows what, and holes The box spring on the beds were fully visible and the chair was grossly stained Restrooms are always on my radar for the dangers it presents health wise The sink had an awful smell, that of rotten eggs, when we washed our hands, the hairdryer was falling of the wall, and again walls and door were just nasty The work out room didn’t have any cleaning supplies to clean the machines after use which is gross to think of how many people have used them The odor on some of the machines was disgusting knowing no one has cleaned them Needless to say we were not comfortable with the cleanliness of the room in general or the safety since the doors bent open at the bottom when pushed The location is ideal just at walking distance from restaurants and shopping strip

K

Easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! They didn’t tell us that they were doing renovations, which we weren’t upset with, but with small kids it would’ve been nice to know The pool was miserably cold, the breakfast was pitiful and they closed it down early, and the fitness center was a joke! The first room we were put in was filthy, there was a hospital bracelet on the floor right when we walked in, food still on the floors, etc The bathroom light didn’t work

I called the front desk and was told they would send the maintenance guy Two hours later I had to call again because no one had showed up, and we couldn’t even shower or use the restroom without using our phones for light Pretty dangerous trying to bathe in the dark with small children The guy at the front desk sounded like he had forgotten but did try to come help Unfortunately he couldn’t and we were told that maintenance wouldn’t be back until 9 pm so we were given the choice to wait or move We moved and the new room at least had all working lights but still I could’ve easily forgiven an inconvenience or disappointment or even two, but when it’s multiple and the whole place looks and feels like a dump, it’s pretty frustrating! You might as well save your money and stay at the cheapest motel you can find, it’s really not much of a difference

Kelly Kark

Beds are comfortable and place is quiet The place is old and dirty Hallways look like they have not been vacuumed in months

Toilet plunger outside of Room next to us Room dusty and unclean No towels in the bathroom Place smelled of weed when we came up to our floor We stayed at the Marriott across the street on our last visit and will book there next time

This hotel saved the day after canceled fromA hotel nearby due to no staffing We arrived at 10:15pm and were greeted by the night staff She was AMAZING

She was kind, helpful, and genuinely cared about or quality of stay something we haven’t seen in upwards of 3 years with this pandemicThe hotel is new so most everything was in tip topShape The king beds were so comfortable, and pull out was just as good (according to my kids!) I truly hope that your employees are paid as highly as I recommend this hotel that woman who took care of us upon our late arrival was great She made us feel right at home We hope that when we return for a future event this hotel is available AND that it is in just as amazing condition!

We have stayed at this hotel MANY times over the past 15 years Our family lives in Lancaster and we travel there to see them 2-3 times per year We ALWAYS stay at this hotel because the staff are excellent and the rooms are very nice

We love the convenience, the indoor pool but especially the fact that we can bring our pets The accomodations are very clean and nice and the breakfast is wonderful! We highly recommend this hotel SB

Rich Brady

My brother, Craig, and I were supposed to have a handicap accessible room with a roll-in shower for me We we there for our dad’s calling hours and funeral We didn’t get that

We had a bathtub that I had to slide into Well, I ended up with bruised butt bones, and broken tailbone ’cause I thuded down when I slid in, ’cause the grab bars wouldn’t let me lower myself down safely And, the shower hose wouldn’t reach me very well, as I had to sit in the bottom of the bathtub to shower The bed, well it was too high and hard to get into it We needed a wheelchair accessible room, but didn’t get it But the breakfast was awesome!

Dannielle Martin

Great hotel, can be seen from 33 and easy to find Room was large and clean Everyone was very friendly and the young lady who checked us out on July 29th even gave my husband a print out of directions to our next destination, Walnut Creek, Ohio

We took a back roads route that was very scenic and we loved it Special thanks to her for giving us those directions It was very kind of her to take the time to find and print the directions for us Would definitely consider staying at Mainstay if ever in that area again

Very nice, newer hotel which is immaculately clean However, breakfast was just ok They had a lot of choices, but the food was not good quality

Potatoes were salty, egg omelets were barely warm, the hard bolied eggs were old and rubbery, sausage was rubbery The room only had a chair and so both my husband and I could not sit down comfortably The room is large enough to have a sofa, so I don’t know why it doesn’t The bed wasn’t very comfortable The room was noisy, (we faced the freeway) Not enough lighting in the room at night There was no bath mat, so the floor in the bathroom got wet However, it was still a nice stay I wish that they would fix these things and it would be 5-star Staff, Cheyanne, was bubbly and helpful

I was too tired to keep driving I thought red roof would be decent It was FILTHY! Hair in the bed, bugs all over, everything was covered in a layer of God knows what

The sheets smelled nasty The shower was disgusting and trailer sized Unknown substances (brownish) spots on the walls If I could have continued driving I would have left but I had no choice The info sheet says breakfast but they only have coffee and I didn’t even try it because I was afraid the coffee maker was nasty The front desk lady was nice though

Friendly advice: STAY AWAY from this place!!!This so-called “hotel” is the dirtiest hotel I have ever seen! Stains everywhere, the floor is in a horrible shape, the shower is so filthy that I couldn’t dare to wash myself in it, and roaches everywhere The room I was given smelled like cigarettes, and I later realized that they allow people to smoke in the rooms!! They even have an ashtray in the room for smokers!Last but not least, they advertise that they serve breakfast, THEY DON’T!! I went downstairs to the breakfast area and noticed that there was nothing there, so I asked the person in the front about it, and I was told that they actually don’t serve breakfast

I paid $81 for this filthy place, which is way more than what I usually pay for much better and well maintained hotels (with breakfast)

PGH Live Music

Do not stay here!! Invaded by ants here Told front desk they said “they were aware but not successful at controlling them and that they use ant bait but it only encourages more ants” Also, The water is well water with brown sulfur and stained tub

Water stinks So does linens because probably washed in that water Also they advertise breakfast (which was reason we chose here) and they said no breakfast Only gas station coffee Front desk people are nice but doesn’t help much when you are infested with ants Get an exterminator and a water softener and don’t advertise breakfast when there is nothing off the sort Will not go back to RED ROOF INNS

We stay exclusively at Holiday Inn and I was a bit disappointed with this one While the room lay out was nice and the drive to where we were going was short and sweet the rest sort of lacked except for our housekeeper that I met on Saturday, she was so sweetThe room was clean for the most part but if you see that the walls need wiped please wipe them, as a guest I should not be doing that

The shower curtain was in need of changing as wellMy biggest complaint is that we needed an additional comforter and when we went to the front desk to get it they told us they are booked up and have no additional stuff and did not give us an additional comforter I have never experienced that in a hotel and was so irritated at that pointThe breakfast was decent but not the best Nice to have a hot breakfast to wake up to thoughThe attempt to upgrade the hotel and rooms falls short as well and is not complete compared to the other Holiday Inn’s I have been staying in

Jim Paterick

The room was clean and the staff friendly The TP seemed like the cheapest sandpaper available I really prefer a bath tub in my room, the room only had a shower

The TV schedule was not correct The list had incorrect channel numbers The breakfast was actually good compared to the normal Holiday Inn breakfasts Automatic front doors so you don’t have to fight the door getting your baggage in like most other Holiday Inn Express locations

The staff were nice The fridge barely made ice I turned on the ice maker in the freezer on Friday

For the total weekend, there were a total of 20 ice cubes, maybe Glad the freezer was cold enough to freeze my bottle water The toilet in our room was very low The bed was extra soft I’m used to a more firmer bed To top this weekend off, our car (along with 4 other guests) was broken into The thieves busted several car windows & stole the cash they found It wasn’t a lot of cash in the car It cost us more to pay for the window replacement Then we found out a similar incident happened a couple months ago at this location Our vandalism occurred between the hours of 12 midnight and 2:30am Monday, July 25th, 2022 During our stay there was a police car (what we thought was a police car was actually security) in the parking lot during the day At night this security person would make rounds at each hotel in the area In the end, 4 cars at this hotel were vandalized and 7 cars at the next hotel Needless to say, we don’t plan to stay at this location again We did file a police report and the front desk person was helpful in supplying guests with bags to put over their broken car window and a broom to sweep out the broken glass In the end, I wanted to share this with others to make them aware of the possibility of car vandalism in this area

I had called the day I was arriving to make this reservation I chose this hotel based on price, and the fact that she had a pool When I called this specific hotel not the 800 number to make the reservation they did not mention the pool was closed

I would have stayed at one of the many hotels nearby had I known there was no pool available I had been driving a long time and I’ve always enjoy swimming when I stay in hotels This detail should have been mentioned as it was listed as an amenity

Ted Vartorella

Despite appearing to be an older Hampton the facility and rooms were clean Strong smell of cigarettes as we entered the lobby area but not in the room Despite being clean there was peeling paint in the bathroom, a nonfunctional thermostat shell on the wall and loose wall paper noticed in room and breakfast area

The staff was very friendly and polite The breakfast was above average for a Hampton The facility needs a total interior face-lift
