The Nobu Ryokan Malibu is a fabulous, relaxing, elegant property, with amazing, uncompromising, top of the line service The entire staff worked seamlessly together, to create a most memorable and enjoyable stay Our suite was sweet and spacious, with two luxurious spa like bathrooms

The room has a couple easy fixes that need to be addressed: ie a new carpet in the living area, discoloration’s or oil stains on the couch need to be removed, and the bed needs to be replaced It felt like a futon, a thin, hard, old futon mattress, which detracted from the luxurious vibe the hotel is striving for Located right on the ocean, we enjoyed our terrace for sunning, relaxing, dining, and taking in the ocean scene One of the rooms highlights was the mini bar It was completely personalized, down to the very last detail All requests were answered thoroughly While staying at the Ryokan, I also enjoyed a very powerful Reiki session in my room, through Fit Concierge I HIGHLY recommend having a Reiki session at the Ryokan, it was like the icing on the cake for our stay I hope you get a chance to stay at the Nobu Ryokan Malibu soon Thank you one last time too, to the entire Nobu Ryokan Malibu family, for your amazing hospitality and care!

What an awesome health and fitness program Wellfit Malibu is!!! I was terrified to come to such an intense program, but by doctors orders I had to make a change I am happy to report that all my fears were laid to rest as soon as I was greeted at the front desk! The education and lectures are very relevant and informative! The fitness classes? Amazing, professional, fun and super effective! The hotel and program culture? Fancy surroundings, yet comfortable and casual The food? Totally gormet, AND specifically designed to help you lose weight and be the best you can be! However, the real shining star of this program is the staff at Wellfit

Each member is superior an accomplished in their field of expertise From your first contact with the Reservation Administrator, front desk personnel and dining room servers all the way to the head Hiking Guide and Program Director, each staff member is a beautiful combination of compassion and inner strength that encourages you do more and be more than you ever thought possible Its a dream team of whole body health and fitness This has been the most amazing experience of my life! I learned so much about health, nutrition and most of all, what I am capable of on every level I highly recommend this healing program to improve your health and well-being physically, mentally and emotionallyLeanne GriffinSalem, Oregon

The room was nice and spacious, We were in a junior suite My view from the 12th floor was beautiful I travel a lot and unfortunately stay at Hotels a lot, this is easily one of my favorite properties The restaurant staff were always amazing as well

Ronald Whedon

The good: The hotel is in very good condition The rooms, except the shower, had no bugs, stains or odors The air conditioning is not a window unit

The beds seem to be an ok fluffy pillow top mattress with a deluxe comforter and goose-down-like pillows I slept well This hotel is in a nice areaThe bad: There is no swimming pool or hot tub If you’ve driven there, valet parking is offered for $19 per day You may park your own vehicle for $1875 per day if valet isn’t for you Hilton tried to charge for valet and self for all days Hilton will charge your card $50 per day at check-in for incidentals deposit my charge was removed after checkout The shower was showing its age with light rust on the lower enclosure, degraded caulking and lightly darkened for traffic area I will stay somewhere else on my next visit

Carolyn Stifflear

THE HAPPY HOTEL ! We were off to Santa Monica again for a weekend getaway My wife found this boutique style hotel online

it ticked the all the important boxes we wantedclose to restaurants we liked, Tesla Destination Charger ( 2 ) in secure underground carpark and super friendly staff There was another unexpected bonus tooI phoned Leo at reception on Thursday and asked if they had a storage room for our expensive electric bikes Yes indeed was his reply ! We hit the road about 11am on Friday for the 113 mile drive which could easily take over 2 hours We did take a small detour to grab some lunch at a cafe on Rose Ave, Venice but couldn’t find a street parking spot close enough to the cafe to watch our eBikes So we decided to head to the hotel and drop off our eBikes so we didn’t have to worry where we parked My wife and I arrived at reception at 1pm Alfred who is one the managers and his lovely co-worker Maryam looked after us in exceptional fashion We truly had a wonderful welcome ! Yes they would put our bikes in a storage room near reception right away Even though check-in was not til 3pm we could also check in straight awayour PREMIUM KING ROOM ( about $400 a night all up ) was ready OKAY ! We decided to cut our losses and take our luggage up to our 4th floor room then walk across the street for a quick bite at Tartine We walked across to Tartine about 140pm and there was a line out the doorcounter servicevery slow and over priced After waiting a few minutes we decided to exit stage left and go grab our wheels We drove 6 minutes to our fav brunch place BLUE DAISY on Broadway and enjoyed a beautiful lunch Getting back to the hotel we plugged in my wife’s Tesla Y at one of the 2 TESLA DESTINATION CHARGERS on the upper level of the 2 level underground carpark ( must have about a 50 car capacity ) After sorting out our luggage in our room we put on our biking gear and went for a bike ride to the Santa Monica Pier at about 4pmonly 2 miles away Angelina and Maryam at reception were very helpful when we asked for dinner ( we wanted pizza ) suggestions for Friday evening but we followed our own hunch in the end Later in the evening we drove to a fabulous pizza / wine bar called SOUTH END in Venice just 20 minutes away Their delicious sourdough pizza, Italian pale ales and amazing hand made tiramisu were just what we wanted Our room was very quiet with the huge flat screen TV running but when we decided to turn in for the nightthe pesty little built-in bar fridge had a rattle all of it’s own We unplugged it so we could sleep Of course I turned it back on in the morning to keep my premium craft beers ice coldand it did ! Other than both sets of our pillows being on the too high too firm side everything else was fine Our bed was very comfortable, the shower worked well straight awayplenty of fresh new white towels I requested softer feather down pillows at reception in the morning and they were in our room when we returned from a lovely breakfast at BLUE DAISY on Broadwaywe rode our eBikes there in only 6 minutes Oh and the new softer pillows were perfect for a great night’s sleep on Saturday after a wonderful birthday celebration dinner at the upscale FIA RESTAURANT on Wilshire Blvdjust 1/2 a mile away Of course we drove over to BLUE DAISY on Broadway for a sumptuous brekkie on Sunday morning The hotel even lays on a HAPPY HOUR in the shut down breakfast dining room adjacent to reception every afternoonyou can get a cappuccino too They even provide a small fleet of bicycles which guests are free to use We totally enjoyed our time here Every staff member we came into contact with during our weekend stay was very friendly and very helpful HIGHLY RECOMMEND !

Was visiting family in the area and this location was perfect for us The room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing The pool and spa were nice as well

We ended up staying an extra night and Alex at the front desk was so great to work with and helped us with the extra night We enjoyed the breakfast every morning as well We would stay here again

Cheryl Mccoy

My son and I stayed here for a mini vacation to Universal Studios – and it was GREAT!! The staff was very friendly and the overall vibe was super cool We enjoyed one day sitting poolside with drinks and invited local friends to dine with us The food was yummy and they had a Gluten Free menu – so I had plenty of GF choices and didn’t have to worry! This is a very cute boutique hotel and I would definitely stay here again!!

Bryan Shaw

My room was paid through the day At 0715 in the morning, I could not gain access to my room I told the front desk, but I was told that I had to make a payment so I could get back in my room to get my things so I could go to work

As a military member, or cards come overdue quickly sometimes I understand that the hotel needs to get paid, but at 0715, and I am forced to make a payment to collect my equipment so I can go to work seems a bit of a stretch I could have easily gone to my base, explained what was going on, then returned prior to the official checkout time to get things straightened out But I was strong-armed to make a payment before that could happen

I’ve recently returned from an awful if not traumatic 4 night stay at Su Casa You would think nice amenities and a good night’s rest would be pretty high on a hotel’s list of priorities; to my chagrin, this was not the case at Su Casa First off, every single night we were woken by the kitchen staff blaring their radio as loudly as humanly possible at around 5 in the morning; which meant every single night, someone had to go downstairs and bang on the kitchen door for a few minutes until we got the staff’s attention to turn down their radio

We complained to the front desk every day about the noise issue but were only given a curt sorry and told that nothing that could be done about the noise This boggles the mind, since we were informed that the hotel and restaurant, both in the same building, were owned by the same owner Surely a quick word/complaint to and from the owner would have taken care of the noise but it’s pretty evident that the owner cares much more about his restaurant than his hotel guests If you somehow managed to sleep through the kitchen staff, you will surely be awoken by the music being blasted out of the restaurant speakers starting at 7am To give the hotel some credit, after our 3rd complaint about the music/noise, the restaurant was kind enough to start their music a little later, at 7:30 on our last day Finally, my last gripe with the hotel is about their furniture Although the room was advertised for 4, there was only a single bed and quite possibly, the most uncomfortable pull out couch I have ever slept on If anyone reading this is a Seinfeld fan, I would highly recommend they visit Su Casa and see the sofa bed Elaine slept on in Jerry’s parents house In all seriousness, the sofa bed was so insufferable we just ended up moving the pad onto the floor to sleep on Though I have never spent a night in a Soviet gulag, I have no doubts that a night there would be comparable to a night’s stay at Su Casa

Aaron Nance

It’s a cute little gem like many of the reviews say Excellent location on the beach, above a nice restaurant, right next to Santa Monica Great for people watching

We got upgraded to oceanside, so the view is very nice, but there’s no balcony Room is very quaint, but adequate for 2 people Bed is remarkably comfortable, but there’s no door separating the bedroom from the living area (only a sheet) I can’t imagine trying to fit more than 2 people comfortably, but it’s a good room for a couple who don’t require privacy

Eric Regensburger

If getting a good nights sleep is important to you then I highly advise you to stay away form this hotelWe spent almost $2,000 to spend 4 nights here and every morning between 5-6 am the cleaning crew for the restaurant downstairs would arrive and start blaring music where you could hear every word Our one bedroom apartment was considered the most expensive in the hotel but it was located right above the restaurant’s kitchen (which is owned by the same owner as the hotel)

So every night we would have to go down and bang on the side door until someone would finally acknowledge us and turn the music down We brought it up with the front desk staff each morning but were met with apologetic but ultimately useless pacification and justifications One staff member told us that this issue had come up before but the owner did not care as his #1 concern was the restaurant, not the hotel and there was nothing they could do about it After three days of talking to everyone we could find they finally offered us a $100 refund out of $2,000 Even if the cleaners do not wake you up the restaurant itself starts bright and early every morning at 7 am with very loud music Ultimately the staff there do not care at all about the hotel guests and the owner does not care enough to do anything about itAlso the apartment was advertised for four people but the pull out couch was pitiful It had the same quality as the futon in your extended family’s basement that you had to sleep on during vacations as a kid It was approximately 2 inches thick and rested upon the most uncomfortable steel frame imaginable We had to take it out of the couch and put it on the floor Also there are a ton of windows in the room with the thinnest white curtains imaginable Basically you need an eye mask and ear plugs in order to get some sleep hereThe dining chairs were also battered and held together with what looked like a foam pad strapped on top of the collapsed bottom This was indicative of the whole apartment as it had a shabby feel of a 10 year old renovation with very little care or maintenance done since thenDo yourself a favor and spend your hard earned money somewhere whey they care about you

My wife and I have done Calamigos twice now (once for New Year’s & once for my birthday) and we absolutely love it The price is up there, but it’s one of the few high end stays that I’ve been to and actually felt like I got what I paid for The service was great both times from the main property staff to the team at their private beach club

The property is fun to explore and we even took part in a complimentary sound bath during one of our stays I love that they have bungalow style lodging with enclosed patios for added privacy It was especially great for a getaway during the thick of COVID It’s a great location with great proximity to other great restaurants and activities I really can’t say enough about this place It was so enjoyable that my wife and I recommended it to my mother for one of her birthday trips with her boyfriend and they loved their weekend getawayAs Arnold Schwarzenegger said, “I’ll be back”Ambiance: 5/5Rooms: 45/5Food: 45/5Drinks: 5/5Price: 4/5Service: 6/5 *They definitely exceeded hereOverall: 48/5

Daniel Brown

The amenities and services were superb here They have four pools, a spa, a gym, tennis courts, multiple bars and restaurants, a cafe, and more It’s a short drive to the beach, yet perfectly secluded within a forested part of Malibu

However, I’m knocking off three stars for the following reasonsWe were never informed of various reservations from private parties and film sets, which interfered with our experience of the entire propertyMy wife and I were unable to hike some of the trails on the property due to film crews having all types of equipment throughout the area Also we were unable to eat and enjoy the beach club due to a private party renting out the venue It seems beautiful, sadly we were unable to experience the atmosphereAbove all, the mattresses in the cottages were incredibly firm Both my wife and I are side sleepers and we didn’t sleep comfortably our entire stay We’re in our thirties and exercise regularly, so It isn’t a matter of us having worn-out bodiesOverall, this is a majestic property to reserve for private events such as a wedding, however the hotel experience was unfortunately lacking I wouldn’t stay overnight again, especially considering their prices

Clanda Sh

Had a great staycation at Calamigos guest ranch, check in time is 3pm and check out at 11am Would recommend to go earlier since there are several fun things to enjoy at the ranchPro tips:1

Private beach club: Make sure to book a complimentary shuttle bus with them, you can easily spend the whole afternoon at the beach club!2 Warm spa pool Don’t miss out3 Breakfast by the pool is a must, they have a cute pink themed pool area So cute!4 There’s a Malibu cafe nearby at the ranch, worth a visit!5 Wine safari tour in Malibu Book a wine safari tour to see Stanley the giraffe!!!Food suggestions:Broad street oysters -They have one of the best lobster rolls in LA, make sure to add on uni and caviar!!!We really enjoy every single visit at this magical place Enjoy 🙂

Pros are that the rooms were freshly redone My wife and I worked here for a couple weeks and while the rooms were small, they were as described on the website Free Internet was generally fine for zoom meetings

I would have liked ovens in the room, more outlets by the desk and in the bedroom The staff and housekeeping were very helpful Breakfast daily was minimal Pool/hot tub are small but worked Gym had a couple treadmills, some free weights and benches The outdoor furniture was missing some cushions and the lounge chairs by the pool were cheap (several were broken) Location was near shopping and highway My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for those looking for a long stay and no frills

Zan Bernhardt

No indication when I made the reservation that the hotel was undergoing remodeling The room was NOT ready for occupancy 3/4 of outlets weren’t live

The TV remote wasn’t for our TV and we couldn’t shut it off at night, so we had to cover it with a towel to avoid the glare If we unplugged it, then we needed another remote the next day The shampoo/conditioner mounted in the shower didn’t work A/C was so loud that no one could have slept through the noise Stayed 3 nightsno housekeeping inquiry whether we needed new towels, nothing They never came in Front desk people were attentive when we called to say there was no hairdryer in the room as well as having to have all the feather pillows changed out due to allergyThe location is wonderful and the room was clean

B Nicole

The stay was enjoyable They had everything we needed for a family of 5, super excited about that Choices were limited for our budget, traveling with kids, needing a fridge and microwave and separate bedroom with two beds and a playpen

So we were accommodated very well Staff were friendly and some made us feel welcomed There was one guy in particular whose name I didn’t catch but he made sure we were taken care of The only complaints I have are that the beds were super uncomfortable I woke up with neck and back pain every night, and the view wasn’t so great where we were placed Also there wasn’t a real breakfast For $800+ I expected at least a cooked breakfast not microwavebles However the jimmy dean sandwiches were tasty

Me, my dog, and my sister had a great time here At check-in, they asked if my dog could have treats The valet was completely worth the fee – all we had to do was text a phone number and our car was ready

Our king suite room was clean and updated The area surrounding the hotel was safe to walk the dog and to walk around at night Sightseeing and food adventures were a short drive or short walk away The front desk, and management were all friendly, pleasant, and helpful Will stay here anytime I’m passing through LA, and recommend it to friends and family, too!

Natalie Li

First off, I would like to say I’ve had my fair share of staying at luxury hotels and this place was quite the opposite The location is good in regards to taking route 10 and the shopping area, however, for the price you’re paying, best to spend it elsewhere Initially the first room we stayed in, the sink pipe was leaking water, the bedside lamp wasn’t working, and neither were the phones when we tried to call them about this

I had to go downstairs and the staff were very pleasant and gave us a free upgrade The room was indeed much bigger and it had two separate bedrooms, but overall, this hotel is outdated The sofa was cracking and housekeeping couldn’t even bother to find the right sheets for one of the beds They also didn’t give us additional toiletries when they refreshed the room, which is interesting considering you are paying the room per night The heating system doesn’t seem to work either and when it gets cold at night, you’ll be wishing you stayed elsewhere This is my first time staying at a Marriott chain hotel and it’ll truly be my last From now on, I would stay at my usual Hyatt or intercontinental I would like to say more, but this hotel truly drains you of your energy and your wallet

Dmss

David in valet is awesome and very personableThe sandy blond lady working at the hideout on 3/13/22 at 4:45 was rude and extremely eager to stop my wife from sitting down in the restaurant because she said they were getting ready to close That lady’s obnoxious attitude was upsetting

We said that we would leave the restaurant then At that point she must have realized how she must have sounded and that she had upset us and then she wanted to show us the way out after ignoring us briefly She was the opposite of our experience with the rest of all the hotel staff we came in contact with We didn’t care that they were closing, JUST BE NICE AND FRIENDLY LIKE ALL YOUR COWORKERS ARE!Lyn at the front counter was very nice and welcoming The room was clean and the bed was perfect The STK restaurant was very good and a great selection of entrees Full bar and good wine list alsoThe Hot coffee at the front reception area in the morning was really good

Convenient and clean Didn’t feel particularly pampered – no room service, no mini bar – no way to reheat leftovers (microwave) $6 for a cup of coffee is ridiculous when you’re spending $1K for the week! Must pay to park, but thankfully we had handicapped accessible tags

Pool was great and intimately positioned in a courtyard off the main entrance Breakfast was buffet and for $20 had very little in the way of food selection Overall, a solid hotel – just need to provide guests with a little more TLC

Used Diamond points to pay for this trip so I can’t make comments on affordability of this place However, this hotel was amazing and efficient and made us feel very welcomed My partner and I stayed so we each got $18 food credit a day to use at the bar, restaurant, or cafe

Very close to restaurants across the street, within walking distance Room was clean, cute, and very comfortable Pool was quaint, but warm and clean as well Very happy with our stay!

So this place is really nice it’s a little Oasis in the midst of crazy Marina del Rey We ordered a bit of food by the pool and it was very good The problem is that it seems like the staff that was working they were so few and they were doing so many jobs that you know the bathroom is a mess and you had to go up to the bar to order food

So if you don’t mind a little bit of extra leg work it’s a great place I did not see the rooms but the gnocchi was amazing! I feel like if it would staph properly it would be incredible!

The room itself was nice, the location is convenient, and the hotel is beautiful, if I were just rating that I would give it four stars But everything else was a bit of a mess To start, the halls and rooms smelled of sewage for three of our four days, no hotel staff explained this nor offered us any recompense for this massive discomfort

I came for a wedding and my brother reserved a block of rooms in advance Several weeks before arrival I called to put my card on my room so that he wouldn’t be charged for it Now both myself and my sister were staying in the room, and she arrived about an hour before I did Apparently they have a policy (I’ve never experienced this anywhere else) where they have to swipe a card prior to check-in, so my sister had to swipe hers and assume the responsibility of paying for our entire stay before we’d actually done so Now I called here on the morning of our last day to ensure that the card that would actually bear the responsibility would be my own, but they’d deleted my card from their system when my sister swiped on checkin Just outright deleted it And now it will take up to a week for the money to be returned to my sister’s account even though this was their absolute boneheaded mistake NOT TO MENTION THEY JUST ASSUMED WE HAD A CAR AND CHARGED US AN EXTRA $100 FOR PARKING None of this was communicated and had to be resolved on-site Absolutely ridiculously piss poor customer service, they’re lazy and apathetic LA residents

Very clean rooms Check in tho me and my family had to wait for nearly 4 hours before getting into our rooms Made reservations 3 weeks before and we were not the only ones who waited as well

To make it a bit more awful they put us in a room next to the exit door and spent our days hearing slamming of doors from other guest leaving and coming in Shook the walls and so loud Woke me up a few times in the night But room were comfortable Great food also Beautiful location and view

This was an incredible stay all the way around and we will be back! We simply wanted a place to stay for the night after my wife’s surgery at a nearby hospital so we didn’t have to drive the 2 hours home We got that plus a little getaway at an amazing hotel! We were welcomed from the minute we drove up by the valet and bell staff The front desk staff was also very welcoming and explained the features of the property, including the restaurant

Our room (119) was on the first floor facing the marina It had a large patio/balcony area with a beautiful view of the beach, water, boats and hotel grounds The patio furniture was even clean, which isn’t always the case at hotels When we return, I hope we can get the same room as the view seemed perfectThe room itself was very clean and everything was in working order There were plenty of outlets, a Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator, large TV, good sized desk, comfortable chair, and plenty of lights The bed was very comfortable Yes, it has a wall air conditioner But we actually appreciated the white noise effect from setting the fan to run all nightThe restaurant was outstanding! They don’t have room service at this time, but they gladly took our order my phone and called us back in about 20 minutes when it was ready to pick up The butternut squash ravioli was delicious and the macadamia nut chocolate chip cookies are our new favorite (Sorry, DoubleTree) Breakfast on the outdoor patio right on the beach was also wonderful A creative menu perfectly executedWe’re completed baffled by all the negative reviews Don’t hesitate to stay here Just make sure you get a room with a marina view Or at least leave your room and go hang out in the chairs on the lawn on the marina side We will be back!

Came up to attend a wedding down the road in Malibu Good clean hotel, seemed full and busy Good location near the 101 Fwy and next door to a Trader Joe’s Market

Checking was easy and was great by a energetic employee who made sure everything was taken care of The room was clean and kept up nicely Had no issues with the room or amenities The hot breakfast buffets typical 2 kinds of ready made omelets, good size sausages, home fry potatoes, cereals, oat meal, fresh fruit, breads, yogurt, coffee and juices I would stay here again

Stayed for a wedding in Malibu Amazing front desk staff! Beautiful grounds, outdoor patio, and small pool area Buildings were fairly easy to navigate, but main interior areas could use a deep cleaning, as could the rooms

Our room (Building #2) was in desperate need of updating and a deep cleaning, but rooms for others in our party (Building #1) were more updated The linens could also use some updating they were quite rough Our stay was extremely quiet, which I enjoyed The location is great and the parking was good I feel like the price of our room should have been $50-75 cheaper for it to feel like good value Okay place to stay if you need access to Malibu

We were very happy with this hotel It was very clean and the room spaces were great The check in process and staff were friendly and helpful

We appreciated the free breakfast, though I think it will be better once the buffet reopens post-COVID We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub, which were very comfortable and clean The room was also very quiet, especially considering we were right over the freeway

Really enjoyed this place Stayed 5 nights to tour colleges in the area and really have no complaints We stayed in room 383 and despite the hotel seeming to be bustling with people and the pool being occupied, our room was fairly quite

Due to our schedule, I do wish we could have spent time at the pool or an evening drinking near the pool patio They could do better with their weekday breakfast offerings, nevertheless the weekend chocolate waffles were a hit with the kids

Not what we thought!!!I’m a nurse traveling for work and we loved this place when we were here initially We checked out for the weekend and came back the next week only to have our price for two days go up significantly When we questioned this, the person who said he was manager rolled his eyes, kept sighing at our questions and said that hotel rates change by the hour and even though it was on booking

com for one price when we looked, doesn’t mean it is the same when we got here to check in Most hotels would’ve honored the rate shown online, but at least he could’ve been somewhat polite about it I asked about the discount for being a nurse and he said they only do that during nurses week All we wanted was an explanation for the charges, and he acted so put out by having to explain to us why the amount WE PAID increased so much We planned on staying here for another week, but due to the rudeness of the manager, we will stay at one of the many really nice and FRIENDLY ones in the area

My husband & I recently stayed at the Plaza La Reina for 4 nights & found this Spanish styled, boutique hotel very beautifully furnished & very inviting I’m an residential interior designer, so I appreciate a room that is NOT your typical hotel basic Our room was quiet, comfortable & well equipped

Beds & bedding were quality & comfortable We always stay in places that offer a kitchenette for the convenience it offers It just makes it feel more homey & comfortable for us Having a washer/dryer in our suite was a definite bonus as wellI will add that we were disappointed in the fact that they do not offer TV’s with Netflicks for watching movies This is the first hotel we have stayed at that did not, which in this day & age is disappointing & unusual A basic convenience for guests I would sayWe were asked daily from the concierge if we wanted our room freshened upWe only requested it twice during our stay since we did not need more towels or bed linens changed This is an environmental choice we are thoughtful aboutOverall we found the service very good, the staff were helpful, personable & professional from the day we called in to book, to the day of check out! This hotel offers a lovely rooftop terrace, which we knew about when we booked, but we made a stupid mistake & forgot about this amenity & missed out! It’s unfortunate since we came from a record breaking wet & cold Spring in Vancouver, Canada We were wanting the warmth of the sun to warm our bones & souls The weather was great when we visited Santa Monica, so we certainly feel dumb for not taking advantage of enjoying this lovely feature the Plaza offersSecured parking was convenient & plentiful, but we found it expensiveThe hotel location is convenient right between the beaches & Hollywood Hills Lots of restaurants & shopping available close byWe enjoyed out stay & made great memories at the Plaza La Reina We recommend this unique & memorable hotel for all others that want a more intimate, heart warming experience while in Santa Monica or LA

When we found the hotel on bookingcom, we’ve thought would be a great one But honestly our stay turned into a nightmare

The manager Margaret is extremely rude, not only with us, but with everyone, she should be doing anything but not hospitality, clearly she is deeply unhappy with her job and when we complained about the service she said few times that she doesn’t own the hotel and couldn’t do anything and that I was welcome to leave the hotelThey don’t clean the rooms unless you book in advance, don’t replace towels and toolsWe’ve traveled so much and I have never had such a bad service with such a frustrated managerWe are tax exempt and she at first said they don’t do tax exemption At The hotel Although is the law and the cards are issued by the state department, then to justify her laziness she said I need to carry with me a type of form; knowing it was a lie and she was just bored I contested her and she lost it becoming defensive and super rude, yelling at meIn the whole US I have never had a problem with my tax exempt cards, I was surprised when I visited Los Angeles, I was given this type of treatment In my opinion, for a manager this lack of knowledge it is unacceptable, I have checked out of the hotel and until now haven’t got the refund of my tax, She was constantly trying to impose her superiority, which clearly just exist in her mind Obviously The way she treats the guests and staff are just a reflection of how she feels about herself and her life, unhappy and miserable Instead of working on herself, she puts her frustration on the hotel guests and hotel staff

Totally enjoyed my stay at this Spanish Med hotel with big heavy doors and nice attention to detail Has a bit of character versus most of those chain places Fountain in a tiled courtyard

Clean and well kept UpdatedNo it’s not the Four Seasons but nice well above a mediocre BestGardenTree type Service was great over the phone and in person Not heavily staffed but all super helpfulUpdated marble bathroom with Etro supplies, sweet (no minibar but a keurig) kitchenette and a very comfortable bed in an alcove with blackout drapes I slept great!Perfect location in Westwood near cafes and shops and UCLA Parking in an accessible garage was 40 bucks (not bad)I will be back

I just called the hotel on a business call, hoping to get transferred to one of the managersOf course in order to do this, I had to speak to the front desk I’ve been making a lot of calls to hotels today for work

Not all the front desk agents or managers have been greatHowever, the gentleman at this front desk was incredibly professional, courteous, and helpfulWhen speaking with the AGM, she was genuine and warm Next time I’m in town, I’ll have to book a room! The staff here seems awesome!

Emily Cobb

Really loud, it’s right on a busy road so that noise is expected But the walls are paper thin you can hear footsteps in the room above, walking in the hallways, doors shutting Not a great night sleep

Beds are very soft, which could be hard for some They are also very squeaky The rooms are large and the bathrooms are smallThe front desk however was very friendly and accommodating, staff gets 5 stars Hotel needs a lot of work

Brian Sinclair

There is nothing wrong with the hotel, but it ain’t great either It’s sort of isolated There are no restaurants in the area or place to have a drink, unless you go to the place inside (which closes early)

There is a supermarket across the street that has chips and liquor) The rooms are cramped, but we’re clean The people at the front desk were helpful and although the food options are limited, the people that were there are friendly They serve Starbucks coffee, lattes and some of the basic food options
