The room was no worth the price paid per night The bathroom was not properly cleaned and sanitized The bathtub was dirty, the wash cloths left in the room had human hair stuck in them and could not be used

The bed sheets had cigarette burns on them The protector sheets underneath were stained as if they are never cleaned… with BLEACH We killed not one, not two but THREE German cockroaches in our room before our stay ended We couldn’t even keep our personal items in the room afraid that our belongings would become infested We will not be back The pictures on the website DO NOT represent what the room looks like cleanliness wise We chose this room because it was the cheapest in the area but should have paid the extra money to stay somewhere else Unless you care to stay in filth, do not stay here!!!

Bobby Long

I wish I had read other reviews where the guests found dirty sheets when they pulled back the covers before I booked this room! I hope you, traveler, read mine I also hope you take note of the manager’s disingenuous response If he cared he would have done something to make it right

He did nothingReview: My experience was shocking I pulled back the comforter and sheet and saw dirt on the bed between the top sheet and the fitted sheet Upon further inspection there was dirt, HAIR and stains Housekeeping obviously doesn’t change the sheets between every guestThen to add insult to injury the manager offered not to refund me for the stay but to discount my next stay at his hotel by 20%

We had excellent service from check-in to check-out Clean, comfortable suites that were as pictured and described online We stayed in the King Studio Suite the first night and the 2 Queen Beds One Bedroom Suite the second night

We only switched to have a little more space to spread out, and for the separate rooms setup The front desk was extremely helpful and accommodating of our request Both suites were very comfortable and covered all of the bases that we needed We will definitely be returning in the future

Homewood Suites Hilton Garden is a very nice place and new property It is super quiet and plenty of parking in the front and back The pool is a knock out as it’s gorgeous

I was able to pick my floor and was satisfied The people there are extraordinary and helpful The property is Covid 19 friendly There is fresh breakfast and happy hour in the afternoon

Eliza Reptilekeeper

Family and pet friendly hotel, friendly receptionists, actually everybody is very friendly and helpful The rooms are clean ( upon arrival I did wipe down everything with disinfecting wipes and sprayed some Lysol on the pillows and sheets, just in case), the refrigerator and freezer are clean, as is the rest of the kitchen The bathroom is very pretty, it has a big shower with a glass door, the bathroom vanity and the rest of the furniture, such as bed, night stands, desk area and foldout sofa are modern and will find approval of many guests

And the mattress, OMG, it’s so comfortable! There is a breakfast room, (not just a buffet style table in a corner of the lobby,) with a good continental breakfast The bar is inviting to relax with a cold drink after a busy day, or one can cool off in the outside pool or work out in the gym There is also a BBQ area with several grills and comfy chairs close to the poolI would stay in this hotel again

It was fairly cheap for the area However the shower was awful felt like a pressure washer The shower curtain wouldn’t stay closed and soaked the floor

The beds were so soThe hotel does NOT have an elevator If you have luggage beware The free breakfast was really weak A few juices and muffins Not much more than continental style

S. Hart

Needed a hotel for a family emergency and stayed at this hotel Was able to receive the room at a really good rate, so that made my stay okay If I had to pay full price for this room I would have been terribly disappointed

There were a number of maintenance issues, things not working, holes in the wall and dirty carpet This could really be a nice hotel, but it’s at a crucial stage and can go either way If the repairs are made money invested it could be really nice, if not in a few years, this will be a run down MotelBottom line if you just need a hotel, the price is super super low and within your budget stay here If not, and you can afford to pay more find another hotel The saying is true for this one you get what you pay for

Today, a few minutes ago, me and my dad went up to the front desk and the check-in lady, Nancy, was there A housekeeper told us to go to the front desk So, we went there, and my dad told her that he wanted the room clean

Nancy was saying that our room wasn’t gonna get cleaned today Then my father said he wanted his room clean Also, he did let him know 4 hours prior he was gonna be out Nancy then asked if my dad would like to speak to the manager on the phone My dad said yes he’d like to Nancy wouldn’t let him get a practical statement out and she had an attitude and a smart mouth She wasn’t nice at all, and she’s done that to other people also My dad’s seen it himself We were in room 103 Housekeeper said that a guy would be coming at 3pm to help since they said they were short-handed Last thing, we’ve been staying in the hotel for around a week or 2, for our house to be ready We’ve never asked for them to clean our room every single day It’s been 3-5 days last time we asked Housekeeper said before we went to our house that the room was gonna be cleaned

I came down to visit a family friend that I only get to see a couple of times a year Upon arrival the lady at the front desk was super friendly The rooms were clean

I normally don’t wash clothing at hotels but I wore a very expensive sold out track suit (300$), and spilled a spot of drink on it on the way down, and decided it needed to be washed The wash cycle is 27 minutes I took a bath, got dressed and went to the laundry room to put my clothes in the dryer wnd they were gone After realizing my stuff was gone I contacted a hotel employee at the front desk to have camera footage pulled only to find out this hotel has no cameras I was told to wait till the morning to speak with the manager I went down this morning only to be told that I left my clothing unattended and it was basically my fault because I left my clothes “unattended” The fact that the manager was so nonchalant about this establishment not having Cameras is crazy to me Please be advised, people disappear from areas like this all of the time Next time it might not be clothing, but someone’s daughter or son that disappears Very disappointed in my stay here, especially considering I was basically at fault Also there are no safes in the rooms either so if someone steals your valuables out of your room I guess that’ll be your fault too

We had 2 rooms The hotel passed the lobby was dirty, run down , and needs updated bad! Furniture was falling apart and missed matched Pool was dirty

The ice machine had moldy water Roaches was found in my sisters room Customer service was poor Several messages left for the area manager no return calls until my sister wrote a review on line then she got a call from her

Sydney Dilcher

Peach, I think the front desk ladies name was WAS A PEACH

I went in here around 1 am petrified of my air bnb stay due to cleanliness issues looking for a place to stay They had no vacancy and had computers down and couldn’t look into next day stays at the time This lady calls around to every nearby hotel looking to get me the cheapest deal even just for the night so we can find a place to stay as we’re here for a week The fact that she even picked up her phone to call all the managers she’s friends with to help me just made everything better I’ve never had such good customer service, especially at a hotel chain Thanks again!

The rooms were very clean the staff was very friendly especially the lady in the breakfast area I can’t say that I would stay again though because my partner and I both had a horrible night sleep I had thought about trying the pull out cough but there was no extra bedding in the room for it; and when are pull out beds ever comfy? My second complaint is that they put the ice bucket and cups in the bathroom

If I do have to stay here again I will request to see the room first before excepting it

Clara Gordon

I hadn’t been back to Charleston since 2016, which was a few years after I moved away First off, I have to say that Janet Webb’s genuine kindness is what I miss most from living in the south You can tell it’s more than a job for her and she honestly cares about the guests

Secondly, I’m a stickler for details and have a tendency to go over rooms with a fine tooth comb before I even get settled The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable I wouldn’t change a thing and definitely plan on staying there again the next time I visit

You pay for location The hotel looks like is going through some updates and lobby and amenities are fine but not sure if rooms are part of it The double beds were very uncomfortable and springy

There was an issue with the A/C where the condensation spread under the floor (see photo) and with every step the water will come up We reported it to the blond lady at the front desk and ask for towels to cover it, she acknowledged the issue but never got the towels It was a short trip and we were not interested in changing rooms after we unpacked everything, but service should’ve been better Also, the hallways smelled like mold and felt humid The only highlight of the hotel was the very clean pool and the breakfast which was served by a super helpful and sweet lady Back to location: it is very good and safe, with lots of restaurants and shops around

Anna Haggin

Be Kind! They are undergoing renovations The rooms were not the best while they are going through the renovation process The rooms were ok

The bathroom was my biggest area of concern The toilet had a leak onto the floor Behind the toilet the wall was separating from the tile and you could see just yuck When you first come in it is nicely done The staff is welcoming The location is super conveniently located to a lot of restaurants and major storesAbsolutely loved the breakfast Was so much more than I was expecting Delicious & hot n readyLike I said be kind They do make up for where they are lacking

Robert Rothman

This hotel was a mix The area wasn’t great, but the lobby and bar/breakfast area has been renovated very nicely, and the breakfast was freshly cooked and served to you cafeteria style The problem was the rest of the hotel

Once you got past the lobby, the hotel was old and a bit shabby The elevator and the rooms felt old and dated There were some new finishes in the rooms, but the plumbing fixtures were old and rusty The AC was loud and it wouldn’t turn off unless you unplugged it Some of the guests were really noisy and the walls were thin so noise was an issue Can’t recommend unless a good breakfast is really important to you

Great place to stay In the cut and out the way yet within walking distance of places to eat and grab snacks and needed items if you have no car We stayed here for a week waiting for my vehicle to arrive at the VPC and I really enjoyed our stay

The place was clean The hotel staff spoke to you when you entered and even sometimes when you left Love the environment, wasnt noisy The breakfast was decent and they even offered us some fresh baked cookies one day They have a microwave which I love, they have a mini fridge as well It was really small We did have an ant problem after 2 days of having left snacks out, which I never experienced in a hotel but that was about it On our last day we did have somebody knock on our door, asking about housekeeping but we had our no housekeeping thing up so not sure why they knocked early in the morning like that But overall good stay, would recommend and stay again

My first night there guy that works the night shift insulted me said I look like a hobo being outside smoking a cigarette and twenty questions about whether I was staying there or not after already telling him I was and he saw me walk out of the hotel Didn’t know you need a suit and tie to go smoke a cigarette at night very ignorant on his behalf the rest of the staff was pleasant

Holly Saladino (Pikachu)

Other than the fact that our air conditioner unit was literally dripping on the carpet and had the entire floor soaking wet, our stay was fine Nothing eventful The pool was a great addition, however it seemed the pool isnt cleaned often or the pump isn’t as strong as it probably needs to be

There was a lot of stuff floating on top of the water when we went swimming Parking was great though, loved the back door access Made getting to the car really easy!

First of all, this hotel exceeded my expectations I was greeted very warmly upon check in I didn’t get a chance to get the name of the sweet lady @ the front desk

She set the tone of this hotelThe room itself (Room 111) was appointed and roomy The refrigerator kept the canned sodas nice and cold Never turned the TV on, it was a nice size TV, thoughThe shower felt so refreshing! Nice water pressure and H O T!The pool was perfect! It was so hot outside yesterday (6/25/22) the water wasn’t cold It felt like Heaven Nobody was in the pool when my friend & I went swimmingBreakfast was unique The lady serving the biscuits and croissants was very hospitable She had a nice smile on her faceOnto the rate and cash deposit, the rate, in my opinion, wasn’t that bad This IS a real nice hotel I really couldn’t see any need for improvements I don’t spend my time looking @ the ceiling for cobwebs 🤣The cash deposit of $150 is understandable If someone is local, meaning residing within 50 miles, the cash deposit is required I see why the hotel would do that, due to *some* people trashing places that’s not theirs…I received my $150 once visual of the room upon checkout was successfulI will be staying here again

MsAudra11

We were told they were doing improvements soon so I’m sure things will be changing (They mentioned replacing carpets and the mattresses) Their front door alone didn’t like to open for guest We would have to walk back and forth and the key door to our room would take forever to register our key and open 😅 and the mattress was super hard and noisy

(Again they mention stuff was going to be replaced soon) In all honesty besides that I loved it It was clean Taken care of The workers behind the front desk were super helpful and sweet In a really peaceful, pretty area I would still recommend this place 🙂 I’m sure it will be amazing once better mattresses are put in and whatever other work they plan on doing

Stephan Naude

For the benefit of fellow travellers, please take note of this honest review Hotel is more suited for construction workers Staff were friendly, except one lady who tried to control the breakfast counter

Bad attitude! No hot breakfast A sandwich and cinnamon roll Very disappointing Room smelled Not clean at all Housekeeping made their very loud presence known, early! Way overpriced! Best to drive and stay elsewhere

I stayed 3 nights with a wedding party The hotel grounds and rooms are very clean Nice modern decor & TV

Comfortable bed, I was lucky and had a microwave in my room A few wedding guests didn’t have microwaves, but there is one accessible 24 hours in the lobby My one suggestion would be to ensure microwaves are in every room, especially with the bar not open until 5 pm Staff is friendly Hotel is close to stores/restaurants, I would absolutely stay here again

JD Brown

Great hotel Nice to have a restaurant/bar so you don’t have to leave for dinner Rooms were nice and very clean

The only issue that I had was with breakfast I was not told when I checked in that you have to order breakfast the night before and was a little upset walking down for breakfast only to find out I was not able to get breakfast

bigtata84

Excellent experience overall Special mention to Heather at the front desk as she was very friendly and accommodating along with having an excellent attitude and brilliant smile The room was very welcoming and clean

The bathroom had an interesting perk as the mirror had a Bluetooth speaker built in it! The layout of the room is very functional and a good value for the stay Definitely recommend for business trips

Hotel is very dated and In need of major renovations Don’t be fooled by the name brand or the lobby appearance Lobby is nice

Room… different story Listen to the reviews cause I sure wish I did Also the room you book is hardly ever the room you actually get You may book a king room and end up in A handicapped accessible room because that’s all they had left Let’s not get into the plastic block they have at the head of the bed Oh and no breakfast Only breakfast that’s available is for pay at A Starbucks cafe Dump… HARD PASS… hey Marriott ITS TIME TO RENOVATE AND STOP CHARGING $200 AND UP PER NIGHT FOR BASICALLY A MOTEL…

Jennifer Cate

Only a minute from I-26 but doesn’t feel like you’re so close to an interstate Within walking distance to a newer, very nice shopping center/courtyard with coffee shop, restaurants, some shopping and much more Hotel and room were clean and comfortable

Has a Starbucks bistro bar for morning and a quaint bar at night Has several outdoor areas, gym was clean and staff were nice I will definitely stay here again

Kavin Davis

Horrible staff, not friendly at all Will say anything to get you out of their face and Eric I think who is the District Manager or whatever is his title was no help at all The cleaning staff needs to be trained or at least monitor

Many times they would make my bed and use the same dirty sheets that I laid in prior to that I have stayed with this brand for now in this area for more than a month I will not be using this brand again Also the showers in the place is crazy So it’s an opening with no shower curtain Not sure why they went this way on the rooms, if it was saving money on shower curtains or what but it will be a cold shower every time you step in with no curtain Bad idea and bad concept for the customer that like warm showers

Horrible hotel, I stayed there for over 4 weeks and had nothing but trouble How about I told there staff several times about the back door not working and as a paying customer I couldn’t come through the back door to my room which was close to that door almost for a week I was told someone would fix it and they never did

Probably still messed up to this day Then there cleaning service is a joke They made my bed with the sheets that I already slept on I mean when I asked for my room to get clean I am looking for clean sheet My whole stay no one never changed out the moldy shower curtain, I guess as a guess I am not entitled to a new curtain for sanitation reason The only friendly staff they had there was the kitchen staff They made great meals and were well liked because they went out there way to have a conversation It seems like everyone at the front desk was just to good for the customers to even talk

Michelle Appleyard

I received an email today stating that The Residence Inn was unable to accommodate my 2 Queen bed stay but had instead moved my family of 4 to another hotel at a cheaper rate Come to find out that the room they were able to secure us was a King bed instead of the 2 Queen beds that I needed to accommodate 4 people Posting simply to say – beware of any upcoming stays at The Residence Inn Summerville as they may get “cancelled” due to “maintenance issues” and you’ll be left to find another hotel on your own as they will absolutely not take accountability for the “maintenance issues” and comp any sort of discounted rates

I would beware especially if you booked as part of any upcoming convention rates as it seems those rooms were the first to be moved due to the “maintenance issue” according to their front desk staff I was able to secure a much nicer hotel at a cheaper rate in the same area

Barbara Binks

Wonderful customer service, breakfast is delicious with a wide variety to choose fromLarge comfortable roomsNEXTON has at least 10 very good restaurants right out the door

I called multiple times to request pricing and availability for my wedding Long story short, the older gentleman said he did not know when and how much pricing for weddings would be and to call back later next month (our conversation was on 7/25)I asked him if he would take my contact information and he said that he “had enough responsibilities already”

Extremely rude and unprofessional

We stayed here over the Christmas Holidays in 2006 Very much enjoyed our stay I know our neighbors did not as we had our toddler daughter and dog with us

The staff were very accommodating however, and served us all our meals in our room We were there to see the sites down in Charleston so we were generally only there in the mornings and evening Beautiful place

My heart was dead set on this place for my wedding venue before even seeing it in person I called 6+ times and made myself patient enough to wait for the event coordinator to speak to me on multiple occasionsNever got her

Only got an older gentlemen who just 5mins a go hung up on me because I asked to come one hour earlier to see the venue Because they only show at 12 Which i live an hour away and an hour earlier would’ve still cut into half of my work dayThis man was rude, not interested, stressed out, and would not work with me or pay me any mind From then on I decided this wasn’t the place for meIf you can’t even set up a time after six phone calls, why would you work with these people for your wedding? It really saddens me because this place would’ve meant the world to me on my special day Yet he wanted to hang up on me and act like I was an inconvenienceAppreciate it

First off, this was the only motel that accepts pets (additional fee) we called a lot in the area! The staff there is amazing and that’s what really shines in this place cause its rough, ain’t gonna lie! The first room it stunk SO bad of urine and smoke, safe broken, phone broken and front door wouldn’t close The maintenance guy was trying frantically to make everything right but he ended up calling the manager who then provided another room Much better! The room was clean and smelled good

The other pros were: mini fridge (big and lay out inside was great!), shower was hot and plenty of water pressure, no carpet and the breakfast was good and MsPenelope was so sweet! The cons: the bed is horrible It’s sunk down in the middle Hurt my back so bad :(An inch gap under the door, bathroom is super tiny and constant smell outside of weed Parking was a little crowdedOverall, good just needs some updating and improvements

I’m sorry to have to say this but we checked in, looked at the room and decided we couldn’t stay there in spite of losing the cost of two nights that we pre-paid The room was very dark and was questionably clean and the furniture was very very old and really wornAdditionally, and I know this is not the fault of the hotel, when we arrived there were four police cars right next to the hotel apparently detaining somebody

Again, not the fault of the hotel but it didn’t do much to inspire our confidence in the areaI will close by saying that the young lady at the front desk was very pleasant and understanding about our decision to not stay there

Front desk staff was super nice, but the hotel is a dump Dirty, drug use in the rooms, and in a bad area, people sleeping in cars in the parking lot

Train tracks next to it and busy road Saw an employee using a carpet scrubber to clean a mattress on the ground in the parking lot I hope the staff can get jobs at nicer hotels They went above and beyond help with check in problems

First let me say that my husband and I stay almost exclusively with this chain of hotels and find that quality is mostly very good, some being better than others That said, I would like to thank personally the excellent customer service and assistance from Christina Rava, front desk manager She assisted us greatly in navigating the local community, general knowledge of areas we needed to be, and making reservations for all the rest of our journey for us when i met with a computer snafu

On top of that, I accidentally picked up the case containing the room iron, thinking it was my husbands shaving kit, and taking it with us She was very understanding of the accidental theft and patient with us while we completed our journey so I could mail it back to her when possible I have another trip there in the works to care for a sick family member and I know I have a beautiful, comfortable, well located room to retreat to at the end of each day Many thanks Christina
