Convenient location to places we visited over the course of 4 daysBreakfast was less than ideal, but we managed and used it to hold everyone over until brunch The website stated that we would have 2 queen beds, but one of them was a full size bed

When we needed extra items, they were extremely helpful with bringing the items up to our room

Kristi Ferguson

I am not impressed with the staff at all Especially the cleaning staff It’s also entirely too hot throughout the hotel

The faucet in my room broke right away I asked for a clean bed blanket and was told they only had exact amount for each room, so I drove from Roseville to my storage in East Bethel for a blanketI have counted 2 to 3 days where the garbage sits in the hallwaysI’ve also had to call downstairs and was very upset because Housekeeping tried to enter my room without my permission, request or call They never knocked, or announced anythingIt’s bad enough for myself and my family that we have to be here long-term, and now it’s just very depressing

Tom Lennon (HVS Leak Detection)

Front door locked Nobody answered front desk phone to check in Came back an hour later to check in Breakfast was very poor

Out of eggs no meat was served scooped up last bowl of oatmeal Person serving breakfast working at an infuriating slow pace Does not affect me but heard others complain of no coffee Many other hotels in the area Choose another I will

I spent about a month in the hotel on business The staff and housekeeping services are pretty solid I was able to get my room reliably cleaned every week and get a paper from downstairs on the local news

Coffee is available 24 hours, its pretty decent The room had awesome heating, plenty of space and a comfortable bed The gym has a few treadmills, a bike and elliptical and a dumbbell set, yoga mats – all you need to get a good work out inThe hotel does an evening social once a week where they’ve got free beer and snacks which is cool and encouraging I haven’t come across many places that do this but its a great way to network and interact with people especially in times of COVIDThe biggest complaints would be the inconsistently of the room keys, if you can get the app – use it because you’ll find yourself losing the ability to go into the gym, laundry room, pool or even your own room at the drop of a dime The breakfast is edible as long as you stay away from the powdered eggs

Tom Johns

Solid choice for north suburban stays They do one weird thing though , I’ve observed it during every stay in 2022, which is that between 0715 and 1000 each day but especially on weekends, they’ll entirely clean the lobby bathrooms, tiles in front of bathrooms, and even tile floors of first floor exit areas with really slick floor detergent But this is exactly the time of highest foot traffic in all these areas

I’ve witnessed grandmas nearly spill their breakfast coffee trying to maneuver into and out of those bathrooms because it’s like ice I thought it was because staff to do this only worked mornings, but that turns out not to be the case, the same individual creating local slip & slides is still working at 1530 Clean up of these areas should really occur only after 10:30 or so, it isn’t safe unless you’re barefoot and even then I doubt it

Jerry Inderlee

My girlfriend and I spent almost 6 months here and really miss the wonderful staff, the beautiful room, and the way they made us feel right at homeThe front desk, maintenance, kitchen, and environmental services were 10 out of 10!My girlfriend wants to move back lol!Thank you for everything you did for us!

Stayed at this hotel with my entire extended family for a funeral Staff was extremely friendly and courteous and the General Manager Lynne was a great help in helping make arrangements for dinner at the adjoining Machine Shed (which was delicious)The hotel is very clean, and the lobby is beautiful

Very comfortable beds and large bathrooms is a plus The pool area is incredibly spacious and the kids loved itWill definitely be staying here again

Lydia Keskitalo

Clean rooms and great staff, but the floor plan is very odd Many of the rooms look into the pool which itself isn’t bad, but the windows are very thin and the pool doesn’t close until 11:00pm This can be a problem if you are here for business or if you like to get to bed early

However, good prices, clean rooms, and helpful staff makes this hotel a good place to stay in St Paul

Lisa M

Black hole of a room Overall, the hotel was fairly nice, typical Holiday Inn…HOWEVER, our room had absolutely no natural light coming in

We had a window, but it faced a wall Pitch black at all hours Hard to relax, when you have no idea what it’s like outside, or cues that it’s getting late, etc We (spouse and kids) slept terribly as we all kept waking up at various times afraid we’d oversleep (yes, we used an alarm clock), since we had no other cues it was morning Pic was taken before checkout at 9:30 am, just to show how ridiculous it wasWas never informed our room was like that when making booking, or calling in to confirm that day Unable to get new room as hotel was booked No refund as prepaid for best price We’re done with the IHG brand after this

Angela Steagall

Terry at the front desk was wonderful She is kind, personable and upbeat She got us the late checkout we needed

Our room was nice and comfortable and the hotel was quiet My one complaint was with the night staff She was rude Seemed like I was bothering her by asking for juice 30 minutes before breakfast Another employee was nice enough to help me Over all a good experience I’m not sure they should have someone with such a negative demeanor working their front desk, even if it is overnight

David Kellermeyer

I almost always book at Hampton Inn

I like the chain and it is generally reliable I seldom if ever write reviews My advice would be to avoid this particular Hampton Inn The property seems old and a bit run down There is a single elevator for a three story hotel No ice machines on either the second or third floor The parking area design is poor I don’t know how well the hotel is managedthe check-in clerk took forever to get me a room and then sent me to a room that wasn’t ready for occupancy I hate to write this, as I am a loyal customer of Hampton, but I would advise people to find a different hotel in the St Paul area I will continue to stay at Hampton Inns, but not at this one

Cassandra Rose

Staff is friendly and the breakfast was good but the rooms are tiny, the bed squeaked every time we moved and there were stains on several things in our room (curtains, desk chair, lounge chair) Hot tub isn’t working either which isn’t a huge deal but it’s one of the only amenities The building is also in a shared parking lot so it was really loud in our first floor room starting around 6am

Tanna Kincaid

Conveniently located by the airport and Mall of America While the hotel is not new it is clean The BEST part that will bring me back is the service

The front desk staff was amazingly attentive and helpful AND the shuttle service to the airport the Mall or within the area runs 24 hours and by request All three drivers we had were amazing – super friendly, helpful and in a very genuine way This place should do training for others on customer service

Sara DePew

I chose this hotel based on the brand name (I had been happy with Marriott stays before) and the free shuttle to the Mall of America I would definitely stay here again! The staff was courteous and polite, the restaurant was great to have breakfast before starting the day, and the shuttle ran once an hour to the mall Bonus that I was not expecting, the pool was a SALT water pool, so there was no pesky chlorine smell after swimming

Victoria Ortega

The hotel was clean It’s definitely dated but I was pleased with how much maintenance was constantly happening for cleanliness Our room did have a strange smell and the carpet looked like it needed some extra vacuuming, but overall, it was relatively clean

Big Pool, nice gym with water cooler, outdoor seating area, plenty of parking and a short walk to the bus stop that will take you directly to the Mall of America It’s about a 20 minute drive to downtown Minneapolis and a 5 minute drive to the mall At this time, they are not servicing rooms, if you need extra towels or want fresh bedding, it is all upon request

Decent hotel and the price wasn’t bad for the location Huge shoutout to Vivian in the breakfast lounge She is amazing and quite an asset to the hotel

Great hospitality!!! Unfortunately, I do have a couple of complaints: 1 We had no idea there was a free breakfast for guests until I was walking in the hotel the first morning after picking up McDonalds already There was nothing on my reservation confirmation and we weren’t told about it when we checked in That would’ve been nice to know before I spent money elsewhere on food 2 The south facing rooms definitely hear the interstate traffic outside We could hear it well in the morning when we were trying to sleep in 3 The blackout curtains in our room weren’t perfect at keeping the light outOther than these issues, our stay was acceptable and we were overall pleased with our stay The staff was very friendly Just wish they would’ve told us about the free buffet when we checked in

Lisa Hudson

(Due to a roach problem at the La Quinta in Bloomington, MN, I had to change hotels!)I found the Radisson online and checked in and I’m so glad I did! Excellent customer service! Beautifully decorated and clean rooms Prices were great and parking secure and enclosed

You need a ticket or Passcode to exitFree breakfast and even pet friendly Also great location, half mile from St Paul state capitol and expressways I will stay here again when I return!

Dylan Barth

The staff here was the most helpful hotel staff I’ve ever experienced Every interaction was helpful and positiveThe highlight was dropping my airpod down the elevator shaft

I thought I would never get it back and within 20 minutes it was hand delivered to meAbsolutely excellent experience Thankful for the folks who work here

This is a very clean, well run hotel with accommodations in like new conditions Everything was really clean, kept up and the service was outstanding and very friendly and customer focused This will be my hotel of choice when I stay in Minneapolis

The breakfast meal was very quick and had really good choices for a hotel restaurant, buffet and menu The service at breakfast was really friendly cheerful and quick Dinner menu lacks variety and the bar well it is a hotel bar in the city Prices for drinks a little steep Overall a great choice To be clear this is not a five star hotel, but for the type and tier hotel it is, you can’t find better

David Dobrindt

Location is great That’s the best I can say about this hotel They won’t service your room

Even if you call down in the morning before leaving for the day and they say they will take care of it, they won’t service your room Parking is 22 a day and the garage is full at night so if you get back after 8 or 9 you have to park in a lot nearby and walk I am a lifetime diamond and travel 3 weeks a month, loyal Hilton customer, usually very patient but a number of other things added to my issues with this location There is a HI and Home2 close so will try those next time

A Photos

The rooms were clean, housekeeping was great But and it might seem petty but their was no continental breakfast or coffee The manager on duty blamed employees not showing up, which in todays society I completely understand

But there needed to be some sort of compensation, we even got charged for an Orange juice and water which sounds petty, but as a Hilton Honors member, you need to do better It’s not our fault you didn’t have employees show up, but when we booked we expected breakfast as part of our deal

Staff wasn’t overly friendly Called ahead to get an early check in, the gal was nice and said it wouldn’t be a problem

but when we checked in, another gal said we couldn’t check-in early So after a 4 hour drive we had to sit in the parking lot Then at 3, we went back and got our room, only to try to open the door and some guy was in the room So we went back to the front desk & they have us another room The air conditioning units don’t work well Beds were comfy, but smaller than the queens I’ve stayed in before Pillows were nice Housekeeping ladies were really nice Only 2 elevators worked and it was during a conference weekend, so that was a pain But it was a convenient location, as I was attending the conference The conference was awesome and the staff helping at the conference were great Overall I wouldn’t go back, and honestly would only recommend it as a last resort to anyone traveling that way

Kim Wilson

AJ was a great help during our stay He helped us with directions several times, he recommended places to eat, things to do, and he got us extra coffee, creamer, and toiletries when we needed them The young lady who worked with him at the front desk was also very pleasant

The beds are super comfortable, and the fridge and in-room coffee maker are great The rooms are very clean We had room service for breakfast, and it was really good I never get enough butter on my toast, but it was perfect The location is close to the mall and the airport, which is nice The box fan in the closet is a great idea for those who need white noise to sleep

Amber K

The service was excellent, and the (wellness) room was practically immaculate There was an adorable “puppy” made out of a towel right when you walk in, and the air was very soothing The staff let us know about all the amenities available, and they were very professional and kind

The pool was down for maintenance, and there is no complimentary breakfast or sauna, but overall it was a very nice hotel experience

I am so happy I booked the carriage house instead of a hotel It afforded me a lot more privacy than your standard room, and was just so cute The meals were amazing

I think Kevin’s pancakes are the best I have ever had in my life, even better than my own! If you come to stay here, definitely don’t skip the breakfast Kevin was a great host and made the whole experience amazing Beautiful house in a beautiful neighborhood Parking was great as well and he even let us plug in a block heater for our diesel truck (good thing too because it was so cold that I don’t think we’d be able to get it started otherwise) 10/10 would visit again

Shirlee Smith

Excellent beyond expectations! We don’t expect to return to St Paul, but if we do, this is where we want to stay The Carriage House is a delightful private apartment

Kevin’s breakfasts were fantastic! And the neighborhood is absolutely charming We enjoyed trying a different restaurant each night, and on the last night went bar hopping to be sure we hadn’t messed anything — all within easy walking distance of the B&B

Theresa Watson

I wish we could rate the Historic District bed and breakfast with higher than 5 stars! It was an absolutely lovely stay in every way! The home is gorgeous and the rooms are spotless and extremely comfortable Kevin was such a helpful and kind host—not to mention an amazing chef! One of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had! We will definitely be coming back Thank you, Kevin!

Before I booked my stay, I read all the WONDERFUL reviews about the hosts Seems they unfortunately moved out 2 days before I arrived Too bad they didn’t train the new lady to have the customer service they did

When we arrived, we stood outside the front door in negative degree weather with our bags in arms and rang the bell Door was locked, we could see lady inside ignoring us… so we got confused and cold, and went to sit back in our warm car The host KNEW what time we would arrive so we expected a warm greeting Called and asked the host if we were at the right door, she said yes So we went back to the door and she finally let us in She then proceeded to give a tour which is appreciated but not very convenient when carrying our bags still in arms Finally in our room, we asked for some ice, was told she would be back with some, but she never returned Room and food was good but hoping the customer service gets better before I ever return again

Matthew Hagen

We stayed in the Cynthia room It was spacious, comfortable and very relaxingThe staff were all friendly and helpful and a joy to talk with

If we had any needs they were a text away, which was great for when we were out and aboutThe beds are extremely comfortable The room was inspiring and the food was amazing We loved every minuteMy only gripe – and it’s a small one – is that they offer Netflix, Hulu, etc But no log in We like to watch a show before bed, but live TV was all we could get Luckily the bed lulled us to sleep real quickOverall a great experience We hope to visit again!

This place is very nice The room is spacious and nicely decorated We had a free upgrade to a room with a seperate bedroom and living room

The lobby was pretty and it even had a sweet glass rotating doors (sadly not in operation) Pool is hugeI did not care for how long it takes to get from parking to elevators, seems like there should be more Hallways were a lot less polished and clean than the rooms and lobby I still think it’s a great place with the few complaints though

Dawn M

The staff at the restaurant were super nice The food was pretty good Check in was quick and easy

However, the rooms in this hotel are VERY outdated The whole place needs a paint job and some new carpeting The rooms need total remodeling The furniture is old, wood, chipped and scratched The bathroom shower had an actual tub/shower combo with a fabric curtain hanging on a rod I only stayed 1 night but no complaints on cleanliness of room Just really old and outdated

Ryan Whedon

A sad hotel, crying for some TLC Everywhere you look the hotel is either peeling, chipped or just plain falling apart It appears the hotel is attempting to fix some things, but not at the pace the hotel is aging

Even the van door on the shuttle was partially falling off and didn’t completely close Don’t count on a open gym as even though my key opened the door, it looked pretty much closed The pool and hot tub is open, fairly nice in size Small business center with a few computers and printerFor a quick overnight it’s perfectly acceptable hotel if you just want a clean and comfortable bed to sleep on I somehow got a suite this stay, but still only used the bed area and would have been greatly disappointed if I paid for a actual suite

Rooms were good Clean but nothing special We have 5 to our family so we bring a folding mattress with us on trips

We checked in at 7pm and asked for an extra blanket and pillow We were already in bed with the lights out at 1130pm when the extras showed upThere was rarely someone at the front desk My son found a room key on the floor and went to turn it in Nobody aroundBreakfast was subpar Boxed scrambled eggs, not enough other items each of the days we were there and they had one person working Not the worker’s fault but they couldn’t keep up I’d rather save $30 on the room cost and go to the Denny’s in the parking lot

The desk staff and valet people were really hustling and did a good job getting lots of cars quicklyThe room was not great There was no mattress pad on the bedjust a fitted sheet directly on the mattress The room was not cleaned well There was dried mascara on the sink leftover from a previous guest The door handles and high touch surfaces had residue and marks showing that they clearly take no time to wipe down or properly clean such areas The shower was not cleanTheir saving grace is that they are right across the street from the excel center, which is convenient for attending events However, it may be worth it to stay elsewhere in a cleaner room and take an Uber or pay for event parking instead!

We were in town for a difficult family trip (saying goodbye to a loved one), so for us, this place was a haven of much-needed rest It’s been recently remodeled and has a new feel, even though you can tell by the ceilings that the building has old bones The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast room packed but kept up with, and most memorable were the staff, who were kind and helpful

The only thing I wish I would have known about beforehand was that there was a parking lot *right* behind the hotel, which could have saved us the $35 valet fee (though the valet guys were great) We literally walked into our room, opened the windows, and looked down onto the park-and-pay parking lot It would have been a short walk up a hill and around a corner with our suitcases, definitely worth the $35 plus tips! Oh well! If we’d been having a sight-seeing trip, it would have been a perfect location for downtown events and the riverwalk Another time, perhaps!

We went to a Minnesota Wild game, and love the convenience and location of the hotel to the Xcel Energy You are given valet parking, so you don’t have to find a spot to park and pricing is reasonable They have breakfast in the morning from 6 to 10 am

we have stayed there a few times for games and all the experiences have been good Would reccommend

We came for our anniversary Told them about our anniversary and asked for a really nice room with king size bed The room we got was pretty bad

While we were there we got to see another room that was empty, that was twice the size and way way nicer and newer and roomier and fresher and cleaner Pretty disappointing So we got there early and spent time and money in the swirl bar and then we ate at their fine dining restaurant on site and also booked a brunch cruise through them When booking, arriving, and during dinner, we told them it was our anniversary Kind of disappointed that they couldn’t comp is a glass of wine or the dessert or no portion of the bottle of champagne that we bought over dinner I will say that the people working there were all very nice and accommodating The food was delicious as well!

Privacy? Not here, sleep? Not unless everyone else is sleeping! Walls are so thin I could hear EVERY word my upstairs neighbors were saying & they were up til 2 am, I felt like I was part of the conversation When we first arrived there was a domestic going on in the room below us, again I could here every F word used (he also was not happy to be here either, I heard him say that!)

When we made a complaint they said they were aware of it but did nothingThe room itself was okay we had a few good hours while the upstairs neighbors were gone The double jacuzzi was great, the fireplace was nice & I really enjoyed the town Maybe don’t stay in room 7? Definitely will come back to the Afton area Just NOT to the Afton Inn

Took my family to Current at the Afton House Inn for Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet Awful! Especially for $35/pp- The “Eggs Benedict” (yes, using quotes because it was definitely NOT Eggs Benedict

) was a piece of toast cut in quarters with super thin Canadian bacon Instead of a poached egg, they had a tiny square of congealed (probably powdered) scrambled egg that was about the size of a cheese cube Really strange! More like Ghetto Benedict!- The buffet was supposed to have salmon They had blue gill instead…how is that on par with salmon?- The pastries and desserts were all yucky low-quality commercially made product…like the kind you get the free breakfast at a Holiday Inn Express I don’t mind commercially made baked goods! Some are exceptional! These were not- Everything on the buffet was always picked over and they took forever to refill the empty pans- Our server was nice enough, but we noted that she never asked how the food was We can see why…she knew better- Did I mention the scrambled eggs on the buffet caught on fire, due to overfilling the sterno cans underneath? Should have been scary, but we all laughed it was just the perfect ending to a bad mealOverall, an extremely lackluster experience and we will not return Dine at your own risk!

Green Heron Bed and Breakfast

Very seldom do we get a chance to travel, but when we do, where do we stay? Why another bed and breakfast of course, and this one was amazing! From the location, right up the road from the Como Conservatory, close to restaurants, and surrounded by beautiful architecture, to the wonderful breakfasts and conversation Carla is delightful! She has lived there for years and knows so much about the local area and we were wowed with her culinary talent We will be back!

A magical and truly comforting experience! The entire place is gorgeous and decorated with a beautifully curated eye There’s an enchanting garden in front and it’s only a few steps from lake Como Carla is a warm and gracious host

All the little touches and extras in the rooms make you feel cared for and special I loved all the antique books and quilts!

We all loved the place We had 5 family members who stayed between 5-7 nights each Carla is so gracious and interesting, her dogs are fantastic, the furnishings are endlessly interesting-so much to look at! And the breakfasts were delicious, with interesting conversations with other guests

The location just across the street from the lake and an easy walk from the band shell made it so simple to go rent a canoe or kayak or buy an ice cream I would certainly stay there again, and recommend it to any of my friends and family

First, when we were asked about the quality of our stay by the gentleman checking us out, the concierge (blonde lady) next to him scolded us when we simply asked a question A few other things disappointed us There was a pool of blood in the pool room

My wife kindly let the concierge desk know about it In the 30 minutes we were in the pool area it was never cleaned Then, on the Sunday morning, we came down for breakfast and there were 25 airport cargo employees who came in off their shift and wiped out the breakfast buffet And they were rude I get it They were staying at the hotel too But the hotel was aware of their schedule and did not plan for it It would be like a restaurant taking a reservation for a large party and not preparing a head of time thus disrupting their service availability to the other patrons No restaurant would do that out of fear of alienating the other patrons And that is what happened Other guests, who like ourselves were enjoying a vacation at a nicer hotel, were thrust into what felt like a workplace cafeteria It ruined our experience And from the comments we heard of the very shocked other guests, it ruined their experience too

Great new hotel right across the street from Mall of America A fantastic restaurant 100 feet away named Hazelwood Food and Drink Rooms are spacious and are made for long stays with kitchens and refrigerators

On site lounge and grab and go breakfast Only draw back is being close to the airport, the takeoffs and landings can get a tad loud at night and the morning
