Really enjoyed this conference center Very friendly staff, very accomodating and willing to help The large lobby is supportive of a community feeling, all lobbies need to be like this

The reason for the 4 star is a very noisy fan in the bathroom We mentioned it on our way out because we assumed it would not be able to be fixed on a weekend The location was ideal because we had a relative graduating in the area The breakfast and snacks were plentiful with 24 hour coffee, other beverages and fruit Lots of nature and trees in the area

Alex Larner

Let me start off by saying that I have been a conference organizer & AV tech for 16 years, running conferences anywhere from 300 to 3000 attendees all across the state of Michigan Just this past weekend I lead an AV team at a conference here, where we rented out the whole conference center I must say that in all my years of administrating conferences and AV, this place ranks head and shoulders above the rest

There are ethernet ports and power hookups every 3-6 feet along the walls in all the rooms and open areas, plenty for vendors, speakers, and AV to never have to compete for power or internet The wired internet speeds are 1Gbps Up & 100Mbps down which is fantastic for live streaming The great hall and all the breakout rooms are all wired for HDMI & XLR and contain ceiling mounted projectors making presenting in any of the rooms a breezeThe pricing is very reasonable, especially considering there are no extra charges to use their cables or equipment, and there are no charges to plug things into their outlets or ethernet ports, unlike most venuesThe staff are outstanding and extremely accommodating, they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need When we had AV issues during our AV setup the night before the conference, the AV staff (Rob & Matt) stayed past midnight to help us troubleshoot the issue, even running all over the place to get us spare equipment and cables to help troubleshoot Even though they were supposed to be off the clock by 9 PM During the conference the AV staff (Ashe, Matt, and Rob) were always available to get us a cable or an adapter at a moment’s noticeFrom now on, I’ll highly recommend for any conference that I run or am working on that we use the Prince Conference Center

I called and Sonali answered to help me book a room She was absolutely AMAZING! I think it was a little hard to hear me because I was trying to find a hotel since mine overbooked and she was so nice and understanding! The rooms were nice and cozy and got the job done for what I needed One major thing I care about when checking into a hotel is how clean it is, no cutting corners and they absolutely got that down! Having cable was a special touch, my kids were able to watch what they wanted and then I was able to watch a movie

Breakfast in the morning was light but they had many options to choose from so didn’t really bother me Everyone here was super nice and I will easily choose to stay here the next time I’m in the area

This review is specifically for the Accessible Room on the first floor Clean and spacious, linens seemed stained and older, but clean Bathroom was well set up and had the movable shower seat

Very clean! The room hasn’t been updated in awhile, but gets the job done You can hear the pool echoing during the day, but quiets down once people leave for the night Service was great! Woman at the front desk was a great help and very friendly and professional Continental breakfast was standard fare, but no real gluten free options except fruit and yogurt Location is tucked away off a side road, but had parking available for us Good value for the cost if you’re looking for something close to the airport

Tom

Our family stayed one night with two toddlers Everything from start to finish was perfect, from the staff to the accommodations This was without a doubt one of the best customer service experiences we’ve ever encountered

The staff were very sweet with our kids! The pool was a little outdated but still tons of fun Breakfast had tons of options including scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches and other cold items If we’re ever back in town, we’re staying here!

C. Morgan

The staff here makes this place Very nice employeesWhile staying in Grand Rapids we made reservations here at the Fairfield Inn & Suites

My observations were that the rooms were fairly updated The Cleanliness was not as good as I’d hoped The bedspreads had dark staining almost like makeup (see photos) the refrigerator had previous guests items in it still The Bodywash in the shower was empty There were broken tiles in the bathroom Water pressure was good The room was fairly quiet, you can occasionally hear your neighbors beside and above (we were on 2nd floor) The breakfast was okay, nothing wonderful but they did have hot foods, and cold cereal as well as fresh fruit to choose fromThis wasn’t a bad stay, it was just not exactly as I had expected it to be I would stay again though The location was good, we were able to visit many attractions and you could literally walk to many restaurants in the area

Stayed here for 8 days with my 2 kids for Junior Gold and we couldn’t of been happier with our decision The location is surrounded by a ton of places to eat and shop The employees were always nice and helpful

All the facilities worked(pool, exercise room), the comp express breakfast was on point Food was delicious and always had plenty to choose from The cafe lady was amazing! She works so hard! Always say hi and converses I did not sleep well(but I never do in hotels) but my kids slept great each night so I’m assuming the beds were comfortable enough The only flaw in the room is that the mini fridge wasn’t that cold I’d prefer it to be colder Maybe there’s a setting that I didn’t notice? For the deal I received through Junior Gold, it was well worth the stay and would have no issue staying here if I’m out in Grand Rapids again

Ann B.

This place has been great the older women who does breakfast is so sweet They have free laundry here and will give you detergent and dryer sheets! The morning cleaning crew has also been great with minor cleaning for my week stay The pool and hot tub are always open and clean

I went down with my 6 month old and had the pool to ourselves Very calming I recommend the King suit

Jill Tatrow

A few girls I went to high school with got together for a girls weekend at the Holiday Inn Express off AlpineWe specifically booked this hotel because it’s in the “middle” for all of us and because they have a pool and hot tub We’re old(er) and were very much looking forward to the hot tub

When we got to the hotel it was clean, the front desk attendant was very polite and our room was just what we asked for, though the beds were a little hard but hey, it’s a hotel, not homeWe then ventured down to check out the pool and hot tub Much to our dismay, the pool and hot tub were filled with young teenage boys from a traveling baseball teamThe hot tub water was literally brown from a younger boy bringing his Matchbox cars from outside into the hot tub and the dirt had destroyed the once inviting waterWe asked the front desk attendant if there was any way it could be cleaned He didn’t have anyone available on staff to do it and he didn’t know how (completely understandable!)We had a good weekend and the staff was fantastic, the breakfast was amazing, more than I expected from a hotel We were just bummed that adults weren’t able to enjoy the pool and hot tub because of the kids

Let me start by saying I typically do not write negative reviews… but enough is enough1 Less than pleasant staff at check in

2 Quoted one price over the phone (not through an app) and charged something else We tried having this fixed Emailed sales, requested to speak to manager and just got blown off ever day Super unprofessional3 We were told we were going to have a kitchen We did not Our mini fridge didn’t even work4 People in our group asked for their room to be cleaned day after day over our 7+ day stay and still nothing until day 65 Other people in our group we charged $90 less per night FOR THE SAME ROOM as us!!!! Ridiculous6 Breakfast was not the best, but nevertheless something was available so that was a plus They did open it early for us one day so thank you to the breakfast lady You were the only kind person there There were so many other small things were very annoying and disappointing, but I’ll just leave it bePlease save your money and stay somewhere else They do not deserve your business We’ll gladly take our money elsewhere in the future Lesson learned

Ali B

If you are looking to give them business I advise you to find another hotel as this location does not care about customers For 16 weeks I had to chase down Crisanna the wedding block coordinator Excuse after excuse was given and after 16 weeks of being blown off and no one caring, I finally said forget it

Customers shouldn’t have to chase people down to give you business Left four complaints with the GM Patrick and heard nothing This was probably the worse customer service I have ever experienced when trying to give a business money 16 WEEKS of chasing people down for nothing I would not recommend this facility to anyone Very disappointed

Not a fun, the restaurant and lounge was good The rest needs mayor work Front desk staff at check in were rude and dismissive

Left waiting at airport because shuttle has a different hotel logo on it and Noone thought it was a good idea to mention thatAudio service in halls were very problematic throughout the convention Internet service kept dropping off or was completely goneBusiness center was out of order since we arrived of Wednesday even though it was part of our contractNo maid service, You need to get towels every day so you can wash up When will hotels start doing their full jobs again? If not, lower your prices

Chip Huffman

Of the 4 hotels we stayed at during our trip, this hotel ranks at the bottom and well below any of the others!! Front Desk employees while efficient, were far from customer friendly The restaurant is overpriced and mediocre at best The room was ok, but not special

The lack of bags in the trash cans was disturbing Luckily, we had several plastic grocery bags in the car to overcome this shortcoming In short, customer service does not seem to be a priority at this hotel

Olita Martin

My daughter was getting married and picked this hotel to house her guest in for that weekend Upon arriving I was greeted when it was time for me to pay it was a disaster It was a error on the merchant end

I’ve never felt so embarrassed before, I also had to call my bank I’ve never had to do that before Make a long story short I would never stay at Hilton establishment again I missed wedding rehearsal everything went bad after the check in went left my blood pressure was up I’m very upset about my check in experience I never received apology or anything My room was terrible I just didn’t want to report it cause I was so upset

The only thing good about our stay was the gentleman at the front desk For $160 I was not impressed Very dissatisfied for this being a Marriott property

Rooms weren’t cleaned efficiently, pool area was disgusting Not sure if it was chocolate or poop all over the floor in the pool area Brown stuff floating all over in the pool as well Water was freezing!!! Toilets barely flushed Stains on the beds Mold in shower Breakfast area was okay but complimentary coffee was always cold Will never be returning to this property

Steve Muller

Booked a room on Bookingcom which said no age restrictions for check-in Reserved a room for my 19 yr old daughter and her 20 yr old college roommate and they would not allow them to check in stating check-in age was 21

This is a contradiction to the booking confirmation that we received from this hotel that stated no age restrictions that 18 yr old are considered adults at this facility They have effectively stranded my daughter and roommate 5 hours from Marquette, MI with nowhere to stay All the hotels are booked up due to a concert in the area This is unacceptable We spoke with the manager Josephine and explained to her that our kids were stranded 5 hours away all hotels were booked and surely she could have made an exception since it was the hotel’s fault but chose not

It was a decent hotel The staff was great! Very helpful! They had some room troubles but I wasn’t sure what was going on but it worked out fine The room itself was very nice! Except the bathroom, there wasn’t much toilet paper, towels, or wash clothes

No bath mat either The breakfast was mediocre I was disappointed when I went to get apple juice but I got water instead All the juices were just water Not a lot options for breakfast and the fresh fruit tasted funny Overall a good hotel but not the best I’ve been at!

Annika Ehrig Rosario

We have stayed at many different Hampton Inns as Diamond Lifetime members so we were surprised when we had some trouble with check in as the staff member was confused and fairly new at the jobThe rooms are definitely dated but overall comfortable One of them definitely smelled of cigarette smoke

Another issue was the shuttle only runs a few hours a day to GRR airportOverall the staff were nice and tried to makeup for all the mishaps but there’s clearly some improvements and renovations to be made

James Harlow

After a whole day of international travel and finally getting to the room at 1215a, my wife and I were welcomed to only two towels and two hand towels and no bath mat Literally two Kleenex, and scrap of a roll of toilet paper on the holder (one extra roll was available) If your looking for a easy sleep and fly with basic amenities and, you should look on 28th street

More updated hotels are there for around the same cost That’s what we’ll do next time I’m starting to feel Hampton Inn is more in line with motel 6 than Hilton

Stay at Home2 regularly with work travel They are doing a great job here Room is clean, bed very comfortable and plenty of toiletry supplies

Breakfast is better than the last couple I have stayed at and coffee is always ready Parking lot cleared of snow and walks treated for ice, so customer safety is obviously important Would recommend for your stay Was here for 4 nights

B Jean

The good-Most everything This hotel was very comfortable and quiet The beds were super soft and the sheets were silky

The rooms are very large and have a kitchenette Full sized fridge, sink, and dishwasher Dishes are provided for your use There was a TON of counter space We had two queen beds and a pull out couch The fitness center was pristine clean Good sized pool 55 feet Hot tub was nice and warm with jets I slept the best at this hotel out of any that I have stayed at You can’t here the highway at all Breakfast is free It was okay Omelettes and breakfast sandwiches were made ahead of time and kept in a warm box They had cereal, waffles, yogurt, fruit, juice, and toastThe bad- Fire alarm went off at 7am for unknown reasons It was very disorienting and irritating By time we were dressed it was off I did not have a hot shower the whole time I was there Water was warm at best Air conditioning was very loud We turned it off over night Housekeeping staff (girl with blonde ponytail) was very rude to my son when he went into the fitness center to grab a key I had left on the treadmill ( I was standing in the doorway He was not unattended) He didn’t say what she said but he was in tears

Philly Philly

I’m a Diamond member with Hilton and travel virtually every single week and always stay in Hilton properties This one was pretty disappointing One of the elevators was broken

Equipment in the fitness center is broken Since the elevators were taking a long time I decided to take the stairs and it smelled like something died in there No matter what my status has been with Hilton I had never been charged for the cheap bottles of water before The good ones yes but not the cheap ones and I was charged for 2 of them on this trip Not a big deal just the principle The room was fine with the exception that the dispensers in the shower were empty but everything else was exactly why I choose Hilton properties

Underrated hotel! Clean, well appointed and well maintained hotel with friendly front deskThey had a pool, which I somehow didn’t know aboutThey have a ton of games and tvs in the lobby to keep the teens happy and off their phones

Only improvement would be that they have wood floors which make any walking from above floor sound like a heard of elephants Not much they could do there other than maybe lay down runners?Overall, great place to stay for a couple nightsWe didn’t try the breakfast but it looked like your standard hotel breakfast bar

Robert Schneider

I was only visiting a friend who was in town So don’t consider this a complete review They have a pool but no hot tub which is the only negative I saw while there

The pool from my understanding is heated so it’ll never be super cold at least I really like that in the rooms they have bottles of shampoo and hand soap mounted up so there’s no need to use bar soap If you’re a person who has an ever growing collection of hotel soaps don’t worry though they do have mini bottles and a bar soap you can take There’s even an in house laundry room looked like it might be a coin wash but I didn’t enter I just saw the price posted I did notice an exercise room, but I didn’t pay close attention to it The decoration and feel of the hotel was very pleasant and the little convince store looked well stocked Oh, another downer We couldn’t find a microwave in the room just a mini fridge

joy

Nice, newer hotel! So much better than the comfort inn next door!!! Room very small, just enough room to walk around the King bed & nice bathroom They only give each room 2 wash cloth & bath towels, so if you stay longer than one night you have to always ask for more Everything was neat and clean! Nice staff! Good price for the room

We will stay here again!!

Very nice rooms, comfortable and clean! They even offered the option to cast on their TV so we could use one of our streaming service to watch a movie! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because of the breakfast area and breakfast staff I have stayed here twice and both times the breakfast area has been under stocked and the breakfast staff has been less than willing to restock With that being said I would still highly recommend this hotel! All other service has been great!

Micos HairSalon

Nice clean room, clean pool, pic a little misleading as thought there was a hot tub Beds were really nice and comfy until I was woken up by heavy footsteps, not sure if they were just from the hallways or above us but my husband and kids heard the same too Hot breakfast always a plus in the mornings but the scrambled eggs were a little salty

I think if I stayed here again I’d stay on the 4th floor to avoid anyones thunderous stomping

T Sommer

I did not even check inn On 6/16/22 I went to get a room because the app was not working The guy told me they were booked, then they weren’t

All this is fine but the constant sighing and attitude made me just walk out and not pay the $150 for the room Ii went to the Holiday Inn and Suites right up the road where they know customer service Whomever the front desk clerk was, should look for a job he might be better at Your job is to literally help people, not get an attidude when everything does not go right Way to high of a price to have people like that working there

Even though the hotel is more like air b&b on check in I found it quite easy to get in & find my room It was very clean for a dog friendly hotel The dogs were very cute and the room had dog bowls and dog friendly furniture

My room had a washer and dryer in the room which was very nice Full kitchen stocked with cooking pans coffee and good quality coffee If I travel back I will make sure that I stay there! The design was really cool, the view was excellent I asked for a high level floor and I received it I was so happy about that I wish I had stayed there longer was my only regret

Amy Houston

We loved the location, the amenities, ease of check in and especially that you were dog friendly! We were able to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to (it was v cold, so a few places we took an uber) Most dog friendly hotels just let you bring your dog The Morton, they WELCOME your pup! From the treats in the lobby, to the canine decor in our room, to the bowls and dog bed in the room we felt very comfortable and welcomed

This apartment style hotel was a new experience for me, so I had no expectations or previous experience to compare to Ethan, the hotel manager was outstanding from a customer service standpoint Checking in was a tad challenging but that’s because I don’t fully read emails (check in instructions are detailed within the body of an email and I missed those details because I didn’t read the entire message)

Ethan sent me the instructions over messaging anyway, and after that check in was smooth The key fobs are so much better than traditional hotel keys! While we did not bring our pup this time, I appreciate the dog friendliness of the property The Morton is going to be my go-to place to stay when we visit the GR area from now on, mostly due to my experiences with Ethan!

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars all around

Here are the reasons why I didn’t First, the hotel is in a perfect location You don’t get the river view, but otherwise you are central to everything downtown The rooms are quiet, except from outside noise (from the windows), you definitely have city sounds that creep into the living space all night long But if you have a 1 room suite, shut the bedroom door and you get total silence But my major dissatisfaction came from 1) the website said there was evening drinks/appetizers offered Sun-Thur but when we checked in were told it was only light appetizers on Wed evening Second, breakfast kind of sucked They were out of one or more items each morning (No cream for coffee, no potatoes to go with the eggs, no fresh fruit, it really changed daily) They kept saying they were waiting on a truck, but I really think they just were not ordering correctly as this was the fourth Hilton property we’ve stayed in over the last two weeks and no other property had this issue, including the one I’m at now writing this reviewI do want to give a special shout-out to Prentice He was extremely helpful and friendly If anyone deserves a raise, it’s that guy for sure Thanks for making our stay better

Big comfort rooms, mini kitchen, tableware on shelfGreat breakfast in the morningStaff at desk friendly and courtious

A bar on main floor and roof top with selected hours The waitress really great; smile at greeting, checks on you if additional order wantedPool lower level of hotelSecurity nice: room key required entering from outside sidewalk (after7pm), and to rooms 3-6 and roof top loungeFamily stay or business; it’s a nice getaway, hope to return

Awesome location in a historic building in Grand Rapids Close to everything that can walk just about anywhere in the city which is great The staff was okay as had to see front desk people three times to get a key to work for the in and out for garage

The garage is a little pricey compared to rest of garages in area, but hotel does provide in and out access which is nice Room was perfect for my wife and I with our toddler as he had a bed in the living room area and we had our private bedroom We could cook which was nice, but biggest positive was having a full size fridge after visiting the Fulton Street Farmers Market and the Holland Farmers Market Would stay here again if had kid with us just for the space of the rooms

We had a wonderful 3 night stay here for my birthday The staff was incredibly friendly and professional I would like to commend Drew especially for going above and beyond with our accommodations

The whole hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed a dinner in Margaux’s outdoor igloos which was cozy and fun, as well as the delicious breakfast buffet inside the restaurant The omelette chef was amazing and greeted us each morning as well Would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area and not to mention it is within walking distance of all the best spots in town

The lobby is so awkward in when you check in

it is pretty shabby if you look closely around especially the ceiling Also in the rooms the windows were filthy and smelled very foul My room smelled different bad than my mom’s adjoining room which was odd The rooms are nice though esp the bathroom configuration We also had a very helpful bellhop and the man who checked us in was also very good They do need to let guests know the elevator takes a keyand the railing at the elevator bank needs to be higher seems so low for being 9 stories upI slept really well here which is priceless The luncheon buffet was good, and the evening bartender really went the extra mile and was very attentive Breakfast was also good but a tad $$$ $50 for two meals and 2 coffees Good brewed house coffee

Courtney Guthrie

The staff was very professional and kind Shout out to the front desk guy who checked us in last night – he was a manifestation of an amazing front desk associateThe place appeared very well cleaned

Our room was beautiful I very much enjoyed staying here Plus the Starbucks is a bonus 😎🥰

This was our second time staying here, and both times were fantastic The front desk employees are incredibly friendly, rooms are spacious and clean, and the pool area is fantastic (hot tub, plus a heated pool that can be accessed from both indoors and outdoors – the kids loved it) In addition to the very reasonably priced rooms, you get a full breakfast buffet, coffee 24/7, soft drinks in the evenings, and a happy hour with three FREE drinks and food every night

Super accessible to the airport and only 15 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids Highly recommend

Krystal Pryor

Great place to stay Loved the amenities and the fact that they serve breakfast and dinner; saved us a lot of money on foodThe only thing I didn’t like was the smell of the pool

To me it didn’t smell like chlorine and was really potent; almost made me gag The pool itself was clean though

The only thing that I was happy with is the continental breakfast and hot coffee There was a display with a complimentary bottle of water that read “Ask about me”

And when I asked I was told it was something they were doing a long time ago My question is why not take it down if you are know longer offering bottled water The rooms are dirty, some rooms were so bad that people asked to be moved to a different room The hotel is located in a drug infested area The staff was very nice and pleasant but that did not make up for filthy rooms I was there on business and if I had a choice in the matter I would have never chosen that hotel I will never go there again

Muktar Abasanbi

This hotel is very clean and the front desk people were nice My only recommendations are1 The windows are not sound proof

The noice from outside is loud2 I recommend putting toothpaste in the bathroom3 There is no smart TV in the room My kids tried to watch something on YouTube but the TV doesn’t support YouTube (not smart)Everything else, wonderful!

Ashton Fuoss

The room was okay, a lot of things were broken I smelled weed coming from somewhere at night The front desk attendant who checked us in did not answer my questions

He could not find our reservation at first, did not want to explain why I was being charged an extra 50 dollar deposit after I paid for the room months in advance We picked a room with a jetted heart shaped tub, the fixtures only produced water around 85 degrees and the spout was loose The doorknob on the bedroom door was brokenOverall not horrible, but not at all worth the price

Ward Ashley

The only thing good about our stay was the gentleman at the front desk For $160 I was not impressed Very dissatisfied for this being a Marriott property

Rooms weren’t cleaned efficiently, pool area was disgusting Not sure if it was chocolate or poop all over the floor in the pool area Brown stuff floating all over in the pool as well Water was freezing!!! Toilets barely flushed Stains on the beds Mold in shower Breakfast area was okay but complimentary coffee was always cold Will never be returning to this property
