We stayed here one night on a road trip, which was really lovely! The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly It is in a great location within walking distance of many great restaurants/bars Also, it’s pet friendly and the park across the street is a great place to walk your dog

The only con is that there is no plant-based option for the arrival cookie! I hope with more and more people eating plant-based, they start to carry non-dairy cookies as this is the best part about staying at a Double Tree 😉

No restroom access without a key, no key because I could not check in yet Front desk not very professional or friendly I know people are stressed, short staffed and cranky

COVID and all related issues are not an excuse for poor service, it seems to be the excuse for everything When this is all over people will rethink loyalty to chains Bright spot, restaurant staff were great, friendly and good service Even if the conference is held here again I would likely not stay here again

Mona

Staff is friendly however my room (room 524) had dirty stains on the window curtains, the heating/cooling system has a mind if it’s own…was either too hot or too cold, and when I went to take a shower, I noticed a dirty stain on what was suppose to be a new towel (it was quickly changed upon me telling the staff) Oh and room service is upon request The hotel otherwise is nice and the food at the restaurant was good

Booked a 2 bedroom suite for 2 nights Very much enjoyed the rooms and the responsiveness when I called the front desk for bedding The king bed was nice, but definitely not as comfortable as many hotel beds I’ve stayed in (too firm)

Hot tub was great being inside Biggest complaint is lack of Continental breakfast The hotel gave us two $7 coupons for the restaurant breakfast which still ended up being almost $40 for two modest meals Almost everything seemed cooked well but shockingly bland Like zero flavor The french toast was just plain bad Overall, would definitely stay again but I’d avoid the restaurant

Hyperjackaboy 3583

I loved my stay here! The rooms were very clean and comfortable Most rooms have a small balcony that looks right out onto the river There are walking trails next to the river and even a dock to walk on

The staff is amazing The lady that helped me upgraded my room to one with a jet tub for my husband and I The restaurant has very good food When you check in they give you a voucher for 7 dollars towards breakfast Overall it was a great stay and we will be back!

Stacy Caswell

Rooms are nice, beds super comfy, service desk staff are really helpful and kind Got great recommendations on places to eat (Hawthorne Asylum 5*) around the areaHonestly, the location is rough

very clear Covid was not kind to this part of Portland, with the extraordinary number of tents lining the streets a constant reminder I imagine it was very different before the pandemic as there is a sense of underlying beauty within the chaos of the surrounds

Susan Baranoff

King suite was laid out oddly The bathroom is off the main bedroom so you have to go through the bedroom if you’re sleeping on the sofa-bed (could be awkward) Our particular room has a few maintenance issues that we worked around by our choice, but I did let the desk know and they were super interested in getting things fixed

One suggestion would be for there to be a shelf or small table in room with the toilet and shower to give a place to put things down that isn’t the floorStaff was very courteous and efficient Valet parking was helpful, efficient and happy to o see us every timeBreakfast service was a pre fixe buffet with made to order omelets and wafflesGenerally what you would expect from this brand in a downtown setting

PJ 25

I wish I had good things to say about this Marriott but I don’t From the moment I arrived it was complete disorganization and lack of staff From the hour plus long wait to eat dinner due to only two servers along with the bartender serving a packed house

Receiving multiple rooms with keys that wouldn’t work Had to move to two different rooms The room shower drain was plugged This place could use a better GM and more staff Won’t ever go back to this particular Marriott The food is the only good thing about this place but maybe I’m saying that becasue of how hungry I was from waiting so long Two thumbs down

Everything was great until the girls basketball teams came then we got talked to about being too loud We were laughing at a TV show

Guess that annoyed someone No freezer, have to ask for microwave Pool was dirty with stuff from trees Lounging chairs filled with the same tree stuff and no towels at pool Yet towels were laying everywhere Front desk people were amazing

katie hopper

Very unhappy with the service I reserved a room for my son’s wedding night Tried to pay in advance and was told that they could not let me pay since it was for my son

Sent him the money He tried to set-up an early check-in multiple times (in advance) and was told he would need to call the morning of – when he called they declined an early check in He checked in at the scheduled time and used his card (since I sent him the money) They charged my card When I called, I was told there was nothing they could do It was a very frustrating experience all around and we will not be using them again

Clark Johnson

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff I felt the room to be a big snug, with just the two of us tripping over each other and our belongings CAUTION – Do not expect the hotel restaurant to have good food, because it does NOT

It is mostly empty so corners are cut The food is pre-prepared and then heated up I had some sort of breakfast burrito that was probably the worst thing I have ever eaten It was a concealed clump of eggs, potatoes, and meat Gross The waitress was nice, took it back, and removed it from the bill

Service was awesome Location perfect The rooms themselves, we booked 2, were good but could have been a little cleaner

Corners of rooms were dusty so maybe a little more attention to detail The biggest issue was the lack of hot water for showering It was warm but never got to being “hot” We only stayed one night so it wasn’t a huge deal, got the job done Overall it was a go9d experience

Jodie Hebbard

This is now one of my favourite hotel chains and I can’t wait to visit more of them It’s such a chill vibe, but while maintaining excellent service The staff were so helpful and friendly and of course they are SUPER dog friendly which was amazing

We’ve traveled a lot with our dogs and have never come across a place like this that is so welcoming to the dogs Extra nice touches are the robes and free water bottles The food and drinks at the restaurant were really good as well And the location can’t be beat Right on the river and near all the shops and sights downtown and walking distance to the Saturday market Can’t wait to come back!

Christini Inbetweeni

Wonderful stay! Everyone at the front desk was so, so nice (including, of course, the famous Kennedy mentioned in so many reviews) and generous We loved the location and walked all over the city, which was much needed after eating all the wonderful food available Rooms were clean, towels were brought up within just a couple minutes after I realized we needed a couple more, and the hotel was surprisingly quiet with noise from other rooms

I think one night we heard noise from the room next to or below us, but they had to have been exceptionally loud!Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again! The hotel is lovely but the people here are what really make this such a great place to stay

I didn’t expect to have so much fun! I stayed over NYE and there was a fun party at the bar Nevertheless I was checked in promptly and the staff was super friendly and warm Parking is nonexistent, remember this is downtown of a big city, not a truck stop motel

Rooms are small and perfectly appointed, bathroom was modern and sleek Not sure why other reviewers had issue with toilets being too big? Are they treating it like a recliner? Toilet was normal, lolThe bed was super comfy, and the room was very quiet I do appreciate that

Sammii Dorfler

This hotel is awesome! My new favorite The rooms are minimalistic without skimping on anything Having the food stations inside we super convenient and the food was delicious too

My reasoning for knocking it down a star was the parking situation, I wish they were able to validate or offer something for parking There is a lot right next door making it very accessible but it get super pricey with multiple overnights They also offer fancy coffee drinks in the morning but only able to do regular milk and my lactose intolerant belly didn’t like that but understands

Babak Shalchi

This is a new concept hotel, different from the typical businessman-oriented hotels with their big desks and a variety of cables and mini fridge Rooms are minimalistic but practical and appealing while being compact: there are no mini fridges, with a small desk folded into the wall The whole thing is designed with young active people in mind

Not a great place for families or older couples I’d say

One of the best Best Western I’ve stayed in The hotel is very clean and the staffs are friendly The beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean

We booked the two bed-room suite and was very happy with the layout and how spacious everything was Free coffee in the front lobby is a winI would definitely stay here again when I’m back in town There was free breakfast but due to lack of staff, we received McDonald’s voucher for breakfast Can’t say I can have that for 5 days straight 😏

Mariah West

Absolutely the worst stay! Very upset with how we were treated in dealing with our reservation!I was quoted one thing over the phone and sent and email and paid a different price than quote When my family tried to check in they were told they couldn’t find the reservationWe left for the day and asked for our room to be cleaned and it was not

They advertise breakfast which is also not trueOver all this was a waste of money and truly put a huge frustration on our tripIf you’re looking for a place to stay that cares They simply do notAdvise to anyone looking Don’t waste your time or money here It’s absolutely unnerving how rude they are!

Molly Anderson

I had a wonderful stay Ireland and Amy were so kind and knowledgeable of the area and they both made this stay excellent! The room was beautiful, comfortable, quiet, and clean – keep up the great work! I will definitely be staying here if I’m back in the area!

Here we have a suburban hotel that charges $10 a night to park in the ample lot and 11 dollars for the same breakfast that is included in the price of many other hotels priceThe room was clean enough but the shower design where you have to get in the shower to turn the water on? Really? I have never been a fan of the shower controls being on the opposite end of the shower from the head, it makes the temperature adjustment difficult, but having the fixed glass panel on the end with the head and the controls is a step into the only possible worse configurationThe staff is clearly overwhelmed, not surprising and they really are doing their best, but the broken car window glass in the really really dark covered parking area was there from Day 1 of my stay to Day last

It was a good sized room and generally quiet, except the first night when a dog down the hall was barking for two hours (irresponsible pet owner, not the hotels staffs issue) and the alarm that went off in the middle of a zoom call Its okay but not one of the better places that I have been

jessica Jackson

This a very convenient hotel Right next to Washington square Mall The room was very clean and comfortable

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming The cookies were great too The bed was a little hard for my taste but my gud loved it Our room had a mini fridge, sink, microwave and a couch that pulled out You couldn’t hear traffic outsideThe breakfast buffet was good It was $11, but if I hadn’t had a breakfast credit I Wouldn’t have paid for it I’ve stayed atbither hotels where it was included It was tiu basic pastry, eggs, Bacon, waffles, biscuits and gravy There was no one monitoring it, so I’m sure dishonest people took advantage of that and ate without payingOver all a great hotel!l AC worked great on the 100 degree day

Very nice historical hotel, with all the charm but all the modern features one would expect today We stayed in a King Suite The room was incredibly spacious, and clean

The bed was very comfortable and there were tons of pillows The AC didn’t work as well as we would have liked but the room temp was still comfortable Self parking was available for free and breakfast was delicious with a made to order omelette bar

Tara Henry

Our hotel stay was great, we loved how friendly the staff was and they were quick to respond to our added requests The complimentary cocktail hour could have used more sacks but when your getting free drinks there isn’t much to complain about The complimentary breakfast was great, with made to order eggs/omelets it was definitely good

Only negative we have is that the parking prices were steep and the parking garage was not well secured, we felt uncomfortable walking there at night due to the plethora or homeless hanging out

Jennifer R

I was the primary meeting planner and event coordinator for a meeting at this hotel and they were SO excellent Mary, the event planner that I primarily worked with and spoke to prior to my arrival in Portland, was exemplary and I am so appreciative for all her help In fact, I didn’t speak to a single employee of the hotel that wasn’t extremely helpful and friendly

The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms were spacious and clean My meeting attendees had a great time and were very complimentary of the hotel and staff as well I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again as a guest (for personal travels) and my organization would certainly consider hosting another meeting at this hotel if/when we return to Portland

This hotel is the remnants of a long gone booming business district Our stay was fine but someone was knocking on our door at twelve noon on the dot, which is checkout time We had told the night crew that we needed a late check out which would be 1:00 p

m but somebody was promptly knocking at our door at noon asking “hey do you need to let check out” There weren’t any shampoo, conditioners, or lotions which I was personally counting on because I had to pack light I wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately

America Yea

The only detractor that we had during our stay were some rowdy kids next door on our first night, the front desk was even willing to try talking to them for us We were able to switch rooms the second night of our stay and had an overall fantastic night on our second night here The beds and rooms were comfortable and the service was excellent and friendly throughout even the cleaners were friendly

The only downsides were some very minor work the rooms needed(squeaky hinges on a few doors etc) and the front desk assured us that would be finished before the next person stayed in our first room where we noticed the minor problems and reported them There were fairly good decorations and a rather nice television in each room we stayed One thing I would recommend to the company to improve on is the internet service package layout, once you are logged in as a guest(should have logged in via a login as we already payed for the internet) on the cellphone you cannot log out to change your internet plan nor find the login page from the website for the hotel easily only one of us was able to use the upgraded internet I’m sure we could have gone to the front desk with this but it was 11am and none of us wanted to go that farOverall we had a fantastic stay and will almost certainly stay here again if we need to travel to Portland in the future

It was a great weekend spending time with friends and going to a concert The room was perfect, the whole staff was super helpful, valet, the gentleman running breakfast, the nice lady at the front desk and the amenities are super nice Unfortunately there were just a couple hiccups, my door lock battery died and the room climate controls weren’t working properly

No big fuss though The staff was able to assist when possible The biggest concern is getting these nice folks more help Seemed everyone was running each dept alone Overall, had a great time and loved being downtown

This probably our first and last time staying at this hotel, and will really affect future consideration of Hilton hotels even with my Hilton membership Check-in receptionist not polite and really started our stay with a very uncomfortable vibe, sadly Did not greet us as guests when check-in, couldnt even hear what he said clearly and showed no desire to provide info about our stay, couldn’t answer billing questions (what included in charges/hold at check-in) & again showed no desire to assist us

Also did not wear name tag like other staff, which we had to ask for name When we came to ask to manager, he was right next there and gave us a not nice look as we left after asking manager about credit card charged We have never experienced such bad customer service and an uneasy, unsafe feeling at a hotel, somewhere we should feel safe Couldn’t sleep at ease so up writing a review for management improvement We understand people may have good & bad days at work We’re always nice & courteous to all service staff knowing the hard work they put in, but standard service & sense of safety is expected We paid for a park & stay room rate, and again confused when got an emailed bill for $55 valet parking (yes very pricey parking option but we opted to that rather than public/street parking for safety reasons) The valet guy and manager Raymond were nice though Other than that the room is fine, toilet is pretty compact though (with visible water damage/stain on ceiling) Very close to restaurants and things to do in downtown so you can walk to many places

The K Green Show

The Hilton Portland Downtown is standard fair from a room standpoint in a high rise hotel that had 23 floors That meaning that the rooms are expected to be small and give the basic accommodations of a bed, a chair, and a small desk for the price and had the largest tv in a room I have ever had My room was clean, and the bathroom looked refreshed with hair dryer and plenty of water pressure and too hot sink hot water, although the room could have used some maintenance for the small things like pulled out towel and toilet paper holders

I liked the bed feel, the pillows, and the sheets as it leaned towards being a softer bed The cleaning staff was friendly and they do come by each day without being asked like other covid savings of late Front desk folks were helpful and the hotel has a restaurant in side of it, Hop-City The lobby area is nice looking and has ample seating for meandering about, drinking, eating, waiting for your ride I liked that a lot The conference areas were good and sized to handle many hundreds of people easily Not sure if the conference food was provided by hotel to which I think it was but some of those choices could be questioned like serving cold cafeteria chicken breasts that were meant to be hot But even those servers were nice Large area out front for share riding and taxis Working escalators and fast elevators The area around the hotel was in a nice section of downtown and only 2 or 3 blocks up front the light rail from the airport which only costs 3 bucks to get you there to the Pioneer Square stop

After checking out, there was a charge in my bank account of a couple hundred dollars I called the hotel and asked why I was being charged and they said it was because there was an ironing board, iron, and pillow missing from the room They accused me of stealing the items and had footage of me and my husband checking into the hotel but conveniently “couldn’t find the footage of us checking out”

There’s no way I could fit an ironing board in my over night bag along with an iron and pillow I called the hotel manager and explained the situation and they only agreed to give me $50 back If you don’t want to get accused of stealing, I would find another hotel to stay at

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any hotel They compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is the best rated in this area

I’ve been staying here for a very long time If you decide to stay here you for sure won’t be disappointedWe had an early flight into Portland and called the hotel when I landed (like they told me to when I called earlier in the week) and they put us in a room that was ready when we arrived at 10am! Super helpful staff Clean and definitely worth the cost

I’ve stayed here in the past and had a great experience But that was 5 years ago This time was awful

We needed a place to stay while we were selling our house and had our open house The first night, the keys didn’t work to the first room they gave us, so they gave us another room This room was on the first floor and was very dirty The sink had grime all around it, the shower head was falling out, there was black hair in the tub and I’m pretty sure it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time House keeping only comes if you call and request and they do bare minimum, they didn’t even change our sheets even though I had requested that Oh and the whole first floor reeked of pot the whole time We booked three nights and only stayed two Avoid this hotel if staying in the area Go to the Marriott down the road It’s worth the extra money!!

My wife and I along with our 8month old boy were visiting from the Spokane area so some of my family could meet our new son We chose the Monarch because of the reviews and recommendations With that and a brief review of the site I thought we would really like staying there

However I was wrong We called a couple days ahead to see if we could get early check in since our flight was early and we wanted to get a nap in for the kid The lady who answered told us to call back the morning of She was not very helpful nor did she seem to care to help us Something about “being very busy” Then the morning of before our short 45min flight I myself called and was again greeted by a very impatient and rude lady Who looked up my reservation and told me in a very annoyed manner that we would be good to check in when we arrived to the Portland area We drove straight there (1-1/2 after the phone call) and we’re told there is no way we could check in for a few more hours Thankfully I had family close by that were able to leave work for us to have some where to go A few hours later when we did finally get to check in (after 3pm) we asked if they could provide us with a pack and play We also called ahead on this We were greeted with a poor attitude and very lack luster effort to get us one In the end after our third time requesting to receive one, we were given one that was broken but all they could give usNow one to the room The room was very out dated Was very small and was nothing like the pictures online The bathroom area was not clean and with the previous issue of getting ahold of house keeping (pack and play issue) my wife decided to clean it herself because our son needed a bath The bathroom fan was operable but the casing was broken There was something splashed on the wall that left a gross residueIf we weren’t spending most of our time out of the room and we didn’t book through a third party I would have refused the room If the hotel wasn’t booked due to a school district event I would have demanded a room swapOver all the only thing not disappointing was the beds I would not recommend this place to anyone I’m typically pretty lenient on the service industry but this was all due to lack of effort I took a chance to try and not stay at a big chain hotel and I will not be making that mistake again

The hotel was a little difficult to find Apple Maps took us to the back side of the hotel All of the staff was very helpful and friendly

This hotel is in a good location with lots of things within walking distance The room was nice and clean and quiet Valet parking is an additional charge so keep that in mind while booking You are able to text the valet or dial 0 to have your car brought around when you are ready to leave which is a nice touch They have a QR code on the key envelope which lists all the things within walking distance as well as a menu of a place that does room service

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking a room This website will compare hundreds of hotel sites and typically will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! You’re welcome :)! This resort is one of the best in this area

I want to acknowledge the staff at this lovely location They went the extra mile On top of that, a special thank you to Robert Petrie and his staff for making numerous attempts to return an expensive apple product when left in the room

He really demonstrated heightened efforts to make sure it was returned I highly recommend this hotel for the warm and caring employees Thank you!

We were on our first road trip from E coast to W Coast

We had never stayed at a B&B before We were reluctant to contact any B&B But it was almost like the Hand of God put us here at the “Clackamas River House Bed & Breakfast” We were amazed and I must say very blessed to have been in the company and care of these Guardian Angels After arriving, it took only a few minutes to let our guard down and enjoy the beautiful, peaceful, ” Piece of Paradise” that God had literally dropped us into The home was great, the food was great, and Marc and Suzi were great I can’t find one thing negative about this stay Except they have set an remarkable standard for what we will expect from other B&B’s in the future Thanks for all you do to make every one’s stay with you, an unforgettable moment in time Sincerely, Michael & Sharon Teague

My 4 year old Son & I came across this little gem when the one hotel in Sandy Oregon was booked I am extremely glad that we did The owners were extremely welcoming & had a lot of patience with my excited & overly tired child lol

The house was cozy, the breakfast was delicious & the back yard was the icing on the cake I absolutely LOVE the backyard I felt like I was back in Oahu in an oasis of sorts I had a great time chatting with both Mark & Susie I was beyond impressed to find out that Mark had done all of the landscaping & wood work himself I could go on and on We had a great time & I would highly recommend I plan on staying again whenever I am in the area Thank you so much !

Marc and Susie at the Clackamas River House saved us!Best accident ever! Me and my partner were having dinner and some drinks at a bar across the bridge, after an adventure floating the river from Barton, when we realized we missed our last chance to bus back to pdx!No lyfts/ubers in the area, we frantically searched for nearby spots to crash to avoid sleeping on the riverbank overnightClackamas River House looked like our only walkable option!I called and spoke with Marc, who was able to book us and have a room ready in under 30 minutes! Boy were we relievedWhen we arrived, we would have been more than fine with anything a step above a sandy shore, but were welcomed with so much more than we could’ve hoped for!The friendliest most welcoming hosts in the Portland area, (been here for 7+yrs) Susie even let us use her phone charger overnight

Talk about hospitality! When we got to our room on the ground floor, we found the most comfortable bed ever, seriously like sleeping on a giant pillow! In the morning we got the jacuzzi going to cool off from the record breaking heat and joined the hosts and other guests for breakfastSo delicious! They were very inclusive with their food options as well, offering any dietary accommodationsLots of fresh fruit, pancakes, crispy perfectly cooked bacon, and a cheesy bell pepper egg scramble with plenty of fresh coffee, all served outside in the wonderfully dreamy gardenSo impressed to learn that all the woodworking was done by Marc himself! Gorgeous spacesCannot wait to come back for another adventure!Izze and Suzy ❤️

One of the better Courtyards I’ve stayed at The main lobby was very spacious and had many lounge sofas and the interior was decorated beautifully I was surprised this location didn’t have a pool which I was looking forward to use

The 24hr gym has decent amount of equipments and was well kept I was surprised there was even a bike trail behind the hotel which I made use of The trail cut thru the forest behind the hotel so it was a nice quiet place away from city noise

Wolfgang’s Mom

I am a traveling nurse I started with 4 other nurses I showed up, on a Sunday and was unable to lock in a price for nurses

Was told to speak to the manager J Paul, the next day He offered me $149 a night, or whatever price was on the website, for that day My stay for Sunday was $116, the next next it was $150 Aqua, the check in lady, said it would be lower than $113 for the rest of my stay Another, younger, better looking nurse got a rate of $113, for the same contract, that I am working We are 5 women, that wanted to stay together, but he was not about to help us, as we traveled to his town, to help out his communityThe was no breakfast, for $149, no muffin, no juice My shower didn’t drain My TV turned off, every few hours, to reboot I had a great view, in the back, of the homeless, living in the woods If you want a different view, get a room in the front Stains on the chair and bedspread Housekeeping entered my room, without knockingThey charge high prices, for motel 6 qualityThe other nurse, left the same day as myself We are now at a Hilton property, for much less, with nicer rooms and free breakfastI am letting all my fellow travel nurses know, avoid the Marriott They don’t like nurses

Katie Anderson

The service was kind, the place was clean, and it slept us all My only reason for 3 stars is that I had booked a king with a separate seating area, shown with a door dividing This is perfect for our family

They seemingly just put us in any room, asking if we had a floor preference, and we ended up in a standard king No privacy for the kiddo, and no reduction in charges

We were in town as we were working the Tigard Festival and needed a place close by and clean We had exactly that It was very nice

The check in was easy, they put us in the room we requested without issues, and were very friendly The weekend was very quiet the hours we were there to sleep The amenities were very nice as well It’s what I’d expect from a Marriott

I usually love staying at Marriotts, but I did not find this one great on the inside- somewhat outdated Looks wonderful on the outsideMy TV did not work, no service, my clock had the wrong time, late into the night and early in the morning I could hear people walking upstairs and at 10 pm – 11 there was a party in the hallway and then into the room next door with lots of male voices

It stopped a little after 11 when I turned on my phone to listen to a video after not being able to sleepThe only reason why I gave it a 2star is because they gave me a slight discount when I reported that I had no TVcable service
