Loved this hotel The rooms are clean, spacious, and updated There’s a peaceful outdoor seating area, and a park with a beautiful duck pond behind the hotel

Theres a nice breakfast buffet in the morning with a wide variety of options There was a little confusion at the check in with my reservation, and the pool water was milky, but there were a ton of kids swimming in it so that’s probably why

Lynn Dee

Spent 1 Saturday night with the kids (12y, 8y, 4y) as a surprise and we had the best time From the first phone call to make the reservation was beyond pleasant and informative, very nice woman (I think was the day manager?) When we arrived the Front Desk staff were busy with a large party Check In (High School sports team?) but not frazzled or overwhelmed and were friendly to everyone, including us after that long wait in line We asked for a late check out the next morning so the kids had more swim time and it wasn’t a problem

The building and room was clean The refrigerator in our room was great kept all our food and beverages nice and cold! Most mini fridges are subpart Breakfast was fresh and hot, kids loved it The pool was nice, the hot tub was a bit too hot for the kids At one point we had the pool to ourselves, I would have liked to have had a skimmer to use, but it is a public pool! Everything was overall a good timeI would have given 5 Stars ⭐But there was an incident with the Fire AlarmIt went off about 9pm (we later found out the cause was the heat and steam from the pool area that sounded the alarm)But there was a bit of chaos with all the guests spilling into the hallways frightened There was no overhead announcement for direction on where to go or gather from Hotel staff or Fire Department to restore calmness Even when many know what to do or where to go during a Fire Alarm To proceed to an Exit, down the stairs and outside, but when panic ensues that’s when things can go from bad to worse quickly with a stairwell full of scared people scrambling to get outAll turned out OK, obviously, however an announcement for Direction and finally an ‘All Clear’ would have been appreciated for my family and all the Hotel guests

Freda B

Keep in mind that I work in construction Since I got back from work yesterday 6/3 around 8pm, there has been no hot water The water is icy cold

The front desk didn’t inform anyone about the issue I went to the front desk around 10pm to ask and they said “someone has been fixing it for about 2 1/2 hr”8:36am 6/4 and there’s still no hot water I went back to the front desk this morning, now they’re saying “someone is on their way to fix it” Thought someone was here yesterday to fix it? One would expect hot water 24/7 especially if you’re paying almost $200/ night on weekends I had to cancel the remaining days of my reservation and find another hotel

It’s was a very bad experience Never in my life will I recommend this hotel Very dirty

Like sheets, front desk isn’t even willing to come up and bring new ones AND there isn’t much breakfast options No cream cheese or butter for bagels and no water as a drink option This hotel isn’t great at all I don’t know what all these good reviews are from but they really aren’t what I felt at that hotel You do you but I’m warning you it’s a terrible hotel

Timothy White

Woeful customer service Everyone there needs to take a course in hospitality and descalation strategies Reported to BBB, will also report to franchise owner, and emailed Hilton admin team as well as a few directors that were able to be found online

Avoid staying here unless you would like to be harassed Also the outside of the hotel is falling apart as the pictures will show They have yellow caution tape and you cannot walk in many areasIt was nice of you to respond Kimberly There was no middle ground to be met with you I asked for a refund, you refused as stated by many other reviews You could not and would not descalate the situation And then you accused me of stealing from the military All in all it was a terrible experience and I’m sure after reading this review and many others pertaining to yourself, people will think twice about staying there Hilton graciously offered points, and other ways to accommodate myself after these atrocious accommodations All that is fine, however I have moved forward with my BBB complaint and I will be emailing the franchisee owner later today about my experience It apparently isn’t the first time you have ruined someone’s stay

We were very happy with our recent stay Kayla at the front desk was great Her customer service skills are top notch

The beds were a little hard, but that’s the only thing that wasn’t perfect The comforters and really comfortable pillows made up for itThe complimentary breakfast was wonderful No cutbacks due to Covid! We’ll definitely be back!

Kim Beatty

Can’t wait to return! Such a nice place The room was small but very comfortable and had everything we needed Very clean

Pool was spectacular Shirt but very fun stay Tons of stores and restaurants nearby Best part was the breakfast, do it yourself waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, omelets, sausage All free!! Staff was very pleasant and courteous

Lisa Wyble

We chose the first floor, king size bed room We brought our fur person, of whom is not spoiled beyond a child ;), and it was magnificent The connecting door does amplify sound of drunks at 3 am, but overall I’m going back as often as i can

Great staff, service, amenities, lots to eat/do around the hotel The breakfast was fresh and really good, waffles for us and sausage for the fuzzy man YOU CAN BRING YOUR DOG! Seriously, your dog needs to behave and have basic training, don’t be that person

This property provides excellent customer service in a clean and inviting atmosphereWhen we arrived there was a challenge with my payment instead of acting like it was a big deal the desk staff was pleasant, patient and accommodating Once resolved the lady at the desk checked us in quickly and efficiently

She provided water, cookies, spa information, local restaurants plus details about breakfast at the hotelThe restaurant Char has wonderful food, if a bit pricey The host and wait staff are friendly They make you feel welcome and special We stayed for five days and Megan worked three of those, she remembered the table we wanted plus how we liked our coffeeThe evening front desk staff always had water and fresh baked cookies when we returned after a day of exploring What a lovely way to end a dayThe property itself is decorated with a modern feel and beautifully maintained gardens The hotel hosted multiple events (a wedding, a company meeting and an anniversary party) with no disruption to other guestsThe rooms were clean and well stocked The only challenge was that while clean the chemicals used for the elevators was strong and unpleasantWe would definitely recommend this property and will stay again when we are in the area

Xavi Otero

Lack of maintenance elevator forces hotel staff to constantly use both guest elevators to move stuff up and down, creating long waits for guests to get to their rooms, or the rooftop venue Toilet paper is cheapest available Breakfast is not included

Room is dated and balcony has cracks on the floorNow the good: Staff is friendly and professional Room was clean Good place to stay if the only thing you need is a comfortable bed

Kimber Saint-Preux

The room was not up to par, unfortunately the furniture was dirty and the room was not clean after requesting cleaning services This was not the real disappointment unfortunately the management at this location could care less Ryan (Assistant Manager) called my room on a phone that I reported broken and did not call back the cell phone as requested

When I contacted him because he did not call back his attitude was rude and truly unprofessional I am a Diamond member and truly this is not the level of service i am use to when traveling and staying atHilton hotels and resorts A huge disappointed in this experience I was dealing with the death of my aunt whose funeral I was attending, Having the Manager be so rude and careless when I requested to share my experience was very disheartening

I just had my daughter’s baby shower in the ballroom It was just beautiful and perfect in every aspect Danielle Hughes, the Event Coordinator, was fantastic to work with, and the entire staff set everything up perfectly and everyone was great to work with

Danielle was so patient with all of my questions leading up to the event and paid attention to every detail The food was awesome as well So happy to have held this special event there Kudos to all – especially Danielle!

Firstly checking in was bizarre- we had to have a hold put on our cards for $250 on top of the room we booked This was done on a card we had used to book with but was declined for the $51176 so we were charged a partial payment of $256

76 (Newlyweds and did not account for additional available funds) I then used another credit card and was told the initial payment did not go through This was incorrect and after being charged $46146 on a different credit card we spoke to the front desk in the morning The original $25676 was released but another charge appeared on the second card for $21146 yesterday and I have still not been refunded from the original $46146 even though we have called to speak to the managersWe booked this hotel as a nontraditional route to stay close by for a concert In total we had 1,17968 of authorizations placed on our credit cards for a SINGLE nights stay!We also heard the steakhouse was excellent and the in house bar was attractive to us when we agreed to book this room However none of those amenities were available as we stayed on a Sunday night The hotel room was very small, clean but did not offer any accommodations for meal preparations as descripted onlineWe did not feel invited by staff during our stay, the hotel was strange, quiet and uninviting We will not be back

Todd Goho

For $300/night I would give the hotel 2 stars Beautiful historic lobby and the location is good The fireplace in the room was nice

The room ‘suite’ had a lot of wasted space, there was only one bathrobe, the mattress was not what I expected for a ‘luxury’ hotel (hard) and bed squeaked and headboard slammed against the wall whenever you moved in the bed The neighbors probably thought there were extracurriculars going on all night The TV was very small for the space and tucked in an armoire When you booked the hotel online, you had to call the hotel and tell them whether you want to fireplace or a dinette in your room It’s one, or the other, but it’s not an option online??? Finally, we were unable to eat at the hotel because because I did not make a reservation 4 days in advance Upon checking out, not even a ‘how was your stay’ or ‘thank you for styling with us’ For $300/night we’ll stay elsewhere

The experience was awfulThe evening clerk was completely indifferentThe room was dirty, the bed sheets were stained

We had to get new ones, and change them ourselvesThere was a dirty sock on the floor from a previous occupant, the ice machine was out-of-order, there was no sanity bag for the ice bucket, and to top it all off, a used towel was hanging on the door hook in the bathroomOn a good note, Phil (GM), Alessandro, and Jane from the morning crew were extremely professional and accommodating The morning crew obviously cares a lot more about the customer experience They are solely responsible for turning a 1-star review to a 3-star review

Catherine Luo

Free parking and wifi Breakfast was quite expensive (~$9-11/person) and so was the coffee, but I would recommend the egg, cheese, and bacon quesadilla if you’re looking for the most bang-for-your-buck, filling option Quiet place, very spacious rooms

Had a really great sleep Nicer-than-expected indoor swimming pool Gym was quite good too, with 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 biking machine, and a set of weights

Lindsay Cesari

Spent the night with kids for a mini getaway We had the pool to ourselves – it was in good condition and felt clean, but the advertised hot tub has been tiled over Staff was friendly and helpful, but the condition of the room was questionable

Massive water leak in the ceiling had led to bubbling and peeling paint on one wall Holes in other walls were patched but not painted Bed was ok, but pull out couch in suite was almost unbearable for 9 year old Room feels like it might be ready for an update

Stayed at the Hilton Garden in for a night and overall we were happy with our experience The rooms were ok Large and spacious

It was really quiet There is a dining/bar downstairs that had good food and drinks The only suggestion I would make is the parking garage doesn’t give very good direction after you park where to actually enter the building Kind of confusing

Jeffrey Scarlett

Stayed for a week in a suite It was large and clean The bed was very hard though! The front desk staff were very friendly people

However, housekeeping was nonexistent The entire stay they only came once They took the trash I placed near the door, did not dump the cans, did not make the beds nor straighten anything else up I did get a clean set of towels The area was very convenient to everything and they had a good restaurant/bar called Drifters Overall my stay was very nice I just wish housekeeping was a bit more attentive

Chow Greanya

So very disappointed First time staying in a Hilton and I expected so much more than an ordinary motel room Ordinary mattress and bed covering, ordinary pillows, ordinary towels, wrinkled sheets, smallish room

No extra sitting room space and only two chairs, a desk chair and an easy chair On a positive note, service was good We were given after requested, two extra luggage racks, extra towels, coffee pods and tp Breakfast was good if a bit pricey and those serving were friendly and helpful

At first glance it’s great But when u look closer not so great The toilet handle was broken

It worked but it was still broken The shower head sprayed water in all direction The hot water took a bit to get hot There was a kitchenette but only 2 pots , no pan and one of the pots was rusty Also the microwave was dirty and needed to be washed We stayed 2 nights and no one came in to clean up ie change the towels and trash While we were there The bed was horrible u sunk into it Definitely needs some work

Angela Medcalf

Depends on the time of year you stay I’ve been staying up there for my daughters medical needs at the University for a few yrs now The hotel seems hit or miss on quality

Depending on the staff working It’s a sketchy area Keep your doors locked obviously Homeless wander and beg for money The police do patrol regularly, which is slightly more comforting

gxj37

Newly built hotel, extremely clean 3 minutes walk to St Mary’s hospital The front desk is very friendly

Yuka nicely switched us from a room with a king bed to another one with a double queen The price is also reasonable The only minus is the shortage of parking We choose to pay for indoor parking for convenience Highly recommended overall

The hotel staff was fantastic, we were coming back from our outing and getting snacks with the wife and kids A gentleman from the hotel said there goes my beautiful family The experience was amazing and the guy from the hotel gave us a discount on all snacks saying how we are such a nice family

Thank you for an amazing experience I will definitely be coming back

NICKY SMITH

Our first time back since the pandemicGreat and helpful staff (we will miss Rachel)Disappointed that pets are now allowed in the hotel!Further dissappointed pets were allowed on ALL floors! At check in, we were advised pets were only on the first and second floors

Unfortunately, this will be our last stay at the Homewood Suites by HiltonWe’ve enjoyed staying at this location for over a decade! We were advised that the nightly reception was reduced from 4 nights to only one This was a nice perk that is no longer available which is disappointing

Kai Carlo Pennica

I want to give this place a better review than I am going to I waited for them to do the right thing

There is construction being done for remodeling of rooms, that was fine so I thought, because it was on a different level The construction crew however had their set up with sawing and such in the parking lot outside my window That wouldn’t have been the end of the world, but they also were blasting their music with heavy bass and beat making it impossible to take a nap or sleep after long hours of travel I went and told the front desk, and I asked them to stop the music and to compensate me a day off my stay due to no sleep The lady agreed and I went back to my room to try and rest The music carried on into my room still, when that continued I requested a room change They did so On my check out there was no room compensation though, when I asked the front desk to talk to the manager they asked me to take a card because she was in a meeting The next day after traveling I called and was met with the same front desk staff refusing to put me on the phone with the manager and acting as a go between She offered honor points instead of the room compensation I called corporate and still have yet to hear back I am extremely disappointed in this type of customer service and will now be really second thinking ever staying at another Hilton establishment in the future You should not treat a customer so lackluster

5 day stay for me I assume now maybe you’d have to request clean towels and to have your room serviced as it was not automatically done during my stay I’m a clean person so it didn’t bother me too much and I purchased my own towels a few days in

The manager Susan was awesome There was not any work my last day there I called the front desk to try to get a late checkout due to being so tired and having a later flight She was able to accommodate me I was very grateful and that meant a lotThey have complimentary tea and coffee when you arrive I did not do breakfast there Rooms were nice I like Marriotts because there windows open (if only a little) Thanks Susan!!! She so nice

Cory Clark

Great location, great room, and amazing staff I really wanted to give 5 stars, however, I had to be fair on my review I took a star off for the dirty pull out sofa bed, some lights out in the bathroom area, and cob webs in the corner

This has been the best hotel we stayed at our week long road trip vaca Will def rebook if back in the area!

Staff was very, very nice Rooms are a little dated but in good condition and clean In room kitchen cookware, utensils we’re minimally stocked

One of the breakers in our room was tripped so TV and other outlets weren’t working but I tracked that down quickly enough The gym has some decent equipment, some need repair Pool was nice but the water seemed a bit murky and could have been warmer I would recommend some improvements to the breakfast Same thing every day (eggs, turkey sausage patties, bagels, scones, oatmeal, yogurt, cold cereal, juice) No waffle maker Not many dairy or gluten free options No dairy-free milk Wouldn’t mind a switchup in the hot breakfast items

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here The staff alone get a 5 star rating They were the most genuine and caring group of people

Every single person that worked the front desk and breakfast during our three day stay, went above and beyond They were friendly, helpful and truly wanted us to have a great experience If anything else, you should stay here simply for the staff Our suite was clean and was perfect for our family of 5 Our kids really enjoyed the pool and sitting by the fireplace to warm-up after swimming We will definitely be back!

Fantastic hotel and even better location We are originally from Rochester and have always stayed with family but now after staying here we will probably opt for hotel stays going forward If there is a god, Bianca is gods gift to the hospitality industry

She is lovely and has made our stay a joy The staff is all very friendly and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here- especially with all the great restaurants nearby!

This hotel experience was amazing Bianca and Keith were wonderful, funny, and professional The room was clean and the bed was comfortable

The location near the University offers a multitude of dining and shopping options Only a 7 minute drive to Rochester International so a good choice for a layover or overnight stay for an early flight Thanks Hilton for a great stay

Amazing hotel Hal at the front desk was awesome, and all of their receptionist were nice and helpful Definitely visit grappa, the restaurant inside

The gym and pool were nice, and the room was nice and clean The one downfall I can say, which I never addressed with staff as it wasn’t a hindrance to me, is that one of my pillows had a small spot of blood on it But I didn’t need it so i just threw it on my other bed

Quality seems too have downgraded since my stay last summer Pool hours are not ideal Open at 2pm one day and 4pm another day

Pool closing early on mondays Promotions being discontinued but we’re actively ongoing at time of booking Promotion was given but a hassle to inform staff at time of check in Was told by a member of management I could get other cookie flavors with my pizza package and then the next night was told I was stuck with chocolate chip cookies Not a bad experience but not a great one either Normally I have a amazing experience at RIT this time I was just disappointed

We stayed at this location due to my mil having to have a heart procedure at strong memorial The shuttle service was great and the resturant was good But other than that our room was a nightmare

We had a plugged sink, a tv that the volume would not go below 22 as well as a toilet that would not flush properly We where there for three night and they came to deal with our toilet at least three time a day The service technicam asked to have our room moved and they told him there were noother rooms It was very stressful having to deal with this on top of mymil being in the hospital Not to mention if you needed room service just for towels etc you had to call This was convenient for the hospital but as far as the hotelitself, i would tellpeople to be ware

Pros: Reasonably priced, clean rooms, friendly and efficient staff, parking was fine, close to amenities, and the pool was enjoyableCons: The beds were awful My toddler and I slept in one double bed, and my husband slept in another double bed, and both were very uncomfortable

I’m not sure if the mattresses were old, or not padded enough, or I don’t know, but they were not good We both woke up with our backs hurting in the morning
