We traveled from the Gulf Coast across the nation to Carmel’s beautiful Ranch & Spa Although it was a holiday weekend and the following week off for students, the Ranch did not feel crowded I love how sprawling the property is
We enjoyed our breakfasts there along with the fitness facility and fire pits Our 1 bedroom had a stunning view overlooking their vineyards and organic gardens The mattress was incredibly comfortable, in fact I’m trying to buy the very one for my home The location is awesome My traveling pal took advantage of the spa and enjoyed a deep tissue massage The amenities were fabulous too by the way! The concierge helped us map out the 17 Mile Drive which did not disappoint! And their honey is killer!!! This is a must go to destination So treat yo-self!!!!

Fantastic experience Gated resort area with hotel at higher elevation, approximately one mile from the local road and with views of the valley Rooms with balconies, large bathrooms, gas-fireplace, walking trails, and various other amenities
Excellent for couples, although I did see a fair amount of families at the resort as well (a plus or a minus, depending on your vacation) Excellent staff Did observe some kids in the ‘adults only’ sections We were gifted a bottle of wine from the on-site winery when we checked in (alas, it had turned) Early check-in and late check-out Highly recommend

Good hotel Good staff! Love the areaNot happy with Hilton as I am a Diamond member I have not been given late checkouts over 12:30
I travel from hotel to hotel and usually need a late checkout to be able not to float before check in at the next hotel It should be at least 2:00 for lte check outs I am thinking it is time to go to another chain with more flexibility
pepito pepito
this was my first stay here and although the property is starting to show it’s age, it was clean and roomy nonetheless front desk at the time of my check in wassuper helpful Starbucks next door was a nice, conveniently located near an off-ramp
in addition, not many eatery within walking distance though all in all, would highly recommend it just booked two nights in June on my upcoming spartan race in Monterey

Came here for business and was impressed! Room was big and everything was good Bed was good the only reason why not 5 stars is because the pillows I had to buy my own but other than that it was nice breakfast had good options, was very quiet
Pool was under renovation which seems to be the theme these days with all hotels but I was too busy to care Staff was great as well! They also have overnight security that’s kind of required for Salinas!
Valerie Perez
Customer service was excellent I called early asking if we could get into our room earlier than check-in and they called me when it was ready Super friendly & helpful staff
We stayed in the 1 bedroom suite and it was clean and large The breakfast was good & the breakfast area was nice, clean, and well organized I normally stay in higher end hotels but this seemed like the nicest hotel in the area and I was impressed with how nice it was!
Dawn Stern
The value for money is way off Service and staff very sweet Accommodations under construction so pool and gym closed
Hotel is loud Could hear snoring and bathroom visits through walls But, to raise the price nearly double over Memorial Day weekend is unconscionable especially when elevator was broken, construction noise began early and hotel wasn’t finished with renovations My husband is a veteran and we could’ve used some peace and quiet this weekend but it wasn’t to be found here

First impression was jaw dropping! Beautiful and comfy lobby with spacious hang out spots, the staff is VERY accommodating, even the janitors on site were so sweet The room was very clean and cozy, our favorite was our private patio with the ocean view! Lots of activities during the day then at night we sat around the bonfire as we watched the sunset with other families! The restaurant on site was perfect, we got a lot to eat/drink and there was nothing we didn’t like! It was all great! Woke up to breakfast in bed before we put an end to our mini vacation We have found our go to spot! We never even had to leave the property everything you need is on site
We will be looking into having our wedding here 2023💗

Absolutely LOVE this place! This was my boyfriend and my second stay here The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly Rooms are private and well kept
Their cottages are very intimate Love the robes in the rooms The dining at their restaurant Salt Wood is exceptional! 10/10 recommend this place it is forever going to be our romantic getaway spot Thank you for our wonderful experience!

My husband and I were married here right on the beach, so it will always be a special place for us We’ve been looking for an opportunity to get away this summer, but with conflicting work schedules and family commitments, we are only able to stay one night The property is undeniably beautiful
We enjoyed the escape from the heat of the value and the views of the beach I love how they do fire pits on the beach each night Our room itself was fine Next time I think I’ll go for the suite because the room was a bit small for my liking I don’t like that there are not thermostats, so it’s difficult to keep a consistent temperature The bath tub was extremely slippery, but it did look as if there was a nonslip mat provided We did have one major disappointment My husband and I love a good, hot tub This is a huge thing we look for when traveling At home we keep our hot tub around 102° comfortably When we arrived in the afternoon, the hot tub was an okay temperature maybe a little cold for our taste, but when we decided to go again later in the evening it was a miserable experience The “cottages” are quite spread out, and it was freezing that evening! We fast walked our way to the hot tub and got right in only to realize the hot tub cool to the touchprobably around 85° Now soaking wet we froze our a**es off getting back to our room We were super disappointed and cold! In the morning I called to the front desk to double check that we didn’t go in after hours by mistake and to make sure it was hot in the morning They said it was good to go, but when we checked in the morning it was still cold 🙁 That was a huge bummer for us I’m not sure if it was a maintenance issue or if the cold outside weather and windchill was making it too cold Regardless, paying $500 for a basic room should at least include a hot tub that can stay hot I’d love to come back for the views and memories, but honestly, I probably won’t unless they fix the hot tub issue

It was a great little modern/updated hotel Limited breakfast, but had fruits and such and an espresso machine in lobby Nice design and comfy sheets
Easy walking access to the many Moss Landing businesses and restaurants in town Very good food in town Breakfast burritos at Phil’s Snack Shack and Lemongrass restaurant for Thai cuisine, neither should be over-looked A little walk will provide you with easy access to the beach and many wildlife views including sea lions and otters
Mary Gonzalez
Enjoyed our one-night stay The room was clean, bright and large The staff were all friendly and accommodating
Anne at the front desk was very friendly and sincere Our mission was to leave town for the noisy 4th of July, fireworks, but unfortunately someone decided to let off some fireworks across the street, in the cemetery at 2:30 am, but that was no fault of the InnWe’ll definitely come back for another stay
Samantha Alexander
Great little place right off of highway 1! Super clean and our room was very comfortable and spacious (regular king bed) The towels were great and the bedding was quality downThe only things to take note of is it isn’t right off the beach, although it’s only a short drive (5 minutes if that) away and it is close to the highway so you can hear cars
I enjoy background noise and it’s not honking and city car sounds, so I wouldn’t call that a downside, but if you need complete silence to sleep, maybe bring ear plugs

The hotel is clean and beds are very comfortable Breakfast was great They have cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins, eggs, sausage, and diy waffles Larry and Raul’s service at the front desk were top notch Our travel receipts have to be done a very specific way and they worked with us multiple times to make sure everything was correct for our reimbursements I highly recommend this place

After staying at the Howard Johnson’s on John Street, which is a Grand Dump and completely disgusting, a few weeks before for my stay at this Best Western, l didn’t expect to much When I walked into this Best Western l was blown away It was beautiful, fresh, and clean
It exceded my expectations of what I normally expect in a quality hotel The service was fantastic Ginger at the front desk is absolutely awesome She’s super friendly, professional, and kind It was Memorial Day holiday weekend and most of the hotels were sold out Ginger went above and beyond when she was able to help my family members that booked a room over at the Howard Johnson’s They we’re completely disgusted, upset, and refused to stay there She was able to get them a room at this Best Western They were over joyed I loved every minute of my stay The free breakfast is absolutely great I’m talking scrambled eggs, bacon, sausageso much veriety There’s a fantastic pool I really didn’t want to go home I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Salinas area

Way too expensive for what it actually is! Dirty damp rooms with no professional people working here at all Front desk young girl needs much more training She and her friend who worked the food counter where jumping around and acting like they were at recess in the lobby when they thought no one was around
Must be high Marriott needs to sell this place to motel 6 JUST STAY AWAY!!!! Also just leaving I find my bill to see a parking tax and daily parking fee on top of the horrible price that does not reflect a nice room whatsoever! Would have been nice to know before I decided to stay in this rats nest Never again I stay in hotels for most of the year and this has got to be the worst experience I’ve had so far Truly disappointed!
Jourdan
Decent room Not the cleanest but I usually deep clean myself anyway when I stay at a hotel although I should not have too Hate how heavy the doors are and how thin the walls are
Here on business and at least ten people were in the room next door which was very inconvenient for me The cutting of weeds as early as 7 in the morning is ridiculous as well The construction… Having to pay for parking… The poor working dryer for clothes that you have to run more than once which costs you more money Definitely not the standard I am used to for a Marriott Also the presence of homelessness casually walking through the hotels or even parking there cars there… Price doesn’t really reflect service or what you get
Laurencio Ronquillo
Overall a good hotel, it was under renovation so I did not experience fully how it should be Good service, not sure how the whole parking charge works since 3 out of 4 times I had to park at sister property next door and never saw any security checking on parking area That would be my only questionable point
When updated their breakfast area should look awesome along with common first floor areaGreat complete gym on site Good location close to other businesses and highway Rooms were good, walk in shower could have more width lol and tv could be biggerBut overall good, I would stay here again no problem

I had the misfortune of staying here because every other decent hotel in the area was fully booked But somehow this place wasn’t? Red flag #1I took my chances because it was late and we needed a place to stay When I showed up to check in at night no one was at the front desk to check me inRed flag #2After ringing the bell and calling their number for 15 mins
A lady (most definitely the housekeeper came and checked me in) it was her first time doing the check in process and she had not clue what she was doing It took forever and She checked me in to a king bed even thought I booked a doubleRed flag #3After staying one brief night , I come to see a charge of two $200 extra charges on top of my $186 1 night charge That’s almost $600 to sleep 8 hours at this place Don’t even bother calling to resolve issues because their front desk is non existent and after calling best western corporate number and a lot of back and forth for two weeks I’m left with a $600 bill for one night stay Their general manager only cares about money Maybe he can use the money he charged me to hire another front desk staff Probably not…wishful thinkingStay clear from this hotel There’s a reason there are so many 1 star review about this place
Sam
This hotel is okay, but I found it wasn’t the same quality as other BW Plus locations Nothing was terrible about it, but things weren’t even moderately upscale, the free breakfast had very few options, rooms were not the cleanest I’ve ever seen (my mattress had a few weird brown stains on the edge), and some of the basic channels (NBC) didn’t work in the rooms Vending machines were cash only
Neighborhood is a bit rough but the hotel is reasonably tucked away and felt safe enoughHowever, the staff were very nice and I did really enjoy the heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi Would I stay here again? Yes, because of the heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi
Robyne Edwards
We had reservations for 3 rooms booked thru Best Western site Rooms were canceled the day we were arriving at 1400 but check in was 1500 They had trouble running my credit card but instead of using a phone number which was on file with Best Western used a disconnected one to call me
It was a Saturday night and we were 4 hours from home plus small children, so my daughter books the rooms there anyway because they were the only one who had 3 rooms available but according to manager at a reduced rate This was 125 over reservation price His quote was if you would have booked with me instead of internet I would of done something better Room had toliet paper over smoke alarm and not the quality of other plus hotels Traveler beware, in our opinion he saw he was losing over 100 a night on each room and didn’t want to lose that much money being a weekend

Do NOT STAY HERE! My husband and I had a 2 week stay booked for us here We were handed a key to a room that had not even been cleaned DIRTY to say the least
Blood on the comforter, garbage in the trash can, dirty pillows and bedding We turned around and walked out and found another place to stay The front desk person didn’t seem to care when I told her how filthy it was The FILTH was much deeper than the previous guests
Kim T
It looked so nice online A family member recommended this place They have good taste so I trusted their recommendation
It must have been years since they had ever been there because this place is a dump As we were approaching on John St I could see the dirt and grime on the building from a half a block away As I got closer I was really disappointed It looked more like a motel where people go to smash and do illicit things I thought the girl at the desk was rude, then I realized she wasn’t rude she just didn’t have a clue about customer service We asked her where was the street with the restaurants and eating places She said down there and just stared at us We said where? She said by Chase We said we’re for our of town we don’t know where anything is She said by the Chase on the corner down there, what’s the street name that Chase is on? She said it’s down there past the gas station😵 Okay we’ll find it we said The rooms we decorated nicely, but the were filthy Grey hand smudges were on the walls and the door jam of the bathroom And I found so many public hairs on the bathroom room floor I could of started a pubic hair museum And the tub was dirty, thank God I bought flip flops and wore them in the shower 🚿 I wasn’t going to take any chances with the towels I went to the store and got a roll paper towels and used them for wash cloths and to dry off with The air in the room was stale and the hotel turns off the elevator from 10pm to 7am Don’t use the air conditioner, it’s go rusty piping and a musty odor And believe or not I was told that there were worst Hotels in Salinas compared to this one If you have to go to Salinas you might just want to stay over in Monterey and drive over to Salinas when you need to be there It only 30min away That’s what we’ll do next time
Craig Etheridge
This is a very dirty hotel The carpet is disgusting, particularly The bed was reasonably clean thankfully
Both the drain in the sink and bathtub were very slow which is a sign that they are not maintained well The outside of the hotel has the appearance that no one has cared for the look or feel of the hotel for a long timeOverall, I was very disappointed in my stay and even left a day early because I didn’t want to be there any longer than I needed to be

Not quite sure why the negative reviews at all Stayed here for a couple weeks The staff was awesome and welcoming
Even allowed a really early check in With that I figured things would be missed but no, room was clean! Only got to use the kitchen once but room had a dishwasher which helped But the bed and pillows were comfy Room was pretty big One of the biggest I stayed at The shower DID get HOT! A lot of people were talking about no hot water but it got really hot Could have used a new shower head but I NEVER set unreal expectations like most At check out the staff were really nice and made check out very easy Pool was under construction but that’s unfortunately the theme these days The ONLY reason not a 5 star is yes bugs do get in the hotel and sometimes the room but they are located next to water and wetlands and it is Salinas But I do recommend!

Acoustics can really go a long ways here
And being on the first floor Not such a good idea Room was big and spacious with a kitchen as known with these hotels, easy to cook on and using the vent fan with the microwave wasnt too bad! Service was very friendly and helpful in recommending where to go and even driving times to get there! Its a shame noise was a big problem here, known walking sounds and jumping were prevalent with the people 1 floor above us and i could even hear a conversation through the vents (no among us imposter here :p) not to mention the large road noise coming from 101 nearby even with windows closed (which was easy to open or close) but i would come here next time, but a different room

The hotel is ill maintained While the front desk staff is nice, the rest of the hotel (hardware, cleaning) is really depressing I found a spider in the closet 2 hours after checking in ! At night I started hearing loud noise coming from the floor above, most likely due to its reaidence moving around and taking shower
I also found some stain on the bed sheet This is just gross

We are finishing up a 20 day west coast trip We stayed at Marriott’s the entire time – of varying quality and brand This SpringHill was lovely and about mid way through our trip
The staff was friendly and the rooms were big, clean and updated (hotel looks new) The hotel is a bit off the beaten path from Monterey but a good location for an overnight and nearby many box shops as well
