We loved this hotel and the location Jonathan at the front desk was great He shared his favorite restaurants and was eager to make our stay/trip amazing

The hotel was generous with water and coffee and delicious cookies The lobby offers refreshing pineapple infused water which I’ll now be making at home The rooms had cozy bathrobes and two comforters on the bed so you don’t have to share I will definitely be coming back

Kim Menier

First time staying here and absolutely loved it! First off, 10 points for being so dog friendly – I mean they even had a stuffed toy dog on the bed 😆 the lobby and rooms are gorgeous! I stayed in a king bed suite and was more than enough room for one with lots of storage space I work in sales and am constantly on zoom and have always had issues with hotel wifi but not here!! Hotel staff were so friendly and even honoured my request for a late check out 🙂 location is in very close walking distance to union square Plenty of restaurants and bars near by

Will definitely be staying here again!

Ina Muri

I came on here to say that Jonathan at the front desk is absolutely wonderful! He’s very helpful, attentive, and is a great listener I love this boutique hotel chain I first stayed at the San Diego hotel and loved that one, although the San Francisco one is even more impressive!A note on parking:If you need to park your car nearby you will probably park it in an independent valet garage next door (no affiliation with the hotel) but the guy who runs the place is a nice guy and when I was there he charged $30 a day

A note on architecture:The building is designed such that some of the rooms have windows facing another part of the building very nearby (about 10 feet or so) These rooms are still great but if you are really hoping for a room with a view – maybe mention that when you make your booking

Good staff, good amenities, nothing oversold or undersold here A solid three star hotel with four star service and cleaningI do want to say, prior to staying here, I was scouting this hotel like mad on various travel sites

It seems to automatically “sell out” if the price is below a certain number Both Hopper and Priceline Express both refused to sell the room to me when I applied a coupon Pretty interesting why, neither explained their reasoningBathroom toilet seat and bathtub were not cleaned, which is a major sanitary issue considering fungi are a thing in the naturally moist Fisherman’s WharfIt’s a shame the “Wharf District amenity fee” (a trick many SF hotels use to get more money out of you, regardless of where you book) couldn’t be waived However they gave me a free upgrade to a “junior suite” because I booked direct which was super cool If you get a suite you are more likely to get a partial bay view, which is pretty nice The streetcar runs right underneath you and you can hear it from 7am to 12amFree boarding pass printable on the computer Free printing on the computer next to it Free breakfast, which was nothing to write home about, but a way to make up for the extra $20 they took Finally a fitness center, which some may like They both require vaccination in line with CA law (which holds no negative connotation on my rating)

Excellent service, quality, and cleanliness Breakfasts have good quality and variety; nothing special for a free hotel breakfast but kept stocked and made well Plenty of tables, enough to accommodate rush hour

Employees are warming and ready to help Elevator’s a tad slow but not terrible Complimentary tea and coffee readily available most of the time Confident with cleanliness, enough to strut around barefoot in the room

David Johnson

Great customer service all the way around Jose helped my wife juggle getting the breakfast for our 3 kids House clean was excellent and 100% on their A game

The man running the front desk extremely polite and helpful The parking always had the car ready We stayed an extra night Great location, plenty to do for the kids and family I’ve stayed at 5 stars with not near the service My only hesitation in this review is increasing demand for an exceptional place, but exceptional management should be acknowledged and rewarded

This hotel was a saviour for me! After a cancelled United flight I arrived at around 3am, check in was easy, room was large and very clean The bed was super comfortable and black out curtains fantastic Very quiet room, great facilities and lovely staff

The area is also picturesque and safe, and you can walk to Starbucks The food in the restaurant is basic but fine Definitely recommend the hotel, thank you all

Chandana Ravichandra

This hotel was such a great experience The hotel was clean and as promised The staff were the most kind and amenable people

I wanted to change the dates of my stay and they helped me without any concern They were also kind enough to waive off parking fees for us for staying extra days with them It was so great, I came to stay twice in the same place It’s 30 minutes away from SFO downtown(by car) and <10 minutes from SFO airport They also offer shuttle services to the airport Recommend 10/10

One of the best in terms of location and amenities! That view of the cove in the Bay combined with quality rooms and amenities gives you that much – needed breather from life’s daily hustle and bustle Definitely going back soon! Please have that elevator fixed though, good thing we were only at the 2F 😉 And I hope the lobby bar can sell coffee in the morning

Outstanding hotel! Gorgeous 1890 Victorian decorated throughout with lovely antiques The staff were very helpful and friendly The room was prestene

So comfortable and delightful we didn’t want to leave The surrounding area was walking distance to many restaurants, clubs, shopping, you name it One, if not the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in Perfection!

Jesús Prudente-Barajas

Stayed here briefly during Halloween weekend Location is very close to Japantown, so it’s hard to be without anything to do nearby The clerk was friendly and “upgraded” our room allegedly which I am not sure if true but appreciate the hospitality nonetheless

I also appreciated the free candy, cookies and coffee available in the main lobby The entire hotel has the Victorian aesthetic, which I thought was the coolest feature of the placeThe only thing keeping me from rating this place higher is the fact they don’t offer free parking, or at least parking at a reduced rate nearby It was $30 for parking for the entire weekend, which sucked Aside from that though, I did enjoy my stay and would consider returning if need beEdit: Considering the fact parking is even offered and knowing how crazy parking can get anywhere else, I adjusted to 4*

Anthony Ohlson

I am staying here for one night, currently at the hotel The lobby is pretty cool looking, the staff is very friendly The room I’m staying and doesn’t have air conditioning I’m not sure about anything of the other rooms but it’s currently 60° so I don’t need the heater

Overall out of all the hotels I’ve stayed in San Francisco this is the nicest one I would definitely recommend it

I loved this hotel We stayed in December and I will be staying here from now on whenever we visit The rooms were great

Loved the bidet Water drainage in the shower was slow The view from the top floor is awesome The grocery store one street over behind Kara’s donuts is wonderful The bus stop is right outside the door and the hop on and hop off bus stops right across the street

Kevin G

Visited for vacation as a couple and stayed in the “Executive King Room” suite Room was very comfortable and worth the extra price The suite bathroom included a heated bidet and a shower with a actual hot steam sauna feature! Hotel staff were polite and helpful during our stay

Location is very central to SF and convenient to visitors with a carOnly downside to the stay was lack of dedicated parking There is a public parking garage across the block, but there are no on site guards protecting from break-ins (The garage is not managed by the hotel, sufficient warning was given to us by the hotel front desk however)Additionally, be aware there are little food options after general closing time, including no vending machines in the hotel

Chewy Valle

Awesome hotel it was our first time here we liked it always stay in the marina district Right around the corner from shops and restaurants and bars Room was small but very comfortable and I totally loved the steam room inside the shower I will definitely stay here again

The only thing is you have to park in the parking garage which is around the corner but we did not find that being a problem Parking garage came out to about $24 a day

Really nice hotel Good price Excellent location

Good costumer serviceOur room smell really bad They came and spray deodorant but didn’t help much reallyPillows were quite uncomfortableEverything else was very goodThey charge a resort fee… no idea why They don’t have a pool, or gym nor breakfast So I think it’s just an undercover way of elevating the price I knew it before I went and accepted it because even so, it was one of the best pricesSomething really nice is that they give you a complementary bag with two waters, a bottle Of wine and peanut and cereal barWould recommend

Nice place to stay in a great location We were able to walk to many things to do including the cable cars Room was clean and comfortable

We 100% adored this property I love a place with a retro vibe Even though the building is “vintage”, it was clean, cute and comfortable

Beds were a dream Staff was SUPER friendly Free breakfast was awesome and way more than expected Pretty sure the almond filled croissant and coffee would have cost me $10 around the corner Location can’t be beat and is walking distance from so much My only small advice would be to have refrigerator in the room Other than that 10/10

NANCY GONZALEZ

The people that work at this hotel are all very helpful, super friendly The hotel is very clean The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to restaurant and transportation just down the street

Very close to the ocean so at night when the city is quiet you can hear the boats blow horn My family and I were very happy to stay at this hotel My kids specially enjoyed the pool and fresh cookies everyday

Kay Gee

Great hotel in a great location The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean The hotel is on the pricey side but staff are friendly

Note that the King rooms don’t have a fridge or a kettle Also, they charge you a $50 bond per day that is (hopefully) later being released when you leave However, they don’t mention this during check in! So that can be a bit of a surprise when you check your bank account Cleaning service is only available upon request Another thing that could easily be mentioned during check in The heating unit wasn’t working and took a while to fix but staff were helpful

How we came to know of this hotel is an interesting one As an amateur treasure hunter I often use a metal detector to search for old coins and relics While searching a Victorian style home dating to 1914 in nearby Martinez, Ca I discovered a

25 cent trade token dating to the early 1900’s This token was unique as it had the name “Hotel Majestic SF”I set out to research the hotel which had a very limited but interesting history about itWhen finally my wife and I had an opportunity to stay we made the trip out to stay in the famed room 407 Unfortunately, upon arrival our assigned room was not the 407 room confirmed on our reservation When mentioned they made an attempt to change to the desired 407 but it was unavailable We settled on the adjacent room 408This was the Ballet Suite and the room was charming and everything we wanted it to beAfter dinner in nearby Japan town, we spent time talking with the kind staff and learning more about the hotel and surrounding area We had drinks at the Butterfly Lounge and our bartender was amazing, serving up quality beverages and good conversationsOur suite was clean and comfortable and we were allowed a late checkout Coffee and Tea with assorted fruit and pastries were available in the morningWe had a very memorable experience

Daniel Duncan

Clean, gorgeous hotel and spacious rooms Friendly and attentive staff Has a few quirks as you’d expect from a 120 year old building

Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the room service – the restaurant is closed on Mondays, and the free breakfast is pitiful and worse than you might expect from a Best Western in an attempt to get you to order their $12 eggs and bacon

Heather Vargas

From start to finish this was an amazing stay! The hotel is unique and rich in history It’s beautiful and quirky and fun Even the elevator was fun because I discovered something new in the paintings each time we used it

The location was fantastic, so close to Japantown and a short walk to California and Van Ness to catch the historic street car The best part was the staff Everyone was so welcoming, kind and professional I haven’t gotten that level of service at any other hotel anywhere I would definitely stay there again

Very nice hotel Very friendly and helpful staff Very clean room

We had a double queen room which was very adequate although a bit small in space Very little drawer space but has a closet Bathroom clean and of good size Weak pressure in the shower but that’s probably due to water savingAll in all we would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends

Devin Siebold

The property and location are nice However, it clearly states on hotelscom they have a fitness center on site

They do not Then they charge you a mandatory 3400 for use of a “local fitness club” which is actually the generic fitness room of another hotel they own over half a mile away The key they gave me didn’t work to get into the center and it’s not a club or what they describe They also say “fitness classes and yoga” on the listing but they do not have that, neither does the other hotel they send you to As a Silver Hotelscom member they state a bottle of wine per stay is free I asked, they said it should be in my room but it wasn’t so I asked again and they said housekeeping would bring me one and they never did They have no bellman and the person at the front door just hits the handicapped button to open it instead of actually holding the door for you I stay at a lot of similarly priced hotels (it was 340 for one night) and the service and amenities here are not up to par Especially with what is around, even next door there is a Hyatt with everything that Zoe describes and more Seems like they really want extra money and lots of up charges in your room, more so than usual Everything is for sale Lastly, the TV was just installed and randomly switches to the Home Screen over and over no matter which channel you’re watching Close to the tourist area is the main perk, but there are better so keep looking

Natasha Schroeder

Stay here is always excellent! Close walking distance to a lot of things Very clean hotel fabulous staff and the valet guys are great!! We have stayed here 4 times As far as we are concerned it’s the only place to stay for us when visiting SF

The last two times we have visited they were doing touch up paint around the hotel, they like to keep everything looking top notch Staff is very helpful and the restaurant next door is a good place to eat Would recommend to anyone!!

This place was AMAZING Service was excellent Everyone very friendly

Beautiful condo, fireplace, master bedroom was what dreams are made of Free coffee in lounge Filtered ph balanced water machine for refillable water bottles Definitely a must stay Oh and shopping and restaurants in building and a short walk away from pier and much more

Tammy Parashis

A dream come true property, this is what service is all about The team at the Fairmont Heritage Place will delight your soulOutstanding 5 star experience

The service was impeccable from all staff members Initially, we only booked for a 2 week stay and kept extending, for another 5 months while we were remodeling our home We stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom suite with high end amenities, including a full kitchen and washer and dryer in every residence, which is very difficult to find in San Francisco Along with my family being extremely happy with our stay, our dog had a fabulous time as well, as they are pet friendly and supplied him with a dog bed, dog bowls, and dog treats The doorman loved to give him treats as we would come and goBesides staying in luxury, you are in a prime and safe location, just upstairs from Ghirardelli Square You are also in close walking distance from Fisherman’s Wharf, North Beach, Fort Mason, and the Marina DistrictThe Mustard Terrace was our favorite part of the hotel It has spectacular views of Alcatraz, the bay and the world’s famous Ghirardelli sign above We loved hanging out on the comfy outdoor couches by the fire pit, day or night The hotel also offers a complimentary generous wine and cheese hour every Wednesday and Friday which was a wonderful perkWe can’t thank the entire staff enough who went out of their way to make our stay feel like home I can honestly say, the staff treated everyone like family! A few of them are Marco, Stephen, Aziz, Ryan, YuMi, Jean, Jason, Jeff, Asim, Lucia, Michelle, Johnson, Byron, The housekeeping team, Dallas, Karina, and Sarah And of course the managers Jonathan, Dan, and Jessica

Brandon Milton

We stayed here for two nights to do typical tourist things around San Francisco My family and I loved it! We were four adults (one couple, two singles) and the 2 bedroom apartment was plenty big enough with 2 beds and the sofabed Everything was clean and comfortable

We had a “city view” which faced Polk, but we could still see a bit of the bayWe also enjoyed the lounge areas outside with fire pits – although we couldn’t figure out how to start the fire pit on the second floorThe staff and service were great – everyone was friendly, we never once had to open the hotel’s main door, and we had someone check-in with us every day via text messageThere were only three cons IMO:1 We got lost when first checking in! The main entrance is on North Point/Polk You cannot access the lobby from Ghirardelli Square until you’ve checked in2 I wish the hotel room had some snacks For only two nights, we had a fridge/stove/oven, but no food! If we were staying for longer, we definitely would have grocery shopped3 During our second night (Sunday night), there was some street noise that was very loud and woke us up I think it was trash trucks In general the room had good noise insulation, but for some reason these trucks were LOUD!

I finally received my security deposit after 6 weeks post move out The building manager was very remorseful for being hard to reach, and was very helpful towards the endOver all, I would say Merdian management group is a solid company, as they have lovely buildings and overall high tenant satisfaction fate

I was happy living at 620 jones However, their security deposit customer service needs to improve, they need to be on top of giving people back their security deposit in timeSo if you rent with them, be prepared to possibly have some communication issues But don’t shy away from them They’re not scammers

This historic building is most definitely a gem in Lower Nob Hill I absolutely love the little details and the central location–can’t beat it It’s not every day that you find a well-priced studio apartment with a concierge, laundry on-site, wood flooring, and new elevators

I sincerely appreciate Elton Le’s kindness and attentiveness over the years at Gaylord Whenever I have needed any kind of help, Elton has been willing and able to take the time out of his day to call, email, and/or meet with me in person to discuss my needsThank you so much, Elton!

I want to give a big shoutout to Gaylord Suites’ resident handyman, Neio Christopher Calata He is a hard working, respectful, reliable, and kind gentleman I am incredibly thankful for him and his time/support over the years with whatever fix or help I’ve needed in my apartment

Thank you so much, Neio! My stay at Gaylord wouldn’t have been as lovely without your consistent and reliable help and kindness

Our overnight stay here has been great The staff have been extremely friendly and forward thinking Upon check in we were asked if we would like extra bedding items

After we got lunch and came back to the room the extra items were there The breakfast kitchen staff were great The food was good, portions good, service above and beyond Brought to our table by both staff members with all condiments A lot of tourist trap related and some interesting items within a decent walking distance Covid and the state and city regulations have caused many restaurants on the pier areas to go out of business 😞

First of all our trip was great The hotel is in a great location for a decent price Hotel was in great shape and very typical Courtyard quality

Breakfast wasn’t free but pretty fairly priced with lots of optionsBig warning Someone I had Breakfast with had their car broken into and their suitcase stolen, WHILE checking in! This is a huge problem in the neighborhood, nothing to do with the hotel but you need to be aware of it

김기탁

Staff was very caring and friendly but the room itself was very very disappointing When making the room reservation, we asked for an ocean view that we never got The room had absolutely no noise cancellation, in fact you could hear everything from the other room next door, because of the shocking thin wall that separates the two rooms

Parking is over 40 dollars per night that we never were aware of, that is a building next to the hotel I would recommend checking with the staff and doing some research like reading these reviews before going to hotels

Nice lobby and staff, indoor pool and fitness area Nice view from the room The view was of a river like part of the bay, there was a garden outside with a gate only accessible in and out with a hotel key

The lobby was huge and had plenty of charging ports, a table for business, chairs, etc The indoor pool was nice and warm and has a handicap lift Thats the pros The cons are very hard beds, no microwave in the rooms, everything costs money including the breakfast and not a flat fee, by individual product The air conditioner thermostat is on the wall, but it runs a very old window metal one like you see in old hotels so of course it makes loud noises turning on and off The beds were so hard i slept on the floor instead Bathroom was spacious but the toilet was only about 6 inches off the floor with no rails or anything to help you up and it was in a nook, so no stretching out legs or having disabilities with that toilet So 50/50

Jason Smith

The rooms are good size and plenty of room and furnitureThere is a pool and jacuzzi, an exercise room and a couple gas grill if you want to cook something on the grillThe website says free grab n go continental breakfast, but they actually have a hot breakfast, eggs, potatoes, hot oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, muffins, juices, hot chocolate and coffee

Did some fishing right outside the building and also a great spot for a leisurely walk along the waterVery good value for the money

I don’t know why this hotel is highly rated! It’s an old residence inn that needs a lot of updating! Our room needed a lot of TLC! We got a double queen suite for the night Beds were ok for comfort All the handles for the doors in our rooms were falling off

The chair legs to the dining room table were all wobbly We had to leave a chair outside our room so they can take it away since it was one seat away from being broken We found old, funky, and filthy slippers under our bed— gross! The place seemed very short staffed and it was hard to get towels or anything else you needed I honestly feel like I should overpaid for this place Only pro: cable TV

The location is close to a lot of tourist attractions You can walk to unite square, fisherman’s wharf, little Italy and Chinatown Next time I think i will prefer to stay in Hays valley where there seems to be a lot of good restaurants

The service was welcoming and we got our room early but had to wait for the parking lot Unfortunately our car got broken into in the mean while This apparently happens daily or all the time There are lots of signs in the area that tells you not to leave anything in the car but be we had not seen those at the time We were asked if we wanted to bring our stuff into the hotel but said we would just leave them until we could get the car a bit closer It would have been really nice if the hotel then had informed us about the very high risk of someone breaking into the car in that areaThe rooms were clean and the kitchen is well equiptThe feel of the hotel is a bit ‘not modern’

Stephen Tardy

Very convenient location, bus stop/cable car stops right in front of hotel, 2 blocks from Fishermen’s Wharf, 1 block from convenience store, large grocery store 04 miles away, many great restaurants under 05 miles radius, roof top chairs/fantastic view of the Bay including Alcatraz, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets-very romantic, great 1 BR suites w/ loaded amenities, and terrific, happy, customer service orientated staff

We loved, loved, loved our week’s vacation in the City by the Bay

I stayed here for one night, in one of the Queen rooms with the view of the bay/bridge If you can afford that I recommend itThe room was good, pretty updated

The bathroom was nice, modernThe service was professional and welcoming, politeThe location felt very safe, compared to other places in the cityWalkable to Fisherman’s Wharf area (20-30 min walk) The Ferry building is like a 2 minute walk – quick snack, ice cream, food, coffee, some small shops, etcIf I return to SF this hotel will be near the top of my list

Had the most pleasant stay in sf at the harbor hotel Got a room with a bay view for a great price (compared to most hotels in the area) I called in advance to add champagne to my room and requested to have a note written as a surprise for my partner which they accommodated! They even added in some little snacks and chocolates

Room was super quaint- very nicely decorated! Felt more like a bedroom than a hotel Bathrooms very updated and modern Loved the halo light mirror The hotel had valet which was convenient We had dinner at Ozumo next door which the hotel website had advertised for – it was superb And the fact that it’s next door adds to the ease of convenience especially in such a busy area Lobby was also very nicely decorated and inviting They have bikes available for guests to use too! Loved the hotel would 10/10 recommend

Neighborhood Home Buyers

We loved it here! When we arrived they helped with our luggage and Devin and Jevon were so nice, accommodating and very helpful They gave us great tips on places to visit while our stay in SF All the staff was very nice and helpful

The rooms were nice, clean and had a comfortable bed They have complimentary coffee, tea and donuts in the morning There’s bikes you can take for a stroll at no charge and free wine tasting from 5pm-6pm The hotel was super cute with beautiful views from our room over the bay We’ll be staying here from now on when visiting SF Loved everything about this hotel!

Other than the staff, it has been a very nice experience Great location, spacious room, nicely decorated We’ve encountered two concierges and they have been polite and helpful, but the front desk desk doesn’t acknowledge you

I hate to use the word “snobby,” but that is how they come off Definitely could be a little friendlier and helpful Overall though, nice hotel!
