Zen Zoo

Room was nice, cleaning of the bathroom could have been a bit better There is free off street parkingWifi was a bit flaky in the evening

There was a water bottle in the room which we assumed was complimentary as there was no price anywhere, well we got charged 5$ later for it (edit: I should have looked at the other reviews It seems that I’m not the only one that got tricked by this)Location is great, you can walk to all shops from the hotelThe breakfast is in the bakery in front and was delicious: a roll + butter/ jam / cheese, 1 danish pastry, tea or coffee and orange juice

Friedrich Arnold

We spontaneously decided to drive to Solvang because the coast of Santa Barbara was too foggy and cold A decision that we didn’t regret The inn still had one queen-size room left that we could book and we loved everything about our stay

Friendly staff, clean room, nice pool area with towels, good location in the middle of Solvang, breakfast vouchers for the Danish bakery across the street

Stephen Santiago

It’s my first time to visit Solvang and I have to depend on Google reviews I was very hesitant at first to stay at this hotel but as I checked other places Solvang inn has the best chance of providing good place to stay The hotel was right at the heart of Solvang village

You can just park your car and walk around the villageThe innkeeper was very nice She gave me welcome cookies and provided with a catalog where to go They also provided free breakfast which was awesomeThe hotel was old but well kept The room was ready the bed was comfortable The best part is you park just outside your door which made it easier to unload and loadChecking in and out was super easy I’m glad I chose Solvang Inn and Cottages Im coming back to this place

Bill Dalton

We stayed in room 15 which was nice and roomy and clean We knew it would be a little funky by looking at the pics but it was cool A lot of green in that room

Very loud music from below the room at night but after a text to the front desk they turned it down at around 11:00pm The beer in the honor bar has been there a while so check the dates Five month old IPA is not good Great location, real close to everything Ostrich Land and the Mission are fun places to visit

Harvey Stone

I really hate giving this wonderful place 4 stars but

(Long review)Location – wonderful The farmers market was right outside as was the music in the park Fitzpatrick’s pub was right outside too and they have fantastic food (we don’t drink)The room – Clean, no, it was beyond clean immaculate was more like itAccommodating our service dog – wonderful they even left small doggie bowls for her (We had a large service dog so the small bowls were funny {not a negative})Front desk – there wasn’t one and that seemed a bit strange but it was not a negativeNow the negatives – there’s no swimming pool When it’s 95° plus, you want to relax by a pool I should have noticed that before I booked our stayAnother negative was the TVs (cable) I couldn’t figure out how to watch the local TV channels We had hundreds of wacko stations but not the local ABC, CBS or NBC stations (How many episodes of I Love Lucy can one take)So if you want a quiet room in the heart of Solvang, stay here If you want any amenities then this is not the place for you

June McKernan

Place is quiet and clean All virtual check in services ( Nice) Good location and parking

They gave us 2 bottles of waters for 3 nights, not enough to make coffee each day No room service or regular coffee, only an espresso machine No regular TV either for local news or major networks Nothing to do in town after dinner, so TV would help Just stupid channels available with garbage on them I would stay here again, just bring more water

I stayed at the Mirabelle Inn for two nights We arrived very late around 11pm and the staff was very welcoming and friendly, even for it being so late We were in room 9 on the third floor

The staff suggested we take the elevator which was a little sketchy Our room was nice but you could tell the building was older The water pressure was great but I had trouble with the temperature The beds were fine but the pillows not so much The location was super convenient to the shops and food If you order breakfast I’d recommend the avocado toast

Tyler Matzke

My girl friend and I booked a valentines weekend at the Mirabelle inn Although this hotel has a very cute and boutique feel we unfortunately were given a terrible room We paid over $360 for our room and were placed on the first floor in room 1 right next to the kitchen to the First and Oak restaurant

This is the only hotel room on the first floor and it’s placed right in between the restaurant bathroom and the restaurant kitchen I will attach a photo to show you how close we were to the kitchen We couldn’t go to bed because of how noisy it is When we called the front desk at 9:45 pm they just told us they couldn’t move us because they are fully booked I wouldn’t be complaining at all if we were paying a discounted rate but that was not that case In my personal opinion, a 4 star hotel with a Michelin star restaurant should know better than to have a guest room next to the kitchen and bathroom in a noisy location Other than this unfortunate issue we had the hotel is pleasant and has a nice vibes and provided us a complimentary bottle of wine !

Jamie Edson

We also came very late at night, like 11ish We had two rooms, one an accessible one, and one a standard one Other than the fact that I booked directly with them, and I believe paid more as a result, the stay, although very short was the highlight of our 8 night vacation

I own a b and b myself, (and while I have moral objections to shipping water from italy, when we have great american water nearby,) i loved the presentation, the decor, the amenitiesI wish that we had stayed there more than one night and my husband and I may return again, when we are not traveling with a person who needs ada accomodations Their room was lovely thoughi actually thought the house was about 100 years older than it is I mean that as a compliment It has a victoriana or at least a european feel, that I associate with the higher quality of times past Anyway I found it charming, warm and extremely comfortable, especially the bed and the pillowsI would most definitely return

Quaint and cozy, New Haven is a great option for a couple looking for a quiet time, a clean place and no frills (although our bath had shower heads on both sides!) If I travelled with family or kids, I’d likely look elsewhere, but when we’re in town next time this will be first in my considerations Our price was very good, especially since we didn’t plan ahead and called out of the blue

Somehow we left some clothes there, but before we could leave town we got a call and the office had everything bagged and ready for us Nice folks, helpful staff

Came here for Valentine’s Day weekend and had an amazing time! These tiny but perfectly sized, beautifully designed rooms Are all you need for your stay in Solvang! We were lucky to get room #1 That comes with your own private fire pit Only two rooms in the whole hotel have one so make sure you book early around the holidays! It’s in a perfect location, super quiet and walking distance from EVERYTHING!! I heard that every room Has different architecture and qualities so I can’t wait to come back and check them out! ⛰

Go with Belle

My husband and I booked this place for our Memorial’s day weekend getaway and it was perfectThe day of your arrival they will send you the link,So you can check in online (Available after 3 pmBy the way) after you successfully checked in they’ll send you the info about your room,So when you get there you can go to your room right away without have to go through the check in process at the office like the regular hotel

I can’t say anything about the staffs though because I have not seen them at all the whole time we were there but we’ve seen 1 housekeeping that we did say Hi and she’s niceBy the way,We love that they fix our bed and clean our room everyday,So when we came back to the room after the long day of wine testing there is a nice clean bed and room for us everyday! Thank you guys!Parking : There is plenty in the back and street parking was fine alsoThis is really nice and quiet place,We slept really good every nightThe most impressive things for this stayed was How clean the place and our room wasWe got room No9 which located downstair and has a living room separate from the bedroomPerfect for a couple who sleep and wake up in the different times like usNext trip in Solvang,Definitely stay here for sure! How could we stay anywhere else?! When this place is so great!

Lauren Melton

Overall, our stay was pleasant in regards to the people, location, and vibe We especially enjoyed the peacefulness of the gardenWe did, however, get very little sleep, as the bed was incredibly uncomfortable- quite possibly the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in

While the room smelled clean, there was dust on the tables next to the bed and a bandaid stuck to the tile, under the sink, in the bathroom The AC kept us nice and cool though!

Felipe

The M was a good little hotel cottage We arrived Thursday July 14th and left Friday July 15th The reason I gave it a 4 stars was It didn’t have a continental breakfast, the rooms Mini fridge was under the counter behind doors, small things but for the price , yes you get the ambiance but most of the areas have all of the amenities and would be nice to eat some breakfast in the garden and courtyard

All in all a good little stay

Stayed here about a month ago (just finished trip) By far our favorite hotel of the entire trip! Very spacious, quiet, and comfortable– I even asked housekeeping what brand of mattress it was so I can get my own for home! Good wifi, very clean, quaint and charming decor, good shower/pressure, good location for sightseeing around town Jacuzzi and pool were both very big and clean, and we enjoyed visiting with other guests at both

For breakfast they gave us a voucher for a free traditional meal at the local bakery across the street Front desk was amazingly helpful and professional We were very excited to stay here, and we will definitely stay here again in the future!

Why was it excellent?!?

because it just is An absolute army of helpful, friendly, attentive staff Daily cleaning of rooms (that I haven’t experienced since pre March of 2020), eclectic – but, functional furniture, electric fireplaces in every room, awesome pool and a hot tub (with 2 fire places) and other guests that were absolutely delightfulJust when you think it’s over, they send you to a proper Danish bakery for a free breakfast that makes the best of other hotel “free breakfasts” seem ridiculousDue to work, I spend way too many nights in hotels Maybe my recent stay in downtown Detroit has lowered my standards But, I feel that this is one of the nicest and most genuine hotels I have stayed in – in many yearsEdit: Forgot to mention, the beds are super-comfortable and lull you to sleep I spend 1/3 of each year sleeping in hotels – this by far was the best None compare to the attentive staff, comfort, breakfast and did I mention comfort of Hadsten House Inn

Kevin Purvis

me and my wife have stayed here probably on four separate occasions over the past decade it has recently changed ownership, I believe the Chumash tribe purchased it, however that has not changed how friendly everyone is there and the amenities, etc The location really is quite excellent

although it’s not literally in downtown solving it’s maybe a 5-10 minute pretty walk also conveniently right next to a liquor store/snack shop which is good if you want to just wind down with the glass of wine or whatever when the day is done I also really like the pool which is completely indoors it’s really useful considering that the summer it gets quite hot in solving so it’s nice to have a pool that you can swim in at any time

So many great things about this placePros:- great rate Cheaper than some others not nearly as close to the heart of solvang- location

It’s right in there in the central part of Solvang We went for a walk the night we arrived because everything is literally right outside our door- heated pool and spa My kids had a great time in the pool- clean room, clean towels This is important to me I’ll take cleanliness over design almost every timeCons:- location is great, but it being central means you do hear people walking around pretty early or pretty late There was a performance at the theater the night we arrived It wasn’t very loud, but you could hear it Was actually kind of cool But some people might not like it- the windows in our room were sort of small and high up Not a big deal actually… but was sort of oddAll in all, would definitely come back The items in the cons list wasn’t all that bad… but I figured that they might be things others possibly might not like We loved being able to just walk around the town with everything so close The late night stroll wouldn’t have been really something we might have done if we weren’t so close How nice is it to be able to walk the town, eat all the pastries and taste the wines and walk to your room and take a nap We’ll be back for sure

We stayed 3 nights The 1st 2 nights we stayed in the king suite but the hot tub jets were broken so we down graded to the standard king room on the 3rd night

We had absolutely no problems in the standard king room and wished we had stayed in that room our whole stay Not only was the hot tub working but it was nicer than the suite Nicer and larger fridge, a desk for writing, a comfortable chair with ottoman, and a sliding door out to the pool areaUnfortunately the overpriced king suite included a the most uncomfortable futon i have ever sat on ( a sleeper sofa was pictured and listed in listing), had no pool view but instead we had only a window with a parking lot viewThe staff was friendly and was able to give us local recommendations, more soap, and towels No food service was provided due to covid

B.J. Ocampo

Great location, walking distance to restaurants and shops in town Room and bathrooms were updated and clean Bathroom had a jacuzzi tub

Pool was clean and water was warmReservation tip: To avoid street noise, reserve rooms by the back parking

Benjamin Grover

When we checked in they upgraded us to a jacuzzi suite at no extra charge which was really nice The pros:Room was cleanIt was roomyThe shower and rub were both largeThe cons:The shower wasn’t sealed so water got on the bathroom floorThe jacuzzi tub has the worst water pressure ever so it took forever to fillThe tv over the jacuzzi tub wouldn’t change channelsThe room only has a swamp cooler which is quite loud and provides no AC in the bathroomOverall it was a fine place to stay and very convenient to walking to town but I probably wouldn’t stay here again for the price

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable There was a fridge and microwave which I wasn’t expecting Breakfast was good

Eggs, potatoes, biscuits with gravy, and bacon Front desk and housekeeping were very friendly Dining area was quite small It was great for our visit to Solvang They also have a lot of great restaurants near the hotel

Diane Perez

Stayed in the Access ♿ room and it was very good Very clean A little tight between the bed and desk/dresser but I was able to squeak by

The bathroom is excellent! Roll in shower, shower chair, taller toilet, and space next to toilet to transferBreakfast was ok and staff were all really friendly Only reason I took off a star was for the a/c not being able to turn the temp knob and I got very hot at night due to heat intolerance But it was fixed on the stay back home

Poor Customer Service!!First things first, I made the initial mistake but the hotel was not accommodating when I asked for assistanceI made a reservation for one night through a third party and it had a hotel randomizer option It picked between 3 hotel for a fixed price so we went with that

This hotel was one of the options Little did we know the dates did not match the ones we initially wanted and overlooked that when booking (My mistake)I called the hotel and first asked if they had availability for the days we wanted and they said yes So I told them what happened and asked if they could transfer the dates and we would pay the remaining balance They guy at the front desk said to contact the third party we booked through I then contacted the third party about transferring the dates or canceling it and they spoke with the front desk person on my behalf to see if they would accept a cancel request so we could rebook with them without loosing the money we already invested for the wrong dates They told the agent no,First of all, they could have told me no when I first contacted them instead of having me talk to my booking agent and have them tell me noSecond, you would think if a customer came to you with a mistake and wanted to still do business with you, that you would accommodate them!! ESPECIALLY if you have a room still available and they were willing to pay the remaining balance-not just expect to get it for what they originally paidthat’s what customer service isVery disappointed 🙁

I wish I could give this remodeled motel 4 stars It’s in a perfect setting with nice views and fresh air The rooms were clean, updated and the pillows were very comfortable

The pool area was cute , small but poorly maintained There were no clean towels for guest use Unfortunately no bar service at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon ?! The facility fee of $20 is just not justified The main reason I give it 3 stars is lack of customer service It was lacking and it seemed that the receptionist at check out was just not interested I won’t be coming back unless I get a discounted rate for 3 star motel Check before going if restaurant and bar service available It was a ghost motel yesterday

ReviewWe booked this trip in April for a late June stay with our 3 year old They changed their pool policy (only 21+ allowed in pool now) between that time and failed to contact us directly (we even called in April to confirm children were allowed and indicated she was coming on the reservation) We arrived and due to the lack of direct communication, received an exception for her to use the pool from the staff

On a 95 degree Monday afternoon the GM Matt came up to the 3 of us in the pool and kicked her out He asked us to remove her from the pool which caused a crazy scene because she was hot, just got into the pool, and now felt like she did something wrong because this man told her to leave to her face There was only 1 other couple in the pool and our daughter wasn’t splashing our disturbing the peace Couples around the pool even offered to take a vote because they thought she was so adorable and it was so hot out We complained at reception and was told Matt would be reaching out with an apology and potential compensation since we weren’t allowed to use the facilities It’s been a week – no apology and we were charged the full amount including pool fees Matt – you should’ve pulled one of her caretakers aside outside of the pool to speak with one us directly Telling a toddler directly she wasn’t allowed was a poor choice and stained our first trip as a family post-Covid Staff knew a child was coming, they should’ve called us directly to inform us of the policy change Will never be coming back

Ashley Beels

Excellent views, yummy food (if you like steak, get the steak), clean rooms, well decorated rooms(get the room upgrade with the private patio and fire pit it was dreamy),and overall good energy on the property and with staff If you have any customer service needs they will take care of it And if they can’t attend to them in the moment, they will find a way to make it right

Great customer service Can’t wait to return next month for another staycationPs- if you like gin, get the “important date” at the bar

Perfect decorations and locations, staffs here are very helpful and kind The complimentary breakfast with Danish pastry is really nice Generally good at this price

However, the cleanness and maintenance of the rooms can be improved, multiple bugs are found in the room, and both the shower and the sink don’t work well The AC is making much noise and not really functional

Generally this place was a good place to stay Fairly basic with the exception of the exterior décor being in native Scandinavian Accommodations were comfortable and the location was very convenient with just about everything within walking distance

Our room (130) was too close to the main road and the road noise and that of the restaurant across the street was easily heard through the windows and door The room had a fridge, but no microwave (which would have been very handy) There were limited towel racks in the bathroom and the TV picture was fuzzy Lastly, breakfast isn’t much Unless you’re a very European, it won’t be enough Choices of hard boiled eggs, a Danish, OJ, and a couple other items

Sierra Enby

This place was really nice to stay at It’s a place to call home for the night- The staff were really friendly

– The appliances were very good quality- The room was very comfortable- The hotel grounds are filled with trees, birds and seating- It’s on a major road and walking distance to all the shops and a parkI only have a few complaints which are mostly nitpicks:- The room keys aren’t NFC but instead were magnetic cards that stop working if they go near anything magnetic (anything made in the past 20 years)- The breakfast was pretty bad The milk left a bad aftertaste, the pastry tasted old and the “orange juice” tasted like V8- The stairs were really wobbly and creaky up to our room and felt like they would fall over

Motor lodge style accommodation, new owners & renovated February 2020 I found out about this place through Sunset magazineThe check in was quick, the front desk was as helpful & “fun” as a door knob

Beautiful serene, clean grounds We had the deluxe room (#18) that had good amenities but lacking a security safe, extra towels & the shower door needs an additional seal/strip to prevent water from leaking on main bathroom floor Bath products are nice but doesn’t lather good Room key is old fashioned key although cumbersome in this tech world, it made it easier to have a late check out, no key card programming necessaryIt is off the main road, Mission Drive, but quiet enough being surrounded by big trees in the courtyard The pool is small but have ample lounge chairs & good chill music The location is less than 2 miles walking/biking to restaurants & wineries Very convenient Tesla destination charger!!Front desk that checked us out was more personable & helpful!I would definitely come back! It’s an easy 2 night getaway from LA I look forward to some improvements since there was no consistent amenities in the pool, ie towels, water, music

Mark Clapper

I cannot believe how pretty hotel Ynez is! The grounds are stunning and the rooms are really really nice! Seriously, the pictures on the website do not do just how wonderful this place is The open area with fire pits was perfect and it was fun to play on the Bocce court The staff is kind and friendly, too

We look forward to coming back!

Just got back from our trip to Solvang The Vinland is in a great location Walkable to everything

Our trip got off to a rough start as we weren’t told that the pool would be under construction That was the main reason we selected that hotel The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating to make it up to us They really went out of their way by providing us pool access at another property and a lovely (quiet) room Maria, in particular, was so kind and helpful Highly recommend!

Room was decently clean and appeared as it did in the photos However the walls and especially door to room was sooo thin you could hear everyone opening the door to get in and out of building, you could clearly hear full on conversations outside your room when they weren’t even yelling Worst of it all is we were placed in a room and got all showered and settled in after a long drive, just to be placed in a room next to a small dog that continued to bark until past 11pm until the drinks I had kicked in and I was woken up to the same barks around 8am

Honestly ruined sleep and the experience Will never stay here again Receptionist was kind and helpful Parking safe Shops nearby But I’m paying to stay comfortably One could say I should have called it in or notified front desk but after all of the driving and work I did, naked in bed and all my stuff is unpacked I’m not moving You shouldn’t allow pets in the same area as guests without pets Now I’m wondering how many dogs have slept in the bed I was in or rolled around in the carpet I walked barefoot on I love animals but it wasn’t a pleasant stay

This hotel is in an ideal location, you can walk everywhere It’s sweet and cozy and has great outdoor space Despite being on the busy Mission Street, our room was quiet and comfortable

Every single hotel staff we encountered at the here was so helpful and polite The bar and restaurant has great drinks and dinner menu The only complaint we had was that our room was extremely dusty and was not dusted for the 3 nights we stayed There were cobwebs on the lights- so that was disappointing Overall, we highly recommend

Alfredo Montes

My wife and I recently decided to hold our wedding and host our guests at the Landsby and it was the best decision we could have madeThe Landsby was the perfect venue and the only thing better than the venue was the staff First and foremost, John, the Event Manager, was an exceptional partner

We’re grateful for all of his tireless efforts, exemplary customer service, and simply fun to talk to on a weekday afternoonSecondly, we have Jackie, the catering manager We f’ing love Jackie Her energy was infectious and her attention to detail and desire to make our moment special was very appreciated She went above and beyond when needed and made us laugh and smile in the processIf you’re looking to host an intimate gathering with 50-60 people look no further than the Landsby

Location is amazing, you’re basically in the downtown area and can get to anything by foot; including most of the Winery tasting rooms Rooms are nice and clean, good service with available underground parking for $15/night The place is a little old, with thin walls and ventilation system

But you can’t beat it’s location and convience

Poor Marriott The front desk service is pretty much nothing This hotel is older and needs to be renovated

I asked for a bathtub they refused to change the room I had 2 reservations and they wouldn’t combine them so I just cancelled day 3 It was good for 1-2 nights to visit the area but I would not go back I would recommend other hotels in the area for the quality you get at the prices they charge

Vinland is incredible for the price The rooms are all updated and huge! They even have an outdoor patio with cafe table and chairs It was so hot the two days we were there so their pool was such a plus for us

It’s clean and even has a hot tub next to it The only issue I had was their WIFI I couldn’t finish work I brought with me due to constant crashing I was informed that they are having FIOS issues which also explains why their TV kept having glitches too Other than that, this boutique hotel is amazing! They even have a nice bar that serve cocktails and appetizers So convenient for people wanting a nightcap as it is right there on the property The staff is really what sets this place apart So accommodating and sweet as can be

We stayed here for three nights and could have easily made it five Great staff, lovely swimming pool and hot spa pool Close to everything, wi fi a bit patchy but most people have data these days

Free parking and very safe area Thanks to the lovely receptionist for being so friendly on our arrival at nine o clock at night 5 stars from me and would definitely come back

We stopped in late at night with no reservations on my way across two states and loved it so much that I ended up staying over a week when I had only planned to stay one or two nights somewhere in Solvang Rio is incredible to deal with, such a sweetheart and extremely accommodating All the girls who work at the front desk also were extremely nice to deal with and helpful

My room was booked for the weekend so I started looking at other places because we thought their hotel was all booked but they miraculously switched me to a room that was so much nicer, huge and with incredible views of the mountains and city I love the location too It is right next to the Sheriff station and Veterans memorial with a little park in case you have a superior four-legged one with you And their Danish they offer in the morning were better than the ones we had bought in the bakeries around there! Yes it is not modern but there is a reason for that My friend was incredibly impressed with the original items they had in the rooms that were in excellent condition and nearly impossible to find anywhere else Carpets could be a little cleaner but everything here more than makes up for that Loved this stay
