The room was clean and spacious, the bed was slightly too firm and a bit uncomfortable However, I will definitely stay here again due to one stand-out, exemplary employee, Troy The man who prepares the breakfast and works the breakfast area

He was a bright spot in our day, clearly loves his job and the people he encounters He keeps the area spotless, even asks if everything is good, if we need anything etc He truly goes above and beyond and I hope the Holiday Inn knows what an excellent employee he is

Percinda Scruggs

Even though the hotel was clean and our first room was great We didn’t care for the customer service from the young in the morning We had to pack our things and wait for a few hours to move to another room because we extended our stay and because we used a 3rd party to pay for our rooms

They need to change this policy Our 2nd room wasn’t as comfortable as our 1st room Our view from our room wasn’t good If I didn’t know any better I wonder was it intentionally because we had a problem with the young woman who worked the morning shift She had an attitude with us

This HIE has been here for sometime It has been renovated but most of it is cosmetic I purchased a King suite which was not ready when I arrived

I always request room on top floor away from elevators I received room on top floor but directly across from elevators Noise level was excessive at night with girls soccer team and excessive in morning Nice size room, clean Restroom cosmetic upgrades but dated tub/shower and tile

The front desk clerk, Natalie, has the perfect personality for this job She actually is the only hotel employee that spoke to me first without myself saying a word Why these hotels think its ok to put bland people out front to represent is just stupid

Keep up the good Room was good The only negative I can say about this hotel is the highway noise

Terry Hermann

The staff was over the top They asked me everyday when they saw me if I needed anything Natalie was more then just helpful

She even called us after we left to see if we might need places of attractions direction places to eat If we could we would have brought her along, lol The crew was outstanding and extremely helpful We plan in another visit there las we are looking for a house to buy We’ll definitely stay there again

Karen Neat

It was excellent Hands Down due the the staff!!!! NATALIE and JEANIE were FANTASTIC!!! We are form west coast (sorry ahead of time, we have no intentions of bringing what’s going on here, to over there As far as we are concerned you all are doing it right❤back to review

) Natalie and Jeanie had us covered at every turn Best places to eat Places to go Extra things we forgot or needed (Shaver and shaving cream) Asked if they could make us fresh coffee after we got there so latemade up our room because we got up late and missed cleaning ladyThese two had us covered Our room was very nice Pillows GALORE! You actually had enough to make it comfortable to sit up and watch TV Sounds stupid but I can’t tell you how nice that was Our only complaint would have been the microwave It had a learning curve we never figured out, but Im sure if we would have mentioned it, they would have changed it out LolThey ladies TRUELY made us feel at home from word go We do plan on coming back and we WILL be staying there I just hope both Natalie and Jeanie will be there again PS we loved the people of SC!!! California needs to take manner classes from you folks

I was only passing through Spartanburg and needed a place to stay for the night I was impressed by this hotel Nice setting, nice rooms, incredible lobby! Didn’t get to use the bar or restaurant because we were there so briefly, but both looked very inviting! Will plan to stay here again on my travels south as I pass through here several times a year!

We were in town for my cousin’s graduation from USC Upstate Our rooms were great, except one had a clogged sink (gross, housekeeping should have caught that) The staff was amazing; they always acknowledged and helped us

The party was also here in a private ballroom The food and drinks were beautifully presented, properly temped, & delicious We had an amazing time!

Lyuda

Check in was quick and seamless! The pool was out of service for the season which is unfortunate because this wasn’t made clear during booking They offer a buffet style breakfast but you have to pay ~$12 per person to indulge in Their basic wifi is free and easy enough to log into

The TV in room is huge and the bed we had was incredibly soft and comfy Our room definitely didn’t have a view or anything but I didn’t book expecting one We had a wonderfully short walk to the movie theater nearby My biggest struggle with this hotel is everything echos/sounds seem to bounce off the room walls The AC sounds like rain outside which is soothing but it’s also very loud!Overall I would book again because it’s close and convenient Mostly everything i’d want out of a place like this was provided so I appreciate that

Nice, clean, large room for a fair price We arrived exhausted around 2am and the lady running the front desk was very nice and efficient Got a pet friendly room booked quickly for the night upon our arrival

When we brought our dog in, she asked to pet him and to give him a treat, which she happily gifted our pup once we gave our approvalOverall a very positive experience and would recommend this location to others!

Jenn Downs

We will be staying here again! The prices are great, breakfast is delicious(actual hot food and drinks with lots of variety) coffee in the room is actually tasty The rooms are big and very clean The front desk lady was extremely nice

They have a real remote and a nice TV! Great storage space available in the room Nice divider between the bed and couch Room was set up really nice Out of all the hotels I have stayed at recently in this area, I give this one a AAA+++!

Ron Tyler

Perfect stop for us on our way up to Beech Mtn, NC I read reviews unfriendly front desk staff I talked with four different ladies up front during my stay

Found all of them to be quite friendly and personable You have to be friendly to get friendly in return Maybe that was the issue? 😀Hallways seemed a bit dated and worn, but the room was very nice Comfortable bed Mini fridge, microwave were both used and appreciated Breakfast was more than we needed and a good variety for hotel complimentary meal

There aren’t elevators here, so not handicapped accessible When we arrived, there was someone else’s food in the mini fridge

box of burritos and a frozen cheeseburger Who knows how long that was in there There was sticky residue from where a cup was placed on the bedside table It smelled unpleasant throughout the halls where the rooms are The ice machine didn’t work at all The water tasted like bleach You couldn’t adjust the AC temperature at all it was 62 degrees or nothing Room didn’t have a smart TV or cable Lobby had decent coffee if you can ignore the bleach tasting water

Everything was great as far as customer service, room, etc However apparently there was a big basketball tournament going on while we stayed here and most players were on the same floor as us And despite all of the signs stating that after 10pm it was “quiet time” all that was heard until 3am was screaming, yelling, and slamming doors out front of our room and all throughout the 6th floor

Nothing was done about it And this is the main reason we tend to stay at AirBnB’s but the one time we decided to give a hotel another chance we regret it The hotel itself was great and our room was immaculate but just know there is no quiet time as the signs all over will state

Shayla Crosby Phillips

The Staff was super friendly and helpful(especially Latanya)We felt very welcomed from the moment we walked in til the time we checked out The room was clean and roomy

The hotel is located in a great location, walking distance to Fuddruckers, Pizza Inn, Starbucks, Chick-Fil-A & QT If we ever visit Duncan, SC again we will definitely choose Home2 Suites again

Well the place was clean in the middle of nowhere but it was close enough to boiling springs so it was perfect The cleaning crew are very nice and helpful even more then the front desk The room was roomy bit dated needs a new look needs new furniture

And bathroom looks dirty but it’s not it’s clean but the fake marble look makes it look that way Pool is small but clean and family have so much fun there all day Different ways to access hotel with key of course Late checkout is possible!

Claude E

It had a funny smell Then when we got in the room it was dirty Like the walls and the room was totally outdated

We complained and got good service They tried to accommodate us to the best of their ability but the next room was equally terrible and even smelled like cigarettes We did not stay It was midnight when we arrived and we still left

LaTonya Simmons

Beware of fraudulent, rude management Will charge you for damages they may have done before your arrival and covered up Hold you as the scape goat especially if you’re black and from out of town

Sad, sad, sad So much for customer service Not only was I billed $500 for damages we did not incur, I was billed for an extra night at regular room rate, as a no show after the concierge granted us a group discount!! So much for an accommodation Was told I needed to have cancelled the reservation after the fact?! But who knew the desk rep created an entirely new conf #?! I didn’t until I was billed and NO ONE notified me of any of the charges or alleged damages… they just appeared on my credit card statement Horrible business practices And I’m an HiltonHonors member… very displeased One room was cold, couldn’t find the the thermostat…and the other was dingy, and smelled funny But because we were only there or a few hours at night, and with a group, we dealt with it I usually prefer a much more comfortable and clean environment and should have left

I stayed here for a few nights while the AC in my apartment got repaired Naturally, I was having a very rough day and just wanted a clean, calm space to rest I found just that with this Hampton Inn

The AGM, Tonya, made sure I was comfortable and at ease on what was a very tough day I feel she went the extra mile for me and I am forever grateful It was my birthday, and I’m not sure if anyone saw that on the ID I provided, but the staff truly made me feel more than welcomed and VERY well taken care of Thanks so much to the staff at Hampton Inn Your kindness means so much to me

David Hill

My wife booked two rooms online When I checked in I was told only one room was paid for I gave them my card only to find out later that both rooms were, in fact, paid in advance

Went back to the desk and spoke with the manager who said she would take care of it She credited the charge to my card and then put another charge on it The next day I called three times and left a message, each time was told the manager would soon be in No call back from manager Stayed there again a few days later and was told to meet the manager the next morning at 10am Was told by the front desk that she was supposed to already be in, she was still not in at check out time Left a detailed note with my contact information with a clear request for the manager to call me The original transaction was on June 30 but didn’t receive the credit to my card until July 8 (after filing a complaint online) Never received a call from the manager or anyone elseThat Hampton Inn was always our halfway stop on the way to TN We spent thousands of dollars there each yearEverybody makes mistakes, no problem But most people prioritize the correction of the mistake Not so with this particular manager Not only did she not make it a priority to correct the mistake, she didn’t even show up to work to meet with a customer when she was supposed to A meeting that was offered to me by the staff, I didn’t ask for itPoor management equals no more business from our family! There are other good hotels in the area and they’ll get my business from now on! I suggest you other customers do the same

This hotel is new and very clean Staff are very welcoming and polite My reason for the 3 stars is room design and functionality

There are essentially no drawers to unpack and a very tiny space for hanging clothes Definitely not the place to stay if you need to be there for a week or so Additionally, no microwave in the room, tiny coffee pot did not work and the small fridge door screeched every time you opened it 🙄 it was like nails on a chalk board

Terra V.

Five stars!!! Every stay at the AC Spartanburg has been top notch and the customer service is spectacular! Everyone is so friendly and truly ensure you are comfortable and happy during your stay The rooms are super clean and all the amenities are at your fingertips! I use to love coming here but recently the last 2 times I came it’s been getting worse Last time I was here there was no shower curtain so the water was splashing out into the floor, loud neighbors that had dogs that kept me up the whole time I was here and they didn’t do anything about it but they came complaining to me because the bathroom vent was making a lot of noise This time I came you can tell the shower haven’t been clean, there’s cigarette burns on our blankets, & there’s something black on our toliet paper

Booked hotel for quick overnight on the way to Charleston As a Bonvoy member, I’ve stayed at many Residemce Inns This one was very good

Had a King Suite Daughter slept on pull-out sofa King bed was comfortable had a great nights sleep The efficiency kitchen had a full size refrigerator, two-burner stove, dishwasher and all the pots, plates and utensils you’d need Although we weren’t there long enough to take advantage of kitchenette, it’d be perfect for an extended business traveler or couple staying several days The outdoor patio was really nice A gas grill and gas fire pit was nice Pool was adjacent The breakfast was adequate and offered a variety of options

Nick

Fleas were in my last stay I’ll never come here again Linda, the front desk is extremely rude and aggressive

Management is unhelpful when making complaints The hotel borders the highway, which is extremely loud in the room making it impossible to sleep The entire staff takes over the guest lobby area by constantly hanging out eating and watching TV This hotel gives Marriott’s a bad name!

Please do not believe this place is clean Me and my husband were driving through and what a dump Our room was not cleaned thoroughly

The room had a weird smell to it There were furniture peeling on the floor This is not safe for children and fur babies The shower was very dirty and the bathroom had genital hairs on the floor Gross!!! We left literally now and did not bother to complain If you are a clean person this not for you

Taylor

The staff was all very helpful and sweet, but we were first assigned a room and got upstairs and it was already occupied It took a long time to sort out and then we eventually were upgraded which was great, but they also had to call the room later to see who was in it, and we had to remind them There was also no record of us in the system in the morning to check out

very bizarre so just waiting/hoping on our credit for incidentals to be refundedA bit off the beaten path with construction nearby, and easy to miss in the dark The town itself is fairly depressing if you’re passing through

Nichole Leavell

I enjoyed the room very clean However, the manager was very rude I inquired about if the pool was operational before booking the room

I was insured that it was operational Checked in the clerk said gave the same exact answer Went to the pool it was closed Manager stated they don’t have to offer the pool to guest because it’s a luxury Very rude Asked for a discount since we traveled far and don’t have time to seek another hotel with a pool He said no There were dogs barking all night in one of the rooms on the upper level floors no one done anything after complaining

Great Location , quiet area with other services close by Breakfast was top notch, friendly staff I primarily gave it a 4 because the room just didn’t seem to have been sanitized to new standards

No closet? A pole, shelf and curtain by the windows- an older hotel renovated TV lost signal but I was able to correct by reconnecting cable

Troy Testerman

If you like ant infestation this is your place We asked the front desk for another room but there weren’t any available The insects were literally pouring out of the wall and crawling up my daughters legs

Been Diamond status for years and this is the first time I’ve not been offered any comp waters or snack at checkin Apparently that’s not something done at all Hilton properties, specifically Hampton Inn we were toldIt’s painful to write this but the experience was just so brutal We left at 10pm and drove through the night home since we felt like things were crawling all over us

Hotel #9 of 2022 Great hotel so far, 2 ground levels I called ahead because my digital key had not arrived yet, hotel manager said the room was being cleaned still but immediately switched my room a few rooms down, I also use company wifi devices with a firewall that doesn’t allow browser connectivity for wifi, he had the number on hand immediately upon asking for it, also useful for gaming consoles

Hotel is very quiet The second and first floors are both ground level, but half of the first floor is underground via the hillside the hotel sits in, and is EXTREMELY quiet Located very close to the highway but cannot hear any road nosie Within 10 minutes of eating, or doordash if you work 12-14 a day and don’t feel like sitting down or picking up something So far my stay has been uneventful which is just the way I like it Room is clean Water pressure is good Water is hot Bed is soft 48 inch tv Highly recommend for the traveling man or light sleeper Bonus: Starbucks and QT gas station a stones throw away for those that enjoy snacks and coffee

My experiences at the Spartanburg Marriott are the best I’ve had at a hotelWhen our Mom regularly visits from Atlanta she stays there, and the nicely appointed rooms always make her comfortable and happyHolidays are especially nice, when they put up the giant Christmas tree in the lobby

We usually drink hot chocolate near the tree and it makes for a cozy eveningI have many find memories of staying at the Spartanburg Marriott when big events happen in town, like the recent concert in the city center by the Marshall Tucker Band

Steven Evans

This is a Nice place to Visit, I didn’t give it a Five Star because of some of the other BonVoy places I stay at Outdoor pool was Big,but could’ve used a better cleaning, the Jacuzzi was absolutely Disgusting Bugs,Leaves, and Dirt

It has it’s good and Bad It was convenient for us to watch the Fireworks in Spartanburg It could use some improvements The Bar/Restaurant was decent, the complementary Breakfast was Awesome and the Hostess was Great I’d go back here

Paul Cook

I expected better from the Marriott in SC for $200 per but I got the experience of a budget inn The pool and the hot tub were disgusting There were so many bugs in the pool you could not swim in it

The hot tub had black stuff growing in the bottom of it I have pictures I should have called the health department When I told management about it there response was nonexistent Also the fish and chips in the bar area were awful over cooked and mushy in sideNot a good experience I recommend you stay somewhere elseSincerelyPaul Cook
