This has been one of our favorite places to stay while traveling! All the employees were friendly and greeted us every day A lot of options for breakfast No microwaves in the rooms but had two that guests could use in the breakfast area

They had bags of chips, pop, candy and different freezer meal options available for purchase by the front desk also The pool was an alright size, it went to 45ft that my son likes but my daughter likes when it gets a little deeper They had multiple tables and chairs which I like and big patio couch for bigger families Our room was nice size and perfect for myself and two younger aged kids If we come back up to the area again for an event my kids have already said they want to go to this one again even if it’s not the same hotel as others in our group

Sarah Pinion

This hotel was a great location It was within walking distance of great places to eat and drink The staff was amazing

We had adjoining rooms Upon arrival we found that one of the rooms had not been cleaned The hotel was totally booked but the manager got it cleaned while we went to dinner He then voluntarily comped the room without my asking Based on the way we were treated by everyone at this hotel, we’ll stay here anytime we are in this area visiting family in the future!

Andrea Linton

This is a great hotel to take the family The room was very clean and so were the sheets The pool was nice sized but water was cold

Not a big a deal breakfast had a lot of options, also good for the kids and plus there was a snack section you could purchase The only thing was there wasn’t shampoo and normally I don’t care because I bring my own but this time I didn’t The manager was apologetic and I don’t blame him that there wasn’t any the night of our stay Restaurant across the street and ordering pickup was faster and had a large kids meal Very tasty

Friendly, helpful staff (thank you Shay for the great service and caring smile) Valet and shuttle driver were extra perks! Hot breakfast provided a variety of options (son is gluten free) but odd no brown sugar for the oatmeal Classy yet cozy room with well supplied kitchen

Best of all, first time we’ve stayed in the Twin Cities without waking to sirens or traffic noise (Several were deployed, too)

Stephen Ellis

Stayed here 4 nights with my wife and kids Started with the air conditioner not working in the room We notified them multiple times they gave us a fan

Average room temp was 75-80 degrees Didn’t want to make a big deal because the said the we fixing it By yesterday we’re like pack all our kids up and goto another hotel? We just toughed it out The only good thing about this place is the pool Breakfast was sub par Good thing hopes is next door I mentioned again about the room air and their reply “Said did we tell them” Unreal! You gave me the fan So she comped us the valet parking We didn’t even use valet parking but one night because when we got back the place was surrounded by police cars Been here before a year ago and it is definitely not the same Hit or miss here

Nic Dunseith

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 months while we worked in St Paul The staff here are amazing

The hotel was well kept and well run Extra mention for Shay who made sure we had a room that was in a good location for working night shift and Luke who brush our car off when we didn’t have a snow brush and had a flight to catch the next day I cannot say enough about all of the wonderful people who made our stay amazing I wish I could give this a rating higher than 5 stars Thank you to everyone for going above and beyond – kitchen staff, housekeeping and maintenance, we are so grateful!

Our room was impeccable and bed so comfortable! Very roomy with classic and beautiful furnishings with modern conveniences added So charming was the lobby, live plants and fresh flowers and the valet were dressed in tux tails and top hats Thrilled to stay here! Their bar and restaurant were equally divine

Thanks for a lovely time here!

Extremely convenient and cool locationThe Hotel has a lot of history behind it, but the rooms weren’t worth the price (I do understand the price compared to location, etc) The room was immaculately clean, though

Just not as big as we thought it’d be for what we paidThe staff were fabulous, and extremely friendly They are the primary reason why we’d returnAll in all, a very fun place to visit

Nicole Menard

The hotel was such a nice and clean place The continental breakfast was absolutely delicious! The beds were comfortable but I wish they had firmer pillows The room next to us had a screaming kid, but obviously that’s not the hotel’s fault

I personally felt safe with the feature of having to print a room key to enter the hotel and also to utilize the elevator The staff didn’t seem too enthusiastic when we were checking in, but we still had a wonderful experience overall I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the cities!

Amanda Blomenkamp

First off let me start by saying the hotel itself is very nice It is clean, modern, and very well kept Any employee we encountered was very professional

The rooms does allow lots of noise from the outside We stayed on the 9th floor and could hear people talking from the sidewalks, music, and lots of sirens As far as the location, it is very convenient access to Target Field and Target Center The area including the sidewalks in front of the hotel can actually be somewhat scary There are lots of homeless people loitering and will approach anyone for money, if you say no, they can be very persistent There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel where large groups of homeless people loiter and they are very aggressive towards one another- we witnessed a fight There was also a man peeing right near the hotel on the side walk, another man holding a sign stating “I need weed” I suspect there is quite a bit of drug activity nearby Unfortunately it is not a family friendly location We didn’t feel safe walking around the area They also do not offer on site parking You have to park in a public parking garage across the street Pricing is affordable- $12/night

Brian Thorp

Excellent location and great rates Right by all of the now prominent music venues in downtown and connected to target center / field it’s perfect for staying if you’re doing something thereFront desk person was a little rude when we asked about staying additional nights or where breakfast was

Housekeeping could use some improvement as all chairs had stains and or food still on them along with tattered towels for the bathroomDefinitely will stay here again

Great rooms, comfortable and well appointed We upgraded and had a beautiful view of the Mississippi Daily breakfast was worth it

They have a nice lobby, hallways and parking are very industrial Service was excellent during the day One night I was treated rudely when asking for a corkscrew? Could’ve been 5 stars but the poor night service bothered me I will still go back, well worth another try

Rebecca Helfritz167

I had a wonderful stay I got into the city very early but I had breakfast which was delicious and the staff got me checked when they could I was in town for a friend’s birthday party and everyone was very accommodating

The only downside was that I attempted to print of my boarding pass for the bus and the printer would not work yet I was still charged for the internet use and copies I never actually received

Joe R

Great location on the river with exceptionally friendly staff The river views were very nice but the hotel interior was dark, very tired and in need of updating Other than the desk chair there was no other seating in the room

When I informed the staff that our room had no chair they though it was odd that there was none and told us that they would look into it We never got the chair The hotel parking garage was an adventure The ceilings in the garage were so low that they did not allow vehicles over 5’9″ to enter The lighting in the garage was terrible I felt like we were parking in a cave Next time in the area I think we will try another hotel

Angela Steagall

Terry at the front desk was wonderful She is kind, personable and upbeat She got us the late checkout we needed

Our room was nice and comfortable and the hotel was quiet My one complaint was with the night staff She was rude Seemed like I was bothering her by asking for juice 30 minutes before breakfast Another employee was nice enough to help me Over all a good experience I’m not sure they should have someone with such a negative demeanor working their front desk, even if it is overnight

David Kellermeyer

I almost always book at Hampton Inn

I like the chain and it is generally reliable I seldom if ever write reviews My advice would be to avoid this particular Hampton Inn The property seems old and a bit run down There is a single elevator for a three story hotel No ice machines on either the second or third floor The parking area design is poor I don’t know how well the hotel is managedthe check-in clerk took forever to get me a room and then sent me to a room that wasn’t ready for occupancy I hate to write this, as I am a loyal customer of Hampton, but I would advise people to find a different hotel in the St Paul area I will continue to stay at Hampton Inns, but not at this one

Cassandra Rose

Staff is friendly and the breakfast was good but the rooms are tiny, the bed squeaked every time we moved and there were stains on several things in our room (curtains, desk chair, lounge chair) Hot tub isn’t working either which isn’t a huge deal but it’s one of the only amenities The building is also in a shared parking lot so it was really loud in our first floor room starting around 6am

An absolute dumpThis review is for the hotel portion onlyElevators don’t work

We have to go up and down 12 flights of stairs (twice) Stairways not marked, not lit and several floors were blocked by power tools, cords etc…The rooms are very musty and dirty Tiny sinks and toilets and rooms not stockedNobody who works for the hotel is there They have a person that sits at the front desk, but they are very quick to tell you that they don’t work there Beautiful venue, but don’t ever stay here

Stayed here for a wedding Currently no staff on premises and you get your code to get in and out of the building and roomLocation is convenient to be in downtown St

Paul Did not park a vehicle for my stayElevator was having major issues during stay Was trapped on the 12th floor in the morningNo a/c on in the main parts so the hallways/elevators were hot Room a/c worked thankfullyBathrooms had step up to enter if you have mobility issues Bed was on the firmer side Room had fridge, microwave and kureg machine

Bridget Wolff

The guy was grumpy that checked us in but another front desk person we met was nice We couldn’t use a gift card to pay for our room I booked the king room on booking

com because it was cheaper than booking with the hotel I liked the standard room better that we got the last time we stayed Our room had a kitchen, dishes, wine glasses and mini fridge with freezer We stayed for winter carnival and it was a perfect location The hotel has the top floors of the building St Paul athletic club has an awesome dry and wet sauna and really nice facilities Nice free breakfast but bring your own cup/mug since they only have disposable options They had recycling bin in the room which was a nice touch The housekeeping staff were very nice We love this hotel

Staff wasn’t overly friendly Called ahead to get an early check in, the gal was nice and said it wouldn’t be a problem

but when we checked in, another gal said we couldn’t check-in early So after a 4 hour drive we had to sit in the parking lot Then at 3, we went back and got our room, only to try to open the door and some guy was in the room So we went back to the front desk & they have us another room The air conditioning units don’t work well Beds were comfy, but smaller than the queens I’ve stayed in before Pillows were nice Housekeeping ladies were really nice Only 2 elevators worked and it was during a conference weekend, so that was a pain But it was a convenient location, as I was attending the conference The conference was awesome and the staff helping at the conference were great Overall I wouldn’t go back, and honestly would only recommend it as a last resort to anyone traveling that way

Kim Wilson

AJ was a great help during our stay He helped us with directions several times, he recommended places to eat, things to do, and he got us extra coffee, creamer, and toiletries when we needed them The young lady who worked with him at the front desk was also very pleasant

The beds are super comfortable, and the fridge and in-room coffee maker are great The rooms are very clean We had room service for breakfast, and it was really good I never get enough butter on my toast, but it was perfect The location is close to the mall and the airport, which is nice The box fan in the closet is a great idea for those who need white noise to sleep

Amber K

The service was excellent, and the (wellness) room was practically immaculate There was an adorable “puppy” made out of a towel right when you walk in, and the air was very soothing The staff let us know about all the amenities available, and they were very professional and kind

The pool was down for maintenance, and there is no complimentary breakfast or sauna, but overall it was a very nice hotel experience

Although the hotel was recently remodeled and looked nice there seemed to be some deeper issues The elevators were slow and noisy and didn’t seem to run wellWe had dozens of ants in our room

The ants were in our bathroom as well as on the dresser in the main room The room also did not include a hair dry and a burnt out light bulb in the the bed side table (We did not complain until checkout as we arrived late and were gone all day We noticed the ants when we got back but we leaving early the next morning)When we mentioned the ants and light bulb to the front desk staff at check out they didn’t take note of our room number It was clear they either knew about the ant problem in the hotel or didn’t care they have an ant problem We did not ask for or expect any compensation and were only interested in seeing they cared about the issues This is not a cheap hotel and I expected much better at this price point

Zebulen Dickey

I am a Hilton Honors member and made a reservation at this location for one night being in town for work I had stayed here multiple times before because of its location and I liked the rooms I was asked to show the card I planned on using to pay for the room(the same card I used to make the reservation) and was told that they could not accept it

I explained to the gentleman at the front counter that it was a business card that I use while traveling and have used it at this location before as recently as the week before He said that was irrelevant and he couldn’t do anything to help I was quite furious when I left Especially because it was 1030 at night and I was exhausted I got to my vehicle, cancelled my reservation and made another one at the Hampton Inn 5 minutes down the road and didn’t have any issues paying with the same card that was turned down earlierI don’t ever plan on recommending this location to anyone nor do I plan on staying here againThank you

Kacey Hammer

Rooms and public spaces were clean, which is rare these days Housekeepers said hi when they saw us in the hallways, which is niceFront desk staff wasn’t very friendly and they forgot to fulfill our request a few times

Elevator was very slow the last day When we asked about it, the front desk was obviously irritated that they had to answer about the slow elevatorPool is indoors but well maintained and clean with towels at the ready

The lobby is nice Valet parking was convenient The morning we left, there were dozens of other people leaving too and waiting for valet

The desk staff and valet people were really hustling and did a good job getting lots of cars quicklyThe room was not great There was no mattress pad on the bedjust a fitted sheet directly on the mattress The room was not cleaned well There was dried mascara on the sink leftover from a previous guest The door handles and high touch surfaces had residue and marks showing that they clearly take no time to wipe down or properly clean such areas The shower was not cleanTheir saving grace is that they are right across the street from the excel center, which is convenient for attending events However, it may be worth it to stay elsewhere in a cleaner room and take an Uber or pay for event parking instead!

Bethany Rose Larson

We were in town for a difficult family trip (saying goodbye to a loved one), so for us, this place was a haven of much-needed rest It’s been recently remodeled and has a new feel, even though you can tell by the ceilings that the building has old bones The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast room packed but kept up with, and most memorable were the staff, who were kind and helpful

The only thing I wish I would have known about beforehand was that there was a parking lot *right* behind the hotel, which could have saved us the $35 valet fee (though the valet guys were great) We literally walked into our room, opened the windows, and looked down onto the park-and-pay parking lot It would have been a short walk up a hill and around a corner with our suitcases, definitely worth the $35 plus tips! Oh well! If we’d been having a sight-seeing trip, it would have been a perfect location for downtown events and the riverwalk Another time, perhaps!

Tara Miller

We went to a Minnesota Wild game, and love the convenience and location of the hotel to the Xcel Energy You are given valet parking, so you don’t have to find a spot to park and pricing is reasonable They have breakfast in the morning from 6 to 10 am

we have stayed there a few times for games and all the experiences have been good Would reccommend

Awesome hotel! They have great security You cannot access the use of the elevator or secure parking garage without a key, nor the building itself They do charge you under $20 for parking but it’s worth it

They have breakfast and a decent selection of items The hotel is well kept and the rooms were very clean and nice Was disappointed in the size of the pool They do have a little kids area w/ pool that’s not at all deep with a slide and water spout type contraption The staff were all friendly and helpful Location was okay but I never had a reason to go out and about in the city We were in town visiting family Double check your charges after you check out It might have been a fluke but I had mysterious charge that they did end up refunding me for Jim is one of the managers at this hotel and he was very professional, patient and helpful when resolving this issue I definitely would stay again

After having a horrible experience at Best Western Como park, we cancelled our reservations and went here Feeling so let down by our first encounter with such unprofessional staff, this place was a breath of fresh air!! The check in process was perfect The receptionist, Jacky, was so friendly and helpful!! It was beautiful, bright and clean! Location was perfect! They even have a beautiful, little attached patio to enjoy outside

I highly recommend this hotel and our family looks forward to visiting again as this is where we will always stay in the future:)

Breakfast was good Fresh and many options Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable

A little disappointed with the pool and jacuzzi listing as the jacuzzi was the entirety of the whole pool We were expecting more of a hot tub or separate area for jacuzzi Otherwise, it was fine Staff were very friendly and the building was very secure

I stayed here about a month ago in March 2022 when Elton John was playing at the Xcel Energy Center across the street The location of the hotel for that was absolutely perfect It was a bit pricey but absolutely worth it for the convenience

The room was clean and well-maintained The staff were all really helpful and polite as well I actually had to call them after I got home (out of state), because I had forgotten my good pair of headphones in my room I was sure I’d never see them again, that they’d be gone forever However, the staff were able to find them and mail them back to meI would 100% stay here again if I was going to attend an event there across the street

Key card wouldn’t work to let us into the building Someone else had to let us in Loud people yelling and running up and down the hallway late into the night

Food was left in the fridge from whoever stayed here before us For the price not worth it But for the convenience of being across from the concert Okay Customer service was awesome when checking in

This is a food review of their first floor bar/sports pub We attended the first 2022 Wild home playoff game and had plenty of time for a pre-game meal My wife and I ordered: a bacon cheeseburger, order of traditional bone-in chicken wings and a side order of beer-battered onion rings

All 3 were excellant The onion rings were about the best I’ve had in a long time Despite the place being jammed just 90 minutes before game time, the wait staff was very attentive Well done

I was really pleasantly surprised at how fantastic our stay was given the price was cheaper than the competition I expected, given reviews, that it would be good, but it was great! Excellent staff at the desk, who even offered to help find a discount given why we were in townThe food staff, who were kind and helpful, and created quality way above hotel normal food

Really, way better than your average hotel food–and free! Lobby and rooms were clean, well appointed, and comfortable I watched multiple times how staff took pride in their work; I watched a staff member pass just a tiny paper on the floor He stopped and picked it up They all appeared happy, too I highly recommend!

Stayed for almost 3 weeks while my loved one was in Regions Hospital The staff were amazing They were so friendly, helpful, and understanding with all the stress I was under

The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, hot breakfast and supper daily and free adult drinks at supper Which really took alot of stress off me Plus they have guest laundry room so I could wash clothes! Wish I would have made it too the pool They also have 4 elevators centrally located so there was little wait

I travel a lot on business, and this hotel was a wonderful surprise I often feel claustrophobic in small hotel rooms, but the rooms at this hotel are remarkably large, with 20 foot ceilings and enough floor space that other hotels might call the rooms suites The furnishings and the lobby are very nice, and the free breakfast is quite good

There is only a shower — no tub — in the bathroom, but that is the only negative that I can think of It has all the other common amenities I rate this hotel very highly

Buck M

Aside from finding the right entrance to access the parking, this place is delightful It’s the old post office, and the renovation into a hotel kept some architectural elements intact Like 20′ high ceilings in the room, 10′ wide hallways and brass elevator doors, replete with post office iconography

Very comfortable, very modern, but still personable Staff was very friendly and still professional Yes, I would stay here again

Michael Nelson-Ostrowski

We stayed one night and the room and service were great I was surprised at how tall the ceilings were and the building had quiet of bit of historical nature to it We got stuck with an interior room so it was good as the room could provide as our only views were of the interior building

The only downside (and likely the result of it being in St Paul) was the parking When coming down it seemed like there was on site parking with unlimited parking but the only thing they had was valet so that felt a bit deceitful but that could be my fault for reading The plus side is the parking ramp across the street was only $5 for our overnight

My family and I stopped here on our way through headed home from a week in the boundary waters Everyone was very friendly We booked late at night and showed up even later but the staff was very ready to help

Unfortunately we did not get the two double bed rooms we requested so that everyone could get their own bed but they did say they were full with a wedding and wrestling That being said It would have been really nice to know that it would not be what we requested before we got up to our roomsThat being said the 5 stars reflect the rest of our stay! My room was immaculate, the cookies were warm, the shower was so clean and refreshing, and the bed was incredibly comfortable The next morning we enjoyed a very hot and fresh breakfast on the second floor where Moe was very attentive to our coffee and needs! The coffee was fresh and hot and the bacon perfectly cooked! You could tell the staff are all hard workers!I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would like to personally thank each of the staff members we had the chance to interact with!

Friendly staff and great breakfast! I stayed for 2 nights in a king room The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable As mentioned in other reviews, the room was a little dated; however, nothing terrible

Parking was nice in the ramp, and the elevator opened right to the hotel lobby You do have to pay for breakfast, but there were a lot of options, and in my opinion, it was worth it I would recommend the hotel! There wasn’t a lot of traffic downtown on the weekend so that was nice as well

Rebecca Bang

First thing, great staff Every staff member we crossed paths with was pleasant and helpful Biggest kudos to Anita that checked us in

Gave info on best places to eat and gave hints on best way to navigate and get around downtown! The hotel is older as others have said and not a ton open as we thought would be Alliance Bank Center hard to get through and not a lot of restaurants open there like we thought, but still walking distance to Xcel Arena and other food options Overall room was clean, good price, restaurant in lobby was open, so overall, 5 stars because to me customer service makes or breaks it and their customer service is top notch

Great stay, super clean The restaurant was amazing Also, we hosted a breakfast party in one of the ballrooms and our server, Elsa, was beyond phenomenal

She went to every length to make sure our wants were satisfied, even thinking of things we didn’t ask for to make our party run smooth Wish I could find people like her for all our events! If you host an event, definitely ask for her to be your room server! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had a fantastic stay over the weekend We were there in celebration of our daughters fifth birthday and the staff made it so special for her at every turn They even delivered a birthday amenity which included a JW teddy bear with a card signed by all the hotel staff for her

How thoughtful! Ben at the front desk at Terry at the bar were awesome along with many other staff we interacted with but didn’t catch their names Seriously one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at recently Thanks so much and we will be back soon!

Hannah Turley

The staff is friendly and attentive We ate breakfast at Cedar and Stone nearly every morning of our 5-night stay and were impressed with the quality and portions My husband is Marriott platinum elite and we were upgraded to a suite, which was a nice surprise

We enjoyed being able to relax in the living room area of our room Most importantly to me is that even though the hotel got pretty full during our mid-July stay, I never heard a peep from another room next to or above us I appreciated the ability to peacefully rest on my vacation without hearing noise from other rooms We will be back!

Gregory Koch

Stayed here for five nights in July/August 2022 Staff were friendly and were able to check me in about 90 minutes early because of when my flight got in, rooms were clean and quiet, and wifi was fast and free Breakfast was good and free for me due to my Hilton Honors status though some others may have to pay

Everything about my stay was awesome, no complaints at all Shower was nice, toilet was nice, room was awesome and not a pesky adjoining room where I worry about the dude next to me who is a complete stranger Would highly recommend in MSP area Only complaint is there isn’t much in the immediate vicinity, but if you want to stay closer to stuff you’ll need to pay more so that’s just how it is

Conveniently located by the airport and Mall of America While the hotel is not new it is clean The BEST part that will bring me back is the service

The front desk staff was amazingly attentive and helpful AND the shuttle service to the airport the Mall or within the area runs 24 hours and by request All three drivers we had were amazing – super friendly, helpful and in a very genuine way This place should do training for others on customer service

Sara DePew

I chose this hotel based on the brand name (I had been happy with Marriott stays before) and the free shuttle to the Mall of America I would definitely stay here again! The staff was courteous and polite, the restaurant was great to have breakfast before starting the day, and the shuttle ran once an hour to the mall Bonus that I was not expecting, the pool was a SALT water pool, so there was no pesky chlorine smell after swimming

Victoria Ortega

The hotel was clean It’s definitely dated but I was pleased with how much maintenance was constantly happening for cleanliness Our room did have a strange smell and the carpet looked like it needed some extra vacuuming, but overall, it was relatively clean

Big Pool, nice gym with water cooler, outdoor seating area, plenty of parking and a short walk to the bus stop that will take you directly to the Mall of America It’s about a 20 minute drive to downtown Minneapolis and a 5 minute drive to the mall At this time, they are not servicing rooms, if you need extra towels or want fresh bedding, it is all upon request
