My stay: rooms great, staff, bar, gym, and lobby operations were solidMy gripe: After check out, my issue started specifically with incorrect billing and tax exemption Poor communication, inconsistent customer service, and several phone calls last week and this week on hold (or on the constant corporate hold that hotels are famous for “dial 1 for reservations, dial 2 for

etc) I spent a lot of time with minimal resolve, did not get a call back yesterday (Monday) that I was told I would receive by 11 am as well as no emailed corrected invoice I get they have certain tax exemption protocol, but if they inconsistently apply the policy then that helps no one I’m tax exempt on one invoice but not the other, as well as using a government travel charge card I get it, Utah has specific tax laws but lets use the common sense approach Using a government travel card has it’s own rules and limitations and it’s simply not paid in a timely manner unless invoices are correctly billed and documentedOn top of that, the Hilton point of sale/billing system is hard to interpret especially when it comes to refunds and how it reads (corporate problem, not a staff issue)If the poor staff doesn’t have enough time to handle incorrect billing issues (since they’re busy checking people in and out/daily operations) then Isabella/managers should figure out the root cause Possible solutions could include the managers being more active in their work centers or B Staff more folks, which could be hard in the current job market When a customer becomes frustrated when the business didn’t handle something correctly last week or this week that was originally agreed upon, don’t act nonchalantly as Isabella did which could easily imply or be interpreted it’s not your problem That “not my problem, OK anything else?” perception is what prompted me to write this

As far as hotels go, this one was pretty good The rooms were clean, mostly well taken care of, and the hall ways didn’t have that classic musty carpet hotel smell So as far as cleanliness goes, it was 5 star for sure

But my 4 star rating reflects the fact that I could easily hear the folks in the room above mine walking around, which was annoying at 5am when they started each day, you can hear the other room doors slam when guests come and go withing several doors of my room, and the on site bar/restaurant was closed down for a month due to liquor violations during my stay which was annoying, but not the end all since their are several places for food within walking distance I’d stay here again for sure, but would request a room away from other guests as much as possible next time due to the noise

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night on a business trip, and really enjoyed the stay! Parking is free and convenient, and the location of the hotel is great for walking around the downtown area The rooms are smaller and a bit more “minimalist,” which is great for someone traveling alone on business The complimentary breakfast was great – with a fun waffle/pancake bar

The decor in the hotel is colorful and inviting, and I would definitely recommend!

Hit and miss stays at this location I’ve stayed about 7 times total- – – – -Some points:1

Extremely clean room Shower soap dispensers sometimes not filled Paper thin walls Hard floors add to the noise AC/Heater quite loud B2 Terrific lobby area with pool table, games, business lounge area, TV and more A3 Nice breakfast but most times tables have not been cleared and juices need refilled A-4 Check in/out Usually good but dicey if sold out Call ahead to verify B5 Good pool and hot tub Often out of towels B- – – – -This is my go-to hotel and will return Despite the noise, my kids and I don’t mind but others might Ask for a corner room and away from groups I appreciate that cleanliness is taken seriously here I consider the issue I had at check on to by an anomaly All the other fixes are easy, they just need to be done- – – – -Overall Grade: B+- – – – -#1 Tip: Stay if cleanliness is your #1 concern

Madelyn Graff

I was unpleasantly surprised how terrible our stay wasRight off the bat the receptionist had some major attitude for no reason Dark haired Asian girl with curly hair

Got offended I didn’t know which part our booking was underWent to the pool for a little while, got back to our room and in the shower to realize the body wash and conditioner was completely out I called down to get some brought to our room, and someone came about 15 minutes later (All while my husband is waiting in the shower) after she left I realized she gave me shampoo and conditioner Still no body wash It would normally not be a big deal but after swimming it’s definitely needed to wash off Called back down and the receptionist said they would bring some up IF she saw the cleaner lady again My husband waited literally another 30 in the shower waiting for it to come and finally decided he didn’t want to spend all night in the shower I got in and then washed with shampooOnce it was time to sleep we realized the street next to us is basically a drag racing strip and extremely loud

Our room wasn’t clean, found PILLS from previous people under the bed, the couch at the front desk is nasty, our curtains and walls by the bathroom looked like they had blood on them, you can TELL they don’t clean the floors, there was something brown under the other bed, tv kept glitching out, it’s got images burning into the screen, buttons on the side I’m 90% positive are programmed not to work I loved the location, it’s close to everything, service was ok

A friend of mine helped me get this room with their employee discount The deposit alone was $500 since we were locals They told us locals tend to tear up the rooms by throwing parties

Not my intention The staff there are quite snobby with no reason to be they tried to charge my debit card for $1000 for the room for six days as well as the incidental hold I paid cash for both the room and the deposit The girl that checked me in spoke so fast I could not understand what she was saying and I asked her to repeat herself several times The room itself seemed to me to be no better then a motel six room The only difference was the Holliday inn room had no fridge or microwave The breakfast was pretty bad also Cardboard would have had more flavor The nice thing about it was they had great shampoo and conditioner The beds were OK but I did ask for a wake up call and did not receive one I could not imagine paying full price for that room Even the guest laundry was a bad experience There soap dispenser was empty but still took my money And the one washer that did work had so much soap clogged up in the dispenser that the previous guest dug out all the soap jamming it up I did not know that they expected their guests to just deal with it I can say the young man that checked us out was very nice and I still wonder why he isn’t working to check people in since the girl that checked me in could use a lesson in manners and customer engagement She should have not started my stay there with an attitude like it was her own personal hotel and could treat customers badly

We stayed here for a local soccer tournament Front desk staff was kind, professional and helpful The hotel itself is a little run down but the customer service made up for that

The housekeeper for our room was one of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever met! She would always say good morning and send us off with encouragement for my daughters game We could barely understand what she was saying, it was all in Spanish but it didn’t matter! You could tell she meant what she said and truly had a heart of gold! There isn’t enough people like this is the world anymore Even though she knew we probably couldn’t understand the encouragement, it didn’t stop her from giving it! Give her a raise and keep her around!

Sara L.

Staff was lovely, hotel was not The stairwell & common areas we used to access our room was in need of a good cleaning The chairs & furniture in our room was worn with the material rubbed away

We needed to request shower gel & towels for the room For $200/night (and from Holiday Inn Express) I expect a clean and comfortable experience This was not

I would of given this site a one star but the housekeeping staff is awesome Checkin is at 4 pm , we had 2 rooms reserved for months On arrival only one room was ready so we tried to keep 8 people in one room

The adjoining room was empty but never cleaned till 630 pm Imagine babies crying and toddlers melting it was not good Front desk staff was so unhelpful and were rarely at desk during our stay Tv didn’t work, no extra blanket in room for kids -when I went to desk, no staff there to get anyphone just sent me to answering machine Food at breakfast was not great This was our first and last time at a Best Western We will stay with Hilton/Hampton Inn they are worth the extra money

We stayed at this hotel for two nights At first I was disappointed since there was no toilet paper in our room and one of the soap bars was broken The tissues were almost out too

And…there was a sign up in the room that maid service had to be requested When we went to the front desk to get the missing supplies, and asked for maid service, the front desk attendant told us rooms were only cleaned if guests stayed for four days or more! But…the next morning we called and asked for maid service and everything did improve We came back after a day of skiing in Snow Basin to a very nice and clean room that had excellent maid service Also, the food in the adjacent restaurant for dinner was wonderful even though the complimentary buffet breakfast wasn’t all that great On the morning we checked out, we went swimming in the wonderful warm indoor pool and hot tub The front desk people on check out day and our second day there were great too By the way, the beds were very comfortable! I would definitely return to this hotel now

Hotels can be hit or miss As far as I’m concerned, this hotel was perfect in every way for us The price was good

The room was clean, well stocked, and updated The AC worked phenomenally despite the 101° temperature outside The breakfast was exceptional The pool and hot tub were well maintained The bed and pillows were comfortable There was ample parking It is super close to the freeway and gas stations The service was great (Shout out to Carson for his great dinner recommendations) There is just nothing more you could want in a hotel They even have a bubble wall in their lobby that entertained my child for a good amount of time!

DJ Matthews

This is my first time at a Comfort Suites I must say I was pleasantly surprised The room was spacious comfortable and well decorated

It was clean and I felt very comfortable They have a nice breakfast it’s included with your stay It’s in the restaurant that is connected to the hotel Nice fireplace in the lobby And service was excellent ! I wish I had have been staying for more than one night!

My Dad and I recently had to take a trip back to Utah for a family event For the price, it was awfully dirty not over the fact that they are recently doing some renovations but just the cleanliness of our room was gross They need to change the comforters more often

There was makeup all over my dad’s bedding Also the bathtub was extremely slick Would suggest putting a non slip mat down for more safety Front desk Brandon was very welcoming I think he worked swing on the night we arrived Not the greatest location considering it being on a busy highway

Literati Editors

Joseph helped me and my mom This is one of THE BEST customer service experiences I’ve ever had I have stage four cancer and came down for a 3-day bout of treatments and scans from a different state

This can sometimes feel like a fiasco because of everything I’m going through But Joseph, the man at the front desk, was so personable and nice He made me and my mom feel so much better He even helped walk us out after our first visit to the front deskThank you so much for your kindness to us If I still had my own business, I would offer this man a job Wow!!!

Thomas Phelan

Hotel is in the midst of renovations, which is fineBut the room renovations are done poorly Fit and finish is bad

There are cracked tiles, poorly installed fixtures and cracked sink in the bathrooms Coffee maker is missing parts so is not functionalThere are also safety issues – door for the stairs sticks and is hard to open Doors are not labeled No fire exit routes are indicated in the rooms There is an office chair blocking the second floor landing Given the attention to quality with the renovations, I would suspect that safety systems (sprinklers, alarms, etc) likely suffer the same lack of attentionI would not recommend staying at this hotel I understand it is converting to Holiday Inn after renovations, but I doubt changing the sign is going to change the safety of the building or the quality of the roomsSorry, I don’t like to post bad reviews, but this hotel should be much much better than it is, and it is not an issue of changing the furnishings

The location is nice, in the middle of the town and walking distance to many places I was stopping through on a road trip so we stayed for less than 10 hours You can either park in the parking garage or in the 2 hour parking (if you get in late at night and leave by 10:30)

The staff was friendly, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable There’s a fitness center, pool and some outdoor seating As a gold member, you also get a $10 breakfast credit but we opted for points instead as it didn’t cover an entire meal (unless you count oatmeal as that)I called ahead to reserve a room, stating multiple times that I had a pet with me I was quoted $166 (including fees) and I assumed that was the pet fee too To my surprise, it was an extra $75 making the room $250 a nightThere were a handful of small issues in the room that would have me look elsewhere The street noise is so, so loud I brought earplugs and could still hear engines revving/people being loud from the 4th floor For a 3 star hotel, a lot of small details were missed A k-cup was left in the machine which was kind of gross and the alarm from the previous guest was set at 6am so we got a surprise wake up then I honestly had a better stay at a motel than we did here, which was disappointing since this stay cost $130 more

Jessie Areyn

It’s not bad But you can do better It is a old hotel, the walls and carpets are stained significantly, as well as the shower

The location however is amazing, just a few minutes away from historic downtownBeware of creepers I had a gentleman last night bang and bang on my door, convinced our room was his He finally went away, but the morning after, we found two room cards stuck under the door After going out for the afternoon, we came back to find our own room cards were deactivated Just a little fishy However, overall it’s not a bad place to crash Just needs a little TLC

Kelly Mickles

Booked the suite and after enjoying a night out returning to the room we had no power This made it impossible to close the blinds watch the TV use the fireplace or the heater in the living room Maintenance was sent up and worked on this issue for over an hour before they let us know that there were no other suites available to switch rooms and could not fix the problem

Kylie at the desk and she would give us a call and let us know what we could do At 10:30 PM called back Kylie had left for the evening Since it was so late we remained in a room Second person who came to cover evening shift was very helpful and nice Upon check out Kylie was back And stated that she had no authority to refund us or give us a comp room for another night Told us pretty much someone would contact us still have not heard anything from management

I rate my experiences in hotels by comfort and service Customer service was wonderful Especially the sweet kitchen employee who saw me looking around the lobby for a charger and offered me hers

The rooms were decent but very warm, even with A/C set at 68 and walls are paper thin But it was a beautiful location and was overall not a bad stay

Gideon Penick

This place is awesome I stayed in 509, by the elevator and never knew the elevator was making a sound Super quiet rooms, clean, awesome city view

Breakfast was perfect I made a mess on accident and the staff was immediately cleaning up after my clumsy self Wish I could have a tour of the building The architecture is delightful to look at and enjoy

GiGi Ropp

I was SO impressed by this beautiful historic hotel! It had the amenities of a Hampton Inn with the character of an old (and likely haunted) building! The marble staircases and cold air conditioning definitely made up for the sketchy parking lot, but I wish breakfast was served later than 9am I also really enjoyed that they had a pamphlet about the history of the hotel at the front desk!

Stayed here for a week for work and loved everything about it! Hauntingly beautiful and mystic! Rooms are big and comfortable The staff were excellent an informed The piped in music was such a great touch! Full restaurant was closed while I visited, but the kitchen still put out some great food! Best steak I’ve had in Utah! Can’t wait to get to go back!

Bigelow Hotel OgdenThis hotel has class and vibe, and is a really nice change of pace and breath of fresh air from your typical chain hotel Loved the jazz music playing as you pull up to the hotel Hotel concierge was friendly and helpful and check in was super fast

Really loved the historic feel and vintage layout of this hotel, this place has a lot of personality Even though it’s an old building the place is really up to date and nice The rooms were huge and beds were ultra comfortable, and I liked that there was a door I could close between the 2 rooms since I’m a light sleeper The HDTV by the master bed must have been 50 inches which was awesome, and each bed had their own TV Our room even had a whirlpool with jets which was extremely relaxing and helped get me ready for a extra refreshing sleep! The views of the mountains from my hotel room were breathtaking and were reason enough to stay here! This place is too cool to pass up, any time I come through Ogden again this is where I will stay! 5/5

This review not about a room but more about customer service My son and his then fiancee had booked your venue for wedding I am not sure what happened, but about a month or two prior to when supposed to take pkace, his fiancee was notified via EMAIL (not sure if follwed by call) that no longer booked there because place was sold

I understand things happen, but since not THEIR fault, I have issue with deposit being kept Not sure of reason sold, so that may have something to do with it, but my son’s now wife was not sure why could not get it back What is ghe reason? I don’t care if contract had non-refundable deposit (wasn’t there so no clue) as they should get it back or at least half since they are not the ones to make the change Not happy

I really loved the location of this hotel, right by the entrance of base, convenient to the highway but not too loud, and very easy to get to I stayed here for 4 nights and I really loved how clean this hotel looked and felt The app even has the key card for your room which I loved because it was so easy to use

The staff was so kind to my son and myself during our stay, even on a rough day for my son there was a worker (Angie?) that would interact and talk with him This is a hotel I’d easily go back to for the amazing service and because our stay was just painless

We’ve been traveling cross country for the past couple of weeks and stopped here on our way home It was our favorite hotel out of the whole trip The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, including an early check-in when we were deliriously tired from a long drive

Room was very clean, smelled great, bed and pillows were extra comfortable Good breakfast, and the grab and go snack bar was super reasonably priced with a great selection, unlike most hotels Soft-close doors and quiet hallways helped us sleep through the day and rest up for the rest of our drive A great hotel for a reasonable price! Cannot recommend enough Great job, staff! Also, A++ for stocking womens products in the lobby bathroom I love supporting businesses that do this!

The room was just the way I like them

super clean and functional The big screen and remote actually worked The AC was cold Every one seemed to be smiling which is rare these days It would be nice if there was a couple of restaurants close by so you didn’t have to get on the interstate Jimmy John’s worked fine Many thanks to everyone at Hill AFB Hilton TruI was there during airshow weekendI had the potential for disaster, but everything was perfect

I’ve stayed here a few times The staff has always been friendly, fun and professional The beds are great

I like the bistro My granddaughter loves the pool When I stayed there a month ago, an expensive watch I’ve owned for 25 years fell out of my bag I thought for sure I’d never see it again When I stayed there this week, I asked the front desk person to check t he lost and foundshe walked back out with the watch! I was so thankful for their honesty I will stay here many more times!

Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, but the hotel is not well maintained It appears the last renovation was done on the cheap and was not well planned The furniture did not fit the room at all and the cabinetry was falling apart

The third floor smelled like cigarette smoke and the wall plates and room phones had the coloration to match The toilet seat was discolored (from age) and was missing piecesAgain, it was clean and the staff was fine, but the property has been neglected and is not worth the price I’m staying at a Hilton Garden Inn a few hours away tonight, at the same price point, and it’s on another level Well appointed/designed rooms, updated fixtures, and spotless No weird smells Exactly what you’d expect from a hotel on this tierAs a side note, Mobile Key did not work at the Courtyard, but worked flawlessly at the Hilton

My 3 week stay at this property was pleasant The bed was comfortable and the room was spaciousThe room was was clean but dated

The one thing that was bothersome in the kitchen was the old 4 burner electric stove, whose heating elements wouldn’t lay flat unless you had a heavy pan on themThe breakfast was fair, but most of the times I came down to eat all 3 tables were occupied This forced me to cook my own breakfast in my room Not a game changer for me, since my breakfast was healthier and tastier than provided by the hotelThe hotel staff was friendly and accommodating I would return in the future if in the area

Ridiculous pet fee They charged a $75 pet fee for one night I had stayed at the same chain the night before in Twin Falls with no pet fee required

I booked through Priceline again so there wasn’t anything I could do when I got there and found out about the pet fee at 11:00 pm I travel with my pets a lot, and I’ve never paid this much a night for a pet fee, even at very nice vacation homesAlso, this hotel is not very nice and shouldn’t even be a Marriott Our room had a weird, bad stale cigarette smell It looks like they are trying to update the place, but they should have used an odor barrier paint It’s a poorly done update and there’s not enough overhead lighting in the roomIn the end I paid over $220 for the night between the hotel pet fee and Priceline I could’ve stayed in a much nicer place for this price The location is convenient to Antelope Island, and the staff was professional, but I recommend choosing a different hotel in the area I would not have chosen this hotel if I’d seen it first Basically, it’s on the same level as Motel 6 even though the same chain in Twin Falls was super nice

Bad experience from beginning to the end Flights got delayed night before reservation couldn’t make the first day of stay but needed the other nights, called spoke to Asia, she said no problem everything will stay the same they would just move the reservation to the next day, same time(not true—changed the day and doubled the rate) I conveyed that it’d be okay and they could just start charges(good rate so didn’t mind) and I’d honor rest of my stay; said —since I was a platinum member that they’d just move it up no problem, wouldn’t charge for the night, not to worry)

Next day checked in the evening at approx 730pm, Lobby was dirty, old water (ice melted, “floaties”” in water, dirty looking receptacle for water, used straws and straw paper all around area), waited 10 minutes while front desk finished laundry, went to grab complimentary coffee—all out—checked in— Lady couldn’t find reservation, made it to feel as if we were a burden, finally found a “misplaced” welcome envelope card that already had keys etc because we were platinum members- Went to our building, poorly light hallways, staircase, smelled strongly of Marijuana at a Reggaefest, so strong I was coughing-Got into room, door didn’t fully close—I figured I could just rough it, walked into room 1(had a two bedroom suite) and heard a loud banging thought something was wrong ,apparently we were next to laundry room, room also smelled of Mary Jane Wife desperately wanted to leave, I said let’s just do one night then leave She’s goes to shower, shower has half used bar of soap and no toiletries I’m telling wife it’s okay we’re goodget into bed, half asleep phone starts ringing (it’s close to 10p) Ignore it, calls again— I’m like who’s calling, front desk called to see if we needed a late check out-? Wasn’t to happy—went to front desk gave our keys and left—do not like confrontation Didn’t want to argue or deal with front desk —drove to next town and got a hotelSTAY FAR AWAY From this Marriott! I’ve literally stayed at most the Marriott’s in Utah, this one is by far the worst!!

Hotel is very outdated and has an old smell to it Elevator is so slow and small that we used the stairs almost always to the 4th floor Our bathroom was DISGUSTING! Hair in the tub and in piles on the floor

You could tell that it had not been cleaned, as there is layers of dust on baseboards Door frames in room are falling off Food was on the floor that had not been vacuumed The pool/hot tub needs cleaned If you did not get down for breakfast early, there were limited options, as it took them too long to refill Gentlemen at the desk during the night was trying his hardest to keep up with all the demands I planned to talk to the front desk upon check out, but a gentlemen was standing there talking to the lady running the desk, which he had been there both days I was there just chatting with herI did enjoy the quietness of the rooms

Our truck broke done on our way home and some family friends recommended this hotel Let me just say this is the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed at! All the staff was so friendly especially Pam! Pam was able to get us a hotel room even when they were almost sold out and called multiple hotels around the area to try and get us a room when they were all booked out the next day Such great customer service

Highly recommend this hotel! Breakfast was great and they even serve dinner! Along with being dog friendly

We LOVED staying here! They offer a small managers meal on the weekdays and with our family of five, it was the perfect surprise on our first night stay! The complimentary breakfast had a huge variety and even with picky eaters, we left stuffed and satisfied Robbie was the first employee we spoke with when we called to book and he was there at the hotel with a friendly smile and willingness to help us every day of our stay All of the staff was friendly, polite, and accommodating

We used the fitness center, the pool, and had a complimentary full breakfast every morning Our room was larger than we expected and had plenty of room for the five of us to have our own space It was clean and we had lots of fluffy pillows and extra blankets in our room We had warm, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies each night and couldn’t wait to see what was for breakfast the next day The Western Omelet and waffle toppings were our favorite Robbie was our favorite employee, he made us feel like VIP’s from our phone call to book through checkout We would absolutely stay here again!

We mostly enjoyed staying here for 4 nights The kids enjoyed swimming in the pool and the staff was friendly and helpful The room was spacious and mostly pretty quiet

The beds were comfortable Most everything was about what I’ve come to expect from HamptonsThe breakfast was nothing too special I would say mediocre at best for me I’ve definitely had better at other hotels It was nearly the same food every morning It would have been nice to just get some scrambled eggs and maybe some bacon one day at leastThe desk chair in the room was stained and dated looking It was not very comfortable to sit in I was a bit surprised they didn’t have a nicer office chairI appreciated the staff doing a good job getting our trash and cleaning up the room a bit each day The hotel is pretty conveniently located and I think we would stay there again
