I travel for a living & have experience with hotels When checking in & out the desk clerks were courteous & helpful I rated 3 stars only because of the friendliness of the clerks

The hotel itself needs an extreme makeover & deep clean Our room smelled of dirt & grime The carpet was sticky & filthy to the point we would not walk on it without shoes Our bathroom vent was covered in a layer of dust that was so thick it looked more like a air filter layed over the vent, which is dangerous & can cause overheating & a subsequent fire The outdoor gazebo & grilling area was filthy & sticky & we would not entertain even sitting in the chairs The trash can under the gazebo smelled awful like soured milk & rotten food & even if the chairs had been clean enough to sit on the smell would prevent you from doing so There is not a breakfast of any sort, not even energy bars or juice though there was a sign that read “free fresh fruit” but none was ever set out Even post COVID most places still offer at least fresh fruits and bottled beverages Our bill was $144 which included $2726 for a pet fee which is reasonable considering we checked in on July 3rd & Checked out on July 4th which would have been considered a holiday weekend, but the floors & carpeting were so dirty I did not even want my dog walking on them The room did have a small cook top, a smaller full size refrigerator/freezer, dishes, microwave & dishwasher which was a perk traveling with two children

Terrible Roaches in room Customer service was lacking

ELevator was out of service and 2 out of 3 wash machines that I specifically stayed at Candlewood for were out of serviceWhen issues were brought up to the guy behind counter he acted indifferent For the price, stay elsewhere The maid service was good and they were friendly, but that is the only positive

Roberto Parker

Dirtiest, worst kept place I’ve ever stayed One star is because it’s required Bathroom was covered in water, chairs obviously hadn’t been cleaned in months, bedding smelled, appliances didn’t work

They either don’t have staff, don’t check on their staff, or the staff doesn’t care Plenty of other places to stay nearby & they’re worth the price increase

We were in a suite and it was spacious and very nice Breakfast was also great Room was clean

The only reason I rated this a 4 is because it was very pricey and I know from traveling and staying at comparative hotels that I would have paid $100 less for the same type of roomThere aren’t many choices in this town so maybe that’s why Overall good experience

Cleanliness – GoodValue – GoodBreakfast – Good – kudos to the lady who made the breakfast She was running herself raggedThings to note: The bed was very comfortable

The other furniture in the room was dated The bathroom had no hairdryer The bottle of hand lotion in the bathroom was half used The shower gel and conditioner were empty The outside smelled like pot

John W

Room was fine Damaged wall where a picture had been I arrived in the late evening, I didn’t have a car on this trip and getting a meal was more trouble than it was worth

Domino’s wouldn’t deliver and the front desk snack pantry was empty except for some granola bars When I asked to have the granola bars charged to the room the desk clerk told me “that’s not allowed” Breakfast was cold and sparse at 830 There are 4 other hotels in this spot You can do better

This place was in much better condition 4 years ago, like night and day First room very smokey Second room smelled fine but floor hadn’t been mopped well in a long time

I know Red Roofs are hit or miss, but I’d only stay here again if I had to It was a free night(points) and the owners were extremely nice, but nothing else was good Bed very hard Weed smell from neighbors very strong for a while I’d keep driving

Zia B

I walked into this hotel without a reservation, I was offered a non smoking king The guy at the front desk was very friendly and courteous The room is really smoke smelly, almost unbearable

I can’t believe this is a non smoking room If smoke smell bothers you I would opt for a different hotel Otherwise the room is clean enough, floor has been mopped The room definitely has seen better days but it was very affordable

Faith Collins

First night we walked in and it was gross, like the floors had never been mopped The water is so chemical smelling i wouldn’t give it to my dog It smells like a old swimming pool

The next night we asked to switch rooms an they declined Then we found a bed bug and they finally moved us Last night we told them we would be checking out later and they agreed on 12:30 They kicked me out at 11:30 Mind you it is 96 outside and i’m 20 weeks pregnant They did offer me to stay in the lobby but i have a dog and don’t have a leash Save your money, I promise you won’t enjoy your stay here

We like this hotel and have stayed here many times I was disappointed that this time they were under renovations We arrived with family and children who wanted to get in the pool but was not available

Service is always good This time the breakfast was served in the Meeting Room and was limited due to the space available They tried their bestOur room was very comfortable, clean like alwaysWhat I noticed this time is that they do not ask you how was your stay

The hotel needs updates and repairs I am a lifetime Titanium rewards member and have stayed at MANY Residence Inns with my family and for business It takes a lot for me to review low as I usually give benefit of the doubt and show patience but there were so many issues with the room, I couldn’t

This one ranks at the bottom Before I list the issues, I will point out the staff was friendly No issues there My reasons for the poor review are all for the dirty, beat up and trashy room we got First, our room was not ready at 9pm when we got there When we get up there 20 minutes later, we instantly find many things below standards with it Stains on the all furniture, scrapes and worn out desk/cabinets, a broken microwave, a few random dishes and silverware (not enough to make a meal), TRASH in one of the drawers, a very squeeky door, not stocked towels (there were three and no hand towels which makes me question if they were changed from the last guest), both TVs have issues (the turn black after a period and one shows spots), the toilet paper roll was out when we got there so we had to put a new one on, there was a plate that was dirty in the cupboard, dishes were still in the dishwasher, stains on the wall, a cold pool I mean the list goes on Never have I seen a room with so many issues (with Marriott alone I have well over 1800 nights stayed) Some of the issues are small/insignificant… but really, I have to empty the dishwasher and put a new toilet paper roll on when I arrive? Common I expect better Marriott This was a very poor experience and not up to the standards you claim and charge for

Andrew Boyce

I stay in hotels 4-5 nights a week I usually stay at Marriott properties I’m Platinum Elite with 74 nights at Marriott hotels this year

The good: Friendly staff, close to restaurantsThe bad: This hotel is not clean From the doors in the hallway to the furniture and bathroom The shower curtain has black moldI’m eager to check out in the morningWith some renovations this hotel could be wonderful Sadly, it misses the mark

Platinum elite here Second time stay not as great as first one 30 days ago, which was more than acceptable thenThis property is set back into a wooded area but convenient to shopping and restaurants

Pretty quietSome of the rooms are really beaten up New carpeting and clean furniture would be a plus And, as with many of the older properties, the bathrooms are in need of updates Internet sketchy and tv service unreliable It’s obvious that frequent Inspection for quality control is not happening as maintenance is lackingAfter third try, I was given a room with everything functional and not next to the elevator Management made up for the issues with points which was appreciated Won’t stay here again and would recommend avoiding

Jenn Dahlgren

This was the worst stay that I’ve ever experienced at a Marriott The room had a weird smell, kind of like mold There were ants in the bathroom, in the sink and on the towels

The shower had a giant spot of mold in the corner There was no way I was going to take a shower or even make a cup of coffee in this place It was all way too disgusting The mold in the shower is something that housekeeping couldn’t have missed I couldn’t wait to leave We showed the lady at the front and she apologized and credited points, which was nice Still, I’ll never visit this place again

Carol L. West

I stayed there for 2 nights We were charged for 3 nights I was supposed to be refunded or the hold on my account was to be released

It has been 3 weeks I called over the last week and a half and tried to speak with the manager Left several message she never returned my call After finally speaking with her she claimed she released my funds But my bank said she didn’t It has never this long for this type of transaction with my bank Her conduct was extremely unprofessional She had plenty of time to return my call

I realized reviews are important and so I have decided to start reviewing places that leave an impactWe stayed here for a night and we were so glad we found a place because everywhere was getting fully booked really fast Busy weekend

One of the two nice ladies at the desk made sure to help me book super fast by the phone when I called before we arrived to make sure we didn’t lose the roomThe next morning when we were checking out we asked the other lady there where could we find postal stamps and if there was a postal office near It was 6am so I guess she realized what we hadn’t which is we weren’t going to able to find a place open and we wouldn’t be able to send what we needed to, this lady was so kind as to give us some stamps of hersThings like these stick with you, they both went above and beyondAbout the hotel: lots of parking, clean room, great AC, great price!

The Hotel is in the final stages of a renovation, and under a new ownership ownership The renovation had no impact on me The pool is currently closed, however, I was in town to visit friends and wasn’t looking for a facility with a pool

Their website does identify that they are making renovations, and that the pool is presently closed The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating Great stay Thank you

Cason Shobert

My wife and I worked for IHG for a time and this hotel staff reminded us of the awesome staff we worked with back then The ladies taking care of the front of house were kind and professional and Dennis is doing a great job in the kitchen Housekeeping is also an area many hotels struggle in, but our room was very clean

No complaints on our stay here!Keep it up! 👍**10/10 on your service, Dennis!

LaFarrah Evans

Based on the reviews I thought the stay would be nice, but I was wrong The water pressure was almost nonexistent The computer chair in the room was torn and raggedy that should be removed from the room, and it made the room feel unclean

This hotel has not been maintained well at all It wasn’t clean either Housekeeping was rude about me needing two extra face towels Not sure what that was about She asked me multiple questions before giving me the towels The only plus was that the bed was comfortable I do not recommend this hotel

The only reason I am giving this hotel two stars is because of the location I calculated the overall score via a weighted average This hotel is directly off the highway, and was easy to find

Otherwise, this place is a s***t showThe lobby looks and smells as if it has not been maintained or cleaned regularly The associate at the desk rushed us through check-in She then had to escort both ourselves and another couple to our rooms because the cards for the doors do not work appropriately Our room is dirty and reeks of cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking room There is no mattress cover on the mattress There are no bed bugs, thank Baha’u’llah The phone provided in the room does not work I haven’t checked the pool yet, but at this point with how filthy the hotel is I would be afraid to swim in the pool I’ll probably wear my sandals in the shower There is sharpie pen on a light switch which reads, ‘Do not turn this off’ The hallways and room have a creepy, 1408 vibeIf we could demand our money back and pay the extra money to stay at the Holiday Inn for the evening we would Unfortunately, this hotel stay is non-refundable

pam swearengin

Horrible it was filthy they were rude and made me feel like i was bothering them by getting a room

room was filthy, had an old green reclining i wouldnt even set my clothes on much less sit in tub was cracked and couldnt hold water no breakfast pool was green and the pool house pretty much was laying on the ground The only good thing i can say is the sheets were clean

Emma Morgan Wilson

stayed here for one night and regret it! the halls smelled so bad (like old curry), our toilet, tv remote, and shower curtains were broken, beds were like sleeping on a rock, the hotel card readers didn’t work, and when i woke up there was a huge pile of food on the floor in front of the elevator! staff refused to clean it and all in all, was not a great experience!

Check in was fantastic! The person who checked us in was amazing and very friendly However, as soon as we got into our room I could tell that it was not clean The towels that were from the previous guest were just shoved in weird places, there was a toy left in plain sight and the room was extremely warm

We asked for fresh towels and took the toy to the front Front desk even admitted of being short cleaning staff and they just have “just missed,” some things Not exactly what you wanna hear during COVID times I will say that front desk offered to change rooms, but our baby was already getting a bath for bed When we asked if there was a fan or how to make it cooler, she told us to make it warmer? My husband ended up buying a fan for our stay All together, I am not very happy with our stay If we didn’t need the room I would have walked out

GGCC78

Thank you for the wonderful stay! Service was great, super clean and quiet room, and breakfast was good Everyone was so friendly, and had a great sense of humor too Right from the front desk to the ladies cleaning the rooms

We will definitely be back at this locationUnlike the Lonoke location They gave us the noisiest room and claimed there was an ice storm the night we checked in because they didn’t want us driving in the storm so it was a favor to us There was NOT an ice storm that night!

We stayed at this hotel after about 12 hours on the road and it was super clean and the beds and pillows were super comfortable The breakfast had a ton of stuff such as cinnamon rolls and a 1 minute pancake machine And the soap in the room itself was a bar that foamed up really well

I don’t have any negative things to say And I don’t know if the negative reviews on this place were even in the same hotel

Gayle McDaniel

I dislike having to rate this a 2! It’s the worst and most expensive Holiday Inn Express I’ve ever stayed at The beds were horrible, front desk was outside smoking most her shift Other customers I spoke to at pool and lobby shared multiple complaints from rudeness to lack of concern in regard to personal property

My slippers stuck to ground during breakfast, attendant was unapproachable and the coffee was very weak No cranberry juice 💁🏻 ☺️ my favorite There are several other hotels in the area, one of which is located 1 town away that’s wonderful but I was too exhausted to find it It’s a tourist area with Diamond Mine, National Parks, and a Presidential home so perhaps franchise owners just don’t care how their staff treats people because it’s a busy area We also paid $50 more than IHG in Nacogdoches with far superior beds Definitely won’t stay here again

Laurie

It is by far the dirtiest Holiday Inn Express I have ever stayed inThe 1st room (201)The smell of mildew/mold was so overpowering my husband had to use his inhaler immediatelyThe bed linens were dirty

pillow cases had mold spots on themCustomer service was nonexistentI called the front desk to ask for clean linens and room deodorizer…the young lady at the desk could do nothing to help She could not leave the front deskI went to the front desk and showed her the mold on the pillow case She just stood there, no apology, no offer of a clean pillow/case, I did ask for a clean pillow/case and was told “they didn’t have any”I asked if all the rooms were full to which she answered “I don’t know, I don’t go into the rooms”She did offer to loan me a bottle of room spray/deodorizerOnly after my husband asked, did she offer us a different room (216)And it only took him three trips to get the correct key cardThat room too had a smell of mold/mildew, but not as bad as room (201)The bed/linens looked clean, no sign of moldThe bath room/toilet was dirtyThe shower had black mold and the soap/shampoo dispensers were dirty/disgustingIf we had not had such a long and difficult drive, we would have absolutely not stayed thereI would not ever recommend this Holiday Inn express to anyone

Reserved 10 rooms on a group rate Was given the price per night with tax and was still charged extra Was told that taxes were 13%

After paying we were then told that the pool, exercise room, and kitchen were all closed Kitchen caught fire and there would be no breakfast, just grab and go Pool and fitness room were closed due to Covid Last I checked those restrictions were lifted Not only that, hallway stayed filthy the 3 days we were there Black cleaning gloves laid in the floor all weekend and was never picked up by housekeeping Housekeeping was rude and didn’t do their job One elevator working and it was filthy Managers tried their best but their staff made the task of keeping guest happy a hard one DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Louis Georgiades

Inside room looks clean, smells clean, IS clean Everything in working order Lots of grass to walk the dogs, cats, Etc

Outside grounds needs attentionGo and grab breakfast Normal self serve breakfast Temporarily unavailable due to emergency in kitchen Be patientBed and it’s toppings very comfortable Unlike other hotels, the desk chair wheels actually roll Overall a very good experience and the price quality ratio is excellent

Samantha Ellington

I have made a previous review without viewing this hotels reviews before staying I just assumed from other Wyndham experiences it would be good Clearly, it’s not a good option

Imagine walking on carpet that feels moist and then seeing sunflower seeds at your bed Most reviews are pretty on point because they are horrible The bathroom paint looks like it’s supposed to be touched up When I walked in the hallway I saw an empty beer box The same beer box is still here with other trash collected (pizza boxes/more alcohol boxes) I’ve stayed for 2 nights $55 is great, but this place should be reduced… seriously $25 would kind of be worth it I found a new hotel verified by the local police that is the same price that is way better and safer Do not stay in this nasty place

5 stars overall The staff are all really nice and friendly Super clean bedding and towels, and the bathroom was also really clean

Very comfortable bed You can walk to an Outback Steakhouse and an Olive Garden Some of the hotel is a little rough around the edges, for instance our bathroom had a new sink and tiles, but the bathtub was stained and looked old And the restaurant had peeling wallpaper and cracked vinyl chairs That being said this is the second time I’ve stayed here and I will stay here again if I have to go on a long road trip The cleanliness and welcoming staff trump the areas that need attention every time

I am happy with the location, its not on a busy highway, its quiet and its within walking distance of somewhere to eat and drink Its very clean and tidy and smells pleasant through out the hotel Breakfast is basic but it works

My only bug bear is that they put omelets both cheese and vegetable next to meat products and for a vegetarian I have to be trusting that they have not touched the meat patty or sausage gravy Its something to think about when putting them in the server

In town for a visit

Rented a room (100 degrees out) took the air-conditioning until nightfall to cool down Didn’t have a fan to cool off had to buy one at Walmart Then the cold water was WARM in the shower, very warm w/o even turning on hot water Lady at desk said they didn’t have maintenance people, no fans, no extension cord And wasn’t allowed to switch rooms Great place NOT (And definitely NO refunds!

This Inn was a pleasant unexpected gem The owner(s) obviously take pride in their property as the room was immaculate, landscape was well-maintained and the one lady that checked me in was super helpful and kind On my return’ I will gladly book another room with this property

Thanks to the lady at the front desk, my stay at the Executive Inn could not have been better

Where to start with this one just keep moving

Let’s start with rooms being completely run down loose door knobs extremely noisy microwave did I mention that continuous smell of sewer gas coming from the bathroom area Them to continue about 1:30 am huge ruckuses outside the room for a half hour finally what appeared to be a lady of the night beat on my door I of course didn’t answer it but I could hear women’s voices outside the door finally they left didn’t sleep much of the night at all

My stay (2/12/2022) the outside of the hotel is not appealing at all Only one way upstairs or downstairs I will say the rooms are okay

The website is so misleading They are still blaming covid for not serving breakfast when every other hotel has started serving breakfast again They offer no coffee whatsoever Upstairs or downstairs If you’re looking for a quick rest and to be in and out, I would say it’s okay To enjoy yourself and feel relaxed away from home – go elsewhere

On a positive note, the sheets and pillows were comfy Unfortunately, outside the hotel smelled of something burning (1/10/22) but my reservation was non-cancellation so we stayed It was about 8:30pm and the lobby was locked

There was a small glass enclosure outside the lobby for check-in that only had room for one customer at a time if you care about your personal space, so I waited outside until the customer ahead of me was finished, then I spoke to the desk clerk through secure glass, so it felt unsafe as though some who entered were not to be trusted Once checked in, we noticed our room was a bit crowded with furniture and the bathroom floor needed some minor repair Also we feared that the bathroom doorknob might fall off if we shut the door completely so we left it cracked However, shower was fine, had good pressure and hot water Lastly, there were issues with noise, especially during the night…seems the water pipes would growl every time a toilet flushed Some customer reviews sounded good but after my experience I would not recommend this place, too risky

Very nice, professional, helpful, weekend night front desk lady The rooms were comfortable Only complaints are there was a beer can and water bottle under the bed and breakfast was simple

Overall, parking was great, nice comfortable nights rest and didn’t feel harassed by anyone We will definitely keep this place in mind when we pass thru again

Service and employees were great Owners/management need to not focus on penny pinching Room AC unit was off on check in

It was 95 degrees outside AC in the main building and hallways was either off, or set above 80 Guess what happens when guests cool off a room surrounded by hot air? Mold Mildew Thanks for the allergy attack, Cheapo Won’t be back

This hotel has a good location, next to I-30 & US 71

It is well maintained and only needs a few scruffy things addressed, such as two badly-worn welcome mat rugs, in the lobby The room and nice and quiet, with good water pressure I enjoyed the variety of breakfast offerings, including eggs & sausage patties The desk staff were very friendly I would return to this propertyRJT
