This was not an ideal situation with power outages Steve, Chris, and Robert were all helpful Steve helped out with getting me checked in while Chris helped me out with extending a night

Robert was super accommodating in the mornings and made sure we had what we needed It definitely made a rough situation easier to have people that were helpful and super nice Rooms were clean and well stocked, even housekeeping were very polite and friendly It was reasonably priced and included pretty decent free breakfast, with great coffee

Carli

I would’ve gotten a better night sleep had I slept in my car There were other noisy guests outside on the second floor balcony until the late hours of the night The room had a lingering odor of old cigarettes

The exterior stairwell was littered with used cigarette butts Unfortunately, the pillows were lumpy and made for an impossible nights rest At check out I waited over 5 minutes at the desk for an employee before dropping my key and walking out I will never stay here again

Very nice! We enjoyed our stay Very nice bathroom & bed was comfortable We also enjoyed the soap dispensers & large amount of plug ins inside our room

Breakfast was also great with many options to get our day startedOur only dislike was that the floor in our room was dirty We had to wear shoes to keep our feet clean Everything else was super clean & nice

Glendon Lattie

For now I am rating this hotel with 48 out of 5 stars I would have given them 5 out of 5 if room services was available daily without asking

Although they have signage in the rooms to let you know that if you want fresh towels etc you can call or visit the front desk Now for the positive, the rooms are spacious, clean, quiet, don’t have a bad smell and is very comfortable Complimentary breakfast was very good and have a decent selection of items I would definitely stay there again and would also recommend to others to book a stay

Lauryn Powell

Our stay was absolutely amazing! The customer service was absolutely amazing on all shifts Ms Linda was very helpful during my stay with her welcoming hospitality & warm personality

Housekeeping staff was also very friendly & did their job well Our room floor could have been mopped better (the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars) but everything else was clean & have a nice smell The soaps & lotions offered were light in scent & didn’t bother my sensitive skin like most hotel soapThe hotel is pet friendly! Not only allowing pets but all the staff were very friendly with my pet There’s also several entry ways around the building making it easy to take your pet in & outI travel to the Lynchburg area often will def book with Tru Hilton again & recommend it to othersFYI – This hotel does not have a pool

I would never recommend anyone to stay here the lady is very shady she told me and my girlfriend that she booked someone to come and stay in our room when we where still paying I asked her even if we are still paying she said yea you guys gotta be out by the 25th that’s crazy to me you can’t just book someone to come and stay inside of my room while I’m still paying to live there I wouldn’t recommended this place for no one to STAY AWAY!!!

Staying at the Extended Stay America in Lynchburg, was a pleasant experience for my family The easy conveniences, clean rooms, a To-Go breakfast fit for champions and an environment of friendliness This will prompt us to stay again at this facility

The Assistance Manger (Shelly) worked tirelessly to deliver quality service for all of the hotel guests from working the front desk to ensuring the rooms meet hotel standards She is a true example of a valued team player that leads by example

Andrew Hart

This hotel has many unique qualities and amenities The location was very close to Liberty University, which was great for visiting our friends who currently attend Each room has a kitchenette inside, which allowed us to make and store food accordingly

The hotel advertises as “smoke free,” but that is not the case There were cigarette holes in the blanket, walls, and curtains The hallways and elevator smelled terribly of marijuana The lights in the room were also very dim, the sunlight outside was much brighter than most of the lights in the actual room The water pressure in the shower was also very low It took a while for us to wash ourselves thoroughly We will likely return to Lynchburg again, but we’re unsure if the Extended Stay America will be our hotel in the future

Bruce Jones

We could not have picked a better place to stay for our trip to the annual Homecoming at the former Presbyterian Home , now Human Kind The rooms were sparling clean

sheets fresh and the management under the supervision of the manager SHELLY was absolutely AMAZING !!! Thank you so much for a fantastic stay !!!

The room was clean The air worked but not all the well I saw a pallet of new AC units delivered to the lobby

Maybe our room was in the list for upgrade With family, we had four rooms All the others were nice and clean as well The breakfast was good and had a very nice variety of hot and cold items Biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, fruit, cereal, etc Great value

Cheryl Shifflett

Been staying here for years without any complaints but this time was disappointing! Door had to be slammed to close & latch, microwave was no way to plug it in, no outlet! Toilet ran constantly, hair dryer didnt work, no coffee maker in room & last but no least no continental breakfast & not a drop of coffee to be found! Unless they address these problems We’ll be staying somewhere else!

Carrie Dailey

Thank you to the manager for helping us with a reservation made through Travelocity Travelocity mistakenly gave us a room with specs that this hotel doesn’t even have The manager and staff were kind and worked to get us a room that would accommodate our party of 4

Thank you for making our stay possible and for going the extra mile to secure us a room event though it was someone else’s error

The Sleep Inn has a real gem in their employee Faith at the front desk She truly went the extra mile to help us with the lighting concerns we had in our room, and not only fixed the broken bulb in the wall sconce herself, but said that if the lighting was still not to our satisfaction, she could move us to a different room that might be more suitable Faith was so friendly and professional, and extremely helpful

She made what would have been an ordinary hotel visit memorably nice!

Bonny Steele

First, let me say that the employees are five star The hotel itself, however, did not meet our expectations We were supposed to say three nights and left after the 1st night

I probably would have left immediately but we had gotten in it 1:00 am My issues with the room were first and foremost It had a terrible smell Also, there wasn’t any lights by the bedside and there was only one outlet on one side of the bed where we needed outlets on both sides of bed The bathroom is extremely small and difficult to find the light switch To top it all off after getting in so late Housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:25 this morning to see if we needed towels Although to this I will say we had forgotten to put the do not disturb sign on the door One last thing to note is apparently they cannot change the credit card from the card that you use to reserve the room with

Elissa Jarvis

This hotel was actually much nicer than expected We were greeted with a smile by a staff member, who went above and beyond to help us through the door with our luggage and answer all our questions The room was also very clean and comfortable

I could tell that the hotel is well-managed We would definitely stay here a second time

If I could give no stars I would There was a cockroach in the hall The bathroom door won’t shut

The WiFi password won’t work on an iPhone The fridge is broken There are only sheets no blankets The only positive thing here is that the pool is fine I don’t normally leave reviews but this has to happen I have called to pay for another hotel and everything is booked up We’re screwed!! This place is gross The ladies up front were nice though

Delphine Peterson

Musty smelling room, with appliances unplugged and TV snowy on most channels Sheets looked used with a red spot and skin particles in bed, so we changed to another room That one was much better, but the tub filled up with water during shower, and smelled better

It’s ok for just spending the night, and not spending a lot of time in there

Joshua Clark

This place is pretty gnarly I stayed here for work I use CLC for work, and this was the ONLY place that had a room

It’s loud, nasty, smells and the room was just not clean The bathroom was the worst part HUGE mold spots on the shower curtain, nasty ceiling, and I found a heart monitor sensor on the top of the shower ledge I’ll stay in the next town over next time

If I could give -5 stars I would I came into town to visit my parents for the weekend and decided to get a room (203 to be exact) and from the moment I walked into the hotel lobby I regretted my choice The lobby was absolutely filthy and had trash everywhere and didn’t look like it had been cleaned in months with out dated furniture

The room was so much worse holes in the wall different color paint from patch jobs, mold in the mini fridge, the hairdryer practically electrocuted me, blood on the sheets and lamp shade and no hot water for two days ever after bringing it to the front desks attention after the first morning of not being able to shower ( and might I add the girl at the front desk looked high out of her mind and her I assume boyfriend was behind the counter hat pulled down looking down and looking high also) and they said they would fix it Returning to the room at 10:30pm that evening the bed had been stripped of all the linens and not remade towels taken but no new towels and still no hot water The next morning upon checking out and not having showered at the hotel for two days but at my moms house I went to the desk and requested a refund because I myself work in the industry and would give anyone that experienced this a complete refund, but they said they would only refund one night and not both Not wanting to argue I said sure and knew I’d be calling corporate I called corporate and because it’s a privately owned hotel with their name they can’t or won’t do anything I should say and the hotel is refusing to give anything more I have called the Virginia department of health because this place was disgusting from top to bottom

DW Kessinger

Got an unplanned wake up call earlier than I wanted to be up Voice on the other end explains that it was the front desk and they wanted to know who we were

I gave them the information they needed then they ask if we had just changed rooms We hadn’t finally a lady in the background says oh I remember them Apparently no card was filled out when we checked in for our room Cleaning lady was very helpful

Alex Christian

The staff was almost never present I had to leave my room keys at the front desk to “check out”Most importantly – the room was FILTHY

We found a stale donut hole at the foot of the bed, a cockroach crawling on our nightstand, the shower was leaking, and the lamps look like someone peed on them There was a pair of reading glasses and a used tissue that had been swept under the bedThis is, quite literally, a roach motel

What a charming hotel The staff are all super sweet and friendly The hotel is gorgeous, very industrial chic They did an amazing restoration of a historic building and it shows

Beds are at the level of a 5 stay luxury hotel, maybe even better The free breakfast was the cherry on top, and they bring it to your room every morning Doesn’t get better than that Keep it up team!!!!! Can’t wait to return!

Tony Guzman

The location had a great theme The staff were very helpful, and the room was nice but not sure it was worth the money that was paid because of issues with the toilet running all nice and flushing itself, lack of microwave, bad electrical desk outlet and the constant sound of train and whistles There might be better locations

The reason it’s a 4-star was because of the employees It should be considered

LuAnn Hunt

This hotel is definitely worth all 5 stars! This was the second time my husband and I spent the night there for a “staycation” and we were not disappointed The bed was super comfortable and everything you needed in the bath was provided Our continental breakfast was just right and was waiting at our door when we got up

We’ll definitely plan on staying again in the future

Perfect location to Liberty University Fantastic hotel, very clean and great customer service I had a quiet and comfortable stay

As a platinum member, it would have been nice to have complimentary water bottles, but, I purchased a bottle This is a nice courtesy that would not be very expensive to do Otherwise, everything was awesome I appreciate that I was given my room preference and was able to use my suite night I like the Keurig maker in the room that I used to make coffee

Jessica Lawson

Rachel went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable Our first room had a slight A/C issue (it was a super hot weekend) so Rachel went and checked other available rooms to find one that wouldn’t cook us I also realised I didn’t have everything I needed in my toiletry case, Rachel came to the rescue again by finding what I needed behind the front desk

Absolute superstar!! Really helped make our stay wonderfulAs for the hotel itself, I have stayed in a Residence Inn before and loved it so knew what to expect We stayed in the king studio which was plenty of space for the 2 of us and a pup The rooms and bathrooms are modern and clean I enjoy a marshmallowy bed so that’s a hit for me, too Breakfast was simple and straightforward – coffee, juices, eggs, sausage, biscuits (all fresh) and then an assortment of packaged bread, muffins and bagelsThe hotel is directly next to a mall so plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance A great stay all round!

Penny McPherson

Staff is super friendlyThere is a large patio area near the small pool with plenty of seating Tables with umbrellas for shade

There was variety for breakfast items to heat yourself Plus oatmeal fruit and more My husband thought breakfast was just OK He wanted a waffle maker I was happy they had fresh, not prepackaged, cinnamon raisin bagelsVery clean, ample parking and ready to cook, stocked, kitchensAsk for a room on the 5th floor facing the mountains You will catch sunsets

I’ve stayed at this hotel for work going on 2 years and honestly cannot understand where these bad reviews are coming from There are a couple of the staff who are not as talkative but all are nice and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need I’ve never encountered a dirty room

Of course with the covid outbreak there is no standard breakfast option but that is understandable Sometimes on weekends it can be louder than during the week but quiets down by eleven My advice is to not give too much credence to the negative reviews

Samantha Jarzynka

NOT family friendly NOT comforting at all! DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY STAY HERE! we have adjoining rooms and it’s still not enough room for 5 people Mattresses were dirty and so high off the ground it’s hazardous to children And you get to choose what bright light to look at at night, the parking lot or the hallway! Absolutely ridiculous, even with covering the windows and door frames these lights illuminated our rooms! The shower pressure was so low I could barely wash my hair, and the shower heads were heavily spackled and looks like recent poor handyman work(literally sticking from the wall)

Phones are only for show, and when I called the front desk from the bookingcom(same as on the phones) number it gives me a Verizon voicemail message Paper toilet paper, mini toilet mini everything “Micro” indeed

Kaylea Grillo

The only reason I’m giving it a 2 is because of how nice the room was However the employees (other than the young lady on 2nd shift) was rude as heck! When we checked in we told them we had 2 pets a dog and a cat

the next day our TV wasn’t working so they sent someone up to our room to check it out She seemed as if my dog was going to attack her He was on his leash and he’s the most loving dog you could ever meet Anyways, when she left the room the front desk called me and proceeded to tell me they don’t allow cats I told them we had a cat AND their website says pet friendly it doesn’t specifiy just dogs thankfully they let us stay the remainder of our stay But we had to cancel the other reservation we had made to stay with them Then on the day we were leaving I saw a black bug crawling in one of the pillow cases I called the front desk to tell them about it and they sent 2 people to my room The one lady then asked me *rudely* if I could bring the pillow case out to them because “she’s not going in there with THAT DOG” once again the most loving dog ever on a leash! (Don’t work at a pet friendly hotel if you don’t like pets?) So I took the pillow case out to her and somehow the bug was gone She just kept saying it wouldn’t have been a bed bug and I kept telling her I didn’t think it was but there still shouldn’t have been a bug in our pillow case so yeah Fun times!

Let me start by saying I am a Hilton rewards member, and by far this was my worst experience by far We arrived in town early, we called to ask about early check-in, and told, “we have 130 checkouts and are not doing any early check-ins” which was surprising So we killed 3 hours

Then the room had a broken toilet, ran all night, flushed if you fiddled with it and a broken microwave The hotel no longer offers free breakfast The front desk staff said, ” we have a restaurant so breakfast is no longer free, but we do a pretty good job” Well for $7-$10 I would hope they did an excellent job But it was just as it would be if it were a free breakfast but now your charged on top of the booking $200 room feeIn conclusion I will never book a Hilton garden again It was a sub par experience dressed up in a bad renovation to be a decent hotel The front desk staff did not even stand to greet you when you check in And the amenities are all poorly wrapped under performing was to think your getting a top rated stay Go to the Tru, it’s a better experience

Erin Hannah

So, first of all, we reserved this hotel room through Hilton via phone a couple of weeks before our visit We got a confirmation stating our total was $550 We arrive to check in and we’re told it’s going to be over $600

When we stated the price was different than our reservation the receptionist asked if it was reserved through 3rd party (it was not, we reserved through Hilton on the phone) She stated it was for “fees” but could not explain why, and at this point we had been traveling all day, so we reluctantly paid She told us that she’d throw in some “free” breakfast coupons So we check out the pool on the way to our room, and it is tiny and super cloudy, totally disgusting, with a sign stating “spa closed” We stayed for 3 nights and did not see housekeeping a single time The wallpaper in the bathroom of our room was beginning to peel off of the walls and there was some strange unidentifiable stain on the carpet We arrived for the breakfast each morning around 8 am and everything was either picked through already or you had to pay more money to get a plate Oh and then the morning manager told us that the continental breakfast was free anyways so the “free” breakfast coupons they give you are a joke Even coffee was practically nonexistent despite having 5 canisters at the bar My boyfriend drank decaf because there was nothing else and another woman had asked for coffee and it never came To top it off we asked for a couple of towels on our last night and we were told that the kids staying for the tournament had used up all the towels throughout the day We asked if they could bring us some once they had some clean ones, never got a call Instead we were awoken to a fire alarm at 845 am with no explanation Don’t waste your money I’ve literally stayed at red roof inns nicer than this Hilton

Michael Wood

The hotel is conveniently located The rooms are nice The staff is very friendly and welcoming

The breakfast experience is terrible There are not enough tables for guests to sit at $7 for a “continental breakfast” including cereal, yogurt and muffins $9 for eggs, potatoes and sausage on a sterno (if they refill – 2 out of 3 were empty when I went)The coffee in the lobby is completely awful The 3 of us who stayed completely agreed that it was the worst excuse for coffee that we had ever tried Not a Starbucks fan, but thankfully there are 2 of those nearbyWhen I stayed, there was 1 person working to serve breakfast and clean tables There were ~40 people eating or trying to eat breakfast at the same time, and the 1 employee could not keep up I saw this for 3 consecutive mornings, so this was not a 1 off eventSince there was only 1 person, and breakfast service was so slow, there were no open tables to sit and eatColleagues stayed at a Fairfield Inn nearby and all had good experiences Next time I will avoid Hilton

The property is older, but not run down All fixtures are up to date The entrance is from the inner hallways (security+)

If you plan on spending a lot of time in your room, the amenities are minimal The room is a basic layout Nice TV and wifi, but for a place to sleep It is clean and the beds are comfortable with comfortable sheets If you are only looking for a comfortable safe place to sleep while you do business in Lynchburg, this is a good value

So stayed here for 1 week, staff was great, breakfast was good Room was clean, didn’t see any bugs or critters My main complaint was the door key card

I had to get the cards reprogrammed 5 times in 7 days So I don’t know much about these things but by the time I would get back to the room only one of two would work So this made us paranoid that we may have the wrong cardAlso not really a big thing but the parking lot probably needs cleaned, allot of people in and out But their are several oil stains that may need to be cleaned up to prevent people walking and tracking it into the motel

My name is Reverend Marlon Smith I was scheduled to minister at a local church in the Lynchburg VA area for four Sundays in the month of June, 2022 This hotel became my home away from home The staff were like family as they knew my name with a personal feel and great professionalism

The hotel itself was clean and quiet I don’t usually do reviews because I don’t like ratings anyone or businesses However, this place was absolutely the best and deserving of five stars

We recently stayed at this property I was well pleased with the staff and condition of our rooms and the facility We asked for adjoining rooms on the first floor and the staff delivered as promised

The breakfast area was clean and had a good selection of items to choose fromI also liked the properties location It was on the edge of the city and was within a 5 minute drive to several restaurants I would happily stay at this property again

Room smelled like smoke when I checked in Found beads in the floor and also found a Nerf bullet in the closet So I don’t think the room had been vacuumed

No top sheet just the comforter Could not take a bath due to the bathtub would not hold water You would have to put something over the drain if you wanted to use the tub Free breakfast eggs cold and biscuits were cold and hard Ice and drink machines were on the ground floor

I visited Lynchburg, VA with my 6- year old daughter She was excited about staying at the hotel because she loved the way it looked, she said it was “fancy” Little did we know, our room wasn’t so “fancy”

When we walked down the hall, the smell was unpleasant It smelled like cigarette smoke As soon as we walked in our room, the smell was even stronger, even though it was a non-smoking room The bed looked like someone just pulled the covers back on the bed without changing anything There was something sitting in the toilet and the toilet would not work The lamps were not working I appreciate the lady that accommodated us and let us move to another room, but I do not want to deal with that as soon as I get to my hotel after a long day We still enjoyed our short stay because we were able to go swimming, but it still was not the best experience

Pool is open for reservations, which is really nice Staff was very kind/helpful when we were there Lobby is gorgeous

Rooms were okay Nothing special, but seemed clean Breakfast was served as safely as possible and with hand sanitizer and disposable gloves provided and food taken back to your room We had two small issues They were not super helpful on the phone when we called to make reservations and the beds didn’t have top sheets I know it’s a cleanliness issue and I meant to ask the front desk about it but the phone in the room didn’t seem to be connected and we were exhausted
