This is one of my best hotels in NYC The location is perfect Everything is within walking distance of the hotel

My room was a corner room overlooking Times Square It’s amazing to see so many NYC landmarks from the room The room is clean and spacious Also the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful When I arrived at the hotel with 15 colleagues, they did their best with smiles and friendly words to help us check in each the rooms of 15 people I would like to thank Sabrina and Olimpia Especially Sabrina makes me happy She treated me as a Platinum member of Marriott, with a smile and explaining every detail of the hotel Sabrina also did her best to offer an upgrade room as a Platinum member benefit When we were asking about to valet 5 cars she helped us with how we could park and explained in detail how we could pay the parking fee All 15 colleagues staying at the hotel would like to thank the hotel for making great memories in NYC

Fantastic hotel in the heart of the city!!! The room are a little small but the design inside is so pretty and vintage style Great location with subway entrance less than a block away There lots of places conveniently located near the hotel to eat at or get take out

Also there is a Starbucks across the street I recommend you this place when you stay there, because It was clean, and the staff was polite

Anita

Perfect location for Times Square and Central Park Everything is walking distance from hotelRooms were spacious and bathroom was big, bed was so comfortable

I think the rooms need a bit of an update as some of the carpet was coming away and lamps shades had marks on them The view from our room on 33 was amazingWe never had breakfast at the hotel we went to have a look not sure why they are using plastic plastic and cutleryThere were so many places to eat near by so we did that everydayWould definitely stay there again the staff are so nice and helpful

I would really do your research before staying here A few issues I have:1 pretty much all amenities are still closed due to Covid (2 years later?) and this is not easily disclosed on the website

That’s a scam They have this long message on the homepage about checking vaccination cards (which they did not do) but nothing about amenities2 I booked a standard room and my room looks nothing like anything on the website I legitimately thought I was at the wrong hotel Cross your fingers you don’t end up in the non-renovated rooms3 Upon asking about the massive discrepancy and showing them what a “standard room” looks like on the website the comment was “oh that’s not a standard room” Wasn’t very friendly and I’m literally referencing the pictures this hotel puts under standard room on their own website4 I was told that nothing was available to switch but try back tomorrow which is pretty much buzz off

I come to NY every 1-2 months and I am very accustomed to the local hotels Worst hotel I have ever been to1/ Do not expect any kind of food or food service / restaurant is closed since Covid without them mentioning it online2/ Do not expect a fitness center – it is closed since Covid without them mentioning it online3/ if you are unhappy – they will refuse to refund you or cancel the remaining of the reservation5/ construction noise starting at 7:30am so impossible to sleep in6/ weird smell in the room that cannot be really removed due to windows being closed for security reasons7/ they say mask required everywhere but nobody wears it, even the staffthe only thing that’s good is the exit

It is an old hotel that is just a terrible experience Highly recommend to AVOID this place at all cost

I feel the need to read some disclaimers first:- I’m a Marriott Gold member and have been for nearly 20 years- when traveling for business I’m usually at a Marriott property, even if it’s inconvenient- when traveling with the family I usually use Marriott points and we typically stay in a place that offers free breakfast (to save $)I was on a business trip and the family was able to tag along We needed a large enough space for 5 adults/teens and close to my meeting In NYC the options weren’t that good, so we looked at VRBO, etc in hopes to find something with a kitchen to ease the burden of eating out for all meals

I stumbled into this place, the reviews were good, and the size looked huge, for NYC I got a little concerned with a few negative reviews but we didn’t experience any of thatThe place was huge – we stayed in a 1 bedroom with double queens The bedroom was spacious, the living room was massive with lots of space The kitchen and bath were not – but were nice and effective for what we needed 1 teen was on the couch and we happened to bring a queen air mattress for the other that was in the living room – with more than enough space remaining that we didn’t need to move the mattress during the dayThe staff was very pleasant and accommodating and would recommend this place for families or a longer-term and would definitely stay again

We’ve stayed here quite a few times, the last time before our recent stay being pre-pandemic The location is convenient to the city, the beds are comfortable, breakfast is decent enough, parking is free My daughter and I stayed in room 804 and our experience was the room is really in need of some TLC

1 Temp control was hit-or-miss, the thermostat being well-handled and old2 Furniture in the living room is Salvation Army-grade and there’s way too much of it for the small space3 Remote control did not work4 Kitchen faucet leaked5 The toilet seat was loose and moved side-to-side and I was not about to reach under there to tighten it6 The coffee maker was fun; the little spring-loaded button in the bottom of the filter basket did not hit the carafe lid, so the coffee stayed in the basket rather than draining into the potThis used to be a nice hotel but it’s becoming run-down It’s clean for the most part and convenient to the ferry terminal, the parking is free, the access to the promenade restaurants and to Pier 115 is a plus, but it’s just starting to feel old and neglected We’ll probably stay here again but we might just try somewhere else

Aiden R

I stayed here for two nights and three days I felt good when I checked in The lady at the counter was very kind

I liked the room, too A room with two queen beds and a living room with a sofa were separated It is free breakfast time from 6 AM to 10 AM I was also satisfied with the quality of their food I will stay at here again when I come back to NYC next time

ortalama vatandas

Great location, great size of the room, very decent food for breakfast, free parking Only thing to improve would have been the furniture in the room was very dirty and old I used cleaning wipes for the chairs and I covered the sofa with my blanket that I carry in the car to make sure my clothing does not get any stains from the furniture

One of the chairs had literally some black stuff like machine oil or something Since the linens, tile surfaces and bedding were clean I did not complain Room had water front view so overall great value for the price I wish they had let us do late check out and did not barge in the room before we were even dressed yet to rush us out before the check out time The asian lady at the front desk was rather mean towards us but rest of the staff was very cordial

Sarah Hardin

We just spent the weekend at the San Carlos and it was wonderful They were so accommodating and every staff person we encountered was incredible The room was spacious and perfect for our family of four

I loved the convenience of the tourist sites while being a in a relatively quiet area Loved the diner across the street for breakfast Plenty of great restaurants very nearby We were pleasantly surprised by the parking discount Family who came to visit us were upset they didn’t stay at the San Carlos This is definitely our hotel whenever we come to NYC!

Gail Hutcheson

We just spent 12 days at the San Carlos, and the experience was lovely from day one until the end The staff gets first mention because they were all five star first class! We had a problem with the ac unit and the maintenance man was there immediately to replace the unit, and again when a light went out in the bathroom- fixed immediately The maid service was daily and impeccable

The front desk people were welcoming and friendly as we came and went each day Evelyn and Crystal were especially helpful and made you feel like part of the family Bobby was great getting us cabs when needed, for us and our children while they were there The elevators were very fast and reliable The king bed was very comfortable The decor is dated and could be brightened up a bit in our room, but the room was comfortable and very clean!! Very convenient to the 6 Subway Multiple restaurants, drugstores, etc nearby

Jeffrey de Wit

Great hotel located near some of the Manhattan highlights (Rockefeller Center, Grand Central) Spacious rooms with amazing beds Rooms do look a bit dated (wooden elements)

Staff was very wonderful, always in for a chat and helped us when needed Rooms were cleaned every day Only thing we didn’t do was eat at the restaurant next doors Subway just 1 block away (6) or 3 blocks (E,M) Amazing diner across the street for breakfast

Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any hotel This web site will compare hundreds of hotel sites and normally will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the most well known in this area

I’ve been staying here for a long time If you decide to stay here you for sure will love it I’m sure!Such an amazing experience Me and my friends stayed here over the weekend for my birthday because we wanted to visit NYC The entire staff was incredible, and the young woman that was working at the cafe made our coffees perfectly The food was incredible as well Not to mention the bus stop to go into NYC was only a couple minutes away on foot! I can’t wait to stay here again!!!

H Wilkes

First let me say that the rooms were nice, clean They leave you a disinfectant wipe to clean what you might want to like say the remote, etc I would stay here again if visiting Edgewater

BUT, what is up with the water pressure in the shower??? It is non-existent!!!! Such a nice big shower and no water pressure!! I washed my hair and instantly regretted it as I could not get all the shampoo/conditioner rinsed out of my hair They need to do better!!Also, another thingthe mattress we had has definitely seen some action It has seen better days and needs to be replaced At first you think, oh how comfortable but quickly found out that my husband and I cuddled every night whether we wanted to or not, as we sunk to the middleAnd my husband and I only stayed 2 nights The hotel is in a nice area, stores, restaurants close by A police station literally right there Nice walkway along the water with a beautiful view of the city, Manhattan Ferries to the city not far Just SO disappointing that I could not enjoy a nice shower and get a better nights sleep

Monica Green

My experience was terrible I’ve been a Marriott member since 2010 when I traveled heavily for work This was the worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed at

The shower was dirty, the bathroom sink clogged and would fill with water I asked for more towels and wash clothes and only received towels In the morning my phone was ringing at 6:30am, but stopped Then an hour or so later housekeeping was knocking on the door I politely answered we weren’t requiring a cleaning They STILL tried to get in the room Luckily I had the stop lock on Around 10:30 they started knocking again!!! I opened the door and said I was not checked out yet! I then received a phone call in the room saying they thought I was checked out I kindly but frustratingly explained check out was not until 12pm and I was still getting dressed! I complained to the manager at the front desk at checkout and was offered 3,000 rewards He was very kind and listened to my concerns I was happy with the 3,000 rewards and felt valued and heard However, I NEVER received the rewards points Hence, writing this review I will never stay at this Marriott again!

Kathleen McFarland

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights recently on a trip to see a couple Broadway shows, and it was perfect! The building is beautiful and well-maintained with a unique, vintage feel, which is exactly what I was wanting as opposed to a huge chain hotel We were upgraded to a superior king room with a small balcony facing the street, which was great! The staff were very polite and helpful, and the free breakfast was really good They can store your bags before check-in and after check-out, which was really nice

The location is great, just close enough to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, etc but far enough away to feel like you’re in an actual neighborhood And of course tons of great restaurants nearby! There aren’t a ton of amenities if that’s important to you, but the rooftop lounge is a nice plus, we’d love to come back when it’s warmer to be able to enjoy it more! There is a piano bar right across the street that was rather noisy at night, but it didn’t bother us too much Overall highly recommend Hotel Scherman!

Kristine Neyra

I had a wonderful stay They let me check in early and the room was spacious with a small terrace to look at restaurants below There was live music nightly from the restaurant below but that didn’t bother me

Location is great, I even walked from Penn station to this hotel with my bags So many great restaurants in the area as well Room has a fridge and microwave And water pressure in the shower was great! I didn’t try the breakfast that was provided I did check out the rooftop terrace which was only for guests which had a decent view

Alex A

I booked after reading some great reviews and wow were they accurate We were looking for a convenient hotel, good service, and bigger room (2 beds, 2 baths, etc)

This was the perfect spot! And one we definitely plan to come back to Location is great – so many food options, transport, etc next door Room was really great – comfortable, clean, and amazing balcony! Finally, literally every staff member was genuine, helpful, and kind It was arguably better/more genuine service than what you get in a lot of 5 star spots Thank You!!

This place is clean, the bed is comfy and I love that they provide you a back pillow to give your back support while watching TV! The bathroom is quite small The bathroom door is barely able to open because it hits the toilet seat… really appreciate the parking garage! No free breakfast offered, and the food on the menu is quite expensive The only thing I wish they can improve is the indoor pool

It seems like the filter is not working properly The water is not clean, and it’s not heated in winter

Mariano Lizarraga

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times, however I’m not coming back I understand the prices and inflation have impacted the cost of everything but I was a bit surprised to see a very significant change on the cost of stay this time around However, I was dismayed to see that on top of the fee change, they have also eliminated the “free breakfast”; a permanent staple of this category of hotels

Next time I’m in NY I won’t be staying at the Best Western Premiere

Karin Chavez

This is the second time I stayed in this hotel I liked it very much But, the only thing is that I couldn’t use their phone to make international calls with room charge, or they don’t have the international phone cards or anyhting like that

So, as an international visitor it could be a problem if you have an emergency call to make A part from, everything was good

Enjoyed out stay The staff were all very friendly, quick to greet, and accommodating The breakfast was great! Really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich, orange juice, and coffee

We were so close to everything we needed and Times Square to boot Fantastic location for sightseeing NYC The room was clean and comfortable, nice sheets, down pillows The bathroom was surprisingly spacious and quite luxurious There was convenient parking right across the street I will definitely look to stay here again

Rayan Abdelmagid

Stayed here for a week in the deluxe queen room Definitely not a 4 star hotel!Pros: The basic stuff, Friendly staff, clean rooms , clean sheets and linen Location is fantastic

Cons: very expensive to what you get Room is small and kind of crammed, bathroom as well Not so much room for two people Grab and Go breakfast from 7-11 am, not really We were there by 10am and there was nothing except for oatmeal and black coffee So technically you are just paying for the room We had to get a decent breakfast every morning at nearby restaurantsOverall experience is good but not as expected or paid for

Kye Walton

Amazing location, great staff, and overall really good Tiny rooms but that should be expected Only thing that was very very disappointing was the breakfast

They were supposed to be egg and cheese sandwiches, but in reality they were onion sandwiches with a little bit of egg and a little bit of cheese However, the hotel is super close to the Red Flame Diner which was absolutely exceptional, and that’s where we ended up getting breakfast

PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK! They supposedly have it posted somewhere that the shared garage (only parking available) has no security and the Marriott will not be held liable for anything regarding your vehicle Parking garage is dirty, has skunks that roam at night eating garbage left behind and also has super small parking spots that make your car HIGHLY susceptible to being struck by another vehicle parking or just trying to open their doorIn addition to that, the website is VERY misleading

There is no bar, there is no food service (except 2-3 hrs in AM) and there pretty much is no amenities You’ll be provided with 1 coffee pod no matter how many days your stay is and not enough towels I’ve been there 2 years in a row and both time there has only been 1 working elevator If you are there for the convention center, and time between running back to your room and event is time-sensitive, do yourself a favor and stay next door They have food, bar, SEVERAL working elevators and much friendlier staff Literally every person working the front desk or managing at this MARRIOTT are miserable human beings

Angel Chapman

I chose this location as it was close to home but still in a nice area where I could feel as thought it was a get away I reserved a king bedroom for Valentine’s Day weekend I have no complaints regarding my actual stay but rather what took place after I checked out

After checking out I received notification of the hotel attempting to charge me $250 My bank declined it where they went on to then try for $200 that my bank allowed I called the front desk to speak with someone and was basically told a manager wasn’t on site and I would have to call back to speak with one After trying to reach a manager for 3 days, a general manager finally called me back She explained to me I was being charged the additional money because I had tea light candles in my room… I asked her how can that be when I was never told I couldn’t use candles I even told the check in host that I would be doing a valentines set up and still wasn’t told no candle usage was allowed The employee on the phone said to me “it’s in our policy” I took it upon myself to check the policy and the only things mentioned that I wouldn’t be able to do was smoke in the room Which I did not I explained this to the manager and she said to me “oh everyone knows not to” & still decided not to refund me my money… Ma’am what does everyone knows not to mean? I’m going by Marriott Secaucus policy which doesn’t state anything about candle use How can I be charged a smoking fee when I was never smoking?! The policy mentions nothing about candle usage, only smoking… as well as nothing being posted in the establishment about candle use, only no smoking signs… again I do not find this fair and have decided to take this matter to legal services after not being able to resolve the issue with a manager This hotel fraudulently used my card as I was not notified of any charges before hand and no one can tell me where in the policy it says no candle usage as they had previously claimed SMH so I am leaving this review so others know that they will find a way to charge you a “fee” after check out even if it doesn’t apply I have since disputed this with my bank because I will not pay a fee for something I didn’t do You should only stay at this hotel if you wish to have your card used without your permission for things you didn’t do For future reference I will reserve with another hotel for romantic holiday stays as this one will charge you extra for nothing

Izzy Cyn

Overall good experience, but if you’re going to put recycling bins in the rooms, then please actually recycle the contents inside When we went to one of the housekeepers and asked to dump our recycling, she told us to just throw it in the garbage and when we later asked another employee where we could dump our recycling, he told us he would take it just so that he could throw it awayOther than that disappointing element of the stay, the rooms were clean, the employees were nice, and we were able to get extra necessities without any hassle

So many things I enjoyed about this hotel Cost and worth matched up The location is perfect

Close enough to walk to most tourist spots, but far away enough to be out of the traffic and chaos Close to subway for the 6 line Down the block is a whole foods And jumbo bagels is only three blocks away! Also a Starbucks less than a blockThe hotel staff is very friendly and eager to help The hotel is decorated as modern and rooms are clean The water pressure was lovely and other small features such a reading light from the bed frame made the stay just a little more pleasant We had king suite Plenty of room for a NY hotel Many cabinets to store itemsThere is a nice area to eat breakfast with complimentary espresso machine! This is my new spot for when I visit NYC I hesitate to leave a good review because I don’t want to make it too popular!

Liz McLeod

My partner and I made a trip to NYC from Maine for our anniversary I couldn’t have picked a better hotel than this one The prices are super affordable for the quality

Everything is squeaky clean and quiet The rooftop space has beautiful views of the city especially at nighttime We were even encouraged to bring our own beverages up to the roof to enjoy them The only thing I would recommend the hotel does with the rooftop is add a couple of comfy chairs and maybe a tableThe environment is also amazing The staff are super attentive, helpful, and extremely kind The staff went out of their way to help us quickly unload our belongings in the middle of the parking and traffic chaos They also provided us with amazing suggestions on local attractions, food, and directions The staff definitely made us feel welcome and at home They genuinely care about their hotel guests I can’t say enough about themHuge thank you to Hotel 57 for the amazing work and effort You made our trip the most memorable experience We will be back to visit on our next trip to NYC!

Candice Lynn

Beautiful 4-star hotel the room had a very nice walk in shower with two heads and a ledge for sitting on The room felt quite spacious for it being the average room near Times Square/Broadway Hotel staff in the lobby were very helpful with holding baggage due to no early check in

Both nights we stayed they had a free wine glass for guests in the lobby area by the bar I think public bathroom leave an impression on people and the public bathrooms that are unisex were very nice modern looking They also had lemon water in the lobby which worked out well so then we didn’t have to go buy a ridiculously priced case of water The location is great for a family of 4 like us we wanted a hotel near Times Square/ Broadway well not being directly on broadway, this location is perfect for that because it’s a half block walk off of Times Square

I’ve stayed in New York a few times and it’s always like staying in a shoe box This place was NOT LIKE THAT! It’s ambiance was modern and sleek, the rooms were roomy and we even had a very nice large balcony! The shower was my favorite part because both shower heads worked great and the water got very hot !! Which I enjoyed! The shower was roomy and even had a ledge It was great

The room had 2 beds and a desk chair and sitting couch with a closet included and working refrigerator they even had a blow dryer This place is great!! Everything worked and it was a pleasant surprise staying in New York!! Definitely would stay here again and give 5 stars would recommend!

I really enjoyed the room! I’m a stones throw away from Times Square, a quick stroll to the subway to get where I’m going, and something that’s not so popular in comments which I think should be… the beds and pillows were SO NICE! I slept better here than in any hotel in recent history! I’d stay here just for the sleep quality aloneEdit* It does get a little loud given we’re next to Times Square but nothing terrible Still greatEdit** and they let me check in at 7am after flying a red eye! That’s amazing, thank you!

The rooms were incredible I stayed over for a bodybuilding competition near the hotel The room was a spacious, modern suite with full kitchen—refrigerator, microwave, mini–stove, and dishwasher

This was very convenient since I brought meals for the bodybuilding show The front desk staff was especially helpful and accommodating Definitely will stay here again One of the best hotels I’ve experienced

Nice hotel Made reservations through Reservationscom for a Homewood Suites room with a Manhattan view

When checking in, I was told the room description did not match the listing on Reservationscom Despite room availability, I was given a non-view room on the Hampton Inn side of the hotel I feel this dispute between Reservationscom and Hilton should not result in a room downgrade for a prepaid visit I certainly won’t be using a third party to book in the future I’m undecided about staying here again

Joseph Park

We were not assigned our room until an hour after check in time (3:00) It was only after I asked to speak with the manager was anything actually done about it Please do not take on the capacity if you are not able to handle it

If anything, at least notify guests that rooms will not be ready by the expected time period This was a very special weekend for many people visiting Teaneck and for me, it happened to be tainted by the hotel staff’s inability to accommodate and communicate clearly

Just checked in Rude attendant at the front station The room is dark and dank

Paid for a Superior room I can’t imagine what the next level down is because this room is depressing! Where are the rooms from the website?? I’d like one of those! The bed is old and good luck trying to get out of it! The shower is just a shower head in the open bathroom and water goes every where The TV remote doesn’t work, but you do have the option to sync your iPhone with the TV so that helps Location is good and close to a lot of sights I had a much better experience at the Club Quarters in Times Square There are many hotels in the area that are better for the same price point

There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful our stay was Everything about the hotel was perfect I was very impressed with the staff

We arrived at the hotel without air conditioning, so they put us in another room while ours was being repairedOnce our room was finished, the manager had an American Girl Doll bed and bath set up with a bathrub and and a few other items My daughter was surprised and it made her night It was incredible to have a private terrace with such a beautiful view We loved the hotel’s location There is no doubt that this hotel is a hidden gem My next trip to NYC will be spent only at this hotel I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the hotel staff for being so accommodating and always responding to our inquiries

Taylor Montgomery

I won tickets to Seth Meyers My significant other and I did not have a lot of money and friends helped us purchase a hotel for the night The price for the hotel was awesome and affordable

Our room was clean, nice, and had everything we needed Not to mention, the employees were so incredibly helpful and kind We will definitely go out of our way to stay here again next time we go to NYC

Location is great and room is clean That is pretty much the positiveNo towels in room when we checked in at night

Had to ask 3 times – phone, front desk and front deskClean room, great front desk staff They have a relationship with the black cars with they seem to get a cut back for every customer they refer InterestingWould not recommend to stay here if you are a light sleeper We heard construction and garbage trucks at night through the window on a high floor

What a wonderful experience This hotel has it all…Location, Lovely accommodations and Wonderful staff We truly enjoyed our stay here

Our room was wonderful and spacious with unobstructed Manhattan viewsThe common areas are thoughtfully designed for not only large groups but also intimate seating for sharing a glass of wine with a friend or loved one or simply enjoying a comfy chair in a corner to read a book We very much enjoyed thisOur outings included a wonderful boat ride around the Statue of Liberty, a lovely outing in Central Park as well as a fantastic day walking the street, sightseeing, shopping and eating some authentic New York Pizza and Lasagna on an outdoor patio

Shona Percival

Excellent location Would give 5 stars but they didn’t honour our Friends & Family rate, which was quite disappointingThat said, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and our room on the 31st floor was spacious (by NYC standards), and had great views

The car service that the hotel has is excellent, our driver Manny was fantastic Knowledgeable, dependable, and we used his services several times over the weekend we were there Manny is the best!

My family and I stayed there for a few days while on vacation Andrea at the front-desk was AMAZING I had called multiple times prior to checking in about my room type

I was told by a young guy at the front desk he couldn’t help When I called back again to asked to speak with a manager Andrea answered and made everything great She assigned us to a room that accommodated all of our requests Andrea is really a great asset to this hotel Thank you so much Andrea for fixing this stressful situation because we had been driving from Florida to New Jersey

Eli Ankri

Great place for NYC tourists, 7 min drive via the Holland tunnel or 15 min ferry ride from port imperialVery clean, great staff, good complimentary breakfast, and most important free parkingTarget, Starbucks, chipotle and much more 5 min walk from the hotelHighly recommend

Rohit Sikand

Clean and quite rooms Cannot blame the hotel for the traffic and trucks around Entry and exit is definitely not a positive as it does seem from the back of the building

Staff is helpful absolutely courteous Rooms ( suites) are large and clean Need to advise the front desk of the room cleaning service in advance – due to covid restrictions and availability The suites have two tvs and switch on and off together ! Again not an hotel issue but need to align the remote close to the TV that needs to be shut else the remote controls both TV’s…Breakfast is typical – eggs were COLD !!!!
