Restful & quiet , with great food 2 blocks from down town Whitehall Great place especially if you like chocolate We prefer the Godiva room over the kitchen with a small balcony

Can smell the delicious aromas of breakfast & freshly brewed coffee The innkeepers are the best we’ve encountered We go back as often as we can for the peace it offers & the easy exploration of the shops, eateries of Whitehall & Montague, as well as Lake Michigan/White Lake shores

We had an amazing stay at the Cocoa Cottage Bed and Breakfast We could not have been treated better We were welcomed with an afternoon treat of wine and a delicious chocolate treat

Lisa even went as far as checking on a restaurant we were interested in and made the reservations for us Imagine our delight when we returned to our rooms later that evening to find another home-made chocolate treat left on our beds, along with a handwritten, personalized note left by Lisa and Larry We had the most outstanding breakfast prepared by Larry, with yet again, another sweet chocolate treat to compliment the meal We found Lisa and Larry to be delightful, kind and informative hosts We would love to return again and will absolutely recommend this establishment to our friends

Our stay at Cocoa Cottage was amazing! Larry and Lisa have done a wonderful job restoring their home and providing a unique and pleasant experience The house was gorgeous We couldn’t get over the beautiful trim and detail throughout the home

The special chocolate touches in everything were wonderful Homemade cocoa with breakfast, delicious chocolate ganache, chocolates waiting for us throughout the day in our room All so yummy and appreciated The hand prepared breakfasts were above and beyond Our Suite had a wonderful Jacuzzi tub Lisa and Larry were great about suggesting things to do around town Stores to stop in, Places to eat, where to rent bikes, kayaks, etc The outside area was enjoyable as well It was a little early in the season to take full advantage, but there were pleasant and private sitting areas to enjoy throughout the property We’re looking forward to staying at the Cocoa Cottage again in the future

Not a bad place It was a bit older, with some aspects being outdated But overall, a decent stay

I would stay again Breakfast was minimal, but enough to satisfy everyone in our family Hot tub looked a little sketchy, brown streaks all over (possibly rust?) and a pile of dirt in the bottom But water was clear and hot Nice little area outside of pool, we ate our dinner out there Although the keycard reader did not work, so we got locked out there Room was fine, aside from a horribly loud, squeaky closet door Room was clean, pull-out bedding was in room, decent sizeBut the staff……every person on staff that I interacted with was extremely polite, kind and helpful Kudos on that! That can just ruin a hotel stay for meEnjoyed my stay!

For the most part this place is clean, food is mediocre I had to switch my room after two nights because of flooding from the use of the tub but couldn’t because the place was booked The last day of my stay I was able to switch

I was there for a total of 5 days I was told I would get points added to my Marriott account for the hassle of keeping towels down by the door but didn’t After calling three times asking about points I said forget it We stayed at another Fairfield Inn in Kentucky and it was truly remarkable Fresh food like eggs, bacon and sausage With fresh fruit , bagels and coffee cakes Kids loved the place

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTELThis hotel is a joke We booked our stay Wednesday before we left and paid in full We had a funeral to attend the day of checking and we only wanted to get into our room and decompress-this wasn’t going to happen

The Fairfield decided they didn’t need to uphold our reservation because it was booked through a third party and never kept a room for us On top of that, they lied about a room being available and wasted two hours of our already emotional day by making use wait while they “cleaned” a room-which never happened Then when we asked for the manager we were told he wasn’t on site when he was and he was walking around us with HEADPHONES in I will do my best to not book a Fairfield again and with the Marriot Group, which will be hard since they are everywhere Thankfully, Hotelscom took care of the issue at no extra charge and even got us into an upgraded hotel

The only thing nice I can say is the beds appear to be clean Hotel and rooms are very old Need alot of updates

Toilet seat was broken No security for outside doors Anybody can just walk in Website says breakfast included This is false Went down at 8am for some food and they are only serving coffee Absolutely Nothing else No fruit or bagels, etc Hallways have a musty stench Windows are dirty Kids swam in pool, which was freezing, and I had to scoop leaves out of it Went to find the guest laundry, which after searching all over finally asked the front desk and its in lower level No signs We were told there were only 2 rooms left when we made reservations Parking lot had about 6 cars we found this interesting Pretty sure the lower level has some permanent guest staying if I could have found another place to stay I would of left I would not recommend for families

a coop

Rooms are nice but the fixtures are outdated for sure they really need to clean and replace the bathroom fixtures who wants to use a whirlpool tub with corded jets and faucet And grout in shower stall that looks like it haven’t been cleaned in yearsAccording to the site and check in breakfast is included

There wasn’t anyThe door lock key system is horrible multiple attempts for everyone to get it to work they look 30 years old the brass is so dirty and worn down lookingOther then that was very nice for the price and in general everything else was very clean worked wellStaff was very friendly and polite

Tess Crawford

Granted the outside was alittle cleaner than the place we first made our reservation

it was not the cleanest inside Now im not very picky but we got a jacuzzi room and it was gross! Trash under the chair from previous ppl Used tissue behind the bed A layer of dust behind the furniture Dirt and hair in the tub!!! The ppl you call to make reservations are not on site! And any issues you have they ask you to please call the number not good! Lady was rude at the desk, they charge 25$ for a hour late checkout! The only good thing was the very large outdoor pool, but it also was dirty so i had to clean it before my family could swim Apparently they dont have anyone to clean it! Not a happy customer after spending 200 for a room Also no masks after being mandated I understand somethings are missed and we are having a hard times during this pandemic they they dont do there job, and we will not be back! Not for that price!!

Best hotel I’ve stayed at in all of Muskegon, so considerate friendly and family oriented The rooms are cozyClean and very affordable

and not to mention you have a little kitchen hands down the best hotel in Muskegon area and the most affordable the family that runs it are the most considerate friendly people and very accommodating!! If you have children I definitely recommend it’s calm and peaceful a good environment for children compared to all the other hotels in that area was sad to leave the only plaee I’ve stayed where I felt like I was at home! Will definitely choose this hotel every single time

Krissy Nadjkovic

The rooms are ok, price is a little high for no accommodations, and we had the RUDEST person in the room next to us and the owners were just like, oh he’s old and can’t hear so good Well waking us up at 7am REVING his truck up, which he parked taking up 2 almost three spaces, and having his TV on blast til 4am, being “older” doesn’t give you an excuse to be rude;( tho the owners are extremely nice;)

Alberto Mannari

I slept here because it was the cheapest place in the whole area between Holland and North if Silver Lake On the price ($65/nt +tax during the summer) this place is unbeatable Of course the quality goes accordingly with the price so you can’t expect much

The room was okay apart the strong smoke smell The bathroom was small, and we can say it didn’t make me feel very comfortable in using it The room also had a small kitchen that I didn’t useThe owner is friendly and gave me a double at the same price of a single (I was traveling alone)This place is good for a night or two if you’re on a budget

We just had a wonderful two night trip here We were unsure what to expect but pleasantly surprised at how great of a hotel this was The feeling is so quaint and cute when we arrived

The room was clean and spacious and the view was amazing!! My husband and I enjoyed our coffee on the little deck overlooking the lake The breakfast each morning was great and filled our bellies before hitting the theme parks with our kids The warm, fresh cookies at night were also so appreciated The town of Montague was super cute too It looked like the setting of a movie or a good book We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

This hotel was beautiful!!! The room was pretty clean aside from a couple hairs in the bathroom Fireplace needed new batteries but the front desk took care of it right away There was coffee with flavored creamer all night and day

They even had specialty coffee like Michigan Maple and Traverse City Cherry available I was pleasantly surprised to have a small breakfast included as well I will come back again!!
