I wish I could give Hamilton House more than 5 stars It is outstanding The owner, Gloria, could not have been more helpful and accommodating, going out of her way to make us feel comfortable and welcome

The breakfasts were superb, even better than we had hoped for We would highly recommend Hamilton House to anyone visiting the Whitewater area

Nancy Fallon-Houle

Fantastic food, service, lodging, beds, atmosphere, towels, toiletries, coffee, patio and painted lady coffee porch! Fascinating painted lady historic house, but with new amenities and plumbing! History and art of the house is so interesting and beautiful Amazing host Gloria, who is a professional chef and superb cook! Generous food portions! Everything about our stay here in July 2022 was superb Highly recommend! It is 15 minutes from beautiful Kettle Morraine State Park, hiking and mountain biking

Carol Reierson

My husband and I were here for 2 nights to celebrate his birthday, including the Fireside to see Sound of Music (which was fantastic, by the way!) (The bed-and-breakfast we used to reserve when going to Fireside had permanently closed) The reviews for Hamilton House were great, so we felt pretty confident booking here Excited even

It did not disappoint!! This place is amazing!!! Like you’re stepping into the Victorian era—beautiful woodworking throughout (staircase is exquisite), paintings, stunning fireplaces, beautifully and authentically decorated…everywhere! A very serene and peaceful place…a wonderful ‘spirit’ (vibes) about the place And, meticulously clean!!! We love the special touches like the soft, thick towels (placed everywhere you might need one), bathrobes, a place on either side of the bed for cellphones, plus outlets/extension cords thoughtfully placed, etc As an added bonus, there’s a rich history to the place, complete with a link to the Underground Railroad (ongoing investigation underway—interesting!) Gloria (the owner) took time to share with us and even gave us a tour!To top off our great experience, the food was 5 star!!! Gloria is a very skilled, highly-trained gourmet chef For starters, the crêpes were the absolute best either of us have ever tasted! We would highly, highly recommend this place! Looking forward to future stays!!

Pulled in at 11 pm, after booking this hotel online in route, to find several groups of men with lawn chairs set up drinking and partying in the parking lot Had we not already paid for our room and were going to be charged for our stay anyway, we would have kept on driving When we expressed our concern to the man who checked us in, his response was that “they’re fine”

We stayed on the first floor and there were men sitting in their car right outside our room window partying and drinking late into the night When we left around 9:30 am the next day, we walked through a cloud of pot smoke to get to our vehicle and I snapped this picture of the remains from the night before Needless to say, I felt unsafe here and management could care less what is occurring on their grounds

Steven Jolicoeur

We had a lot of luggage and were placed on the second floor with only stairs going up no elevator The whole place had a strange smell in the hallways and when entering our room we were hit with a smell that smelt like urine Inspecting our bed everything had stains on it

We were offered another room but it also had stains Not sure how this hotel got the rating it did Didn’t stay we kept driving instead

Thai Kane

So they have a no refund policy As well before you book they don’t notify you anywhere that you need to be 21 to check in I called this hotel over 10 times

Expedia also tried to contact the hotel and they wouldn’t answer These guys are just scam artists out to get your money go somewhere else I recommend country inn & suites or best Western where they won’t steal your money

I arrived late in the evening The young man came quickly to the desk, pulled my reservation and had me checked in quickly Very pleasant

The room was clean, comfortable and spacious I went right to sleep and was up for breakfastFood was fresh and/or we’ll packaged Nice selectionCheck out was quick and I was on the road

Brett Haviland

Who’s problem is it that the hotel is listed multiple places as pet friendly and they aren’t any longer? Apparently mine I was told I had to take my 8lb dog and that I could not stay, even though I had screenshots of my reservation on Priceline and the listing on Trip Advisor They list on Priceline, so they should honor it, even if it changed

I was treated terrible I’d be really careful choosing this place as it is probably not accurateThe clerk called the owner and he said “no” I get it, a hotel has the choice to turn away pets, but it should have been honored as long as it’s in the listing The clerk stated I was not the first one to have this issue 😳Anyway, the floor was filthy in the lobby, and it wasn’t a nice place at all, so not a total loss I stayed at the Town Suite a few miles away and it was fantastic

Stayed here for the Jimmy Buffett concert at Alpine Valley Music Theatre This is a $70 a night motel at best, but during Alpine Valley events, They charge over $300 a night! This is price gouging & should be illegal They also make you stay 2 nights minimum! The concert got canceled by the local authorities due to weather & rescheduled 3 weeks later

I politely stated to the hotel owner that I’d paid his “event prices” & that I’d come back in 3 weeks & pay normal prices He promptly told me the price would be the same “event price” that I’d already paid, only all he had left was a bigger room & the price would be OVER $600 for the 2 nights! Meanwhile, I’d talked to other guests who weren’t concert goers, and they were paying normal prices! what a scam! I went ahead & paid the price to come back, because I wanted to be guaranteed a place to stay, but I’ll be reporting this motel to whatever authorities I can

Tracy Burdette

We stayed here due to the location near Alpine Valley Music Theatre I booked one night for our concert back in Feb and they called in April to tell me there was now a 2 nt minimum Jimmy Buffett is worth it so I did it

Price gouging at its finest We paid $555 for 2 nts at a $69 motel at best While sitting outside on second night a small trucker pulled in and got a room for $117 Even that was nuts Dark, old, dirty showers, terrible towels We brought our own sheets, pillows and blanket thank goodness We are not fussy people but this was ridiculous Hampton Inn right up the street for $202 for concert night UGH WORST PART is IF they used any of this gouged concert goers money to update the place it could be cute and homey The location is good and the town of Elkhorn is adorable I understand the business tactic Demand is demand but the family owned business should be completely embarrassed and I cannot believed they looked us in the face at check in

I admit the pool area restrooms were a bit rundown Rust happens Still the pool and hot tub were clean and relaxing

Our room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was delicious Try the omelets! They said they’re scheduled for renovations in the fall but either way I would gladly stay there again Hopefully next time for longer than one night

Erin O

Very friendly people at the front desk However, an extremely loud group of teenage boys was staying in the room over ours with their parents down the hall We had to call the front desk about 5 times and even had them come in our room to hear the noise at about 1 am

Would have been happier if they would have thrown the teenagers out or moved them to another room Besides that, the room was clean and they had complimentary breakfast which is always nice

Alaina Johnston

This hotel was amazing!! The service was awesome, and the people in Fort Atkinson are the sweetest (At least on my trip) we were super close to family in the area, really close to pick and save, and walking distance from the hotel there was an Arby’s, Dunkin Donuts, pizza hut, subway, Kwik trip, and a few other placesBreakfast: Pancakes, muffins, bread, bagels, cinnamon rolls, eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, juice (orange, apple, cranberry), water, coffee (regular, decaf), hot chocolate, tea

The pool was amazing, the regular pool wasn’t too cold at all and the hottub was niceThey also have vending with snacks and drinksIce machine on each floorAll in all very nice and accommodating Staff was all so so so kind and made our trip amazingMy only warning is that you should really try to push your room door shut until you hear that extra click, make sure your turning door lock can lock This never caused any problems for us but it’s good to know

I like their pool so much me and my family go there every weekend! In the summer I never got a room but I really like their pool so much I would give their pool a 4 star but I’m not sure about the rooms the bathroom room also gets a 4 star it’s cleanPlease don’t hate the pool it’s amazing!

Brandon Meiners

DONT STAY HERE!!!! My family had reservations to stay here last weekend for a wedding I made the reservation over the phone with the evening lady five days prior Told her I had 4 kids and my wife with on the stay

We go to check in and the manager checks us in and asks how many breakfast coupons we needed I told him 6 (my wife, me, and our 4 kids) and he starts screaming at me that it is against the law for him to put that many in a room! My wife asked him what we can do to stay, he proceeds to scream and said we can either get another room or he will break the law if we paid $20 extra per kid We cancelled and went to the amazing hotel down the street DONT STAY HERE!

The management at this facility is excellent! Utilizing this location for an event and needing meeting space with hotel rooms was an incredibly positive experience Not only is there a good offering of meeting rooms, but the space is clean, has all the necessary resources to hold a good quality meeting, and Karl was a dream to work with! Very knowledgeable, responsive, and simply a joy to work with! The lobby is clean and welcoming, the staff were great, the hotel rooms were clean and spacious, and they have a great atrium area for the large pool which is enjoyable for all guests The location is excellent being right off of I-90 and accessible to many restaurants and other stores you may need during your stay

Excellent location for both meeting room space as well as overnight accommodations I will definitely secure this location again in the future for meeting room needs as well as overnight accommodations

Other parts of the hotel are renovated, but apparently our room was not The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling, despite signs of glue smeared on top of all the seams The shower head / handheld selector was broken, but maintenance was able to do a temporary fix

We did not have enough towels I was also surprised that there were literally 4 sheets of kleenex left in the tissue box The room and the walls looked old The carpet and upholstered chairs appeared not clean The chairs had some stains The mattress was moving as if it was on a boxspring made of jelloThe pool and hot tub were enjoyable There were only 3 clean towels available in the pool area as well You can see into the workout room from the pool area I saw that the water cooler in there needing to be replaced, tooCheck-in for the guest ahead of me took a while My check-in was not that fast I could have checked in via the app, but the app showed no rooms available for selecting Maybe this hotel only operates during the busy summer season That would explain all of this Thankfully the breakfast did not disappoint

I mean, it’s a pretty normal comfort inn Friendly staffOur room had damp carpets for some reason and smelled like what we could best describe as “wheat”

The outlet by the bed didn’t work The extraction fan in the bathroom didn’t work eitherEverything was clean, just needs some issues fixedAnd the pool was a very nice temperature, but it seems the ventilation was on the fritz because it was so humid in there !!!!

Jennifer Rayna

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at The pool had a lot of chlorine but that’s to be expected The free breakfast was the BEST free breakfast of any hotel I’ve been too! They had omelets with toppings, waffles

large and mini size, biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, 4 different cereals, toast, 3 different kinds of juice, milk, bagels and cream cheese, mini muffins, fresh fruit, Danish and cinnamon rolls individually packaged and I’m sure I’m forgetting something! Something for everyone! Our 2 queen bed suite had a couch with a pull out bed as well and we only paid like $130 a night We will definitely be back!

Brittany Ritchie

Everything was quite satisfactory Clean, good location, good amenities, fair service, quiet, smoke-free, pet-free Breakfast was very good with a lot of options

In particular, the coffee and waffles were excellentOnly issue was with the beds Far too firm for my family’s liking Beds are the most important part of the experience Could hardly sleep at night Because of this, I likely wouldn’t stay here again, but I do respect that this hotel got everything else right

Lacey Kimpel

We came here for two nights to stay with family on a block of rooms on the 3rd floor Hotel was updated and very clean We enjoyed the pool

Unfortunately, the battery died to the lock of our room and we were locked out for a few hours Staff and the manager were very accommodating to us during all this and went above and beyond Great breakfast options We would stay here again!

Breakfast apparently only offered when there is a full house No daily housekeeping The front desk isn’t manned during the night

The rooms were recently renovated but the rooms do still smell faintly of cigerette smoke from years past The room I had was otherwise fairy clean with a nice view of the river The bed was super comfy The parking lot is in desperate need for repaving It’s within walking distance of Fort’s downtown Pretty quiet hotel It was overall a decent “just okay” kind of hotel, certainly not in the bottom half of bad hotels in the area

Joe Lukaszewski

Our room was updated and clean You can tell it is an older building because it shows its age around the edges The bed was very comfortable and I slept well

Having 2 sinks in the room is a nice bonus not usually seen They had a simple continental breakfast, I think it is only offered on weekends I would definitely stay there again if needing a hotel in Fort Atkinson

Maryann Kalbow

I have been staying here for about three weeks now I come in to town once a year to spend time with my father I have no problems here the staff is amazing and very helpful they have even serve us dinner a few times which is great The whole area is kept very clean and if you need anything the are more than willing to help I have a Riverview window so that makes it nice it is very quiet around here even when it’s a full house people are respectful and polite

I will definitely be coming back

My 2 friends and I were visiting Lake Geneva for a girls weekend getaway We were looking for an affordable option right outside of the tourist area, but we are extremely particular about hotels We decided to go with this hotel based on the reviews and it did not disappoint! Very modern hotel, everything was very neat, clean, and well maintained, and the rooms were very clean and spacious! Free hot continental breakfast is served every morning hot and fresh! No complaints at all about the friendly staff

We noticed Travis, one of the hotel staff members who worked the morning shift during our stay, in particular We were impressed attentive and hospitable he was, he went above and beyond each day to make sure that everything in the cafe/diner area was always hot and fresh and replenished as needed and that the area, including the tables, were always clean! We will be coming back and recommending to family and friends!

Diane Zuber

Very convenient location for Belfey Theater and Dancing Horses Theater Room was clean Breakfast was fantastic

The only reason for the 4 stars was because we could not connect to our Amazon Prime account to watch a movie We had stayed at the Holiday Inn in Milwaukee the night before and there was an option and were clear, easy to follow directions for this right on the screen We called the front desk and they were not sure if there was an option to do this with our phone as the one in Milwaukee had I suggest you call them and offer this option for your guests Other than that it was a nice stay Also wish you had a hot tub!

Chris Parent

After a terrible experience at a place, (Comfort Inn) It was like night and day The Holiday Inn Express in Elkhorn Wisconsin saved the trip! Across the board AMAZING! From the room to the Staff, nothing but praise, especially to Jamie, Who We booked Our stay with at the front desk

Thanks for all Your help and We would recommend this one to Anyone Who is visiting Geneva Lake for Their Vacation stay 😊
