I usually DO NOT leave bad reviews, but this hotel deserves one I am highly disappointed that this hotel sent me an email after 4 PM to cancel my hotel an hour after check-in due to current guests deciding to extend their stay Furthermore, I am disappointed how they chose to cancel my two-bedroom suite and then move from Ohio to New Castle in P

A into a one-bedroom when I originally reserved a room for four of my guests traveling for my graduationUpon my parent’s arrival, they were told by the employees at the desk at New Castle that The Residence Inn had decided to pay for only one of my rooms This was not the original agreement made by the management at the Residence Inn after one of my family members had called The manager told us that they would cover both rooms due to the displacementThis does not make sense I originally booked a two-bedroom suite with two bedrooms for FOUR guests How do you cancel my booking and transfer me to another hotel (almost 30 miles out), and tell me that you will only cover the cost of one room with one bed? What about the other two guests who were displaced? I’m sorry, but this is not my issue, and I did book almost a week in advance? This experience caused nothing but anxiety on the morning of my graduation It devastated my graduation experience, and I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone Another person traveling with me decided to call the Marriott because they are a brand member They were told that there was nothing they could do for me because they only resolved issues for Marriot members This is about ETHICS, and I will seek to recover my loss and additional costs incurred After all I incurred an extra $200 because they chose to transfer my booking almost 30 miles out from their hotelOh, and can you believe Residence Inn still charged me $400? I will continue to monitor these charges to see if the funds will be returned to my account SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS; IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!!!I give credit where it is due; Therefore, it is only fitting that I mention that the New Hampton Hotel in White Castle, PA, was extremely helpful in helping us figure this all outPS I also think it is unfair not to advertise that this hotel is an extended stay hotel

This hotel has seen better days Cracked tiles, holes in the walls, damage to the appliances Overall it’s just beat-up

Great staff working here, and you can tell they are making the best of a tough situation The owners need to shut down for a year and remodel Cabinet handles falling off, dents in the refrigerators It’s timeUnfortunately, this hotel sees good occupancy due to a lack of other options Especially if you are a BonVoy Marriott member, there’s not a lot to choose fromIf you can stay at the courtyard in Canfield, that’s a much better option, but they are frequently 100% bookedHopefully the owners will reinvest their profits into this property, or Marriott corporate will step in, because this hotel is below standardAgain, this is unfortunate because the staff is working hard and they have some great people here

Jenn Martin

The hotel was run down and not well cared for Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and the floors in the hallway and elevator were filthy There were bins and bags of garbage left sitting around in the hallways

It smelledWe always stay with Marriott and this does not meet their typical standards We will never stay here again

The room was nice, clean and beds were comfortable The gentlemen who checked us in (evening) , I think his name was Dominic was very upbeat and helpful The breakfast room was clean and had some hot and cold food options, coffee was nice and hot! One of the days they had egg /spinach/ cheese omelette in a cup and it was delicious, I was there for 4 days so I personally would have liked some plain oatmeal with some toppings as an option and more fresh fruit options

Terry Elliott

My enjoyable experience at this hotel began at the front desk”Neil” must have a degree in customer service because he was engaged and helpful and friendly

he recommended a very nice restaurant within walking distance of the hotel He also honored my request for a particular type of room and was helpful each time I saw himI enjoyed staying at this Marriott hotel as it was very nice & clean and close to many restaurants & stores I would definitely stay here again and I hope “Neil” receives the recognition he deserves!

Brendan Varley

Sherry and Team provide amazing customer service and cannot be beat at this price point The breakfast, room cleanliness, and amenities were very much appreciated Even more so was how Sherry went above and beyond by mailing a small package that included my prescription sunglasses all the way to North Carolina after we returned home

If you need a comfortable night’s rest and want a friendly staff, look no further!

Simple check in! Simple check out! One of the better hilton breakfasts I’ve had in my visits cross country Not too much of a selection but the eggs were perfectly cooked and bacon for days I especially liked the banana bread waffle mix which provided a sweeter and more tasty waffle mix than what hotels usually offer for their complimentary breakfast

Coffee was free flowing and tasty, (not burnt!) Pet friendly hotel with very friendly staff It’s exactly what you’d expect from a Hampton inn

Sherri Toelke

Rooms were clean, temperature control was very steady, water was not highly chlorinated :), check-in staff was very polite and helpful No major complaints, just a little more pricey than average and nothing to really set it apart Only 2 minor complaints would be the water pressure was just okay and the walls are either a little thin or there was some little kid screeching in the halls for about 20 minutes at 7:30 AM, which was early given our late arrival

Booked a room with 2 beds and a sleeper sofa early Friday for a late-night arrival through Booking-dot-com Room was approved and paid for Called later to verify check-in time

Arrived at 11:30PM after driving 7 hours with two minor children and my disabled wife I was told that Booking-dot-com “overbooked” it We had to scramble to find a room nearby at midnight and ended up at the Motel 6 next door Payment and fees were refunded, but will take “at least 7 business days to process”, putting us down $200 400+ miles from home Comfort Suites was absolutely no help, unwilling to grant a partial refund, and left us to fend for ourselves Did Booking-dot-com overbook? Did Comfort Suites give it away? We’ll never know Worst experience ever from all sides

Amber S

First off there is a $50 charge incase of damage added to your cost It is credited back to you after checking out within I believe it was 7-10 days The lady that checked us in made a point to tell everyone she checked in prior to them paying

Room was real clean Smelled fine (no off smell)Towels, blankets were cleanBed was firm however that didn’t ruin my sleep Kiddo said his sleep was amazing HahaShower is a little strange, no sliding door so the floor gets wet or the bath mat However, the water temperature was nice and hotThe pool was open Water was a bit cloudyBut nonetheless clean

This hotel is located in a renovated historical building My husband and I stayed in a room for two nights The price was reasonable for the quality

The hotel has all of the typical amenities as well as unique amenities such as an onsite restaurant and self-parking that costs extra I recommend parking in the lot rather than the public garage The employees at the front desk were courteous, and upon our request, another employee brought extra towels to our room within minutes The building and our room were in excellent condition and were very clean

Don Vanderpool

Front desk was pretty rude But the shower was so slow the water wouldn’t even come out far enough to take a good shower You had to bump up to the wall

It kept changing temperature from cold to hot We found a used q-tip next to the bed It is a beautiful hotel Our room was large But for $200 a night I expect top quality and service I was disappointed overall

June Griese

Terrible!! I see all these 5 stars and wonder why? First things firstprice

Highway robbery Just based on that I will never come back I expect to pay 100-200 for a higher end double queen room but not $450 We only live a half hour away but came to watch a show and was trying to be responsible and not drive even with one beverage Second bad mark 12 more dollars for parking? really?Homeless man sitting outside car garage elevator gave us the creeps right off We were offered Hotel cookies ( credit where credits due)We get to our roomslow elevatorsThe room looks nice really, a bit extra room then your normalA couple more points Shower kept getting cool while showering, No breakfast included I repeatNo breakfast includedAt 450 I was expecting a free robeinstead we,re leaving hungry and broke

The rooms at this motel are meticulously clean the management obviously takes pride in keeping this place in tip top condition There were a couple of issues with sound transmission from the third floor, which was surprising, since concrete slab construction is used in the building, but I suppose that some people just walk very clumsily

The air conditioning unit was extremely noisy Unfortunately the management did not have any solution to this problem because every room was booked, but simply running the unit during the day cool down the room enough to avoid having to use it at bedtime This is a nice place and I would certainly book rooms here again

Jay YouTube

After seeing the great ratings, the wife and thought we would try this place this year Seeing the great ratings I booked a 2 nigh stay First impression was clean and orderly

After getting settled in, we informed the desk we found empty condom wrappers under the mattress and even a pair of camo colored shorts in the corner behind the stand Nothing was said or any attempt to make it right (Different room, clean up the existing room or any kind of compensation) they acted very concerned at the time that I told them and said that they would get a hold of somebody, but never heard a thing When we go back next year, we won’t stay here again

Ed Noschese

This is a nice clean place to stay in the Boardman area The staff were friendly and accommodating The rooms were clean and the property was well cared for

It’s right off the exit and near a lot of things They also offer breakfastA few things I noticed that were off:1 The staff need to let you into the pool area2 They are still blaming Covid for no daily housekeeping3 If you want more towels you have to bring your old towels down to be exchanged Seriously who is still stealing towels anymore?!4 They barricade off a large portion of the breakfast area in the evening so that people can’t congregate I’m sure it’s to stop lobby parties but it does send a message that we don’t want you to enjoy yourself in our lobby I did find that odd for a hotelBased on the quality and cleanliness it’s a great hotel, the smaller details pulled from the rating

I am posting a 2nd review for this hotel because I was unfairly and fraudulently charged a $250 deep cleaning fee to my company card without my consent and without contacting me The room I stayed in cost $120 per night this is ridiculous I asked for proof and I was sent a picture of a toilet bowl with a cigarette butt in it

I do not smoke but was told that even if it occurred after I checked out it was my responsibility???! It’s humiliating to be accused of something that you did not do and ludicrous to be charged an exorbitant amount of money without justification, consent or without the courtesy of contacting me first This is a case of if your accused then you’re guilty and management refuses to even give you as the customer the benefit of the doubt No explanation of the cleaning process that amounts to a $250 fee No itemization of work done or explanation of charges I will continue to write reviews on every major website and travel/booking site that I can find about this incident Other people need to be informed of the injustice of being charged fees based on doctored evidence supposedly collected by hotel cleaning staff, as we all know they are the most reliable and honest people working there I won’t say every Holiday Inn Express is guilty of this but as simple search online reveals horror stories from other customers that have had to deal with the same situation And for the record I did not commit this offense and will continue to be adamant about that

Honestly if it wasn’t for the lack of window coverage it’d of been okay I came in around 1 AM and was awoken around 5:45-6 AM by the sun in my eyes There were no actual blinds just a sheer window cover that was useless for everything

The only “blinds” were on a short railing and didnt even cover half of the windows We were on the second floor and yet somehow still on the same level with the road (it’s an odd predicament) so absolutely no privacy The breakfast was a nice variety but anything bread like was stale Overall not worth $177 but a clean place to sleep

Cindy Crick

This was literally the worst place I’ve EVER stayed at paid $219 for one night dirty, smelly, and TONS of unsupervised kids Tons of kids in the pool and no adult supervision so you had kids jumping , diving, one kid dunking other kids, throwing volleyballs at people When did the intolerable noice start? 5:15am am $219? save your money

We read the reviews and were finally convinced to give this hidden gem a try Yes, it is on the premises of a truck wash/trucker’s mall But it was clean, comfortable, and our room on the ground floor and away from the parking lot was very quiet

The staff was pleasant and efficient We’ll stay here again on our way to visit family in Illinois!

Property is kept nice Walls and floors very thin so you can hear everything People sound like they are stomping all the time and you can clearly hear others conversations and TVs Water pressure was terrible in the shower Over all very nice place but can get noisy with the very thin walls

They canceled my room after midnight and left me searching for a place after driving 14 hours When I called the hotel, the guy actually thought it was funnyThey did text me 30 minutes ahead of time to let me know, but never called me

It’s obvious that all guests are traveling some distance, or they wouldn’t need a hotel in the first place Makes you wonder why they would only text and expect you to look at your phone or answer texts while driving I am a diamond member and I stay at this hotel weeklyVery disappointing

Room wasn’t bad, with that saidI didn’t have any bathroom amenitiesShower gel dispenser was empty and body was dispenser lid was on loose

No signs indicating the turn in for the hotel At night you can’t see the drive I passed it, made a u turn and when I came back found that you can’t make a left hand turn into the property from the other direction

so had to go down and make a u turn again Also, the staff just goes down the hall starting at 9:30 just knocking in doors and walking away to see who has checked out or not in passed experience if you don’t get up and the door in twenty seconds or so they try to come on in, so I got up and said through the door we are still here and would be checking out around eleven but there was no one there So I open the door and the cleaner was already a couple doors down talking to another room he had knocked on I asked what he wanted standing in the hall in my underwear Told him he was being rude for knocking and then walking away at checking out asked what the standard practice was for room cleaning and the clerk said they don’t know who’s checked out because people just leave They come in at 9am and start cleaning I said I understand people just walk out but they have already cleaned all the rooms of people who have? and people put their room cards the little clear box at the front desk before they leave too so you’ve cleaned all those rooms too before you go knocking on doors and walking off? So all this turns out to be my fault, according the the desk clerk, because I didn’t put out a do not disturb sign out that I didn’t have my bad

This hotel is roughly half way between where my family lives and I live so I have stopped here a few times when I need a break in the drive The service is always exceptional, the rooms are clean, and it is conveniently located right off of the highway The last time I stopped I got in way later than I had planned but their staff had everything ready when I arrived so it only took a minute to check in and they let me get a late check out so I could sleep in a little

I will definitely be staying again

Laura Gregory

My boyfriend and I have stayed here many times and have had great experiences We just checked out this morning and were very dissatisfied The parking lot was still covered in snow and our car got stuck

There was very little to eat for breakfast and no towels in the pool area Any other time we have checked out of this hotel we were able to pay cash We were told they don’t accept cash and that my boyfriend’s card had already been charged I thought they didn’t charge your card until after you checked out I understand the issues with being short staffed but you can not be charging top dollar for a subpar stay All of these have added up to us not coming back

Enjoyed this property very much Starting with high level of service at the front desk Thank you Eleanor 😊 The pool & hot were very enjoyable

The pool area is very well done and the hot 🔥 tub nestled in the corner in an atrium style So relaxing The upkeep and cleanliness of property was refreshing My room was large comfortable and clean my new go to when in area

Rose Kelly

Stayed at this hotel with my husband and 2 younger children We stayed in a king suite and my kids enjoyed the giant jet tub The pool was smaller and shallow enough for even my youngest to fully enjoy, which was great! The hot tub area is beautiful as is the waterfall and seating area in the back of the hotel

This was one of the prettiest hotels we’ve stayed at The only issue we had was with the front desk staff initially assuming we would be having some kind of loud party (negatively judging us based on our appearance), but once we established we weren’t throwing a major rager the staff was courteous and attentive

Marcia Stowers

I just stayed here for a two day stay and I did not expect my stay to be this awesome This place is beautiful gives you resort vibes beautiful patio pool jacuzzi area Me and my two children only intended staying one night

After seeing how amazing it was I booked another night The staff was super friendly and welcoming always greeting and my children walking in and out!

The hotel was run down and not well cared for Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and the floors in the hallway and elevator were filthy There were bins and bags of garbage left sitting around in the hallways

It smelledWe always stay with Marriott and this does not meet their typical standards We will never stay here again

This is an exceptional hotel in my opinion My room on the first floor near the door was in a quiet location The room was spacious and cheery

There were various types of pillows on the bed so I was able to select one that suited me the best Although I had to search for the microwave and refrigerator because the desk clerk didn’t tell me anything and there was no directions in the room I finally found it in a cupboard low to the floor Elderly person or one with disabilities might have a hard time operating the microwave since it is so low to the floor I like the fact that the hair dryer was in a bag on a hook behind the door rather than mounted on the wall The shower was quite spacious with glass doors There was a seat to use while showering if necessary The room even had an ironing board and iron which I used I would definitely come back to this hotel over other ones in the area

We always check the room before we settle in Checked the bed, their was a blood stain on the sheet! Called the front desk, they sent more sheets and pillow cases to the room Handed them to my wife, yes! WE HAD TO MAKE THE BED!!!! Then on top of that, they didn’t give us a fitted sheet so we had to call back downstairs for that! Then they gave us Queen size sheets for a King size bed!!! We drove 8hrs

For this!!! My mothers private viewing is tomorrow, we got hear about 2030 We were tired and hungry and had to deal with this Really!!!! Would I recommend this to others????? What do you think??????

Our reservations were booked for the Residence Inn back in March We were moved to this site three hours before the date of arrival on July21st Very, very short notification

In addition, The ice machine was broken, the front counter personnel were rude and complained about their jobs, we were not allocated the correct amount of towels during our stay and had to repeatedly ask for more, on our second day there And had to request more, the fold out couch did not have any sheets, blankets or pillows, the room smelled like a smokers lounge, the parking lot was dimly lit with several lights not working, the complementary breakfast was not properly supplied to service all of the guests…and this is not the entire list

Rooms were nice and roomy Breakfast is standard Staff was very nice

It was a pretty standard experience Rooms are what most would expect in a modern hotel Rooms were standard fare with 2 beds, tv, refrigerator, desk, wifi, sufficient lighting, bathroom with the standard shampoo bottles and soap bars, good water pressure, sufficient towels(in the room), etc

The lobby was on the smaller side The coffee bar appeared to be accessible however I didn’t partake (Starbucks is literally +/- 200 yards away score!) The front desk attendant was a little dismissive At one point, no one was there and I had to call out and knock on a door to get someone to come out When she finally did, the interaction left me feeling like I interrupted her dinner The pool was also on the smaller side, but we had fun We had to ask for towels because none were in the cart There’s also only about 10 chairs in there so if you have a bunch of people wanting to sit down, seating is limitedAgain, a pretty standard experience, which isn’t bad by any means Its just something you come to expect The rooms weren’t exceptional, neither was the service, just your average, forgettable hotel Would blend right in with other stays if it wasn’t for the family we stayed with

This place used to be wonderful to stay at It is still a wonderful hotel However, their pricing is not in accordance with their traffic, season, or area

They are on average 25% higher than Fairfield Inns in similar areas Most hotels have increased by 40% in price on average over the last two years This Fairfield has doubled their price somehow It’s incredibly expensive compared to other hotels
