This is a great place to stay Although there is some minor “wear” showing, the rooms and common areas are always CLEAN The beds are very comfortable

I am not a fan of the pillows, however The pillows start out as fluffy but compress solid as you sleep And the complementary breakfast bar is the BEST in the area It is kept fully stocked until it closes, which is a rare, wonderful find And last, the staff is top-notch They have been consistently positive, helpful, friendly and professional All in all, I highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express Just bring your own pillow

All Fun N’ Games

There were two young ladies manning the counter when I checked in They were not very accommodating, did not acknowledge that I was an IHG member and were not very friendly when asked questions When I was waiting for my laundry to get done I sat in one of the seats closest to the main entrance where I could hear the conversation of the two young ladies and then another employee very loudly joined in on their conversation

The subject matter was not appropriate for guest of the hotel to be listening to Why was I listening, you ask?? Because they were very loud as if there were no guests aroundThe vinyl curtain and the sheer curtain was heavily soiled with what looked like someone’s drink sprayed all over it and was so gross I didn’t even touch it to close the curtains which then caused light from your sign to shine brightly into the room This made the whole room feel gross and not very comfortable I didn’t say anything to the staff about it because how were they going to fix replacing the curtains? The laundry room was disgusting as the one washers detergent tray was crusted with old detergent and what appeared to be mold The other washers tray didn’t stay in place properlyEverything was not clean and this was not a comfortable stay

Everything you’d expect for a Marriott brand Easy access to local interstate and roads Close proximity to gas stations, fast food, and sit-down restaurants

Staff was friendly and welcoming Room was a little tight in some spaces (only 16-24 inches between furniture in walkway), but overall it was comfortable Bed left a little to be desired, but that’s likely my personal tastesThe only weird thing was a column in the corner of the bathroom closest to the toilet It makes it impossible for larger-than-average people to use the restroom normally (You can see it just to one side of the photos I’ve provided) You can tell it wasn’t originally intended to be there because they cut the light switch plate in half

Zekordavar Rimba

Beware of staying here, the hotel has security issues I had an item stolen from the room I filed a police report on the incident and had already reached out to the hotel manager regarding the incident

Yet, the hotel and its staff had trouble helping with the investigation The hotel does not even have proper security cameras to help in the investigation of the incident; they only have card keys history which can only tell so much

Alison is absolutely an amazing hostess She thinks of every detail to make you feel at home and comfortable The rooms are beautiful and every detail attended to

We ordered the meal as well and it was delicious The lemon tart was out of this world!!! The yard was so serene and we loved the screened in porch I liked that Dresden is so close to the interstate so it’s really not that far out your way in order to help a small business as well as see some pretty scenery I’d say this was the best Bed and Breakfast experience I’ve had

Brittany checked us in and she was friendly and very efficient during the check in process She definitely loves her job! The lobby was clean and very impressive Our room was very nice, and so clean

The chair and ottoman were so comfortable! The sheets were pristine, the bed was awesome, the shower beautiful and the water pressure amazing! This was our first time at this hotel and we will definitely be back

Lori Edwards

The manager and staff make this hotel! They were very accommodating when myself and my elderly parents needed a place to stay due to the power outages and a faulty generator The manager and front desk clerk went out of their way to help get my parents settled in a cool room I can’t say enough about the kindness we were shown

They also welcomed my service dog and made us feel comfortable The room service staff were great as well I want to thank all the staff at the DoubleTree for your warmth and kindness

Laura Green

The night front desk staff and GM were extremely nice and understanding when we had an issue with our bathroom They gave us a night for free and money to the restaurant However, it doesn’t really matter when the rooms were absolutely disgusting

Gross stuff on the walls, blood stains on the comforter and worst of all dried blood on the bottom of our toilet The shower head is very strong and sprayed the toilet and gross dirty water came off the toilet as well When I was looking to see where it was coming from, I found the blood We had to wear flip flops every time we showered or went into the bathroom They cleaned the bathroom the next morning but didn’t fully get the spot out! I don’t understand, how hard is it to get a on your knees and scrub blood off the toilet? I ended up using the disinfectant cloth that was left in the room to get rid of it Absolutely disgusting We also got stuck in the elevator and they ran out of parking We will be back in the area for other shows at Legend Valley, but we’ll never stay here again

Beautiful setting and lovely little hotel The best little motel I have stayed in of its type Quiet, out of the way of rumbling trucks

Like stepping back in time and staying at grandma’s well cared for tidy room, comfortable beds, clean and lovedWill stay here again and again

Connie Vincenzini

Clean, decent motel and family-run We would definitely stay here again The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner was not noisy and worked perfectly

The ceiling fan kept the air circulating which was a plus The staff was very friendly and kind The TV is run on ROKU and was at first intimidating, but the staff helped us figure it out and it also worked perfectly Great experience all the way around

Steve Arnold

I was in town for the semi-annual Buckeye Firearms Association Youth Shoot weekend as a Rifle Coach/Instructor Since I live in NW Ohio, commuting was out of the question I had stayed in a “chain” hotel the previous time, and found it atrocious

I chose Bakers based upon reviews and the website I was not disappointed!! The building is an older building, which means thicker walls and less noise Check in was quick and easy The room was small and no frills such as coffee, shampoo, etc However, I’m not an advocate of the hotel soaps and shampoos so that was not an issue, and there was coffee in the office area It was comfortable, clean and quiet The room was made up for the next night – something that the chains seem to think is an option I am in the area twice a year, and will stay at Bakers when ever I’m in the Zanesville area

The foyer is cheerful and comfortable It is also clean They have luggage carts available

Our room smelled and appeared clean The breakfast was amazing! Meat, eggs, waffles, muffins, cereals, fruit, bagels, toast, oatmeal, and more was offered The juice and coffee was also good options Truly my biggest complaint is that the hot tub water was room temperature, and the pool was VERY cloudy and cold The pool area is pretty, but needs to be cleaned and warmed up That’s disappointing simply because we could’ve stayed elsewhere while on our trip, but we chose there BECAUSE they had a hot tub and pool available

What a pleasant surprise this place was My wife and I were driving late and I saw it sitting up on the hill as we drove by I called and asked if they had rooms and spoke to one of the nicest ladies on the phone

So we turned around and stayed for the night Very nice clean rooms with comfortable beds! I was impressed Can’t go wrong staying here Excellent friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms

Dustin Taylor

The lady at front desk was so great that if I didn’t live out of town I would have offered her a job in my own company The rooms and hotel are hands down one of the best I have ever stayed out You walk into the hotel and your room and the wow factor is amazing

The young lady at the front desk was so very helpful with anything I asked for

Ted Marks

Not sure why this hotel has spiraled so fast, but it is not worth a stay I believe they are blaming a storm for the elevators not working AND no AC, but another regular guest (construction) said there has been no AC for weeks Pool closed

No actual breakfast Handle on the toilet is loose Water pressure in shower is low (even for a rain head)They are no longer associated with Choice Hotels Not sure if that was by Choice, but my points are useless I hear they are looking to sell and then maybe the new owner will join a chain Hopefully new owner will invest in the property,My son is finishing his second year at MU here, but I guess I will have to finish my stays down the road 5 minutes at a working a hotel in Cambridge Rates are cheaper there too

The rooms were clean and spacious, especially considering we got a standard queen room and not a bigger suite The front desk workers were incredibly helpful The scenery, especially the gazebo and pond in the center of the hotel area, were a very nice touch as well

The only complaints are that the road leading to it is a little confusing and the “complimentary” breakfast is actually $15 per guest, which is incredibly steep given the quality of the good Don’t get me wrong, the food was fine, but they aren’t serving high end items

Melissa Craft

The outside definitely needs some work but the rooms are recently remodeled and very cleanThis is a 2 story building and very very long It’s a haul from 1 side to the other

The court yard is beautiful, but again, needs some landscapingThe pool is small, but clean The breakfast buffet was very good I would stay here again

Jen Knox

I really appreciate this place My husband and I had to come here with our pups last minute due to electrical work on the house, and it was a comfortable and lovely place to stay Everyone was kind, and though the restaurant wasn’t open the day we were there, the bar menu was pretty good

My only small critique would be to offer one vegan option on the bar menu

We stayed here for my dad’s HS class reunion last weekend I will say that we did enjoy our stay overall The room was clean and breakfast was pretty good

We were also quite pleased with housekeeping replenishing our towels/other supplies on requestThe only downfall was the coffee at breakfast In my opinion, it was weak and really didn’t give me the boost that I expected from coffee But other than that, I would say this is the best “bang for your buck” if lodging in Zanesville; the other hotels in town from my observation are either too expensive or too “seedy” This hotel is safe and reasonably priced

mz twisted

The room smelled like stale cigarettes and mold Small little bugs were flying around everywhere AC unit did not work efficiently

Bed was hard as a rock Pillows smelled like must On top of all that some alarm outside the hotel started blaring around 3:15 AM If I could give zero stars, I would The only saving grace was the friendly staff

Nathan Richards

We had a reservation with this hotel for one night We had a last minute unexpected illness in one of our kids One of the families we were getting together with has a child with complex medical needs – feeding tube, VP shunt – and gets very I’ll when sick sometimes landing her in the hospital

We had to cancel this trip last minute (day of) because we couldn’t risk her getting sick Although I understood that it was the hotel’s policy to not provide a refund within 24 hours of the reservation, I called to see if they could work with us due to the extenuating circumstances I spoke to Nancy, the assistant manager, who said she has no flexibility regardless of the circumstances even with this type of situation I asked to speak to a manager but she said it would be the same answer I asked to just provide us a credit for future use and she declined this as well I was disappointed at her inability to understand our situation and lack of any flexibility on the issue Our family is out over $300 We will avoid using Best Western (especially the one in Zanesville, OH) in the future due to unwillingness to attend to customer needsIn response to the owner’s comments, I don’t think accommodating one family would require that every cancellation within 24 hours be refunded The owners should have the ability to make case by case determinations For example, in this case we could have provided medical documentation from a physician verifying the unique situation we were in that could have helped to explain why we had to cancel unexpectedly and last minute We were not cancelling just because we decided not to go on the trip We were forced to do it out of a need to reduce the risk of harming one of the kids with special needs I don’t think it is too much to ask a business owner to understand this and try to work with us

Our room was horrible The Shower/tub was clogged We had 5” of water up to our ankles while showering

It was 5 of us and we had to wash up in each other’s dirty water, because the tub wouldn’t drain Also the door was jammed and we couldn’t get out of our room without having my husband use his man Strength to open it It was not very clean Stains on the corners of our sheets Stains on the couch and dirty walls It felt like a cheap Motel 6 except rooms were $23400 a night instead of $45 bucks You might have a better stay at Holiday Inn Express The only nice thing was the breakfast

Meghan Payton

Upon arriving to the hotel it seem nice from the street but once entering you can tell it’s an old building The swimming pool was dirty The smell of chlorine was so strong we weren’t able to stay in there long

The tile around the pool is very slick as well Our bedroom wasn’t very clean either Hair still on the shower wall Dirty stained desk chair The bed was incredibly hard and seemed like it was going to fall apart at any minute! For paying $260 for one night, isn’t worth the money!

A H

We were a bit nervous about staying here because some reviews mentioned issues with cleanliness – thankfully, we had absolutely NOTHING to worry about! Excellent stay – very friendly and accommodating staff, went above and beyond by doing things like setting a pack and play in our room before arrival since we weren’t going to get in until after midnight with a one year old Delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, very clean room, felt comfortable with our baby crawling around on the floor The rooms are a bit dated but have had some updates (example, chips/scratches in tub, needs re-caulked, etc

, but had newer countertop and wallpaper) – but this was no big deal and we truly enjoyed our stay! Will definitely stay again!

A really good place to stay overnight! The rooms were clean and the beds were also conformable Had a good sleep The check in was quick and efficient allowing us to get to our room right away

The only thing that was ok was the breakfast, but it was satisfactory for a Holiday Express If you are looking to stop for an overnight stay, then this is a great place to do just that!

Emily V

I took a business trip here and found everything to be satisfactory The service was prompt and friendly, room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the gym and pool were both clean and had hours that allowed for a late evening or early morning workout Breakfast options were pretty standard for a Holiday Inn, but there is a Sheetz in the parking lot if you’re looking for more variety

If you are a business traveler looking for a no-fuss hotel close to the interstate, this is a great choice

Damian Galvan

One of the best hotels we have stayed in a long time But what puts it over the top was customer service Gaby was fast for the check in and just friendly over all

This hotel is clean and it smells clean! I felt comfortable here with my family and if I come through this town again I will be staying at this hotel thank you gaby for the great customer service!
