🐾 SMALL DOG FRIENDLY 🐾 Stayed with a group over the weekend for the annual Craft Lager Fest A shuttle bus ran on a loop to the nearby 22 Northmen Brewery The hotel is newer construction, clean and well maintained

Rooms and common areas feature thoughtful amenities Selfservice breakfast with the standard grab-and-go selections Friendly staff throughout — a special THANKS to the helpful woman at the front desk that retrieved my lost cell phone and held it for safekeeping The hotel is located in a convenient location with plenty of retail and “lake life” activities nearby Looking forward to returning again next year!

Overall the experience was very good The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because some of the fixtures were loose and it was very easy to hear noise through the walls/ceiling of other guests Also, I was given the handicap room without needing or requesting it

Everything worked fine, but it felt weird to be given that room when someone else may have needed it instead of me I’m sure they had others available in that event, but still, it felt like I could have been taking it from someone else Just my own personal feelingLastly, (and this is at no fault of the hotel) I stayed here for a wedding which ended shortly after 10pm, so I had hoped I could walk to a nearby bar or restaurant from the hotel to continue my evening Unfortunately, the bar next to the hotel, The Boulder Tab House, was closed at 10pm, and the only other place to even get food after 10pm on a Friday evening was Taco Bell I love Taco Bell, but I really would have preferred to find a place where I could get a drink and continue my evening

Recently displaced by the Memorial Day Forada Tornado, we have been staying here for nearly a month The staff is absolutely amazing, friendly, and kind Phil at the front desk will greet people by name

The hotel has been accommodating to our small Shorkie, as well as my late night use of their toaster We are neatnicks and clean freaks and this hotel has our approval We highly recommend staying here And if you come in the next month, we will probably see you because we can’t get into our long term rental until August We’re just racking up those reward points 😀 All the Best and Safe Travels

Very nice/cozy place to stay if you are there for fishing Or as a hub to go out to do & see all the places & things in the area Doesn’t have things to do there, like the expensive/fancy places

But it does have many cottages of different sizes Some in the process of being upgraded Also a dock with boat ramp And a simple inclosed fish cleaning station Is right on Lake Victoria And a short, straight drive into town for all your shopping needs I plan to go back there again next year 👍

Alexandar Walker

Owners are very accommodating and there is ample dock space as well Cabin are a bit dated but have that up north mom and pop feel for sure! Beds are not top of the line but a simple mattress enhancer of your choice from home mixed with the fresh air and long summer lake days make for a great night’s sleep Lake has good fishing and is usually not too crowded

We always catch something Not too far away from town to grab groceries and supplies too

Lake Victoria resort formally Lilac Lodge is beyond a amazingly awesome mom & pop old school style family resortThe owner, his family & there associates go way above & beyond to make your stay as extremely amazingly awesome as possible, once you stay here you will never stay anywhere elseThe fishing off of the one of the many docks will keep the fisherkids and fisher people busy for hours

The little kids will enjoy the swingset & beach area while the older kids/teens and “adult kids” will enjoy swimming and the water trampoline for hoursThen at the end of the night you can wind down and enjoy the great community firepitLake Victoria resort is the only way to escape your extremely stressful life & wind down, decompress, relax and enjoy some much needed rest & relaxation

This was my first time staying at the Hampton Inn in Alexandria, and everything was great Great location near restaurants, shopping, everything Staff was exceptionally nice, room was very clean, hotel was quiet, nice clean pool area

The only thing we didn’t try was the breakfast because we either wouldn’t get there in time or already had other plans, but I hear it’s great, so we’ll be sure to try it next time we’re in town! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and will definitely be back

I’ve stayed here a few times, and the rooms are clean, and well stocked, love the hot tub 😍 and my kids love the pool, hot breakfast is also a plusBut on a personal note, recently a friend of mine stayed there, and had some extremely maddening issues not only was the front desk staff unjustified in being Rude, but the owner was just the same, her Debit card was used by staff in reservations that she was unaware of, then called a liar, and no apology was made Being the inner person, she chalked it up to maybe they were having issues themselves and unintentionally put it on her, so she attempted to book for another night, and was informed that they will no longer be renting rooms to local residents, in my opinion that is prejudice, if that is the way he wants to run his business, local or not, he won’t be getting my money, unless he Apologizes and continues to rent to

A very nice stay, pet friendly (with a nice walking area behind the hotel for our dog), friendly reception, and an acceptable breakfastThe one negative was we were given a room with a noticeable smoke odor – on examination, the smoke seemed to be mostly within the chair (probably someone smoke there) – oh, yes, this is a non-smoking hotelUnfortunately, there were no rooms available to switch to (sold out), so we had to tolerate it for the night [not cool]

We opened all the windows, turned on as many fans as possible, and lived through itThe next day, they did move us to another room, and gave us a credit toward about half of the night’s staySo, given this is hopefully an exception, and only their fault in that it wasn’t caught by cleaning staff, we did enjoy the other three nights of our stay

Mark Peter

Black mold on floor and furniture, bugs everywhere, debris between furniture in Plain sight Apparently, someone had lived in the room for a year, left that same day and they just turned it over before we got there I Don’t think that would be an adequate amount of time to turn the room over

The front desk manager was very kind and accommodating She offered us another room, so I agreed to look first We went through the next room together and the bugs were all over this roomI highly recommend the Fairfield Marriott across the parking lot Its not much more but they will meet and exceed any standard of cleanliness, hospitality and what you’d expect from a hotel that is less than 4 years old Fairfield Marriott is a very nice hotel

Husband and I stayed at the Cedar Rose Inn and were impressed by Brenda the Inn Keeper Upon arrival we needed accommodations for a late check-in, which she graciously accepted As we arrived we were greeted with lemonade, sweet treats and a tour of the home and room

We stayed in the Alma Anderson room It was spacious with a closet, area for sitting and a spotless bathroom (with a clawfoot tub with whirl pool jets and complimentary bath soaks) The entire room was clean and to my surprise there was no odor (I expected for a historic location to have a little odor, but there was none which was a nice surprise)The breakfast took place at 9 AM and was plated Brenda made everything from scratch and it was impeccable (my husband is a former Chef and paid compliments himself) For breakfast we were served a vegetable quiche, sausage, yogurt parfait with granola, fresh vegetables, and an assortment of fresh homemade bread (banana, peach, and blueberry) served with cinnamon butter and a glass of orange juice, water and available tea and coffeeThe location of this bed and breakfast is strategic as you are just minutes away from walking downtown Alexandria, off Broadway We visited the Depot for a bite to eat (right on the lake) and visited some boutique and antique shops in the morning after our morning breakfastThank you so much for the great hospitality provided to us! Definitely would stay here again when visiting Alexandria!

Geoff Lizar

The rooms are cute and comfortable, and definitely give you the historic experience (in a good way) The beds are comfortable, the place is very clean, and the building has a storied history, which the host will be happy to tell you all about over a delicious, beautifully presented breakfast (and great coffee) I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area

Turning Waters Bed, Breakfast and Adventure LLC

Brenda is doing an amazing job running this beautiful Victorian home! The place is impeccably clean, breakfast was delicious and loved the history of the home The front porch is a great place to sit in the morning with coffee or do yoga or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening She is located downtown convenient to The Garden Bar on 6th for the most amazing dinner and close to breweries

Not far from Carlos Creek Winery, 22 Northmen Brewing and Stone pizza connected Simply the BEST place to stay when visiting Alexandria, MN

This place has a wonderful little water park that is perfect for kids of all ages They have decent food at the concession counter, and they even offer drinks for the adults if you are interested in that kind of thing The only reason why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that some of the staff were kind of rude, but on the whole, most of them were very helpful and professional

I would still recommend this place for anyone who has kids that would like them to have a great time at a water park

This “resort” is very outdated I had an event here and was embarrassed at the conditions of the hotel It is overpriced and old

Signs were also posted throughout the hotel about another event I was having but I did not invite all of the guests who were staying at the resort so it was very awkward I never asked for this to be done The host at the event was rude and started taking down the food and drinks well before our time was up Planning the event was even more of a nightmare We never heard from anyone for days I reached out on two occasions about my complaints and never heard back Highly not recommended

This place has many plus points, large swim/hot tub/rec area, bar and restaurant, fitness, comfy beds The areas that need work, is the place is in need of a face-lift, including rooms/halls/ actually everywhere Needs safes

Better lighting Our rooms weren’t cleaned, the front desk told us there was a card at check in thar says we need to request We had been out to a party and returned late, so than had to ask for towels The restaurant for very slow, food wasn’t the best Service was very poor
