The Shilo Inn of Idaho Falls may have been quite the place at one point, but it falls far from desirable in modern daysThe Shilo Inn is close to the highway, which is a good convenience factor However, that alone doesn’t raise the recommendation factor

Immediately upon entry you see signs for no smoking, but the entire hotel smells of yester-year smoking habits Some ceilings, particularly in the hallways are stained yellowThe room we had was not clean, and one could arguably say that the sheets weren’t even changed from the last visitor(s) to the room Hair was found on pillows and underneath the primary blankets Similarly, the shower/tub was only marginally clean Soap scum was visible, as well as various hair around the was and in the tub Additionally, the room definitely reeked of smoke On the bright side, the towels seemed cleanI will state that there was a bright and personable younger female working the desk She was nice to talk to and offered dining suggestionsAll on all, I won’t stay here again and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are desperate for an accommodation

Don’t forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any hotel This site will compare thousands of booking websites and normally will have rates much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the highest rated in this area

I’ve been staying here for a long time If you choose this place you for sure will love it I’m sure!Large rooms, really comfy bed with a beauty rest mattress, a bit dated, but clean with good water pressure in the shower I don¿t know if this was a fluke, but it was quiet also Also, the heat was easily controlled and not loud!

Heidi Napier

Nice place to stay We found it to be fairly inexpensive when we booked Hotel was dead though the night we stayed

Bar was dead too Only had two people and was playing music pretty loudly Room was clean and we didn’t hear anyone else through the night However I’m the morning the neighbors were a bit loud leaving and the maids were tremendously loud banging on our door It was 8am on a Saturday so that was a touch frustrating All in all a nice clean place to sleep, but not too much going on for a Friday night

Stayed overnight, and got in late I went to check in, the Guy at the desk was very nice I got the keys and went and got my kids and mom and our bags

When we got to our room, there was someone already established in that room Went back to the desk and the Front desk Guy had no idea someone was already in that room, was able to change our room The room itself (our 2nd) was ok, the AC wouldn’t shut off and I hate carpet in hotels Didn’t eat breakfast due to just wanting to be on the road ASAP, but looked like typical hotel breakfast Didn’t like the location due to having to go through town to get to it when you’re already tired and have cranky children

Josh

Room was great, checkin was easy, it was the check out that caused problems I am a diamond member and called the morning of the check out around 9am to request a late checkout, we’ll 12 was check out, she had said 12:30

I said ok thank you and went back to bed, around 12:05 a front desk lady comes up and starts aggressively telling me I need to get out now, it’s past my time, I’m slowing down her cleaners and I explained how I extended it Then she proceeds to call me a liar and that she had been there all morning or something and just made it all awkward and rude I didn’t argue with her and told her we are headed out right now, but her attitude was just not good business This has never happened and her tone in how she talks to guest should of been completely different And the fact she’s calling me a liar just is down right rude sad ending for what was a wonderful stay

I was very surprised! the check in process was unique and proficient The room was exceptionally clean and I loved that fact there was no carpeting on the new flooring so that the floor could be kept clean All was spotless, the layout was great

We got a room with a jacuzzi and loved the fact that we treated ourselves to that experience The water was wonderfully hot in the double large shower Breakfast options were a few steps away It was on e of the best values I have ever had for the money

Buggles Nort

Very clean and convenient from Highway 20 The check-in was quick and I already had the keys to my room in five minutes The air conditioner works pretty well and there’s a Burger King across the street

The room itself is spacious and spartan, but I’m not expecting the Ritz However, it seems to be better than the other Motel 6’s I’ve stayed at

PeggyS1322

I have stayed here numerous times over the last year The rooms are clean and taken care of My one complaint is how easily the sound comes through the door from the hallway

It’s 11 pm and I thought there were people in the hall talking It’s actually coming from the room across from me Loud enough It’s hard to sleep No management here at night so not much I can do

The hotel itself is good Good location Fairly clean (we did have a hair in our tub/shower)

The temperature control in the room was not good We didn’t sleep great because we would wake up sweating and then the air would kick on and it would be perfect for one minute and then freezing Almost comical Daughter said she couldn’t sleep – woke me up and everyone has their covers kicked off Then I woke up when the air kicked on and a few minutes later everyone trying to get covered back up because it’s cold Needless to say, we are tired

As a Titanium member working my way to Ambassador I stay at the Marriot Bonvoy hotels I’ve never wrote a review but fell the need to with my stay at the Fairfield in Idaho Falls, Idaho You know that saying, when it rains it pours? I was traveling and couldn’t find my wallet and it was check out time so I phoned the front desk who was nice and told her I’ll call her back

5 minutes later I get a call from the Operations Manager who shouldn’t be in that position She was yelling at me and told me 15 minutes to vacate the premise I tried to explain the situation and told her I don’t appreciate her tone with me and she said she was going to call the cops As I’m packing my belonging heading to the elevators there she is with the cops and they had nothing to say I looked at the cops and the look on their face was pure annoyance I’m sure they have better things to do Michelle O’Brien is the Operations Manager who should be fired for her behavior My next step is to report her to corporate because this is not acceptable and something needs to be done I ended booking at room at the Spring Hill Suites and the experience was EXCELLENT! Don’t bother with Fairfield if you want a good experience You know what they say, “Attitude reflects leadership”

April Lovelock

Interviewers were incredibly kind all throughout my interview and had an appreciated level of realness interwoven with professionalism11/10 even if I don’t get the job I absolutely enjoyed my interview experience here! Also they gave me hot chocolate Which is an incredibly good bonus!Thank you managers and front desk workers of Fairfield inn!

This place was so nice My husband and I stayed for three nights We visited Yellowstone Park and Grand Teton during our stay and the rides over there were beautiful and not too long

It was nice coming back to a peaceful place where you can hear birds singing, and watch the Aspen trees glistening in the sun I love how the owners have little areas where you can sit and relax Besides all of this, the beds were very comfortable High quality bedding and towels

Jamie B

We had a wonderful stay in our cabin at Aspen Grove Inn at Heise Bridge! The beds were comfortable, it was clean, and welcoming We loved having the mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven in the cabin! The grounds are well kept, and we loved the borrow barn with games, bikes, and books to use while you’re there We would definitely come back and stay longer!

Andrea “Andee” Ames

Such an incredible facility with such terrible maintenance and staff or workcampers I have never seen so many No Parking Signs on perfectly normal parking spots! They will double book and sell your reservations right out from under you They don’t seem to really do any bookkeeping and want to charge in full when you make a reservation and then again when you arrive

They sell reservations for their pavilions and BBQ area as combined then double book them and claim that you had to reserve them separately The owners are totally MIA and you just get cryptic texts from them with strange requests for people who you may or may not even know The staff turn the water on at 6am to water the landscape but then dissappear and never return to move the sprinklers or shut off the water so the area just becomes swampy and mushy At 10pm I finally just went and shut it off myself In the Big Lodge they’ve made some interesting choiceslike telling people to wedge towels around the floor where there should be baseboards and caulking to prevent water from the shower runoff from draining into the basement causing what the sign calls ‘severe water damage’ It’s a problem that could have been fixed in the same amount of time it took to create, print, framers, and hang the sign behind the towelsHonestly this is an incredible venue that has so much potential to be great without all the random text rules and instructions that only come through when cell service picks up They would really benefit from a real Short Term Rental guide inside the lodge that has clear and sensible guidelinesIt was also really wierd that there were sheets and bedding rolled up into giant piles and stuffed in a corner behind a chair And the place definitely hadn’t been wiped down when we arrived I just ran a few paper towels and some multipurpose cleaner over everything and it was incredibly grubby Not to mention the chaos of trying to find places for people to sleep when we realized the owners had double booked 40% of our reservationsonly after people drove 4-14 hours to get here It’s not like there is somewhere else nearby people can go if mistakes like that happenListen it is beautiful But they need to train their work campers or staff better or get new ones who LIKE the job of camp hosting They need a real bookkeeping system They need a real reservation system so they don’t double book And they need an on site maintenance repairman They also need quick-guides in each rental space that are kind and clear Not full of snark and nonsense Warning to all, the owners think parking in parking places and on gravel and asphalt is somehow dangerous for children Definitely do not park in front of the restroom or someone may come out screaming and yelling and waving a broom at you in sheer rageOther than thatit is incredible!

WOW I was *impressed* by this hotel My husband booked it for our wedding night and I didn’t have low expectations, but I definitely was not expecting the amount of detail and attention they give to their rooms and guests Upon walking through the doors, you’re greeted with a luxurious scene that makes you forget you’re in downtown Idaho Falls

The staff is friendly and helpful Then getting into the room, I felt like I had just stepped off a plane straight into a different country They thought of every detail they could to make these rooms feel like they came straight from a foreign country We stayed in Arabia because that and Alaska were the only available rooms We didn’t expect to be blown away by how beautiful it was The tub is huge and jetted with a rainfall shower that made me feel like an absolute Queen There’s a beautiful private sauna inside the room The bed was comfy and beautifully made to fit the theme of the room The complimentary cheesecake was the best I’d ever had and the breakfast exceeded expectations as well They even took the time to congratulate us on our marriage with a personalized note I told my husband this is what I want to do for birthdays from now on! So we’re heading back tonight to stay in Thailand and I’m so beyond excited to see what the room has to offer (and eat that cheesecake I’ve been craving since my wedding day 😅) Thank you, Destinations, for creating such an amazing experience in my hometown 💕

Victor Stewart

Over-the-top attention to details in these BEAUTIFUL themed rooms! Stayed in Egypt the first night, but Hawaii is SO NICE! Waterfall shower, huge jacuzzi jetted tub, I really could go on and on, but you simply MUST see for yourself when in Idaho Falls – there is NO OTHER place to be! On top of that, the management went above and beyond to settle a misunderstanding on the bill, comping us breakfast meals for every day we are here, luxurious robes (you gotta put one of the ridiculously soft things on!), a bath bomb, chocolates and a rose on our bed, seriously – the list goes on and on, I simply cannot say enough! We have stayed in many 4 and 5 star resorts/hotels, and this is right up there at the top – UNFORGETTABLE! Thank you to the owners and management!

Jeff Zellner

Don’t judge a book by its cover The rooms are incredibly detailed We walked up to the hotel not sure what we were getting into, but you quickly forget about that once you step into the gorgeous lobby

We stayed in the Venice themed room & was blown away by the detail The steam shower & jetted tub are incredible The only complaint I would have (but still give the room 5 stars) is the bed Other than that, worth the stay Can’t wait for our next destination!

We stayed at Motel West for two nights The room was clean and tidy and had shampoo, conditioner, and lotion in addition to clean towels, sheets, fridge and microwave The whole motel was clean

The location was close to all amenities and many attractions Most of all, the staff was very nice and helpful We had some issues with our booking However, Amber was nice and patient to help us over the phone several times as well as when we arrived at the motel until the issue was resolved We’d stay here when we are in town again

Rooms: you get what you pay for If your just looking for somewhere to lay your head and get a fresh shower this place is great The price is very fair and affordable

Its cleaner than what you expect Parking is perfect as wellService: Young lady at the front desk wasn’t rude but wasn’t very inviting never smiled once or made eye contact but she was very informative and helpful and explained everything we needed to know very well I get some people have bad days and some people just don’t like to smile but if you work in the hospitality industry you should be able to crack a smile or at the very least make eye contactLocation: Perfect! Right off the highway and surrounded by food and groceries 😋Our overall experience was perfect for what we needed We are very pleased and will for sure stay here again without hesitation

Hubby nailed it, after 10 days of hotels on our road trip this one wins for both quality and price Front desk was so friendly and the whole place smells like fresh baked cookies Room is clean and spacious with all the amenities, and the bed is a welcome surprise

Also the indoor pool and hot tub are open 24/7, yay late night relaxing tub with no kids!!!

This would’ve been a four-star rating, but check in was the main reason I had to dock it a star While I know you can check in on the mobile app, we wanted to check in and get a physical card at the front desk There was no one there

We tried making ourselves known by asking if anyone was in the back office I even called the hotel twice Both times, the phone loudly rang in the lobby yet no one came We waited about 20 minutes from 1pm to 1:20pm before we gave up and just checked in to the app to get our roomNow for the positive, the room was fairly clean and very spaciousTheir morning breakfast was a tier above the normal continental breakfast, with multiple flavors of waffles as well as very wide selection of toppings They also had your standard eggs, meat, French toast sticks, cereal, juices, and pastriesThe location is pretty nice, being close to the river and also being a pretty inexpensive hotel right near Yellowstone (about 50 miles away)

We arrived later than we hoped and settled into our suite with a pull out bed for a child When we pulled out the the bed, there was popcorn left on the mattress Eventually we were brought a vacuum So we could clean it ourselves

Storage in the rooms are designed smartly There is a full snack bar at the front desk (paid) Free bottled water is offered They have a pool table at the lobby Plenty of free parking

Logan at the front desk was incredibly helpful He was so busy and still took the time!Rooms were very clean,Bedding was cleanBathrooms were emasculateGreat soaps provided! Lots of fun activities and great location

Hanna Taylor

The place is nice, clean and has a fun atmosphere The rooms are nice but small, and not kid friendly I love the modern feel and how it is eco friendly

The “queen” mattress does not fit its frame, and the blanket is very thin, and small and the pillows are not comfortable Between my husband snoring and the ac unit being loud I didn’t get much sleep Oh and beware the walls here are thin I could hear my husband talking in our room once I got off the elevator, and our room was far away from the elevator

The hotel was clean and comfortable We loved the suite for a comfortable space for our family of 5 Gym and pool were both nice and well maintained

Great spot along the river within easy walking of many restaurantsMost of all, every interaction big or small we had with staff members of the hotel was excellent Helpful, extremely polite and friendly We were very impressed The only complaint I had about the hotel was the pillows were too soft, but when we asked for more, they offered a choice of 2 kinds and had them delivered to the room right away

K C

Super impressed! I am an employee of a certain hotel brand, which makes me super critical of things so listen up! This place is doing things right! Every employee I came into contact with provided absolutely incredible service We were also extremely impressed with the room that we were assigned and just completely shocked by the incredible size of the king studio as well as the views (The river is amazing thank you!) When looking around the property itself, you can tell they strive to take care of things

Everything in our room was extremely clean and well taken care of The fire pit outside is a great addition and the pool area was really nice Shout out to maintenance for keeping the hot tub in great shape – we enjoyed it! The breakfast is pretty generic and unfortunately not very good quality, but it seems Marriot controls this because it is pretty much the same across the board no matter where you stay So I cant blame the hotel They did have gluten free options marked and available which was nice for me and the coffee down stairs was perfect I have definitely found the only place I’ll be staying if I have to return to this area Great job Residence Inn!

Our family of 5 was on a western loop that included stops in SLC and Jackson Hole This hotel was our kids favorite by a long shot The rooms were clean and comfortable

We utilized the pool area and laundry services — both were very well maintained Hotel staff were extremely kind and courteous at every interaction The walking bridge to the Japanese Friendship Garden on the Snake River was an unexpected bonus A great stay Highly recommend!

We stayed one night on 15 May, 2022 Beautiful Hotel Amazing mural in the lobby

Clean Rooms Nice showers Smelled clean The staff was very friendly and helpful They went out of their way to set up a rollaway bed in our room My mother had just come from the ER after an injury, and the lady at the desk RAN to get us a wheelchair and let us use it for the next 12 hours They got us extra soap and things and were all very friendlyGreat experience, decent rate Definitely at the top of our list for Idaho Falls!

I had mixed opinions about my stay at La QuintaPros- Good Hospitality- Very Clean- Breakfast was decent- Bedding was comfortable- Plenty of hot waterCons- Fan was broken- Had to clean out jets of hot tub, was pretty nasty- Have to stand in shower to turn water on

very cold- THIN WALLS Could hear literally everythingOverall a decent stay, but not worth the $350 a night for a king bed and a hot tub Not the best Not the greatest Not worth my money

We thought this was a brand new hotel, but the clerk told us it had been there several years and had recently been renovated Our suite was comparable to our time shares with brand new furniture, luxurious towels, dishes and other items in the fully equipped kitchen, as well as a comfortable work desk with leather chair, corkboard, (and thumbtacks included!!) The bed was so comfortable 😌 too

We enjoyed complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and popcorn packets to pop in the room Last, but certainly not least, we walked the gorgeous sidewalks/trails all along the Snake River to a beautifully landscaped and relaxing Zen garden and quaint/bustling downtown with spectacular views 😀! We only had one night scheduled, but we definitely recommend and we will return from Nashville in the very near future

I stayed here on 4/11 We didn’t have a reservation so they didnt have much available We got a room with 2 queens and a kitchenette

It was 8pm so we didn’t use it It’s under construction so no breakfast or pool We were told we could go somewhere with a pass to swim of we wanted but we didn’t The room was nice and clean! Shout out to the receptionist Nothing wanted to work for him, but he was amazing So kind, and went above and beyond in helping us out! He was pretty busy back there, we slowed him down but he wouldn’t tell you that!

Over all Our room wasn’t very clean If you just looked around it looked clean

However if you looked closer the walls, light switches were dirtyWe were in a wheelchair accessible room and the shower just sprayed water right past the curtain and even though the floor might have a drain and was tiled, it isn’t any fun walking through water after you’ve dried offThe next item was that we had reserved the room for longer night and then called back for another night and they even sent me an email to confirm this only I didn’t read the email to verify that it had been done (I know stupid me) What in fact she sent me was 3 copies of the original dateHowever fortunately Teri was able to keep us in the same room on the morning that they had us leaving so started another day

What a great place to stay while visiting Idaho Falls and the surrounding area The hotel is in tip-top shape with all the amenities you would expect The staff was super friendly and accommodating

Rooms are on the large side yet cozy If you can get one with a view of the river, highly recommended You won’t regret paying a little bit extra Last but not least, the breakfast was amazingI usually stop at Idaho Falls on my way to Tetons or Yellowstone, so this hotel has become my new favorite hotel in the area!

****DO NOT STAY HERE*****Upon checking in and entering my room I observed bed bugs all over the ceiling of the room and spiders and cobwebs on the ceilings as well The hotel switched me rooms and I paid the difference of the room for the different room type I was then kicked out of that room because “the hotel did not know the entirety of my stay” and had overbooked

Even though I legally occupied that room and did not have to move I did them a service and agreed as long as they return the difference of prices between the two room and they agreed Now this being my THIRD room at the same hotel all within 72 hours I verbally told the front staff do not let anyone in my room and in addition to I kept the “Do Not Come In sign” posted on my door knob The room did not have a safe for my valuables so I did not want anyone in my room I come back from being with family and housekeeping had ignored the do not disturb sign and went in the room anyways The staff at the hotel are so ignorant, unkept and useless The mattress of in the room was covered in about 4 per stains , the AC unit was so loud you could barely sleepThis location needs new management from top to bottom

The room was expensive, but seemed ok sence it was one of the nicer hotels in the area The issue is they switched breakfast to costing money I spent $50 to get breakfast for my family

I feel like I was tricked when I came down to eat with my wife and kids They should have made that clear when I got the room It was like a bait and switch I have had problems with Hilton hotels in the past and usually try to stay at Marriott, so I guess its probably my own fault
