My husband and I decided to stay here last minute and had a room on the first floor overlooking the Valley The views were exceptional HOWEVER- DO NOT waste your money at the restaurant

When we walked in, there was a gentleman sending his dinner back I had a feeling then that the quality was going to be questionable… My husband and I shared the chicken tenders basket It was $25 I took one bite and spit it into my napkin I think McDonald’s chicken nuggets are probably better quality “meat” than these were The food had no flavor, was likely microwaved and fried, and was incredibly overpriced I definitely recommend packing your own food, or swinging by the grocery store at Golding’sFood aside, my husband and I loved having the balcony right at the valley I’ve never stayed somewhere with that epic of a viewThe beds were comfortable, towels were large (something I wish more hotels would do), and rooms were cleanThe only other thing I would hope to remedy would be the moth ball smell as soon as you walk in the front doorIf we come back, we’ll definitely stay at the view again!

We stayed here because it is the only place to stay right in Monument Valley, and it was a first class experience Very well run hotel – all rooms have the same tremendous view of the Valley The restaurant has great food and makes tribute to the Film Director JOHN FORD for his contributions to the Navajo Nation during the Great Depression

We had a great tour given personally to us by a 70 year old Navajo man who was filled with stories of the geology of Monument Valley and much more A truly awesome experience, one that every American should experience! Bravo! We will never forget our time!

Starry Yuan

This room was better than we expected, given there wasn’t many choices near the monument valley area The room is clean and staff is friendly The provided free bottles of water with coupon in the trading post

The best part is the view, especially at night You can see lots of stars because this place is far away from lights You can take pictures of starry night even just with the phone It was so beautiful to see that many starsThe downside is: 1) The free breakfast was just so so It doesn’t have any meats, and mostly are bread 2) You have to pay the entrance fee ($8 per person) to enter the monument valley even if you just choose to stay in the hotel without touring the monument valley

My husband and I stayed here for a 3 year wedding Anniversary trip When we arrived we had been upgraded to the Presidential Suite It was a beautiful room

We had the best time at the pool with drink service Our room was always spot less when we arrived back after it was cleaned The location is perfect for walking down to Old Town, Fashion Square & Night Clubs The aesthetics of this place are SO PERFECT!!

Enrico Dolcecore

This is a 2-3 start hotel at best The price is WAY TOO much for what you get Rooms are dated, and minimal

You really don’t get anything above and beyond for staying here Choose another hotel across the street for half price and you’ll be happier We stayed her 7 years ago, and it was awesome Pools were fun to hang at, but the price was right We felt like we got what we paid for For $500 a night I can stay at a Ritz Carlton

Alex Anzhela

Place is nice Too much party life in this town in general though If you’re traveling with kids, probably good idea to find a more kid friendly hotel/place/atmosphere

Otherwise the resort is very pretty Also the heater/AC unit in the room emitted too much dust so we ended up not turning it on anymore They do have a complimentary shuttle service which we loved

I would love to give more than 5 stars This was my first time in Arizona, my trip isn’t over yet however I cannot begin to describe the absolute beauty, peaceful, serenity of the entire resort Besides it being absolute paradise, my favorite part is the amazing staff, from staff at the pool, the restaurant, spa, boutique, housekeeping, room service

Each and every single employee that works here makes each day better, they’re so friendly and nice and extremely knowledgeable about the best places around the resort but honestly once you’re here, you won’t want to leave I travel a lot and have stayed at so many places but no place have I been where the staff is as kind, sweet, and personable The service is beyond impeccable I need to add more photos but it’s hard to take your eyes away from the natural beauty that is all around The calamari I got last night from room service is honestly the best calamari I have ever had The rooms are enormous, the beds are so comfortable, I really can’t say just how perfect it is here Also, anytime you call for anything from water, to ice, to anything, they’re at you’re room before you even know it I absolutely love Sanctuary Camelback, if you’re looking for a place to stay, stop now Book here, you’ll be so happy you did

Richard Herod

Our wedding at the sanctuary was absolutely amazing There was nothing that could have been done better The entire team including Robin and Jessica were top notch

The grounds are amazing, and our guests keep telling us that we had the best wedding they’ve ever attended The location is prime for perfect picture taking – and the food was wonderful – and the staff was superbSpeaking of a thoughtful detail – we had a “personal” attendant from the moment we said “i do” until the end of the wedding Once we said our i’-dos we were greeted with champagne and congratulated as a happy couple Then we disappeared for a half hour for photos on the mountain before returning to our party Once we arrived back – there were drinks for just us – and a personal plate of our appetizers for us to enjoy before meeting our guests for happy hour Most married couples – don’t get time to eat or take care of themselves because everyone wants their attention We were just SPOILED by great serviceI also thought the presentation of their offer for the wedding ceremony was very upfront I think we had better confidence in what we were getting versus other wedding venuesThe rooms were amazingThank you Sanctuary for a wonderful wedding – we will likely return often to celebrate special occasions keeping the memory of our special day aliveWith great thanksRichard and Charles

The lady at the front was pleasant when we checked it Let us know times of pool/slide, restaurant and Cafe openOur room carpet had 3 large stains on the floor, with a tough and sticky texture

We have a baby who crawls all around so this was quite a turn off to start out withWhen turning on the light in the bathroom, fridge and AC unit there was a buzzing noise A constant buzzing sound the entire time The bathtub plug that was in the tub did not seal the bath I had to use a plastic cup and some cardboard to get the tub to stay because the plug didn’t work I have two small kids who need take baths One light was burnt out (or dirty so it didn’t work) in the bathroom There were huge chunks of dirt hanging from the vent, looks like it had never been cleanedWe choose this hotel for the slide, come to find out it was only open Saturday/Sunday 10-4 That was fine, we decided to hit up the slide both days Saturday was great, the lifeguard was really nice and helpful But on Sunday the lifeguard left at like 1:30 and never returned So we didn’t even get to enjoy the slide on SundaySame went for the breakfast Coyote Cafe The hours said 6-12 but it closed when we went just before 11I am honestly so disappointed and dissatisfied with my stayI could have gone somewhere for half the price with the condition that this hotel was in The slide is not worth staying here! It’s so gross and dirtyAnd have reached out to customer service and they just forwarded me to the front desk manager, Jasmine who had failed to respond to several emailsVery disappointing

This review will be in two parts One on the hotel and the neighborhoodThe hotel itself is older

From what a local told me it is one of the oldest businesses there It is clean and somewhat updated The room we booked had 2 queen beds and is pretty large The bathroom is old except for the shower tiles We had a street main entrance room which is a nice view The staff is helpful and friendlyWe had a late dinner I had a cowboy burger and my daughter had a pulled pork sandwich Both were okay, and hit the spot when one had not eaten for almost 12 hoursCons is the noise from the highway, other rooms and hallway Location is in an unsafe area Pretty much every local told me not to walk outside of the hotel once it gets dark Even crossing the street in the day was not advised due to the construction on one side of the block then the group of homeless people on the other

Lawrence Talahongva

Decent rooms, some minor damage seen throughout the room and hotel Gym is nice but occasionally the doors won’t open very well especially the rear exit only door sticks to concrete that has raised and prevents from opening more than 6 inches Restaurant is pretty good, service is exceptional

It looks great outside and nice lobby with 3 pools and water slide, tennis courts and racquetball court in gym area It’s nice and may consider a return visit

This is an amazingly beautiful place with so many opportunities to take beautiful pictures When you first walk up to the front desk to check in, you have so many different opportunities to take great shots The front desk people were so nice and helpful

The room itself was amazing and cozy All the amenities were great and the room we stayed in had a beautiful patio and right I’m front of the slide area that is right next to the poolnwhicjade it perfect for my kids The water was a little warm but expected for the HOT Arizona weather! Next time we stay we are definitely eating there! The only thing I was a little disappointed in was my 5 yr old grandson as for a cup of water from a man that was cleaning up the bar area(bartender maybe) and he told him no I was a little thrown off by that but other than that our stay was amazing The pool area is awesome and the poolside food was awesome and very tasty!

Just got here yesterday and I don’t think I want to leave Ever 😊 the hotel looks like a private mansion It’s sits up high and the views are amazing

Our room is in the newest building and it’s private, clean, spacious and has a gorgeous glass shower with really good products provided I feel like I am in tropical paradise with the waterfall outside room and the greenery I sat out there this morning enjoying the quiet and the birds I highly recommend this hotel!!

AT Burgess

I’ve stayed here a few times before over the years, but this time wasn’t the most pleasant experience Seems as though the service and up keep of the resort had been taken down a few notches Our room wasn’t cleaned very well

Champagne wrapper and cork was still on the floor and hair was on the bathroom floor The toilet was running when we got in the room The pool experience Food wrappers, empty cups and cans everywhere There should be trash check more often We went to the bar and worker Dan who had a dirty shirt on with his name tag on UPSIDE DOWN told us he was out of large ups cups to make our drinks, but offered to make us drinks with smaller cups Worker Dan then saw a cup of water and asked if he poured the water out of this cup, he could make one of us a drink We declined and ordered beer and two patron tequila shots instead We paid for the drinks and found a spot to sit down We tasted the Patron tequila shots and could tell the Patron was deluded with water YUCK! Worker Dan needs to clean up his appearance and service attitude or get demoted where he is not in front of people serving them There are two sides of the pool area, not when you walk through the water under the bridge to get to the other side, it smells like sewer There was a 2-3 year old kid running around and swimming naked If the pool workers made more rounds they would have noticed that and said something to the parents We also saw someone snorting something in their car before leaving for dinner The parking lot is scary at night

I’d skip this oneThe only great thing about this place is the valet service that went out of their way to help us as it was pouring down rain during monsoon when we arrived They continued to be the bright spot of the entire stay here

The staff is fine but not friendly Every time we asked where something was on the property we got vague directions and couldn’t find it We weren’t offered a bottle of water or anything that we typically get when we stay with HiltonThe rooms are super clean but old There is a great vanity set up for getting ready but no outlets I’m not sure if the rooms have A/C or swamp coolers but the rooms were hot and muggy- again it’s monsoon season right now, but an A/C doesn’t typically cause that during this time of yearWhen we reserved the room the price said $180 a night with taxes and resort fees but we were charged $211It just overall is a tired and disappointing experience We have stayed at many Hilton’s for much less money and had a better experience I’d skip this one and book elsewhere in Scottsdale

Kenneth Belisle

My daughter and I stayed at the resort for a long weekend over the 4th of July The resort itself is so pretty, and we really enjoyed walking around the property and seeing the cacti, palm trees, and flowers I loved the bar at the pool-they had great drinks for adults and ice cream for kids

Our favorite meal was breakfast, and they also had great food for lunch and dinner as well The pool area was so nice, and the water was warm, and we spent many hours lounging and swimming! I definitely recommend this resort! We can’t wait to go back

Nicole Fraser

We were excellently treated by every member of the staff who were friendly and engaging The restaurant was great with a nice variety on the menu and well prepared dishes The rooms were clean and, with the sole exception of the air conditioning units, quiet

The lake made for a lovely contrast to the desert dry with birds and greenery Absolutely recommend

I love the crab cakes, Compressed Salad, and their Tacosto be honest, I have enjoyed everything I’ve tried The atmosphere makes this restaurant a special occasion place, but everyday dining always works for me too

paul mueller

Was monsoon season and the room leaked water, we are condo owners and they put us in one of the farthest buildings from the pool probably because its a golf resort and we don’t golf, but closer to the pool would’ve been nice since we went to the pool 5 out of the 7 days we were there Also 1st place we go in has Packers shrine, I hate the Packers

By the looks and location a little concern but let me tell you this place is amazing I have stayed there multiple times and have always received excellent customer service That is one thing you cannot say very often

The rooms inside are super clean even though outside gives a different vibe they are beautiful inside They offer so many different amenities They have complimentary beverages and snacks They treat you like a real guest Me and my husband were here when we want to relax and let her hair down Big thanks to all those there that I’ve always made our stay great

AngelsFan70

Overall not the best place but also not the worst The shower faucet broke off while I was trying to take a shower Just decided to clean myself with the water running with no shower

Room had a little bit of an old musty smell Towel in the bathroom was really rough and had a weird brown stain on it AC took a while to get the room cool, but it did do the job overall The style of the place is really upbeat and cool Lots of cool artwork and color around The rooms were really quiet and the bed and pillows were really soft and comfy

Ed Dressel

Definitely NOT a four-star as advertised The room was dark with one small window, the faucet in the bathroom leaked and was difficult to use When we went to eat outside the heater next to our table was broken and unusable

Yes, we did have a cannabis-free room, however, this did not mean we could not smell it during our stay–pleasant perhaps for some, just not for us On the bright side, the staff was very friendly and helpful, eager to oblige Also, the food at the restaurant was good and the ambiance lovely

Simone Collins

Very comfortable resort with a truly fantastic restaurant Loads of spots to sit and relax with friends Super friendly and accommodating staff

Comfortable rooms that feel kind of like cabins at camp, but desert chic edition Fantastic, well-designed showers The only thing that could be better is the gym Why design a gym in the desert to be open air?!?

Kelley Inman

Great location, walking distance to restaurants and a short drive to old town, shopping or Talking Stick Get the prickly pear lemonade at check in 😉 it’s delicious and they’ll add a little vodka if you’d like The main pool is a fun

Arriving at the hotel we were greeted by staff and went ahead using the driveway at the main entrance Luckily the luggage roller was available and we got into our room without a hitchAfter settling in the room, we had to appreciate our surroundings, the room was very clean

The layout was great, we had an amazing bed and the bathroom set up worked well for my family and I Had all the usuals available at home, TVs, microwave, fridge and a nice living room to relax inLet me tell you, the amenities at this hotel are fantastic as well, 24 hour gym, golf, pool set up was excellent as well as a lobby where you could relax and get some work done Or you could grab a drink and a bite to eat with your family It’s going to sound like an odd observation but, the hotel has this smell and feel throughout that just makes you feel at ease It was quite a welcoming feeling as we were staying due to an emergency with air going out With the animals and little one it was not going to work staying there So thank you to the hotel staff for making our time there a great experience, I would wholeheartedly encourage others to stay here, regardless of the reason The last thing I would mention is a big shout out to Cameron, he is an excellent addition to their staff and made sure to take care of us

Danielle Morgan

I loved this location – it’s about 25-30 minutes to downtown Scottsdale for dinner or anything but it is close to loads of excellent hiking and has access and trails from the resort to hike the famous Pinnacle Peak It’s a quiet feel away from the city but with a few restaurants and other spaces about 10-15 minutes away so you can leave for a dinner nearby without having to drive into the city and find parking if you’d like pretty easilyWe also did a few other hikes while here including Tom’s Thumb at McDowell Regional Park which was gorgeous at sunset and only about 10-15 minutes drive from the hotelBreakfast was included in our package (girl’s hiking trip weekend) and we loved it – we sat outside by the pool and enjoyed the healthy menu and soy lattes to get our day startedStaff were wonderful and our room was gorgeous and comfy with a large bathroom and welcome amenities and a note from management We did have a small issue with the toilet while staying which was promptly dealt with within a few minutes of complaintOverall, would happily stay here again, my friend and I had a great time here for a few days

Beautiful experience! I am so in love with the desert and this resort is just what I wanted I really wanted something that felt remote and was quiet and offered a desert vibe, which it does The grounds are beautiful, and the rooms were so comfortable

The staff are phenomenal and unbelievably kind and helpful I was happy to see how diverse the staff were as I absolutely appreciate inclusion in the corporate world Would absolutely recommend

If there’s a heaven, I’m pretty sure they’d hire the Four Seasons Scottsdale to manage it Absolute perfection Serene and quiet with only the sounds of desert birds to be heard

The landscaping is a wonder of desert beauty Great gym and pool The concierge booked us a couple of awesome adventures (REI Mountain Bike tour and Stellar ATV tour) Bed and pillows were delightful You’ll be stunned every time you walk the grounds at the views Fantastic pool and hot tub And brilliant star filled skies at night But it couldn’t qualify for perfection if not for the gracious, hard working, professional, and customer obsessed staff They are an incredible team of people rushing to meet your every request Thank you Four Seasons Scottsdale!!

I stayed there with my partner in late February Had I physically visited the resort before we booked the dates, I would have definitely cancelled We are both used to 5 star hotels—this is not one of them

It is also not a 4-star resort We had a week stay planned, but cancelled after two days The service was deplorable The suite we stayed in was overpriced, rundown, (yes, run down even though the resort isn’t that old) Nothing worked well The washer/dryer, the automated shades, and the kitchen wasn’t stocked The management appeared snobby and self-serving, not what anyone would expect from a resort of this caliber Not sure who manages this property, but they are in dire need of help After the first two days, we checked out a neighbor hotel, and booked our stay What a relief to transfer to a resort that met our needs (which aren’t much) All we require is a clean room, easy access to their restaurant, pool, workout, workable appliances, and hotel managers, workers, etc, that understand what ‘customer service’ actually means If you’re thinking of booking a room here, check out nearby hotels first before you book This is certainly not what it is advertised to be

My Wife and I never been to AZ before and after staying with Mountain Shadows we will be back for sure! We loved our experience here The staff was so helpful and happy to help us out They gave us great recommendations for food and things to do around the area

The room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing The two pools where perfect for relaxing We will be back to this hotel!

We stayed at Mountain Shadow for 2 nights this past weekend We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the lobby, our room and the grounds The staff were very accommodating and friendly

I loved the infused water dispensers in the lobby and the free coffee at Rusty’s We had a pool cabana room which I would highly recommend It was easy access to the pool and we could use our bathroom instead of the public restroom outside I was skeptical about the shower set up in the rooms I was afraid it would make the entire room hot/steamy but it didn’t at all! The shower was very spacious and there was a vanity with a stool separate from the sink We had room service for breakfast on our last day and it was delicious! Highly recommend the fruit plate and breakfast quesadilla We would definitely stay here again!

First – rooms are spacious, very clean and bed was comfortable Now to what really made my stay a five starI was very impressed by how welcoming the staff were

I stayed for4 nights; every single time I passed a Marriott employee in the hall, by the pool or anywhere on the grounds they were the first to say a cheerful helloThe welcoming feel of a hotel always begins with those who greet you first Charles and Paul at the bell stand were extremely professional, and were so very helpful They started my stay on a very positive note and ended it the same way I was very impressed with both of them Caleb, at the front desk helped me with numerous things during my stay, always with a smile These three staff made me feel like I was in my home and truly part of the family Thank you Charles, Paul and Caleb

Our stay at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountain was truly amazing The grounds are beautiful and kept clean The big sparkling pool is absolutely breathtaking, with lots of chairs and shaded areas, some round beds, covered cabanas first come first serve, no extra charge

Lots of colorful towels always stocked The fitness center was big, clean, and all the machines and weight machines were in working order The restaurant food was really nice for breakfast and lunch – we did not try the dinner, but the bar scene looked lively as we came and went in the evening Our room was clean and overlooked the pool, which was a nice bonus We had a small incident while there – something in our room fell off the wall and almost hit our 2 year old Nobody’s fault – these things happen sometimes We didn’t make a fuss but we let the front desk know, and they comped our breakfast and parking for the inconvenience, which was really unexpected and kind of them Best of all, every single person we came into contact with who worked there was beyond courteous They really made us feel happy, relaxed, and welcome We will definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for a week for a vacation, entire staff was very friendly, professional and courteous, and truly made a difference during our stay Zain at front desk was great, All of the valet folks were super friendly, and the kitchen staff did greatFinally, I work in housekeeping at a Marriott back home, and was super impressed with how clean everything was

Housekeeping did a wonderful job We took our DND sign off the door briefly one day, and came back to everything being refreshed and cleaned with care From one Marriott employee to others, you should be proud of your property and the work you do Thank you so much!

The McCormick Scottsdale was recommended by our family living in Scottsdale The hotel has quite a lot of amenities, which we weren’t able to enjoy However, we really enjoyed using the amenities that we were interested in using, during our stay

We had a very busy schedule that our family members had planned for us that we were gone for most of our eight days stay at the hotelThey have a very friendly, and great supporting staff, that lets you know that you are welcome and they show their appreciation by letting you know that they are glad that you are staying there We would like very much to compliment, and thank, the housekeeping staff that were assigned to our room The young ladies that my wife and I met while leaving for the day to be with our family, were so friendly and accommodating whenever we requested their services to tidy up our room and to exchange our bath linens We will definitely return to stay there when we visit with our family again

Gustavo Vegas

The hotel is well located and has many amenities Has a decent restaurant in the grounds, with tasty foodThe staff were helpful and greeted us with a smile

Now, the hotel needs a makeover, it is very dated Our room has a musky smell, and one of the beds squeaked as one sat on itOverall, I would come back in the future, but a renovation would make it more attractive than other hotels/ resorts in the area

Penny Liddell

My husband and I stayed at the property for to celebrate my 10 year wedding anniversary The check-in staff was very professional, very polite, and helpful The room was clean and comfortable as we received an upgrade to a king suite from a double queen room

We did not use any of the other amenities available to us such as the pool, restaurant or spa area I was impressed that the pool is available to guests until 10PM My only complaint is the resort fee charged at check-out even though I prepaid for it in the app I reserved the room under It was eventually taken off by a manager, but I should not have been charged in the first placeThey could also use another elevator on the other side of the hallway, as we had to walk down some pretty long halls to get to our room Otherwise, a great experience and I would certainly recommend to family and friends

Clean room and hotel, breakfast included, friendly and efficient staff, comfortable bed, mini refrigerator and coffee in room Easy access to and from Highway 17 We needed quiet for work and rest while on a long drive trip

They accommodated us with a top floor room Staff advised us the breakfast oven was broken which meant no usual eggs, potatoes or bacon/sausage available at breakfast on our stay

Laura Thurman

Great hotel! It’s a little further from Phoenix than I had wished but overall great service, staff and hotel Complimentary breakfast, plus outlets across the street and many restaurants in the area, mostly fast foods though Wish the hotel had a sit down restaurant for dinner or that there was most sit down restaurants in the area

But overall we enjoyed our stay
