Hotel is definitely dated, in need of upgrades for sure We had a few issues with our room (A/C went out, condensate line plugged and got the carpet soaked) however they relocated us to another room Staff was phenomenal with the exception of a front desk employee (a male) who got an attitude and acted like he wanted to go outside and fight

Want to thank Nathan for fixing everything!! He is good as gold

Ben Cerveny

Everything was very average or below in the rooms No fridge, just a “cooling box”, the toilet was put in crooked so the door would close in the tiniest of bathrooms and the whole place is from the 70s They are updating this year which is very needed

Also, the pool was closed even though the website says they have one The only savior is the bed was fairly comfy

Jack Oxley

The stay at the hotel was nice and quiet The food was very good as well as the service However, I pre-paid for a room through a third party company on 7/27 and 7/28 and then received an email from the hotel with charges for 7/28 for the room

I have been attempting to contact the accounting department to correct it several times leaving messages with no return or email correcting the additional charges This is bad customer service and wouldn’t recommend the hotel unless this has been corrected

We celebrated our anniversary yesterday and stayed here We were surprised by the hotel with champagne and chocolate strawberries in our room, nice touch 😉 It was a lovely experience overall

Though we could imagine how beautiful the scenery is in the summerwe will definitely be back! The property is huge, pool is big enough to swim laps, there’s a hot tub too Gym is also very big There’s a cute restaurant that over looks the lakewe didn’t get to try it because we arrived after 3pm and it’s only open for breakfast and lunch but you can still get dinner later in the bar/lounge Clean, beautiful, relaxing property and staff was very nice as well

Jo L

One of the most romantic hotels I’ve ever stayed at Rooms were clean, and a big plus is that they have windows that actually open and you can get some fresh air in the room The front desk was professional and attentive

The design of the building and the location give you that unique lodge feel, like you’re somewhere in the mountains of Austria Great stay, and will stay here whenever I’m in the area They are dog friendly and the prices are more than fair $25 daily pet fee and 60lbs weight limit

Marian Jones

Love love love the location The scenery was beautiful The rooms could have been cleaned

There was dust every where My niece room had a spider web in the corner of the room with a spider So that room hadn’t been cleaned in awhile The bathroom sink had mold or something around the faucet So i did cleaning myself Because staff said the rooms don’t get cleaned until the 3rd day

Lucy, from the front desk is fabulous I cannot say enough about her kindness, her attention to detail and her genuine concern for creating a pleasant experience for guests She truly went above and beyond to ensure that I was taken care of after a canceled flight and a long day of travel

I spend about half the year in hotels and Lucy truly stood out by providing next level customer service Thank you!

Pretty nice place to stay, clean rooms, friendly staff, showers with water pressure, comfortable beds, I really have no complaints about this placeSome reviews have mentioned problems with sounds from the trainyard but they didn’t bother me at all in my room It was also really nice going walks on the sidewalk paths as opposed to the usual hotel experience of pure parking lot and nothing else

Bellhops were very helpful and attentive, service desk was very accommodating and answered all questions about the facility Very nice pool, hot tub and sauna adjacent to the rooftop lounge Gym is extra, reservation needed for pool

Be aware people do not keep an eye on their kids and get ready for a lot of activity at the pool during summer, even an hour before closing, same as anywhere else Wish the beds were queens as listed and not doubles, though they were deceptively comfortable, and pillows were a bit squishy for my preference It was nice to have a 2 bathroom choice with one being a lower tub and 1 a walk-in shower If you want a nice view, make sure you check the map and not the list It is a fair walk from the hotel parking garage to the registration desk, so I suggest a drop off and bellhop prior to parking as valet service is not yet available again Also, did not see many people wearing masks as neither Chicago nor Illinois has returned to mandates, it’s per the business As always, I recommend people have courtesy toward other patrons as not everyone is there for the getaway you may be there for Overall, would stay again

yarrell williams

Where do I start The rooms are small and quality is equivalent to a best western I will say the bed is comfort

The ac feels more like a swamp cool The room is clean The parking is sketchy There was broken glass in the parking garage as if some broke into a car or it was stolen The parking garage is not particularly safe if you are a woman traveling alone no cameras and extremely overpriced but I guess that what you pay for being in the city For $300+ a night there should be room service You are in the heart of the city so that is a plus if you are a tourist The elevator are old and rickety and need renovation like the rooms do The lobby gives you the feel of a 4-5 star hotel especially for this price but you are extremely underwhelmed when you get to your room Won’t be staying here ever again

Andrea Keys

My husband and I had a problem with the Hilton Magnificent Mild in Chicago We left there and went to the Hilton Chicago and we walked into heaven; so beautiful, bright, clean and elegant; The service was excellent Extrodinary customer service

We so enjoyed our stay; the view of the room was wow to die for! So beautiful over looking the lake Places to shop, eat, relax, explore all inside the hotel We even had a non-adjacent room which gave us mad privacy The room prices were very reasonable My only regret is that we didn’t get the chance to book a Suite “Next time for sure!” Ask for Latashashe will take good care of you

I had an excellent experience with Joshua I checked in late at night in the early hours of the morning due to travel He was able to help me quickly workaround an issue with the 3rd party online reservation company I used, and put me in a beautiful room

The room was gorgeous He also recommended a nearby restaurant that delivered late, after I had been at the airport all day Both the service and the rooms are A+ The hotel is also nestled in a beautiful surrounding community It’s a First Class and White Glove experience at the Drake

Best check in experience Jamal was fantastic and made my check in process extremely easy He gave great food recommendations, including the on-site restaurant

The ladies in the morning were great as well, and the sales manager even took a moment to compliment my shoes Everybody was dressed nice, they smiled and greeted you, and I just can’t praise everyone enough My visit was to bury my grandfather, so to have such great customer service during this time made my stay even better

roeshell robinson

We arrived late on Friday night and Jessie was working the front desk and he did a great job of getting us checked in without any issues He recognized me as a Hilton Honors guest and he immediately told me about the hotel restaurant, bar and other features This hotel had plenty of free parking and it is great shape

The food in the restaurant was reasonably priced with a great selection There is a nice fitness center and indoor pool Our room had a fridge which came in handy the beds and pillows were comfy and there was plenty of space in our room The ice machine is on all of the even floors We were on the 1st floor so we had to walk up to the 2nd floor to get our ice The room does not have a microwave but there is a microwave downstairs in the snack area that we used to warm up our food when needed This hotel has everything you need There’s also a nice breakfast spot too in this hotel for your bagels, fruits, juices, coffees, and other items This hotel was better than I expected and the service was great!

I had my first Women Conference here at the Hilton Oaklawn / Chicago location and no matter the problem the management worked it out! The catering staff was super excellent and Sue was the Catering manager for our event! Beautiful spirited individual! Because it was geared to women they tried hard to give us a great female staff presence and we truly appreciated it so much! Tom and Greg were the best Hilton Hotel mangers you could ask for! Greg even started cleaning & inspecting rooms to assist in getting our ladies in their rooms in a timely fashion! We fell in love with him! Our Catering agent Anne did her absolute best to prepare the mangers and give us what we needed when we booked the location! The conference food was delicious and beautifully prepared! Javier the custodial engineer went above and beyond! I definitely recommend this location if it’s your first time so that you have a supportive hotel staff who cares!

I expected more I guess The rooms were okay beds were comfy but they said my room came with breakfast and they later told me I couldn’t get it Double trees usually give their guest free cookies but everytime we asked they were out (kinda a reason we picked it)

I’ve stayed at other double trees in the past and had a lot of better experiences Plus the hotel stunk!

Becky Hull

I booked my stay through the park/sleep/fly website because that was the most convenient for my elderly parents and me to find parking for our car during our trip We needed to leave our car for just under two weeks and we stayed overnight the night before our flight We were so tired upon arrival to the hotel, we decided to just stay at the hotel and have dinner there, which was surprisingly good and was served by a good-natured, kind man

(We loved the warm cookies upon arrival too!)Then upon our return, we experienced some difficulty in getting back to Chicago and had to have our flights changed I was concerned because I had given the front desk my return flight info but now everything was different and we would be coming in late at night, on a different day Thankfully, Melissa, who answered the phone when I called several times to try to keep her updated with the changes, was really friendly and helpfulJohn was our driver to and from the airport and he was extremely professional and helpful When John dropped us off at Midway at the beginning of our trip, he was right on time, he handled all our heavy luggage, and he helped my elderly parents in and out of the van We definitely appreciated his kindness! I also appreciated how clear he was when dropping us off regarding where he would pick us up when we returned I can see how many travelers could get confused regarding pick-up but John had explained very well to us where we should meet him when we returned (This saved a ton of time and frustration)Upon arrival to the hotel parking lot, John drove right over to our car and was extremely helpful again with all of our luggage I would like to recommend these employees for some sort of recognition as well as a raise Had Melissa not been so helpful or responsive on the phone, John would not have had any idea about our changed plansI’m incredibly thankful for this good experience and I will recommend your hotel/shuttle service to any/all of my friends needing to fly in or out of Midway Thank you so much

Domminique Kinnie

I stayed here pre-COVID for a family reunion It was great Stayed here this weekend and checked out after 1 day

My room had a weird smell There was a half bottle of water that I’m guessing the previous guest drank out of It was left on the table with the other bottle of water and still had the $200 Hilton tag on it like nothing was wrong There were brown spots in my bathroom sink Maybe makeup? Not sure Hair in my tub that wasn’t mine There is a maintenance guy who I guess checks the pool periodically A lot of kids were in the pool, he seemed to hyper fixate on the black kids when all the children were just playing and being kids He seemed to pick them out I hate to say that, but I observed it twice And that’s what it was giving Won’t be staying here again

Me and my husband stayed here back in February and it was amazing This was our first time away from our kids since the pandemic started and we enjoyed every moment The staff was really nice, the hotel in general was very clean

We stayed in two different rooms and loved them both, I really enjoyed the tub and shower and was able to relax The restaurant/bar was great and the drinks were the best I can’t wait to visit again and do some more sight seeing in the area

Derrick Woolfson

Well appointed hotel with several conveniently located restaurants & shopping Staff at desk were very friendly and accommodating They offered to check me in early, which was great

I also highly recommend their spa The massage therapist Agnes was incredible, honestly one of the best massages I’ve had All in all, great hotel for our business meetings and would absolutely stay here again Thanks for making our stay a pleasurable experience

Cory C

I was so excited to try this hotel for a few months now I stayed here one night and everything was just fine Everything was cleaned really no issues just nothing to tell other people about

The price is kinda high as well, I think the price is the main reason I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, doesn’t offer a good bang for your buck (In my opinion)

Absolutely stunning views Great room! Staff was kind and courteous the whole time Every time they saw me struggling with my toddler they offered to help us get to our room with our things

Everything was clean for the most part Took one star away because one of the pillows on the bed had a big brown stain on it Didn’t notice until we flipped the pillows over I think it was a stain that wouldn’t wash out but it was very off-putting But great location and wonderful staff overall We will definitely be back!

Sheri W S

Luis at the front desk was very attentive and friendly He greeted me as soon as I walked up and it took less than 5 minutes to get me checked in Lobby is a fairly large open space

Decorum is nice but the seats are VERY low The night I arrived there was a NBA playoff game on in the bar, very busy area and bartenders were on top of everything My room was spacious? Super clean and lots of outlets for your phone(s) and laptop and any other electronic device Amazing view of the lake Didn’t give 5 stars because there isn’t a 24 hr market pantry so I couldn’t get a soft drink after 10pm because the market area closes at that time A minor thing but good to know ahead of time

Richard Holborow

I stayed here for a conference The hotel is very impressive and has a great elevator system, to accommodate its huge height The rooms were very spacious with their own sofa and the bathrooms offered large showering and bathing areas

Are used to room service on one occasion and found it to be very good efficient and quality of food was average My only negative point is that it is at least one hours walk into downtown Chicago so most people will need to use a taxi, Although the walk across the Lakeside promenade was beautiful and certainly worth doing at least on one occasion The area around the hotel felt safe and there are also some great areas to explore local to the hotel

We love staying in a piece of history The rooms were extremely comfortable The convenience of the food hall was a huge help

The hot breakfast was excellent The staff were incredible So accommodating It was convenient to two different CTA lines The blue line was only a short block away Our room on the north side of the building had a great view of the United Center and the city It was understandably noisy with the highway, Metro, and hospital nearby Nothing too egregious My only quibble with the whole place was the elevators They were very modern They confounded us and a number of other guests I’m all for an updated feature, but they were a source of frustration

Travis Dobynes

Don’t stay here At nearly $200 a night it’s not worth it Yes, It’s cool that it used to be a hospital but it’s too big and I mean that in a bad way

Everything echoes, there is nothing in the huge hallways to absorb the sound of other guests doors slamming or hearing other televisions If you want a quiet nights rest then forget it There are so many other choices in this city Hyatt, you knew the place was huge and sound would be an issue Do better The nice low key bar is the only reason for the second star

Rhiannon Geiser

i wouldn’t stay here again I booked a 2 queen bed room on a high floor for $456 When I checked in, no one told me the room changed at all

I go up to the room and there is a king bed and a sofa bed I go back down to the front desk and they said “oh, well we ran out of queen rooms so we have you the sofa bed which is just as good” Uh…not for 450 bucks a night They said “ you booked through Hotelscom and they changed the room type It’s on them” I contacted hotelscom who said that wasn’t true at all but the hotel refused to even reduce the rate to the value of the room I was now in, which was in no way the same cost as the other room It was a one night stay so honestly it wouldn’t be a big deal to sleep on a sofa bed if they reduced the cost But having to be super uncomfortable and pay the same rate as if I had a comfortable bed was a tough pill to swallowThen we open the sofa bed and there were no sheets or blankets or pillows I call down to the front desk and they said to come down to get them I went down there and there were sheets and blankets but no pillows I said “do you have pillows?” She said “unfortunately, no we don’t at this time” What?!? It’s a hotel Finally an hour later she calls me and says we have pillows now Honestly, don’t stay here

Got a very good deal for 1 night in this hotel, as expected very pleasant stayThe location is unbeatable since you’re pretty much already in downtown and you can walk to all touristic attractions, besides having shops and restaurant very nearbyCheck inn was quick and efficient, the room big, clean and with all amenities

What makes different here is there views to Chicago skyline which I enjoyedOnce we’ve checked out we left our bags at the storage room and enjoyed a complimentary all you can drink coffeeAs Hilton client I’ve to say that this location complied with the name and what’s claimed by the chain

Becky W

Great hotel! We had a beautiful room Pool was small and PACKED like sardines with kids doing flips off the side of the pool Our kids didn’t want to stay so we went back to the room and screen shared Disney+ onto the in room TV, ate cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory and relaxed

Decent restaurants on the block Be aware of your surroundings when walking we were approached a couple of times for money and food outside of the hotel, but it didn’t feel too unsafe I would stay again!

Lynnette M.

Great experience overall The room was significantly larger than other Hilton’s we’ve stayed at Very clean, newly renovated, spacious, all the amenities you would need for a short or long stay, beautiful views, and excellent customer service

The only negative is that they only have valet parking which was a little expensive Thankfully, there are a few parking garages/lots nearby

Have never been Room was very nice and clean Nicely decorated

Shower was very nice We asked for an extra flat sheet that was never brought to us Our room had service rooms or something above They were very loud above us in the morning, and it actually woke us up when we were looking forward to sleeping in They kept dropping stuff above us and were very loud Our room was in front of the building near the busy street which was very loud They need to invest in better windows and sound proofing

Spicy Zing

Aura has always been a great spot to stay You can rent for a couple hours or for a night (must rsvp for overnight stays) I like that there’s different rooms to choose from and their reasonably priced

This is a Lovers Hotel, definitely meant for couples It’s a great place to take your significant other for a nice relaxing night together Though you must have a membership to even rent these rooms (M: $50, For a year)

J.O.B Telinfo

Aura really needs to upgrade all rooms especially Tryst room I got my package as advertised However, the room was not sound proof, no soap or conditioner in the shower dispenser, blood on the remote control which is a major negative!!!! Holes in the walls and etc You guys better do something because things like that will cause Aura at this location to be shutdown

I will not return to this hell and I want my refund for the blood on the remote control

Overall, an okay stay My family of four stayed for a 3 night stay Not once did we have our linens changed, room cleaned or trash picked up

Also, no fresh towels there were toys from likely the previous guests inside the room goes to show the room was not cleaned well beforehand There were red stains all over the carpet The amenities were why we stayed – Free parking, free hot breakfast, and the pool My kids enjoyed coming down and the selection of food It was convenient, but I would not come back based on service and cleanliness

I booked a room a month before and I arrived at 4:30pm only to be told to wait because the room was not ready and that they were inspecting the room I waited half an hour with my husband and two children, we were tired and hungry after our flight When I asked why the room wasn’t ready when check in was at 3pm, they didn’t have a specific answer

After that, another woman came and said that she would give us a better room That was really nice but all I wanted is a room I booked and check in on time Breakfast is ok, nothing special Two stars only because of the check in process and because the housekeepers come every third day And after the third day they changed only one bed sheet and left the other dirty The location of the hotel is great!

Crowne Plaza is an IHG hotel, which is why I stay there However, I while I honor the chain, I question the “pay for breakfast” option – the quality and selection of which is comparable to any other free continental at most other hotels The bar is adequately stocked – but not incredible, and the rooms are about par for their price

What saves this review from being 3 stars is Heather at the front desk She is kind and intelligent, super responsive and worthy of at least a raise and bonus Where the hotel itself was lackluster, she provided the shine and then more

Hearing protection required! This hotel is located directly at the Interstate with paper thin walls and windows This was a hell of a night

To be fair, they have rooms facing the rear but said they were all sold outAt checkin we were told about the hotel breakfast The next morning we were asked to pay for it even though it was never mentioned before In addition the breakfast is average at mostThis was the one and only time I stayed there Only giving it 2 stars because the rooms were clean and the bed was decent

Nick and Kelley made my business trip much better Nick was always on top of it at the front desk and took care of everything I needed even though he was definitely doing double shifts and had every reason to not help me out, even when working on his birthday! After a long days work Kelley was a welcome sight at the bar/restaurant and took care of me and my coworkers and went above and beyond what I expected from this hotel These two along with the friendly front of house staff and shuttle drivers made my trip much more pleasant

At first I was a little apprehensive when we saw the place, however had a wonderful experience there The room smelled fresh and clean Wind during the summer time, was grateful to discover that the AC worked really well, And was surprised With the scolding hot shower shower after coming back you’re coming back from A very rainy cubs game

The people were friendly and the doors automatically lock when you step outside so do make sure you remember your keys It was only 35 minutes away from Wrigley Stadium, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a nice cheap hotel that’s clean and not too out of the way

After researching, my wife and I chose this hotel to stay 3 nights during our visit in Chicago last week We were happy we made the right choice Our room had an excellent city skyline view

The whole room was so clean as in its brand new condition The bed was comfortable We felt very safe as everyone had to use a room key to enter the building and function the elevator, while the front desk was just feet away from the door Location was excellent to us, right in the Chinatown and close to the train station This hotel definitely deserves a 5-star rating Only one thing I would suggest is the staffs at the front desk need a hospitality training Out of 3 staffs at the front desk we had encountered during our stay, only the one handled our check-out performed well They did their job well but they should greet the check-in guests and wear a bit friendly smile on their faces

All-in-all, not a bad hotel! With no surface or garage parking, it’s a free for all but luckily there is a public parking lot near the rail station for $16/day No breakfast, no pool, no frills – just a clean and quaint hotel lobby with clean and cozy rooms Two stairwells lead outside leaving the elevator as the only option to travel directly between the room floors and the lobby

Never felt unsafe in the location of this hotel

Zachery Gottshall

No parking, no pool, no breakfast The rooms are barely big enough to fit two tiny “queen” sized beds, with too few outlets and very little furniture One positive is that each floor has a dispenser with filtered water that you can get either ice cold or hot enough to make tea

That probably isn’t enough for you to chose Jaslin over a more standard chain hotel though Jaslin is fine and may be a good choice if the location is really convenient for you Otherwise, there’s probably a dozen better hotels in Chicago

Clean, comfortable room I got upgraded to a king suite Nice staff

Ideal location for me Just three things I was not happy about-Channel up/down on the TV remote didn’t work Had to manually put in channels Hard to do when you don’t know the channel numbers-Phone in room didn’t work-I was told pool was heated It was not

Cat 3

Pros: Comfortable beds, quiet, the pool is huge Showers had good water pressure The front desk guy that I saw the most was super nice and helpful

Cons: Things that were listed on the website were either unavailable or not true (no free breakfast, the pool is NOT heated, the restaurant is not open) If you have a lot of luggage and need to haul it in with a cart the entrance from the side parking lot isn’t accessible (there’s a step to get in the door) and the back parking lot is gravelI think a lot of the cons wouldn’t have stung so much if the price per night hadn’t been so high I kind of ate the cost because I thought I was paying for the amenties, but to get there and have to go to WalMart to get microwave breakfasts and dinners suckedI would only stay here again if the rooms were 100 or less a night, or if they got the breakfast/restaurant situation straightened out

AWFUL place to stay including management I took pictures of my room that I will be posting on other social mediaThe room was not cleaned

An opened beer was in the fridge, safety bobby pin on the floor, tape literally holding some of the wall together, and the mirror when steamed stated ‘TRUMP 2021!’ I talked to the supervisor when he came in at 4pm only to say they will just take 20% off and can’t find any product to remove the sign on the mirror! Room preparation is a simple task Hotels accept damage deposits, so most issues should be an easy fix, just buy a new mirror or washing product then! Seems very lazy on staff
