I really wanted to give this place a 5 Star Rating! The Marriott brand has become a name I trust when my family is traveling That being said, the Delta Marriott has all the “Curb appeal” and extra added touches! It’s very clean and they offer 2 queen beds unlike many other hotels we’ve stayed at that only offer 2 full size beds The only problem here (and it was a big one for me) is that the windows are so thin that you hear EVERY passing vehicle, we had to check to see if the windows in our room were left open

We had spent 2 days on the road and hoped to get a good night’s rest and unfortunately for me that was NOT the case I’m not a light sleeper so for those who are this is probably not the place for you! The customer service (Virginia)and the amenities are great, it’s what I’ve come to love about Marriott, but please consider fixing your windows and this would easily be a 5 star rating

Kia Clopton

This is a recently renovated hotel that still has a lot of kinks to work out It is aesthetically pleasing but beyond the visuals there’s much to be worked out I experienced a lack of hot water in the shower, a loud ac unit, and the windows are extremely thin so it sounded like we had the window open and could hear every passing vehicle

Well I’ve already written a review on this location I believe, but todays experience is worth another one I came back for the second time in a week traveling back and forth to NYC This time however my AC wasn’t blowing cold air

So I went down to the front desk and the maintenance guy was actually on location (would have figured they work a more daytime type shift and then on call) His name is Jerry He came up with me to my room and checked a couple things then went to the roof to check breaker and came back without being able to fix it Without hesitation he called down to front desk, had my room switched (which we checked first to make sure it was working) While I moved my stuff over he went downstairs to grab my new key and then brought it back up to me Thank you Jerry You helped solidify the reason I am ambassador with Marriott The level of professionalism and the genuine desire to help fix my problem was apparent the whole time This is what I expect and this is consistently delivered by the Marriott brand I think it’s easy to shout out the front desk staff, but sometimes housekeeping and maintenance and the folks that really keep these hotels moving are forgotten about On that note shout out to housekeeping too as every time I come the rooms are spotless and beds are made tight Thanks again Jerry!

staff was very pleasant i would return here for sure 🙂

Not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in but definitely not the best for the price We chose it because of the location but probably wouldn’t stay again They advertise a pool but it is the smallest hotel pool I’ve ever seen

Their smoke detectors have flashing lights that flash ALL NIGHT long No one seemed surprised when I complained about this so at the very least they could warn you about this issue – horrible and unnecessary engineering/design This kept me and my kids up most of the night, the front desk was less than helpful when I asked for a solution Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast, heavy on the pre-packaged stuff I have several kids and needed extra pillows, they would only give me two and acted like they needed to ration them There are no suites at this hotel so we were trying to make due They gave a slight discount for our sleepless night but for less than a 24 hour stay for $150 w/taxes and everything I felt like it was not worth it

I’ve booked this place after looking at the reviews and its actually quite good I was traveling from DC

to Alabama before I decided to stay here for the night The room was extremely spacious The rooms also appear pretty new, although I’m not sure if they renovated it recently It’s got a TV with Direct TV which is good but limited channels, however The major issues are that: The room’s got a (small sized) window AC, and with the room being huge, takes a while for it cool the room They do not provide enough soap/shampoo – all they give is one skinny soap bar Surprisingly, the place does not offer breakfast, considering the fact that they charge $70 per night which is seemingly comparable to others in the area

Sheri Rose

My niece stayed here for two nights when visiting family in Abingdon ( I live here) She always uses her own bedding when she stays in motels and had pulled the sheets that were on the bed off and left them in a corner of the roomHer curtains on the windows remained closed the entire time she was there except for just before she left when she was looking for her sister to pull up

When she left the key in the office she was accused of stealing the bed sheets- I’m assuming because the ones she pulled off had been picked up by someone the day before when cleaning the roomShe finds out that they had entered her room while she was out to ” inspect”?? Due to this accusationThe question with the window curtains being closed is did you have a camera in the room to watch her pull the sheets off the bed and accuse her stealing them or what?Got no apology for the explanation and the accusation Will not be staying here again! If this is managed by someone then the owners need to find new management or train the ones they have!!The room was clean the stay was okay for that and the view was beautiful but the management needs to stop being so suspicious and hateful and definitely needs to understand that when you rent a room it’s yours not theirs to walk in and do what they want other than maid service!!No one in our family- which is very large and mostly local-will be staying here again!!

Patty

Stay here, it’s nice! Pretty view from our room, only 2 mi from downtown Abingdon Very clean, quiet, and safe TV, microwave, refrigerator, wi-fi, and shower all work well and bed is comfy

Price is reasonable Bella’s, a good pizza place, is next door But there is no breakfast, only coffee, so bring your own food Also the only amenities are soap and tissues, so bring what you need We definitely recommend the Alpine motel

Me and my daughter stayed at the Martha 2 nights to celebrate our birthdays The hotel is beautiful and it was a unique experience The complimentary breakfast was excellent and I was not expecting it to be as nice as it was, which was a pleasant surprise

It is served to you personally which was a nice touch, and our server (Josh I think?) was great We also loved the pool & jacuzzi The gym was nice but some of the machines were broken The room was nice and the beds were very comfortable I would give 5 stars for just the hotelWe both had spa services, and unfortunately both of us were disappointed I had a massage and it was not relaxing and I did not enjoy it – in fact I was just waiting for it to be over The therapist was not very good and didn’t seem to know what she was doing, or care very much I am a massage therapist myself so I have had plenty of massages, and this was probably one of the worst ones I’ve had It did not feel good and even hurt a lot of the time She kept clearing her throat literally the entire time which was annoying & distracting My daughter received a facial and she also did not enjoy her service She said she was not informed of the products that the esthetician was using on her face This was extremely disappointing as the services were very pricey I wish I would have said something I would give the spa 1 star for these reasonsOverall we enjoyed our stay but would definitely not utilize the spa services if I visited the hotel again

My wife and I stayed at the Martha Washington for a couple of nights while we saw a show at the Barter Theater, which by the way is across the street making for a very convenient location I really liked staying here The place is clean and well maintained, but with a lot of old charm

Our room was not too large, but large enough Breakfast is included with your stay as is a coupon that can be used for dinner in the Sister’s Restaurant We did not use the coupon as there are a couple of really good restaurants in Abingdon that we wanted to try The staff is friendly and helpful No need to valet park as everything is within walking distance So, why only four stars? I think it’s just a bit too much money for what you get I would have given the Martha 4 1/2 stars if that was an option

Melissa Marie

Great weekend get-a-way! The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Abingdon and across the street from Barter Theater Our room 429 was located in the attic The location was very private, which we enjoyed

The room was clean without any noticeable problems The bed was super comfortable and shower was great! The hotel staff was very friendly and helpfulThere are many great restaurants within walking distance Sisters American Grill is located inside the hotel Continental breakfast is served there and dinner in the evening You need a reservation for dinner The hotel has coffee available in the lobby throughout the day Port wine is served in the evening We did not encounter any ghosts or unusual sitings during our stay 😊

Wow! What a great stay Location is great, hotel is beautiful, staff is so friendly, attached restaurant and rooftop bar were awesome, and it is so clean!Rooms were very well sound insulated and full of thoughtful touches There was a stylish ceiling fan in our room and the windows open a little for fresh air

You are able to go to the country music museum next door for free; just show them your room key (It is a nice museum)Definitely recommend!

Nikki Ball

Our stay was incredible People can make pictures of places look however they want, but The Bristol Hotel looked exactly as the photos, exceedingly better even It was exceptionally clean and our room was beautiful

Cindy was working the front desk and she was such a pleasure She was very helpful, warm and welcoming Her personality was wonderful We ate Sunday brunch at Vivian’s Table and both the service and food were excellent I don’t have a single complaint with anything about The Bristol Hotel and even though I’m relatively local to the area, I will certainly be booking another stay here again

Sammy Bones

Nice hotel Friendly staff Rooms were clean

Hotel restaurant was tasty The only thing I would have to mention is the ceiling fans in the rooms must be on the same remote as other rooms So, your fan might get adjusted in the middle of the night by your neighbors, but other than that, it was a pleasant stay Beds were really comfortable also Overall a very good experience

I made this reservation for my family (2 adults & 3 kids) as they were traveling home from vacation I was having a difficult time finding a place that had room for 5 persons in the room When I found this place, I made a call and spoke with Don

He was so friendly and helpful I was able to reserve and pay for the room over the phone Upon arrival, I was told that all the staff was very professional and warm Their room had 2 Queen beds and 1 Sofa The room was large and very clean and the beds were very comfortable Before they checked out the next morning they took advantage of the FREE hot buffet breakfast and they said it was very good and lots of variety for both adults and childrenI am always concerned when my kids and grandkids are traveling but Don said they would take great care of them and they exceeded all our expectations! Thank you so much!

Karrie Austin

We stopped here after about 11 hours of driving and found one of the friendliest women I’ve ever encountered at a hotel Even with a staff shortage she was doing everything she could to make sure everyone was welcomed and had everything they needed I can’t say enough nice things about Jamie

The rooms were clean The breakfast was well stocked and the coffee was good tooIf you’re looking for somewhere to stay very close to 81 this is the place to go!

This hotel is so poorly run that I wouldn’t recommend anyone ever staying here Elevator stopped working and the “manager” couldn’t care less I guess this hotel doesn’t realize ADA compliance is a thing

The “manager” never shows up to work on time himself and they seem to have a problem with staffing The small staff they do have seems to be overworked and treated horribly by the owners (who live in the hotel and do nothing to help their staff Instead they hide in their room and only seem to come out to create issues) Any housekeeping issue is a direct result of this housekeepers expected to clean 50+ rooms and spend less than 15-20 minutes total on each one, so nothing is properly cleaned The only linens that washed daily are sheets and towels Anything else is rarely washed unless there’s an inspection The breakfast here is also poor quality compared to other Choice Hotels The only positives here are a couple of friendly front desk employees and comfortable new mattresses

Chesbay Windseeker

Our room was okay at best but not really that nice Maybe the management just doesn’t care, but, large yellow stains on bed linens give the room a feeling of being dirty If stains won’t wash out, it’s time to throw them away

Also, the TV in our room had dead pixels making it essentially unusable I would not visit here again, based on my experience I would not recommend this hotel On a positive note, the staff was friendly

Melody Counts

Very rude staff (overnight white male) acted like he absolutely hated his job He was kicked back on his phone when we arrived, acted like it was such an inconvenience to get us checked in Breakfast was absolutely disgusting, nothing was fresh

Would not stay again, not to mention the room smelled like smoke, stains on the carpet and walls, hotel in general stunk With Owners that live at the hotel (overheard staff talking) the hotel should be way better than it is Will not be returning

Where to start? The bathroom door has springs to keep it closed, so the bathroom is musty and smells it The light bases had a slight coat of surface rust and the mirror frame is either moldy or the silver paint is wearing off and showing a black baseAdditionally we had to lift the toilet tank cover off 3 times to stop it from running continuously

The last time, it was the filler tube that had come loose from the valve and caught on the floatThe restaurant was dark and looked unclean enough to discourage us from dinning in for either dinner or breakfast The hostess/server didn’t even get off her stool to greet us She just said that if we decided to dine in, just pick a table The menu was extremely limited and unappealing, so we left for dinner and didn’t even think about getting breakfast there On the way out of the hotel, my wife got a cup of coffee to go and wound up pouring it out before we left the parking lot after one sipThis hotel is in serious need of a refresh and we will not stay here again

Tamara Margulski

Easy to find and very close to the highwayThis was just a quick overnight for us and the Hilton team went way above and beyondNot only did we get in a lil late, they were so kind and understanding, but it was also my husband’s birthday and they left a card in the room

Its these little things that make all the difference

CoLtOn M

It sucked, customer service was terrible, and the front desk ladies were extremely rude We had booked with breakfast, didn’t get it, talked to night manager, she added it back Morning lady, said no breakfast for the rate we were paying

So we didn’t get breakfast for our entire week long stay because of an employee feud between the night last and the morning lady Then when asking to get our room turned, we received stained dirty sheets We spoke to the manager and she called us a liar and said that the “executive housekeeping manager” had done it And that it was “impossible” Overall, customer service was terrible, rooms were dirty and the pool smelled really bad, not the Hilton Promise we were expecting Here we come Hampton Inn!

The King Suite was big and nicely appointed Our room faced the Interstate and road noise was much louder than expected Thankfully we travelled with two noise machines so it didn’t seem to bother the little one

Wall unit heating and A/C Large bathroom with tub/shower combo and great water pressure Beds were comfortable Living area and bedroom are separated by a door Bar area downstairs offers breakfast and small plate food options for purchase They also offer Starbucks coffee The hotel was fully booked but we did not notice any noise coming from other rooms Overall, we enjoyed our quick stay

Keith Moody

This is probably an odd way to explain the hotel

the water pressure in the shower was awesome!!! I wish more hotels would have water pressure like this property, it’s the best we’ve had at a hotel Of course the rest of the services and staff were great and friendly This is a very nice and clean property with a good location and convenient We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area

Graham Lincoln

I was amazingly surprised by how luxurious this hotel looked inside and out The room me and my friends were staying in had a very comfortable foam mattress The cleaning service was amiable

That made our beds, stocked coffee, and washed towels The only problem we had was where the hotel was, and it wasn’t that big of a problem, but we were confused for a minute, but not bad enough to change my rating in stars

My family and I stayed here for a weekend fishing trip and it was amazing The lodge is right on the river with a fire pit available The fishing was also next level

Andrew Bright was our guide and he was the best! My wife was new to fly fishing and he helped her learn and catch fish I could not have asked for a better guide or better accommodations Top notch, would 100% recommend the lodge and Andrew

Keith Sochor

hands down the best fishing experience John and his team were amazing extremely professional and cater to all your needs

they go out of the way to ensure you are having the best time possible what impressed me most was the first day we fished we received well over an inch of rain, they also had to release the damn for the first time in a month and a half when I woke up on day 2 the river was completely blown out, I thought to myself there was no way we were fishing today, but to my surprise the guides spent about 30 extra minutes driving around to find some fishable water and still managed to put us on 30+ fish if I could give 6 stars I would

Nick

Just an overall great trip, and easy From the airport pickup to the great meals to the well stocked refrigerators and of course the stable of really knowledgeable and fun guides that work with S HOLSTON You should add this to fishing trip list, but book early as they seem to be popular (rightfully so) and stay booked up a lot

Highly recommend!!

One of the nicest Motel 6 hotels I’ve ever stayed at The front desk attendant was very nice and helpful Plus it’s a pet friendly hotel with no fee or restrictions on the pets or size, which is one of the best amenities

The room was a nice size, up dated, and clean The bathroom was clean besides a few dog hairs in the tub My only complaint was the elevator smelled awful bad like urine, but that’s sort of normal and expected with pet friendly hotels

Andria Ragland

Pros: Friendly staff, safe location and close to a lot of places Decent amount of room and comfortable bed for the price Mini fridge gets very cold, and room was very clean with the exception of the bathtub

Cons: Bathtub had several questionable hairs left in and on it The piece you pull up on the bathtub spout that allows you to take a shower would not stay up It took me 10 minutes to get it to finally stay in place long enough for a shower, which is the length of time it took for the water to get warm, never hot I despise cold showers so this was my biggest issue Also, for the ladies, hard to put makeup on with the very dim lighting Not a big deal, but worth mentioning if you like to be precise with your makeup, bring a lighted mirrorOverall, not bad for the price if you can get past the shower issues

William Snow

Overall not horrible, stayed here before and was better last time but there was random hairs that weren’t cleaned upDrains ran slow and I investigated to find hair clogged drains that were disgusting Takes a long time for hot water

Would like a refund or a free night and these issues corrected for future people using roos and facilities

My wife and I have stayed here more than once when we are in that area We may have to go out that way one more time and more than likely will choose this place to stay for a night There were two full size beds in the rooms but we would really prefer one king size bed

They are a nice motel but they are not five star I will say the beds are very comfortable and I had a good night sleep there

Jose Ortega

The staff was super friendly and so check in was quick The room was clean and overall the whole place was quiet It seems that Red Roof INN places are hit and miss but this one was hit all the way

parking was pretty easy to get There is a lot pf places near by to get something to eat which is always great After being on the road all day, this was just what I needed

The manager said I booked a room with two single beds to entice us to “upgrade” to a king…with a fee no less I didn’t know till after we left that they DO NOT have single beds in any of their roomsDon’t believe the “Pet Friendly” statement

He charged us for both service dogs! Then he lied when contacted by my booking companyThe room was reasonably clean and comfortable…nothing specialAs many hotels/motels that there are in the Bristol area I would see no need for anyone to take a chance with this place
