ROOFTOP BAR REVIEW! I didn’t stay here but I went to the rooftop bar and it is worthy of this review! You can see that the rooms would also have incredible views but if the hotel itself is above your budget still be sure to check out The Cellar Bar on the rooftop! I had went to another rooftop bar in Manhattan and was not satisfied and ended up here It is a very close walk from the subway station in a pretty safe feeling but quiet neighborhood When I was there it wasn’t crowed, there was a live DJ and a very good mix of music to suit anyone

You can walk all the way around the rooftop and see incredible views from any angle I do believe that this was my favorite spot in the city We found reclining chairs next to the wall and sat back, relaxed and took the city in This is a must do for anyone looking for a rooftop experience, I promise you won’t be disappointed! There is no cover charge and drinks average around $15 but the view is priceless! I didn’t hear a dress code mentioned and most people looked fairly comfortable, no one was particularly overdressed, very laid back bar

My fiance and I booked this room last week and I must say I was a bit disappointed I was confused on whether it was a hotel or motel We were on the tenth floor, and all though the view was wonderful, the entire floor smelled like marijuana

It caught me off guard to see so much snacks and drinks for sale taking up space in the desk and fridge To top it off, there was “love box” for sale on the snack box, which gave me the impression that the hotel is used only to hook up Idk it was just weird The room was super tiny and I’ve never been in a hotel where the bathroom sink is not actually in the bathroom Long story short, the place has lots of potential to be a 5 star hotel if they clean the place properly, maintenance it and put an ice machine and bucket in every room and floor I also want to say that Gaby is the best staff they got She is the best host

Tom Costanza

I’ve stayed here about a half dozen times over the last 3-4 years and always enjoyed it I was pleasantly surprised to see the great, new remodel to the rooms Clean, bright and contemporary

The view is, as always, unbeatable The staff is friendly and courteous Two suggestions: 1) How about in-room coffee? I love a cup before I get moving in the morning2) And this one is almost a dealbreaker – I like a hot breakfast in the morning! The buffet is very well done Fresh fruit, bagels, the works But I’d rather not pay the $25 added to the bill and get some eggs, etc for breakfast like I used to be able to get here I miss that Disappointing for a hotel that otherwise exceeds expectations

Everything was good about the hotel itself We booked the entry room Given the location, the room was certainly not huge

Very nice though The refrigerator in our room did not work, and the mattress needed to be replaced The side closest to the door, which is probably the side most commonly slept, was worn out and not comfortable My wife took the other side and was in a bit better shape Aside that a lovely hotel in a great location Room service was excellent and the room was clean every day

This review is of the experience at the spa Reservations were on a Saturday morning We arrived about 10 minutes late which I was worried about but there was no issue and recieved full service

Peninsula Hotel presences a grand entrance absolutely beautiful! Elevators are located on the second floor, spa is on the 21st floor The spa lobby is comfortable and welcoming After completing a simple form the locker attendant escorted us to the locker roomShe was extremely resourceful walked us through everything The spa smells of eucalyptus and immediately creates a sensual relaxing feeling The furniture is of oak and walls are if warm colors The relaxing room has 4 beds that are also equipped with head phones A must experience before or after the service My facial was amazing This is a must stop if you in New York One of the best spa’s I’ve been too

Great location Straight shot from Grand Central if you exit though the market Plenty of places to eat within short walking distance, including 3 Japanese restaurants if that’s your thing

The rooms were clean and bed was comfortable No microwave in room so you have to go the breakfast area to reheat 😐 Speaking of which, it was okay, but nothing to rave about It was included so I’m not complaining Walls are thin, but the block is pretty quiet in general Excellent service at the front desk The TV had an annoying glitch It was the same for someone else who was part of our group Our room didn’t have a bathroom heater, which my girlfriend usually loves In summary it was a good stay, especially since we got a good deal It usually is more expensive than what we booked it for

Miro Miljković

hotel, staff is amazing, especially Ms Asia, she is great and really helpfully lady Hotel is at great location only few minutes walk from Grand Central Station

As New York first timers we looked for safe and best possible location to see the city, Hampton Inn Grad Central delivered all that we needed Special bonus goes to their great service and their taking care of their guests they offer to guest free bottled water so you can refresh between sightseeing My 5* goes to them Until next time

anabelle alvarez

Kaina at the front desk was super friendly and helpful The breakfast looked decent, although I didn’t get to try it myself there was good seating area and seemed like people were enjoying it We had lots of fun in New York and coming back to rest here was honestly great

The grand central subway was like 2 blocks down so that was very convenient I would definitely recommend and I’ll be going back soon!

I’ll start at the end It was a good sleep However, I checked in and received 501

The whole floor smelled like NYC sewers The room actually smelled worse It was also facing the back of another building, some world viewAnyway, the housekeeper said people cook in the rooms No way she really believed that but I decided to proceed to front desk Right away they knew and changed my room without hassle However, I don’t expect hassle when I book I expect a good experience all the way through Who knows what health hazards I exposed myself to?The food menu looked like a kids menu for the Department of Education Minds as well rough the cold or go to the booked out restaurant attachedMy new room bathroom door would swing because the lower track was missing It was a sliding door The walls were thin so it appeared someone else was opening your door but it was really the adjacent roomThe outlets in the room were so worn out I had to charge my computer phone and camera one at a timeDefinitely won’t be returning but happy to say it’s not because of the customer service, just a very unpleasant hotel stay I should add pictures but I wrote enoughIf you’re a traveler, beware The best thing is the nondescript 20th floor You all should put a heater on the balcony

Mika LaDoux

When we first got there the room and floor had a funny smell to it, but it went away once the room got aired out a bit I would definitely stay here again! The beds, bathroom, and room were clean The beds were comfortable

The staff was very helpful/accommodating and they even kept our bags for a few hours after checkout so we didn’t have to carry them around with us all day The location of this hotel is also convenient if you want to travel around by bike because it is very easy access to the Hudson River Greenway

Beaverus

I was thinking the hotel will be alright, but was amazing! The view from room was spectacular Hotel got great terrace at 20th floor and sitting there, drinking coffee and looking around city is one of the things i never forgot Hotel room room was clean and tidy

Coffee maker inside room, maybe not enough cups for whole week, but when i asked they give me more If You looking for hotel for walking around city, this one is for You – most of Subway got station very near hotel

Awesome location, reasonable price, great rooftop deck and courteous staff Simple breakfast daily and rooms cleaned upon request Considering it is right beside the Manhattan Bridge, it was very quiet

I saw a lot of bad reviews about the small rooms, but if you look through the photos they provide, then you know what you’re in for Personally, we weren’t staying there to hang out in the room all day, so the ‘cozy’ room was not a problem

Riley Pham

I had a flight cancellation so my trip to New York was shortened I talked to the hotel and they said they were willing to give me a gift card equivalent to 1 night stay in the hotel because I did not stay with them that night It was amazing

The staff were great and friendly The location is excellent! The room was very good, clean and neat! Breakfast was boring but never mind Overall, it’s a good experience in NYC

Ava Lehean

Our stay at this hotel was great! The location was perfect in terms of traveling to places around the Chinatown / Soho area The train station was also nearby for further locations Their checkout time was at 11 am but we requested a late checkout and were given a grace time of an extra hour without charge

The hotel provided us with free luggage storage which made it extremely convenient after check out

Te-Sheng Lin

A very nice and clean Marriott hotel with friendly staff It locates 5 minutes away from the famous South Street Seaport which has transformed itself into a relaxing cafe/bar/restaurant district with the beautiful East river & Brooklyn Bridge view This hotel doesn’t have executive lounge and free breakfast for the elites but you can prepay breakfast for $20 per person (you can also use the elite welcome F&B $10 credit per day )

During our stay, the bathroom sink faucet had splashing issue and the engineer came but without success The thing got worse, we had no hot water in the sink after Other than this minor issue, the overall experience was pleasant and enjoyable I highly recommend this hotel and I’ll definitely revisit this place again

Valeria Donoghue

This property is located Downtown by Pier 17 Perfect location for dinners and going out for drinks Beautiful sunsets and above all, I felt super safe walking around late at night

The staff working at the hotel is super friendly and helpful Sheets and pillows are clean and don’t have funky smells like other hotels in NYC Will definitely come back and recommend

Stormy Rosebud

The customer service here was off the charts! Max, the concierge that helped us the most, allowed us to check in early, took the time to show us our best travel options and give suggestions for what we might want to see, and even kept our luggage past our check-out time to help accommodate us between check-out and our departing flight! He was seriously the best! The room was not huge but very clean, house keeping is available by request due to covid, the area felt safe, and the location was perfect for everything we were looking to do!

I will say that I won a 2-night stay at this hotel from a sweepstakes, and from the very beginning, my contact with this hotel has been positive We stayed there this past weekend, and the hotel room we got was amazing We had a wrap-around balcony with beautiful views of the Empire State building

Even from our bed we could see the Empire State Building at night The room was clean with only a few minor signs of wear and tear, which I think is to be expected at any older hotel Room service was amazing, and we asked for an extra blanket and pillow, which were delivered right away The front desk staff was nice, and we particularly enjoyed chatting with doorman Eddie, who helped us get a cab I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be sure to stay there again when we return to NYC in a few years Thanks for the positive experience!

It was nice Once we got there We waited in the lobby roughly 35 minutes before someone showed up at the desk to help us

Breakfast probably took nearly 20 minutes to make All I ordered was a breakfast sandwich The room was nice and clean and the hotel itself is nice and clean The rooftop bar was pretty nice Really good views up there in the bartender and the staff are very accommodating They’re always checking to see if your glass needs to be refilled The fire alarm in my room went off twice randomly And it is ear piercingly loud One time when I was leaving a voicemail for a client and another when I was in the middle of a meeting with a client So that was fun

This was an amazing boutique hotel! Very clean! Walking distance to pier 40 and 30 minutes to little island We had a great time! Gigi , front desk, was amazing! So helpful, super friendly and kind! She made us feel comfortable and welcomed and she was always there for us to help us and give us recommendations The coffee people knew exactly what we ordered the 1st time and were so good too

The house keeper was adorable and very helpful too This is a very nice and cute hotel! The roof top bar and Azul have amazing views from the city! I highly recommend this hotel! Thank you to the staff at hotel Hugo for everything!

Rachelle Papineau

Incredible stay! We stayed at Hotel Hugo for six nights and were very impressed with our stay The rooms are very clean and have everything you need In regards to some reviews I’ve read about the rooms being small, I think you need to have some expectations when staying at a hotel in Manhattan (a standard king/double room just isn’t going to be that large) but while the rooms weren’t massive they were well planned so they still felt spacious and like I said, they have everything you need

Bonus that the beds are VERY comfortable and that the decor/vibe of the hotel is on pointEvery interaction we had with staff was very positive and the location is fantastic for exploring the city It’s walkable to plenty of great restaurants and bars and there are two subway lines in proximityThe only regret I have is we didn’t explore the cafe/dining options (for lack of time, not interest) but we did make it up to the rooftop bar for a round of drinks and WOW the view! The next time we’re in Manhattan we will definitely be staying at Hotel Hugo again – one of the best all around hospitality experiences I’ve had in a long time

I recently stayed at Vista LIC for 8 nights I had a very good experience and am glad I chose this hotel It is only 4 short blocks (5 min walk) to an uncrowded subway station, and only 2 stops from Manhattan

I was traveling alone and felt very safe The room was very quiet and clean, bed was super comfortable and the shower was nice and hot Definitely pay the extra for a room with a view of Manhattan It is well worth it- it looks like a postcard I needed a fridge to store medication and they accommodated immediately The rooftop bar and restaurant is super cool with amazing views The room price is very reasonable and a great value If you’re looking for a nice NYC hotel without paying the ridiculous Manhattan prices, this is the place for you

Walter Gottlieb

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel It was comfortable, convenient, had good amenities, and the staff was super-friendly and helpful It is located in a relatively quiet neighborhood and you feel like you are living there for a little while

Very walkable area and close to cafes, restaurants, stores, and attractions like MoMa at PS1 We chose a king room with city view and it was definitely worth a few extra bucks This hotel was a great value and I would definitely come back againDate of stay: February 2022

The perfect hotel in NYCPerfect location- midtown but not in the busy area, on lovely Bryant Park, near a subway station (B,D,F,M,7)The room was very nice: modern, well designed and spotless clean

The service was outstanding- we got every little thing we asked for with no delayAll the staff was super friendlyThey have A very nice Gym and a great terrace you can enjoy from What more can one ask?!We will definitely come back!

Emmanuel Enriquez

I love this place! Especially great when visiting NYC for work The concierge attends to your needs efficiently Our room was very clean when we got there, and it’s very hard to hear any disturbances outside of your room

The park terrace is a nice, relaxing spot to study or work after getting your free coffee Alternatively, you’re simply steps away from Blue Bottle and Bryant Park La Pécora Bianca provided great service and food Friendly service all around

Jessica Loo

Overall, the stay was disappointing given the high ratings/reviews For the price, much more was expected and there are better options nearbyPros: Location was convenient for midtown, right next to Bryant Park

Front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpfulCons: The bathroom was not designed with utility in mind There was no ventilation, hardly anywhere to hang clothes/towels, and the plug points were situated very low so the hairdryer did not sit comfortably The queen bed was very small The sheets and bedding did not feel particularly clean and weren’t comfortable Felt itchy and noticed bite marks that look like bed bug bites, but cannot confirm if they are indeed from bed bugs or some other insect

David Lew

The hotel is in a very convenient location, within walking distance to many restaurants and public transportation; it’s close enough to the tourist activities without being too close Our room, while a little small (maybe big for NY?), was comfortable and quiet Steven at the front desk was a fantastic, welcoming host and alone could make this a 5-star hotel

The nightly rates were also very reasonable My only gripe that bumped my review down a star is that the workout room had run out of wet wipes and hand sanitizer for majority of my stay, and wasn’t replenished until after I had asked

Roberta M

From moment of check-in, smooth, easy and desk staff extremely helpfulImmaculate room (king bed), 4 elevators, bed & pillows exceptionally comfortableExcellent location, quiet area, steps from battery park and several subway stations

Lots of great restaurants walking distanceLoved our stay Just tried to book again for next July 4 holidayHighly recommend

Amy Malina

I love this hotel I love the neighborhood, access to public transportation and all the beautiful water views, parks and sense of history Plenty of restaurants

The room is comfortable and clean and you have room to walk and put your things away and…a microwave and small refrigerator In these days of micro hotel rooms this is a luxury I am happy to make this my NYC hotel Request a water view and you have endless entertainment

The Conrad exceeded every expectation that we had The excellent service started with the Valet service and continued up until we departed The room was well worth the money I would highly recommend We will definitely without a doubt be staying here again The shower was separate from the toilet and sink The pressure of the water in the shower was fantastic so much in that I got lost in time while showering Valet parking for 2 days was only $65 which was well below what we were expecting to pay, so another excellent aspect of staying there Had a living room, privacy doors in the living room and bedroom Full stock mini bar, water filtration system, safe, touch everything

Catherine Bronson

We had an excellent stay here The rooms are well-appointed and the staff is friendly and outgoing They are attentive to all of the details which make for an exceptional stay

I’d want to especially thank Darwin, who worked the front desk, for going above and beyond several times during our stay He was exceedingly personable and even called over to their sister property in order to make sure our room was ready The staff here was nothing short of amazing Thank you!

Qiana Ross

Wonderful stay!! Place is beautiful, location is perfect for families needing more space than standard room The staff is exceptional, everyone we encountered was friendly and courteous, especially to a precious 5 yoDoris was very sweet and accommodating

She went above and beyond helping us celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary Next time we are in the city, we are booking there again!

I’ve been coming here for years If you decide to stay here you for sure won’t regret itAttended a conference The service was wonderful The food for the two day event was fresh, prepared and served well Supporting staff for the event were professional and friendly Conference space between the two floors was great The only thing missing was a charging station

Michael Taylor

Kind of a mixed review of our stay here Location was perfect for our purposes If you are wanting to be near the financial district or the World trade center or 911 museum, this hotel is perfect for location

The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable One very weird thing in our room was that the toilet paper in the bathroom was just placed on the sink counter No holder Not that a guest had taken or broken the holder, just missing Also, the restaurant in the hotel for breakfast was very poorly staffed and it seemed to be the cause of poor service The breakfast buffet was not well supplied which caused many there to be unhappy Since we were only there one night, it reflected poorly on the reputation of Marriott At the prices of a luxury hotel in NYC, the experience was less than expected

This hotel will wow you before you leave, as long as you stay away from the restaurant (more to come on that) Let’s start off with saying after traveling what an amazing place to arrive to The check in was a breeze

You do pay a $25 destination fee each day but don’t worry because you will get your money’s worth You can spend $25 every day on food and beverages, get access to the Big Bus tour downtown loop (2 tickets equal to $49 pp), $15 city bike credit, and much more The room service was the best I’ve ever seen We had 3 different housekeepers while we stayed and each one was amazing It’s very evident the management has a well trained staff with guest satisfaction as the number one focus, which was an amazing change of pace If you get the pleasure of having an interaction with Saad, you will walk away feeling valued Now the one item I feel Marriott downtown extremely failed at was the 3rd party restaurant they are letting occupy their beautiful building It was a complete failure to the point where after waiting for the manger of the restaurant to talk to me for 20 plus minutes, I had to walk to the front desk of the hotel to get assistance They had zero hosts and made people wait at least bare minimum 10 minutes to even interact with someone It was sad everyday you get in the elevator and everyone talked about their bad experience, makes you wonder when the last surprise audit for the restaurant was Every guest I interacted with used the $25 at the drink and snack station instead of the restaurant I was amazed you could use your destination fee at a restaurant but after 3 failed attempts at the restaurant and being ignored by their management, I couldn’t bare giving my vacation time or business to them when they have zero customers service Overall, amazing hotel but avoid using the on property restaurant

Everyone is very nice and welcoming The rooms are also very clean and comfortable Bathrooms are on the older side but very clean and very well maintained! Spent the Valentine weekend here and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating I cannot say enough about Lenny the doorman He was amazing and gets 5 stars!! Mary the concierge also stood out as a rock star

Friendly and sweetMy only constructive comment is the toilet water pressure isn’t great but typical of stately old NYC hotels Bravo Berkshire!!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Wyndham Garden Brooklyn Sunset Park The property is very well lite and easy to find We had a very pleasant check in and the room was very clean

The bed and pillows were super comfortable and we had a very good sleep The bathroom was very nice and modern with more than enough toiletries I will definitely recommend this property for all kinds of travelers, whether you are going for business or for pleasure, families or groups

The night clerk INSISTED on seeing photo ID for my 14-year-old son

He said NO GUEST CAN GO UPSTAIRS WITHOUT A PHOTO IDThis was news to meI went to my room and tried to find an alternative place to stay My son was stressed out I was tired from the drive We couldn’t believe this nonsense I looked for other hotel options and called friends to see if we could sleep over — not an easy thing to do during a pandemicAfter three hours we gave up and my son was a stow-away in a room I paid $300 for We canceled our evening plans and had to hole up in the room Instead of a relaxing visit, the evening was soured by a rude bureaucrat who thinks children carry photo identificationThe following morning a helpful desk clerk clarified that the photo ID rule does not apply to anyone under 18 Tell that to the night clerkotherwise: nice room, good water pressure

This is a great place if you are visiting Brooklyn on business It is convenient to many subway and bus lines The place is very clean, comfortable, bright and cheerful and the neighborhood is busy, diverse and safe

It is not a destination resort It is a great place to plug in your laptop, enjoy a pleasant view, have a good breakfast, and get to work

If you’re looking for a clean, safe and close to all that new york city has to offer look no further I stay at this courtyard 4 times a month and I’ve never had any issues in fact the only complaint I have about this location is that the elevators are horrible you can wait 10 minutes at times The rooms are always impeccably clean thanks to Nancy and crew

Check in is always a breeze thanks to Diana and Lucy they are most accommodating The bar is now open plenty of food in walking distance and on site parking I only wish each room had a microwave but again that’s just me wanting the most

Robertus Edison

Good location for people who want to visit ManhattanRoom not too spacious considering the NY price for land higher than other places in USClean room and friendly front desk staff

Stay here for 5 days without complaintsNeed to be aware of the hotel have no specific stop area in front of the lobby, so if you carry alot of luggage need to ask the driver look place nearby the hotel to stop

Scott Stanley

A very nice Marriott location Common areas and the lobby are clean Staff was very helpful with a problem that I had on my departure day

The hotel is located right next to the Jet Blue headquarters Rooms were about the size that I expected There is very convenient access to the subway Try and get a high floor if you are a light sleeper The trains do make an audible noise that can be heard all hours of the day I would not hesitate to stay here again

I’ve been coming here for a long time If you decide to stay here you definitely will love it I’m sure!My guest room was incredibly spacious and clean One of the biggest hotel rooms in New York City that I have ever stayed in! Upon check-in, the front desk staff was friendly and welcoming I was amazed at how much space I had in the guest room The breakfast offering in the M Club Lounge was impressive, with a buffet of sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, egg whites with veggies, breakfast potatoes, and more I recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a spacious and modern place to stay

I round up, otherwise I would say it’s about 35 stars Hotel has a good location as you can walk to the Brooklyn Bridge, restaurants, and little neighborhoods around

A little more walking then you can get to the promenade and walk along the water Rooms were average, but do NOT include a microwave and has a tiny fridge The weirdest thing was on our floor they had a community microwave in the hall near the elevators, seemed odd, and there was NOT one on every floor We reserved an accessible room with roll-in shower and they had it ready when we got there Often the hotels will make your reservation for accessible room with roll-in shower and then we get there and they don’t have it and give us another room like we won’t notice We needed a shower chair for my wife and the guy immediately got it for us Downside was on Thursday night some of us came back to the hotel about 1130p-12a and bar was closed Another day the gift shop lady was turning off lights and closing gate at 2pm even though sign in elevator said they were open until something like 8p or 10p Also when we checked out but weren’t leaving Brooklyn for a few hours the bellman held our luggage for us while we went to check out some things around the hotel to fill time

Pros: As for the hotel it is pretty nice and staff are friendly and helpful The view is nice but I think I could have been in a better room facing more to the city Bed were comfy and very nice showers

Cons: For the first time being NYC, if I had known I would stay more in the upper Manhattan part Chinatown would not be my first choice It’s pretty dirty in the area Also, I didn’t know they charge additional fees for amenities that I did not use It would have been nice to have a heads up on that Other than that if I were to stay in the lower Manhattan, I would recommend this placeFYI: Bring good shoes to walk!! I didn’t and my feet were hurting 😬😄

I knocked off a point because I sent an email to the hotel a week before my arrival and received no reply, the other reason was that the food service that was offered was expensive and quality was not greatNow for the positives; hotel was lovely, staff were friendly, the rooftop is amazing and although not on the website you do not need to reserve, and you get full access The complimentary coffee was actually decent

I had my phone and wallet stolen in NYC and the hotel waived my calls to the various banks which was really lovely Beds are super comfortable and the bathroom was excellent!Would definitely stay again

I’ve been staying here for a long time If you decide to stay here you definitely will love it I’m sure!I had an amazing stay The staff were extremely kind, and the GM Ryan took care of everything for us We had a 19th floor room with beautiful views of the city skyline The rooftop bar had amazing staff, reservations were required but they were kind enough to let us access the patio for the view 10/10 recommend dropping in to OS during your stay as well, the unlimited access for only $20 was a great bargain Thank you!
