Not sure why Google Maps describes this as a 2-star hotel It’s definitely a 3-star inn We stayed here at the beginning & end of a road trip through northern California, because it’s only 30 minutes from SFO

A MUCH nicer choice than the hotel airports We stayed in the Mavericks & Dunes suites Both immaculate and thoughtfully appointed, including an ice machine, snacks & bottled water We loved hearing the fog horn and the barking sea lion Otherwise SO quiet and peaceful Note that the “fireplace” (actually gas stove) is the unit’s heat, and it will kick on and off according to how you set the thermostat on the wall Also note that there is no on-site staff in this very small (6-unit) inn–your room key will be in an envelope in a mailbox We will be back!

Helen Jenkins

Amazing and beautiful place We stayed 6 days for our son’s wedding at the Inn and they accommodated us in every way possible Melissa and all the housekeeping staff were wonderful

The views were amazing and its walking distance to restaurants and shopping The sea lions and fog horns were enjoyable to hear Everything was perfect! Thanks for a wonderful memory!

Maria A

I took my parents here and we couldn’t be more pleased I was impressed with the room quality and cleanliness, and most of all the beautiful view from the room I enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a blanket, drinking a hot chocolate (from their complimentary snack basket), looking at the ocean view while listening to the sea lions barking and fog horn going off every couple of seconds

We were also able to walk to nearby restaurants and brought our food back to the room so we can enjoy the view while we ate It was such a nice retreat and would love to return in the future

Great hotel for a conference! Stayed here for four nights for a work conference Check in was super easy using the online system and I was able to get my key card right away when I got to the hotel Rooms are clean and the hotel is beautiful with a large glass atrium over the center

Mandatory quiet hours from 9pm to 7am make this a great stay for a business trip! Plenty of elevators so no waiting in the lobby Pool on-site but it doesn’t seem crowded, even in late July Great conference room with space for a huge event, easily over 200 people Conference food is higher end as well with 3 courses and two meat options at lunch and full coffee service in the morning and afternoon snack as well Would definitely stay here again!

Debbie Cusic

A very very pleasant stay Quick efficient check-in by a very nice person who was not only courteous but helpful All the staff was friendly and seemed happy

The room was very quiet and could be made very dark Everything was sparkling clean The bed and pillows were comfortable The cake cup coffee maker was handy Would love to stay again

T. Farris

Outstanding Hotel Experience Gotta mention the Atrium area is first rate with the restaurant, coffee, and snack areas with tons of seating in a seemingly open air environment Stayed four nights and paid extra for a Suite

The suite had a bedroom with a full bathroom attached separate area in the bathroom with the tub and a television Separate glass shower and private toilet room Not to mention, a half bathroom next to the suites entrance door The kids used the sofa bed in the living room Tons of seating besides to sofa and loveseat in the suite Four different chairs in the living room area An eight person dining room table Also a three chair island in the kitchen area Service staff was excellent and friendly Would definitely recommend and return to stay Big fan of the Hyatt brand, stayed at several Hyatt Places all over and finally stepped up our stay with a Regency Only draw back is the parking structure is very dirty A lot of trash on the ground and darkly lit Needs better lighting at night

Nice lobby and staff, indoor pool and fitness area Nice view from the room The view was of a river like part of the bay, there was a garden outside with a gate only accessible in and out with a hotel key

The lobby was huge and had plenty of charging ports, a table for business, chairs, etc The indoor pool was nice and warm and has a handicap lift Thats the pros The cons are very hard beds, no microwave in the rooms, everything costs money including the breakfast and not a flat fee, by individual product The air conditioner thermostat is on the wall, but it runs a very old window metal one like you see in old hotels so of course it makes loud noises turning on and off The beds were so hard i slept on the floor instead Bathroom was spacious but the toilet was only about 6 inches off the floor with no rails or anything to help you up and it was in a nook, so no stretching out legs or having disabilities with that toilet So 50/50

Jason Smith

The rooms are good size and plenty of room and furnitureThere is a pool and jacuzzi, an exercise room and a couple gas grill if you want to cook something on the grillThe website says free grab n go continental breakfast, but they actually have a hot breakfast, eggs, potatoes, hot oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, muffins, juices, hot chocolate and coffee

Did some fishing right outside the building and also a great spot for a leisurely walk along the waterVery good value for the money

Rajai Dias

I don’t know why this hotel is highly rated! It’s an old residence inn that needs a lot of updating! Our room needed a lot of TLC! We got a double queen suite for the night Beds were ok for comfort All the handles for the doors in our rooms were falling off

The chair legs to the dining room table were all wobbly We had to leave a chair outside our room so they can take it away since it was one seat away from being broken We found old, funky, and filthy slippers under our bed— gross! The place seemed very short staffed and it was hard to get towels or anything else you needed I honestly feel like I should overpaid for this place Only pro: cable TV

Such a nice place to stay Great location to stay, park and fly Close to airport

Vicky was so helpful at our check-in So friendly and engaging She told us about a couple places to eat dinner and everything about parking our car while we’re gone She even set up a ride to the airport the next morning Thanks for all you did for us We will stay here again Room was comfortable and slept well

Tobias Herrmann

Would give 45 if I could for the current very reasonable price Rooms very clean

Staff very nice A basic hotel/motel to stay for a day or two close to the airport Nothing to complain about basic amenities Location is about 30 min away from the city via car/uber, more than an hour taking public transport Couple of restaurants close by I know they might be bound by COVID regulations but there were a couple of things that did not really work and that we did not expect to encounter in spring 2022 Restaurant and airport shuttle not operating The most minimalistic breakfast and vending machines not working

Susan Trujillo

Nice suite, clean and comfortable Appreciated that the complimentary breakfast included hot food optionsSome have mentioned the noise from the train, In building 2, I never heard a peep but a family member in building 3 did hear and found it annoying

Bed was comfy and the location was convenient and staff were pleasant and courteous

Service and views! Justin’s service is exceptional and made sure my stay here was outstanding They went about and beyond the norm of a hotel Accommodated me for anything i need and got me a beautiful bay view

He and his staff are on point5 nights total and my stay was very comfortable and i can’t wait to make another trip and bring my family with me Hope to see you all soon! And with an amazing bar and food in the lobby! Thanks for a warm welcome

chris ohanians

Really poor hotel, staff and amenities The staff are uninterested in main They do not want to provide a good customer service experience

The bar is often unmanned, the breakfast cafe was sometimes unstaffed and closed The bar menu is limited at best The rooms are not clean We had blood on the floor of the room and the concierge staff were somewhat surprised we asked for the room to be cleaned In the end they just put some towels outside the door Guests also bring their own bags in on trolleys in a 9 floor hotel The parking is charged to guests at $30 per day without any discount or free access to paying guests A terrible experience all round and would avoid at all costs if you are staying in Redwood City

Kathleen McCabe

On the plus side the staff are outstanding, friendly, try really hardOn the needs improvement side: property was once branded as a SofitelThat was clearly some time and some age of the premises and upkeep ago

Recently rebranded from another name to Grand Bay, the temporary signage they’ve slapped on the building looks so sketchyDespite its outstanding location in great proximity to a number of large businesses in the area, the building is very tired, in need of upgrades, very limited food services, no real amenities or services on site No laundry In the rooms themselves, definitely tired and in need of renovation Defects in the bathroom walls have been painted over repeatedly Cleaning is just so so Hairs in the bathtub which clearly were not mine No robes, no laundry service, and if your luggage is lost like mine was there’s very little that they can offer you to helpRoom service staff are extremely pleasant and responsive but the menu is very limited and the prices are out of step with the quality of the food All food comes with plastic utensils and plastic containers and delivered in plastic bags so it’s never hot by the time it gets to your room and just feels like cheap takeout At very inflated prices Food services hours are very limited Bar shuts at 10 You can’t get anything to eat all afternoon not even room service Room service ends early Not 24 hours Makes it challenging for the visitors who are coming to this area from all over North America and internationallyThe building itself has good bones and the location is fantastic right on the water with a great outdoor patio But a significant lift and investment in refurbishing the physical premises and an improving food and beverage hours and quality and adding the amenities that business travellers expect would raise the status of this property But for now it does not justify the price as it chargesAlthough this is the most convenient location when I come to the area, I won’t be staying here again unless there’s a significant refresh

This place is honestly a hidden gem The staff was very courteous and professional and I loved that they kept me updated with emails and texts before and during my stay The lobby is adorable and has free coffee, tea, and hot cocoa available 24/7

They have a very reasonably priced happy hour as well as cork screws available in the room if you’d rather pop over across the street to the grocery store and buy your own wineI stayed in the 2 queen bed deluxe room and it was wonderful! The beds are firm which I loved and the room was spacious and exceptionally clean The personal balcony with privacy curtains is awesome and I would’ve definitely taken advantage of that if I wasn’t staying in the middle of JanuaryYou have standard hotel noise and some rumblings from the train but nothing that kept us up at night and nothing that some ear plugs couldn’t fix The location to public transportation and downtown Millbrae is superb

Mel Litts

Clean room and polite staff Felt like a safe environment Airport “shuttle” is just the regular public bus, but the stop is quite close

Just bring cash for that Breakfast wasn’t free at all and only fruit as option for vegan, stopped at Peter’s Cafe very short walk for something more filling Overall good hotel for a great price in SF

miranda baggett

We stayed on the second floor, the room was very clean, staff was friendly and helpful The decor was super cute, but the bed was way too soft and the pillow situation wasn’t any better either With the curtains closed shut the light was still let in immediately with the sunrise

We also got a noise complaint at 8:50pm on a Sunday, we definitely weren’t being quiet, but not obnoxiously loud enough for a complaint that early, (maybe a Karen was below us) Location is good, near the airport and Bart station

Nicole at Front Desk was very courteous and welcoming I checked in after midnight, and our airport shuttle unloaded about six room room accommodations She was alone and handled the situation efficiently and gave individual attention

Her demeanor invited our appreciation and humor at the situationI’m happy the breakfast buffet is back The staff serviced the full cafe, bar and extra-seating area gracefully and effectively

Daniel Wicker

Outstanding hospitality displayed by all staff The property is very clean, restaurant has excellent tasting food The decor of the interior of the hotel is very comforting

Lots of space for all business and event meeting needsExcellent location with 24/7 shuttle service and a Bed that is perfect for a good nights sleepThe manager has done an exceptional job by the way things are ran at this property and the way the hotel looks 5/5 rating from me and I look forward to returning again!

Sarah McCanna

Our room’s linens and carpets had stains all over The remote for the TV wouldn’t work The bathtub drain was clogged so we had to shower in shin deep water and the grout was moldy

No exhaust fan in bathroom and room wouldn’t cool down even with the AC set to 66 so it was hot and muggy The alarm clock in the room went off at midnight on our first night The beds were uncomfortable and the fridge was full of freezer frost and barely kept our drinks cold This room needs some serious attention and maintenance for it to be a comfortable or pleasant place to stay The pool and hot tub were our saving gracebut then the hot tub was shut down after our first day there We were given a parking ticket that we had to get sorted out because it was their mistake Also know that AFTER you book your room, you’ll get an email letting you know that parking is an extra $30 PER DAY The housekeepers were all so sweet and had great manners The front desk staff seemed as though it was an inconvenience that they had to be at work It’s rather unfortunate because this hotel has so much potential If all you’re interested in is a nice fitness area, a pretty pool and a convenient location then book a stay! If you’re looking for a clean and comfortable room, look elsewhere

We booked this so we could be close to the airport for an early flight and what a pleasant surprise! Hard wood floors, very clean and modern bathroom, has fireplace and really comfy bed and pillows! Free continental breakfast the next day! I had my trepidations at first but really professionally run! Women at the front desk was friendly and very welcoming!

david johnston

I specifically called the hotel before booking to ask about parking and twice the receptionist told me that up to 10 days was included Of course she neglected to tell me it had to be booked a certain way So I ended up spending 100 more

My whole point staying there was to make it easier to catch an early flight and cover parking I never leave bad reviews unless it was really bad, but I did my part by calling and got something different in person I am not someone who thinks the customer is always right but the service here deserves a poor review There wasn’t even an attempt to compromise Just can’t recommend this type of behavior Also room was nice but it was loud , rooms don’t have much insulation Just a bummer to have conversations like thatAdd insult to injury the manager leaves some lame response like give us another try! Sorry buddy that’s not a credible sorry, just trying to make yourself look ok

Tara Newton-Bailey

Right before giving us our keys the hotel clerk forced me to sign a document that read the hotel hours and quiet hours, and that if we were found to be a disturbance, or selling or using drugs then we would be asked to leave without refund I believe they’re picking and choosing who they’re having sign this form, which is indicative to discrimination The hotel is not only outdated on the outside, but the inside is old, dark, dingy, and outdated

There is a mini refrigerator, yet no microwave inside nor outside the room The 2 bed Queen Suite is very, very spacious, and the rooms were clean The restaurant provides an amazing view of the ocean You need to make reservations to get good viewing seats The food and drinks were good, aside from the fish & chips smelling horrible and the bartender using his bare hands to smash mint leaves for my whiskey sour—that was a little gross considering that we’re in a pandemic The pool was acceptable and lukewarm The Jacuzzi wouldn’t turn on—we saw other guest in it the previous night, and it was working There’s absolutely no view that is worth viewing from the patios If you’re looking for a very nice getaway this is NOT the place, however, I’d highly recommend the restaurant!

Heather Thomas

My husband & I was put on the 2nd floor room 245 Upstairs was nonstop bouncing & feet moving the entire night leading into the next morning I called front desk 3:30am for it to stop

It did for about 10 minutes Sounded like an active daycare or gym No sleep at all & the pillows were half sinking type of pillows with a spring bed that’s very bouncy & uncomfortable! I had booked 2 nights however I called front desk early next morning & requested my Sunday reservation to be canceled Front desk made me call bookingcom to cancel They charged me $22200 total for one miserable night! Crown Plaza/ San Francisco airport took us in right away very early 11am check in and we have slept like babies on real pillows & comfortable king size bed for $17200 Our day plans were ruined for due to no sleep but thanks to Crown Plaza we will have a pleasant quiet night A nightmare experience please don’t book here if you want to sleep or if noise keeps you awake The walls are thin as paper! It’s not worth $100 bucks!

Vee Kot

Placed in an oceanfront king bed room #119, just like what we paid for Upon walking in, the smell was overpowering – cigarettes and vinegar Attempted to air out without any progress

Window also on the lowest floor, facing the public walkway with lack of actual privacy if we keep the door open to hear the ocean sounds Everything inside was dingyCalled to front desk to change rooms Was told upon first call that all was booked out, then were able to get #451 two Queens even though my husband and I needed a King So we slept together on a Queen Room smelled better however we were facing all the fans and looking straight out at the utilities of the hotelNote: there are some Remodeled rooms and some aren’tOverall, we made do with what we had and attempted to pep each other up However it was a dingy, older smelling hotel, and completely not the ocean type of experience we wanted Thanks for having us, we just won’t ever be returning to any Wyndhams Just book the Fairmont next door

From the comfy beds to the good breakfast and the kind staff! We came in to enjoy San Francisco as tourist The front desk was super helpful in suggesting things to check out and even offering the best ways to avoid costly parking downtownThe hotel itself was clean, had coffee and tea available all day and the rooms were great

They supplied extra pillows when asked The cups in the room were real glass not throw away paper ones- which was nice The breakfast was omelets, sausage, make your own waffles, yogurt and fruit The drinks included juice, tea, milk, coffee and filtered waterI would for sure recommended this hotel if your looking for a safe place away from the main downtown part of San Francisco or flying in

Great hotel, especially for Airline Commuting personnel Has a decent restaurant, however, only open for breakfast and dinner, not lunch There is a nice Diner next door, with primarily Asian food, or sandwiches for inexpensive dining in or takeaway

Hotel Staff are always accommodating If you have any issues during your stay, the staff respond immediately No 30 minute wait at this place to get something addressed! They are on it, right away! Convenient 30 minute shuttle 24 hrs to/from airport No laundromat, unfortunately Many hotels offer free or inexpensive washer/dryer accommodations, and I would love it if this hotel also offered, however, it is not offered

Erika Solomon

I hosted a family reunion here The space was great for all our events and space where we just hung out was comfortable and great The hotel staff were wonderful and friendly, bartender made good drinks

Rizsa in events was phenomenal! She was very responsive and helpful in planning throughout the year She worked with and accommodated all my needs related to my room block at a great room rate, staying within our determined budget, food selections by dietary needs, and meeting room set-up If she wasn’t available, other event staff were assets and assisted if needed I highly recommend this hotel for an event It is close to the airport and there it is across the street from the Bay that has a beautiful view and a place to walk along leisurely or for exercise

Denise Keefe

The airport shuttle was on time and comfortable The check in desk attendant was very positive and accommodating The hotel is comfortable and a great location in proximity to easy access to the airport and running paths

The room was clean and quiet The complimentary coffee in the lobby with large cups were greatly appreciated as was the delicious cookie on arrival I am making my next reservation here at the Doubletree, so I will be back this weekend

My family and I stay here every other month so it’s become sort of a home away from home Really happy to see the cooked to order breakfast is back Omelets and pancakes plus potatoes and sausage along with the normal American continental options

Would love to see some alternative meats offered (turkey or plant based sausage)If you can get a room with a view, it really is lovely I love the trail along the bay There are bikes for rental as wellThe pool wasn’t very clean on our last visit so that could use some regular attentionJulie at the front desk is a gem Airport shuttle is convenient

This property doesn’t want customers who can only stay one night I was traveling for business, I am a Hilton Honors member and was staying one night only as I had training nearby The hotel refused to book me for one night on a Thursday night! They gave me the run around telling me that they were fully booked

Then they finally admitted that they don’t make one night reservations Apparently that’s a hotel “policy” now Well, that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen from an Embassy Suites I’ll be taking my business to the Marriott down the street since they still value one night customers! By the way they have also changed their happy hour to 5-6:30 with only 2 drinks per customer We used to hold after training business meetings here and enjoyed the happy hour As responsible adults I think we all should be able to choose how many drinks we decide to have Very bad service from this Hilton property and I will never stay here again I know they don’t care that they’ve lost my business, but just a warning to others that if you need a one night stay you can forget it

The suite we had was great The hotel was easy to get in, and out It was also within a short distance to all the attractions that we wanted to get in this trip

The room was very clean, and a pretty good size The continental breakfast was very good The swimming pool, and the sauna seemed to be very busy, and the common areas were kept Although this property does not have a kitchen, or a full restaurant

The check in process was very seamless, and I was able to check in early The general aesthetic of the lobby was fresh and spunky The rooms were adequately designed in a rather stylishly simple, yet functional set up

The decor was modern and cute The beds were very comfortable The gym was decent , and served the purpose for a short stay There were lots of food and dining options with walking distance… the location was great The staff was very polite and helpful and rather accommodating The stay overall was wonderful

Clean, modern rooms and big lobby, standard size rooms with very nice bathrooms! Things to be known that weren’t issues for us whatsoever, but we didn’t realize when booking: no microwave in the room and there was just a shower (no tub) I’m sure the room description was clear about that but I didn’t make the booking so didn’t realize until arriving The staff were super friendly to me and my little kids, great parking and the pool added some fun for the kids

Kristen Kirksey

I had an excellent stay at Aloft Check in was fast The room was spacious and very clean

Decor is fun Less than 5 minutes to SFO Though I did not utilize the airport shuttle I saw it operating throughout the day and night The best part of my stay was enjoying the amenities, including games, couches, bar, and cafe in the inviting lobby space Pool and outdoor space were great too Right across the street from park where you can watch planes take off and land This is a great choice if you are traveling with kids like I was I will 100% stay again

Stayed here two nights a week ago using my Hilton honors points I was doing a road trip and decided to relax for a couple days The pool and spa were closed the whole time I was there

The rooms are very aged and need an update The channels on the TV were ancient The vent in the bathroom didn’t work so after my shower there were mold spots on the ceiling The beds were also super uncomfortable More uncomfortable than the platform bed I have in the back of my car The walls are very thin, I could hear people in the hallway and it felt like they were in the same room as meThe guest front desk had me standing there for a few minutes while she finished her paperwork until she acknowledged meOne star for the free parking and its location I preferred to stay a little further away from downtown SFI definitely wouldn’t stay here again if I’m being honest

Michael Mccranie

Was a clean place, my only gripe was I checked in online and set my check-in to 3 pm ( normal check-in time) I got there a little early waiting on digital key to pop up It said room wasn’t ready After waiting in the parking lot for about an hour, I went into the lobby at 2:45 pm

App said my room wasn’t ready Walked to the front desk to see an update, the front desk confirmed it wasn’t ready that it should take normally 15 min for room to be clean I waited for over an hour in the lobby and my room still wasn’t ready Finally I was offered a choice of another room Definitely not something you want to deal with when you have to check out at 3 am the next morning to catch a flight back to the East Coast

Greg Jackson

I’m a Hilton guy, it’s my go to and HGI is almost always great This one was tired 10 years ago 1 Elevator is down and from the tape on the sign, not the first time, no evening meal or even drink service, room is tired, not a single piece of art in the hallway, etc

no airport shuttle I can go on…It may be time to invest in some refurbishment or maybe better yet, sell it It would be a good addition to the Motel6 portfolioHighlights: breakfast was good though no buffet

We hosted our wedding here with Nancy as our wedding planner and it was incredible I cannot recommend it enough They are the best wedding organizers I could have asked for!Amazing venue, kind attentive staff, and even if the weather turns there is a terrific backup plan! The guests loved the rooms

I was worried about the fog horn sound but no guests complained of itThe lofts don’t hear any fog horn sound I hear It’s subtle and there is a noise conditioner for you if needed My new husband had no problem sleeping (and we were not drunk after the wedding)If you are thinking about holding your wedding here- this is an AMAZING place with AMAZING people Nancy and Jen are queens of weddings Nancy was so attentive and accommodating Jen did my friend’s wedding here the same month and they said it was equally wonderfulThank you Nancy for your amazing skills and being there for us- Your work & vision made our wedding so wonderful!

Had our wedding here late 2021 and it was amazing! Worked mostly with Nancy and she was everything we could ask for from a planner, no need to hire your own Venue itself is great, lots of parking, food was good, everything went smoothly on their end day of As you can see from pictures, it’s at a beautiful location with lots of places you can take pictures

Would highly recommend

Stayed overnight for a weddingRooms were ugly as sin (just not our taste), but in general everything worked Bed was comfy, bathroom all functioning, balcony was nice, TV was available

Navigating from the parking garage to your room in the hotel is a maze, and the room barely mitigates any noise being made from within the hotel (we could hear people leaving the elevator/chatting in the hotel promenade)I guess if you wanted to see Half Moon Bay this would be the nicest hotel to stay at (it was perfect for the wedding), but personally we found that the price was beyond what the say was worth

Great rooms, good breakfast, Terrible front desk reception Darnell made us wait for 30 minutes s to check in I had only two choices

Not check in and get charged, or wait for Marriott website to go back online We will never go back Instead of eating hot food that we got from takeout, I am waiting for front desk to print out forms which took him three times He has NO EMPATHY at all for our familyI get that we had an outdated form, but we only were given 2 options Cancel the reservation and pay full price or hang out in the lobby with the family in the car to get an updated form I did not have the option of paying full price for the room and staying there even though I would be charged full price but not be able to stay the night On the expired form there is a code that the hotel could have verified if they had any empathy, but as you can see from the owner’s response they still do not understand what was the issue

So I want to start by saying I’m a Titanium Elite member and have stayed in countless Marriotts all over the country The SpringHill Suites by Marriott Belmont Redwood Shores was the absolute worst They claim to be “pet friendly” but that’s only towards dogs not cats

I called the Elite reservation line to book a 4 night stay, 1 night with points The hotel is “pet friendly” and I made sure to tell the representative that I had a cat Everything is booked and I prepaid for the nights stay After I got off the phone I called the hotel directly and spoke with someone (I believe her name was Julia) to make sure that I had a “pet friendly” room reserved for my cat, no problem Then I drive from Washington state to California I start checking in and for some reason they’re having problems with my reservation since one night is with points and the other three were prepaid Then they are getting ready to give me the pet form to fill out and I mention my cat They say we take dogs only! I tell them this has all be confirmed with the Marriott Elite reservation line and I had called the hotel myself They continue to say no cats, my cat is a 4lb Persian that has a lion haircut (mostly shaved) Then the manager Ben Lawson is called and he says “no cats in my hotel because they’re more allergenic then dogs” I have never heard of such a thing A pet friendly hotel is a pet friendly hotel You can bring cats on planes so I’m not sure what this was all about but I felt very discriminated against and it was embarrassing that I was being turned away I was so tired after my long drive and now I’m being forced to find a different hotel After staying in over a thousand nights in Marriott hotels the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Belmont Redwood Shores really disappointed

This hotel refuses to help in any way should circumstances out of your control put you in a position where you can no longer travel I came down with COVID the day I was supposed to travel The receptionist refused to allow me to alter my booking in any way

This was for required work travel and I just asked to shift the booking to a future date They offered no remedy and charged me full price I will never stay here ever, and I suggest those who read this review do the same

I stayed here at the last minute since a previous stay somewhere else was canceled It was my birthday The front desk lady was Awesome

She gave me good directions since my Google maps app was being stupid All went well till I got to my room Upon opening the door to the room it SMELLED LIKE NASTY WET CARPET/ MOLD!!! You can tell by the smell it was rank No point in complaining at the time was just happy to find a room available at the last minute Also the heater didn’t work, no extra blankets in the room either The room was clean and quiet I had brought my own blanket and glad I did I had stayed here along time ago and I loved it each time But this time not happy about the smell The place looks older, carpet doesn’t look clean The place looks run down once you walk away from the front desk It just didn’t have that shiny glow I was used to seeing from the past I did get some much needed rest Check in and out was very easy Not sure if I will stay here again But if I do I will request a different room if mine is not up to par I was really surprised and disappointed with Holiday Inn Express South this time I hope they can read this review and do better with letting you stay in a stinky room with a horrible smelling carpet You couldn’t miss the smell so whoever cleaned the room should’ve said something prior to leaving it open for someone to come in to stay I love Holiday Inn Express Hotels just not this stay this time Once again Thank You to the front desk young lady I met the night I showed up You keep up that smile and positive attitude 🙂💯

Mike Merkel (Shark Bytes)

I had a room facing the bay Although the view was better than most hotels I stay at, there seemed to be people hanging out in the parking lot that did not belong at the hotel The smell of pot was always present outside the hotel at night on the bay side

I would have liked to have my window open for fresh ocean air, but that skunky smell was ever present for 5 days The room was clean and staff pleasant Beds were a bit firmer than I like, but, not to an extreme I was shocked at the water volume in the showers Usually in California the showers are restricted to a trickle, but these were gloriously generous with water flow 👍 I will come back here on my next business trip to SF

I stayed here to pick up family traveling to the area Originally the room was booked through the website and when my family had their flight delayed I attempted to change the reservation Even though I could not stay both nights, I was refused a change of reservation or refund and was spoken to rudely when I inquired about a possible refund

When I spoke to the front desk the morning of my stay, I was promised a roll away bed was available for our room, but was refused a bed due to fire code regulations The manager assured me that everyone there knew the policy, and refused to make any accommodations to make up for their mistake We had to purchase an air mattress or sleep on the floor the air mattress ended up being softer than the beds Great location Terrible customer service
