The hotel was very clean and nice but the bathroom doors are not the best choice They are barn doors but are adjusted poorly consistently throughout the hotel There is a half inch Gap near the front door of the room leading to the hallway where someone in the hallway could look straight into the bathroom if the room door was open

Also, a lot of light leaks around the door as does noise The breakfast was equal or better than average for similar hotels and the lobby was very nice with lots of areas to sit and socialize

Nice amenities, especially the beds, but the structure is a resonance chamber If you’re not on the top floor, you’ll be subject to every footfall/impact noise possible from above; the noise transmission is intolerableI requested a top-floor room, weeks in advance

My request was ignored; got a 1st floor room, directly underneath a room containing an out-of -control, loudmouth kid who seemed to delight in drumming on the wall and stomping their steps I demanded a different room, and got one, on the top floor, after making it clear to the staff I would not stay under such conditions and would dispute any chargeMy satisfaction with this action lasted only a few minutesUpon returning to my new room, I checked my bank card balance, and was disgustedMy card was charged 20%(!) over and above the total price quoted to me through Bookingcom At NO point during the booking nor check-in process was it ever disclosed that a vague, potentially broadly-defined “incidentals fee” would be added to my “Total Price”After my companion and I confronted the front desk clerk about this, we were told the fee would be refunded in the morning They said it was ‘in case we cause any damage to the room’ Really?? A middle-aged couple, (one partly handicapped) are a damage risk? How insulting!!So, I started an inspection of the room for anything that could be construed as ‘damage’ Guess what I found? See photosMy instincts are screaming that ‘bait-and-switch’ business practices may be at work here Personally, this experience was so aggravating I might think twice re Hampton Inn againIf you decide to stay here, be sure to check your charges right away; many folks don’t I suspect an unchallenged charge here may suggest a charge accepted Don’t fall for thisUpdate 5/31: Got refunded the surcharge as promised, but the lack of disclosure before/after the charge is still an issue that needs to be better handled/communicated One star back for the timely refund

Gentleman at the front desk was welcoming, friendly and informative about the area The hotel was spotless, the room super clean, beds were comfortable, extra linens provided promptly upon request and breakfast was excellent Conveniently located right off the interstate

We will be traveling through the area again in September and we will definitely stay here for an overnight stop!

Lacy Cygan

Hotel staff was less than helpful Never told us what time breakfast ran until, and we were 20 minutes too late, so my kids (one of them is disabled) and I had to wait hours until my husband was done working to go get real food besides Cheez-its and snacks Like they couldn’t have hooked us up with some fruit or toast or something easy

Pool was cold and had bugs floating in it Hot tub was warm at best Bathroom floor was sticky Dresser in the room had something splashed on it Duvets aren’t secured so be prepared to have a lumpy mess of a comforter

My partner and I were looking to have a more private experience for our anniversary and we were able to do just that here! We enjoyed the complimentary happy hour sitting in a beautiful little area outside and walked down the street for dinner at Happy Hollow til we returned to our beautiful Grand Suite and HUGE whirlpool tub This is so close to our house but it felt like we really were on a little vacation We may have to make this our yearly anniversary spot 🙂 thank you for a great stay!

I cannot say enough good things about this place It’s like a little slice of heaven I wish I could have stayed forever truly

I will say bring a fan if you don’t want to sleep with the ac running It got super warm in our top floor room Other than that breakfast was incredible, cleanliness was perfect, the bed was soooo big and comfy and the jacuzzi takes a long time to fill but not much you can do about that haha it was great too! You can tell the owners really care They are lovely and I will be back on my next vacation for sure Wish they had better signage/instructions though for if u can use the kitchen, piano, and if you can have drinks from the fridge Those parts were a little confusing but no big deal

Bj Guderian

We had a lovely time (choosing the right partner-in-crime is key!) The whirlpool tub in the Grand Suite is GIGANTIC! Unfortunately, the property is a little run down (plastic flowers, walkway lights knocked over, some gouges in the wallpaper, and a tile near the whirlpool tub that needed attention) And while we absolutely LOVE Tater Tots, we thought it an odd companion to the eggs benedict we had for breakfast

Needs a little help, but I wouldn’t rule out going again

The room was fine, staff was nice But the pool was closed an entire day, and I have an 18 month old We booked only because if the splash pad

Which we couldn’t use Also they “didn’t have” double tubes so my older niece and I couldn’t use the bigger slid They also wouldn’t allow me to hold my little one on my lap to go down the smaller slide even with the kiddie pool being closer So we literally had nothing for the whole day Asked for action city passes to compensate and was told no And was not given any resort fees back Very frustrating, as we wouldn’t have stayed the extra night for the pool had it been closed Also no one informed us of this, we just found out when we went down to the pool

Awesome! figuring out a la cart v hourly pass was a challenge with a 4 and 6 year old depends on the kids go carts for 3hrs – do the pass

Any way you slice it, you’re burning threw a few bucks so go with it and have funGreat crew, lots of fun +1 on chuck e cheese

Tatyana Visser

Rooms are okay, kind of dated but clean I’m not sure who’s bright idea was to cover the bottoms of the beds with sheet metal, but if you kick it by accident it makes very loud sound The kid in the neighbor room was kicking it all evening

The water park was good, but also need some renovations The tall slide was very bumpy The kids zero depth play area was filled with iced water When we noted it to a staff member, she said her manager made a mistake

The Holiday Inn Express we would normally stay at (for its breakfast) was booked up due to four weddingsWe searched for more hotels along our route north and discovered this family owned motel It was late and they were 10 minutes away and had a very economical room for two

They don’t do AAA discounts and didn’t have breakfast, but they handed us breakfast bars/snacks and there was coffee and a refrig and microwave in the roomIts a one story motel and you park in front of your roomThe room and bathroom were clean and the bed comfy and we slept well The coffee and breakfast snacks while sitting at the table in the room were just right before the 11am checkoutHighly recommend and we would stay there again to support the local business

Susan Hoffman

Very cute lil local motel All the rooms have their own individual flavor and decor- it feels like staying at your grandmas house, in a good way 🙂 Front desk was courteous, the rooms very neat and everything was immaculately clean

I have been to luxury hotels that don’t clean this well, and it is convenient to the cute downtown of Chippewa Falls I definitely recommend a stay here

We’ve been coming to the Oxbow for years but our most recent stay has us wondering if there’s a better hotel for the money we spent for two nights here It seems like some of the initial shine has started to fade – the rooms are starting to show some wear, especially in the shower area The air conditioner was pretty weak and even with it turned all the way to 61 the room still got warm during the night

The french press delivery we used to love getting in the mornings was “not available” per the front desk during our stay, despite it being mentioned at check in as an amenity Finally, the record collection that was so novel and fun a few years ago seems like it hasn’t been updated since the hotel opened – we hope to find something new and interesting every year and are surprised to see the exact same options each time Overall still a great hotel in a good location, but for the price we paid it didn’t feel like we got our money’s worth this time

Andrea Charrier

As advertised! Every single person working there was friendly and helpful Comfortable, clean rooms with a hip vibe Record player and vinyl to borrow

Live music, but not too loud to be a bother in your room Comfy bed with good linens Hot shower with tons of water pressure Supports artists and pays staff living wageor at least in the restaurant they say they do More than happy to stay here again!

Review for Feb 28/Mar 1 2022 for stay in room 517 The good The place had nice décor, was very clean throughout, and the bed was super comfy

The staff was friendly The place is trendy, but that is not really my scene I did not care for the mandatory mask policy for all, no matter what your vaccination status was Not sure what drove that, maybe it was city wide The bad Things were going great until I was awakened at 4:15 am by what can only be described as a “coffee grinder” noise It was was not continuous, but happened frequently I turned on the AC/Heat fan and that had a rattle/vibration I was able to determine it was the removable screens, so I removed them They were dirty and needed cleaned, but at least the noise stopped With the help of the fan and the TV, I was able to drown out the coffee grinder noise and get back to sleep an hour or so later Once up, I noticed the shower head needed cleaned, as the nozzles are plugged The water sprays in different directions and not at full flow I would not recommend eating at the hotel restaurant, the Informalist The server was attentive, but the trendy food is overpriced and the rib I ordered had zero flavor Their hamburger actually had more meat For $55 plus tax and tip, I had a small salad (blah), one sour beer (also blah, but not their fault) and that one small rib I am fine with the price, but I want a decent portion and good flavor I went to another local place for breakfast and found good tasting food at a reasonable price Oh, I also had a $15 food credit for being a gold member The gal at the front desk said to let the server know I did He said nothing he could do, that I needed to talk to the front desk No one mentioned that I needed to charge my bill to my room, then the hotel would credit me the $15 on the hotel bill Not a huge deal, but it just made the experience that much worse Next time I will try the Home 2 on the south side My co-worker agreed

Kurt Mueller

The Lismore is truly “Best in Class” We booked our daughter’s wedding at the Lismore We stayed three nights and had over 35 rooms booked for the reception

The front desk staff, which is managed by Patrick was very professional, courteous and accommodating Heidi is the hidden jewel of the staff The wedding and sales department under the direction of Rosey and Wes clearly exceeded our expectations, clearly over delivering on them The food for the reception and served in the In-formalist was excellent! Make sure to stop by the Dive Bar to end your day! This is clearly the best experience I have ever had!

I would have given this a much higher rating if it were not for the general manager of this hotel Upon check in as part of the Marriott Ambassador program, I requested our guaranteed late check out of 3 pm Imagine my shock when I received a phone call at 11:30 telling us we did not have late check out and would need to leave or pay for another night

Explained the situation and he hung up on me At noon I had to be on my laptop for a company presentation I could not log on to my laptop, I went downstairs to be notified that our late check out did not give us the right to use Marriott’s internet and he had shut it offno words completely shocked, as 98% of my stays with Marriott brands have been fantastic This was just wrong and petty This should not be a reflection on Marriott, but rather a complaint against a general manager that does not know what custom service is

Brittney Kromm

Would of been a great stay if it Wasn’t for the disgusting service I got from the general Manager of this hotel He had not only accused me of smoking in my room with my 2 small children but had said the smell was so bad they couldn’t rent it out for a whole another day After trying to discuss this with him he had hung up the phone on my boyfriend twice

Once in which he was just calling back to ask a question Then I had called to ask who we complain to he had said NO ONE He then later said I could call corporate and I told him he lied he then hung up on me The general manager hung the phone up Its honestly the most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with and the company should be ashamed

I had to give this hotel a 5 star because of how well this place was managed When I first walked in the place was nice and clean and their staff were friendly and made sure every question and concerns you had were answered They made sure all their hotel guest know that there were going to be a childern birthday party so it made us feel more comfortable and unworried

The pool was a bit small and there was no hot tub but the kids had a blast! For their breakfast I wish they had a bit more selections such as beacon, eggs but that was okay because they had an awesome easy pancake maker 🙂

Stayed on blues festival weekend Rooms were over double in cost Free breakfast was awful

They should have paid you to eat it Got charged $26 three times in one day for what no one at the reception counter could explain The best the rude young girl could say was read the sign and pointed at a plaque on the wall never looking me in the eyes Hotel so so are far as clean, that’s the highlight…

Alperen ILHAN

For what you pay, you don’t get much at all You get an empty fridge and water for 4$ You can’t even call that a breakfast

They ran out of regular half and half and when I asked for more they simply said no You should have creamer if you want to charge people 200$ a night We have found lots of Airbnbs half this price Also, this hotel doesn’t really have a pool I’d say its more of a tub then a pool Not worth the priceNote: I am a world traveller and stayed in many hotels & Airbnbs

Young and old, each person we met “grew up” coming to Mallard resort The float up bar is a great addition to the quiet family centered resort The slips are nice and safeThe fishing was excellent!! I had high hopes The first night was fine Then the ac from the room above us started to drip on ours, making that drip drip sound

I had my son fold a towel and stick it outside Also the floor in our room became wet Our last night there someone decided to smoke pot and fill the halls Also the 3 rd shift desk person, was rude to my kids He told them the lobby was not to be sitting in they were sitting and playing game if needed they would of moved and when I had my son go down to exchange the beer coupon for water he was told no I had to come down when I called the desk person knew exactly what I was asking so no he wasnt asking for alcohol If there was a problem with the kids why wasn’t I notified The staff saw me walking around them They knew he was in the same room My other reviews have nothing to do with your review As I said before the day staff and breakfast were great

I didn’t actually stay All I did was try to ask a question about a long term stay and was abruptly cut off by Marilyn who stated they are a “bed & breakfast” and they don’t have long term rates Which is fine, but she didn’t even let me apologize or say goodbye, just an annoying reply and *click*

If that’s how their customer service is, I wouldn’t stay a second let alone long term
