The only good thing about here is the pool area For what you pay, the rooms are not a good size The air conditioner was absolutely horrible (was not just our room, I spoke with others as well)

The room never got cool/cold at any point during our stay There was no garbage can besides the small one in the bathroom There was no closet for storage/clothes Parking spaces were fairly tight for modern vehicles You also put a “resort and incident” fee at check in, which In my opinion, is just a money hungry tactic You pay so much to stay at this “resort”, the fee should be included and if myself (not my guest) cause an “incident” that portion of the fee should be returned There is no reason I’d return here, I can find a nice pool else where Other surrounding places have a decent pool with nicer accommodations

Kevin Hogan

We just returned home yesterday We stayed in room 6225 The room size for us was good, but the air conditioning must be repaired for us to stay there again

there are many pluses to the place the grounds the pool the beach across the street The house keeping group was great very friendly and helpful as was the rest of the staff The elevator broke down two days in a row but did get repair I like the fact they have Veteran parking spots 2 per building a nice touch Our grandkids loved the pool area Very family friendly resort There needs to be more drawers for your cloths There was only 3 small drawers in our room

A. E.

Pros: Beautiful hotel grounds Lobby and public areas fairly clean, despite many guests Pool area was fun, even for our 14 y/o daughter, who was older than most of the kids there

Cons: Rooms very overwhelming with air freshener Ceiling a/c vent was full of black mold Shower and toilet had not been cleaned, or at least cleaned well, as there were many child-sized hand prints and sticky goo all over One of the beds had a URINE SOAKED mattress, and the smell was overwhelming We could not get another room, because there were none available, and ended up buying a comforter at Walmart, and sleeping on top of the hotel bedding to tough out our stay of two nights I understand that many kids stay here, but it was still disgusting When I informed the desk clerk upon checkout, all she could say was “I’m sorry” 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pleasantly surprised by this place I’ve stayed in many hotels in the $60 to $90 price range and have come to not expect much

they nearly all have rooms that were either dirty, smelly or in disrepair and you can never really feel comfortable in them This place is well kept and they do their best for its age The breakfast setup was good and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful

Derek Crosby

Stayed here for a a few days and ended up having to prolong the stay for quarantine reasons The staff and housekeeping were kind, patient, helpful, and incredibly accommodating, and ensured we felt as comfortable as we could given the circumstances Very grateful for the whole staff, and I would certainly recommend this place to anyone passing through Columbus

Great breakfast, too!

Staying here was like traveling back to 1980, if you want the smelly mold & mildew experience, you picked the right place As soon as I opened our room door , I was over come with the smell of a damp moldy & mildew smell I went down to the front desk and asked the woman , how old was this hotel, she told me 20 years old , huummmmmm , I’m guessing from 1980

If I Hadden pre-paid on Travelocity, I would have gone elsewhere So the moral to my review, you get what you pay for I wish I paid more to stay in a modern placeThe room was dark needed more light , the backroom was again very out dated The tub & showers ceiling was a total mess , not painted completely or who ever painted it didnt give two rats a$$es The was what looked like blood stain on the wall in the bathroom by the light swtchStain on the bed cover , the room out dated The hallway out dated , elevator alsoStay at your own risk

Beautiful scenery inside and out The staff was very knowledgeable and nice Loved the fact that all amenities needed are at one location

From the bar, tasty menu, to the pool, to a beautiful room, steamy hot shower and comfy bed; definitely was a vibe! The pool needs a cooling element and more chlorine Definitely will be back Book here!

Wendy Jackson

As a travel agent i have stayed at many hotels the last few years and this one is one of my families favorites Sheraton and Marriott really did a great job on this place The Sheraton has a modern style look, the rooms were immaculate, beds were comfy and the lazy river was so much fun

It was a nice place to stop and break up a long ride home The staff were very friendly and helpful If we had more time I would definitely stay longer!

Pammie

Very friendly staff Loved the modern and spacious room Very clean and the bed was so comfortable! Much better than the Hilton

The only reason I didn’t give it five stars because our room was near the elevator and was a little noisy when I was trying to sleep, but thank goodness I ALWAYS travel with ear plugs Oh, the breakfast was good too!

Really nice non casino hotel Drove down to meet friends and wanted to avoid noise and smoke of other hotels First of all I made a mistake when I booked and the booking staff when out of her way to help me correct

I appreciate that Hotel opened 8/2021 so nice and new There is a very pleasing fragrance every where Beds are nice and everything is spotless Very nice pool Rooms are big and pleasing We enjoyed our stay Will come againA little edit Hit the pool this morning it’s big, fun for adults and kids Got a large water side and activities for kids

John B Barrett

My wife and I just recently spent a couple of days at this hotel and what a refreshing change it was We found the room to be very nice, the staff were very friendly, courteous and professional The centerpiece of the flag pole and dancing water accompanied by the lights was an added touch

The pool was very nice and also had an ample no of lifeguardsThe only negative comments I have is I think it’s time to change the American Flag It needs to be retired when it is frayed, as it was this past weekend Hopefully you’ll have a new one for all to see this Memorial day weekendI will be recommending your facility to friends and family

Blake Houston

Staying at Centennial Plaza has become a summer tradition for our family The staff is hospitable and helpful, and the water park is amazing We spend all day hanging out at the large splash area & lazy river

The swim-up bar takes lunch orders, so it’s very convenient when you’re looking to stay all day at the water parkThis place is a must-visit for any Gulf Coast family!

Kim Brown

Room and amenities were great The view was wonderful Great pool area and wonderful access to the beach

The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is the continental breakfast It was lacking For the price I would like to have seen waffles, breakfast meats, something with sustenanceOther than that this place was amazing Staff is super friendly and fixed our reservation error ( not their error) quickly

Leila Adkins

I would give this hotel 45 stars if I could The staff was extremely nice! Some of the nicest I’ve met at any hotel

The hotel was very clean, smelled great and was in a perfect location The room was a great size and we enjoyed the view They also have a bar area you can sit at and enjoy music on the weekends They do have a pool but we did not go to it because it was kinda small and there was a lot of people there Since the hotel is on the beach, the pool didn’t really matterThe only things I did not like was the bathroom door was broken and the breakfast is no longer a real, hot breakfast It is muffins, bagels and cereal Having myself, my husband and our two sons in one room, a working bathroom door is necessary I can understand the breakfast being changed though with all of the restaurants that have popped up around the hotel What they did offer worked for us but we were expecting an actual breakfast so that was a little disappointingWe would definitely stay here again!

Jessica

Hotel was great Great view and loved our room Staff was super nice

BUT, whoever the lady is who PROTECTS the breakfast is awful She watched over our shoulder, couldn’t pour our own milk, and while making my coffee I had my items on the counter and she’s yelling at me I need to clean it I haven’t even moved yet She is absolutely awful and will probably be the reason I couldn’t ever come back Hotel would be AMAZING if she didn’t work there

Elizabeth Scruggs

The lobby and meeting area is beautiful and modern The room not so much It was clean and in good repair but you could tell the age of the hotel

The ac/heater was VERY loud and sounded as if it was on its last leg The bathroom was tiny and the mattress was not what we generally I’m experience in our Marriott stays I had wanted to stay here near the harbour for a long time now and I am so glad I did not pay summer prices for it Not horrible just not what I have come to expect from my Marriott stays

Michael Crain

Every staff member we met was a friendly personality with an aptitude the service Thank youFacility itself is in good shape with a uncommonly huge pool

Everybody loved itThe rooms were OK Although the air conditioning units produce a massive amount of water on the carpet with the humidity outside It felt like half the room you had to walk barefoot to keep from soaking your socksAlso there were items left in the room from the previous guest As in two coolers food, and socks

Mary Kelley

The view is great and the rooms are clean The beds are flat and felt like they needed to be replaced a few years ago The a/c unit is loud, but it works so the room stayed nice and cool

The service is friendly and attentive I’d give them 5 stars if they had a better bed As someone who travels often, a good mattress in a hotel is a big deal!

Nice, friendly staff Table dealers are great at helping you learn new games if your go-to game table is full Beautiful decor making you feel like you’re in a nice atmosphere

I’ve been to this location a few times & win or lose, I always leave happy from a good time! My only negative is the buffet was changed to a different restaurant & it was absolutely horrible service & the food was not even sub par I don’t mind paying good money for good food but it’s a little upsetting to pay good money for bad food plus horrible service We didn’t let it ruin our trip, though We just ate somewhere else the next meal

French Frys

The rooms are absolutely gorgeous However, the hotel rooms did not have a microwave I was like you mean to tell me that the room has a fridge, 3 TVs, c- shape sofa, nice chair, and more, But no microwave

It’s almost like you are being forced to eat the Not So Tasty food I ended up eating my cold shrimp pasta I brought with me prior to checking in The customer service was super awesome

Kathy Wooley

The room was nice and spacious Every employee we came into contact with was courteous and helpful It looks as if the resort used to be a very nice place

It seems rundown now It should have been a sign when we arrived and the parking lot was almost empty and there wasn’t even anyone working valet Most of the restaurants were closed and the food available was only sub par One of the smallest casino floors we have visited

Rooms are comfortable but cleaning staff was short handed I checked in around 6pm

only to find out my room wasn’t the one assigned during online check in and the new room wasn’t quite ready I was patient as the house keeper told me she was working overtime due to the shortage My room wasn’t cleaned the last day when I returned even though they said it was daily housekeeping

VinTam01

Liked · The location was great There was plenty of food and restaurants nearby The hotel is also close to the hwy

Disliked · We had a 3 night stay The room had an old musty, not so thoroughly clean feel The sheets were flipped over, reused perhaps? There were stains on the carpet Clothes closet was stinky Dresser drawer wouldn’t close There was no microwave in the room (even though an in-room microwave was advertised on the site) The ice machine was broken on our floor and the hotel was super crowded by other guests sitting in the hallway floors everyday of our visit blocking traffic without the manager/host intervention We also asked for cleaning service and fresh towels one day of our stay; but that was also not provided Bathroom wasn’t thoroughly clean either and a hole was in the bathroom wallI’ve stayed at MANY Hyatt hotels before and my previous experiences influenced my decision (along with the online reviews) to stay here again; but I must say that this stay left a horrible taste in my mouth and I will hesitate before staying at a Hyatt again

Denise J

No housekeeping We had to hunt down toilet tissue and towels Confronted management/housekeepers and they were very rude about it

This is a wonderful place for a family vacation Our room was very clean, the staff were so friendly, and the drinks were delicious! The arcade was really cool and the pool was amazing! There’s something for everyone in the family at this place It was also nice having a balcony to sit on overlooking the water and watching the dolphins catch fish in the marina; not something you get to see everyday! I’m definitely looking forward to going back

Such a great location and the room had an amazing ocean view! I loved waking up every morning and opening the curtains The outlets are not that far away along with other stores! 100% recommended Breakfast was the standard waffles, pastries, scrambled eggs, and toast

However, bottled water was free all day, which made me very happy! Service was amazing! I took very early flights and was extremely tired I called to see if I can check in early and they said yes without hesitation I was so grateful!

We appreciated the free parking when we arrived Check-in was fine You have use the bell service to use the luggage cart which just means you need to tip someone to do something you are perfectly capable of doing yourself

The rooms were VERY dated Our room faced a parking lot, but we were only there for 2 days so not a big deal No security using the elevator which is usual at a casino hotel There is no daily room service, but there is an envelope to leave a tip for …well, I’m not sure what since we made our own bed every day The phone in the room did not work, so we were unable to call down to the front desk or request bell service when we left We finally just used our cell phones to make a request They met our expectations of cleanliness and comfort The room was quiet and we got a good nights sleep I recommend this hotel if you are just there for the casino, but if you are sightseeing it’s not near much

This should be read with a somewhat understanding of the current labor shortageHotel is in need of some serious upkeep Rooms felt uncleaned and were very cramped for space

Sheets were worn and frayed, but the bed was overall comfortable and smelled cleaned Very dim lighted bathroomCasino was quite the let down Dealers were nice and pit bosses were easy going, for the most part That being said, if you’re looking for 24/7 gaming action, you will be in for a let down Not only did they only have 1 table open per game, they also shut down card games after 1am Slot action was decent but with limited options and play levels Additionally, if you fancy liquid refreshments of any kind while you play, you might want to bring your own beverages While the wait staff was very friendly, they were severely short-staffed and spread quite thinAll in all, if you just want a bed and a daytime place to try your luck, this is not a bad place for the priceAlso, it seems fair to say that this area has been hit pretty hard by the economic and atmospheric storms over the years and does appear to be in “rebuild” phase

The hotel is in a great location The rooms are well kept There is not a microwave or refrigerator in the rooms, however you can rent one for 10

00 a day Towels are available upon request The meals at the mix and mingle were very good, however again you pay for those yourself The slots are very tight, so gamble accordingly The staff is very attentive and helpful The pool area is very nice and well kept, except for the long tubing which cost 900 each Again use common sense

Overall the experience was fair It was extremely busy and the front desk was pleasant and helpful The room was decent

The carpet was stained and the refrigerator was not working The air conditioning seemed to be off in the common areas – hallways, elevators which is never good in July The cost of the room seemed to be a bit higher but I figured that was the due to the last minute booking of the room I would probably not stay at this particular Hilton again since there are better, less expensive options near by

Jymari Al Fatah

The hotel is quite dated and could use some modernization Service was excellent and typical of southern hospitalityThe air-conditioner had a mold smell to it

Hand soap wasn’t included in the rooms The location right of the interstate is ideal Over all it was an okay stay I personally wouldn’t stay at this particular location

All of the employees at this hotel were helpful and polite I misread the sleeping accommodations for the room that I booked and we were immediately switched to another room The new room had minor maintenance issues – the TV would not work and one of the plugs was blocked, and we were again offered another room on the spot

Breakfast was a very generous offering, with the bacon and sausage and gravy being the standouts! Cookies or popcorn were available in the afternoons, as well as a few packaged snacks and water It is rare to see that at a hotel nowadays The pool is maintained well, and my only real complaint was the lack of towels at the pool Not a big deal, as we had our own towels but it is nice to not have to travel with wet towels

I was there for 11 nights At the time they were transitioning managers So for most of my stay I’d rate it 1 star- yeah it was that bad! However, the new General Manager has started and asked about my stay

So I told him everything When I got back that evening from work I had a very nice letter and a small gift That gesture, plus during our conversation he stated he cared and wanted to get the hotel back on track has made me change my thinking He already started to correct the issues I told him about So in fairness I won’t rate this hotel low star, honest effort was made to rectify the hotel situation

Beware: Lock up your vehicles, toolboxes etc, we had several thousand dollars in tools stolen from will lit area of parking lot from truck bed and tool box a week ago, just to be told by front desk morning staff, this wasn’t uncommon and no signs warning now security cameras!Second visit in town, unfortunately we’re here for another week, already paid, greeted by early day shift whom were rude, unhelpful, and off put by asking for a 230 check in, even though we’re titanium elite members just days away from ambassador, the attitude was inexcusable!! No communication to next shift, although after contacting second shift, we were mysteriously checked in (which I had done online previously)and room was ready, when we get to room, ITS DIRTY, smells like body odor and mildew, with beer cans everywhere! I absolutely expected better! Finally at 4:25pm we received a room that was actually vacant and clean!Suite rooms are great, (when clean) comfy beds, linens and pillows, and spacious shower! Evening and night staff have been gracious, kind, and accommodating, just poor communication between shifts leads to poor customer service!Bottom line, if vehicle security or customer service matters to you, think twice before staying here! I’ve left a one star review because of those issues!
