Nice hotel That staff was friendly and welcoming Bartender for the evening reception is great

Guy that made my omelette in the morning was wonderful Make sure you tip those people when you’re staying here My only complaint is it’s starting to show it’s age Needs a little TLC and updating in the rooms Room was pretty clean, could have been better though If I’m in the area for the right price I would stay here again

They charged my account $75 for a registered service animal that has documentation They violated the ADA, American disability Act They say they don’t see the difference between a pet and a service animal

I reported them to Hilton and will report them with the Agency They can’t make there own rules as they go along They claim they charge the fee for cleaning Just to give you some insight, the room they initially gave us was smelly and disgusting The second room where we ended up staying was dirty, we ended up doing a thorough clean and disinfect Shower was grotesque, both phones did not work, only 1 remote for 2 tvs in different areas We stayed 6 full days and housekeeping NEVER cleaned our room It’s funny to me that they want to charge a fee when we dealt with all these things, truly ridiculous They must be really hard up for money if they are discriminating against people with disabilities and disregarding the law

Doug Dawson

I was really disappointed in this location Front desk customer service was just not there No smiles

First night, the woman behind the counter was on her phone and didn’t acknowledge me when I was looking for the convenience shop When I showed up another day, a different woman was on a smoke break out front and I had to wait We checked out early because of all the box elder bugs in our room The room was not in great shape either There was a lot of wear and tear Terrible experience for the price

Rooms are ok Staff is great Surrounding area is perpetually filled with homeless and random people that blast music and harass pedestrians

We stayed here for a week and the women in our group didn’t feel comfortable walking back alone… and I don’t blame them considering I wouldn’t have felt safe walking alone either, especially dressed in business attire

Ghazanfar “GJ” Abidi

Spacious and clean room King bed was enough for 2 adults and 2 kids (laying perpendicular); didn’t even use the sofa bed Kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with cutlery and appliances

Thermostat was stuck on 67f, so it got a bit chilly at nightGood location downtown Could walk to most places we were there forThe parking lot to use is the La Salle lot, not Bancorp

Horrible experience Heat went out first night No space heaters and had to wait late into the morning for a fix blowing cold air all night in the middle of winter

Told wrong times on breakfast Then showed up 15 mins before close next morning and said nothing left One staff member in particular was incredibly rude I left 2 stars because they have nice city views from the rooms It’s not worth being there though you’re in one of the more dangerous areas of the city, trust me Plus my dead bolt lock didn’t work on my room They didnt care about any of it and then charged me extra cleaning fees when I didnt even get the check out time advertised I feel like I’ve been scammed and it felt like a dirty cheap motel Marriott should drop this dump from their name I’ve been to dozens of different hotels and this is one of the worst in the city Go to Marriott City Center a few blocks down instead if you really want to be in that area, or if you need the full kitchen go to Marriott TownePlace Suites in North Loop Avoid this place, you’re welcome

I was a participant in a three day seminar at this hotel, and found it exceptional- every member of the staff was accommodating – from maintenance to housekeeping to servers to front desk and more The level of service provided in this era of short staffing was truly remarkable

I had the sense that everyone was “all in” to make our experience great- the food was delicious – every bit of it, whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner- the facility is outstanding: comfortable, quiet sleeping rooms with good mattresses, and meeting rooms that are well lit with good climate control

ShaQuana Terry

The hotel stay was nice Toby the front desk manager was very pleasant and made sure my stay was going good especially because it was a stressful check in process! There were two things that made my stay difficult the air conditioning didn’t get very cool in the room and the microwave was by the front desk which made feeding a infant difficult Otherwise, everyone was very nice I also appreciated the complimentary bottled water

Travel Reviews

We stayed three nights and thoroughly enjoyed them The check-in experience was quick and easy The hotel has a large lobby area with a restaurant and a bar

There’s a comfortable seating area in the lobby with a few work stations, a tv/couch area, and a couple of gathering tables The hotel has a second inner area that contains a pool and a hot tubThe hotel is everything you would expect from a front line Sheraton Hotel with an attached Conference Center The staff was excellent and very accommodating as they allowed us to store our bicycles in the office area and cheerfully allowed us to eat in the lobby area with our dogs Bonus: dogs stay free through the end of the summer on a special promotion! Hats off to our morning server Mario who truly went out of his way to make sure that we had an enjoyable stayOur room was clean and for the first time in a few years had normal daily servicing by the staff Another good sign that things are returning to normal after covidNote that this hotel does not have ice machines but they give out free ice in bags in the small concession area next to the check-in deskThis is one of the better hotels I have ever stayed at that allows dogs There are many grassy areas around the hotel to walk them and they have waste receptacle on the left side of the hotel toward the backWe definitely plan to stay here next time we pass through Minneapolis

My wife and I recently stayed at this super hip and fun hotel in downtown Minneapolis The accommodations were great, the atmosphere hip, and the location pretty niceAnd while we were expecting a restaurant on the premises, we were able to find several nearby

The PROS: Cool vibe Nice amenities Super, super nice people I especially enjoyed talking with Paris Khoddami and Lynn Williams, both in the Sales/Marketing department for Moxy Also, the bartenders were superbThe CONS: No on-site restaurant (a pretty big miss, IMHO) And the windows don’t open You know, for “Fresh Air?”Other than that, superb visit

Awesome architecture & design Plenty of public seating space Convenient location right across trader Joe’s & Jimmy John’s Price okay? More deals are welcomed, can keep this hotel booked solid year round Consider offering hotel guests greater parking discount Finally, exceptional MUK shampoo & conditioner

Michael Bosley

feel like it needs to be said the rooms are nice but why is there a guitar and an amp in my room?? i don’t know how to play a guitar but if someone happenes to come back to their room dunk one night, they might want to try play it which wouldn’t be great for the room next to me as the rooms aren’t very soundproof

Also, the bartenders downstairs don’t know how to mix drinks beyond a simple gin and tonic so be careful just stick to the simple drink requests

Looking for a place to stay, while my husband needed special care at Abbott Northwestern Cardiac Center Only minutes away from the hospital, everything was as Promised Clean, contemporary, and great service! Restaurant was refreshing, and accommodating

And their security measures were not obvious, yet gave me a secure restful night sleep I definitely would recommend staying! I will return under better circumstances!

We had a pretty large group(including the wedding party) choosing to stay at this hotel for our son and daughter-in-laws wedding I did have more than a few bumps along the way with the room block and was a little nervous how the accommodations would be, however about a week before the wedding, Scott the front desk manager got involved and he is wonderful to work with! He made sure everything was on point and taken care of He routinely checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed for the 4 night stay, and even upgraded the rooms for the Bride and Groom, and for my husband and I

The rest of the staff were very nice and helpful as well! They even knew or son’s dog by name and gave him pets when they saw him! Overall we had a wonderful experience and would not hesitate to stay here again

Michael Moses

Fairly new hotel, smaller shared spaces with what looks to be a fair amount of conference room rentals Rooms are a couple notches better than a Courtyard, though a couple notches lower than a premium hotel Slightly upgraded features

For a work trip, I’d definitely consider For a personal trip, I’d look to another option in the Marriott groupPro tip: Parking on side street is 2 hr meters that start at 9am For a couple dollars, you can park there overnight until 11am Otherwise, there is a lot (albeit for sale) across the street that is just a few dollars more until the next day

Despite being part of the Marriott Bonvoy program for many years, this the first time I stayed in a hotel of their W brand, and the experience was great Service was excellent during my stay both in the front desk and in the Prohibition Bar The hotel is well-located, close to many eateries and attractions downtown

However, what most impressed me was the Foshay’s design I love hotels that have an extra care with their design elements and, in some of the major chains, it is hard to find something truly distinctive Given the historical nature of the building, there are strong Art Deco elements everywhere However, the interior designers were able to add many modern touches that look both glitzy and historic, while delivering a contemporary touch, especially with the use of multi-colored accent walls Just the right amount of personality — a little more and it would look pretentious The rooms are also very well designed The basic room where I stayed was definitely small (it is an old building, after all) but the use of the right furniture makes it look much more spacious The restroom is very comfortable, and I loved the large rain shower, with the area covered with the same tiles on the walls and on the floor Definitely a place I will return to in a future trip to Minneapolis

I give this 3 stars instead of 5 for this reason My husband and I came to Minneapolis for his Grandmother’s 90th birthday This is my first trip to the city

I booked the hotel over a month ago My husband and I have different last names and sometimes get confused on whose name is under Upon our arrival to the hotel we were greeted rather hastily by the woman at the front desk She asked us our name, and for our ID, right away She then very sticky said she couldn’t find us and in the same sentence asked for our confirmation number As my husband was looking for the reservation she kept repeating herself that we were not in the system As he stated to read the number he red 2 digits and she cut him off and said we didn’t book it with them that wasn’t their confirmation number She then grabbed my husband’s phone and started to scroll through flipped it around shoved it in his face and said that we booked it for the day before and that we were no call no shows I was blind sided Everything was moving so fast and she was now taking to us in such a condescending manner I was getting upset I finally said to her to look it up under my husband’s name She rolled her eyes and did She told me I needed to be better organized Started to rattle off our room number and how to get there and stopped acknowledging me She made me so mad I started to call around to other hotels because I no longer wanted to stay The 3 starts is for the fun and elaborate decor Nothing to do with the staff because we were never greeted or acknowledged in our 4 day stay at $690 total

Lizsandra Edwards

I have never stayed at this hotel but I recently did pay a visit The best part? The observance deck is amazing! We got keys at the front desk so we could access the elevators and we went up to the 30th floor You’ll find a small museum when you exit and then you can take the stairs up which will lead you to an exit where you can go outside and see a beautiful view of the city

It was a great place to take photos We also made our way down to an area where we sat and ordered drinks The main floor had a very cool fire place and live music too! Many things to do in just one building The worst part? Parking is too hard to find and expensive so we ended up doing valet which was a little over $20 total It is also more of a dark, fancy ambient so it won’t be everyone’s vibe Drinks were also about $17-$20 each which may be too expensive for some but we were having a nice evening with a visiting friend so it was worth it for us

We stayed there last week and the room and hotel were nice However, the service we have received was less than what we have ever gotten at a Hilton brand hotelAn item was left there on accident and we called within an hour of leaving and left a message with housekeeping and the front desk about where the item was left

No one followed up with us on if they had found it or not I called the next 3 days each and got no responses i was transferred to corporate who said they would escalate the case and find out why i was never contacted Several days later after hearing nothing again, i emailed corporate and they said it would have to be handled at the hotel since it fell under lost and foundI would have been content if someone called and said they were looking for it or could not find it But it has been 9 days since our stay we i have still received no communication from the hotelWe have stayed at Hilton hotels many times and have been overall pleased with the experience in the past However, I would not recommend staying at this particular location It will meet your needs if you just need a room to stay and want appropriate service during your stay If you are looking for good service before and after your stay, i would encourage you to find a different hotel

Serena DeMars

Check in was a breeze Be aware there is a $50 refundable deposit but that is typical Room was clean, spacious, & modern

Unfortunately there was maintenance being done on the pool & hot tub during my stay Affordable for Hilton if you book through a 3rd party site I don’t really have anything bad to say about this place My stay was amazing!

S D

I paid about the same amount to stay at the Holiday in as I did here and definitely would go with Holiday in instead The double tree does not provide free breakfast in the morning like Holiday in didHoliday inn has a big breakfast selection and really good! Fresh fruits, juices, and healthy stuff

Also the hot tub was down so I took stars away for that Also they had barely any channels 😕On a positive note for Double Tree, I liked that double Tree was close restaurants, shopping, theater and groceries stores though!

You are blessed to have a wonderful employee like Moe to start guest visits off so positively!! As a manager I know how difficult it is to find quality employees – Moe is a KEEPER!! Thanks for making our stay great Moe keep smiling- you’re the best!!!!

I was at this location for an event We were able to check in early and get ready in our room before the event started The event was a little hard to get to as we needed to walk through a different event

The servers at our event were not consistent with their policies and we were charged for things one time and not others that were not consistent with the information shared with guests prior to the event Our room itself was nice but fid have some small issues One of the electrical outlets didn’t work causing us to choose between a lamp or an alarm clock The toilet did not flush completely and left toilet paper Would need two flushes to clear The hotel is very nice inside and the decor is appealing, however the outside is a bit stark

Paul Wheeler

This could easily be a top hotel but no breakfast in the restaurant on offer for example along with having to pay for room WiFi is tough to accept I travel the world for business and I NEVER pay for room WiFi It is 2022 after all so get with the program Marriott hotels

Super friendly staff and a comfortable room make up for these shortfallsjust Cheers Paul

I arrived late and they didn’t have my room available The next day I was finally placed in the correct room However the initial arrival was extremely frustrating

The staff was very nice and did do their best to help us out The hotel is beautiful The decor is outstanding The beds are incredibly comfortable So if your reservation isn’t messed up, an amazing place to stay

Accommodations for my daughter’s wedding… 11/10The Rand Hotel had the white glove approach and accommodated over a hundred out of town guests for our daughter’s wedding Everything was exceptionally handled, from the guest check-in to the impeccable service in the dining area Guests commented that they were treated like royalty, and the staff bent over backwards to help meet their needs

One review came from my elderly parents When the dining area was closed for lunch, the service staff cheerfully accommodated them with whatever they desired off the menu On a separate occasion, our large family was having breakfast and wanted to sit together, so the staff orchestrated a table to seat 14 people comfortably in the tower club outside the restaurant areaKelly, the event coordinator, went out of her way so many times by overseeing the arrival of guests to organizing the welcome bags we had delivered for each guest! Kelly orchestrated a warm, welcoming environment to host a bar of welcome drinks in the Rand Tower Club, and guests were in awe at the atmosphere of the club and bar service! It’s a gorgeous space for such an eventAll hotel staff, from the reception desk to the service personnel, proved to go out of their way to make guests feel at home The downtown affair was an incredible experience and we have heard from many guests that the rooms were spotless and the beds were very comfortableThe Rand Tower impressed them beyond measure! I would recommend the Rand Tower Hotel for a stay or to host a special occasion in the Rand Tower Club on the 5th Floor!

This was a fascinating place! No valet parking, or parking at all, which was a little confusing initially We paid $30 a night for parking across the street We used the sky bridge Friday to get back, but the sky bridge was locked and closed on the weekend, which was weird considering it was the access to the hotel via the parking garage

The rooms were very small but had everything we needed They didn’t do any room service while we were there, which was fineWe went to the whiskey and soda and ended up leaving because the bartender seemed flustered and didn’t talk to us to order

Location is amazing, it’s so close to everything downtown and it’s literally on 7 Corners Our room did have outlet issues which was really annoying There was only one outlet in the bathroom and the plugs would must slide out

There were also X4 sub ports and all 4 of them wouldn’t charge anything Otherwise the beds were comfortable and again location is keyParking is separate and is $17 overnight or $22 through the hotel is you need to go in and outThere is no signage letting you know you can’t get to the hotel from the parking garage elevator This threw us and others for a loop

Phil Sweeney

The physical space is very nice and clean I’m giving a low rating because wifi was difficult to connect to and was not reliable at all Most of the time I had to use my data plan

The front desk didn’t seem to care when I told them about the problem For the expense of staying at this location, I don’t think it unreasonable to expect reliable connectivity and staff that cares about customer service

Stayed here for a convention My room had bugs Woke up with bites in multiple places

The location was convenient with access the convention center The service is exceptional by some employees The hotel restaurant hosts and servers were exceptional A certain bartender who I won’t name needs some etiquette and costumer service training due to her dismissive behavior The manager did remedy the issue quickly

DON’T PAY STANDARD PRICEFirstly, I had quite a big discount and was able to split the cost with a friend If this wasn’t the case I don’t feel this would be worth itThe foyer is extremely nice and fancy

The facilities are goodRoom was old-fashioned but nice Clean bathroom and room in-generalIf you’re receiving anything it’ll cost $7 per parcel which is one thing that wasn’t advertisedAnother was that they take a $600 security deposit until your stay is over They put a hold on your card I believe which gets released a few days afterAll-in-all it was a nice stay but the standard price is extremely expensive for what you get

So glad we found this Marriott hotel It’s clean, simple décor, modern, bright with ceiling to floor windows Love the hydration station on each floor along with the ice option

And, the rooftop bar is quaint and lovely Ample parking For being on the intersection of two freeways, it was very quiet as well! The TV is smart so I could stream my music Best of all, the staff was very accommodating on each interaction, from the phone to in person, were so NICE!!

Todd Anlauf

We live nearby but stay here for ‘stay-cations’ when we have a reservation for a good restaurant (Robbinsdale, Downtown Minneapolis, etc) It’s a nice location outside of Downtown Minneapolis (but still very close)

Rooms are modern, comfortable and quiet The 6th floor ‘rooftop’ bar is a great place – particularly for a hotel bar The bourbon selection is better than most good restaurants and the bar tenders are great (top notch service and also fun) – we would even hang out there sometime when we weren’t staying on premises All around the staff are very nice and helpful We look forward to visiting again

I came here from NY to bring a friend to his new home and wanted to treat my fiance and I to a nice hotel because why not, walking in it was incredible! The entire building is breathtaking, the vault style door into the wine cellar, and the elegant spiral staircase, everywhere you look there is something unique! After we took a dip into the one of a kind pool and hot tub we decided to have a bite and a few at The Westin bar, Thomas White was more than a bartender or a host he was busy, but was still keeping up with everyone while maintaining conversation with the guests, It truly was an incredible experience!Thank you so much

The hotel overall is up to Westin standards, however, my room had a few issues The toilet seat was disgusting But not how you might think

It had a rough surface and a ton of permanent stains So they probably cleaned it but you couldn’t tell The shower wand didn’t work which was a bummer The toilet was also clogged I only stayed for one might so didn’t bother complaining They do NOT have room serviceThe customer service seems top notch and the hotel has some nice amenities like a restaurant in the lobby I would probably stay here again but probably complain to management about the room next time

Very friendly staff and great and easy check in and out process Room was decent for the price Pillows weren’t the most comfortable and they could have provided more shower supply

Location isn’t the best as it isn’t close to any major points in the city

DW

Merky, at the front desk, was great in helping usThe bedding and towels were clean and freshThe pillows were a little hard and the carpet had some large ink stains in it

Breakfast was presented well, and was a ‘typical’ hotel breakfastAll and all, we had a nice stay

I arrived shortly before the 3 pm check in I was informed my room was not ready yet No big deal

The worker let me know that he would tell me once my room was ready He must have forgotten since he shortly after 3 pm I waited in the long line that had formed to speak with a different front desk worker We had booked the king suite with the jacuzzi tub It was extremely difficult to open and close the door to the room The room was put together but the fixtures were questionable The front pannel for the tub was halfway off The room smelt slightly wet The floor by where the tile and carpet meet was spongyThe mattress was off of the rotate cycle – the tag of the mattress was January, February, March We stayed in August They do not properly flip and rotate the mattress Only noticed this because we check for bed bugs None of those thankfullyThe grout in the shower looked dirty The wall by the bathroom sink was dirty, like someone splashed coffee on the wall The wall by the garbage and mini fridge was also dirty, pretty sure there was blood on the wallBreakfast was okay The pool area was clean

Jessica Wood

There were SEVERAL hairs on the floor of then bathroom The bathroom was filthy Workout room filthy

Bathroom near check-in desk filthy Walls dented and dirty Both pools closed with no warning I checked in, worked out, found some sort of bone/food item on the floor of the gym, went to the room to find what appeared to be hair from several different people on the bathroom floor, asked for a refund and left I have no idea where these good reviews are coming from

Samantha Visinski

If I could leave less than one star, I would This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in The rooms are filthy

There is hair everywhere Hair all over the bathroom floor, on the towels, in the bed The room was dusty, cob webs, tile coming off the walls in the bathroom, what looks like blood on the bathroom walls, the mirrors and windows have prints/splashes all over them I had to change the sheets myself When I asked the manager, Charlie, to have a full room cleaning and came back to see nothing done he told me that I only asked for it to be dusted (which it wasn’t) and didn’t care about my concerns of the cleanliness of the room When I went back again he told me there is nothing he can do, rolled his eyes and had an incredibly bad attitude The breakfast is a small kitchen where you make your own waffles, stale bread, and cold eggsI will never stay at this hotel or it’s brand due to the way I was treated by the manager, Charlie, and the lack of cleanliness

This is one of our absolute favorite hotels! We’ve stayed multiple times when in the Minneapolis area and it’s a gorgeous hotel with beautiful rooms Not only are the rooms esthetically pleasing, the beds are super comfortable, there’s lots of storage and the bathrooms are also perfect The staff that works here is always gracious and kind, plus the lobby itself is also a gorgeous place to sit and have cocktails/appetizers from the bar and Umbra restaurant

The underground parking makes it easy to get in and out of the hotel There are a lot of great restaurants that are walkable to the hotel as well, plus the U of M campus and US Bank Stadium are a short distance away Highly recommend this wonderful Hilton property

Jason Lichtfuss

The layout of this hotel is gorgeous and unique I had a high-loft ceiling room, which was absolutely astounding The shower was very nice as well

Food and drinks at the bar had excellent service and while my swordfish was a bit overcooked, it was still very tasty paired with the risotto and bell pepper bisqueThe only downside to staying here is the parking, but that’s the game with any hotel in a major metropolitan cityHighly recommended

Sheila

This hotel is beautiful from the lobby to the timberloft style rooms But there are many beautiful hotels in the world What is TRULY notable at the Canopy Minneapolis is the staff

The team there is beyond amazing – every – single – person! I engaged with multiple front desk and restaurant staff and everyone was genuinely friendly and willing to help For a weary traveler, a kind smile, assessment of my needs and exemplary service hits the spot On top of that, the location is great This place sets a high bar for other hotels – anywhere My only issue is that the rooms have pretty poor noise barrier but that’s it!

We stayed here for Valentine’s Day as a staycation We live in the Twin Cities but wanted to do something special It was a lot of fun

We used their valet service which was nice We also took advantage of their rooftop spa, this was so amazing It’s a great place for just a special night They are extremely dog friendly so if you have a furry friend bring them along The only downfall, we had horrible service in the attached restaurant We stopped in for a late night drink and a snack in the bar area, our server ignored us the entire time Didn’t bring plates, napkins or silverware with the appetizer we ordered Finally got her attention and asked for napkins (we had ordered cheese curds – greasy – napkin was necessary) she finally sent someone else over after we were done and told them we didn’t need them anymore She was completely engaged with another table showing them pictures on her phone and carrying on a long conversation It was ridiculous

FIREmaynerdRN

The hotel is beautiful It’s fairly easy to find and pull up front The roof- top hot tub and sky line view were awesome! The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable

We didn’t get a chance to check out the bar/restaurant but they look promising The valet experience could use a little work When paying over $400/night for the room and $48 for valet we were expecting for at least a little help unloading vehicles and bringing luggage to our room When leaving- call plenty early for the valet It took at least a half hour from the time we called to get the vehicle

C Parkman

The Hewing is no doubt a beautiful place to stay and well done for the city However the price you pay for a night doesn’t quite match the quality of what you get unfortunately For a price tag of $420 for a king size city view we were expecting a bigger room, plush hotel towels, robe’s, a more comfortable bed with a waterproof mattress cover that doesn’t make that plastic sound when you move on it, and at least a bottle or two of complementary water

We went up to the rooftop jacuzzi to enjoy the evening and it was right next to the roof top bar, which anyone can get into, so all the bar attendees are watching the hot tubers, it was a very weird and uncomfortable set up Needless to say we didn’t get it Your paying Ritz prices without the amenities

I organize international exchanges for international leaders and have been bringing groups here at least three times a month, every month, for week-long stays since June They LOVE this hotel It’s clean, the beds are comfortable, it’s around the block from Marshall’s, Nicollet Mall and the Light Rail to Mall of America

They take their photo in the lobby next to the wall of wine bottles and futuristic chairs They comment on how fresh the lobby smells (it always smells amazing, I’ve been here several times) Great staff Just a wonderful and economic experience I can’t say enough I never plan to have my guests stay anywhere else

This is a beautiful hotel Our bed was very comfortable The room and all the common areas we visited were very clean and well decorated

Bathroom in our room was spotless I’m not sure what brand of toiletries they supply but the shower gel smelled fantastic! Plenty of clean towels too There is parking structure attached so we didn’t have to go outside to enter the hotel We had burgers at the restaurant there and they were fantastic You can even order a whole pigs head if that’s your fancy Great experience overall The only thing I can complain about is the soga vending machines didn’t work on either floor Kind of a bummer So bring your own snacks and beverages I would 100% stay there again though It’s a really nice place

Kat Toledo (Stace)
