Like most of the reviews I read before staying here, I have to say that the best thing about this hotel is the staff They were very welcoming and helped me find a spot for my motorcycle trailer – very accommodating Unfortunately, the rest of the hotel was far less appealing

The rooms are dirty The desk chair and couch had stains all over them The sheets and pillows were clean The bathroom had a broken toilet seat that moved all around when opening/closing The floor by the entry was sticky for some reason The coffee maker in the room did not look like it had been wiped down at all, spots and hard water streaks I ran it a few times through with hot water before using it The bathtub was a little dingy in the cornersI didn’t use it The remote control was not cleaned or marked as “disinfected” or in a bag – hard to believe in the times of COVID The breakfast the next morning was good, if basic, and the buffet style set-up was organized and clean If I had to stay in Birmingham again, it would not be at this hotel Not enough value, comfort or cleanliness The Summit area has new, better hotels that I would look into

Misti Ramey

This is the place to stay It’s not too far off the highway but you can’t hear any road noise The staff were all very nice

The place looks well kept The beds were clean and very comfortable The room was average size but the high ceilings made it feel bigger There’s a mini fridge and microwave along with a hair dryer in the room The AC worked well There was very little noise from the hallways The breakfast is a real meal not some muffin and an apple thing I travel often for work and will stay here again I love that they don’t want to charge me $100+ for a port either

Ginger Given

Front desk guy was super friendly 😊 And the room was huge! I am handicapped (use a cane) so the size of the room plus grab bars by the toilet and in the shower are very helpful! Also had a shower seatThe only drawback was the low water pressure in the sink and the bathroom tile was a bit stickyWe enjoyed our stay here! There was a BBQ restaurant very close as well

Saw’s Juke Jointvery tasty!

Clean and update rooms Staff is extremely friendly and kept asking if everything was to my satisfaction This was both at night during checkin and in the morning during checkout

A pleasure to deal with and would happily stay here again Would never stay down the street at the 2 Hilton brand hotels that was the worst experience of my life and only made better by how sweet and nice the staff here was Hotel was honestly cleaner and nicer as well

Joshua Johanning

It’s “okay” But I wouldn’t recommend the hotel as a Platinum/Titanium if you want hotel breakfast (or anyone else who might want to pay for it)The room was fine along with the internet

I thought my room felt a little damp with the wall AC not working as well, but it was livableMy two biggest complaints:- no breakfast first 2 days of my stay because the person hadn’t arrived – instead of using my $10 for a heated up breakfast sandwich I had to spend it on snacks I didn’t need- billed for breakfast when breakfast was open even though I had my $10 daily creditFollow-ups on requested items didn’t happen It’s okay, but perhaps try elsewhere

tom kandler

Completely dissatisfied My room was overpriced and dirty Hotels are saying they don’t do daily cleaning because it is taking longer when guests check out to ‘completely clean’ the rooms

Weren’t they doing that prior to COVID? They are also using the same excuse for not having complimentary coffee in the lobby, but they have put in mini coffee shops that you have to pay for I’ve learned my lesson and will look on AirBnB next time

My room was clean and nothing was shabby That is the only good thing I can say There was no shampoo

They told me they had run out a couple weeks prior That is hard to believe for a name brand hotel But the least they could have done was tell me before I left home and I could have brought my own shampoo My room faced a 12 lane highway ( yes, 6 lanes in each direction!) The noise was constant and explained why the room had a white noise machine I was attending a seminar and no one in the hotel knew where it was so I had to wander around to find it One of the attendees told me his room rate which was $50/night less than mine He said when he made his reservation he asked if there was a discount rate for attendees I went to the front desk about this, and they told me too bad, nothing they could do I could try calling sales So I did and Sales said I had to register on line which was a lie as the other person I spoke to attending the seminar did not register on line he made his reservation by phone Just a bad experience overall

There is a fine line between a very good hotel and a less than average hotel The check in was very slow, showing that the manager was not willing to come and help check customers in Secondly, there were laundry carts sitting by the elevator

This is evidence of poor housekeeping And, there was molding, or trim pulled off all over my area, including my room It would have been nice for them to inform me there was construction going on, when I checked in There was no TV signal

Whitney D.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years, and after last night’s stay, I believe they should’ve just remained closed To begin, at checkout I was told that the room choice I booked was no longer available The guy who checked me in was even excited that I decided to only stay one night instead of the two I booked (so obvious they overbooked)

I took the room they had, and we noticed we had no small face towels in our room, so we requested them and were told they were dirty, and that cleaning staff didn’t arrive until the next morning That was fine, so the next morning we called around 7, and we were told they would be in by 8 I then went to the desk at 8:25, and the staff member was purposely rude to myself and everyone else who was in line She even turned her back to me to speak with another staffer, and made it clear she didn’t care She did inform me that cleaning staff didn’t get in until 8:30, before turning her back to me, though I asked if I could give her my room number for towels and she wrote it down By 10:00, still no towels and no word On top of that, water did not get hot (only warm) and the shower had hair in there from the previous people When I went to check out, customer service from her was just as terrible She is so mean to everyone for no reason Why have someone like this working your front desk if you are a 4 star hotel? Very disappointed and surely won’t stay again The Westin has much better service There was also no hair dryer in the room, which was odd I completely understand that by today being Father’s Day, you guys may be short staffed, but there is absolutely a way to inform customers and to have the employees who do come to work offer an apology for the inconvenience Staying at this hotel is no small fee, and I am disgusted I will say the valet team was extremely nice, but most people are when working for tips

Here for one night There was a member of staff learning to make towel animals as we were checking in I made small talk with him and after we returned from dinner he put two in our room

Very good staff at this hotel The room was clean (had an odd smell in the room, but it wasn’t a bad smell -it might have been a cleaner or something)I would stay here again

Trudy Gage

Book for my son’s college orientation (go Blazers), the staff(housekeeping, front desk and security) are super friendly and helpful Our room was nice( coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge) The bath area can be a little tricky, if you are a lady and have to shave your legs, there is no where to prop your foot up(know your flexibility limits)

Restaurants are in the immediate area( We tried J Wing’s eatery, they were pretty darn good)

Demetris Butler

I’ve always stayed at this hotel since they opened for business, and never had any issues until now Over the past years I’ve noticed the decline of the upkeep of the rooms I stayed one night and woke up to bites on my my upper and lower arms

Upon inspecting the bed that morning it was bed bugs I was horrified that this hotel does not value the safety and cleanliness of rooms for their customers I hope they take their complaints serious and try to improve with the cleanliness of the rooms Breakfast was ok nothing to get excited about The area don’t bother me, convenient location for track meets I would not be staying at this hotel again, nor do I recommend!!

The biggest thing to know is no onsite parking without using their valet service We opted for free street parking and just had to walk which was only inconvenient when bringing our things to the hotel

The hotel itself is staffed with really nice folks The bartender was charismatic and we greatly enjoyed talking to him while enjoying drinks The room itself was very cozy and clean and we over all loved the stay I can’t give 5 stars because there’s not a mini fridge or a microwave in the room That made eating and storing left overs and stuff impossible I would give it 5 stars if those things were added though Perfectly located downtown we walked to a lot of great places with ease

Erin Zulfer

I stayed for 2 weeks for work and I met I think almost everyone at the desk and valet services outside, couldn’t ask for a better group of people Lee, and Harley(I believe his name was) were outside most of time when I was in and out of the hotel, super nice and were able to tell me about the parking situation besides the valet Quentin was behind the bar and was able to recommend tons of cool things to do and makes absolutely incredible cocktails

It did not originally have a mini fridge in the room but I asked the front desk and they were able to send one Cleaning staff was great as wel, thank you so much

Ashley Smith

Very disappointed in my first stay at Kelly Front desk staff were eating food at the desk when I stopped by, had no change for the valet and in general appeared apathetic to guests I had a king room that smelled like mildew

Additionally the nightstand and desk had a liquid on it that I had to wipe off with a towel The linens felt like they had not been washed and gross! And lastly – $35 A DAY for valet – are they high? You don’t pay this in New York City This bones of hotel are stunning yet they need to fix a few basics in cleanliness, customer service and hotel guest basics

The rooms are large for a downtown location And the rooms are comfortable But, this hotel needs some attention from management

They are in need of minor renovations — carpet stained and coming up in places, wallpaper pealing, etcAnd they were way understaffed My room had no shampoo or conditioner when I arrived I requested it three times before I finally just went to the front desk to ask for my own I asked for my room to be cleaned and it took two days before that happened In all circumstances, there was no communication back to me after my requests The pool was closed (and it was the summertime)It took me almost an hour to check-in because they were way understaffedIn general, it was a mixed experience Comfortable rooms and a good location in the vicinity of the convention center But, ownership needs to take a look at their staffing, training, and upkeep

Trudie Mayo

The rooms are very comfortable The staff does not service the guests We asked for towels repeatedly and after 4 days

still no towels We were forced to reuse 2 towels all week That’s with me calling twice a day and then standing in front of the front desk where I gave up waiting after 20 minutes on the 3rd day Beds were great! Air was comfortable! Service terrible 😑

Keaton Montgomery

We stayed here for three days, two nights and loved the experience Great location with lots of close places to visit We were within walking distance of several amenities (museum of art, civil rights museum, top golf)

Natassja was amazing at her job of customer service She helped us twice when we needed help and was so accommodating She needs a raise!!

I stayed here with my husband and three small children overnight, while in the area for a dance competition The hotel is located next to a Walmart and among many other businesses, but is also located upwards of a hill so there is a nice hidden feel! The room was clean and had a nice scent when we first walked in The room also had a very cute reading nook by the window, which had a beautiful view of wooded areas

Staff was pleasant, and very friendly Breakfast had an abundance and large variety of food Overall, it was a wonderful experience

Holly Hughes

$250 deposit We were not told of it at our time of reservation The rooms are clean, with just a few stains on the window seat

The gentleman at the counter was professionalThe pool is small, but still awesomeThe pillows are flatThere is a scratch about knee high on the conjoining door, not a problem just recording itUpdate:I was only aggravated that I wasn’t told of the deposit before i showed up so I could figure it into my trip budgetI had no idea you have had human trafficking at your hotel!I’m changing my star rating from the 4 to a 1 That’s terrifying!!I imagine a human trafficker could pay the deposit easier than me, though I’m just a fast food worker

Nelda Lopez

The older women at the desk was horribly insensitive I had called to reserve a downstairs room due to a disability but when I checked I was told one wasn’t available When I asked her why not she said that a 100 people before me asked for one and it was first come first serve

However, I saw people checking in after me who were afforded down stairs rooms She then proceeded to tell me in an insensitive manner that I could find another hotel if I wanted to Excuse me? What kind of customer service is that? In other words take it or leave it Well not to worry, I will leave it next timeIn addition, they wouldn’t let me check in early nor was the room ready at 3:30 The elevator was out of order, ice machine on the floor was out of order and the phone in our room had no dial tone (we couldn’t contact the front desk if we wanted to) The only decent thing here was housekeeping, they were very apologetic about not having the room clean on time and helpful in providing other assistance

When checking in I was asked to initial and sign the agreement about a $20 incidentals hold on my credit card, smoke free mandate, etc I asked for a copy of the agreement, since I was required to sign it, and was told that I could not have a copy of it by the employee and manager I explained that I wanted a copy because it contained my signature on the agreement and the manager politely did ask me to wait a minute while she consulted with the General Manager (GM) who was there

The GM approved for the manager to make me a copy I offered to pay for the copy, but was told it was not needed Otherwise, the hotel appears to be newly built, is located near convenience stores, pharmacy and grocery store It also has a pleasant smell

I have been employed with Hilton in the past and have enjoyed working dual property Hampton’s in Tuscaloosa, AL for 3 years I applied for the Night Auditor position the last week in Feb and was hired on 02/23/22 (terminated on 04/29/2022)

The Assistant General Manager, Marcus Gordon, called me at 9:00 pm on a Sunday evening to schedule an interview That was the first red flag but I needed employment so I did not make it a huge deal I was employed at this property for 90 days before being wrongfully terminated The General Manager, Karen Jacob, fired me about 30 minutes shy of 3:00pm after working a night audit shift that morning The management team at this property is defective and below par to say the least There is no communication between the team members and management and it shows In the 3 months that I was hired here not 1 of the employees from any department had ANYTHING nice to say about Karen There has been multiple accusations of stealing of money by management and maintenance from numerous staff members I experienced 3 different encounters of theft of my personal items while being employed at this location The GM does not directly deal with confrontation, she doesn’t come out of her office and will literally, deliberately ignore guests concerns and allow her phone to ring with no intentions of answering The management team at this property portrays a facade of concern and compassion for their team members but that is most certainly not the case Marcus, the assistant GM, faithfully gossips about team members and constantly makes jokes about terminating members of the staff I would never in a million years recommend working at this property to my worst enemy If I could leave anything lower than 1 star I would leave the rating in the negative

Belinda Forman

The room was very clean I was disappointed that they didn’t serve a free breakfast and they didn’t offer coffee in the lobby throughout the day The coffee maker in the room did not work but then when I was able to pour water through it it was nasty

It was like dirty and nastyThat was very comfortable The room was very nice I would stay here again anytime

Dawn Swinford

999% of the employees were super friendly and nice Wasn’t too excited about the waitress, but she was they only one, and was quite busy, so I understood and won’t complain

The waffle I ordered was undercooked, but again, I didn’t complain Was disappointed that there was no continental breakfastThere was no hand soap of any kind in our bathroom Wasn’t happy about thatWhen checking out, my husband had a couple minor complaints about not having enough towels or pillows The lady at the desk said that they didn’t realize that there was more than 1 guest in that room, since there was only 1 name on the card Uhm WHAT? Really? When I made the reservation, I specifically said it was for 3 adults and 1 child That’s why I had to pay extra More people Overall, not really happy I expected more from the name Hilton It was ok But still everyone was super nice and friendly and helpful

One of the most beautiful upscale hotels that I have ever stayed I needed a quiet get away, which was perfect However, the rooftop bar and the restaurant is great for a great time

So has the best of both worlds Dominique was so caring I was thankful for her hospitality All the front desk reps were great, even when i needed something in the middle of the night Valet had a staff issue, the lot is next to the hotel which made it easy for me to just get and park my car Overall it was an amazing experience Thankful I chose to stay there

Izz Noland

Pros: Very nice hotel in downtown Birmingham My wife and I went for a “stay-cation” and definitely worth it with The Yard restaurant on site for dinner and brunch Highly recommend the somewhat eclectic rooms, and nice views!Cons: The only downside is that some of the in room amenities were not 100%

One of the shower heads looked like it would fall off any minute, the shower gel was empty, and housekeeping came by an hour before checkout asking if we had checked out so she could clean We heard her in the hallway knocking on the other doors as well

Brian Wray

The Place is Beautiful and has a very eclectic and high end feel Really Posh But, this is a place where it is Form/Design over function

Valet Staff is Awesome and very helpfulThe Front desk staff (evening and morning both) seemed a little put-out/annoyed by our arrival and questions, but the Valet team was helpfulThis is a place where form trumps functionThe rooms are tiny, halls are tiny (luggage carts barely fit through the halls or in the rooms) luggage carts are rickety and barely holding togetherThe Rooms are beautiful and eclectic (which is why we chose it), but this form has take precedent over function It is not meant for FamiliesThe Toilet Room door and shower doors are opaque green/yellow glass and do not seal, do not have fans, are hot as hell, and full conversations can be had, hands can be held while using both ie: lacks a sense of privacyThe toilet room might as well be called a sauna because it was as hot as onenot a place where you want to start sweating just walking in The listing was weird and again, not meant for function, but rather formForm/decor was nice, but it lacked some much function, It will not be a place we stay at next time we are in townAlso, the bar/restaurant is not open on Sunday, almost the entire downtown area is closed, so definitely do not recommend a Sunday stay in Birmingham Downtown

Our family booked here while traveling for a funeral We have a 7 month baby that absolutely loved jumping (assisted) on the bed We had all the amenities needed to take care of her and easily reset all her bottles

Annette, the breakfast attendant, was absolutely wonderful! We checked in online, so we really didn’t interact with anyone until breakfast She was our Marriott representative and she was phenomenal! My husband raves about how friendly she was… Even after 9:10 when breakfast was supposed to be closed

Stayed at this establishment for the weekend to visit my best friend who just moved to Alabama This hotel was cute, modern, stylish, and very up to date The room was stylish, spacious and carried the same modern chic decor throughout the suite

I had a double bed room that included a sofa lounge area and cute desk Room also comes with iron and ironing board and Keurig machine Not much negative to say, customer service could have been a bit more welcoming Overall a good experience

Jessica Lee

The hotel is nice, the area is great, the breakfast is what you’d expect, a bit on the better side, the rooms are comfortable However, if you’re sharing a room with someone who you don’t want to hear all your bathroom noises, or see their/your naked silhouette through the glass bathroom door, or see them naked in the shower because there is a good amount of space with a clear view of said shower where the sliding barn style door gap is

don’t choose this place Stylish yes Functional and discreet, not a chance You hear it ALL, see it ALL, and smell it ALL Otherwise, it’s a nice spot to stay while in the areaSome fast food and shopping all within walking distance Restaurants are very close as wellMy family has stayed there twice now Yes, the extra daughter was embarrassed about the extra Dads bathroom habitsit was a good shocking laugh though We promptly evacuated Definitely part of the family now!

Really disappointed in our experience staying at this Marriott location recently Our single night stay was extremely overpriced for such a poorly maintained property There was only one working elevator and access to stairs was not at all clearly marked

The AC in our room barely worked We had a bare minimum amount of towels provided to the room, and those that were provided were threadbare Although we booked a room with a King bed and a sofa sleeper, we were not provided any sheets, pillows, or other bedding for the sofa sleeper and had to retrieve these items from the front desk ourselves late at night once discovered (We were still unable to obtain additional pillows – so 3 pillows between 3 of us across the king and sofa beds) – and when the sofa sleeper was opened in our room, it actually blocked the room door from being openedSnacks from the lobby pantry were all stale and gross Breakfast, although included, did not offer many options and was poorly serviced/stocked The only trashcan available during breakfast time was overflowing and in the 20-30 mins we were in the dining area, no one attended to it – despite the empty trash bags that were laying on the floor around itParking is validated, but the recommended parking deck doesn’t feel safe, maintained, or properly staffed When we were parked in front of the hotel unloading to check in, there was a man knocking on our vehicle windows panhandling for changeThe staff were mostly friendly and helpful, but they didn’t seem knowledgeable about Marriott’s elite loyalty programs and related offersWhile we love Marriott hotels, we won’t be staying at this location again – and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else either in its current state

Love this place! We used to hop around hotels in the area and now we only stay hereCentrally located in perhaps the most pedestrian part of Birmingham You can get to the airport, watch a Baron/USFL/NBA D-League game, have a nice dinner and take the family to Railroad Park all within a 10 minute walk or drive

The other part I love and perhaps I should have mention first is the staff Be prepared being greeted with a smile and “how you doing?” by everyone on staff It’s a nice adjustment if you’re a frequent traveler Mr Curtis and Frankie are always pleasant to see…probably because the kids love themI left valuable items by accident once and the GM personally handed them to me as soon as I walked in I’ve been to this hotel before but it just feels different lately…in a positive way I know my kids would vouch for that I’d love it even more if they added a kitchen and bar!! 😍

I will say the lobby makes you feel relaxed right away Parking is easy Good downtown location

But we never made it thru the check in process We made the reservation online at their website We chose the prepay option to get a discount When we arrived, our reservation showed up but the payment did not Long story short, we ended up going home because we couldn’t pay for the same reservation again Especially not at the full rate

Spent two nights at this hotel and was pleased with my choice The room was clean and spacious I will say the sleeper sofa was the most uncomfortable thing ever

I ended up making a bed on the chaise lounge part of the couch with one of the dining chairs for my feet Luckily I’m short so it worked out perfectly with a great view of the tv The lobby/breakfast had plenty of seating that was not on top of the next table I didn’t try the breakfast but it appeared to have a good variety The little market had your basics too The location was great for me as it was walkable to restaurants and most important for me, at least one local coffee shop The best thing about this hotel was definitely the staff Every single person was super friendly and so helpful These days customer service is not always pleasant, but it is at this hotel!!

Stayed here at Residence Inn for 10 days on a business trip The service was awesome LaTara was the first person I met to check in and she was so kind, courteous and helpful throughout my entire stay

All the hotel staff was amazing! The room was excellent! The breakfast was very good and the staff preparing it, made it extra special Thank you

Jamie Cook

Nice rooms other than the water damage in the kitchen I loved the two bedroom suite option which made sharing a room with my parents much easier Breakfast is amazing and service was incredibly friendly

The location is nice if you’re visiting a student from UAB and is also located within walking distance from a lot of quality restaurants and bars

The stay wasn’t bad The staff was friendly The breakfast was alright

The hotel needs some updating, hence the 4 out of 5My phone call to book the room was the most horrible experience ever I think they use a third party, at least for when they’re busy If this review was only based on that, I would give it zero stars When I was done w the phone call I was angry and exhausted They took 15 minutes and kept trying to get me to sign up for a bunch of things Plus they were super pushy and when I asked how much the room rate was she made me listen to a whole spiel for 7 minutes before she would give me the price I can’t explain it, you just have to call at a busy time and see for yourself

Read the reviews prior to booking THEY ARE LIES Do NOT book this hotel

1 The room door handle came off in our hand2 The air conditioner leaked all over the floor (3rd floor) Yes The floor under the air conditioner was saturated and we witnessed water dripping down the cord We worried about mold3 Dirty bedspread and holes in the blankets4 The hallway carpets are FILTHY5 The room, hallway, and elevator smelled like smoke6 Mold in the ice machine Obviously we did not useThe kicker was…when we nicely went back to the desk and asked for a different room and listed off the issues the owner was summonsed and stated before we could be given another room she had to see how much of the room we had used WE HAD JUST CHECKED IN!We did not have time to change hotels as we only had one half hour to spare until we were due at the Miss Alabama competitionSeriously Save yourself Do NOT book this hotel

My stay here was pleasant The staff is very matter of fact and no non sense You ask for information and they will provide you with the information when it is available

I only stayed here one night in a double queen room The view was nice I had to shove the door open when coming in but the room was clean and comfy Nothing impressive but all the amenities were accurate and the room was cleaned Breakfast is nothing fancy but I enjoyed the waffles The gym has disinfectant wipes, towels and filtered water If you need something basic and to the point, this is your place

Anthony Johnson

Stayed here for the last two nights and there is a lot to like about this place Beautiful architecture, nice rooms and great location Could have easily given them 4 stars but their front desk personnel had attitudes and in some cases were plain rude

I’m a lifetime Diamond Hilton Honors member and there is a fine line between being a good hotel versus being a great hotel And until the Owners and Management of this hotel require warm customer service this place will always be just a “good” hotel

Barney Moore

Don’t get it twisted, this hotel is not worth your money Clogged drains, cracked sink, cracked toilet, no refrigerator, AC wasn’t working right, very tiny rooms I travel all over the country for work and this was absolutely the smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in

Street parking is a pain, not the safest area at night either I found the hotel staff to be kinda rude in general Nothing about this hotel feels historic except maybe the view from the street They serve breakfast on the top floor, so I went up there at 7am and it was 80 degrees in that damn room It’s basically the same terrible breakfast as any other Hampton Inn, but add 10 degrees to the ambient temperature No cold milk or cream at the coffee station, no milk in the fridge, and no fridge in the rooms either Good luck if you stay here I booked 3 nights and dipped out early just to get away from it My best guess is they don’t have the money or staff to properly service the place, but if you’re gonna charge $180/night you better get your act together Beds are so squishy the sheets come popping off Congrats, you’re the worst hotel I’ve been to in 37 nights at Hilton brand hotels in the past few months Now comes the hard part, put some money into this place and make it right Historic shouldn’t mean run-down

I had a wonderful one night stay at the Redmont All of the staff from valet, to front desk, to restaurant staff, were very friendly and helpful This it a downtown hotel and great for business travelers or a weekend getaway

There is a rooftop bar that is supposed to be amazing However it was closed due to the weather and short staffing I had drinks and appetizers in the restaurant Both were very good The room was not large but had a desk and king size bed which was very comfortable The Redmont is on the National Register of Historic Places It is also listed as the most haunted hotel in Alabama I did not see any ghosts Maybe next time…………

Danny Haralson

We didn’t stay here but we will! We’re from Bhm and next time we want a downtown evening, this will be the place Hotel is nice (Hilton Curio) with a long history but the staff was the best! We went (small group 10 +) stopped by roof top bar for a drink Staff opened doors, helped us figure out elevators (only 1 goes to penthouse/ bar) and served drinks

We travel often but think we’ve found a gem right here with service & pleasantness leading the way (how rare!)

Dana Aderhold

The staff at check in was less than helpful The staff at checkout was helpful though Room was dirty

$35 to valet was ridiculous when they are just moving the car to a public parking lot across the street that I could have parked in myself for 1/2 the price Hotel smelled old and musty Homeless people harassing me outside of the hotel I didn’t feel safe and will never be back

I was so impressed with the staff at Home2Suites downtown Birmingham Everyone was welcoming and spoke to you when you saw them Didn’t matter who the employee was— the asked if you needed anything and always with a smile

My room was very nice, clean and spacious and was awesome for me to work I loved that we had a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and sink This made it easy for my husband and I who have strict dietary needs The amenities were very nice and the hotel is kept very clean I will definitely stay here again! I want to especially thank the young lady at the front desk who checked my family and I in earlier in the morning She really went the extra mile and I appreciate her for this It was 8:15 am in the morning – you rock! 😀Great job!

Easy Nature

Very nice hotel near UAB hospital and several restaurants The suites are roomy and clean They feature a kitchenette with a mid size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and sink

There’s a sitting area with a small sofa and desk The beds are on the far end of the room Plenty of storage throughout the room These are a great choice for an extended stay The hotel also has a terrific grilling area with gas grills, a pool, a bar, a restaurant, and a fitness center I would highly recommend this hotel

The manager handed me toilet paper in the lobby There was no staff or housekeeping staff available !We returned several times to an open door We asked for Door to be fixed

It wasn’t locking on closure but took two days to get it fixedHad to ask for soap, towels etc dailyTold by housekeeping that there was no extra bedding cause of covid! Sheets were torn and didn’t fit and were put on inside outThe lamp and the ironing board in the bedroom was brokenRoom was dirty and bathroom tooThis seriously was the worst Hilton ever! Staff was rude and acted annoyed to be there It was the most unpleasant stayOnly nice staff member was Brandy She was professional but her hands were tied by rude staff and short staffingAnd I was told no late check out under any circumstances!I am now a new Marriott member!

It first of all started with amazing Customer service when we arrived on Friday I wish I could remember his name but he was so kind and helpful I had my seven-year-old daughter with me and he catered to her as she was the one paying

He made sure she knew where the pool was and then put us in a room overlooking the pool so she could see it, then gave her the key to hold, and just made us feel welcomed The breakfast was delicious, especially the scrambled eggs The room was so clean and perfect for what we needed The room was quiet, the air conditioning was amazing and cold We slept like babies The entire staff from front desk, housekeeping, breakfast and check out was great The hallways smelled so clean and fresh The only SMALL complaint was the toilet seat was too small for the toilet which was very weird We will 100 percent stay there again

Ana G.

We had a wonderful stay here This is the closest hotel to Barber Motorsports Park The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful

There is hot coffee and hot water (for tea or cocoa) in front of the front counter all day long The breakfast available was simple: scrambled eggs, sausage links/patties, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, and make your own waffles The perfect way to start your day before hitting the track

Steve Lacol

The staff was top notch, the property is Class A, everything worked, breakfast was greatBut the real show stopper was the front desk manager, Lakisha, who just beamed hospitality and went out of her way, in every way, to make it a great stay DEFINITELY COMING BACK

We stayed here because it had pretty good reviews This is clearly going downhill They were noticeable understaffed

As a result our room wasn’t ready when we arrived I could look past this, however the ladies at the front desk were awful They were extremely slow, old, and didn’t acknowledge your presence until they were ready They had no way to communicate with their housekeepers and kept leaving to see if rooms were ready When I returned later in the night to get a towel for the bathroom (they provided 2 and we had 3 people) it took a long time for the ladies at the front to acknowledge me They were busy counting money and didn’t talk until they were done When I opened the towel in the morning it had a giant whole in it Finally, I requested a blanked and pillow for the pullout couch They blanket was fine (thought this should be standard in the room, not by request), however they had no pillows to provide I was told most people just use one from the bed and they were out This pointed to a bigger issue with management not providing the necessary resources This place will clearly be going down hill if no major intervention happens soon The only redeemable piece was the breakfast was pretty adequate The hot food was all over-cooked, but the amount available was good The room also seemed clean

Jonathan Fox

The hotel is great, but the reason I am writing this review has to do with Mrs Rhonda I book this hotel for tons of friends as they are coming into town and Rhonda has always helped me

While I think the hotel over all is great, Mrs Rhonda is what makes this Best Western the “Best” all puns intended Cannot recommend this place enough!
