Such a great stay!I was in town for a work conference The staff were extremely friendly from the moment we walked inI was pleasantly surprised with a very nice message on a card from the housekeeper

It made my day!! The room was very clean, I felt very comfortable & all staff were very accommodating!Breakfast was very good, waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, juice and coffee! The staff were right there to ensure I had everything I needed! These workers deserve a raise and a pat on the back! I would 100% recommend this hotel if you’re ever in that area!!

The young lady that worked the counter and had been coordinating through the person that was setting up the room for me She also had a smile on her face when I showed up @ around 0130 She had everything I needed that was waiting on me there

I can’t say enough good things about her Very pleasant, and extremely helpfulI have no complaintsThe rooms were outstanding They were clean they were more than clean they were military inspection ready It was a great great experience for what little time I got to spend there

Terry Guers

The hotel is conveniently located just east of KC, just off the interstate, and not far from the Truman Presidential Library and the Royals baseball stadium My request for an upper level floor away from traffic was honored The bed was comfortable

The furnishings were fine But, the bathroom floor was noticeably worn from mopping Also the stairwell carpeting was discolored with wear All of the employees were friendly and helpful

ZERO STARS! this hotel charged my card for my entire hotel stay…then as I’m standing in line to check in I over hear that my stay was CANCELLED because they “were overbooked” NO CALL IN ADVANCE! NO APOLOGY! They said that since I booked third party, my reservation was first to be automatically cancelled They knew this this morning and proceeded to charge my card anyway

Had I known this before my 4 hour drive here, I could have made alternate arrangements but no…had to be just as we arrived to check in…VERY ANGRY WITH THIS PLACE! Now we’re having to scramble to find a hotel…kids in tote and all VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Very impressed with this hotel Our room was very clean and comfortable The bed was really comfortable as well

It is pet friendly, as an added bonus I would have expected to pay a lot more for this room and have certainly paid more for rooms that were not nearly as clean and comfortable If you’re traveling through the area I 100% recommend choosing Comfort Inn Grain Valley

Blake L

Last weekend was our first experience here and we loved it My wife and friends are from the Independence area but had no idea this area existed The wines were great and the staff were warm and nice

We also met one of the owners and she was engaging and made us feel welcome Glad to hear that they’ve been in business for 12 years too We’ll be back again!

Kyle S

My wife and I visited Sat 7/28/18 It was my first winery visit

Surprisingly I actually really enjoyed it Everyone there was super friendly We stayed the night at the bed & breakfast and had an amazing evening chatting under their lit up gazebo Didn’t bother turning on the music they had, as we enjoyed the sounds of the country & each others company The room (master suite) was very nice I will say, the Angel pictures & wallpaper weren’t my favorite theme but didn’t effect our stay in the least Amazing two headed shower & great breakfast provided by Al & Bonnie Al is a Vietnam vet and so we enjoyed a great breakfast conversation as I’m an Iraq vet They showed us where and how they make the wine before we left the next morning Great time, highly recommend

Shelby Baker

Wonderful experience! The couple in the tasting room taught us a lot about their wines and we got to taste their entire long list for $5 Once you’ve found your favorite (there are plenty of dries, sweets, and semis), there are excellent indoor and outdoor seating options Outside, there’s a beautiful pond and vines as your view

We will be back!!

The Candlewood Suites Independence MO is in a nice quiet location away from the street Hotel appears to be relatively recent construction and was in really good shape Parking lot was fine and the whole place had a safe atmosphere

My room was immaculately clean from one side to the other The layout was great and all appliances were in great condition TV was larger than most hotels offer The bed, pillows, and linens were as comfortable as you can getBathroom was also great very clean Phenomenal shower headStaff was exceptional, most accommodating and professionalMy only gigs: There is an exhaust fan that runs 24/7 in the bathroom that has no switch And mine happened to have a slight whine that was very annoying and audible when the AC was not running Also, by the lobby in the commons area where there was coffee and foods for sale, it was in need of counter wipe downs and trash removal both times I visitedI would not hesitate for a return visit Great experience

Valerie Ri

II traveled from Florida and needed a place to stay for 4 days Check in was a breeze the desk attendant was very polite and friendly I was thoroughly surprised as my room was absolutely spotless I stated to one of my children that I’ve never seen such a white tub in my life lol

During my 4 day stay I had no issues whatsoever I met 2 of the office attendants and both were very very friendly Did not have any experience with the laundry and lounge area but both areas looked clean I know that I seem to use the word clean an awful lot but that is the number one Thing I look at when I am looking for a place to stay The parking lot was very well lit and I spotted several of the cameras I felt very safe in the area the bed was super comfortable and all of the towels an bedding were in like new condition I did not use the stove or microwave as I did not need them but the refrigerator again was spotless I would recommend this hotel in a minute If ever back in the Kansas City area I will be staying here again

After the longest, hottest day driving w two little kids…to find this gem on a whim was the best!!! Jackie and the front desk is the sweetest, most professional person I have meet in so long Good customer service is so rare nowadays, and she went ABOVE and beyond to make us feel “at home” My Place Hotel I hope you know what an impeccable representative you have greeting your guests! I am a loyal My Hotel fan now and will be staying at them our next two nights on our trip!

S G

Gushing reviews for this place MUST be fake! First, this hotel is an “economy extended stay “(says this right on the sign),had I known this I would have never booked it but since it was $140 a night I thought can’t be that bad Well, this place is run down (starting with the dirty/worn carpet in the lobby), rooms aren’t horrible but are quite humid and uncomfortable as the a/c units aren’t great But mostly the area feels sketchy

I felt very uncomfortable with my packed car parked in the lot overnight after I saw some men just loitering Can’t believe I paid that much for this place that doesn’t even offer free breakfast The staff was friendly and can’t help that this place is low-rent

What a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating! The rooms were smartly decorated and the ambiance was warm and comfortable Breakfast was so satisfying, very delicious! We also spent plenty of time in their open air spa tub (available to all guests) We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and romantic weekend!

Jordan Rose

Really enjoyed just hanging out here! Big comfy rooms and bed, hot tub in a screened in porch which we tried during the day and night Both were very spa like The back yard had lots of greenery and was so peaceful

Breakfast was AMAZING and Charles the owner is great Highly recommend Just need to make the water pressure better in the shower That’s my only suggestion!

Marne

I’ve only just met the owners of the Inn, but I had SUCH a fantastic time meeting with them to plan a baby shower I’m hosting at their place, I already felt comfortable giving them a five-star review!! The place is literally AMAZING, I don’t think I could find a better spot for my friends shower if I had a whole year to do it! Just a lovely couple running a lovely establishment, we CAN’T WAIT to have our shower with them!!!

I stayed at Unity Hotel on 3/18/22 for the first time because I just randomly booked a room through Choice Hotels I didn’t expect to stumble upon such a wonderful place to stay The staff were all true definitions of servant leaders focusing energy on helping those visiting

The amount of warmth and the beautiful spirits within everyone I came across was a wonderful surprise The energy within this hotel was calming and for the first time in over a week I actually slept through the night The decor throughout the hotel was beautiful and the rooms extremely clean and kept up I look forward to visiting the hotel and Unity Village in the future for a retreat Thank you all for a perfect experience!

From the gorgeous, expansive campus, to the neatly and brightly arranged rooms, to the hot complimentary breakfast, to the excellent staff, you cannot ask for a better accommodationThough a bit outside the city, it’s proximity away from the hustle and bustle is actually an alluring feature of the hotelAnd one of the best features above all is the sprawling campus and gardens outside the hotel

I dare say you’ll find a perk like this at any other hotel The nearby fountains, gardens, and nature trail were intimate and complemented the hotel perfectly Following a breakfast comprised of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and fresh lemon cucumber water, my family and I were able to explore and relish in the gardens/fountains all to ourselves I also like that the building itself operates more like a boutique than a large chain hotel Everything just seems personalized just for youI sure hope this place is able to stay open because this is the place we want to stay at whenever we pass thru KC

Daniel C

I can’t speak highly enough about Unity Hotel and its staff Check-in was easy/quick and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful I didn’t expect to find such a gem but was happy to book this spot for a short stay

Enjoyed the breakfast very much as well as the nature walk path outside Saw fireflies for the first time which was a small treat Would 100% book here again

What else can you expect from a Marriott property other than absolute beauty and perfection Residence Inn implies or suggests a longer term stay than what a usual hotel booking would see, and wow are these places equipped for that! The in room refrigerator is a shorter version of the full-size you have in your kitchen at home, but I would venture to say three times larger than one of those “mini fridges” you had in your college dorm room There are 2 stove top burners which are glass topped

There is a powerful microwave above the stove, a 2 basin sink along with a full size dishwasher All of the appliances are brand new or new enough to make one think they are brand new The office/dining/living room area features a high-top table and 2 tall chairs, a business area with large table top desk space, and a full size couch complete with end tables even The bedroom is a separate room with a locking door The bed is HEAVENLY, probably the best sleep I’ve had in over a decadeno_joke! The vanity is single sink where there is another door into the shower/tub and toilet areaI would absolutely recommend staying if you have the means and quality is Important I WILL be coming back

Kerrie Jordan

The staff, from the manager to the courtesy desk to the cleaning staff, were all amazing The hotel is clean, rooms are nice, breakfast has many options and dog park area is a great perk We had a house fire and stayed at this hotel for a few days

Only reason we changed hotels is because someone tried to steal a catalytic converter out of one of our cars The location sits back in a quiet area Even with security guard on staff they still were able to make an attempt to take the converter They damaged a flex hose, didn’t get the converter, but we felt if we returned another attempt would be made The staff, however, were just simply the best They were all friendly and helpful through the entire ordeal

Globetrotters Ltd

Felt more like my own apartment ;)This was one of the nicest rooms/ suites that I’ve stayed on my annual trek across the US as a snowbirdIt’s tucked away in a peaceful location, has a huge breakfast/ dining area, all contemporary finishes throughout, and the suite has TONS of drawer space/ storage of one is seeking a long term stay And, warm continental breakfast

Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing getaway The only downside to our stay was the loud guests, which the hotel can’t control We had the theme suite and it was lovely

We did have to ask for more shampoo, as there was only enough for one person But they kindly gave me more! The room was very nicely decorated and the view was very nice Breakfast was really good, better than most hotels This was my second stay and I would definitely go back 😊

So, it’s a hotel You want clean room, safe property, some conveniences like a microwave and mini-fridge, snacks, a bar, ample parking, you get those things What makes this place great is the people

Everyone I had to interact with was wonderful and always gave me the feeling that I was important and that what I had to say, they wanted to hear It was really nice From check, to the night shift worker giving me directions, to the guy at the bar and even the person who was taking care of my room, everyone was great This is a good place to stay by yourself, with a group or with your family I highly recommend and I will definitely make this my hotel of choice for all of my visits

Briana Schmidt

Great location, clean hotel, super friendly staff, amazing room (get the king with the whirlpool tub — worth it), AND, our favorite was that they have “adult swim” from 10-11pm There was a large group of teens at the hotel during our stay and, as kids do, they were all over the pool having a good time Adult swim hour gave us the time to just … chill, as adults like to do, without the craziness of kids being kids

If you need somewhere to stay in or around Kansas City, definitely pick this one It’s just far enough away from the big city to stay safe and quiet but also close enough to enjoy what the city and surrounding areas have to offerWill definitely book here next time I’m in the area 10/10

We really enjoyed the hotel The breakfast variety was really nice and suprising The hot breakfast was always changing each day and not your standard eggs, sausage and bacon everyday

The room was nice and clean We did use the fitness center multiple times and it had plenty of space, free weights, heavy balls, yoga balls, bikes and treadmills Pool was not overly large All staff was extremely nice and helpfulWe would definitely stay at this property again

Dan Huisinga

Friendly staff Front desk, breakfast, housekeeping, and maintenance all seemed to enjoy giving us great hospitality and cared about making us feel appreciated during our stay Loudest and slowest elevator i have ever been in but it worked fine

Clean as expected at Hampton and the cleanliness in the pool area was above any i have experienced in any hotel

A Sayers

I was a little hesitant based off of the reviews However I really enjoyed my stay My family and I stayed four nights for a football tournament

When we got our room it was really nice and it was clean, sanitize and smelled refreshing The first night they forgot to put housekeeping for both rooms so I had to call them All the staff were really nice and very helpful My kids and I are really picky when it comes to breakfast but we all enjoy the foid They had a variety of different sides each day, and they kept the eating area really cleanThe only thing that bother me was i held the room on one credit card but when we got to the hotel I had to switch it to a different card and the Lady never informed me that there will be a hold on the first credit card but she did say that it would drop off when we checked out Sadly that was not the case my first credit card was charged again the day we checked out as well as the second credit card that was supposed be charged was also double charged at check out I called them to verify the credit card that was supposed to be charge, and they confirmed the second card They said it take 5 to 10 days for the fall off my credit card balance smh It doesn’t make sense to me because if that was a case I would’ve just kept it on the first card instead of switching it to the second card so now I have a hold on two different credit cards

Beds were some of the most comfortable I’ve experienced at a hotel The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the smell inside the hotel hallways It smells strongly of urine

On 2 floors 🤷‍♀️ Like the hallway floors need to be seriously shampooed Staff was great Room was clean Fitness center was good sized Just smells really bad in common areas

M

Arrived at hotel and the unkempt grounds were a red flag Holes in window screens were not impressive as well In the room it was immediately noted that there were no top sheets on one bed

The shampoo dispenser was empty, a dirty wash cloth was present in in showerBreakfast was a joke, only a few muffins and coffee Nothing hot in the serving trays Overall a very underwhelming experience Cannot recommend this property

Kathleen Deutsch

Our room was huge The bed and floors seemed cleanThat’s it for the positives

Toilet dirty I ended up cleaning it There was no way the cleaner didn’t see the excrement in itShower rusty, paint peelingCentipede running around bathroomFridge had no freezer compartment, was iced upNo hot food for breakfast, and what was there was not fresh The orange juice machine had a sign, saying that it had stevia in itNo room refresh Had to go to desk to get toilet paperTV a disaster Very small channel selection, and picture kept freezing upWhy didn’t I complain? I called them 5 times, and no one picked up I did the “chat”, with IHG Their advice? Call an 800 number, which also didn’t pick upAvoid

The room was good enough, though I’ve experienced better for sure The shower head was on the short side, I’m 6’2″ and I had to lean over to get my head wet The pressure was high too, like a fire hose

Some might like that, it was a bit too strong for my liking This hotel didn’t have free breakfast, which seems almost standard at many similar hotels these days At least there are many good options for food near by (got Lamar’s donuts instead, highly recommend) I prefer to stay at another hotel near by in Independence, but the prices were super high for the Chiefs playoff game I will choose the other hotel next time I’m driving cross country

Tamara Meyer

This hotel was fantastic It was clean, all of the staff was very friendly and was eager to assist any of our needs We had customers and staff stay at this hotel and they had nothing but good experiences

I had stayed at this hotel several times throughout almost 2 years because we had events next door Every time was a pleasant experience Unfortunately, the event venue was not the same inviting and accommodating experience We had to move our event that we have several times a year to a different location I am sad to not be staying at this hotel any longer but I know the next hotel and conference center will bring us a great experience as well

Bryan Maiman

The room was a little small but nice I liked the layout And the loveseat and foot stool was a nice touch

Much more comfortable than the norm No microwave though They also came in and “freshened up” the room when we told them we didn’t want anyone in there during our stay There’s also no complimentary/continental breakfast I’ve been to far cheaper places with much better breakfast options that didn’t cost extra Wifi was slow 🐌 too3 2/3s Stars
