Go Elsewhere !Whirlwind trip through Louisiana and had a much better experience in the Red Roof Inn in Monroe the night before for 50% lessLOUD – rooms next to interstate off ramp are SO LOUD – avoid them at all costRoom was sub-standard in every way except for bed, Peeling fixtures, mold – you get the idea

The one bright spot was the young lady at the front desk who was cheerfulWould NOT stay here or recommend

Very dirty My 3 year old daughter found chewed gum… there was brown junk on the chair Pink stuff splattered on the bathroom wall

The bathroom floor was soo sticky No hot water in the shower Tape all over the ceiling… if we hadn’t been driving for 16 hours straight, I probably would have had the energy to go somewhere else On the plus side Sheets were the cleanest part of the whole room Didn’t see no bugs

When first walking into the lobby it was nice & cool and smelled nice It seemed to have been upgraded, possibly recently The woman at the front desk wasn’t specifically friendly but wasn’t rude, just seemed like she wanted to be done for the day

I arrived closer to 5pm and was exhausted myselfWhen I got in my room I was immediately hit with warm, moist, moldy air and odor I went directly to the AC to turn it down It is Louisiana and I realize it’s hot and muggy out, so I didn’t think too much of it at that moment The AC worked but did nothing to take away the humidity from the air It was so humid that the carpet was wet and I wasn’t able to walk around barefoot or set anything on the floor The bathroom and entryway tile floors were still wet, I assumed from them being cleaned recently I was there for one night/two days and that tile floor and carpet was wet my entire stay, that’s how humid it was in the roomThere was no door to the shower and seemingly no fan in the bathroom (that I could locate anyway) The bathroom got so steamy that every inch of the bathroom was covered in condensation and/or water that had splashed everywhere outside the shower with no door Th made it impossible for the humidity to clear out The wallpaper was moldy and peeling off The paint was peeling The legs of the sink vanity were all warped and peeling because they were getting wet while I was taking a shower as well The shower was filthy Even the blankets & pillow were slightly dampUnfortunately I wouldn’t recommend staying here There are better stays down the street

Reservation cancelled without any notice The front desk staff seemed to know the name of the reservation and yet they claimed it wasn’t there We had 5 rooms booked for two nights! There was a terrible smell when we walked inside

Women’s bathroom in the lobby was a mess No tissue or seat covers The snack store was completely picked through and not restocked In the end we are happy to not be staying in this hotel but having to drive an hour away to another hotel is a major inconvenience

My husband and I stayed there for 3 nights It is very well located, 2 minutes away from the mall and 5 minutes away from the Downtown areaRooms were very nice, clean and comfortable

I’m giving 3 stars because there are so many things that could be better and could’ve made our stay more comfortable1) The carts to take the luggage to the room are broken We were attending to a wedding so we had the gift, our dress/tux and some other things besides our regular bag so it would’ve been easier to just take it instead of going back and forth We didn’t realize it the poles weren’t securely attached to the base and it broke our wedding gift (Luckily we had the mall across the street to replace it) But you may want to take a couple of trips instead of using the cart2) We saw pictures of the pool and it was very nice and the bell boy mentioned we could go swim in the afternoon and it closed at 10pm which we thought it was great I asked at the front desk if it was open and they said yes Our surprise when we got there was that it was GROSS Green and mossy, there was no way anyone would get in there, there was a toy at the bottom of the pool, bugs, leaves It was just awful So we just hung out on the patio which is really nice We notified the front desk and the answer was just “oh yeah, we noticed, sorry about that” It would’ve been better if they had said from the beginning that it needed maintenance because we had canceled plans to just chill at the pool and once we got ready we had to go back and chance to regular clothes and we missed the family lunch3) We stayed over the whole weekend and the restaurant/bar was “closed for the weekend” Thankfully we took some snacks and drinks and there are supermarkets around if you need water, drinks, etc just to have in your room Yes, there are bars and places to eat around but sometimes you just want to chill at your hotel and have a drink there It is a shame because their menu looked good4) Costumer service could really improve Every time we asked for something they seemed really unhelpful and not showing any interest of at least being nice Even when we walked in or out it was hard for them to smile and reply to our “good morning/good evening” Also, I understand that because of Covid housekeeping is upon request but when we asked for fresh towels they told us they were out of towels because a sports team that was staying there used them all I walked out of the bedroom and saw the house keeping lady and asked her if she had 2 bath towels and she kindly offered to take them to our room when she was done cleaning a room that had checked out, did not mention at all that they were out of towels or anything and she took us 2 full sets of towels5) This is just me, but the wedding day was pouring and my husband asked for an umbrella to go bring the car to the front to pick me up and not get wet and same “we don’t have any” I think those areas of opportunity would make the hotel 10 times better because it’s got so much potential and we would be willing to stay there againUsually Courtyards are really comfortable hotels and enjoyable, so I think it has a lot of opportunity to improve and make things right with just a few things that would make a big differenceWould I recommend it? If you’re looking for a place to just sleep, yes Maybe we just went on a bad weekend for them which considering we’re on summer holidays it would be weird for them to be unprepared

Stayed one night while husband delivered a load to a nearby distributor The staff were very nice and answered all questions The lobby was clean and welcoming

The room was clean and bed was comfortable Air conditioning worked great and didn’t have to work too hard because of the ceiling fan That was great!!! Bathroom was clean and orderly with good water temp and pressure Breakfast had standard hotel breakfast offerings of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, waffles, various fruits, oatmeal and yogurts The area was clean and kept very orderly the whole morning The coffee and juice area were also very good Will stay again when back for another delivery!! Also located next to two good eating establishments This place did not disappoint

Percella Snyder

We were greeted by a friendly clerk and check in was simple The hotel is clean and smells fresh Our room was also clean and the bed was comfortable

The air wasn’t as cold as my husband likes but it was perfect for me Every time we stepped out of our room we saw someone cleaning It’s an older hotel but for the price it can’t be beat Lots of restaurants nearby If we come again we will definitely stay here

Sydney Alexandra Horn

I stayed here for a night and I can say never again The beds were nice but everything was very questionable Cracks in walls and ceiling

Bathroom was gross, dust buildup and grime from where it looks like the bathroom hasn’t been cleaned Very noisy The hotel itself had a very bad smell This hotel is old and outdated Good service, very nice lady up front and good free breakfast in the morning Better cleaning and some TLC and it would be better Would I recommend anyone to stay here…? No but if it was for an emergency not bad

I had the opportunity to stay here a couple months ago, driving in on business The front desk staff, a gentleman at the time, was exceptionally friendly and helpful when I arrived The room was spacious and clean and cozy, in fact

It had a great desk spot for me to set up my laptop and get some work doneIf I could provide any helpful criticisms it would be, 1) There was a little one-person couch/chair in the room It would have been nice to have a little table next to it 2) The shower head was likely older and wasn’t putting out water very well and squeaking Possibly needs an upgrade 3 There is a train that runs along the East side of the building, I believe The couple/few times it passed, I was on that corner and my room shook I realize there isn’t anything the hotel can do about this, just something to note for other guestsI tried a different hotel on my last visit to Hammond and was not pleased at all So, I’ll be back to the Holiday Inn on my next visit to Hammond Thank you for your hospitality!

Samuel Segal

First time at this location, lovely hotel Only down side is to got to the hotel, you have to enter at the light next to AT&T and drive behind the two restaurants blocking the hotel I believe there is a set of train tracks close by as well

However very good sound proofing in the rooms, the bar and restaurant were open with a good selection of both drinks and food Breakfast is a buffet style layout with a fresh selection of food

Barry Graham

It is a decent hotel, especially for the price Parking is an issue It seems a lot of contractors were staying there when I was so the lot was overrun with large trucks but I was still able to get a spot every night

Some cars were parked a lot further away Bring your own soap and shampoo, the ones they leave for you are the smallest I’ve even seen! they are actually so small they are cute we kept them as souvenirs With plenty of stores nearby and easy access to the interstate, I would definitely stay here again

I go there occasionally with a larp group, and we have a great time This place is a tad tricky to find It also has snakes around, so be careful

They let us use a nice little facility with a pool as our larp headquarters If you ever get the chance to go, do so Be respectful, clean up after yourself, and enjoy the site

This place is AWESOME! Turn of the century house and it’s in great shape The rooms are nicely renovated and super comfortable 10 min walk to downtown restaurants, bars and shops

The owner Lee is super sweet and it was so nice of her to get me in last minute I’ll stay again and recommend to my coworker when he covers this area 5 stars is not enough

Diamantina B.

My husband and I had a lovely time The owner, Lee, was very sweet, helpful, and one heck of a cook! Her full southern style breakfasts were to die for! We had some lovely conversations, however she is not intrusive We had a wonderfully private, romantic, and fun weekend

House was built in 1901, it is an interesting home to explore, rooms are spacious, and clean We would love to visit again

Carter Mauctions

I had a wonderful weekend getaway at Hughes House One of the best B & B’s I’ve ever stayed at and I’ve tried many all over the country Miss Lee was very helpful & accomodating without being intrusive

I really enjoyed sipping a wine on the shady front porch & the swimming pool looked great – I’ll have to come back in the summer monthsMy room was big & comfortable like the 4 poster bed Breakfast was fantastic & included in the room rate FYI – the rates are very reasonable!I’d definitely recommend this place to stay

This place is a great get away for relaxation It’s really for couples, but my daughter and I went I had the room that had the jet tub, and not all the jets were working, but still got to enjoy it

The room is large, clean and decorated nicely The staff was super friendly and accommodating The bed was heaven Literally, I need that mattress in my life It was firm, but not so overly firm it hurt, but I woke up in no pain Which was a new experience for this “old” 52 year old body The screened in porch with the rocking chairs was extremely peaceful, first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee, listening to the birds sing The big house is beautiful inside The only con was breakfast It wasn’t that great And the choices weren’t many But, the view was beautiful, and so we’re the plates and silverware I would give it a solid 45 stars out of 5

Lois Russell

The room was lovely, the bed comfortable The shower stall was tiny, the bag of ice in the freeness a solid block I had to use my nail file to break it alert for drinks

No one in the main house had a clue about much of any The frayed cord on the hair dryer gave me a nasty shock! The owner wasn’t in the least apologetic and grudgingly brought out an alternate dryer so I could make it to my daughter’s wedding in time I’d give the accommodations 4 stars, the hospitality zero

Rudee Meanee

Overall nice venue and romantic bed and breakfast they truly follow health guidelines beautiful scenery water statue fountain lush bamboo area plenty of parking the inn keeper jack was nice and he showed us around the property beautiful roomsOnly thing make sure that you hot sauna is not out of order or being maintenance onJust do a quick check first and quickly called management if you can not reach them leave a urgent message for them and let them know about any issues that occurred on your stay Inn keeper David was awesome and understanding to issues that occurred and he took care of it immediately Thank you guys for a great stay my husband and I enjoyed our valentines day and night

My room was very clean Bed was comfortable Sheets were decent quality

Room had almost everything: fridge , microwave, hair dryer, table and chairs, coffee and maker, liquid shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc I was a little afraid of noise from adjacent truck pilot station, but this wasn’t bad with ac fan muffling it (I sensitive and always travel with earplugs which I wore) Check in and check out were fast and courteous So why not 5 stars? 1 Room has no lamp on nightstand or nightlight, so you find your bed in the dark after you turn off wall switch 2 Wall AC was enough to mask most outside noise, but these type AC are a bit noisier than I like Overall a great value for 4stars in this area

I stayed a month at this hotel, under unfortunate circumstances and I was struggling to find a safe place to stay at instead of being abused

the staff was extremely vigilant when it came to keeping me ” hidden” and even put my room under an alias The owners were very compassionate and they allowed me to rest and take time to process my near death experience I am grateful to all of themThe rooms were spacious yet cozy, wifi worked very well it was under the circumstances, still a good experience and I would stay with them again, just under better circumstances

M

I have stayed in worst not really the best placeProbably would have given them a 4 start but they charge you a extra 25 bucks for an incidental fee I hate extra fees like these and will always give a bad review of them

Actually they need some incidental events so they can fix the place up better Nothing in the room is worth 25 bucks lol
