Cleanliness was an issue 2nd floor hallway was heavily perfumed with automatic sprays The room has a mustiness to it…

Automatic sprays didn’t help the room So pretty sure the hallway smell was masked by the air fresheners Was only staying 1 night so not a big deal We went out right after check in to enjoy our day Got back late The bathroom looked like it had patch repair water damage and the wallpaper was peeling After about an hour in the room we noticed that around all the baseboards there was a line of what looked like cat litter And then there was cockroaches We tapped out at that point We checked out and went to the Fairview Very clean thereAt this Hilton I booked a double room and got a king handicap assessable room instead That part isn’t a big deal but the fact that I had all these issues in a room I wasn’t even supposed to have and not get a full refund is ridiculous My room rate was $244 including tax I wasn’t expecting the tax to be refunded but was expecting to get the full room rate back I was only given 30% backSeriously reconsidering being a Hilton Honors member

Deidre Mitchelli

The carpet in our room reeks of urine that is masked with cleaner that creates a sticky residue So “floor is lava” at this hotel Very disappointing, luckily the window opens to let fresh air in

The bed is comfy thankfully Unbelievable at this price point to have a room in this condition and very unusual in my long history of Hilton stay

Ryan Wenger

Staff came to our room asking if our 7 year old son was jumping around because they “received” a noise complaint and asked for him to stop It was 3:30 pm on a Thursday I said ok but was bewildered there was an issue

My son walks quietly (did not run at all) but did jump from bed to bed twice Later that night my son told me that on the drive to the hotel that morning he was super excited to go to a hotel but now he was super excited to leave the hotel He asked why did they get mad at him when he wasn’t making a lot of noise It broke my heart because I remember how exciting it was to go to hotels as a kid and they took that from him To make it worse, the pool was shut down by the health inspector based on the note on the pool door When my wife asked about it when we were checking out the next day, the staff denied it and said it was closed due to maintenance Again There was a note from the health inspector that says he closed it down The staff was either lying or completely unaware of what is going on in their hotel Add in the fact that the elevator was past due for it’s inspection and made some curious noises made this a terrible end to our trip I’ve always had great stays at Hilton Garden Inns in the past and this is not a negative post on them but for this specific hotel I highly suggest finding another hotel to stay at, especially for families

It was so cool to stay in this historic house! I can’t believe how inexpensive it was compared to hotels in the area The streets surrounding it are walkable and have beautiful trees and buildings The property has a little outside garden area and it adjoins to the nearby park that was beautiful and on the water

This location was more than anything I could have expected The house was like staying at your grandma’s, very homey The staff was so accommodating, they met us for a late check in and made us an early breakfast both days just to fit our schedule

Nora Truscello

We did not stay at the Bed and Breakfast but instead had a wonderful afternoon tea there Upon our reservation we were informed we would be the only guest in the large dining room She only seats one party at a time

The assorted sandwiches and desserts pail only to the selection of excellent teas We had a wonderful time taking our granddaughter to her first official tea The hostage made our granddaughter her own P&J sandwiches with different jams She even provided her with a punch served in her own tea pot The house was built in the 1800’s and the décor and collections was a perfect fit for the house I would gladly attend again

Melissa Castillo

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Terry House in historic New Castle, DE The house was built in 1860 and is furnished and decorated with lovely antiques throughout the property The service and hospitality was stellar

From the moment I spoke to Sue on the phone to book the reservation, I knew we were in good hands Breakfast was tasty and we enjoyed eating it in the dining/ tea room Overall a very pleasant stay

Nice hotel with huge marble staircase Good check in experience for a late night arrival Room was spacious but bathroom somewhat small

Had to go back downstairs to get makeup remover wipe as none in room Breakfast is on the second floor which is a little odd which I did not eat and there is coffee 24 hours which is fresh grind every time Nice experience and I would recommend to any traveler

Unfortunately our stay at this hotel was the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had There were 20 to 30 people having a wild wedding after party in the room next to ours I went downstairs to ask the manager on duty if he could ask them to please quiet down since it was midnight

He complied with my request and initially the crowd was cooperative but several of the guests became belligerent and told the staff that as soon as he left they were going to resume their party That is exactly what they did The noise made it impossible to sleep until almost 2 o’clock in the morning We specifically booked this hotel because we thought it was a well run facility and would enable us to get a good nights sleep We feel that spending $270 on this type of experience is ridiculous When the guests became belligerent the staff should have called the police and had them removed I asked to speak to the manager upon check out but was told none was available The gentleman at the front desk was disheveled and disinterested and offered only to leave a note for the manager I’ve yet to be contacted Upon check in they make you sign additional paperwork promising to not trash the rooms Evidently this is a recurring issue Stay away if you need a good nights sleep

This hotel is in a great location for getting into Philly, and has many restaurants around We were greeted warmly and the breakfast, although nothing special, was fine Our room was clean and well-kept

So why is my ranking low? Because this hotel is trying to pull the wool over their guests’ eyes in a completely ridiculous wayWhen I registered, I was told that I needed to electronically sign off on a $35 per night credit for any food we might take out of the (very nice) snack closet I did so, and a number of other notices, in tiny print, came up I glanced at them, but the clerk was talking to me at the same time, so I didn’t pay much attention (I know! My mistake!)We were assigned a handicap-accessible room, which was fine, although it did mean that there were only two small hooks in the bathroom, and thus no place to hang up our larger towels I thought that was too bad, as I usually would hang my towels up and save the laundry usage, but we couldn’t So we left our towels on the floor in a pileWhen we returned from our day in the city, we were surprised to see that our room hadn’t been cleaned and the towels had not been replaced When I went to the front desk to report the mistake, the desk clerk informed me, “Actually, we only clean rooms that are occupied by the same people for more than one night every four days” I replied that I hadn’t been made aware of this, and he said that it was listed on the electronic signature form I had signed When I protested that it would have been simple to just tell me when I checked in that this was the policy — like many travelers right now, I can understand that housekeeping help is hard to find, which is what he said the problem was — he said, “Yeah, the owner told us not to tell people, because then people will protest, so instead, he had us just stick it in the signature page so you don’t notice until it’s too late” Then he and the other desk clerk snickered together — yeah, got me, I guessI asked for the manager’s email address to be in touch with him, but I ultimately realized that I’d rather complain to Hotelscom (which I did, as I booked through them) and make them aware of the problem, and to let you, dear reader, know that this is the vibe of this particular hotel As I said, it’s too bad — such a weirdly underhanded thing to do in an otherwise pleasant place Anyway, that’s why they get 2 stars from me!

Everything about Whitewing was first rate Our room was attractive, well stocked and ideally located for social distancing and privacy The breakfast was exceptionally good

We skipped lunch on the days when we had breakfast Last, but not least, our hosts are great company It’s why people who always select B&Bs prefer them over hotels If you like meeting pleasant and interesting people, this is a place you shouldn’t miss Linda and I will be returning in May And no, this is not a paid endorsement

Tom Miller

We stayed 2 nights at Whitewing Farm and were treated like family by Lance and Sandy The welcome was warm and comforting On our first night we asked for the charcuterie board and were treated to an adventuresome creation of flavors, artfully displayed

It was better than any steak dinner The accommodations were very clean and comfortable Located in a beautiful setting, what’s not to love? We will be recommending Whitewing to all of our friends who want a true getaway

Marisa Gonzalez

Lance & Sandy both know just how to make their guests feel at home The moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and couldn’t wait to explore the gorgeous grounds We enjoyed a beautiful picnic prepared by Lance by the pond shortly after arriving, which was the perfect start to a lovely stay

The room was so cozy and breakfast in the morning was such a treat We truly can’t say enough good things about this place and the wonderful people who run it! Thank you for having us and we can’t wait to return

I attended a Marriage Retreat during my stay here this past weekend (02/18-02/20) I understand that other guests will be there during this time However, this is one of the WORST experiences in my life

From kids running around in the halls and all times of the night, open beer and alcoholic beverages being left opened around kids from adults in the atrium, to broken elevator switches There was no security on the premises Only one clerk was there overnight during this weekend d The hotel manager NEVER showed up and there was a wedding there as well I mean this was utterly UNACCEPTABLE! How could you not have staffed this correctly? How could not even try to have a maintenance fixonf elevators when you were told that children have been playing with the buttons and causing disruptions Parents acted like they weren’t responsible for their children’s behavior That’s not the hotel’s fault but there needed to be some security or someone to maintain order Kids were knocking on my door at 2 and 3am, just for fun Being charged $370 for what? For this experience? Absolutely not! And on top of that, the hot water for the showers were almost nonexistent Felt like I was washing dishes while washing myself The marriage retreat was awesome The Hotel Experience, was absolutely horrible I strongly recommend you rethink making reservations here The staff tried their best but it was too much to overlook

shikera wilson

My family and I have loved going to this hotel for more than a decade, and we’ve all passed the love to our children It is a 👍🏾 place for the kids to swim and enjoy a nice free HOT breakfast, unlike that continental trash offered at other places They are clean and the staff is always professional and nice

I only took off a star because you now have to ask for all housekeeping services and literally beg for towels, which shouldn’t be for those who stay multiple nights

Darvon Bartholomew

Terrible stay The room was dirty white stains on the chair, desktop sticky Sheets dirty, urine in elevator

Kids with no shirts running all around the hotel,People take my word for it this was such a bad hotel We booked 3 rooms for two nights as we came for a family affair It was so bad I went to front desk to describe the condition of my room but the guy at the desk didn’t care He said no refunds He was very nasty never even looked up We took the loss and notified our credit card company we checked out and went to another hotel and we were able to sleep without feeling dirty This hotel could never get above 2 stars because it’s TERRIBLE

It’s supposed to be a smoke-free establishment, but I could smell cigarette smoke everywhere especially in the hallways like it’s burnt into the carpetingWe choose this location because it was pet friendly and they have an indoor pool, but because of the pandemic, the pool is unfortunately closed I understand that, but I wish they said it on their website or wherever they’re advertised

Also because of the pandemic, there was no daily cleaning/servicing of the rooms so quite a few people decided it was okay to leave their garbage in the hallsThere’s a restaurant and bar available that serves breakfast for an extra fee

Joshua Terenzini

If you look at my review history, you’d see it’s very seldom that I leave a bad review We were treated terribly by one of the front desk employees (never got her name) and the room (147) smelled terrible of cigarettes When I asked for a different room, my family and I were treated absolutely terrible

There were plenty of nice hotels in the area; do yourself a favor and stay at one of those!

We were very comfortable at this hotel The staff is very nice and everyone was accommodating when we needed anything Special shout out to the kitchen staff – the breakfasts are truly outstanding! We stayed for several days over Christmas 2021, and had a chance to sample several of the dishes

Everything is made of fresh, delicious ingredients The portions are generous There’s a range of options; many are super healthy If you’re wondering, I’m not an employee – I live far away: )

This places was disgusting First of all no one seems to ever answer the phone when calling the front desk I checked in on July 2, 2022 for one night

The hallway did not have any a/c and it was extremely warm with a foul odor Upon walking into my room, it had a foul odor as well The bathroom sink had a huge crack in to that leaked onto the under cabinet of sink and onto floor The shower had no grab bars which is a huge hazard especially since the shower door did not close all they way which caused water to gush onto the floor of the shower making your floor towel soaked The couch had stains on it and the carpet looked dirty I paid almost $200/night for my room which I feel like I got robbed bc my room was disgusting This Sheraton must do better especially since they’re charging so much for their nightly rate

Danielle Reily

This hotel was a dump Our arrive check in time was for 3:00PM Our room was not ready until 3:45

When arriving to our room it smelled like someone had smoke a whole pack a cigarettes in there the night before The hotel tried covering it up with some kind of strong spray The pillows the towels everything smelled like smoke The room is outdated Costumer service was horrendous Don’t stay here

The first thing I look for is cleanliness and I give this hotel a 5-star rating for cleanliness Our room was spotless and the air smelled fresh Continental breakfast in a cute little breakfast room

Centrally located and only 10 minutes to Longwood Gardens Restaurants close by One suggestion put a deflector on the AC The unit is low and the air blows right on the bed I would use this hotel again

Twofor Breakfast

It’s a solid 3 star hotel The hotel doesn’t try to be more than what they need to deliver The location of the hotel is undeniably its best feature

10 mins from the longwood gardens, an awesome bakery just outside the hotel, and some highly rated restaurants down the drivewayThe rooms were clean, dust free, smell free, it does need some updating in regards to carpets and tiles in the bathroom The door didn’t lock properly and needed a little push or pull to lock properlyYour stay comes with a basic breakfast, but if you are staying for the weekend there is a great bakery just a short walk awayThe service was very nice, they try their best given the circumstances

Sammy

Brandywine River Hotel is a nice Historic Hotel located in Chadds Ford PA The rooms are nice and clean The bed was very comfortable

The fireplace in the room we choose was a nice touch although for the room to be called a suite I thought it was a bit on the smaller side The hotel needs to update their carpeting within the rooms and throughout the building The hotel staff was friendly checking in and out went smoothly For breakfast they serve a continental breakfast of coffee, tea, bagels and pastry’s, otherwise I would suggest eating outside of the hotel for better breakfast options Overall this was a decent hotel, nice and quiet located in a beautiful area Longwood gardens it’s just an 8 minute drive away! If you plan to visit Longwood call the hotel and they will offer you a package deal for entry into the Gardens

Adequate parking Great location for a meeting connecting to a convention center Food is good Handicap accessible rooms don’t all have walk in showers or even a shower with a low lip A tub with bars attached to the wall is not adequate

The service at this hotel was very friendly The morning manager who prepares breakfast everyday for the buffet is professional courteous and downright one of the nicest hotel managers around We came in from Brandon for a wedding this past week and we’re treated to the kindest service and a delicious breakfast every morning

Thanks for a wonderful stay we really enjoyed our stay

It was ok good is to much and bad isn’t good enough The staff was fine the bed was comfortable but the shower floor was so dirty I wanted to wear shower shoes I made the mistake of trying to split my hotel bill on two cards and the girl completely messed it up

I ended up with pending charges of well over $300 on one card and nothing on the other (Wow) how she did that I’m not sure We had to call to for the error to be fixed We just wanted a one night getaway from our everyday life This place was not worth $230 dollars I did enjoy our dinner and a movie and just a chance to relax

I had higher hopes for this hotel It is in a convenient location, and the hotel itself is very unique However, I had some personal items of mine that were thrown away by housekeeping

When I brought it up to the hotel, the just didn’t seem to care This was very frustrating because these items were never recovered to me Additionally, I had a roach in my room during my stay I unfortunately do not plan to stay here again

THEY HAVE BED BUGS!!! My boyfriend surprised me for me birthday with a 2 day getaway at this hotel The room we stayed in was called the Ashton, our stay was from Sunday, May 15th until Sunday May 17th We didn’t even stay for the whole second night, because I was bitten by a BED BUG

I took a shower and laid on the coach that was in our room, I immediately was irritated and scratching my legs My boyfriend checked my body and removed the cushions from the couch and there was a BROWN BED BUG We took pictures of the BED BUG and my bitten up legs, we left the room immediately and took our clothes and another shower We had to sleep in our car for the remainder of our stay I am now breaking out because of these BED BUG bites We stayed in our car from 1 am until 7 am, we spoke with Ann at the front desk, who claimed she never seen a BED BUG BEFORE and told us we wouldn’t be compensated for our second night a least The hotel will not give us any money back!!! She informed us that she would speak with the owner, and we weren’t able to speak with the owner Ann stated that she will contact the exterminator and proceed that way She called us back by noon and stated that the hotel will not drop the pending transaction My boyfriend is losing his 611 dollars for a BED BUG INFESTED HOTEL Do not stay here !! It’s disgusting, they’re not properly cleaning up I have no reason to lie, I’m having anxiety from this No one seems to care at this hotel about the horrific night we had today It’s terrible I will never stay here again

Sleep quality and comfort was perfectionThe staff we encountered was very welcoming and warm I would absolutely return here if I were ever in the area again

The hotel was close to campus and thedesk staff were pleasant There was an awful moldy smell in the hallways (several different hallways, over two days) The beds were okay, but not super comfortable

And, the “restaurant” offering breakfast was all microwaved food Overall, the hotel was clean and the rates were great But, I don’t think we’d return unless other options are sold out

Friendly staff, spacious and great location However seems a mismatch to have old thermostats in such a modern hotel, especially if they don’t work Got to the hotel at 11:45 pm after a long drive on a winter night

Thermostat did not work Waited for about 30 mins, no luck It was a close to 1:50 am when I finally got another roomManager told me she would call me since she had just got to work when I checked out She didn’t

Laura Forrester

We checked in for our wedding weekend, and learned they gave our suite away to someone else They put us in a normal room, s offered to charge us for a normal room rate (as if this was helpful so we weren’t paying the suite rate that we booked, no duh) and comped the second night Also not helpful since the suite was supposed to be complimentary on our wedding night since we have the Marriott a 50 room block full of paying guests

Next, I went to my room to sleep for night #1 after a long rehearsal and dinner I just wanted to go to bed There was dirt all over the beds I brushed off before going to sleep I will be sharing pictures with the hotel tomorrow Thanks for ruining my stay and grossing me out during my wedding

Staff at the front desk was nice and accommodating Location is great The room was dirty

It looked as though the room had not been vacuumed or really cleaned They did give us fresh sheets though Well, on one of the beds The other one was missing sheets when we got into bed and no one was answering the phone at the front desk No shampoo orconditioner in the room (when we called, they didn’t have any so we were given a partial bottle from another room) The AC in the living area had to be serviced and the plugs in the bathroom didn’t work Parking is also sub par Not enough spots for the number of guests Overall, we probably won’t stay here again I can’t imagine what it will look like in a few years with the lack of cleaning!

When I arrived to my room, it had a strong smell of weed I requested to be moved to another room which was fine but the sheets on the bed in the room were not clean and they only had 1 set of towels I the room After requesting more towels in the morning, they didn’t have any available

We didn’t get towels until that night I have seen much better breakfasts at other hotels as well I expected significantly more from my stay Wouldn’t stay again

Being someone who rarely posts negative reviews, I felt very much compelled to give my candid feedback on my experience during the check-in at this hotelWe arrived on Memorial Day morning and was appalled by the rude and impatient receptionist at the front desk The young lady was visibly displeased that she had to cut short her break and attended to us at front desk

She declined to check us in by telling us that my credit card used for reservation, which was already paid in full, was denied by her system to serve as incidental charge card She refused to take another card I proffered and made me call the booking agency I used and resolve the mix-up, which I didn’t quite understand the whole time, by myselfShe made no attempt to display any professional courtesy to make us feel welcomed at all She almost willed that with her horrible attitude we would turn around, walk away and leave her aloneI feel obliged to highlight the incident and the individual since such an occurrence and employee do not belong to the highly regarded Hilton franchise and the hospitality industry in generalThe one star review applies squarely to the above referenced individual Having said that, as a receptionist at front desk she represented the hotel more than anybody else Her behavior and attitude unfortunately reflected very poorly on the establishment she’s supposed to represent

Stayed a couple nights to visit Longwood Gardens The hotel is minutes away Very nice hotel

Clean rooms and a friendly staff The breakfast has numerous hot and cold selections The young ladies taking care of the breakfast were very personable and made sure the area was clean and organized We did not use the pool but it looked very nice Lots of parking and restaurants nearby

KIMBERLY PAUL

Not impressed at all! The comforter and sheets smelled like garlic Did you even change the bed sheets? Only staying one night so not asking for new sheets I’ll just sleep on the chaise

Thought we would enjoy the pool until we realized the pool filter didn’t work Gross Wanted to use the exercise room but didn’t trust its cleanliness after seeing the pool The hot tub was nice but the timer is broken and the bottom tiles are dirty and gross I haven’t even gotten to the breakfast I’m hoping it helps redeem our stay at least a little This was supposed to be a birthday getaway for my husband and it has been a HUGE disappointment I wanted to like this place but so far, I haven’t found anything worth bragging about I’m not interested in staying here again

Great experience Received a text asking if there was anything that I needed before arriving I asked about an early check since I was there for a wedding and Sabina said that would be no problem

Upon arrival Sabina was friendly and attentive Had me checked in and ready to go in under 5 minutesRoom was nice and spacious Everything I needed was there I was there for a wedding but if I had to be there for an extended visit it would have been perfect I didn’t have time to check out the pool or fitness room so all I know is that they have themOverall nice clean spacious room and friendly staff made for a great stay

This place gets the job done but if they want to go to the next level, they should improve the amenities and facility #1 improve the breakfast experience as far offering hot and fresh food options If there is no kitchen on-site consider building one and outsourcing its operation

#2 You must provide a way for guests to park their car and enter the hotel without going back outside However, the staff is excellent, kind, courtesy and helpful They are doing the best they can with cards that they have been dealt I recommend staying here but lower your expectations as far as amenities $$

Sarah Beaumont

Nice downtown location Great if you need to use the nearby hospital Some delicious restaurants nearby

The hotel needs to take a little more care of their customers They need to space out young families and those who are not traveling with small children This hotel does not have great insulation between rooms so they do need to think thru tWhere they place there guest for a guite nights sleep

Vasileios Tsiropoulos

A bit pricey compared to competitors, if you take into account the additional costs (parking, water bottle charges, no breakfast) Also it is not located in the best part of the city Next time, I will try another hotel in the town

The staff was extremely friendly and the room was clean and modern

Such a hidden gem, when we needed a hotel to accommodate our family for a five-month stay it satisfied all our immediate needs Nice sleep, meals, fitness and great staff The suite is like an efficiency apartment with kitchen and living room combo

They have a beautiful lobby area with a fireplace and not to mention the business center to take care of any urgent business matters

Pixie Colbert

Reply to hotel response: yes This is the correct hotel They were directing people to park in the planet fitness lot about a block or two away or to park in the slashed lined areas, including the blue handicap spots

They didn’t have any response when we said we will not park in blue slashed areas that are designated for handicap folks to have space to accommodate physical needs while getting in and out of vehicles There also was no diamond member parking which, my guess is it wouldn’t have mattered anyway Initially though, yes probably one of my favorite homewood suites yetOriginal review:Clean nice hotel Breakfast was not good, no meats at all either Not enough parking – they were telling people to park on the handicap blue lines

Disappointed When we arrived the first thing the innkeeper said to us was that we were early and that check in is not until 4pm Not the best greeting you should receive

Our room was very nice but the inn smelled of mold Breakfasts were also disappointing very small portions Usually inns provide tea & snacks in the afternoon there wasn’t any of that We won’t be returning

My wife and I had an incredible 3 day stay at the Bed & Breakfast in March The breakfasts were unique and phenomenal The character of the house is amazing

Downtown West Chester is minutes away with what seemed like a 100 restaurants to choose from Throughout our 3 and 1/2 day stay we saw couples exploring the grounds to have their intimate small weddings there and my wife and I are definitely planning our next corporate seminar there Lori and John are the absolute best hosts

Mary Albert

My boyfriend and I stayed in Isabel’s room for three nights in February Despite it being the midst of Covid we had truly the BEST time Not only is the Faunbrook lovely, extremely clean, quiet and comfortable, the Innkeeper Laurie was a perfect host

The food was DEVINE unreal And Lori was perfectly present if we needed anything yet also totally gave us space to do our own thing We had the whole house to ourselves the week we were there and we enjoyed spending time on the porch and in the sitting room singing- we had full use of the Piano On our last morning another couple was there for breakfast, Laurie accommodated our needs of social distance by seating us in the sitting room and serving us there! She also left delicious homemade cookies for us throughout our stay We WILL be back and could not recommend this place more! It was the exact getaway we needed We loved the beautiful bathroom, the outdoor area is beautiful and close enough to walk to the town We didn’t even have a car and we took the half hour walk to the town many times to explore

Amazing! Stopped into the historic bar for a drink and it was breathtaking! A walk around the lobby gave us insight on the history and also local attractions currently happening The bar is part of an elegant restaurant, but you will be served if you are casual Lots of activity

Lively room with true craft cocktails Very impressive!

Wife and I have been coming here for decades for getaway weekends Why? The place is cool, the gym/sauna are uninhabited, and if not for weddings the entire hotel would be ours alone The people are nice, the macaroons a tradition, and the Green Room romantic (both before and after the renovation)

The bad: prices have been climbing; rooms not getting rehabilitated (yes gold carpet, I have seen you since the 90’s); and room service is often spotty on the weekends (best to get dressed and have brunch in the Green Room)

Sxmply CAS

Lovely hotel with a gorgeous lobby and restaurants on the first floor The staff was friendly and attentive Valet is sometimes slow and I would wait past the time given to get my car

I wish the rooms included a microwave None of the other reviews spoke about the renovated gym It’s probably the best I’ve seen in the hotel The rooms are fine except for the slow draining tub
