After a long day’s drive in below zero winter weather, it was great to be able to park in the warm underground parking garage! Our room was impeccably clean & it was nicely furnished We loved being on the 10th floor! The view of the sunrise was gorgeous from our window! The breakfast buffet was delicious The front desk attendant was cheerful & welcoming

We will definitely plan to stay here again if we are in the area!

Lee Myers

Very nice hotel room and facilities The desk people were nice and helpfulThere parking structure was full, but told us possibilities for us to park

They have a pool and small fitness center In the morning they had breakfast with different choices And the dining area was nicely decoratedOur room had a nice view of the city, unfortunately a lot of it was rooftops But the sunset was beautiful

The hotel was very nice and clean! We got just a standard king size room, but we still got a couch and floor to ceiling windows! The lady at the front desk was very nice, she was helpful and complimented us!The only downside to this is that parking wasn’t the best They were busy that weekend I think, so the parking garage filled up fast They also share a garage with Rise apartments, so it made parking a little confusing because Iowa City is infamous for towing cars and we didn’t want to get into a situation like that

When we got home from a night out we called the front desk, this was at like 3 or 4am and the lady (different than the one earlier, voices and attitude was completely different) on the phone was not helpful at all We grew frustrated because it was late, people were double parked in an already tight parking garage, and the lady was not helpful at all and told us I could just call tomorrow and get the parking fee taken off and park on the street I drive a brand new sports car so this was even more frustrating because I purposely booked a hotel that said they had parking availableEverything else besides that was great! We will definitely be back and this time we will keep the car in a parking spot the entire time so we don’t end up having no where to park again!

The rooms are very clean when you first walk in Every complimentary items that were needed were included with the room The pillows were very soft and had me feeling refreshed in the morning

The service was very pleasant and very welcoming The breakfast wasn’t the best but it was a great way to start the day The breakfast was heated and still hot after minutes of waiting The coffee that they had in the breakfast room and also in the hallway when you walked in was very good 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

Spirit Halloween Hangout

We came in by chance after traveling from California on a LONG road trip, and were exhausted I walked in and was greeted by a cheerful young man who was very welcoming He checked me in and explained all the ins and outs and listened to my exhausting details about my trip

He was so kind and went out of his way to give us advice on good places to eat while we were there and everything about his city and how welcoming it is! The room was huge and clean, and the most quiet hotel I have ever been in *many over 10 days!) I kept looking around to see if there were other people! Slept in peace and woke up to a nice breakfast of warm food Also the shower was strong with awesome hot water which is a plus for me! You have a family from Cali for life over there! Hope to visit again if we travel back to Jersey!!

Loreen Broderick

The check in staff was wonderful and the hotel was very clean and quiet I’ve stayed before and enjoyed it This time however the chemicals in the hot tub were not set correctly

All of our swimsuits from the shoulders down were actually stripped of color It was a little scary and though we scrubbed off well after we realized what had happened my skin was inflamed next day The staff apologized but there wasn’t anything they could do I did email Radisson along with pictures but never got a response The hotel is very good with an excellent desk staff but be wary of the hot tub

First time at this convenient location – quieter than I thought it would be! (Thank you to the parents of the many young boys’ sports team members for ensuring quiet at a decent hour 🤗) Had everything we expect from Hampton! The room was more spacious than some Would have liked a table on both sides of the bed

Appreciated the extra electrical outlets Clean, comfortable Sad the spa/whirlpool was out of order Very glad the bed had a seasonal (summer) comforter unlike some with very heavy ones I liked that the thermostat had constant fan for white noise Breakfast was the usual small egg omelet, bacon, potatoes, carbs (breads/bagels/cereal/waffles), yogurt, juice, nice small apples, coffee and tea Be aware breakfast is only until 9:00, unlike others that are later (almost missed it! 😱) Two closest accessible parking spaces are at an odd angle; others are available just around the front corner

mary she-her

Very well maintained, newer site with motivated and cordial staff, matched with a very nice room, low noise, in a safe community very near the hospital as well as sporting events at the University A perfect place for a lot of things Restaurants nearby have good to really good food with a nice variety, but in house breakfast is really good too! Just a friendly community in general both inside and outside the hotel

Christie Endsley

This is a GREAT location for anyone who needs to be at University of Iowa Hospitals/Clinics or on campus for leisure The rooms are clean Pool is managed

Exercise equipment maintained and free breakfast has something for everyone We have stayed here repeatedly over the last 3 years The only complaints we ever have is the floors could be vacuumed and other guests from above being heavy-footed

The hotel room was very nice👍 The casino was beautiful and spacious, and the variety of slots amazing Multiple restaurants within the casino for one to pick from

The staff extremely helpful and friendly, and although understaffed they provided a happy face and made one feel welcome The swimming pool was awesome!! The golf course looked great although I didn’t play it, I would have if I’d had the time to Two thumbs up! Definitely would like to visit this resort again

Went Riverside with friends The Golf course⛳️ was in great shape The pool area is great

You can be inside and outside in the same pool We ate lunch by the pool and enjoyed some drinks after golf too Great wait staff and good food The Casino offers a great variety of games Overall great place to go for a fun getaway with lots of choices on things to do I would definitely recommend it🙂

RJ smith

Really enjoyed our stay I’m not a gambler but gf is and she loves it here Free concert the weekend we stayed so that was nice

Food was good, the quick food items were really reasonably priced Room was beautiful, odd “shower show” design but not a negative Casino not too smoky but enough it got to me by end of the night That “exception” can’t get changed fast enough 🙄 Pool is too shallow but nice to look at and good for what it’s used for Hot tub not hot and jets not strong Very loud closing doors at the room Bed very comfortable but don’t plan on sleeping in Housekeeping was in the hall by 8 or 9 am both mornings yelling back and forth, working hard, but loudly It’s like they wanted us out already Very efficient but after a long night in the casino not cool to wake up to Sorry to jump around but overall a good stay

We stayed here for three nights in the 2 bedroom/2 bath suite It was perfect for our family of 4 The staff was all very sweet and friendly

Breakfast was good especially the biscuits and gravy Wednesday night social hour was nice, they offered hot dogs, chili, fresh garden salad, chips and cookies Also beer and wine was a nice surprise After a day out and having a huge lunch, this was all we needed for supper Pool and hot tube are small but was perfect for our boys (7 and 11) even with two other families in the pool area there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy If we are ever in the area again we will definitely choose to stay again

Daniel

Phenomenal service Kind employees that will go out of the way to help you The GM is engaged and it is obvious she loves her job

Clean rooms, great breakfast and excellent happy hour with appetizers I frequently use the gym and it is always clean and has enough equipment I travel to Iowa City frequently for work and this is the best place to stay in the region Highly recommend!!

Ja Chooz

It was really a nice day I have to say that the staff was super friendly and they gave us everything that we needed The location was great

There’s an outdoor mall with a ton of restaurants and specialty shops just outside the front door It’s walking distance from an antique car museum My only complaint is that we had what was considered a one bedroom handicapped accessible suite and it was on the small side The kitchen was nice It had a full size refrigerator and dishwasher A two burner stove with pots and pans and dishes and even a toaster A kitchen table that stuck out from the wall and then the entrance to the living room area had a big armchair just A short distance from the table which was impossible to get my wheelchair through The room with the two beds was impossibly small I could not use my wheelchair in there but the bathroom was big and had a nice removable handicap seat for the shower The pillows were too soft They started out fluffy but ended up pretty flat I had to send my husband to the store for a firmer pillow because they did not have that option Other than that we were very happy The room was neat and clean I would definitely recommend and stay there again

Great room Very clean throughout entire hotel Bed was so comfortable and the family slept well

They have a happy hour and served a few complimentary snacks They also have an area that has items you can buy They’re pricey but available if needed Breakfast was fantastic They had hot and cold breakfast A large variety to choose from The only thing was the pool is a bit small and many kids were swimming, diving, jumping, and doing back flips Adults were in there with alcohol and not watching their kids Not hotels fault but should have a sign for no alcohol in pool area Kids jumping and splashing water to the pool walk way had other kids falling just from walking Told the staff but nothing was done about it Everything else was amazing Worth the stay Will be back

Michael Murrill

We recently stayed at the Springhill Suites in Coralville It is a very nice hotel that is centrally located to other larger towns in the area The hotel has several amenities and our room was spacious and very clean

Every staff member that we encountered was very friendly and willing to help with any request The breakfast provided every morning was delicious and hats off to the staff who maintained it – when we were there, there were several families and at least one baseball team and their families and the staff kept the breakfast area well stocked The hotel is centrally located to several tourist attractions in the area and it was near the shopping mall We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again

I travel for work, so my hotel review is based on years of experience I can easily say this is the nicest Courtyard I have ever been in! Everything from the breakfast/bar area, to the workout room, to the check in area, exceeds all expectations The room darkening curtains in the guest room ensure a dark room for sleeping

Don’t hesitate to book a night or two hereMy only request to all hotel fitness centers is to have lower weights 4,6, 8, 10, 12 pounders please Women like to workout too! 😊

Samuel T. Larson

Nice room, mostly helpful staff, blah restaurant Otherwise nice stay spoiled by staff allowing event guests to park in handicap spots without permits Needed a van accessible spot for my daughter and she was allowed people to park in spots without permit

Lucky she hadn’t given them all away Not realizing that we actually have handicap plates she joked “don’t worry I won’t have you towed” Completely unacceptable and spoiled and otherwise nice stay

Daissy is an interesting, well-traveled person and her home is very comfortableShe is a good cook to boot! The location is within walking distance to downtown in a beautiful old neighborhoodI would recommend staying here!

Kolina Cicero

I stayed with Daissy for a total of eight nights over a three-week period while attending the Iowa Writers’ Workshop Daissy and her warmth and hospitality are as big a part of my memories as the rest of my experience in Iowa CityI expected to stay in a nice home (and I did) but what I didn’t expect was to become friends with my host

Over breakfast each morning, which was delicious every single time, I got to hear Daissy’s stories of her travels to 80+ countries Every dish in her house is from somewhere exotic Her home is filled with photographs from her travels I could have spent my whole three weeks just looking through her pictures and listening to her rehash her adventuresA Bella Vista B&B is walking distance to several restaurants, coffee shops, and a couple of bars, as well as a mere five-minute walk to campus I never had to use my car while I was there There’s a designated parking spot in front of the house for those who do have a vehicleI already miss Daissy and her lovely home I would never consider staying anywhere else in Iowa City!

Ann Klockau

Our first stay at A Bella Vista B & B was the summer of 2006 when we came for the Iowa City Jazz Festival We have been coming every summer since! Daissy’s hospitality is unmatched Her home is warm and welcoming, bedrooms very comfortable and breakfasts are delicious

A Bella Vista is within walking distance of downtown with a nice choice of restaurants and shopping What we look forward to the most when we stay with Daissy are our visits with her around the breakfast table We love hearing stories of her travels, growing up in Columbia and life in Iowa City And Daissy is always interested in hearing about our travels and latest adventures Over the years, Daissy has become like family and we look forward to our return visits each summer We highly recommend A Bella Vista!

Awesome experience staying at The Element! It was my first time ever with them and it seems to be a great hotel Loved the breakfast being free and freshly prepared right in front of you They also have free bikes to ride around

Coffee 24×7 along with the flavours kept at the reception Rooms are nice and newer Not to forget the Wine and Dine from 5:30-7pm, Monday to Thursday Enjoyed every bit of my stay here My shower didn’t have enough pressure, but considering all other aspects, I would still rate it 5 stars Do stay without a doubt

Sarah Aylward

First, the parking lot situation isn’t ideal It’s a public parking lot and it’s a bit confusing finding the right elevator, entrance and way to the lobby They need to improve their way-finding signage

Second, the room I saw online was much larger than the room I got Added to that, there weren’t currents, just semi-translucent blinds that let in way too much light, even at night The room looked over a courtyard where the condo building next door was having a party, so I wasn’t able to get much-needed rest until after midnight Then, the people staying upstairs returned to their room and paced LOUDLY for hours above my head until about 3 am and woke up again around 7 am I cannot believe I paid as much as I did to get even less sleep This place is over-priced, not yet complete construction-wise, and poorly designed I highly recommend going to the Springhill Suites by Marriott instead

Erica Keel

We were passing through and needed a pet friendly hotel It was really affordable, and only a $50 pet feeNice location in downtown

Starbucks right across the street The room had engineered hardwood floor in the entry and bathroom, which I love, and carpet where the bed was Kitchenette in roomBed was really comfy Room was clean Check in was easy Hotel has nice amenities-happy hour M-Th, free breakfast, gym, pool & a rooftop bar, which wasn’t opened in November but would be nice in warm weatherFor letting the dogs go to the bathroom, there’s a grassy area at the building across the street, which was handyWe would definitely stay here again!

Staff was excellent all around; friendly reception desk staff, and breakfast attendant worked with my request easily and asked if I had time to wait for her to make it rather than making me feel like I was imposing (oatmeal was out near the end of their serving hours and she made more for me) Good location near hwy 80 and lots of local restaurants and a walking trail across the street (behind the hotel) Rooms were clean and was great for getting computer work done

And I didn’t feel unsafe at the location

Cindy Van Den Top

The staff is super friendly and helpful but the hotel needs work It looks like they’ve started updating Our room had recently been painted and the corridor had new carpet, wallpaper and lights

The doors need to be replaced Our latch didn’t work well at all which made it difficult to open and close Doors to outside were also left unlocked or propped open Furniture in the room also needed replacement We probably wouldn’t stay here again

Sarah Hubert

The location was nice and it has potential to be a great place to stay but the property inside and out was dirty Cigarette butts everywhere outside on the patio area The pool was closed but we were able to use a sister property’s pool

Someone was smoking weed in their room and the whole 4th floor hall smelled of skunked weed The breakfast left a lot to be desired too Who serves scrambled egg whites?!

After a long day it was wonderful to get a evening meal without having to drive all over The staff were extra helpful, kind and considerate The room was clean and the bed very comfortable Yes I will be recommending the Drury Inn

Sparky Grunewald

I am a regular guest at number of Drury locations I have never been disappointed Recently, at the Iowa City location, I arrived just after the evening buffet had closed

I walked into the dining area to ask if there was any food available The staff assembled a nice meal for me which I appreciated very much My room was very impressive and the mattress may have been the most comfortable that I had experienced in years! The Brown Street Inn is beautiful and comfortable Christine and Doug are friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home They prepared delicious breakfast daily

We had homemade yogurt, fruit, granola, freshly-baked muffins, frittata, and french toast during our stay They put out cookies warm from the oven every afternoon that are as good as they smell The inn is on a quiet street with plenty of parking only a short drive to restaurants, shopping and UI The rooms are lovely and cozy and we enjoyed relaxing on their big, shady porch We will definitely stay here again

Chelsea Nakayama

I had a WONDERFUL stay at the Brown Street Inn! Mark and Bob were the most gracious hosts, the room was comfortable and adorable I had a lovely walk around the neighborhood in the morning followed by a phenomenal breakfast They are working on selling the place, so if you’re in the area soon, don’t miss your chance to take advantage of their hospitality!

Our hosts thought of everything to make our stay comfortable, welcoming and tasty The room was pristine, the bed was comfortable and I loved that there was a fan From the warm cookies at arrival to the extra blankets in the closet to the chocolate by our bed, the attention to detail was amazing

Hands down one of the best free hot breakfasts Fresh made pancakes, crisp bacon, delicious oatmeal, name brand yogurt, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, tasty omelettes This hotel knows how to serve breakfast right

The downsides? The sluggish and only elevator plus the hotel lobby that smelt pretty gnarly the first couple nights we were there My guess is the grease trap was being cleaned The smell is unmistakable I know it is something that needs to be done but please inform your guests in the future Room was clean and the service was descent Fantastic location

The pictures are way better than it actually is The bed in our room had deep imprints that you could see where 2 bodies laid The pillows had absolutely no support

In the shower there was a little mold in the ceiling and part of the wall behind the toilet was broken and peeling up The hot tub was not working but the pool was warm The front desk staff was super nice Over all it was just a little too run down for me and needs lots of updates I paid around $100 and there were nicer hotels for the same price Breakfast was just ok and a bit of a walk and a little difficult to find

I was a bit concerned after reading other recent reviews but was pleasantly surprised with the room We had a standard king room It was clean, comfortable and spacious

The restaurant was closed (on Sundays) but the front desk clerk said breakfast would be served in the morning I even did recon and searched it out the night before since we were staying because of a medical appointment the next morning and time would be of the essence To say it was poorly marked, as was virtually everything, is an understatement But I found it and headed that way at an ungodly hour the next morning Nothing No staff, no lighting, no signs indicating where to go We ended up next door at the Hilton where we were informed they’re “connected” and breakfast would be there for the day Apparently every Monday! I used to love to stay in hotels, but this is another reason, in addition to everything others have mentioned, why I do NOT!!!

The pictures were very deceiving This chain used to be the IT hotel…this is no longer the case The staff was great and the initial views of the hotel were very nice but once you entered the room…

The bathroom barely fit one person I had to use the toilet with the door open, the shower was wedged behind the door and I found a used towel in the shower The bed was very bouncy on rails and the pillows were trash I have a stiff neck and I couldn’t bare to spend a second night at that place I was happy we had to leave early

Definitely the best Hilton property we stayed at during our trip This is what you would expect from a Hilton property The staff was great, the facilities were well maintained, the bar and restaurant were definitely better than the other two Hilton Gardens we stayed at, by far

The staff were top notch I would say probably too 5 hotels I have ever stayed in, and I have traveled around the world and stayed many different places The place to stay if you are traveling through, or staying for a bit

We took a midweek break and spent a Wednesday night at the Highlander, it was the perfect combination of fun and relaxation! Our poolside room was inviting and the high top table right outside the room was great to enjoy the vibe of the pool area The drinks were top notch and the menu was great for sharing – street tacos, sliders and pizzas The Boom Boom Chicken sliders were so good, we ordered a second plate! A late night soak in the hot tub followed by listening to albums on a record player in our room made for a memorable night! Thank you Highlander for such a wonderful experience!

Susan Roeder

This is the best hotel in Iowa City by far Absolutely loved the pool and the rooms were clean and very stylish The free breakfast during the week is very slim

Would be nice to include danish (There is a wonderful French danish shop in town that everyone loves called Deluxe) and wish there was a “potato” option such as French fries ,etc on their menu for the kids Staff was simply awesome No complaints whatsoever Great job in remodeling this hotel!!!

Andrew Elder

Staff was friendly and accommodating They seemed genuinely interested in making sure you had a great stay and had what you needed Decor was really cool and unique

Pool area and courtyard were amazing Free snacks and coffee around the clock The mattress and pillows were unbelievably comfortable for what you normally get in a hotel PLUS very dog friendly! This will be our go to place when visiting Iowa City from now on
