I booked 3 rooms, got them on the same floor I wiped everything with my Clorox wipes and was happy to see no dirt or even dust! The bartender was nice, the restaurant was closed off but kitchen was still open, we ordered food and ate by the bar The location was great, restaurants in walking distance and the train to NYC was nearby too which is where we spent most of the days

Beds were super comfy…my toddler and infant slept well and my parents and in laws stated they slept comfortably Overall good experience here and will book again when visiting

Marianna Mansour

Had to book a block of rooms for several directors for a corporate offsite nearby Karen was very nice and accommodating Everyone was very impressed with their rooms

It was much more than they were expecting I liked my waterfront view, the comfy bed, and the amenities They even offered extending our rate to others outside our company who had to meet us in town Karen even followed up to make sure we were happy Service was excellent!

Our stay was mostly pleasant My biggest complaint is that two of the elevators need to be serviced The sensors do not work

For most of our stay we dealt with the doors closing on us as we walked in, but we dealt with it because it bumped either my husband or myself But when our four year old was pushed down into the elevator and onto the floor because the door began to close on her, that was not okay Thankfully I was able to put my arm and leg in to prevent the elevator from completely closing on her feet I reported it to the front desk They were apologetic and said they would have someone come out and service the elevator We checked out that same day, so I’m not sure if it actually happened Our room was okay We didn’t use the sofa bed because it was worn and looked like it needed to be replaced The bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly There was a lot of dust and a used Q-tip on the shelf underneath the sink where our “clean” towels were The shelf clearly had not been wiped in a while Thankfully, I always travel with Lysol wipes and Lysol spray I cleaned that area and we asked for a clean set of towels Would I stay here again, I’m not sure It would depend on if the elevators were actually fixed The other issues were manageable

The location is great (close to NYC public transit and never more than 1 min wait for a ride share when needed) The free parking is clutch! The free breakfast was better than expected (delicious pastries, bananas, yogurt, juice, coffee) The front desk was friendly and helpful

The only downside was the smell of the room, which otherwise was perfectly fine and comfortable If the room smelled better it would be a 5 star little gem of a place in Jersey CIty!

Shishteres Sheshutes

The location was good, quick and safe walk to the subway to NYC but very loud from the street next to the hotel Construction and traffic was going on all night Had small breakfast which was great

Loved front desk staff, really nice and helpful Didn’t like the smell in the hotel, it was outdated but pretty clean I saw a few ants in the room which I didn’t like Hotel was kind of loud too, couldn’t really sleep Some other guests were screaming, someone walking in the hallway constantly Some weird water dripping noise They let keep my car parked longer than check in/out time

I’ve been coming here for a long time If you stay for a few days you definitely will love it I’m sure!Stayed here for a friends wedding and everything and everyone were absolutely fantastic!! The rooms were extremely clean and smelled terrific (due in part to their no smoking inside property policy) The bed was comfortable and the amenities were nice! The entire staff, from the front desk to the bartenders were extremely outgoing and helpful Would definitely recommend and I would absolutely stay again!!

We stayed there with family during Memorial day weekend Car parking is $11 daily Breakfast is $20 per person

Having a great stay and this will definitely be my hotel of choice when I come back again for work Love having the kitchen in the room, though it’s honestly not even that necessary with the free breakfast and on week nights they give you a free drink ticket and some bread and cheese There are also a good handful of restaurants nearby and it’s right across from the PATH station

Great choice for any stay in the area

Josh Forsythe

Stayed here for short trip to NYC

Check in was easy, room was double studio Everything in room was clean and in order upon arrival Desk staff was friendly and helpful Public transit right across street, very easy to hop a train into NYC A few different dinning options with in walking distance, plus on site resturant with dinner options Would stay again

We are staying here for five days The place could use a new living room set but otherwise it is a nice place to stay Manhattan hotels prices have become outrageous and since we’re traveling and visiting both Manhattan and Brooklyn this place seem to be Central to where we needed to be

We have the one bedroom apartment I wouldn’t call it a room because it has a bedroom, a living room a small dining area, small kitchen and a pretty decent bathroom If you want to be in Manhattan and don’t mind a 20-minute ride on the PATH train, this is the place besides when you’re coming to a vacation in New York you’re not planning on staying in the room anyway Customer service is great! I met the desk staff and the cleaning personnel The restaurants that are here “Ah Pizz” for pizza and Five Guys, and right downstairs there’s a restaurant on location here at the hotel and other stores and pub places nearby

This place is clean, the bed is comfy and I love that they provide you a back pillow to give your back support while watching TV! The bathroom is quite small The bathroom door is barely able to open because it hits the toilet seat… really appreciate the parking garage! No free breakfast offered, and the food on the menu is quite expensive The only thing I wish they can improve is the indoor pool

It seems like the filter is not working properly The water is not clean, and it’s not heated in winter

Mariano Lizarraga

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times, however I’m not coming back I understand the prices and inflation have impacted the cost of everything but I was a bit surprised to see a very significant change on the cost of stay this time around However, I was dismayed to see that on top of the fee change, they have also eliminated the “free breakfast”; a permanent staple of this category of hotels

Next time I’m in NY I won’t be staying at the Best Western Premiere

Karin Chavez

This is the second time I stayed in this hotel I liked it very much But, the only thing is that I couldn’t use their phone to make international calls with room charge, or they don’t have the international phone cards or anyhting like that

So, as an international visitor it could be a problem if you have an emergency call to make A part from, everything was good

I have been coming here for years If you stay for a few days you definitely won’t be let downThank you to all the staff for this stay which you have enhanced by your kindness, your professionalism and your very high quality welcome Not only is the hotel well located good quality rooms with an extraordinary view of Manhattan and Hudson Bay (yes, a little paint refresh could be considered) but this is a detail that in no way changes the human qualities of your staff who really put all their power to bring quality and pleasure Thank you Note that the breakfast served as a buffet is of very good quality, fresh and varied We really had an unforgettable quality stay Looking forward to seeing you again very soon

Love the location of this hotel overlooking NYC So beautiful at night and walk on the boardwalk Convenient to the ferry to get to NYC with small fees

The room was reasonably sized The bathroom was dirty and the hardware was rusty Parking is located in a separate building Hotel will validate the parking ticket but it does NOT work We tried to scan the validate ticket at the exit and the bar code did not work No one was at the booth so we ended up paying full price I will stay at the other hotels where parking is more convenient

Quiet room Didn’t try in-house dining but I’m not crazy about “The Bistro” in general – not their fault Look forward to staying again ASAP! Thanks, Brick City Courtyard!!! ❤

I enjoy this hotel because it’s downtown so it’s close to everything I’m gonna need to do in walking distance The air conditioner wasn’t really doing it’s job and the tissue could be better quality

So, you should probably bring your own They have nice bottles in the shower you can use for washing, and your hair That was a new thing Compared to last year this was a better experience

Davon Diehl

Definitely a good idea putting such a high quality hotel in the heart of Newark Pretty pricey but worth it Super clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff, views are amazing, and many surrounding stores for just about anything you might find that you need

And right next to the Prudential Center which is awesome if you plan on making your stay that much more memorable Anything that helps highlight the great city of Newark I’m all for and this place does just that

My family and I stayed there for a few days while on vacation Andrea at the front-desk was AMAZING I had called multiple times prior to checking in about my room type

I was told by a young guy at the front desk he couldn’t help When I called back again to asked to speak with a manager Andrea answered and made everything great She assigned us to a room that accommodated all of our requests Andrea is really a great asset to this hotel Thank you so much Andrea for fixing this stressful situation because we had been driving from Florida to New Jersey

Great place for NYC tourists, 7 min drive via the Holland tunnel or 15 min ferry ride from port imperialVery clean, great staff, good complimentary breakfast, and most important free parkingTarget, Starbucks, chipotle and much more 5 min walk from the hotelHighly recommend

Rohit Sikand

Clean and quite rooms Cannot blame the hotel for the traffic and trucks around Entry and exit is definitely not a positive as it does seem from the back of the building

Staff is helpful absolutely courteous Rooms ( suites) are large and clean Need to advise the front desk of the room cleaning service in advance – due to covid restrictions and availability The suites have two tvs and switch on and off together ! Again not an hotel issue but need to align the remote close to the TV that needs to be shut else the remote controls both TV’s…Breakfast is typical – eggs were COLD !!!!

Breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary for a hotel, it was good Rooms look like they’re kept up with and they actually care about cleaning and maintaining them What made my stay over the top great was the lady that works the desk at night (didn’t get her name unfortunately)

She was super helpful and patient through the whole check-in and happily helped me with my 2-3 requests that I had throughout the stay Recommend this spot if you’re staying in the area

Dmitry Dolnikov

be aware that the rooms in this hotel do not have any kind of ventilation air in the room is stale and stuffy windows can’t be opened at all, there is no such option, by design, they are just air tight

imagine how it feels when you experience lack of fresh air and oxygen, increased co2 and decide if you’d like to book here i wish i knew this upfront and not chose this hotel ever

Carol Beynon

I’m not usually one to leave a bad review, but this place 0 stars I don’t know if it’s because we booked through a third party, but our room was filthy

It’s like they just came and made the beds and that was it… with comforters that had huge rips in them The floors and carpets had crumbs The bathroom floor had dirt and hair balls behind the door Oh and the microwave had dried up crusted food all in it It also reeked of cigarette smoke Thankfully we were only there two nights

PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK! They supposedly have it posted somewhere that the shared garage (only parking available) has no security and the Marriott will not be held liable for anything regarding your vehicle Parking garage is dirty, has skunks that roam at night eating garbage left behind and also has super small parking spots that make your car HIGHLY susceptible to being struck by another vehicle parking or just trying to open their doorIn addition to that, the website is VERY misleading

There is no bar, there is no food service (except 2-3 hrs in AM) and there pretty much is no amenities You’ll be provided with 1 coffee pod no matter how many days your stay is and not enough towels I’ve been there 2 years in a row and both time there has only been 1 working elevator If you are there for the convention center, and time between running back to your room and event is time-sensitive, do yourself a favor and stay next door They have food, bar, SEVERAL working elevators and much friendlier staff Literally every person working the front desk or managing at this MARRIOTT are miserable human beings

Angel Chapman

I chose this location as it was close to home but still in a nice area where I could feel as thought it was a get away I reserved a king bedroom for Valentine’s Day weekend I have no complaints regarding my actual stay but rather what took place after I checked out

After checking out I received notification of the hotel attempting to charge me $250 My bank declined it where they went on to then try for $200 that my bank allowed I called the front desk to speak with someone and was basically told a manager wasn’t on site and I would have to call back to speak with one After trying to reach a manager for 3 days, a general manager finally called me back She explained to me I was being charged the additional money because I had tea light candles in my room… I asked her how can that be when I was never told I couldn’t use candles I even told the check in host that I would be doing a valentines set up and still wasn’t told no candle usage was allowed The employee on the phone said to me “it’s in our policy” I took it upon myself to check the policy and the only things mentioned that I wouldn’t be able to do was smoke in the room Which I did not I explained this to the manager and she said to me “oh everyone knows not to” & still decided not to refund me my money… Ma’am what does everyone knows not to mean? I’m going by Marriott Secaucus policy which doesn’t state anything about candle use How can I be charged a smoking fee when I was never smoking?! The policy mentions nothing about candle usage, only smoking… as well as nothing being posted in the establishment about candle use, only no smoking signs… again I do not find this fair and have decided to take this matter to legal services after not being able to resolve the issue with a manager This hotel fraudulently used my card as I was not notified of any charges before hand and no one can tell me where in the policy it says no candle usage as they had previously claimed SMH so I am leaving this review so others know that they will find a way to charge you a “fee” after check out even if it doesn’t apply I have since disputed this with my bank because I will not pay a fee for something I didn’t do You should only stay at this hotel if you wish to have your card used without your permission for things you didn’t do For future reference I will reserve with another hotel for romantic holiday stays as this one will charge you extra for nothing

Izzy Cyn

Overall good experience, but if you’re going to put recycling bins in the rooms, then please actually recycle the contents inside When we went to one of the housekeepers and asked to dump our recycling, she told us to just throw it in the garbage and when we later asked another employee where we could dump our recycling, he told us he would take it just so that he could throw it awayOther than that disappointing element of the stay, the rooms were clean, the employees were nice, and we were able to get extra necessities without any hassle

Always a great place to stay during my trip to the big Apple! The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful Always trying to make sure our needs are met The front desk is always going above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and appreciated

Minus one star for the cleanliness of the rooms (not very consistent), but everything else is great!

Shereen

Service was awful (or racist) When I arrived I pulled into valet and was told to park across the street in the garage I told the attendant I don’t want my car in a garage its a brand new MB, I would like it valeted

He proceeded to tell me it’s cheaper, which it was not the sign said $50 for the garage and $45 for valet (it was The Fourth of July)I proceed to the front desk to check in and I would like to change the card on file I was asked “if I have enough money on my card” before switching cards how insulting!! I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be staying “if there wasn’t enough money on my card”My husband and I decide to bike on the Hudson then dine on the patio for lunch where the two host did not greet us but gave the nastiest look at me from my feet up to my head! After being seated my husband asked the gentleman was there an issue and he said “oh my friend wasn’t supposed to be at the host stand so we were just making a joke for him to go back to work” I lost my appetite after the third strike and left the restaurantI only stayed one night to enjoy the fireworks with my husband and endured all this chaos on americas holiday I guess I received the true American experience The only reason I’m giving this hotel 2 stars is because of the cleanliness of the room and the location

I was stopping in to use the living room as I have stayed at some W properties before and I was just looking to get some coffee and do some work They were filming a movie at the restaurant and coffee wasn’t available Joanne was at the front desk, and she offered to get me a cup of coffee and wouldn’t let me pay for it

As someone who also works for Marriott, we can use more like her Thanks Joanna! Can’t wait to stay the night at your property

Second time staying here There used to be a nice pool but they don’t use it anymore We had to order takeout from a local pizza joint because no food was offered here

But that food we did order was awesome So thanks for the recommendation! The room was very nice as were the people at the front desk The location is perfect for anyone either going to Newark Airport or the Cape Liberty Cruise Port just an easy 15 minute drive away Already planning on coming back here in January

This is a very business heavy location that seems to be focused towards quick airport travelers rather than people going on vacation The location to the airport is hard to beat and a major highlight if you are making a quick in and out like an overnight delay or a flight connection They only provide up to 2 breakfast meals for Bonvoy members so if you are traveling with more than two people in the same room (like children or 3 people like we were) that might be a downside

The main issue was the charges Parking is $20 a day which seems a bit much Also our final bill has some extra charges to our room that we did not make We were trying to notify the front office, but the front desk told us they would look at it later We didn’t have time to wait so we just had to pay as is or we’d miss our flight An unfortunate experience at the end, but a serviceable place for very quick 1-2 night stays

The hotel is nice and the rooms were clean It’s in a decent location if you are going to the airport Beware if you are using their shuttle service

Getting to the airport isn’t a problem Returning from the airport is a big issue that they really need to fix They say they run the shuttle every half hour, 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the hour The problem is they never show upMy family and I have been stranded at the airport 2 or 3 times The shuttle never came even after calling the hotel We waited over a hour and a half at the P4 location where all the hotel shuttles are located This wasn’t a one time issue, it has happened multiple times The first two times we had to call a cab The third time a nearby hotel shuttle dropped us off It’s extremely frustrating after a long flight, it’s late, and still have a 2 hour drive homeI’ll never rely on their inconsistent shuttle service again Do yourself a favor and make other plans to get backIf driving to the airport, be careful and pay close attention to the directions The roads can be confusing and one wrong exit can add 7 or 8 miles to your trip Our cab driver found this out the hard way

Prime location – access to so many different shops and entertainment Nice rooms and affordable I enjoyed staying at this hotel but the biggest feature for me was the pool area

It is large and the seating area was very accommodating BUT the pool has not been open since the covid shut down So please be AWARE IF YOU ARE STAYING FOR THE POOL, IT HAS NOT BEEN OPEN! I have not stayed here because since then So my rating may be outdated at this point But I’ve always called for various occasions to book and see if the pool was available and it was never available So for those looking to book because it has a pool, you might as well skip past this hotel

I had an absolutely significant experience at Meadowlands Plaza Hotel with my grandchild for a reunion- The hotel is located in a wonderful area and has free parking The interior was outstandingly elegant

However, the lobby could’ve been more clean Furthermore, the elevator was a little dirty and smelt quite odd- The king banquet hall was extraordinarily clean and exquisite My grandchild and their friend had to perform at the reunion and Nicole let them rehearse in another room She was remarkably obliging and kind :)- The staff was outstandingly helpful, sweet, and the service was very fast However, they didn’t wear masks- Our room was fairly clean and had air conditioning, although the curtain opener was a bit dusty and sticky- Breakfast is free There is a wide variety of delicious food and a few drinksI would undoubtedly recommend staying here or planning an event here!

Path station is right next to the building so commute is smoothRooms are pretty huge with great views and amenities (cooking , fridge, iron etc) (TV could’ve had better reception)Only thing that is stopping me from giving a 5 star was the limited breakfast options available and sugary juice (which splashes a lot when you try to pour in a glass) also, there was no housekeeping at 7in the morningRest, I would not mind staying here again

THE FRONT DESK ruined my whole trip I purchased the deluxe room (most expensive room in the hotel that comes with a terrace) I confirmed with several agents from residence inn if I have a Terrace with my Room and they confirmed I didFront desk approved of my terrace room even when I checked in

However ever my room came with no terrace My sister is a new photographer and I wanted to surprise her with a view of jersey city up high for her birthday The front desk ruined my stay by lying to me They tried blaming it on hotelscom which is not the case because I confirmed my room with the Marriott residence inn staff directly!! When I asked why can’t I have the terrace room which is at no extra cost mind you, They claimed another party was in there already and offered their deepest apologies Cough cough Bull !! I know that the room with the terrace was empty the whole time of my stay How I know? You won’t believe the evidence I have! I felt racially profiled against Trust me the general manager will be contacted as I have all employee names I’ve been in contact with Don’t get me wrong it’s a beautiful clean hotel, but this doesn’t cover for how I was treated

All perfect, really! The room is smallish, but big enough that 3 people don’t feel cramped This is one of the best designed rooms I’ve been in There are TONS of drawers, so my whole family unpacked

It would be way too tight for us to have 3 suitcases open, but there is no need for that with all the storage Super friendly breakfast staff too! There is a bougie grocery store literally right here, Sprove So on that day that you’re too exhausted to get yourself to a restaurant just go downstairs They have tons of options – sushi, paninis, yakisoba – all made to order Very, very friendly staff It’s not expensive, $10 for yakisoba that fed my teenager and IWhile the subway station is super close, be warned that it can be a bit confusing because there is a NJ system that is named PATH and the NY system, MTA You need to pay for separate cards for them We’re familiar and comfortable taking the subway, but this tripped us up The PATH unlimited card is only valid for 7 days, Mon-Sun So DO NOT buy one later in the week, it’ll expire 11:59pm Sun!Time: it’s going to take you about 45 min to get from here to Times Square If you’re here for a very short time, you may want to stay on the Manhattan side We were here for 10 days so it was fine, but if it was a super short trip, you’d spend about 15 hours a day on the subway to get to and from main attractionsAlso, the easiest spot to get to from here is WTC, then you change to get to wherever you’re going It’s not hard, but it’s a little bit tricky to know when you exit a station or not to transfer Use the app Citymapper We tried several and ended up lost This one was by far the bestAn Uber to get back here from Manhattan is EXPENSIVE, like $60+ (mind you a taxi from La Guardia was $65, and a much farther distance), so it’s not really reasonable to jump in a cab to get homeThere is an Avis rental car place super close So if you want to get to a Jersey beach, check for a car! I looked one morning and the rate was under $60 which is great for a day tripAll in all, it’s a great spot Have fun!
