I reserved a room for my husband for two nights as a quiet getaway from a rather noisy and hectic recent home life The hotel itself was fine and my husband was comfortable in his room for the first night However, this morning, he was treated to two straight hours of constant banging as some kind of construction was happening

His sleep was disrupted and we were given no indication at all that there would be construction during his stay, so close to his room The entire point of this stay was rest and quiet, and my husband is now further from relaxed and replenished than ever When he told the front desk that this wasn’t working and would have to leave early, they told him he wouldn’t be charged the second night (the very least they could do since he wasn’t taking up the room space) I feel like I completely wasted my money and my poor husband is so frustrated that he won’t even consider trying this again somewhere else I’m disappointed in Marriott for not letting us know that there would be construction, which would have been fine if he wasn’t at the hotel during the day, but he was and we would have made other arrangements if we had known To be clear, the construction is not the issue at all Construction HAS to happen to maintain the space But they should have told us when I spoke to them directly before my husband arrived so we could have factored that into our plans I feel like it was just a blatant money grab and this is the second major disappointment I’ve had with a Marriott in the last two years, which is upsetting as I have been a long time customer

I was here on business and only needed 3 night On the last day I lost my car keys They help me look everywhere for them

They finally found them for me in the bistro They saved me just over $1400!! The staff also wished me luck on my interview and sincerely congratulated when I got the job By staff, I mean everyone from the front desk, house keeping and maintenence!! If I could give them 10 stars I definitely would!!

I am a Marriott Ambassador (Lifetime Titanium Elite) level guest and I highly recommend that you stay away from this hotel I stay in Marriott Hotels over 200 nights a year and understand that things do not always go as planned but I can report that it is not very often that I say the hotel management DOES NOT care about the guests Over 2000 nights in Marriott hotels around the world and this is in the top 5 worst stays I have experienced

We spent a night at the Graylyn while in town to tour Wake Forest We loved everything about our stay! The grounds are amazing, and the Manor House is charming We had a room on the third floor with plenty of room for the three of us

We enjoyed some lawn games before dark (and of course the ice cream!) The staff were all excellent as well, very friendly and helpful

3/19/22 Stayed at the silo suite for my wife’s birthday Beautiful estate and room Didn’t go five stars and it will sound super petty

But for the lofty price, one of the few additional amenities, of which their afternoon cookies were included, was MIA We arrived at 4 to check in and: one you have to go get them yourself Two they were apparently out of the batter to make them the day we stayed Like how do you offer something at 600+$ a night and then not have it Otherwise it was a cool place to stay for a night Again If you have two things to offer at that rate Put it in the room for your customers on arrival Also, free water bottle or two would have been nice Simple things Paid less and got more at Fearrington house

Was here for a business trip Staff was very friendly and helpful Only issue was 5 people in one group and we were given rooms on 3 different floors

Amenities like gym and pool are very well kept Didn’t have time for golf but the greens are very nice and are also very well kept Very large ballrooms that look like a great space for weddings or seminars Was a pleasant quick stay and recommend to any avid golfers looking for a quiet resort with nice views and great service

Tracey Shrouder

I am surprised I was able to book my room because furniture market was in town at the same time The room was clean and ready early, so we could drop our suitcases before the massage The massage was great and I really liked the tech I had

The breakfast was amazing and the made to order buffet was delicious The beds were very comfortable and room service was up in 20 minutes with our food It seems like they have done some remodeling and refreshing, and it felt new and relevant again

This is the filthiest hotel I have ever stayed in! No kidding! The first impression should have been a red flag but we were in town for a wedding so we sucked it up Overflowing trash and a dead plant greeted us as we entered the lobby Our first room had clearly not been cleaned

The bathroom had hair in the sink, mold in the shower and a broken toilet flusher I called the desk to change rooms but no one answered the phone I went back to the lobby to request a clean room I don’t think that term registered with the manager Our second room was only slightly better At least the toilet functioned and the sink was cleaner We did not eat the free breakfast because that area did not look very clean either Even The coffee was just lukewarm so we just went out for breakfast There was a broken liquor bottle in front of the non working elevator When I told the manager about the broken glass, she nonchalantly said that someone else mentioned that too It was finally cleaned up but there were still shards of glass visible We never did get housekeeping service to our room and when we mentioned it when we checked out, the manager acted clueless and just said she was “new”The entire hotel needs new management and housekeeping staff as a minimumAvoid Hilton hotels if at all possible! There are lots of hotels that do a much better job caring for their customers

Taiwo Adeleke

This was a horrendous experience The hotel was dilapidated and dirty The rooms are small, disgusting, smelly and outdated

There was leakage in the bathroom and kitchen sinks Which were both full of hair I’m assuming from the previous guests The breakfast was revoltingly not edible The pool was closed due to a heating issue which was false advertisement The staff was very rude and not really helpful at all There were sketchy guys coming in and out of the place all the time I don’t know if they lived there or not There were tons of garbage bags filled to capacity piled up in the hallway overnight because none bothered to come take the trash out I would have checked out early but we were there to visit my dying uncle who is in hospice with stage 4 cancer I have never stayed in a motel before but I would imagine this is how mortifying it would be This place needs new management, new housekeeping, new maintenance and remodeling as soon as possible I would never recommend anyone to stay in a Hilton Home2Suites unless they are looking for a dirty motel 6 vibe This was unacceptable I would like to file a complaint with corporate as well

Tammy Anderson

This location and its staff were great They were very welcoming and accommodating During our visit to the AAU Junior Olympics, we booked with a different hotel chain and after staying 2 nights canceled the rest of our reservation and decided to look for better accommodations

We ended up in Virginia Beach, unfortunately due to last minute we were unable to find accommodations at your any of your properties on the beach, so we stayed at another chain no words for that property Luckily for us your location had rooms available when needed to be back in Greensboro for my grandson’s last event at the Olympics It was great, the best sleep, cleanest property, family friendly, quiet, accommodating and just overall experience we had on this trip It was well worth it Pay a little more for comfort

This isn’t a 3 star hotel, was a nice hotel once but now run down, mattresses hard as a rock, pick another hotel Order something for room service, you can’t even charge it to your room, what kind of room service is that!! Had better experience at lower end brands Stay at a Super 8 or Motel 6 it has to be better than this so called 3 star

Just stay at a 2 star lower end Marriott, you’ll thank me

Jimmy Jamz

How is this rated 40, makes no sense This is a 1/2 star, 39

99/night a hotel at best PICS ARE NOTHING LIKE WHAT YOUR ROOM WILL LOOK LIKE! Do not stay here, you will regret it If you do, bring a mask, sanitizing wipes, mop, cleaning supplies, gloves, and your own sheets/blankets/pillows Also be prepared to trash/burn everything you brought with you after you leave

Michael Holdcroft

I have no idea how this hotel has a 40 star Google review It’s pretty bad…like two star at best bad

The rooms are totally run down The maintenance is horrible The hall was flooded and stinks to high heavenI would expect much better from Wyndham This is Motel 8 quality See photos of our room for proof

Fine for a one night stay but the hotel is clearly struggling Our room was literally 90 degrees when we arrived and it took 60 min to cool down When we questioned the front desk they said it was either set that way by the previous occupant (really?) Or housekeeping

The room was clean The door didn’t close well but we managed to secure it It was $30 less expensive than other hotels in the area

Dre Horton

Simple, Good room for a good rate Right off the interstate Nothing fancy, just solid

Nice and clean They say the serve continental breakfast However it is Way better than the regular continental breakfast at hotels were you have to make your own waffles Shell gas station is close where you can walk to to get a snack or soda If you need wifi, get the password before going to the room as it is not listed in the room

Sarah Martin

Bed was clean and comfortable AC worked Breakfast was your standard hot breakfast—no complaints

Afternoon/evening staff and cleaning people were friendly, polite, helpful Plenty of towels for the outdoor pool Our door nearly impossible to open Required multiple tries with card entry Place is def older but fine for a one-night stay Two ladies at the front desk in the AM clearly did not want to be there Lots of SMH’ing at children from them Again, not vacation destination but okay for a quick overnight

We were driving to South Carolina from Ontario Canada and this was the perfect place to stop after about 12 hours of driving The hotel is simply fantastic We have never stated in the hotel with such a big game’s room and an indoor half court basketball court

I can’t believe they also had arcades, and my favorite game Street fighter was thereMy teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed the basketball court while I waited for them playing the arcadesThe service was impeccable as well This was all the way from check in to check outWe stayed in a room with double clean beds and a full of sofa for the five of usThe hotel was also very close to a number of coffee shops, which gave us a few more options in the morning

Alexander Bohn

It’d be hard to do better in Winston-Salem! We hosted a number of wedding guests here and everyone had a fantastic stay The hotel block was easy to organize, the hotel was prompt in providing updates, and during our stay everything was lovely – the room was clean, room service tasty and on time, and the front desk was extremely helpful, particularly in our search for a lost packageThe building itself is quite stunning, though it’s clear they’ll need to invest in some TLC soon to keep it that way given the through (and stylish) renovation is now 6 years ago

But that won’t stop me from a 5-star review, we couldn’t have asked for much more

Darrel Greene

Fantastic hotel with incredible service! Katherine Restaurant is top notch and food is amazing! We stay here every time we come to Winston-Salem and continue to have a great experience! Highly recommend especially if you have kids because of the recreation room in the basement There’s half court basketball, pool table, bowling alley, ping pong table, stand up video games and more Rooms are always clean and hotel smells great no matter where you are

Style, design, service, amenities, food, and a great staff make this Winston-Salem’s best stay

Very nice hotel The staff is friendly and the room is updated and clean A VERY nice free breakfast is included

Please note, the rooms are small Perfect for a single traveler or a couple but not more than two adults if you have stuff and need privacy (only the shower and toilet are in a separate room) I’ll definitely keep this place in mind, but not when there’s three adults

Don Huggins

Awful customer service and bad communication between management and employees The employees are unfamiliar with choice hotels and sleep inn policy As a diamond member of the choice hotel franchise I do not recommend this facility for the best accommodations

I was told by the evening attendant my late checkout for diamond members was 2:00pm The next morning I received a call out of my sleep at 12 noon threatened the cops will remove me if I don’t leave the facility This threat was giving before any explanations and without accomadations to prepare for leaving I have spent much money at this facility to be handled this way as a diamond member

Great staff and very helpful people They accommodated my Service Dog with ease The conference I attended was great with plenty of room and good flow between event spaces

The parking choice was valet for $25 or Park on Your own across the street with a walking sky bridge which worked for me The food was great with many options Room was beautiful 😍 Would stay here again

Mandy

The location is great Everything is easily acceptable by foot The elevators work well and are quick

They handle large crowds with grace and efficiency It smells amazing! The rooms are just standard rooms though Two beds, a mini fridge that doesn’t get very cold You can’t adjust the ac lower than 67, which isn’t too warm but it feels warmer in the rooms than the temp suggests The TV remote wouldn’t always connect and there is no microwave The shower was really nice and had multifunctional heads

Don’t pay with cash here or ask for a hypoallergenic pillow if you’re allergic to feather ones! At this Marriott, it seems all of the employees are able to only do things specifically listed in their job description! At check-in, the employee became very put out because I paid with cash and her whole demeanor changed She said “it’s not my job” to make change Once someone gave her change to give me, she handed me my receipt and room keys without another word! Late last night I realized all of the pillows on the bed were feather ones and I’m allergic

Since it was late, I used a stack of towels as my pillow This morning before 8:00, I went to the front desk to ask for a hypoallergenic pillow I was told housekeeping didn’t come in until 10:00 I started back toward the elevator because I planned to get back and rest while I could (here for a convention) But as I stood waiting for the elevator, I thought in a hotel this size someone had to be able to go get one pillow When I went back, the same employee was sitting in a side office on his phone When I asked if there was someone else who could get a pillow for me, he said he was the only one working and housekeeping wouldn’t be in until 10:00 So in an 18 floor hotel that’s packed out for the convention and a wedding, he’s the only one working?!? The worst part was his snooty attitude After looking at other recent reviews, it doesn’t seem like I’m the only one who’s noticed how unfriendly and condescending the staff is toward guests

Review for 4/5/22I really want to give this place 25 stars or a low C I don’t hate it but no, I wouldn’t come back

Came here for the High Point Market and got this hotel, last minute Close to downtown, I walked here from the conventionIt’s okay-ish I didn’t wake up with bed bites and I checked due to past reviews but I didn’t see those black spots under the bed and didn’t see not one bug That’s why I put the date up because for me bugs, roaches or overall cleanliness was not an issue for meStaff is good and they have free beer, soda and water for guests No issue with the staff being rude, as some others said All of them were niceSo why only 2 stars? The bed was hard and uncomfortable I had trouble falling asleep because the mattress feels like cardboardYou can be good at everything but the main job of a hotel is to provide a good nights sleep and I struggled hereCeiling fan also didn’t work and the room get very stuffy even though it was 50 degrees outsideThe bathrooms…also uncomfortable It’s not that they’re dirty but they’re small and crampedIt has a fridge but my water barely got coldLiked:StaffShuttersNice custom furniture piecesLocationCharger outlets by bedProperty kept niceCleanDisliked:StuffyBathroomsBedTemp ControlOverall, for me the room wasn’t that comfortable That’s my biggest gripe But maybe I’m like princess and the pea and you’ll fall right asleep

I would say just this “For a 2-star hotel is a 5 ⭐️ “Startin with nice personal, owner himself checked me in, nice straight forward guy!Room was very clean, with everything working properly… they even have USB charges, witch my last 3 stays didn’t had…A small shower, but v clean One of the best stay in the area…

Don Ball

The owner is really nice but he also is blunt and to the point As long as you act okay things will go smoothly The rooms are extremely clean and nicely decorated

The rooms are also a little small if you’re used to bigger hotel rooms this is a motel People have said that people come up to you and bother you at this hotel but they do not I was there for one week with the wife and that one person approached us We stayed the second week of February of 2020

We had a fabulous experience at Pandora’s Manor and would highly recommend! The Wilson room is beautiful and comfortable (and so is the rest of the house) so we were very pleased with how beautiful the house is inside and outside The front porch and outdoor space is lovely! The hospitality was also fabulous – we felt welcomed and Tina went out of her way to make us feel comfortable The attention to detail and amenities were wonderful

Our time at Pandora’s Manor was very relaxing and enjoyable We will definitely be back!

Melody Burnett

I was invited to a private dinner at Pandora’s Manor and it was exquisite! Chef Nico served amazing cuisine all in their state of the art kitchen that was comfortable, relaxing, open and fresh The furnishings inside are perfectly selected to fit the ambiance of this charmingly restored historic dwelling You can tell that the owners and management have a fine eye for detail and hospitality

My favorite has to be the wrap around porch decorated with intimate seating for socializing and relaxation When you picture southern hospitality, Pandora’s Manor is the perfect fit!

J C

Pandora’s Manor is wonderful! The property is historic, the rooms are exquisite and the ambience is inviting Pandora’s Manor is unlike any other property, but not for the reason you would think – comfy bed, luxurious linens, etc Pandora’s Innkeeper, Lisa makes this property what it is!! She is kind, gracious and hospitable

She went above and beyond to make us feel at home She even made us a delicious home cooked breakfast She is the reason you should book this hotel and I guarantee she will be the reason you re-book it There are beautiful properties on every block, in every citybut you won’t be treated like a queen/king, unless you stay at Pandora’s Manor!! Thank you Lisa for our memorable stay!

This hotel will tell you one price then after you leave over charge your card by quiet a bit The rooms were dirty there was blood on the wall of the bathroom in the room they gave us and staff was less than friendly to sat the least We were great guests yet treated as less than the employees

Although this hotel is in a great location and pet friendly I highly recommend going elsewhere

Update: I have changed from a 1 star to a 3 star We went back this morning to gather our belongings and the employee working Named Ed stopped us in the lobby and apologized for the bad customer Service the evening before He was extremely understanding and credited us for the rest of our stay

That is the customer service you expect to receive when paying for a service Ed, thank you for understanding and helping us as much as you could!!!The stay was going great until this evening Around 10:00pm the room beside us was extremely loud Music up, talking we could hear whole conversations In the hallway partying Then at midnight the stench of marijuana started seaping through our door We waited a bit to see if it would go away but it got stronger We had an infant with us and did not want her around this We called the front desk to be moved They stated the hotel was full We told them what was going on and they said they couldn’t do anything about it We chose to leave and drive 45 minutes away to the closest non booked hotel I am very upset at the customer service we received Hilton is always who we choose for business trips but this was not Hilton hospitality

Everyone employed there went above the call of duty

from Mr Dean as we checked in at the front desk at 1230amMs Jennifer that my wife talked with at the front desk to the young lady in the black shirt as we checked out, I didn’t get her name but she was as sweet as she could be I thought I had left my cellphone in the room (212) after we checked out and gave me another key to go double checkit was in my back pocket (DUH) AGAIN THANKS TO EVERYONE !John & Gloria

Extremely nice staff any issues or concerns are quickly addressed with absolute empathy I really love everything so far The rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable it has an at home slash business feel My heat wasn’t working and they wanted to give me another room but I liked my room and was willing to wait until Monday for maintenance to come to fix it

I just requested to extra blankets I received those from the kindest housekeeping staff I haven’t encountered in a long time Then the front desk calls me to tell me they were sending maintenance to my room to fix the heat I was so impressed because I didn’t mind waiting at all but he came fixed the heat and I’m grateful Thank you for going above and beyond for me but I didn’t mind waiting at all

This is my first and last stay at this hotel I had nothing but issues with it and some of their staff They were doing construction on the parking lot, which inconvenienced my stay in so many ways

The pool is tiny and there isn’t a hot tub The beds are comfortable Everything else leaves a lot to be desired Would not recommend this hotel We needed maintenance on three separate occasions The air conditioning was set to 60, but I was sweating We needed to leave the room to have the unit replaced The stay was so terrible, we got a night comped by the general manager

Kaylee Aleshire

Everything was okay with this hotel except that fact that our room was right across from the equipment room, which was a very loud area in the morning It was also pretty clear that our bathroom had been cleaned to a very low standard as there was an open soap bar still in the shower and the wrapping for it was next to the shower curtain Overall an okay stay, great for the price we paid, just could use some attention to cleaning and noise levels

This was my first time staying here about 2 weeks ago I’m sorry for the late review, but my experience was memorable! I mostly rated them a 5 because the customer service was amazing! Hospitality at it’s best!! If my memory serves me correctly, both Jennifer and Toni, were extremely helpful and I felt appreciated The room was breathtaking

I loved it! I had a wonderful sleep The only thing that really bothered me was the housekeeping lady kept knocking on my door asking about my departure time I asked for a 2pm checkout time and I was out maybe an hour earlier I feel like my time should have been communicated and no one should have knocked on my door or tried to open it I felt rushed to leave, and I did not enjoy my last hour Lastly, I would have loved for the Bistro to have better hours or more availability Still, I will return

We stopped and stayed here on the way to Myrtle Beach The hotel is modern and the rooms are spacious I am in a power wheelchair so it was nice to have a large room and a large bathroom with a nice roll in shower

Toni was very helpful with our check-in and answering any questions that we had They have plenty of areas to relax They have a beautiful courtyard with plenty of seating along with seating on the inside of the hotel The only downside of this hotel is that there is no breakfast It is made to order and it is a little on the pricey side However, we had a great experience and would definitely return

Kellsey Galart

We stopped on a trip home and paid $310 for one night Pool is not open, room has duct tape holding together the trim in some areas, beds are super soft so not sure how well we will sleep Thought about leaving but would be pit the $ for the room and have to pay for another room

plus got to pay for breakfast? What am I paying over 300 for amenity wise?Update: My 4 year old pulled a Jack Daniel’s bottle and boarding pass out of the couch/pull out bed, pulled back the bedding on one of the beds only for it to be dirty, and beds were terrible! Not just soft but broken down and needing replaced They did take some off the bill but honestly worst hotel stay we have ever had

The hotel was great I selected the hotel because of the price and close proximity to everything I needed access too while conducting business in Winston-Salem When I first walked into the lobby of the hotel the ambiance was so nice the decor was absolutely beautiful

I couldn’t wait to take pics The hotel was very clean I am that person that always travel with cleaning supplies and this was even before COVID I spray and wipe down everything and when I tell you there wasn’t a piece of hair on the bathroom floor, the bed linen was clean not a spot I threw away a lot of pretty clean Lysol wipes I liked it so much I booked a room for the following week to attend private services for my loved one The experience was absolutely great, the staff was wonderful I have no complaints I would definitely use this establishment on my next visit Thank you to the GM and the front desk clerks for everything

Maria Lopez

I had a great experience at Double Tree hotel The staff was friendly, prompt, and courteous They have a business center with Mac and a PC for all types of guests

They have bar and a well stocked snack cabinet The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable I liked that the heat was on before I entered the room I only stayed the night and it was just for a place to sleep so i didn’t explore much I would definitely recommend and try to stay there again if I’m in the area So far it’s been the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Winston Salem and I saw that they were pet friendly too!

Lisa Seye

Did note some stains in bathroom tub area but overall other areas of the room were clean This hotel had lots of amenities We were too busy with a wedding we were attending to take advantage of the bar and dining as well as the pool area

I noted the bar closed at nine pm on a Friday night I thought that was a bit early However, the room was very comfortable The doors are extremely heavy though/hard to push and hold open Front desk staff and cleaning staff were all friendly I did enjoy the digital key and using the app to check in and out

Was only able to stay here one night (sadly) and it was amazing I was in town for an event at the country club and check in was fast and pleasurable Both the young man and young lady at the desk were nice and the young woman actually went to her car to get me a charger I could use because I forgot mine! Clean, upscale, and affordable

Also they had a great Breakfast which was included–hadn’t known about this!

Red Shoes

Rooms were nice with antiques furniture so it was quaint Room was quiet so easy to sleep and bed was comfy Workers are very nice

Ice machines would have been helpful over asking reception all the time Better selection at Grey’s Restaurant would be nice and add some actual cheese to the burgersNot everyone is into spicy food and southern food so choices were limited

Jamison Lackey

Room 33 is next to the elevator and there is no sound dampening The table in my room is busted and propped up against the wall The shower sprays water everywhere except down

The TV is a postage stamp Rooms are not inexpensive $1,000 for 4 nights so I would expect better Restaurant has spotty, odd service and ignored me for 20 minutes until I just left and went to another place down the road This was a disappointing stay I stay in High Point a lot for work but I won’t be staying here next time

Kinda upset because I was put there for a week before work and the pool and hot tub were closed down due to renovations I’m not a complainer but the room was very humid as well and my balcony door had a broken lock on it and I was on the second floor Kinda scary

Other than that no other problems Bathroom was amazing and my bed was very comfy

Island Beauty

The room were decent, but there is no bistro There is no actual restaurant The food is being prepared with a microwave

Also, it is hard to get in contact with anyone at the front desk or at the bistro The pool and the hot tub were being renovated For our first time in the state, this hotel certainly gave us a bad impression If I could get my money back I will This place needs more renovation and is subpar for the exterior to the amenities This review was done on 06/23/2022

Brad Bills

I never stayed! I made reservations online with no issue After receiving the email confirmation, I attempted to check-in online, but I kept getting an error message I called the front desk to inquire about the problem, and the individual told me the hotel was completely booked and that the manager hadn’t turned off online booking

Next, I asked if my card would be charged, and I was assured it would not because I couldn’t stay My complaint is that my card was charged, and trying to get my money back has wasted a lot of my time Hotels reach max capacity all the time, and managers and employees should know what to do when this happens if they truly value their guests
