The hotel is in need of a deep cleaning It was dusty and visibly dirty base boards, windows etc The bed was worn and the pillows are like small bags of rocks
Super uncomfortable stay Staff wasn’t to friendly and hardly said helloWe’ve stayed here before and each stay has gotten worse The bar tender was on her phone checking out social media while we were trying to get drinks We will not stay again I certainly do not recommend this hotel, there are other options in this area These were my pillows in my picture I literally folded them in half When I asked for new ones, they lady at the front desk was totally annoyed with me They did deliver 2 new pillows that weren’t much better and they said they could only replace 2, so my husband had to tough it out

My first visit to this hotel will be my last I had a bad feeling about this place upon arrival The front desk attendant was very nice and helpful, but the overall experience was terrible
I reserved two rooms and requested either adjoining rooms or rooms next to each other (for me, my daughter(s), and her friends who were celebrating her birthday) They allegedly accommodated my request, however, when my children and I went into one of the rooms, it was already occupied We had to scramble back out of the room as not to disturb the occupant Unfortunately, the only other available room was two floors away from my girls in the second room That didn’t work for us, so we wound up leaving and checking into a nearby hotel I understand an honest mistake, but it was late and we’d had a long day We were ready to hit the showers and go to bed Having to find another hotel after 11P was very inconvenient and even more tiring Also, IDK if the guest in the room we went into was a hard sleeper or what because they didn’t budge when we barged into the room I asked the front desk attendant to check on them I hope they did!

Just checked out and I can’t say enough great things about this hotel I love the showers Awesome water pressure and they had updated seamless shower enclosures so there was NO MILDEW 🤩
The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly We were visiting family and the location was perfectWe had a nice corner room and it was very quiet There were a lot of people staying and we heard no outside noiseWe didn’t get a chance to try out the pool or the breakfast buffet but hopefully will get to next time we stay because I will definitely be back!

Nice, quick check in for a one night stay I was surprised to hear that breakfast was from 5:30-8:30
I woke up early after 24 hours of travel so as not to miss itThe hotel’s interior is recently renovated and the room reflected that It was clean and comfortable with plenty of towels and toiletries The hotel was quiet, shower was hot, and breakfast was decent My sink was clogged and drained very slowly, too late before I realized it And I think it’s unhygienic to put the coffeemaker in the bathroom

This hotel charges a $150 deposit that is returned after 3 to 5 business days It is not listed on the reservation or the confirmation they send Ridiculous considering the room is only $130 per night, I’m a rewards member, booked directly through them with a credit card, and stay frequently at other best westerns without issue
The woman at the front desk was rude, abrupt, and very unhelpful She took a phone call while I was attempting to check in and was rude to that person as well I had her cancel the stay and drove to another best western in Frederick where they treat their guests with respect and don’t charge a ridiculous deposit

I had a great experience at this hotel The room was exceptionally clean as was the rest of the hotel Even with 2 weddings and staying on a designated pet-friendly floor, we did not hear anything from our room and had a most comfortable stay
The staff was friendly and more than willing to do a little housekeeping upon request during our stay! We will 100% consider staying again in the future Thank you to the staff at The Hotel for a wonderful and welcoming stay Hands down one of the top hotels in the area for the price

Really nice place and the woman at the front desk was very nice and lovely With that said, I am only giving 4 stars because it is 4 days after our stay and my $50 room security deposit has still not been refunded Will change review once I receive that money back
***edit: after one week I received it back so am changing to 5 stars

Very nice hotel! The staff were friendly and attentive The hotel appears updated, clean, and bright The handicap accessible room was great
The roll in shower was nice and had an adjustable shower head They provided a shower chair that made it easy to transfer and take my shower There are tons of outlets for charging your devices and I found the king sized bed really comfortable I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again

The level of customer service for such a beautiful hotel was terrible to say the least My family and I drove 3 hours to help my sister who recently had a baby and was overwhelmed They paid for a room for us to stay in not far from their house
Upon arrival/registration process, I was told the room was not paid for and I would need to pay about $461 for the 2 nights After getting the paperwork I noticed a different card from mines showing and questioned it With an annoyed tone the rep said it was only to hold the room, which still needs to be paid for so sign here I completed the check in process as I was already exhausted and just ready to get some sleep My mom and children went up to the room while I looked for a parking spot After getting upstairs, I noticed the door would not lock at the bottom, but decided to ignore it and use the top latch I noticed my mom who is anemic,, sitting with her head wrapped up and shivering I asked what was wrong with the heat she said it wasn’t coming on but maybe she didn’t know what she was doing After trying it myself, I noticed the thermostat was not working at all, it was an old time wall thermostat with the switch on the bottom and temperature buttons to adjust No lights were displayed to indicate it was working so I called down to service desk to get it fixed or moved to another room By this time it’s a out 11:30 and had worked since 6am The woman answered the phone and after I explained what was going on replied, there are no utility workers on shift, the hotel is completely booked and the only option is to get some blankets to us I said fine reluctantly and waited for the blankets The security guard brought 2 blankets for us a few minutes later and said normally you just have to turn up the heat to warm it up He checked it out and said wow you’re right, nothing IS happening Maybe then can put you downstairs This time my mom called the front desk and was met with an unfriendly even more annoyed tone After another explanation of the heat situation, my mom asked to speak with a manager; she was told, “There is no manager, we are fully booked and I’m busy right now” My mother said there is no way I’m paying all this money to stay at a hotel with no heat, if you can’t help me then we’ll take our money elsewhere She then said you’re welcome to leave which we did After speaking to my sister, she was furious because the Crown Plaza had an affiliate hotel right across the street The agent could have tried just a tad bit more to act like she cared about her guests Customer Service is the face of a business and that experience could have been managed so differently If I could give 0 stars I would

The only reason that I gave this two stars rather than one because of the staff is really nice But this hotel has seen its better Days The rooms smells molded, it may be the carpet
It was difficult for me to sleep because of the smell I had a headache for the 2 nights that I stayed there My coworkers stated the same thingNormally hotel lobbies are nice and updated Not this one, so you know what you are going to get when you get to your room Even the wallpaper has scratches and dirt on it Horrible!!! Do not stay here unless you live lesser than this!
Gavin GUARDMAN
We booked in to a “suite” which is putting it very modestly The only upgrade was a bit more floor room It was on the fifth floor
There was peeling paint and wallpaper across most of the walls The toilet would not flush and ended up clogging immediately When going to the front desk, clerk was on a smoke break and had to call maintenance personally who was just not at work What kind of Hilton has no maintenance staff? We had to plunge the toilet ourselves Subsequently another person in my party tried to shower and the bath tub backed up When going to plunge to it to maybe try and fix it, black pieces came out of the drain God only knows what those were So we asked to move which they obliged The room the system said was available was not It was filthy and torn apart and smelt like some one had died in it from the hallway Back down to the desk we went They finally seemed to pull enough sense together to get us into a room seeing as how it’s approaching midnight and we’d be lucky if there was any more available The consolation was free ice cream and a changed rate The rate going from 135 to 99 a night In my opinion this place was comparable to a motel 6 which cost 30 dollars a night I probably would have slept better there I like a stiffer bed but I left with back pain The ac wasn’t working properly either as I dropped it to 66 degrees and the ambient temp stayed around 71 Damp and dingy The lobby bathroom stall is falling apart The pool was nice enough with a broken gate The entirety of the hotel comes from a time forgotten which was kinda cool for two minutes until you see how nasty it actually is I guess if I was as drugged as hunter s Thompson in fear and loathing this place would be marvelous But it is indeed a dumpster fire If you have live anywhere close to better than this hotel is not for you
Joey Meador
Before a long day of travel, I had booked a room at this hotel for over $200 in hopes of rest before a 7 hour drive the next day I arrived to a chaotic place with people having cookouts and throwing baseballs in the parking lot There was one person working on an incredibly busy night
I tried to go to sleep just before 9pm to no avail There was yelling, screaming, and door slamming I contacted the front desk They sent “security” up to quell the ruckus to no avail The next time I called the lady said she’d have them evicted, but still nothing I called the front desk 8 times over the course of 3 hours and as I write this the noise is still as loud as it was at 9pm This is behavior I expect paying $60 at a Motel 6, but this is a Hilton property charging almost 4 times that amount Stay away from this place if you actually want to sleep

This is a hotel that lives up to the Marriott good name It wasn’t brand new but it was very clean The breakfast was acceptable, and it’s nice to see hotels serving breakfasts again after a long hiatus due to the pandemic
The front desk was friendly The fitness room was clean and had some very nice drinking water Overall I would recommend this hotel
Casie Sulzle [Carlson]
There were always staff cleaning, and it felt like the whole hotel was clean Our floor even got shampooed during our stay, it was comforting that they cleaned oftenThe rooms were definitely outdated
The carpet under our chair was ripped up, the walls needed new paint, and our tub drained very slowly But, it seemed very clean and the bed was comfy!Breakfast was great! Shout-out to the chef because she came and greeted guests and kept everything stockedPool was a huge plus, as were the kind staff who recognized us in the lobby
Naomi Reinbold
I don’t feel like the pictures represented the hotel to date For the price it isn’t horrible but the best part of the room was the bathroom Our air-conditioner sounded like it was going to break off the wall, our TV was broken, when we let them know about it they sent new batteries for the remote, they never even came to the room to check it out
The pool was empty and being fixed We weren’t going swimming anyways but for people who have kids this may have ended badly I was just disappointed in the overall experience Hotels cost money and to have it be an experience where I was ready to leave at 1:30 am and continue my drive home it warranted a detailed review I will definitely not stay here again

Not as horrible as some of the reviews But no coffee for us early risers AND they charge for it anyways No breakfast either
Thin walls, hear everything It is very dated Grass was super high for my dogs and there was dog feces all over the courtyard (Bad dog parents, but still very unkept grounds) Definitely odor of marijuana in some hallways Needs to be demolished and updated Came back through, stayed elsewhere; much happier
Steve Tasco
It was kinda clean
that’s itok really where do I start? No microwave in room, a community microwave where the ice machine that doesn’t work iscleaned by who??? Me? Good luck with breakfast, if your schedule has you gone by 7:30 no breakfastnot sure they even have onemaybe someone could let me knowStaff was friendly enough but that’s not really important if they don’t offer anything else, a 2 outta 5 is kind
bdubz 612
The room was nice and that’s the only thing about this place that was okay The staff is ignorant, they not only don’t have any type of breakfast but they sell little cups of cereal and they also sell their cups of coffee I’m sorry but someone spends over 100$ to stay a night at your establishment the least you could do is give a cup of coffee for them in the morning
Very disgraceful and greedy is all they are

Clean, quiet and convenient location Spacious rooms with mini fridge and microwave Extended continental breakfast hours on weekends
Early check-in option with 11a check out Sofa and desk located in rooms There were cracks in the ceiling in bathroom but nothing more problematic in room There are Dove products for body and hair which was extremely delightful! Housekeeping has a presence and politely knocked on the door as a reminder that check out was in 10 minutes The breakfast was a bit interesting, surprised no potatoes There is a pancake makersorry no waffles! Cinnamon rolls were dry Eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits were hot food items There is also a pool area! Plenty of uncovered parking out front This hotel is very clean all over I highly recommend if you are in the area for business or personal travel

I would love to give this hotel an excellent review because it appeared as if the customer service was superb and the rooms were clean and smelled good I had to put a $50 deposit when I was using my debit card This was fine even though I spoke to them on the phone and they didn’t tell me anything about a deposit when using a credit card or when using cash
I was supposed to use cash to pay for the room but there was $150 deposit when using cash This is not noted on a sign anywhere and was not told to me when I made the reservation and specifically ask what is the total cost to reserve the room I paid for two days but I actually checked out early on the second day before The cleaning staff even got to my room I did not expect to get a refund for that day But I had a feeling that because the room was paid for for the entire day and the cleaning staff hadn’t even made it to my room that they were going to either use my room for their own personal use or try to sell the room to someone else I had no issue with that but my suspicions was something funny was going to happen This was May 1 that I checked out and now it is May 12 and I still have not received my $50 deposit They are holding my money hostage I have called them and they claim that they have sent it back and I have also called my bank and they say that Holiday Inn express is holding my $50 deposit still I would never use my card at this hotel again let alone even do business with them I left the room spotless and I know I did not make any damages so there was no need for them to hold my $50 deposit A matter of fact they assured me that everything was fine and they had released my $50 deposit I am highly upset because I needed that money because it wasn’t in my budget to give that to them in the first place There is some shady stuff going on there and I do feel like it was racially motivated

Stayed here 3 nights for business It is decent hotel overall besides the really hard and uncomfortable bed, but the horrible service ruined it for me I called multiple weeks ahead and asked for late checkout for my final day since I had work to do, which they agreed and told me the latest was 3pm
Great So I planned to work and leave by 3pm The night before checkout, I even called the front desk to confirm I had late checkout They told me yes, they see it on my reservation, no problem However at 11:15 the morning of checkout, I get a call in my room by Evelyn at the front desk saying I need to check out I told her I had arranged late checkout and she told me, no you did not, we don’t do that, you need to leave because we have a large party coming and we need to clean your room I told her, it was arranged ahead of time for my reservation and I even confirmed last night She replied, oh that person is new they don’t know what they’re doing Wow I told her, well I’m in the middle of work I can’t stop and I need until 3pm as I had planned to After going back and forth she agreed to 2pm, even though I needed 3pm as planned I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was none Only when I asked her name did she say okay, you can stay until 3 This after arguing with me and being extremely rude and unprofessional In all my years of staying at hotels, I’ve never ever experienced being treated like that This same person, Evelyn, was even rude at check in She wasn’t even at the front desk when I arrived and the door was locked so I couldn’t even get in the hotel I waited for a while before she finally let me in Once I did and got my room key, I asked for a cart to haul up all my stuff since I had a lot and was told they’re all occupied No concern whatsoever as I struggled to get all my stuff up People like Evelyn should not work in hospitality Oh and the kicker is when I checked out before 3pm, this large party they were kicking me out for was not even there So all that arguing and rude service… for nothing I was planning to come stay at this hotel regularly and now I’ll take my business elsewhere

My Mom and I came to Maryland for a Church Youth Revival and last minute we were trying to find a place to stay and then we ended up finding the Laurel Manor BnB! We were so pleased with our stay here and definitely want to come back again! Our hosts Lisa & Dave were both so kind & immediately made us feel at home! We are so thankful for them! Also, the property is so beautiful! Plus, breakfast was so good! You feel like family when you are there!

Laurel Manor B&B is by far one of the best we’ve ever stayed at! From the well kept grounds and building to the wonderful homemade breakfasts and nighttime brownies, from the wonderful energy to the cleanest rooms we’ve ever seen in any B&B, Laurel Manor is a perfect place to stayOur thanks to Lisa Everett, the owner/operator, who was the perfect host We look forward to staying with you again and than k you for your hospitality!

Lisa saved my wedding from disaster this weekend when, just a few hours before I was supposed to walk down the aisle, I found out my guests food was completely cold My bridesmaids and I were staying at Laurel Manor House and Lisa and her husband were kind enough to allow us to use their ovensThe B&B is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully run
While we were there even the picky eaters among us enjoyed the hosts wonderful cooking Check in was extremely easy and the electronic door lock made coming in and out a breeze Parking behind the house is easy, spacious and feels secureAll of our rooms were set up as we asked and spotless for our arrivalI highly recommend staying here for anyone who is looking to visit the area or just needs a little vacation

Best hotel experience from the moment we walked in until we checked out! This trip specifically was with our family and it was a large group for a soccer tournament Lobby was big and beautiful with lots of places to hang out as a team Pool was clean and the kids had a blast! Rooms were clean and one minor issue was taken care of right away
Only downside I can think of is rooms need some updating with outlets so don’t forget your charging blocks they do not have usb charging as many other hotelsThe staff, I could right a book on how accommodating and nice they were to not only the adults but the kids I truly felt like the manager was my personal concierge and nothing went unnoticed by this gentleman he was on point at all times! We wonder when he sleeps as he was always there The breakfast and all the amazing waitresses were fabulous, definitely worth the cost!!! Plus they filled up the kids water bottle every morning and the parents coffee cups! I can’t say enough about the staff at this hotel they were beyond exceptional and truly made our trip as stress free and enjoyable as possible!

Everyone who worked here was so nice! The room was very large and clean The bed was extremely comfortable! My only complaint is that I was not aware that I would have to be given a voucher for my food credit since I am a rewards member and was not given one upon check in I didn’t get to use my credit my first night because I was not aware of this policy
The next morning, I asked for the credit , was told “ok”, and thought it would just be added on to my bill at breakfast I was told at the restaurant to go back to the front desk to physically get the voucher for breakfast I did not mention it while i was there I was unaware of how this worked at this particular Hilton property I missed out on my “complimentary” dinner the evening that I checked in which I honestly do not believe is fairThe room was quiet, clean, big, and nice Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly, helpful, and nice I cannot say enough good about them or the hotel! The hotel is secluded, also

We stayed here for two weeks while our home was being remodeled The location was perfect for us We booked two rooms as my husband and I both work remotely and had our double monitors set up in each room
The desk/chair was comfortable for working 10+ hrs/day The internet was fast and reliableThere is no kitchen but there are plenty of eating options just steps from the hotel There is a microwave and a small fridge The free coffee in the lobby was pretty good too!Our kids enjoyed the indoor pool as a treat and we made use of the fitness centerThe breakfast is cooked to order and served I would have rather full self service because it took a long time in the mornings, but it was good The food was fresh, especially the fruitsEveryone was friendly and the accommodations were comfortable overall It is not easy to live/work out of a hotel with small kids, we made the best of it and this turned out to be a great option

The hotel looks great from outside, bedroom clean and big Unfortunately, The bathroom smell of Urine When speaking to the staff who insisted that all rooms cleaned very well and she didn’t smell it and she stated she had a good nose
The front desk staff is professional but I cannot feel her warmthOther than that the hotel cafe’ staff is very friendly, look forward to switching to a different room this afternoon
VagabondMike
This hotel looks clean and modern, but that’s where the comfort ends Every expense was spared in the comfort of this hotelI’m sure they could have found a firmer substance for the bed
Maybe concrete, but even that may have been an improvement, at least springs wouldn’t have been stabbing at me all nightThe pillows are feather, but broken down horribly I would like to think it’s from washing them so often, but they weigh a ton for a feather pillow, which means they’re probably full of dust mites from years of useIt was clean, but I probably would have gotten a better nights sleep in the truck Spend your money somewhere else

This was my first time in a Homewood suit layout vs their other properties I travel all the time for work about two weeks to a month I thought it was a nice apartment like feel
Which was nice because I felt at home The hotel room had four-part area with walls separating each: kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom I really like the full kitchen with a 2-person table set up I was surprised to see silverware, cooking pan, dishwasher, and full-size refrigerator The bed/ bath/ living room were so spacious My service animal loved the owner and his staff
Ca Burnet
Cold showers Asked to be on the first floor they put me on the sixth They double booked my room and people barged in on me at midnight
UNACCEPTABLE Their tv’s look like they are from 1982 Lobby looks beautiful but the rooms look old and run down The door key scanner is broken and insides are exposed Not sure how secure that is They take months to reimburse the incidentals you have to pay for up front Not staying here ever again Recommending no one in our company ever use this garbage hotel ever again Would give negative reviews if possible

I can’t describe enough how grateful I am for the attentive and kind staff and excellent rooms I stayed here for several months and never had issues Anything I needed help on the staff promptly took care of
The food was good and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable I so enjoyed staying here and had such an excellent experience The front desk workers even knew my name after a while and were such a pleasure to interact with The housekeeping staff was equally pleasant and did a great job This is the perfect place to stay both short and long term 11/10 🙂

We had a 2 bedroom suite (King + 2 Queens) It was convenient to DC The service (of the front desk staff and those in breakfast/evening social) was quality
Pros: plenty of room for my 5 kids, full fridge & counter in room, some basic cooking things, shower for parents & tub shower for kids, doors to bedrooms, clean upon arrival, front desk staff was nice, mini waffles at breakfastCons: furniture & things had wear (rip in couch arm, non-functional can opener), tiny cooktop, didn’t know we had to request housekeeping to get fresh towels and empty trashService only down a star because they didn’t tell us housekeeping required a request (This is a new, common thing, but we haven’t traveled much since covid and didn’t know)

As someone who works on the front lines of Covid I frequent hotels near and far I’m usually met with a lack luster attitude or seem to be a bother when simply checking into my hotel, I’m saying all that to say I meet allot of front desk personnel and very rarely do I come across one like Lauren Bowman her attitude is infectious she always has a smile and remembers your name and has the most bubbly personality I have ever encountered she makes you feel like your at a home away from home she goes above and beyond to ensure you have a pleasant visit, I wish more hotel staff were like her, I would also like to give kudos to everyone I have encountered at this hotel they all are friendly and welcoming this location is super convenient everything is in a 2 minute walking distance if you need to stay in the Fulton area trust me this is the only choice !!

The staff is really, really nice!! Easy to get to by public transit— you can call their shuttle to get you from the metro, but it only runs on weekends right now bc of the pandemic It’s about a mile walk in an easy flat area if you don’t have too much luggage or it’s a nice day Beds are super comfy and the showers are great
The toiletries provided are lightly scented and smell great! The rooms are kind of dark at night which I don’t really like, but they are otherwise great Nice and clean The light switches are all electronic buttons which might take you a few minutes to work out but once you get the hang of it it’s kinda nifty The pool and gym are solid and the conference amenities are very attractive as well I haven’t been to the spa myself but a friend got her nails done there and had a great experience The bar is wonderful, though the beer selection is pretty smallThey make a great bloody mary!
Jenny Terry
I loved my stay here! Beautiful hotel with an amazing view Conveniently located just steps from the University of Maryland The staff was nice, the room was immaculate, and the bed was so comfortable
If you are planning a trip to DC this is a great option just outside the district but is located near the metro line I really enjoyed my stay here and hope to visit again
Janna Chan
I have stayed at the University of Maryland Hotel several times over the past few yearsThe rates are good and the service is excellent The staff is very friendly
I wish that some of the rooms had bath tubs instead of just showers but that’s a minor issueThe two restaurants right next to the premises, a pizza place and a bagel place, are excellent and reasonably pricedObviously this location makes sense if you’re doing something at the University of Maryland However, it’s a very clean and professional outfit for anyone staying in the DC area in general

Had a chance to stay in March of 2022 for a relaxing overnight The hotel is beautiful and the staff friendly and accommodating The views of the lake from our finally furnished room were outstanding and we loved watching the snow fall and swirl from our balcony
We had a chance to utilize the bar area for drinks and appetizers and enjoyed spending time with the staff while enjoying the comfort and views from the lounge area We didn’t have an opportunity to utilize the workout area, but took a peek and it is quite impressive We are excited to return once the restaurant fully opens in April Highly recommend the hotel for some of the finest, if not THE finest accommodations in the surrounding area
Nikola Susic
This hotel is absolutely stunning I was genuinely astounded by the quality of the place from the moment I walked in The atmosphere is modern, yet at the same time comforting, with a feeling of a lodge by the lake
Throughout my stay, I felt as though I was the focus of attention the entire time The staff tended to every need of my family and I, and my parents spoke very highly of the hospitality they experienced They genuinely saved my Christmas, because they put my parents in a good mood from the very start, which made dinner go much more smoothly than I would have expected I cannot say enough good things about the hotel and I will definitely be coming back to stay here in the near future If you are looking for a place to stay, I recommend you come here It is truly a hidden gem
Andrea Baines
Excellent! Had a gathering with friends at Merriweather Lakehouse Hotel and we had a fabulous time! The decor and ambience is delightful – fresh, stylish, contemporary with a warm feel The staff were also very warm and welcoming and totally felt in service to us – caring that we had a great time And a great time we had indeed! The cocktails are very tasty, good beer selection and the food — well, we were Super Impressed with what ‘bar food’ was
We chose to sit in the open, lively seating area near the bar and were SO pleased with the interesting choices and Delicious food – the fried burrata was amazing — and I don’t normally eat fried The grilled vegetable choice was done to perfection, and between the group, we had just about every item on the menu — and everyone was raving about what they had It was such a fun, uplifting, perfect time that we asked for a tour so a few of us could start planning functions there for organizations we are involved in 5 stars! Highly Recommend! Oh yes — and the view is beautiful, as are all the rooms And wait until you see the pool view — WOW! And it’s so fun to see all the old music posters from previous concerts at Merriweather Post Pavilion — a little trip down memory lane The attention to detail is apparent — from the stylish shape of the glasses, the silverware — this is a Marriott Autograph hotel that is truly top-notch!
