I stayed for 5 nights (as I usually do for my work) Typically half way through my stay-Wednesday morning I place the request that room/bathroom are cleaned and trash/recycling are removed, towels are changed I came late from work and nothing has been done

Second issue was with the faucet in the bathtub It is loose and keeps moving on its own and by the time I am half way through the shower water becomes scolding hot I asked for maintenance to check the faucet -apparently they did-they left the note they completed the job but faucet kept doing the same thing so the clearly did not complete the taskOtherwise room was nice and clean, bathroom is new and functional, there is always fresh coffee in the lobby and complimentary water bottles, hotel is nice and airy, gym is well equipped, TVs on machines are working Will be back for next business trip

Not a standard Hilton Garden Inn – it advertises itself as a conference center While the total venue space is similar to a lot of regular hotels – the decor and layout is much more upscale From the lobby to the rooms – it appears to be targeting executives and not family travelers

Good place to stay – just know it’s not as family / kid oriented as many Hilton Garden Inns It’s along the highway but separated by a guard rail – very short side road to get into the parking lot but Google Maps will be your friend for finding it

Rachael Bagenstose

The hotel is clean, breakfast buffet is great, our girls enjoyed the pool, the bartender was super friendly, however, if you plan on sleeping this is not the hotel for you unless you stay on the top floor We had two rooms on the third floor, and our weekend was greatly disrupted due to lack of sleep as the noise from simple walking could be heard from the rooms above us We were up late each night and woken up every day by 6am thanks to people staying above us – walking, jumping, the open and closing of drawers

by the third day of our stay our toddle (and myself) were exhausted The morning of our last day I was at my wits end, and called the front desk at 6:10am The woman who answered was not empathetic at all and told me that the people above us, “were getting ready for work and would be checking out that day” I am not sure how she knew they were getting ready for work, but the customer service was extremely disappointing Needless to say, it was an exhausting and disappointing experience

Monique Pecora

We enjoyed this historic hotel and particularly the friendly staff There’s a nice table out back to sit at if you want to take in some fresh air without going too far We traveled with my elderly mom and we’re able to get a room connected by a bathroom to a single room where she could be close to us

The single room only had a fan so it was a bit warm with the unseasonably temps in the low 90s The hotel should consider AC in all of the rooms with the unfortunate consequences of global warming You may have to walk far to get to your room so if that’s an issue, you should ask for something close to the elevator The staff was very considerate and accommodating! Hope to return again someday!

Great Hotel that’s been around for over 100 years Staff is super friendly and very helpfulHousekeeping is outstanding

It’s a very old building that’s well maintained, but it’s also very difficult to clean and Housekeeping always gets it done rightI have been staying here for work, 4 nights a week, for almost 2 months nowI love it Great ambience!

andrea sleiman

I’ve stayed at the Hotel Coolidge a number of times and can’t say enough good things Customer service and cleanliness are the two most important things to me when choosing a hotel and its top notchThe people who work at the front desk are always so pleasant, professional and accommodating

They always ask how things are going (which is rare these days), and if there’s ever an issue, they’re always quick to resolve it Judith and Andy are particularly great, and a true asset to the hotel Also Nikki in housekeeping was very sweet and went above and beyond during our most recent stay The type of atmosphere this hotel provides is unlike any other, and I hope they never changeOh and they’re the only hotel located in the heart of downtown WRJ- with about a dozen places to eat, within a 1 minute walk, as well as boutiques, various different types of shops to browse, and the Northern Stage theater So much to enjoy

We loved every minute of our stay at The Shire! From the warm, welcoming text message to the gracious check out text message, we were treated as valued guestsAlena and Owen provided outstanding customer service, our room was perfect, the views spectacular, it was so quiet, the mattress and pillows divine, it was super easy to control the room’s temperature, and it’s only a 10 minute easy walk to the center of townWe highly recommend staying at The Shire when you’re visiting Woodstock VT!

Don Tomaz

Amazing communication & top tier service – this is truly the best accommodation in Woodstock, VTI was not able to complete my stay due towards my girlfriend losing her passport in Montreal a day earlier! (but thats another story)Patrick is a true gem to have at The Shire Woodstock – he helped us along the way with timely responses and true attention to detail for his guests A+

Gretchen Sauer Stuart (GSS)

This is a motel that has been in Woodstock for years The advertising made it seem they had remodeled and changed it into a hotel The rooms open onto the main street and it may be difficult to get rooms together

Rooms at the ends of the building did not get good WiFi or cell (AT&T) cell coverageAll this would have been fine if advertised as such Unfortunately I felt misled When I discovered it was a motelI did get good customer care and refunds

Gentle Nomad

Prompt check in Tastefully furnished room, that was well cleaned Nice touch with the free waters, coffee, cookies

Location is right In town I skipped valet as I had a pre 9 am departure Much to my surprise The manager berated me on front of others asking my last name and room number on my departure morning i promptly provided and was thentold I would be charged a fee of $75 For my pet too add insult to Injury the manager then attempted toact like he was simply being thorough rather than taking responsibility for never asking me at check inmind youthe hotel has doggy bowls everywhere what could have been a pleasant stay now just another spot where power power trips but fails to deliver true customer service Also the cleaning person on 4th floor refused to acknowledge me when I said good morning Makes it easy to give 1 star

Mark Grim

This above average hotel property missed the mark on a number of things one expects in a great hotel They are short staffed with the front desk person also working as the valet This led to longer than acceptable wait times for check in and valet service

The room was a typical hotel room size with above average furnishings and decor, but not spectacular It is conveniently located in Hanover near shops and restaurantsThe shower was dirty with moldy caulk around the perimeter of the base (See photo) We informed the staff at check-out and were told we would get some follow-up from management That did not happenFrom my recent experience, there are nicer, cleaner options nearby in Hanover in the same price bracket

Harley DeWald

The hotel website advertised parking, views from the rooms and a restaurant&bar When booking the room, mystery fees raised the room price by nearly 50% Upon arrival we were charged another $50 preauthorization, told that parking was valet only for $23, and that the restaurant and bar were closed

The view from our room was a brick wall The room itself was lovely but for a one night stay cost of $478, there wasn’t a single amenity It was like a boujee best western with no pool or breakfast

I just had a beer from this inn’s attached brewery that’s in my top few favorite beers of the last few years It’s called “There And Back Again,” and it is truly a masterful work of brewing Savory, toasty, & the correct (read: subtle) amounts of sour, floral, bitter, and sweet to round it all out

Three cheers to the Norwich Inn brewing team

I recently stayed at the Quechee Inn for a wedding and it was fantastic! It is a 1793 hotel so if you are looking for a modern style hotel this is not the place for you If you like history, old world charm, antique style furniture and a clean shower you will adore this place We stayed all weekend and every meal was delicious and the staff was so friendly and on top of things! The wedding was perfectly orchestrated with not one glitch in the schedule

If you are looking for a mellow weekend in beautiful Vermont, you won’t be disappointed!

Jenna Lempesis

We have now stayed at Quechee several times, and held our wedding there on July 3, 2022 The Inn really is a cut above The staff is unbelievably warm, accommodating, and welcoming

The food is absolutely delicious The beds are comfortable, the rooms are sweetly detailed and unique, and the land is simply stunning What more could you ask for?

lisa ryan

My daughter’s wedding was here last weekend and I can only echo the glowing reviews from other weddings Everyone remarked about how much fun and how idyllic everything was One guest said they felt they were part of a movie about a perfect Vermont wedding

Rick and the rest of the staff were wonderful and the food and accommodations were outstanding Staying at the Inn for the weekend really allowed us to spend time with everyone and the rehearsal dinner and wine and cheese reception on Friday night were a blast

John Stillwaggon

The Braeside is the best in the motel category First, it’s clean It passed the white sock test

Our socks were spotless after walking around on the rugs We stayed at a high-end hotel in a large city last year, within 5 minutes (no kidding) our socks were filthy The bathroom is a no frills bathroom with a tub and shower curtain There wasn’t a spec of mold anywhere Second, the towels and sheets were soft and plush I hate staying anywhere we’re the towels are see-through Third, the beds were on the harder side without lumps or sags Fourth, the rooms are quiet! You couldn’t hear a thing in the adjacent rooms Fifth, Patricia and Richard are some of the nicest proprietors we have ever met – friendly, professional, courteous, featuring Vermont innkeeper charm Lastly, the Braeside is affordable! It’s the perfect place to be your base of operation in central VT We’re looking forward to returning next year!

If you are visiting the Woodstock VT area this is the perfect location to have as your base First

the hotel It is an older style setupbut very updated and very clean Staff takes this seriously The room is large compared to the cookie cutter highway hotelsno need to squeeze around the furniture to move around in the room Good bed and TVgreat shower and there is a mini fridge Everything my wife and I needed for a 2 night stay This is a family owned hotel and they are such sweet peoplevery easy to communicate with! They both told us about things to do and see in and around Woodstock VT From restaurant recommendations that were spot onto some back roads directions that led us to some fantastic views We saw an old cemetery with a number of Revolutionary War vets, 3 different covered bridges which interests us, found an amazing thrift store in this HUGE old wooden building in the next town down from WoodstockBridgetown? After our explorations we took advantage of the huge Adirondack chairs on the beautiful hill overlooking some nice country scenerypostcards could be made of this view!! One place we loved was the Woodstock MarketI found some hard to get Vermont Craft brews and we decided on a couple of big sandwiches and salads for a picnic table lunch In the endwe had a wonderful time in the area and would so recommend the kindness and hospitality you will experience while staying at The Braeside Lodge Woodstock Vermont

Carla Baptiste Ojha

Taking off one star because the mattress was absolutely horrible and made the worst creaking sound each time I moved It also gave me intense back pain after the first night The mattresses clearly need to be replaced

Other than that The Hotel was clean and the owners were kind and attentive The location is very close to Quechee and the main areas in Woodstock

We loved our stay at the Windsor Mansion Inn the weekend after Thanksgiving Andy was the most gracious host and shared interesting stories of the history of the property Andy also was a great tour guide, giving us tips on restaurants and things to do

The mansion, rooms and scenic setting make this a great spot for a getaway We also enjoyed a homemade chicken pot pie dinner at the inn which was delicious, and the wine and beer selection on site was great too We will definitely come back and stay again

JJ Pekins

Just stayed at the Windsor Mansion and it was an absolutely wonderful experience The rooms are beautiful & tasteful So many changes by the new owner

Please disregard any opinions you’ve taken from a TV show in regards to this treasure That was filmed years ago and is a completely false representation of what you’ll find here The Inn Keeper goes above and beyond to provide a relaxing & enjoyable stay The history here is phenomenal… I would highly recommend staying!! We’ll be back soon, I can’t wait to see the grounds in full bloom

Paige Lang

Words cannot describe how amazing our stay was here at the Inn We stayed for a short weekend but wish we could have stayed longer! Andy was so kind, thoughtful and helpful throughout our entire stay The grounds and view are absolutely stunning as well

This met all of my expectations We were looking for a small New England town with a ton of history and this did not disappoint The Inn was incredibly gorgeous

As soon as you stepped into the lobby you felt like you were transported back in time The staff was wonderfully kind and helpful There are so many rooms to explore, each with their own unique feel The grounds itself were beautiful as well There were a ton of flowers in bloom and a ton of different areas to just sit outside and enjoy the surroundings The room itself was a very nice size and beautiful It made me not want to leave Vermont!

Jacqueline Schillinger

The room we stayed in was unique and unlike the look and feel of a regular hotel room It had a lot of natural light, a comfortable sofa, a luscious king size bed, and comfortable robes to enjoy A spa adjoins the resort and is the definition of relaxation

The resort is well located in town and easy walking to a plethora of activities I highly recommend a stay here

Mark Hoffman

The common areas of the inn are fantastic They have a magnificent fireplace in the lobby and they kept adding 3 to 4 foot-long logs They have fresh baked cookies and tea every afternoon

The rooms are nice, but the heat was very slow to get the room up to temperatureTheir website had wrong info about electric car charging They switched the number of charging stations for themselves and the public stations a mile away (They have 2 vs 4 a mile away) The charging stations at the inn are for Tesla only I was able to plug into an ordinary outlet near one of the Tesla stations that gave me 5 miles for every hour that I was charging They said that they would fix the web page

High end independent hotel sitting on the edge of the Dartmouth campus The restaurant was filled each evening with parents visiting their student children Funny to watch the kids trying real hard to tolerate their parents now that they knew everything there is to know

Beware the rooms on the street side which has a window directly opposite the street light Great hotel otherwise

K Sutton

Had a wonderful one night stay on a mobile family vacation at this historic inn in quaint old New England Enjoyed the well appointed King bedroom corner suite with a beautiful view of the town square and old streets The huge X-mas tree lit against fresh snow at night was magical as we were cozy in the comfy room

Our visit started by meeting our friendly and witty host at the front desk Heather proved helpful about everything we needed to know Then we took in the Victorian-style decoration of the Victorian-era house–straight out of Charles Dickens

Our room was luxe (we splurged): room 5, which is a suite with a separate sitting area with armchairs and gas fireplace It also features the widest bed I’ve ever seen, and a 2-person whirlpool tub Posh, indeed And breakfast next morning was a gourmet treat, cooked to order by our host The Inn is located in the heart of downtown Woodstock, so it’s an easy walk from there to sites in this beautiful town Highly recommended

Emily Strubert

This was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in We stayed in the summer and did lots of sightseeing around Vermont This was such a beautiful and relaxing place to be our home base

It’s definitely in the middle of nowhere and remote, but quite worth it Our kids loved the game room My youngest liked the activity room and being able to color but I wish there were more activities for the kids to do here, like crafts and such The employees were super friendly and kind There was a nice little shop to get snacks, food, and souvenirs in The rooms were super clean and spacious and I loved the free washer and dryer to do laundry I was also pleasantly surprised that the bed and pillows were the most comfortable in any hotel I’ve ever stayed inMy biggest complaints are that the pool was sketchy and the building it was in needed a huge update The front doors were padlocked and you had to go around the back to get it This definitely needed a face lift, as it didn’t fit with the rest of the resort Also, we had a one room suite and the bathroom was super tiny, which was odd It was very darkly lit and you could hardly see in the shower It’d be nice to have bright, white light The bathroom was so tiny that it was hard to brush our kids teeth in at night with all of use in there But other than those two things, it was such a nice place to stay and so clean!

Kimberly Brady

We went here for the weekend with family and stayed in a large suite with a full kitchen and 3 bedrooms I was surprised at how nice and clean everything was considering how inexpensive the rooms are (we came from Boston) There were a lot of things to do, we had four kids ages 4 through 10 and there were things for all of them

The staff was really friendly and helpful We hiked at Mount Ascutney which was really lovely I’d stay here again-prices were very reasonable

Katy Frazier

We had a great stay! 10 day work trip It was basically an apartment Vermont has very little business dining, so the kitchen is a huge time and money saver

Very friendly staff and free washer/dryer down stairs I’m not sure what these complainers were expecting? It’s not The Plaza in NY, but it is a great reasonably priced stay with helpful amenities I would definitely repeat stay!

We enjoyed our stay here The negatives were that we had a view of the back parking lot, the laundry was not working, one ice machine was not working Everything else was positive

Enjoyed the 24/7 coffee and the gym and being on the first floor All of the staff was very friendly and nice A very convenient location We would not hesitate booking here again

Roni Berg

We stayed here overnight Close to I91 Rooms have been upgraded

The AC worked too a point and then the fan was on only It didn’t cool to the temperature we selected, so the room was warmer than we like Also, our room had a bathroom door that got stuck on the floor The floor must’ve been slanted or something because the bottom of the door hit the floor and needed to be pushed past the slant or bulge to open and close it It also affected the shower doors because they would not stay closed Weird and a little annoying, but otherwise the stay was good Hotel was quiet

Good location and general accommodations were good – room was clean, breakfast was good, pool area and fitness areas were nice There are also four EV Go charger in the parking lot for EV owners – awesome!Points taken off for shower door that wouldn’t stay closed (on rollers, always rolled open ~6 inches), sink faucet completely loose in the sink, and a heating unit that was so loud ear plugs were found to be necessary

I stayed a week in the Studio King room The room was bigger than I expected and very clean There was a closet to store my things

A large dresser for clothing Plenty of counter space in the bathroom Sitting area with a table Loved having a smart tv for streaming Loved the many options at the continental breakfast Location was close to a lot of activities in the area The hotel was very quiet and I felt safe Couple of things to improve on: room smelled like bug spray when I arrived The mini fridge froze everything Deadbolt lock was broken so I couldn’t use that for added security None of these things distracted from my stay and I’m sure would have been easily fixed if I mentioned it to the staff Overall, great hotel and I would stay here again

We just traveled through New England and stayed at many hotels including 3 Marriott brands This hotel had the largest room of all of the Fairfield hotels which was great for my family There was the biggest refrigerator in this room as well which was very helpful especially since we bought so much Vermont cheese to take home with us

Our profile states feather free rooms and when I check in I was told that it had been set that way When we went to bed we noticed all of the pillows were feather pillows The hotel brought us more feather pillows as a replacement We ended up having to help him search the pillow stash for feather free pillows This was very frustrating The breakfast was very full of items complete with 3 egg choices, 3 meat choices among the other continental breakfast items The down side was that the breakfast meats were cold, there was no water at breakfast You had to go to the gym to fill a glass This was the first hotel I have stayed at in years with the old key card system which failed a few times and I had to get new keys We were told that this hotel is due for a complete remodel soon We also rarely do laundry at a hotel like this but had a need for it this time It was not clear how much it cost to do laundry which caused us problems When my wife went to ask about it the staff was rude saying that no body else has had an issue with that for the last 10 weeks since they had been working here He also said that their price is way cheaper than the laundromat This may be true but we don’t use a laundromat and have no point of reference This gentleman was the first we have encountered on our trip that did not meet the expectations of the Marriott brand

I’d describe this hotel as fair, adequate, acceptableIf you can find another hotel with better reviews, go thereThe king size executive room was standard – the usual

Nothing out of the ordinary Though the TV was an LG with a great picture Breakfast was standard fair, omelette was goodThe shower neck was broken, wobbling in the wall The towels are oddly on a shelf in the shower The bed was super soft, if you like it that way The young man at the front desk was not helpful Asked for a luggage rack and was told the hotel had none Yet I had one in my room When I pointed that out, he shrugged Only one luggage cart for the facilityWe ate at Chili’s in West Lebanon Good service Good $10 meal Good burger 10 minutes from hotel 99 restaurant across the street had a 25 minute wait Chili’s had noneAgain, the hotel is acceptable but go someplace else if you can find one with better reviews

It’s clean and modern, but for some reason they position the TV in a way that it’s hard to watch from the bed

Several hotels I’ve been to recently did the same thing I don’t know who decided to do this, but I don’t like it Besides that it’s your standard mid-range chain hotel I would prefer free breakfast, but they do have a Starbucks in the lobby where you can buy coffee
